已艰难全成就，长官！我从来没想过能把轮滑和射击这两个元素融合在一起，而这个游戏不仅做到了，而且毫无违和感。反乌托邦的背景下，让运动员穿着轮滑在运动场射击竞技的死亡表演赛，Fame or Death，用死亡竞技麻痹控制大众，很有意思的设定。

游戏主要是让主角穿着轮滑在竞技场一边利用地形做出各种酷炫的动作一边击败敌人，游戏设计的动作很酷炫，操作很流畅。略有不足的就是角色成长有限，解锁4种武器后角色就没有其他成长机制了，新鲜感略有不足，不过流程不长又弥补了这一点。

正常游戏难度较高，不过好在游戏内置了官方修改器，开启只影响能否联网上传成绩，不影响挑战完成和成就达成。所以只要你熟悉了机制，哪怕手残也能在这个游戏轻松全成就。（真的不吃操作，就是有点磨人）

剧情是我喜欢的反乌托邦，美术好看音乐也不错，玩法也蛮有意思的，有子弹时间也有辅助瞄准，虽然是推荐控制器但是我还是喜欢键鼠多一点

缺点就是后期跟前期比除了怪多点稍微难点之外没啥大差别，越玩越无聊（特别要是刚开始玩喜欢刷分收集到后面就更坐牢了
有个令牌挑战也是，明明我令牌也触发了动作也做了，但是就死都不算我成功，看别人视频一样的动作一下就触发成功了，感觉是bug

不能说是推荐，但也不至于差评。感觉制作组蛮用心的，但是后面选择堆小怪而不是搞新boss就很虎头蛇尾（明明流程也不长嘛，是没钱了吗.）便宜了体验一下蛮值的

I don't know with this game, I got it on sale but I just don't like how the controls feel. Especially in the air you can only do one backflip and the auto aim rarely shoots where you're actually looking. Also the lay off situation is awful and I cannot recommend anyone buying this game because of that. Otherwise clearly a lot of love was put into this but I'd need to adjust all of the controls as they just feel super unnatural to me.

One of the coolest games I've ever played, it's best thing since Hotline Miami. So easy to get into yet so challenging to master.

Despite universal acclaim from critics and audiences alike, as well as winning a BAFTA award, every dev was laid off. I was unaware of this before purchasing on steam. Do not buy this game. Nobody whose talent went into this game will receive a single cent.

Игры в жанре экстремальных видов спорта, особенно уличных - это в целом уже настолько редкий жанр, что появление любой новинки вызывает любопытство, но Роллердром - это в целом уникальный случай, который умудрился уместить в 4-5 часов прохождения абсолютно зубодробительную сложность вкупе с великолепной визуальной частью. Firstly, I'm reviewing this based on the game itself, you should consider not buying this game and 'obtaining' it through other means, due to 2K screwing the devs over. It's honestly a bit overpriced at $30 when not on sale anyways.

Rollerdrome is a strange retrofuture mashup of Jet Set Radio and Max Payne, being a third-person shooter with bullet time mechanics on rollerskates. From the outset, the visual style is simple yet striking, and a lot of the game's UI gives a lot of cohesion to aesthetic. There are a few story bits but the meat here is the gameplay, I honestly found the 'story' to be far too disconnected to the fun the game offers.

The gameplay here is super satisfying when you get it right and hit that sort of 'flow state' where everything clicks. The early levels aren't too tough and the challenges are a fun way to stretch the admittedly little content on offer, with 11 levels in 4 distinct environments. I found the difficulty curve through the opening stages and quarters to be nearly perfect. The latter half of the game...I don't know, I know it's a skill issue on my part, but I really could have used more fleshed out tutorial on weapons/enemies because the latter half gets really messy. It's fun, but the difficulty spike is a bit much at times and turning on the assists feels a bit lame (glad they're there for all players though).

It's a lot of fun though when it's working. The shooting is excellent, the movement does the job though some of the level design and the way Kara moves through it can be a little janky, and doing stunts for ammo means you're always doing something, there's not a lot of idle time in this game and when coupled with the soundtrack, makes it very intense.

Overall, I liked Rollerdrome despite some flaws with the difficulty and level design. It's rough at the edges but it is an interesting piece of art with a banger soundtrack, and I feel sorrow for all the devs at Roll7 who put their love into this game only to reap very little of the reward.

Wowie, This went by like a blur!

Hearing that this game combined elements from Jet Set Radio and Max Payne, I knew I had to play this. Although I would say this game is more like Tony Hawk and Control. Either way, this game is a blast to play!

The gameplay is really addicting, even though it can be overwhelming and really difficult sometimes, but I liked the challenge. Everytime I failed, I kept going and going, trying to crack each level in the best way possible to an obsessive degree. I didn't really feel all the time I spent in-game go by. It was really satisfying and cathartic to finally win though.

There's not much story in this one, only partial moments of narrative and world-building. It really feels like this is just a teaser for a fully realized sequel though (I really hope one does come). I do wish it was more focused on. There's only enough to just get you going. The artstyle and minimalism aesthetic is really cool and fits the dystopian tone that this game is going for. Everything feels cold and calculated, but in a very stylish and cool way. The music is really nice, but to be honest, I didn't really pay attention as I was too occupied by the gameplay and performing. But to give it proper credit, I like the synth and disco vibe of the soundtrack. I'll definitely be checking it out more sincerely. It really added to the overall experience and feel of the game.

Overall, Rollerdrome is a solid and addicting game with a lot of personality and replayability that is only held back by it's lack of a fleshed out story. I played this on my phone (god bless emulation) and The ultrawide made it soo much more enjoyable in my opinion. I am gonna be continuing on with it for a little while longer before I move on to the next game.

God, I'm bad at this. But it's excellent.
Sharp, focused, full of cool ideas and 'easy to grasp hard to master' mechanics.
It's a hard to nail down mix of using skating tricks in the combat economy loop & a scoring system.

Highly customizable difficulty & accessibility options, but the default setting feels just right for the most part even for a complete newcomer.
Fully customizable controls, incl. full keyboard support + double/alternative bindings - controller recommended, but keyboard does indeed work (if probably slightly more difficult to attain movement/jump precision).

the later levels do pile it on a bit thick - enemy count, enemy density, it does become a bit hard to keep track of - the difficulty curve becomes more of a difficulty overhang.

But the visual style is clear & crisp, player feedback is excellent (outside of me being in information overload the odd time or two), music bangs, and the little narrative / worldbuilding segments are implemented very neatly.

J'ai trouvé le jeu très sympa, ce mélange de roller avec des guns où pour avoir des minutions il faut enchainer les figures et très bon.

Le jeu se prend en main facilement à la manette même si dans le feu de l'action on peut s'embrouiller un peu (entre le saut, le grab, les sticks, le tir...) car il faut parfois tirer en faisant une figure tout en esquivant une balle avec un grab si on veut recharger un max. Bref, un petit temps de prise en main, il ne faut pas hésiter à rester un peu dans les zones de test.

Ce que je n'ai pas aimé du tout, c'est le côté défi pour progresser dans la campagne. Faire telle figure, tuer 3 bonhommes avec le double revolver après les avoir étourdis au pompe...c'est vraiment le genre de truc qui me fait abandonner le jeu. Il ne suffit pas de finir l'arène, il faudra la refaire et la refaire pour faire tous les défis, qui parfois en jeu passent au second plan tant on essaie déjà de pas se faire tuer. C'est donc de ce fait que j'ai abandonné alors que j'adorai le jeu. Dommage !

It's such a shame that Roll7 who poured their soul, blood and tears into this fantastic game has been closed by 2K.

Have you ever heard of a movie called Rollerball, where athletes compete in a bloody game of extreme sports that permeates with death? Well this game is like an adaptation to that interesting premise. It also has the mechanics of third person shooters that are smashed with the tricks system of Tony Hawk Pro Skater. The aesthetic and overall presentation is also top notch and it just stands out from anything that I played in a long long time ago.

Damn! the more that I talk about the game, the worse I feel about Roll7 and how their candle have been snuffed so prematurely. Therefore, I highly recommend that you pirate this game because the original devs don't get ♥♥♥♥ from it.

Overall, because of the unique premise and the fantastic gameplay of the game, I give it a 10/10.

I would definitely do a 720 angle grab trick, while blasting the brains out of a house-player using my plasma canon again!

It sucks that we live in an era where publishers prioritize profit and trends over new ideas and innovation. It's criminal that Roll7 was shutdown after producing this amazing game. I beat it in one sitting but it's some of the most fun I've had in a game in a while - and I play A LOT of games. The ambiance really adds to the experience too with its art direction and loose narrative that allows the gameplay to shine front and center. The momentum and acrobatics are wild and super satisfying to mix with trick shots for some unique moments. The only real complaint I have is the game being a little short but it's probably better that way.

I played for close to half an hour. It looks absolutely stunning. The art style is phenomenal and the animations are buttery smooth. I give them credit for making a game that looks and feels awesome. The premise is super fun, you're in a roller derby with guns and have to kill enemies to succeed.

However, the game just feels super repetitive. The game isn't challenging at all. It looks and feels great to play but I feel like you experience everything the game has to offer really early and after just a few levels, I already feel like I'm just going through the motions. The whole point of the game isn't necessarily to kill and survive, well it is, but it's so easy to do that it's not the real point. The point is to complete challenges by killing a particular way or maybe to perform a certain trick in a certain area like in the Tony Hawk Pro Skater games.

I give them credit for making a game that looks stunning and feels great, but they need to rework their game and level design to make me want to come back for more.

This game is a must play for fans of the original Tony Hawk Pro Skater or Jet Set Radio games who also like third person shooters like Max Payne.

Basically you have to clear stages by eliminating all enemies while on roller skates. You replenish ammo by doing tricks and you increase your combo multiplier by getting eliminations. On top of this you can also trigger slow motion at will. A very addictive gameplay loop.

The cassette futurist style is also very cool. The game takes place in the 2030s but stylistically looks very 1970s retrofuturist.

The story is told in brief first person segments. It's quite interesting but I won't spoil it.

HOWEVER.
The publishers (Take Two) shuttered this studio and laid everyone off despite the accolades the game received. So buying this game will not support the people who made it. So consider other means of playing it.

Rollerdrome is one of the best games I've ever played. The movement and mechanics are absolutely perfect. I love the way I can just throw on some ultra intense music and un-alive some npcs. If this game was developed to include multiplayer co-op pve, that would be aMaZiNg.

Never thought I would feel anything less than completely stoked with this purchase... Then I heard the news, and now 2K is on the list of companies I'll avoid giving money to as much as possible.

It's so disgusting how these companies throw around millions and billions of dollars buying and selling each other, then turn around and lay off the people who [b][i]actually generate all that value.[/i][/b] Constant cycle of over-hiring and layoffs, just so some greedy goblins can cook their books a little more at certain times.

We used to get everything on the high seas (I mean everything), until they came up with better distribution models. I want to support the incredibly talented people who create this stuff, so it felt good to pay. Now it's starting to feel like I'm just supporting fat bonuses and golden parachutes for the people who least deserve it.

I'm not doing that anymore. I'll support devs directly where I can, but I'm not supporting the greedy, exploitative AAA slop factories anymore.

Might as well give this space to something more deserving:

One game I am supporting directly is Star Citizen. You can laugh, call me a cultist or shill or whatever - but the whole point of SC was to do the opposite of everyone else, cut out those greedy middle men, and make the best game possible. It's taking a long time, they have made plenty of mistakes, and the plan has changed along the way, but that's simply unavoidable for such a project. It was always supposed to be ambitious, but when the funding went to the moon it pulled out ALL the stops with it. When you're trying to break into new territory, you can't exactly schedule and blueprint everything. Truth be told, we're lucky there's even a developer crazy enough to actually try it and stick with it.

All things considered, Star Citizen and CIG are the real deal. It's hard to look past our well-earned cynicism and believe it. But no other developer has both the funding of a AAA and the freedom of an indie to do all the things gamers [i]say[/i] they want devs to do: be ambitious and innovative, give it the time it needs to be the best it can be, and only compromise when there is no other choice. It was created to be an answer to the AAA grift... and it's working. It's finally getting somewhere, and it's a uniquely enjoyable experience to play... which is why people put up with the unique amount of bugs.

Sure, you know what, I'm a shill. I'm shilling for SC because it deserves it, and you should check it out. It's $45 minimum, and has an [b]extremely generous 30 day refund period with no limits on play time.[/b]
Or you can catch a "free fly" event several times per year. Absolutely zero risk. If it was a "scam" like some people still say, it wouldn't give you 30 days to refund.

And no, you never have to spend $$ after the starter. You really don't. People like me do because we genuinely want to support it. I did so you don't have to. And the other thing people don't know: You're not actually "buying" anything when you "buy" ships with $$. You're only pledging a dollar amount, and then you can "melt" your ships into store credit and try something else whenever you want. Imagine any other game doing that.

It's an easy target to poke holes in, but the reality is nobody else is doing anything like it, let alone doing it faster or better. It's the Anti-AAA.... so, AAAA?

A fun and unique game that has a great aesthetic. The gameplay flows really well, the maps are fun and performing different tricks and combos feels rewarding.

I will say that the pricetag is fairly steep considering how short the game is, but I guess it depends on your completion level (I finished the main campaign after ~3.5 hours). There is a second campaign/NG+ mode but honestly by the time I reached it I felt like I was satisfied and finished with the game. Get it on sale, its a lot of fun and worth it for a discount.

It is a very stylish blend of genres. Very unfortunate about the studio. But it is worth playing if you can get cheap g2a key. I will say that doing all the challenges etc is difficult, which is not a bad thing. It offers a sense of achievement. But you are going to have to learn the trick and combo system and stay on your toes.

Just playing it makes you feel cool. You feel like an acrobatic rollerskating rockstar, when you are in fact a crab on a couch. It can get so difficult sometimes it verges on frustrating (wanted to peel my face off a couple times), but the more you play, the better you get, and the more satisfying the whole experience becomes.

Цікаво, що в перервах між серіями матчів, гравцю дають можливість походити від першої особи по деяких приміщеннях й ознайомитися із різними деталями, що трохи розкривають задньоплановий сюжет.
Після проходження основної гри, відкриється альтернативний режим із ще більш хардкорним геймплеєм.

Long story: This game is simply amazing
You shoot your enemies, gracefully, in the air, while pulling off an indie 900, rockets all around you, the smell of gunpowder mixed with blood and also burnt wood cause the polybeam scorched the quarter pipe, you shoot him too. . .

Main campaign isn't long but with the second campaign comes great challenge and the game has replayability

I have done 2 missions and I love it!
I grinded out the challenges and went back to get S rank on the first one.
If you like the tricks you can do in SSX with the spin/rotation and simplicity/complexity then you'll probably like the movement in this game.

Though it is more forgiving than SSX on the tricks, the main game is about survival of challenges. As you get good at that you can go for scores. Slow time to shoot enemies, bar recharges instantly to keep the tools at hand, and tricks refills your ammo while you ride around the map.
Controller is Highly recommended. I'm using an xbox 360 controller.

I'm conflicted: I only heard about Rollerdrome through a YouTube video essay detailing the corporate skulduggery after its release that resulted in the entire Roll7 team getting laid off (allegedly) but....this game is so unique, and difficult, and satisfying, and endlessly replayable. And that's before you get into the visuals and the music, which are the 1983est I've felt since, well, 1983.

This feels like a labour of love and the team deserved far better. I should stand by my principles but I can't stop playing it...

Love the art style. Very fun gameplay loop. Fun to go back and play old stages and complete challenges once you've gotten better at the game and unlocked more weapons. Pretty short story, i beat it in <5 hours while going back and doing some early levels again, but each level is well designed and its got a solid difficulty curve. Now that I've completed the main story I have the Out For Blood mode to still play.

Very fun arcade-style game thats great for short sessions.

Lots of fun! High action gameplay with a good learning curve. The levels are designed in such a way that you have to keep improving to keep up with what the game throws at you later on. Very well designed. I enjoyed it a lot.
