Лучшая из своей серии. Многое, чего не хватало в прошлых частях таки добавили в последней (на момент написания обзора), хоть и не до конца довели до ума. Движок не стали менять, а это могло помочь во многом, но да и фиг с ним. В целом, доволен этой игрой, не хватило лишь более разносторонних вариантов решений некоторых квестов. Беда со стелсом не радовала.

Pretty good game
A damn fine game that continues the legacy of Returns and Dragonfall. For the love of god though, DO NOT PLAY THE EXTENDED ENDING DLC. The epilogue plot is hilariously binary in its final ending options for no real reason and spits upon basically everything you and a certain someone went through in the base game by destroying your relationship over a single decision that has a laughably obvious compromise the writers either somehow didn't consider, or didn't want to allow. It also cheapens some of the ending arc of another character by effectively undoing his sacrifice. Just left a really poor taste in my mouth with how they just couldn't let the original ending be.

A very solid RPG. In combat, good tactics and character building are rewarded and the narrative does a great job at giving opportunities to be clever with information you discover during exploration and dialogue with various NPCs. The writing gives each characters enough time and attention to make them feel fleshed-out without having them take more screen time than would be appropriate for them.
Aside from the original game back in the day, I have only played Shadowrun Returns. I know a lot of people did not like the hacking/cyberspace part of that game, but I didn't mind it. I had little else to compare it to, so I thought it was fine. The hacking, for me, in this game is unplayable. I don't even want to waste my time on the game if that is a part of it and don't want to try to avoid it because that was a major (and one of the coolest things) part of and awesome thing about the original Shadowrun.

non en fait il est très bien sauf qu'il est en anglais.... et qu'il le traduiront jamais en français ni ne laisseront des fans le traduire...
Alors oui je lis l'anglais et j'ai même un ou deux jeux en anglais, mais la c'est de l'anglais mélanger de termes techniques et d'argot et de blagues des rues... c'est incompréhensible...
Bref l'éditeur de moque littéralement de notre tronche et je pense que dorénavant je vais boycotter tous leur jeux parce que je ne supporte pas de donner de l'argent à des gens qui se moquent de moi.
Was probably the game that was in my backlog for the longuest time.
Tested it once a few years ago and found the first hour rough on the edge, especially on the QoL part.
But I'm very happy that I gave him a second chance because this game is really a blast
The "Matrix/Decking" content in this is utter garbage. I really CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH; trying to use the kludgy controls to "sneak through" is BEYOND frustrating. For this ALONE I'd say stay far, FAR away from the game... it's really that bad.

Well this is my first run on Shadowrun Hong Kong and I must say I like it. I don't know what the order of the Shadowrun Trilogy was, but I thought this was the second one. Anyway it's getting interesting. Shadowrun Hong Kong starts out with you and your foster brother, Duncan who is a cop by the way. you are both looking for your foster father in Hong Kong after he leaves you a message to come to Hong Kong right away. The story takes a twist and you basically get erased from existence and become a Shadowrunner, working for the Triads. It's more non-linear than Shadowrun Returns as you have a choice in Shadowrun's and I guess this is the beginning of things to come. Shadowrun Hong Kong plays just the same as Shadowrun Returns with a turn based combat system which can be a challenge at times and You'll die often when you are just starting out. It plays in a top down view and the story is already better than Shadowrun Returns and I like how it starts out with you becoming a Shadowrunner. Anyway, I'm giving this game a thumbs up, and now I'm going back to the Shadows

Great for people who enjoy story driven, gritty games. It's no xcom in the strategy department, but that's not really the intent, Great RP title.
I liked this one, but I think it ranks lowest out of the trilogy. The main story is pretty interesting but it is the least well developed out of the three. Most of the game is reserved for runs that have nothing to do with the Walled City and its secrets so the end stretch feels abrupt and unearned.
Even then, the secondary missions are all fun and engaging. The set of characters is diverse and fun to play with (except for Gobbet).
In summary, although I was a lot more invested in Dragonfall and in Returns, I had fun and it was well worth it.

One of my favourite games of all time.
Having played the previous two I can say this one spoke to me the most. It streamlines and optimizes a lot of the jank from Returns and Dragonfall, and the art has improved a lot too, especially if you compare it to Returns. The music is also on par with Dragonfall, if not a little stronger in parts. The encounters do feel reasonably challenging on normal. I got through it reasonably well but still had to use my brain in some of the more tense encounters later on.
It's still a bit more light on the mechanics compared to other CRPGs like the ones from Owlcat or Larian, but where it really shines is its writing, especially when it comes to its characters. Every single one of your crewmembers and associates has something interesting going on. This extends even to the player character, since they have a predefined past which they can process in their own way. The main and sidequests really help flesh out its setting, mixing real life history with fiction. Between sabotaging a megacorp with feng shui, investigating murders around a zombie samurai for technopriests inside an abandoned shopping mall and befriending a B-Movie directors vampire secretary there's a lot of really unique sidequests to go through.
Where it falters a bit is the strength of its main story. The mystery about Raymond and Kowloon Walled City is still really well written but just not as tightly paced as taking up Monika Schäfers legacy in Dragonfall. Also while the writing can be good, it can go overboard a bit with some of the side characters.
Also while it finishes some loose threads, I don't really care for the extra content added by the definitive edition. There's still some great stories and characters in there but overall I just think it's just not as polished and ends on kind of a sour note with a binary decision that just doesn't quite feel earned.
Mechanically there are still some issues grandfathered in from the other games as well as some new ones. I appreciate the attempt of the devs to make hacking a little more involved, but playing simon says to break code was maybe not the best call. Luckily hacking is for the most part optional.
But yeah, overall I still had a great time with it and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who likes mechanically lighter but well written CRPGs.
I play on a high res monitor and the ui is so small even with the scaled hud and zoomed in to the max i have hard time seeing; tiles for aoe attacks, health of the enemies, enemy chat bubbles. You can't rotate the angle of the view and the buildings on front the blocks the tiles enemies are on. Running animations are just bad. It has no voice over so you have to read the tiny pages of story and npc dialogues and they are not really short. How am I supposed play this game?
I have had to give up on this game as well, similar to dragonfall, because it is still far too easy to lose fights due to things completely outside of your control. as it turns out I really only liked returns because the game was not long enough, and the combat encounters not spammed enough, for me to realize how bad the combat in these games actually is. the last straw for me that made me give up on this franchise as a whole is that I was in a fight where the entire enemy team got heavy cover on their side while I had light cover at best, and this translated to either running in suicidally or staying in subpar cover while the enemies cant even be hit usually and if they are it's for half the damage. they should not be adding combat encounters that are not well designed into a combat system designed around pure luck at worst and a heavy dose of it at best because that is a truly deeply unfun combination. if the games were redesigned from the ground up to have more stable and reliable mechanics as opposed to the dice rolling RNGfest it is now I might stand some chance of eeking out enjoyment since I do enjoy the world and characters but as it stands it's like frolicking barefoot through a field with the occasional rusty nail in it. not worth the risk.

I think it's better than Dragonfall in most aspects since the story is not that much "worse" than in Dragonfall, I did skip the most dialogue and concentratetd on finishing the game, next time I play it I will read more, that's the best way to do it imo than trying to read every-single-thing on first playthrough
It's much easier than previous game (on normal difficulty) due to some party members having really powerful skills, being able to insta-kill stunned enemies etc...

This game is fkn amazing, best one of the three by far , the companions are one of the most interesting in the genre and the dialogue varies crazy depending on your choices and who you take with you. Buy this if you like CRPGs, so sad this is the last one in the series
I loved all the previous Shadowrun games but this one was tested by mentally challenged monkeys. This game crashes constantly. Doesn't matter what I do or how long I play, it just randomly exits. No other game I've ever had in over 40 years has crashed more than this game. Secondly, the loading times are a joke. It can take over 2 min to load a previous save and transition areas also take extremely long to load. The sad part is I almost made it to the last mission but got a corrupted save file that would not allow me to continue. Everything about this game was a chore and took forever just to do basic stuff. I play games for fun and this was anything but.

This game just like Shadowrun Returns has been siting in my library since 2018. Played Shadowrun Returns for about 6 hours, that was enough to see that even a minute more invested in this series is wasted. Don't recommend these games, go buy Pillars 1 or Pathfinder Kingmaker.

Я думаю, все согласятся, что Returns можно признать худшей в серии, так как выглядит она как сырой прототип. Собственно, из-за этого у меня и не хватило сил её завершить.
Dragonfall оказалась тем, чем и должна быть серия Shadowrun — бюджетной партийной RPG. Правда, до больших игр жанра, даже старых, ей было далеко — не хватало масштаба. Но игра была достаточно приятной.
А вот Hong Kong не смогла стать такой же приятной игрой, хоть и внесла некоторые положительные изменения.
У игры практически убитая экономика и распределение предметов. В Dragonfall за игру вы могли собрать 50 000–60 000 нюйен. Этого хватало, чтобы купить лучшую экипировку, промежуточную, и ещё оставалось на компаньонов. К тому же на миссиях было много расходников.
Тут же у нас на игру около 20 000, что сильно влияет на все покупки. Можно забыть про промежуточную экипировку и уж тем более про новые предметы для компаньонов. Да и предметов на локациях практически нет.
Hong Kong дала возможность передавать предметы во время миссии, чего не хватало в Dragonfall, но по описанным выше причинам толку от этого изменения нет.
Немного изменили систему киберимплантов, и их стало больше. Но тут всё опять упирается в экономику.
Киберпространство получило пару крупных изменений. Если раньше это была отдельная локация со сражениями, то теперь к этому прибавилось две новые механики: псевдостелс (как основная) и взлом — мини-игры. И мини-игры, на мой взгляд, крайне раздражающие: «повтори последовательность» и «найди похожее». Старое, примитивное киберпространство мне нравилось больше.
Игровой процесс серии, по сути, состоит из двух фаз: сама миссия и фаза пост-миссии, когда обновляются диалоги у NPC. И тут всплывает ещё один категорически неприятный момент. Объёмы текста в игре увеличились в разы. У меня создавалось ощущение, что я играю в Planescape. Большую часть времени я тратил не на сами миссии, а на чтение текста после них.
Конечно, их можно пропустить, и читать их не обязательно. Но всё-таки это сюжетно-лорный элемент, и без него теряется часть ценности игры. К тому же диалоги с компаньонами дают доступ к их квестам, что, в свою очередь, приводит к дополнительным бонусам для них. Ну, а диалоги с прочими NPC могут давать дополнительные очки прокачки.
И раз уж я упомянул квесты компаньонов и бонусы за них: в Dragonfall был выбор из двух разных вариантов награды, а тут сократили до одного.
Структура игры осталась старой: несколько вводных миссий, заменяющих пролог, основная часть из случайных забегов и пласт финальных сюжетных миссий. Хотелось бы в этом месте каких-нибудь изменений. Больше проработанности.
Да и в целом сюжет мне показался менее интересным, с плохой проработкой подачи некоторых моментов. Хотя тема игры с магическим уклоном интереснее темы драконов. При чуть большем масштабе всё это можно было сделать аккуратней и интересней — буквально добавив несколько сюжетных миссий.
В конце концов, в игре четыре концовки, а различий между ними практически нет. Опять же, в Dragonfall плохая концовка была действительно плохой концовкой.
По мелочи: странный баланс точности. В первой половине игры — пара точных атак, и противник умирает. А во второй начинается какой-то XCOM. Мало того, что средняя точность компаньонов находилась чаще всего в районе 60%, и поднять её нормально не было возможности, так ещё даже при 70–80% было слишком много промахов. Да что уж там: я даже при 99% умудрился промахнуться несколько раз.
Добавьте к этому ворох багов, которые могли как подпортить прохождение, так и сломать его. Чего, опять же, в Dragonfall мной замечено не было.

Having played through this again, I feel these Shadowrun trilogy games are in my top turn based tactics rpgs for overall enjoyment. Not too complicated, playing different characters is fun, good representation of the Shadowrun world, good stories, good music, some choices matter, character advancement allows you to pretty much try any combinations of skills/abilities. All good. I wish there was more, but I will settle for playing through it again a different way next time.
I'm torn about this game. Good parts: 1) The gameplay has been refined and there is good build variety. 2) Missions aka gigs have multiple ways to approach them so there is replay value. 3) Reactivity is good and your choices may later bite you. Bad parts: 1) Most gigs are not that interesting and feel disjointed from the overarching plot. 2) The plot itself is mid for the most part and only gets interesting in the last mission. It didn't have moments of positive surprise like in Returns. 3) The characters are pretty forgettable, including your companions.
It is not that long and if you are a fan of cyberpunk, it is worth getting it on sale and playing at least once.
Harebrained Schemes makes some pretty amazing games and their Shadowrun games are no exception. I really wish they'd make another, but I heard they don't have the licensing anymore or something? :(
good story
I liked the game a lot. Story is great, it always had me wanting to find out what was going to happen next. Big fan of the hub world from which you take missions, feels less sprawling than other crpgs and makes for a nice gameplay loop. It is very hard, I think, but that might be because I have zero clue what I'm doing.
I'm going to play the rest of these now so take that as a solid recommendation.

It's just not got nothing to really lift elevate it to a wortwhile experience. The combat system is functional, but not remotely exciting, and is best skipped completely, the hacking minigame got improved - but not in a way that wouldn't have made it being completely removed a much better improvement. So, the only thing that is left to carry it is the story, and unfortunately this one doesn't live to the premise.
It is interesting and alternative, dialogues are still intelligent, but the pacing is bad. What is more, the depth is superficial - there is the usual thorough escalation at the end, but even then, it is a mostly surface level experience. Sure, it's a glossy surface, but I still found like it was an RPG experience where I lacked the ability to make nuanced choices. The game bets a lot on trying to make itself more immersive for the player by adding him into the story with an introduction of an adoptive parent and father, but that didn't have me half as immersed as I was in Dragonfall with an empty backstory and the feeling that I actually affected circumstances around me. Basically, for an RPG to be good, I want to actually get to feel like I am shaping the story, not to be told how the story is about me without really feeling it, you know?
It's made worse by the -awful- DLC. It feels like cut content, but is intended to wrap up the story. In the main story, the ending had a flatter feeling ending than Shadowrun Returns - and SH Returns was almost a tech demo, so imagine how poor of an experience it felt. But the DLC completely failed on that regard, giving us the ultimate choice with zero nuance, and overall actually managing to make the overall taste of the experience even worse.
Ultimately, Dragonfall was the best this series got, and if you are wondering which of the three to buy, only buy that one.
Great game but falls short where Dragonfall rises especially in areas such as the grim fantasy storyline, combat challenge and character backgrounds! If you are a Shadowrun fan, you will also love S:HK for game art, story and evironment! For newcomers, this can be a great intro to the Shadowrun universe or you can start with Shadowrun Returns. Kudos to the devs! 7/10

Hong Kong is damned good, but I still prefer Dragonfall. Maybe it's because Hong Kong's overworld is slightly larger, and its NPCs slightly more verbose, which throws off the pacing between missions?
A solid follow up to Dragonfall that manages to improve on the original, while still maintaining the lore and worldbuilding that made the first game great. Again, if you are a fan of Shadowrun, you can't go wrong with this game. I'm hoping Hairbrained Schemes decides to make another one.
I have a lot of mixed feelings regarded this title. On one hand, there is a lot of interesting narrative and character backstories to follow in it, but on the other the pacing felt. so. sluggish. at times... The neverending dialogues between missions made me feel like nearly every team member and Heoi dweller wanted to tell me their life story. So, if you are planning to play SR:HK, be prepared for a lot of reading.
The actual shadowrun scenarios were fairly varied and interesting, a few of the goofier situations even got a laugh or two out of me. The combat was engaging and I appreciated how you got Karma/XP for completing your goals and not for killing enemies - lack of any combat rewards really made it feel like talking or hacking your way out of various situations was the superior choice.
But, speaking of hacking... I don't know whose idea it was to put a bunch of action minigames inside of a turn based games, but to me they were neither fun nor interesting. I remember hacking from Shadowrun:Dragonfall and it felt a lot better without the action elements.
So, it's a mixed bag, but considering all three parts of the Shadowrun Trilogy, it definitely felt more interesting than the barebones Returns. However, I felt that it was a downgrade compared to Dragonfall. Fans of the setting probably will want to play all three, but if you're new to the series, I'd recommend starting with Dragonfall and making your decision whether to play the rest based on that.
Ah, and the bonus/free DLC campaign was a good addition - I felt as it was better paced than the original, plus it gave a few nice challenging battles to give the player more opportunities to play around with the endgame gear. So if you do end up playing SR:HK, don't pass on that one.

- В ней пососный геймплей за декера (хакера). Привыкнуть можно, но пару раз таки подгорал в процессе.
Однако если ты сам не декер, а на эту роль берёшь Из0бель в свою пати, то не можешь выбрать набор программ, с которыми она пойдет в Матрицу (киберпространство).
- Прохождение Матрицы - чистейшая езда голой жопой на тёрке. Самая слабая часть игры.
- Если ты пришёл в эту игру после нетраннерского угара в КП2077, то тут о подобном можешь забыть.
Я мог направить на врага лишь один "скрипт" - повышение шанса попадания по цели.
Единственный плюс игры декером - весьма жирные плюшки за успешный взлом.
- Если любишь пылесосить локации и таскать кучу лута, то забудь. Каждый раз, когда можно что-то поднять и положить в инвентарь, тут ощущается как маленький праздник.
- С лутанием денег та же история. Изредка можешь подобрать, но большую их часть дают за выполнение контрактов. Кому-то норм, мне же на средней сложности приходилось постоянно выкручиваться и экономить на грани духоты.
- Нельзя самому распределять поинты на своих сопартейцах. Их прокачка упрощена до (икскома) 6 уровней, на каждом из которых ты выбираешь один из двух перков плюс небольшая пассивная прибавка к статам. И да, я не зря вспомнил про икском - в здешних боях тоже частенько возможны бесячие промахи.
- Так как не можешь сам распределять поинты на сопартийцах, то в лейте не все из них смогут пользоваться топовыми пушками.
- ППшки и вовсе показались мне бесполезным мусором, а не оружием (Даже когда Гоббет докачалась до своего максимума, она все равно скорее попадёт в своего, чем во врага. Либо попадёт, но урон зачастую мизерный)
- Сопартийцы имеют "сохранённый" набор экипировки, но менять его... Да, тоже нельзя! В начале каждой миссии надо каждому, ручками, выдавать нужные предметы в каждый свободный слот.
Вместо "залоченной" пушки или одежды можно поставить свою, на в каждой миссии это будет сбрасываться.
Нужная экипировка сохраняется только на твоём персонаже.
- Нельзя выбрать стартовый набор предметов. Мой декер с упором на огнестрел первое время бегал исключительно с каким-то сраным мачете.
- Миссии с ограничением времени (кол-во ходов) присутствуют. Несколько штук, но после второго икскома всё равно раздражают.
- Пришлось накатить русификатор из мастерской Steam. Перевод хорош, но местами неправильное употребление -тся и -ться неприятно режет глаз.
Самые сильные части - атмосфера, сюжет и приколы в диалогах при прокачке харизмы. Ну и в местной боёвке разобраться довольно просто.
Я вышеозвученные минусы затерпел и прошёл в целом с удовольствием.
Скорее рекомендую, чем нет.

Mechanically is the best of the series. It's the least open in terms of your character, as it's much more focused on a predefined story, but the quality of the story is enough to overlook that fact. The mystery is interesting and has enough twists and turns to keep you engaged. Great writing and atmosphere.
It has the best hacking mechanics of the entire trilogy, which was a bit of a pain in previous installments, but here it's quite entertaining. As for the rest of the mechanics, it's the Shadowrun you already know, fun tactical combat with multiple classes and loadouts.
It also has free additional content that expands the story beyond the ending, allowing you to find out what happens to some of the characters after the main story, that's always a positive on my end.
The Best of the Trilogy. A Great narrative and fun missions
Bugs, even so many years after launch.
Although Dragonfall is the one dearest to my heart of this triology, I ended up liking Shadowrun Hong Kong a lot more than I thought I would. It has the same strengths as Dragonfall: Tight atmossphere, great writing, interesting companions, good music and those little human moments that make this setting truly come to life. This one definitely has the most refined gameplay too. If you liked the prior two games, playing this one is a no-brainer.
I also highly recommend checking out the usermade campaigns: Enemy Of My Enemy, The Caldecott Caper and CalFree in Chains. (The last one has music from Invocation Array, which is a match made in heaven imo.)
This game is a masterpiece. The story, the characters, the visual style, the music - all it combined made a unique atmosphere. When you complete the game you feel a bit sad that its already over. Ten years after I still hope that Harebrained Schemes make another Shadowrun game.
Getting 100%(**) was ok but it ended in frustration at idiotic design decisions.
... And even though the mini-games are more polished in this one, I personally liked Dragonfall better.

** The main game can be finished with 3 outcomes.. Bad/Good/VeryGood. Now you have to take each of these end-game saves and run them through a 5-10 hour campaign... 3 Separate times... What Idiot thought this was a good idea? Of course you don't get the worst ones if you complete the ideal one ... You'd better believe I used save games I found on the internet for the less Ideal paths... I don't have the patience for this.

* Most of the achievements in this game are extremely specific and order dependent. If you don't know exactly how you are going to get it you'l likely never get it. I used multiple guides (and got a bit spoiled) just to make sure I didn't miss any and I still ended up missing a bunch. The good part is...
* The save system is mostly branch-safe and as long as you're dilligent about keeping tons of saves you can always go back and get what you need. HOWEVER...
* If you have more than 50~ saves then the game slows down to a crawl when saving and loading. FYI.
Sorry. It's clear they gave this to the B-team.

Как и в других частях, много нарратива, когда у рандомного NPC можно выведать все детали его жизни,
Как и в других частях немного сомнительное решение по управлению командой (им нельзя покупать броню, а оружие можно лишь "давать в аренду", да и то, если у персонажа есть для этого свободные слоты, также вместо прокачки у них выбор "перков" на каждый уровень),
Я решил, что буду проходить трилогию разными персонажами - первую часть за человека с винтовкой, вторую - за эльфийку-мага, третью - за "кибертролля", который дерётся в ближнем бою (при этом с харизмой и интеллектом на минимальном уровне) - получилось достаточно интересно,
Игра проще второй части (из выбора уровня сложности убрали "very hard" - на "hard" играть достаточно легко) - чуть сложнее становится только в дополнительной кампании, Босс основной кампании тоже довольно простенький... так что в целом можно рассматривать игру, как хорошего кандидата на "расслабиться и получить удовольствие". :)

Shadowrun was one of the Most awesome TTRPG and this Game brings the spirt of the RPG to the CRPG world.
I loved the SNES version of Shadowrun back in the day and I was one of the original backers for the Kickstarter for Shadowrun Returns, which ended up being a bit of a letdown because the game mechanics were a bit too simplistic, the story too linear, and the whole game a bit too short. Still had fun with it, especially since it had some callbacks to the original game, such as meeting the main character form the SNES game as an NPC and so on.
It's been years since I played Shadowrun Returns, but as far as I can tell this one looks and plays a lot like that one. I'm having fun with it, the story and the characters are interesting, the tone from the original tabletop game and its SNES iteration is spot on, and the systems are similar to what I remember. My only complaint is that I really don't like those missions where one of the objectives is to have all your team survive or you get an automatic game over, because this kind of game loves to pit your really small ill-equipped crew against much superior forces and it's very easy for one of your characters to die due to a little bad luck.

Well the end of the trilogy and arguably the best game in it, I have a few complaints and 'what could have been' regarding the divide into a trilogy killing any momentum UGC had but overall I really love those games, in spite of them feeling rushed or slightly incomplete.

Поржал с некоторых достижений ("Wouldn't wanna be this guy!" — ачивка за одновременно отравленного, подожжённого и электризованного врага).
Худшая часть игры по-прежнему — декинг. Всё, что связано с матрицей, невероятно скучно и затянуто (плюс штатный декер Изобель самый неприятный персонаж).
Азиатский вайб (с фен-шуем и прочей азиатской мифологией) кому-то зайдёт, кому-то нет.
Буду ждать новую игру Harebrained Games, пусть уже и не по Shadowrun.
You can clearly see that Shadowrun is a magnificent RPG with a lot of potential and truly interesting gameplay. The world-building, atmosphere, and mechanics show how much depth the game offers. However, it’s not really my style, so I didn’t play it for very long.
Still, I fully recommend it to anyone who enjoys this type of game or is looking for something unique within the genre. It’s definitely worth trying if it matches your tastes.

Dragonfall had better writing (Ambrose rules though), but this had better mechanics.

Gute Shadowrun-Story, aber viel, viel englischer Text und viel, viel Dialoge mit noch mehr englischem Text. Außerdem ist die Trefferwahrscheinlichkeit genauso theoretisch wie beim Vorgänger Dragonfall. Es nervt einfach bei 80%+ Wahrscheinlichkeit 2x von 3x nicht zu treffen. Gerade weil es einige Missionen auf Rundenzähler gibt, macht es das noch frustierender. Aber ich denke das Spiel ist zu als das noch gefixt wird. Also, wer sich Frust ersparen will, der greift zu Shadowrun Returns und spielt dort Kampagne und Fanabenteuer.
same as the others, fun games and cool mechanics all but the story was miserable. all the characters stunk, they only spoke in bad cliches, and the exposition was way too much.
I don't really feel like writing anything tonight, but Steam isn't letting me post a simple "Yes" recommendation, so let me just add here that this is probably my favourite Shadowrun PC adaptations (and not just of the three that this studio produced.) Great gameplay, great music, cool world building, and all that jazz. Sure, a game like this can't replace the good old tabletop rpg experience, but it comes quite close.

В первой части это: Никогда не доверяй мервецам.
Во второй: Никогда не заключай сделки с драконами.
Здесь же это: Держи хвост пистолетом и все такое, йоу.
9 крыс из 10, взлом придумал разработчик, записавший код на туалетной бумаге, пока у него была диарея, не иначе.
Shadowrun: Hong Kong reiht sich nahtlos an seine Vorgänger. Harabrained Scheme zeigt wieder mal, daß ein gutes Spiel nicht durch eine tolle Grafik, Spezialeffekte und aufwendige Zwischensequenzen mit Snychronsprechern definiert wird.
Obwohl die Dialoge nur aus Text und einem "Paßfoto" der Redner bestehen, sind sie spannend und man liest sie durch im Gegensatz zu moderneren Spielen, wo man Texte/Dialoge gerne mal überspringt oder ignoriert.
Die Dialoge, die eigentlich auch den Großteil der Story ausmachen, sind sehr gut geschrieben.
Gespielt 10+ Jahre nach Veröffentlichung und immer noch gut und aktuell.
Tip: Wenn man mit Guide spielt, sollte man darauf achten, daß der Charakter/das Team die Anforderungen für die "Tests" (Etiquette, Attribute) in den Dialogen größtenteils erfüllt. Ansonsten kämpft man sich im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes durch das Spiel, was Zeit kostet. Aber manchen Leuten macht ja vielleicht gerade das erst recht Spaß...
Gespielt auf PC unter Linux Mint 21 mit Photon 8.0-5, d.h. die Windows-Variante im Kompatibilitätsmodus.
Die Linux-Variante läuft nicht mehr (richtig), da benötigte Komponenten aus aktuellen Linux Versionen entfernt wurden (Quicktime).
Ich empfehle auch die SRHK Bugfix Compilation aus dem Workshop zu verwenden.

Third game from this company and it only gets worse. Absolutely broken as heck! No surprise their games wasn't a success. These devs are horrible at creating games that actually work properly. Another game that I had a 99% success to hit and I missed. This happened several times. But it's funny how the enemy hits almost every time...lol! You can't make this up. I will never buy anything from these devs ever again in any format. They are just dumb individuals making a quick game to make a quick buck. They have no real talent and it is obvious they don't have a passion for RPG's. Just sad, very sad!!! Yes I get this is an old game and nobody cares about this review. However maybe the devs see it and go play in traffic for their creative laziness!
Oh yeah! Early game after being sniped, you have to escape into an alley. It's not even an alley!!! It is a freaking double door in a building!!! This is how lazy in their writing they are! LMAO!!!

И снова то же самое, какие-то мелкие исправления недостатков из прошлых частей, но основные проблемы исправлены не были, а они всё те же: интерфейс, ИИ, стены текста с водой, отсутствие геймплея, примитивная прокачка. Очень жаль, ибо сеттинг и атмосфера кайфовые, но играть в это тяжело.
game is very fun. feels like you're playing a tabletop campaign, just... not on a tabletop. good pacing, inventive missions, huge character variety. feels like reading a good book and intermittently playing XCOM.
I did have a bug right at the epilogue where my character sheet was somehow usurped by Duncan... making me a clone of Duncan for whatever reason. but the game's a decade old, you take what you can get.
3/10 максимально затянутая скучная и линейная игра, шаг назад от Dragonfall'a, который наверное лучший в серии, но эта часть даже скучнее первого Return's. Не рекомендую. Свободы по ощущениям стало еще меньше, просто как визуальная новеллка.

Hot take perhaps, but I think this game is peak Shadowrun and yes, by that I mean that I prefer Hong Kong to Dragonfall in almost every aspect, except decking.
This game is saturated to the brim with Shadowrun's atmosphere, from the music, to the NPCs, to the companions, enemies and locations. Everything (except decking, that got a bit worse) has been improved: cybernetic augments, magic, build variety, combat, weapons, systems, fluidity and missions.
I'm normally not a fan of oriental settings, but this game just clicked. I struggle to pinpoint exactly what it is that makes the game so appealing, but if I had to guess it has to be probably the social dynamics between some great characters, my favourite of which is Kindly Chen. The whole Shadowrunner side of things was a bit wishy-washy in Dragonfall in the sense that it was a very generic and "in the background" thing, whereas in Hong Kong you actually feel part of the criminal underworld: a cold, brutal and unforgiving place where, after a time, you'll eventually fit in. It's so satisfying to see how you get gradually acknowledged by the people around you, gaining both respect and admiration. The focus is more on you in this game rather than an opaque mystery that plays like a detective's movie, which makes you feel more involved in the story at a personal level, especially through the character of Duncan.
To this day, at times, I think about Shadowrun: Hong Kong, once in a while, and end up googling if there is, perhaps, any news about a new title in the making. Shadworun has great potential, especially now that cprgs are a bit less niche. Hopefully someone will pick up the torch and give us something new without compromising the complexity and articulate nature of this beautiful setting.
This game is great. It can seem simple at times to other RPGs and you can't loot bodies, but the story is (). It also has more than campain plus a bouns expansion. Highly recconmend the workshop content Calfree in chains its a fantastic

一本写得相当无聊的可互动小说，魔幻+赛博的结果就是：不古不今，不中不外，不伦不类。
一开始展开的主线剧情就不吸引人，生死未卜的老头是主角兄弟俩的养父，但是没给出任何情感刻画，只是大壮哥哥不断重复“爸爸是我仅有的一切”，而主角却看起来对老头感情很淡漠，所以我对老头的生死也不是很关心。接下来暂时跟着香港大姐头安定下来，开始接一个一个的小任务，这个形式看起来非常激动人心，但第一个查案任务就给我无聊到了，这个游戏咋就有这么多冗长的对话？叙事效率奇低无比，车轱辘话来回说，文字是要有趣才有读的价值，这个游戏点开十个NPC都是一样的调调，各种堆砌赛博名词显得这个世界观高大上，但完全无法让人产生任何情感上的波动。
支线剧情也是极其浅薄又罐头，不能体现世界观，在上一次任务中有两个支线，一个是帮女大学生完成她的毕设，她的课题是风水（这个游戏描写的中国文化总是很神经质，为满足老外猎奇），修复三处风水，听着高端其实就是修坏了的电缆，拿沙子灭火。另一个是帮助被恶霸欺负的老爷爷抢回他的拐杖，这到底对世界观有什么贡献？
而编剧又想表现他们对世界观构建高度重视，就不断往台词里塞赛博名词，或者当地“中华文化”，偏偏人类情感很少，整体都让人感到情感淡漠。不说像仙剑那样总是写人与人的情感，玩了十几个小时连个让人想念的人都没有，可见就是叙事失败。

能让我不弃坑的最主要的原因是这个游戏还真有写得好的小人物，一个帐篷里藏了好多玩具的可怜的无人机小贩（就连他的玩具都刻画得那么让人心疼），以及一个贵州人（前炸药研究员，因为研发的炸药被拿去炸了自己的老家而精神崩溃，沦为瘾君子，最后又振作起来去帮助战争孤儿）。但那些给了很多笔墨的队友反而无聊到爆。
赛博型队友有两个，想要删除自己记忆的伊莎贝尔，反社会人格无人机俄罗斯人，这两人的写作风格很相似，都是赛博信徒，支线任务也都一样的无意义灌水。相对来说伊莎贝尔还有点故事性，俄罗斯人从认识他开始他就只会甩给我充斥着赛博名词的胡言乱语（反而是那俩窃取了他成果跑路的同事还挺有趣）。
古代型队友也是两个，鼠萨满小女孩，感染了食尸鬼病毒的日本武士，这两人的剧情相对还算扎实（因为没法堆砌赛博名词，只能老老实实写故事）。鼠萨满的个人剧情和《雪国列车》高度相似，乍一看戈比想毁船不合理，但这是具有隐喻意味的，被异化的鼠王是被power异化的，暗示了未来顶替她位置的人也一样会被王位异化。
主线剧情真的没意思，大壮哥哥也是越来越神经质，实在没法对他产生什么兄弟情。
整个游戏试图塑造出来的“中国风”都像我小时候看的那种发挥想象力的扯淡网络小说，地狱的十九层什么的。在这个高度赛博的世界里，阎王爷不仅存在，还有好几个。

The sleekest yet slowest of the trilogy games with a lot more reading than Dragonfall had. Unless you’re hooked on the Shadowrun universe already, you may get tired of all the exposition Hong Kong has. It’s to the point I would recommend Dragonfall over Hong Kong for new players, which balanced story and gameplay better I say.
Every time I finished a mission, I took it upon myself to chat with my team who have enough brand new dialogue enough to wind around a short book. The option’s cool, but a little tiring given I want to see all they have to say, so half my session would be playing and the other reading in the safeboat.
The game’s presentation made big strides over Dragonfall with cutscenes, Matrix changes, and more evocative locations like the Walled City. The characters are life-like too. Although I did not like is0bel and Gobbet at the start, I did grow to care for them which I think makes good writing that you can make readers “turn a new leaf” on characters.
So in conclusion, if you loved Dragonfall or Returns, this game does great for hardcore players. I think Dragonfall is better overall though with the pacing and gameplay to exposition dumps Hong Kong does.
If you don’t do what I did and read every optional inch of dialogue after dozens of missions, yeah it’s still great. I also learned that incredulously, Harebrained Schemes lost the rights to Shadowrun! Big mistake by the publisher, Paradox, because these devs made works of art and I love the turn-based RPG gameplay they made here.
