Loved the first one and this is the kind of sequel I enjoy. Takes mechanics, design and themes from the original and puts a new spin on it. Makes me play the original again, but in a good way. More hectic time based experience in the first one and a slower more puzzle-like with this one.

If you either liked Reus or other games by the same developer you will most likely enjoy this one too.

Un bon petit puzzle game vraiment détente, pas si simple si vous jouez en mode défi.

Vous contrôlez 3 géants, ou divinités, qui ont pour but de terraformer une planète pour la rendre habitable et profitable par des humains. Vous créez des biomes (forêt, jungle, désert, savane, mer, neige, etc), et chaque biome possédant des dizaines de ressources différentes, vous devrez les placer dans des cases juxtaposées pour générer des synergies entre elles. Voilà d'où vient l'aspect puzzle game. La place est limitée, à vous donc de calculer en fonction de l'espace et des désirs des tribus qui s'installent et évoluent.

Il y a de nombreux archétypes de tribus (scientifiques, guerrières, à la recherche de trésors, etc) et toutes voudront quelque chose de différent. Elles devront cohabiter sur la planète et vous devrez leur placer les ressources les plus adaptées à leurs besoins, en respectant la biodiversité. Vous les verrez ainsi évoluer à travers les âges (3 chapitres) avec un défi planétaire à remplir à chaque fois. Le nombre de tours par partie étant limité, vous arriverez à la conclusion en obtenant un score, qui vous permettra de débloquer encore plus de nouvelles ressources ! Animaux, roches, plantes, vous aurez vraiment de quoi faire, et chaque ressource offre des stats et des synergies différentes.

Les tribus s'industrialisent, évoluent, peuvent même déglinguer la planète suite à certains événements et défis. Elles pourront même agresser les géants si elles s'estiment mécontentes des ressources qu'elles ont, mais vous pourrez toujours les calmer à coups de feux de brousse ou de séismes.

Le jeu est vraiment plaisant, et une partie durant environ 1h-1h30 max, il est idéal pour des sessions pas trop longues.

Les dev ajoutent régulièrement des Mises à jour gratuites, et aussi quelques DLC payants (moins de 10€) qui donnent accès à des nouveaux biomes, de nouvelles ressources et de nouvelles tribus si vous en voulez davantage. Le jeu est donc bien suivi.

Un jeu vraiment sympa pour se détendre en solo !

I really like Reus 2.

You play as 3 immortal giants, who place 'biotica' (plants, animals, and minerals) for humans to exploit on a planet to grow their cities.

The biotica have synergies. Put a carnivorous ocelot next to a gerbil and you'll get a bonus for thinking your ecosystem through. Lapiz lazuli like to be surrounded by other gems; clownfish like to be next to anenomes. As you progress through the game, your planet becomes more biodiverse - a score the game tracks, which allows you to place more powerful biotica.

The eras really bring out the completionist in me. You can make your people become paleolithic farmers, hunters, philosophers, or early iron-age industrialists, amongst many others - and that's just the first age. Your cities and leaders (of which there is one per city) can speciailise in science, food, or money.

It's just a really excellent game, and one that I would recommend if you're a working gamer - if you have a full time job that doesn't quite allow for Victoria 3 or Civ VI, this might scratch a similar itch with more of a nature focus and less of a time commitment.

tl;dr: negative review for antisemitic content.

I really loved this game. One of the very few where I've managed to get all the achievements, and then kept playing because it was so satisfying to build a cute little world. When the Ice Age expansion came out, I bought it immediately; the same for the Everglades. That's where I hit something that just... killed my love for the game.

Each play-through is divided into ages, and at the start of each age you select your objectives. The later ages usually have more and more complex requirements to meet to be able to pick those objectives. The age 3 objectives tend towards utopian or dystopian - there's an objective that summons an eldritch Lovecraftian tentacle monster, for example.

In the Everglades dlc, one of the objectives involves shape-shifting snake-people taking over the world with mind control rays. It's a very tired antisemitic conspiracy theory, and, well. Gross. I did send feedback - the team knew, but decided, eh, no-one would care.

I've not been able to play the game since. I've not bought the third dlc. Steam still advertised it to me recently, though, and I realised I really just missed the experience of playing this game - I just. Can't. Wish they'd just take it out of the game entirely.

Reus 2 is an optimisation game, rather than a 4X civilisation building game. As long as you know that going in then you can’t be too disappointed. You get a limited number of moves to place enough plants, animals and minerals to provide the necessary yields so that your cities can develop and fulfil the tasks they set you. Each time you run out of turns then you enter a new era that comes with its own objectives and resource priorities to guide your development in that period. It’s cute to the point of almost being cosy, but the optimisation requirements keep it from being too cosy (though you can play a sandbox version of the game if you desire).

I like the way the game gives you a set of long and medium term goals to work towards. You have the over-arching era goals for the long term, while the individual city tasks and their inspirational project requirements give you medium term priorities to work towards while still contributing to the era goals.

Higher difficulties demand a degree of planning and efficient play, but they’re not obnoxiously brutal, and you often have more options to solve problems than you realise. As long as you focus on completing city tasks efficiently, and make synergistic era choices, you shouldn’t struggle too much to finish all the era goals.

The first two eras feel quite restrained in terms of the resources you provide to your people, but the third lets you drop biotica that can put out thousands of the resources you’re looking
for, which feels very satisfying when you get there.

Overall, it’s a solid optimisation game with a cosy civilisation building coating of paint. Gives digital board game vibes to a certain extent, and certainly won’t be for everyone, but I’ve enjoyed working through the achievements a plenty.

This is a bit of an oddity. I'm happy enough to recommend it on its own merits, but I think it's more of a reimagining of the original Reus than a sequel.

I get why they made some changes - it's definitely a better game without having to constantly pause to conserve a timer, and it's definitely more straightforward only having to worry about the individual biomes rather than how they interact - but whether the changes are improvements, in the eyes of returning players, will pretty much be a matter of individual taste.

That said, this game makes for a nice little building puzzle, where you use your giants to set up biomes full of plants, animals, and minerals to help the humans set up thriving settlements. Each settlement gets a leader that shapes how it advances, primarily based on one or two of three resources, So, for example, if the settlement is highly food-oriented, you're mostly going to be giving them various plants and animals in their territory, rather than minerals - unless those minerals make their neighboring plants and animals more productive, of course.

That's the majority of the game right there. Sure, there will be "age challenges" to meet for additional meta-progress and unlocks, including additional minor game systems, but there's nothing that really throws a wrench into the basic gameplay loop. Once you've got the basic systems down, the biggest changes from one game to the next will be which biomes are available (based on which giants you select at the start of a planet) and what things you fill those biomes with (between a semi-random starting set and whatever you manage to pull from your unlocked options during the game).

Five planets in and 13 hours of game time spent, I like it for what it is. If you're on the edge, but worried about running out of things to see and do, I haven't hit that point yet... but there's also multiple DLC packs that would help, should it come to that.

Very fun take on the civilization-builder genre. If you like games like Civilization but you're looking for more manageable play sessions, this is definitely a game to pick up. A planet can be played to its conclusion in 60-90 minutes.

There's a bit of room for improvement in the clarity and UI department, but once you find your way around the game it's all very forgivable. 8/10 would recommend.

Jogos maravilhoso que consegue mesclar bem a combinação de simulador, estratégia e roguelike.

A princípio ele parece um jogo bem casual e simples, porém conforme você irá jogar perceberá que ele tem muitas mecânicas únicas, e cada mundo que você cria passa por uma experiência diferente dos outros.

O fator replay vem das condições de cada era que a humanidade avança, com novos desafios, seus líderes que tem seus pontos fortes ou fracos, diversidade de biomas que seus gigantes trazem e também pelo ajuste da dificuldade, sendo em dificuldades maiores um jogo bem desafiador.

Confesso que gostei tanto desse jogo que devorei ele em duas semanas, e estou agora com vontade de jogar o Reus 1 só para poder elogiar ele também :)

This is a rare sequel that is actually great!

It is slightly different from the first but all the magic is there and more. They added a few new mechanics, new combos, and of course many new things you can create on planets. There are more giants with their own perks than in the first Reus.

An excellent upgrade from the first from top to bottom. The Devs did a great job. They sticked to their recipe and did not go trend-hopping or monkey-see-money-do.

Dans Reus 2 on incarne mère nature qui, via des géants, crée des écosystèmes pour permettre à l’humanité de prospérer. Un peu à l’inverse d’un city builder : ici vous créez les ressources qui seront automatiquement exploitées par les villes humaines.

D’un point de vu du gameplay, Reus 2 emprunte d’avantage au jeu de plateau qu’au jeu vidéo vu qu’au final il associe principalement 2 mécaniques :
- le placement de tuiles
- le choix d’objetifs
La richesse du jeu vient du fait que chaque tuile génère des ressources, des mots clés et d’autres objectifs tandis que les objectifs sont partout : globaux pour gagner le jeu, dans les villes ou sur les tuiles et font appel à tous les éléments contenus dans les tuiles de façon varié et créative permettant le développement de nombreuses synergies.
Chaque placement de tuile (au nombre restreint: environ 60 par partie ) est donc un casse-tête permanent visant à valider un maximum d’objectifs en un minimum de placements pour marquer un maximum de points (sous la forme de prospérité des villes humaines).
Il est également possible d’empiler des tuiles représentant l’évolution des écosystèmes, d’ajouter des micros pour améliorer ses tuiles ou de changer les biomes pour varier les synergies.
Le jeu est riche, complexe et présente un challenge solide dans les niveaux de difficulté les plus élevés. Le principal défaut est le manque d’explication de certaines subtilités dans les mécaniques mais le système de sauvegarde rapide permet de tester par soi-même pour voir comment ça fonctionne.

Reus 2 est bon comme l’est un très bon jeu de société solo. Et venant de moi c’est un joli compliment.

Jeżeli ktoś szuka gry z gatunku "god game" to polecam Reus 2. Zagrywałem się w jedynkę, a teraz ogrywam dwójkę. Gra ma fajny interfejs, a pojedyncza rozgrywka (planeta) trwa w miarę krótko (około 2-3h) co uważam za zaletę. Rozgrywka za każdym razem jest inna - w zależności od tego jakiego przywódcę i olbrzymów (mamy 3 podczas gry) wybierzemy oraz w jakim kierunku potoczy się gra (są 3 ery, z możliwością wyboru opcji podczas przejścia między nimi). Gra jest losowa, ale nie jest to zabójcza losowość RNG. Jest dużo rzeczy do odblokowania - ja uważam to za plus. Jako, że są 4 poziomy trudności można grać na totalnym luzie albo zarzucić sobie większe lub mniejsze wyzwanie. Widok 2D powoduje, że mogę grać na 10-letnim pececie, aczkolwiek czasami komp dostaje zadyszki (pod koniec rozgrywki zazwyczaj). Polecam również fanom strategii/city builderów/management games.

Great chill strategy game. A bit tighter on strategy elements and a bit more balance, some bug fixes, a few more difficulty/game mode options, and some QOL here and there and I would bump it up to amazing.

What I like: Well paced, good mix of chill and needing to think, very forgiving of mistakes, fun and unique, cute art style, cute animals, I like guiding humanity indirectly, doesn't take itself too seriously.

What I don't like: Giant walkspeed is absurdly slow and makes everything take longer than it should, the systems involving villagers fighting your giant is pretty much pointless and adds nothing to the experience, inventions don't really offer gameplay or ask anything of the player, sometimes not complex enough.

One of my biggest gripes that I think hold it back is that a lot of the biomes end up playing very similarly throughout playthroughs, especially early game when you start with the same biotica, and the first draft doesn't only offer the same options in every playthrough but doesn't let you reroll, which I get for new players but should be an option I can change to spice the game up later. I really wish there were more early game pathways and/or more randomization options.

Then so many of the endgame goals is often just a bunch of prosperity, which often boils down to exploiting the same strategy of bolstering one specific spot regardless of resource, which again just ends up playing similarly even if the biotica is technically different, especially because micros and the special that doubles them is the most exploitable trick in the game. Because prosperity can come from basically anything, you just find a high yield output, stick it down on somewhere that yield is low level, and basically nuke the spot for absurd gains. Disappointing how many games come down to that after what feels like painting your pretty little world in a variety of colors otherwise.

But this didn't keep me from having a blast completing almost all of the era goals throughout around 40 hours before it started getting tedious. I encountered a lot of smaller bugs, usually visual, but only one save breaking bug where it autosaved with my giant frozen, which is moderately acceptable in the hours I've put in.

I'll probably revisit this game again when the next dlc comes out and the loop fatigue has worn off! I'm hoping by then, if nothing else, we have more options in regard to pathing apex biotica.

If you're looking for an actual God Game or Colony Sim, like I was, look elsewhere. Reus 2 is a puzzle game, with new content unlocking as you complete each planet.

Is it a bad game? That depends on your preferences. Sure, it plays well and the bright complimentary colors are aesthetically pleasing, but it's a very simple game. Like mobile game made for children levels of simplicity.

If that's what you're looking for, I'd still recommend buying it on sale. I almost gave it a thumbs down because the first two category tags the devs chose to describe Reus 2 are completely superficial and don't pertain to the actual game play whatsoever. The only reasons I'm giving it a thumbs up at all is because it's well made for what it is (a simple yet pretty puzzle game), I bought it at a 50% discount, and I might play it again at some point if I'm just trying to pass time with something mind-numbingly simple.

J'ai adoré le premier Reus ... et je n'apprécie malheureusement pas ce deuxième épisode. Le jeu est passé de stratégique et chill à aléatoire et intense, et je ne m'y retrouve pas.

Fin des succès de fin de game non imposés donc j'ai débloqué la majorité en juste jouant. Maintenant, on a des ère avec un grand objectif et plein de mini objectif imposés qui viennent rythmé la partie. Et dont la complétion vient déterminé au fur et a mesure les prochains objectifs, l'échec ou la réussite de la game.

Exit aussi les améliorations de ressource sous forme arbre de technologique qui permettait avec un peu de connaissance du jeu, de planifier sa planète de A à Z.
Maintenant, on a un système aléatoire de "draft". En accomplissant un mini objectif, on gagne un jeton a dépenser pour avoir une proposition aléatoire de 3 ressources. Qu'il faut en suite placer, souvent en remplaçant d'ancienne ressources, sachant que les ressources les plus intéressantes ont des conditions de placement ou d'activations particulières.

Sans compter que si le 1 se déroulait sur des parties partir de 30, 60 ou 120 minutes avec la possibilité de mettre pause pour panifier, le 2 est passer a un système de point d'action.

Du coup, draft de nouvelles ressources vous obliger a dépenser des PA pour les placer et les activés, perdant tout votre investissement dans les anciennes. Et a la fin de vos PA, on change automatiquement d'ère et donc d'objectif. Qui si vous n'avez pas réussi suffisamment a compléter, ça vous laissera avec une planète orientée pour un tout autre objectif que celui que le jeu vous imposera.

Je suis sûr que le coté challenge et aléatoire plairont a certains. De mon coté, je me sens en permanence frustré, sans aucun contrôle et presser par le jeu. Je ne retrouve rien de ce que j'appréciais du premier.

The Tutorial for this game is one of the worst I've ever played. Even if the game is fun, I still can't recommend it. It basically just says "Click things to view the tooltip to learn the game." For example, I clicked an item and that item has a skull next to it. I try to find a tooltip that explains this skull and nothing does. I hover the mouse over it, nothing. I click the resource, nothing. So where is my tooltip then game..?

Cool game. Although it's a bit hard to tell if you're making progress or winning per se? Play seems to be fairly aimless, sandboxy, although fun enough for a fair amount of hours. The only progress seems to be unlocks for next games, but I don't think I see the point in playing after that... Like, I don't think you can really "lose". This is an exceptionally good game which, while simple-looking and easy to get started with, has a great deal of depth with lots of systems that interact to make quite a complex game. You certainly won't feel that when you start your first game but as you play and learn, you start to see the possibilties for your next playthrough.

There are many factors that influence your playthrough including which Spirit you start with - their abilties will have a major effect on what rewards you get so choose wisely. The same goes with picking the giants as they can create different biomes as you progress through the game.

You unlock something new every playthrough as you level up your profile - sometimes it's a new giant and biome, sometimes, it's new abilities like terraforming, micros or expanding your territory as well as new biotica for each biome or even a third era. Each placement of biotica cost you Eons which end when the last points are expended and then you move to a new era when you choose a special goal for it. Later eras allow you to buy new biotica for your biomes and so it goes on.

The base game will do you just fine until you have learned the systems and if you've enjoyed your time with it, you can buy a DLC which unlocks a new biome like Taiga or Grasslands which have their own unique biotica as well as new spirits to play with. It's a very relaxing, stress-free game to play

Encarnamos a varios titanes divinos capaces de crear biomas, colocar animales, plantas y minerales, y definir así las condiciones en las que los humanos intentarán prosperar.

[h1]Jugabilidad[/h1]
El sistema base es engañosamente simple. Todo se apoya en tres pilares fundamentales: población, riqueza y ciencia. A partir de ahí, cada asentamiento tiene objetivos y necesidades distintas que nos obligan a priorizar unos recursos sobre otros. La gracia está en que el espacio es limitado y cada elemento puede generar sinergias positivas o negativas según su posición y sus vecinos.

La gestión por eras y el recurso de los eones como moneda añaden una capa estratégica muy interesante. No hay presión de tiempo real, pero sí una planificación constante: cada colocación cuenta y condiciona el desarrollo futuro. El resultado es una experiencia pausada, reflexiva y muy gratificante cuando todo empieza a encajar.

Eso sí, el aprendizaje inicial no es sencillo. El tutorial se queda corto y deja muchos sistemas sin explicar, lo que puede generar confusión en las primeras horas. Parte del encanto está en experimentar, equivocarse y entender poco a poco cómo funcionan las interacciones, pero eso no quita lo obtuso que es y la paciencia necesaria para superar esa barrera inicial.

[h1]Concepto y progresión[/h1]
El concepto de ser un dios indirecto funciona muy bien: no controlas a los humanos, sino que influyes en su entorno. Cada civilización tiene objetivos propios y la progresión global del planeta desbloquea nuevos biomas, titanes y mejoras. La complejidad aumenta con el tiempo, añadiendo más ciudades, desastres y conflictos, convirtiendo la gestión en un desafío estratégico profundo.

Lamentablemente, hasta que no llevas varias partidas al juego es muy difícil poder anticipar y planificar lo que te viene en las siguientes eras, por lo que arrastras errores iniciales durante toda la partida simplemente por falta de conocimiento ya que el juego no te da muchas pistas.

[h1]Interfaz y claridad[/h1]
El mayor inconveniente es la interfaz: menús poco explicativos, navegación complicada e incluso poca claridad en los elementos interactuables del terreno.
Los nodos donde puedes construir no siempre se ven claramente, y a pesar de que el juego permite poner lentes mas esquemáticas donde simplifica los visuales y resalta los elementos jugables, no puedes jugar con estas lentes activadas de forma continua, solo ponerlas puntualmente.

Los sistemas son profundos, pero no siempre claros, lo que obliga a aprender por ensayo y error. Es verdad que el juego no castiga demasiado y deja ir rehaciendo los errores, pero sobre todo en tus primeras partidas, vas avanzando sin tener muy claro en ningún momento que es lo que estás haciendo.

[h1]Apartado técnico y artístico[/h1]
Visualmente, el juego es limpio, colorido y fácil de leer. La música ambiental acompaña sin resultar invasiva. No presenta problemas de rendimiento, pero la adaptación a mando y el tamaño de letra son sus principales defectos técnicos.

Reus 2 es un juego de estrategia pausado, creativo y satisfactorio para quienes disfrutan de la construcción, las sinergias y la experimentación. No es para todos: la curva de aprendizaje y la interfaz puede resultar frustrante al principio, pero si buscas un juego de planificación, observación y creación de mundos, ofrece horas de disfrute y recompensa la paciencia.

Założenie gry jest proste. Mamy 3 bogów i tworzymy świat dla osadników poprzez dodawanie różnych elementów, florę, faunę oraz minerały. Prowadzimy ludzkość przez epoki, dbając o ich potrzeby i zapobiegając (lub nie) wojną miedzy osadami.

As much as I love the style and vibes, it's probably giving people the wrong impression of what sort of game this is.

You have limited turns each era to place down "Biotica" on limited slots. Placing down Biotica gives you resources, which helps you reach your goal, while also acting as currency to purchase powers to do more stuff.

If you like resource management games which encourages player adaptability, or enjoy wombo-combo synergies, then you should try this game. As a fan of games in similar genres, I enjoyed it very much.

The tutorial and unlocking of content is done really well. It even gives the option to those who want to instant unlock everything, which is nice.

My only major complaint is that for a game that has an achievement to try out all the Biotica - "Master of All", there is no indication of which has a golden border in the draft/placement menus. It is really annoying to have to go through the collection every time that I ended up listing them on notepad. Please add that simple to implement QOL change. You can even add it as an option if you worry if confuses new players.

Also would be nice to add option to turn off DLC in game, as I had to do to complete the "Ladies Night" achievement.

Reus 2 je přesně tím pokračováním, které si fanoušci prvního dílu přáli. Vrací se s osvědčeným konceptem ovládání mocných obrů – giantů – kteří pomáhají formovat planetu, zakládat města a vytvářet harmonické prostředí plné surovin, bonusů a symbióz. Co bylo v prvním díle lehce nezajímavé či nedotažené (např. práce se symbiózou), to je zde dotaženo s citem, přehledněji a hlavně zábavně.

Zásadním vylepšením je pestrost – k dispozici máte více obrů, více biomů a obrovské množství rozličných surovin. Každá surovina má své unikátní vlastnosti a synergické efekty, které při správném umístění přinášejí městům potřebné zdroje, zvyšují spokojenost nebo otevírají nové možnosti růstu. Hra se díky tomu proměňuje ve skvěle vybalancovanou kombinaci strategie, puzzlu a relaxační oddychovky.

Jednotlivé planety hrajete po érách – každá planeta má 3 éry s různými projekty a výzvami, které se dynamicky mění podle města a vůdce. Každý nový požadavek vás nutí přemýšlet jinak, využít jiné obry, jiné kombinace surovin a hledat nové symbiózy. Skvělé je, že jedna planeta zabere zhruba 1–2 hodiny, což je ideální čas pro jedno sezení – žádné nekonečné kampaně, ale ani nuda.

Progress je zde návykový – odemykáte nové zdroje, nové vůdce, nové úkoly i nové možnosti terraformace. A pokud patříte mezi sběratele achievementů, Reus 2 vám připraví desítky hodin plných zábavného experimentování a pokusů dosáhnout co nejlepší efektivity.

Menším mínusem je výkon – hlavně v pozdějších fázích poslední éry, kdy se na planetě děje opravdu hodně a hra občas nezvládá udržet plynulost. Také začátek jednotlivých planet se může po čase trochu opakovat – byť s jiným biomem a vůdcem, struktura zůstává dost podobná. Přesto se díky bohatému vývoji a postupnému odemykání novinek pocit stereotypu nikdy plně nerozvine.

[b]Hodnocení: 90 %[/b]
Reus 2 přináší přesně to, co má pokračování přinést – více hloubky, více obsahu, více zábavy. Oproti jedničce jde o skok vpřed téměř ve všech směrech. Skvělý design, chytlavý gameplay, originální nápad a spousta prostoru pro kreativitu dělají z Reus 2 jedno z nejpříjemnějších strategických překvapení posledních let. Klobouk dolů vývojářům – respekt zasloužen.

An excellent and endearing puzzle game. You can place a huge variety of biotica (plants, animals, minerals) across numerous different biomes, which makes for a lot of strategic depth while being simple to learn. The titans, towns, and biotica, and characters are all so fun and charming.

The game also has good controller support, which I really appreciate!

It's a great game, especially for the price you can snag it for on sale.
I highly recommend it – it's an engaging gameplay experience about synergizing hundreds of different types of resources.

The game is much deeper than it might seem at first glance. It requires replays, but they're always new and interesting, and the gameplay expands as you play. Other pluses include cool graphics and detail, cool music, and good optimization. The downsides include a fairly high entry barrier (it takes some time to figure out what's going on), problems with achievements (I stubbornly fail to unlock some, but since I wasn't aiming for all the achievements, it's not a big deal for me), and the variability of the gameplay: although it evolves, it still always revolves around placing different types of resources in the right places and in the right order.

So, to sum it up, the game is worth the money. It's interesting, but it can be quite unique, so I recommend you give it a try and get a refund if necessary. Good luck to everyone :D

Not sure why I gave this title another shot, thought maybe it would go somewhere with the second entry.

It just so completely boring and lacks any sort of direction at all. My guess is the target audience is the one giving this an "overwhelmingly positive" from the first game, because little is different and it is still barely a simulation and more of a yawn inducing puzzle with a trickle of boring unlocks.

Terminology
Biotica: Any plant, animal, or mineral
Yield: Food, Science, and Wealth, generated from biotica
Symbiosis: A condition that gives you bonus yields if you satisfy a criteria (e.g. placing a herbivor adjacent to plants).

Gameplay
It's a puzzle game in which you place biotica on the nodes of the planet. You basically try to maximize the yields on each node in order to satisfy the objective of each age, and the objectives of each group of humans (civilization).
Most biotica have a symbiosis and 75% of the game is exploiting it.
The biotica at your diposal are randomly assigned at the start, and the rest are drafted.

It's not a creative game.

Pros
-Many different biotica with unique symbioses. I see it as a great way to introduce a child to the various plants, animals, and minerals of our world. Some biotica include a short paragraph with interesting facts, but only some. I wish there were more facts written for each.
-Each game is played with a different set of biotica.
-The turning points (objectives) for the third era are ... amusing.

Cons
-Takes a while for a new player to unlock the third era.
-Gameplay is repetitive.
-Turning points (era objectives) are very few in number.
-Some features have never mattered/encountered/used in any of my games yet (humans attacking giants; giants unleashing naural disasters; adding a fourth biome/nomads to planet; adding a natural feature like a creek)

The game is gorgeous, and very cute, but unfortunately its not my kind of game. I see this basically the same as something like Hearts of Iron - its just tons of menus with loads of different resources to consider. Really complicated and the tutorial is thrown together very quickly with just a few text boxes. A poor UX.

As a result, its not for me...
