Это какая-то смесь карточной игры и Tower Defense, где ты ставишь башни, собираешь колоду и молишься, чтобы враги не прорвались раньше, чем ты разберёшься в механике.
Вроде бы идея интересная: защищаешь древние артефакты, используешь заклинания, прокачиваешь карты, но реализация такая, что первые несколько уровней я сидел и тупо тыкал во всё подряд, надеясь, что компьютер сам разберётся.
Когда начинаешь понимать, какая карта, с какой башней сочетается, игра начинает затягивать, и ты чувствуешь себя тактиком, который разруливает ситуацию, а не просто зрителем на поле боя.
Но сначала придётся попотеть: интерфейс не самый дружелюбный, туториал объясняет ровно половину, а остальное ты должен догадаться сам, как будто разрабы проверяют твой IQ перед покупкой.
Если вдруг мой отзыв наберёт 50 лайков и 10 наград, я: поиграю 100 часов, значок улучшу и реально пойду в церковь, поставлю свечку разрабам, чтоб они и дальше клепали крутые проекты, а не только дразнили нас кусочками, а пока - на любителя, но если любите карточные стратегии с защитой башен, может и зайдёт.

A couple of things to consider when buying this game:
- there is no options/settings menu. Can't adjust audio ingame.
- Outlines of the towers doesnt match with the lines of the enemy wave.
- There was a weird thing going on with the targetting of the towers.
- Camera is only from one point
- To make things worse, the mouse sensitivity was through the roof and because the lack of an options/settings menu, you couldn't adjust that ingame!
- Overlap of the text of the Cost of an upgrade and the upgrade button itself. Both were hardly readable.

Rise of the Ancients пытается быть «самым хардкорным TD», но на деле выглядит как сырой и скучный проект на Unity. Играть можно ради карточек или из любопытства, но как полноценная стратегия - игра не выдерживает конкуренции с более качественными представителями жанра.
Рекомендовать сложно, разве что по скидке ради коллекции.

It's about as low effort and boring as a tower defense game can get. There are numerous issues besides the low-quality, asset flipped visuals and poor English translations. For instance, there isn't a settings menu whatsoever. You can rotate the camera and see the black void or randomly placed white boxes.

Sound effects are not limited, i.e. every tower is allowed to play it's low quality shooting sound at the same time with no cap on how many are playing simultaneously. One of the most insulting low effort parts about this is the UI, it's just the Unity default theme. There are no icons for anything - towers, life, etc. Life is just a small label that says "Life: 5" at the top.

This isn't even worth a minute of your time. Go play one of the similarly priced Bloons game instead.

The "strategy" involves memorizing enemy patterns, similar to memorizing a tax code. Towers behave like rusted cannons that fire wet noodles. The "diverse levels" consist of the same barren fields that are copied and pasted until your soul becomes fossilized... Wow, well this is probably the worst tower defense game I ever played and I have played plenty of terrible games.

The price also got increased in December 2023 from 0,90€ (not worth it even then) to 4,99€ for no apparent reason other that it can seem you are getting a better deal when they discount it 90% off. You don't.

Works fine on Linux with Proton (Proton 4.2-1).

Vamos a ser francos, si estás buscando por algo que te mantenga pegado a la pantalla, esto podría no serlo… salvo que encuentres fascinación en ver cómo se puede hacer tan poco con una premisa que prometía mucho. El juego tiene sus momentos con puzles que te harán pensar, aunque tal vez, pensar en por qué seguiste jugando después de las primeras dos horas.

I am 32 years old.

My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.

When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.

Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.

With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.

After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.

Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.

Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.

Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

ever since i bought this game for $0.49 it won't escape my mind. while i'm eating i think of this game, when i watch tv i think of this game, as i'm sleeping i DREAM of this game, i have frequent nightmares where i'm running from hundreds of those birds through the forest, while that calming but ominous music plays in the background, i see destroyed towers all around nothing to hide in or rest in so i keep running, but they always catch me. when i try telling a friend or family member how much this game has hurt me, all i can spit out is "you should really try Rise of the Ancients, its actually pretty good" something is wrong with me and i just wanna feel normal again.

It's a tower defense with the presence of a doppler effect. You can make an educated guess as to how professional this is based off of that.

That said, it works pretty well for what it's going for. The game is extremely simple, one of the simplest tower defense games I've ever played. If you wanna waste an hour or two on a boring day, pick this up if it's on sale. I got it for 30 cents, and 30 cents for a mindless 2 hour game is pretty good mileage imo. Or just play Bloons, whatever suits you best

Crude, ugly and bare bones.
It doesn't help that winning requires you to memorize the order of creatures coming, as only one exact order of tower placement seems to work, making it more of a weak puzzle game than a tower defense game, when it comes to playing it.
The look is mildly interest, though you can't really see the critters.
The towers appear to be identical except that the tower that hits fliers has a yellow outline around it. They also don't appear to change as they level. Worst of all, the targetting is so bad it will cost you levels you should have beaten.
It has no fluff, no interesting decisions or choices, no tactical options, and no way to exit, either. A sure sign of a poor effort.
Two thumbs down.

o be honest, I don't see how it's different from a browser game. I recommend the game, don't get me wrong, but the game is completely lacking in many aspects. Even in the settings, there are many features that should be there. I was able to spend a long time and actually enjoy the game, but it can be annoying when basic things are missing. Don't expect too much, but there are much better tower defense games at this price. Of course, you get the price of the game thanks to the cards you drop. The game can be considered free.

其次画面表现力与时代脱节。画面质感和图形细节并没有跟上现代游戏的标准，单位建模粗糙，场景渲染平淡，过场动画更是显得简陋，这对于一款以描绘远古文明壮丽景观为核心卖点的游戏来说，无疑是一种硬伤。
