I got this game because it was in a bundle with something else, cant remember what. Anyways its a nice little beat'em up and its got Shaq in it and lots of icy hot references which are funny. Game play is alright. Aint nothing wrong with this game. I just wish we had the DLC for it but it is not on steam. Other than that its good.

Do jogador de basquete Shaquille O'Neal, um grande Beat-up refinado e reformulado de maneira incrível.
A essência do game é ir combinando golpes e estratégias diferentes. Nada tão avançado, fica dentro de uma fluidez e divesão. Tem um poder que é um tapão nas orelha dos inimigos, referencia a um ato do jogador em determinado tempo de sua vida.

O jogo é ótimo, vale muito a pena. Ele é desconhecido, porém quanto mais se espalhar a palavra de Shaq Fu tem de tudo para ser um cult no futuro.

For anyone considering getting this game, get it when it is on sale for 5$. The game is fun and the cutscenes are funny. melee attacks are satisfying and it is a nice side scrolling hack and slash type of game. I fully completed the game with every achievement in 5 hours, it is a really short game.

The gameplay genuinely isn't *too* bad Like, it's fine as a sideways-scrolling beat-em'-up, if not a little too easy. The main problem is unironically the dialogue. Every single line in this game is peak cringe. The "humour" is just strange, unfunny racism or transphobia. The humour in this type of game should be the easiest thing in the world to get right! And yet none of the lines are funny nor cool. This game's only real purpose is just to beat up and kill a bunch of celebrities the developers don't like. Again, the gameplay isn't bad, it just gets super old and repetitive super fast. I can't *really* recommend spending money on it. I have to refund this just on principle.

This is 20 minutes of content stretched to 2 hours through endless enemy spawns and repetition. You spend more than ten minutes just kicking boulders down a hill on more than one occasion, for instance.

One of the most repetitive games I've played. Doesn't deserve its excessive length, and is utterly unable to sustain interest throughout.

There's no reason for this game to exist, and I wonder if the people who crowdfunded it even know what the original Shaq Fu game even was. Well, it was a mediocre one-on-one fighting game that became a bit of a meme on sites like GameFaqs in the 2000s as a gag game because the entire concept is entirely preposterous. This reboot of the property is probably the most embarrassing thing Shaquille O'Neal has ever been involved in, and that's saying a lot considering he appeared in movies such as Kazaam (1996) and a Tom Green (2001) movie which I will not name here.

As a brawler beat-em-up it starts out decent enough but there's unfortunately no depth to it. You learn all of your necessary attacks on the first stage and aside from some environmental objects like boulders and enemy portals the combat never gets any more complex. I played on hard and found the middle section of this game infuriating because he kept jumping into the background and getting stuck or instakilled by swarms of enemies while doing a special attack. Shaq can punch, do a combo attack with some range, do a dashing attack and pound the ground. At some points he turns into a mech, kind of like the movie Steel (1997) that he starred in, or a cactus which is probably only because it was the closest thing that rhymed with the name Shaq. These are filler segments that are fun but take no effort to complete.

The story is occasionally humorous, but the fact that it never takes itself seriously is kind of what keeps this from being a good game. I think it would've been way more awesome if this was a super-serious Spawn-type piece of pulp media, with Shaq bludgeoning enemies as he battles demons in the underbelly of Chinatown and Hollywood. There are flashes of that inspiration, but this is a game where Shaq fights an alien butt in a thong as a boss, so it's just too stupid to take seriously even though I really think it would've made the game much cooler and similar to a cult classic. The only really funny running joke is that Shaq grows up as a Rickshaw driver in China and tells everyone he's Chinese.

Powerups, upgrade points and statistics would've also made this a good game. After level 2 you've really seen everything the game has to offer, but I will say that at least this game doesn't fall into the trap of a lot of fighting games by just being a repetitive button masher where the enemies never die. You can always see enemy health, and there are some tactics on hard difficulty even though they are stupid, usually keeping distance and luring the enemies over or jumping behind them as they finish their attack animations. The boss fights are all different and there's enough content here to give it a light recommendation as a budget game, but it's nowhere near among the great beat-em-up games or even a great action game in general.

This game no master piece must be played by every human on this planet. This should be shown to Aliens as a monolith to human achievement. Its its beautiful! TRULY BEAUTIFUL! Solid 3d graphics, cringe worthy comedy, endless hordes of enemy clones, and Shaq. What more could you ask for? Nobody's comparing this to a big budget product. It's arcady. Its just a mindless game for when you want to twiddle your thumbs. Nothing technically wrong with this game at all.

Pros:
- Has some gameplay creativity
- Parody of celebrity characters
- Highscore tracker

Cons:
- PC input popups to push a key can be confusing such as press A, D, or G when you don't know the mappings to your keyboard device
- Wokeness. It uses jokes such as Shaq stands out because of his size but avoids mentioning his obvious race difference to be overally sensitive towards Shaq. It would have have been better to have pointed out that he looked different because he was Black in China and identified as Chinese.
- Story is pretty meh. There are dumb scenes such as when Shaq talked to The Designer.
- Shaq looks like a meat head and closer to The Rock. It would have been better if he looked like his realistic SNES model.
- The cartoony art style of the models aren't very appealing. It looks like modern USA cartoons with disproportionate body parts and bright colors.
- SNES had more playable characters
- PC version is missing DLC
- The parody celebrity characters can be hard to identify their real life counterpart

Overall:
This game is just okay.

Esse jogo é maravilhoso apenas, eu gostei de tudo, das musicas dos cenários e do humor E PRINCIPALMENTE da critica aos famosos da época, o jogo pode ser curto mas é ótimo para passar o tempo. Eu amei as fases que se passam em Los Angeles sendo elas Sunset Strip e Bel Air a vibe é ótima e realmente o fato desses lugares existirem é o melhor. Então se esta pensando em comprar vá em frente COMPRE!!! vai por mim você ira gostar.
inclusive espero muito que no futuro lancem uma continuação ou algo com a mesma ideia só que com os famoso da atualidade ficaria ÉPICO!!!.

This game is just wonderful, I liked everything about it, the music, the settings, the humor and especially the criticism of the famous people of the time, the game may be short but it's great for passing the time. I loved the stages that take place in Los Angeles, the Sunset Strip and Bel Air, the vibe is great and the fact that these places exist is the best part. So if you're thinking of buying it, go ahead and BUY IT!!! I'm sure you'll love it.
I also really hope that in the future they release a sequel or something with the same idea but with the famous people of today, it would be EPIC!!!.

I was expecting cheap humour and cheesy plot, in fact i was counting on it, but the devs have no idea how to make an enjoyable beat em up.
charming and dum but not a good enough beat em up to pull it off, gameplay is dull & below standard in that it doesnt seem to understand any of the ideas behind why and how hitting people works or the different reasons for specific moves.
To put very simply avoiding bombs while punching people with agenda-less moves is not enough to be fun. it is close but the game turns to consciously pushing buttons very quickly & the feeling of enjoyment is missing, likely cause the moves dont match up to their expectations.

that spat the art was good & funny and voices as expected. so it aint empty, if yr shaq fan get ready to spam pad!
get on LARGE sale and play as a bordum killer

I'm not too found of beat'em ups, but this one pleased me. It's fun and the foes are interesting, some are easier to defeat with specific commands, which reward a varied playstyle. It could be more optimised though (it crashed once, and loading is quite long). The Barack-Fu DLC is also quite good, it's a shame taht it can't be bought by everyone!
It's a short game, but it's a good time.

Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn ist so ein Spiel bei dem man eigentlich großen Müll erwartet. Schließlich ist das Game im Grunde genommen nur aus einem dämlichen Meme entstanden. Jedoch haben sich die Entwickler tatsächlich die Mühe gemacht ein ordentliches Spiel abzuliefern. Das Brawler-Geprügel funktioniert gut, bietet eine angenehme Palette an Möglichkeiten und macht Spaß. Der Rest des Produkts kommt leider ins straucheln. Der fiese, provokante Humor zündet nicht ansatzweise so gut, wie es sich die Macher wohl gewünscht hätten. Viele der Promi-Karikaturen lassen sich gar nicht so leicht zuordnen und der Witz bestimmter Situationen ist einfach zu undurchsichtig gehalten.
Das größte Problem ist jedoch die bescheidene 3D-Grafik auf Basis der Unity-Engine. Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn ist so ein Spiel, welches negative Klischees zur Unity-Engine bestätigt und somit einen bitteren Nachgeschmack hinterlässt. Weitere Detailpatzer wie die Abstinenz eines Leaderboards und die damit einhergehende Sinnlosigkeit des Highscores samt sammelbarer Münzen, hätten beinahe den Blauen Daumen gekostet.
Dennoch bekommt man hier ein solides, kompetentes Beat 'em Up geboten. Für Fans von Brawlern, Shaquille O'Neal und Humor unter der Gürtellinie also durchaus einen Blick wert.

Pro:
- überraschend kompetentes Brawler-Gameplay
- drei Schwierigkeitsgrade, die auch tatsächlich bieten, was sie bezeichnen
- nette Cartoon-Zwischensequenzen und eine ordentliche Story-Präsentation für einen Brawler
- sehr Ohrwurm-lastiger und gefälliger Themesong

Kontra:
- typisch mittelmäßige Unity-Engine 3D-Grafik
- der Humor ist oftmals viel zu spezifisch um zünden zu können
- wird auf Dauer zu repetitiv
- keine Leaderboards

I'm just on the second level and I think it's a hilarious game so far. The dialog is funny and the convoluted story is the kind of stupid that I like. If you get it on sale and like beat em up style games from the 80s/90s, I think you'll be glad you got it.

This game is kind of old now and people don't really talk about it as much but was Shaq Fu really as bad as re remember it?

Well... its not good, that's for sure. Its kind of not even decent in some ways, but its not all bad either. It has an odd charm to it. This game came out about 5 years ago and it so clear that the world was SO different. Lots of things have changed in 5 years. For one I don't think this game can get released today and not get canceled on Twitter. Second, even though the game is kind of bad, it feels like everyone working on it had fun.

From the over the top, absurd story, to the animations, the voice acting, the crass humor (one of the bosses is a literal giant butt), the crazy parodies of celebrities, and just the fact that the game... doesn't seem to care if its not good. That's not to say the game is trying to be bad, just that if it is bad it doesn't care. Its still going to have fun with itself and I think that's neat.

Game-play wise its not much to write home about. Its very repetitive gameplay with little change, Shaqs move set is to limited to really be interesting to play or even effective in game. I think the Devs knew this because after the first stage there are so many sections with regenerating weapon items its feels like the devs knew it would be a tedious game if you just had to rely on the base attacks.

But the crazy story, bad jokes, and interesting animation clips and voice overs are sort of a reward to the dealing with the bad game play. Considering the game play doesn't last as long its not as bad you you'd initially think.

Bonus points for punching Nazis and Blaxploitation Barack Obama killing Kanye West. Oh I'm sorry, Con-ye as its spelled in the game.

You know if you haven't played it yet and can get it maybe on sale its probably worth to experience once. Nothing to write home about, but worth one play through I think.

Look, you know what you're getting into with this, this is NOT a brand that inspires confidence. I was one of many people who backed on Indie Gogo, and I did so knowing full well the end product would probably be a turd, but I figured they'd at least be able to get my name on it. Yeah, not only did that not happen, but the console version inexplicably got 2x as much content as the PC version, AND they gave it away for free to people who bought one of the NBA games that ♥♥♥♥ the bed that year, meaning I retroactively paid a premium for LESS content. The writing is... fine, but I grew up with the works of Tom Green, Kevin Smith, and Adam Sandler, so make of that what you will

It's p enjoyable. Went in with the expectation that the OG Shaq Fu was worse, and it definitely is. This one is more fun for sure. The humor is enjoyable too, poking fun at themselves and breaking the 4th wall and not. It's also a beat-em-up compared to the OG Shaq Fu.

With that being said though, it's super short...I popped it on to play it with the intention of playing more later, but I ended up beating the game lol. Took about 3 hours. I recommend picking up on a sale (I'd say this is a $15 game, personally).

Double with that being said, I can totally see Indiegogo backers being miffed about the end result (which seems to be where a lot of the negative reviews come from). Had I backed this and got this game, I would be a little butthurt too.

TL;DR: fun game, pick up on sale, enjoy the humor, live laugh love, etc

Culturally this game is as sensitive as a kick to the face, mixing any asian stereotype found in the book and having questionable accents on some characters. So if that's a deal breaker for you, look elsewhere.

But the game is stupid fun. It obviously doesn't take itself too serious and while not every punchline lands, i giggled more than i like to admit. The gameplay is pretty solid, with even some new aspects in a brawler. And i dig the visual style.

It's kinda puzzling though why a coop mode was omitted, as that's pretty standard in the brawler genre. Still a good game.

Not a bad story and music.
The battles are not bad, the hero should be faster.
There are some bugs.
The degree of difficulty does not affect achievements.
It's good that it's short because it quickly starts to repeat itself.
There are no upgrades and quite long achievements.
With a big discount, the game is better.

I didn't give this much of a chance when it was announced. Like others, I hated Shaq Fu and wondered why in the world they decided to bring it back. But it was available for a dollar so I figured why the hell not.

But the game is actually pretty entertaining. Its silly, offensive, funny and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy. If you're sense of humor is slanted toward the dry, dark and offensive side you'll probably enjoy this. The animated cutscenes are fun to watch too. Yeah a couple of memes are outdated, and the combat is mostly button mashing, but the real star is how stupid and ridiculous everything is. And it pulls it off. The two product placements fit perfectly and were really funny.

Plus the main theme sound sounds like he says "rip some ass".

This game isn't good, but it isn't bad either. For $19.99 it is not worth it. It feels like a game that you'd play on one of those arcade machines in the movie theater for a few quarters but with some graphical improvements to account for when it was released. The humor is a bright spot, Shaq is a funny guy and I think his sense of humor really comes out in the game. But, the gameplay isn't nearly compelling enough - it's good that the game isn't too long because it would become absolutely exhausting if it were much longer. I'd say maybe if you're a Shaq fan or a fan of these arcade-type brawler games then give it a shot when it's under $10, otherwise just pass on this one.

Comically violent, encourages you to win. Couple of gags, plus the diesel himself get a lot of hits. Punch, kick, use item, throw barrel, roll boulder, get mech'd and turn into a cactus. Calls out the Fast franchise and features a whale. You need to disconnect then reconnect your controller for the triggers to work.

처음 공개가 될 때 개인적으로 많은 관심을 가졌지만
지금에 와서 플레이를 해보니 정말 아닌 거 같습니다.

이상한 버튼과 구르기가 있지만 기본기나 콤비네이션에서 구르기. 점프가 캔슬이 되지 않으며
수많은 버튼에 비해서 무언가 쓰는 재미가 있는 게 하나도 없다는 게 함정

더군다나 적을 처리하면 돈이 나오지만 오로지 "점수"일 뿐...

어떤 업그레이드나 스킬을 배운다거나 그런게 하나도 없습니다!

그냥 단순히 P-P-P... 특정 버튼으로 콤비네이션이 되기는 하지만
플레이하다 보면 다 알게 됩니다.

그래픽이나 스토리 라인에 애니메이션을 만들어 넣었다는 건 칭찬을 하고 싶지만...

솔직히 좋은 게임이 될 수 있었다고 보지만 그러지 못했다는 게 너무 아쉽네요.

Когда купил эту игру то думал она мне не понравиться...НО только увидел заставку и крутой саундтрек понял что игра даже по первому впечатлению отличная. Поиграл в первый уровень и не смог просто остановиться ! Это один из лучших представителей Beatem-up наравне со Streets of Rage-4 не смотря на очень низкие оценки игры у критиков я даю игре 10 баллов из 10! Купил и не пожалел потраченных денег!

Its crazy that this game even got made, its certainly way better than the original. It is far from a perfect game, but does have a bit of charm and a little nostalgia. If you can pick it up for a discount I would suggest picking it up, its a fun little beat em up.

This game surprised me. It was actually quite fun. Also, I'm someone who thinks Shaquille O'Neal is NOT FUNNY, but the game's humor amused me and had me chuckling throughout. This is definitely only for those looking for a quick playthrough and a single player beat 'em up experience. Steam says I spent three hours on this, though I feel like it was a little longer. In any case, it was the right duration for the game. It doesn't overstay its welcome.

[h1]The GOOD[/h1]
Really nice graphics. Nice detail and colorful.
Controls were good.
Fighting was relatively basic but had enough to keep me going given the limited duration of the game.
Checkpoints were spaced out pretty well.
Fairly good variety of enemies.
Fun power-ups. They were way over-powered, but I think that was purposely done.
As mentioned before, humor was a plus, which surprised me. I thought some of it was clever and witty rather than juvenile.

[h1]The BAD[/h1]
Nothing really stands out as being bad. If this were a longer game, I would expect more variety, but for the relatively short length of the game, it was good, mindless fun.

[h1]The NEUTRAL[/h1]
I would have liked a screen-clearing special move like what you see with games like Streets of Rage. That said, some of the aforementioned power-ups were so OP'd that they were similar to this.
