A fantastic sandbox experience with a lot of interesting challenges to try. The amount of times I completed an objective I had, such as finding one of the many medals around, I managed to complete in an incredibly random or complicated way, before finding what could have been the intended solution. The game is an absolute recommend, and any issues are solved by the dev's amazing support. Me and my friends had a multiplayer problem and he took the time to help test the issues and help us fix it.

My fiancée always says you should look at the [b]negative[/b] reviews for a game you're considering to buy, and man should I have listened to her. For an Overwhelmingly Positive game, Wizard Boy hardcore misled my expectations.
This isn't a game like the early Harry Potter games. Not even close. You're dropped into an impressive physics-based sandbox with some cursory lore and if you're like me and wanna explore every nook and cranny, you're probably gonna die in the next 5 minutes. That's okay, I had decent fun just bumbling about and dying at the start, but for some reason there's this insanely annoying mechanic where if you've died 7 times, you've failed your "week" and the entire map gets reset, save for the pieces for The Door. What's the reason for this? You can fart wrong and die to a mine or missile you didn't notice. Why punish experimentation? For realism? We have foregone realism when we made 10 year-olds MI6 agents already. Just put the respawn in the bag, lil bro.
What I just described [b]IS[/b] the entire game. Platforming is utter ass as you can't ledgegrab like in the HP games, and fall damage is pretty unforgiving. You start with an absolutely [b]pitiful[/b] amount of health so a plank falling on your head can kill you. You're just finding bits of clues and lore in between random deaths like in some sick parody of a roguelike. The map is "coming soon" so you're constantly getting lost in the samey castle, too. I have a lot of nostalgia for the HP games and I thought I could relive that glory ethically by supporting an indie developer. This isn't it. What this is, is a sequel to Gmod.
I checked the dev posts for upcoming content and they're only talking about putting more toys in the sandbox. They put literally [b]ALL[/b] their eggs into the sandbox basket. And don't get me wrong, those are some really good fkin eggs. But the Harry Potter aesthetic is lowkey misleading.
Well, hey. Maybe some of us curated content enjoyers will have a game to play by 2028. I [i]desperately[/i] want to love this game.

Extremely fun and silly chaos sandbox. Great with friends. Only a couple hours of content so far but there's constantly updates coming out and they look extremely entertaining. I look forward to watching this grow and spiral into something even bigger, more complex, and more chaotic.
