Resonance is a joint effort between Wadjet Eye and xii games. This is an old-school adventure game with an engaging story for all old-school fans.

I did enjoy some of this game, its characters and story were engaging, and I appreciated the twists and turns throughout. However, I found many of the puzzles frustrating. The manual switching between characters is a mechanic I’ve never liked in any game; here, it felt confusing and road blocked the narrative and made it harder to follow.
The voice acting was decent nothing special, and the visuals have a classic style, which I liked to an extent, though they didn’t fully win me over and I love pre 00s PNC style.
Overall, I’d give this a low recommendation. I’m glad I played it for the story alone, but it can be quite confusing at times, and a guide feels necessary in certain sections to progress. I believe there are multiple endings, but I was happy with the one I got.

J'ai été attiré par les graphismes du jeu, et dans l'ensemble j'ai trouvé la direction artistique est assez bien, y compris l'histoire qui est racontée. Cependant je pense que le jeu n'est pas très accrocheur, je me suis senti un peu nul à chaque chapitre de l'aventure en restant bloqué devant des puzzles type devine un code pin ou bien où est rangé tel objet dans l'inventaire de tel personnage ou encore j'ai identifié un but mais je me trouve quasiment dans l'impossibilité de faire progresser l'histoire parce que je fais un clic gauche au lieu d'un clic droit. Ce jeu est assez dur, en termes de narration et de progression, et surtout l'interface est assez décourageante à l'utilisation bien qu'inventive. L'ensemble manque de poésie, c'est simple, on dirige un chercheur, un médecin, un enquêteur de police et un hacker et si, en tant que joueur, vous n'avez pas la "personnalité" qui correspond au passage, vous butterez sur un peu tous les raisonnements qu'on attend de ces personnages, sinon ça serait un défi intéressant pour vous? Personnellement j'ai bien aimé la personnalité hacker mais pour les autres j'ai utilisé une soluce.

At heart it is a detective story, with the cast driving both puzzles and narrative. Some puzzles were confusing and I often needed a guide, but others were very satisfying. I liked the characters and story, though I wish there was more voice acting. It most reminded me of [u]Technobabylon[/u], though it does not quite reach the same level.

Fantasic adventure game, simple puzzles but the story is what gripped my attention.
I'm only half way through, and frequently have to check a guide to be able to progress through the story.
Puzzles really hurt this game, they are convoluted for no reason, it's not satisfying to solve them eventually because the main focus is the story, so these puzzles are just hindrance in between, and they are a lot.
Short term and long term memories is such a good concept, but applied badly here, only adding more confusion.
Switching between 4 characters adds more annoyance and makes more difficult to follow along each character's story alone, and how it intertwine with the others stories.
Coupled with the puzzles for each character, and you have a wall of burden just to enjoy the story.
These non-intuitive puzzles, with the complexity of managing 4 characters, and having short-term and long-term memories beside the inventory, just makes this a total chore.
Very clever game from Wadget Eye. Good story, 4 players playable with puzzles implying the cooperation of the 4 characters. The colors are more saturated and vivid compared to Gemini Rue which is a good point...less dull. There is at least 2 or 3 ways of solving each puzzles which is great. Also the system of short term memory and drag and drop of the clues on the characters is very clever and innovative for the genre. Btw, please note that this is not an easy game and that you will need a guide because a lot of the puzzles are about hacking terminals or doors and can require reflexion even with a solid walkthrough nearby. Special mention to the "archive robot arm" puzzle which made me time to figure out and try outs even if I got the logic. Must play if you like the genre and Wadget Eye, it is a good addition to the collection. 8.5/10

"Resonance (2012)" crawled so that "Unavowed (2018)" could stride !
This indie game was developed by a single person over 5 years.
The publisher Wadjet Eyes who has experience in developing point & click games helped out finalizing the project.
Having played almost all of Wadjet Eyes games, I expected them to help the dev avoid the pitfalls of the genre, not encourage it..
The game is very ambitious, it lets you control 4 characters at once.
Each having their own dialogues, clearances and a novel concept of saving information into a LTM (Long Term Memory) and STM (Short Term Memory) notebooks. It allowed this simple point & click game to be vast and open.
Each memory basically acted as a separate "item" that could trigger different dialogues or not. This did not just add more options but MULTIPLIED them in the hundreds!!
Was it a good thing? Debatable.
Having to play as 4 characters at the same time leaves you confused in each one's personal tasks.
It is much preferable to ROTATE between playable characters like "Technobabylon (2015)" did.
It also didn't help that each character had to save the correct information in THEIR separate LTM and STM!
That is 8 whole notebooks to take care of at the same time!
The story telling and mystery of this game were well done. Especially Anna's nightmare sequences!
The puzzles were logical yet still convoluted. Having to juggle LTM, STM and items at the same time made it a chore.
You could not just brute force it due to how vast the applications were.
You could not just click around on everything and figure it out. The game needed to be tightened up a bit more.
The reason this game gets a Negative score from me is because of the damned "archive puzzle" that ruined the game for me. Having completed around 80% of the game, only to get locked by such nonsense is beyond insulting!
1) Firstly, It has no logic or clear explanation of a solution.
2) It is randomized and no guide can help you with it.
3) Even creating a whole excel spreadsheet to try and brute force the calculation proved fruitless. Trying to reverse-engineer and even math it out, did not help! Having scoured the discussion tabs none of the math is mathing!
4) To even attempt it, you'll have to re-calibrate which still takes a lot of time because the pixel animations are so slow and the preparation before the puzzle has to be repeated again every time, even with abusing the save function!

At this point, this ain't a puzzle anymore but a pretentious PoS that the dev himself could not solve if he played the game today 12 years later! Why even make it random?! That's the cherry on top of a pile of feces.
I uninstalled the game and watched the remaining 20 minutes of the game on Youtube.

Among all of Wadjet Eyes games, "Resonance" has been buried and forgotten. I say, for good reason.
Even if you curb your expectations, accept it as a single indie dev project released 10+ years ago, you will get lost and overwhelmed and in the end crash against the worst "puzzle" in point & click existence.
Despite its decent presentation, I can't recommend a broken game.
the puzzles are convoluted and annoying, in the second half of the game you have to constantly switch between characters that cant do actions for no reason. I' ve played other games by this dev and they are all better than this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I had to use ila to solve the annoying puzzles and eventually i just quit before finishing it because it was so annoying dont buy this ♥♥♥♥
I have two ways I want to use to describe this Point & Click Adventure Game Experience
1) "WOW!" 2) "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" (with many more H's and !'s)
This story is incredibly well thought out and thought provoking in and of its own right, frankly I could have gone for more but I appreciate every game has to end somewhere and the twists and turns containing the 4 Main Playable Characters were entirely unpredicted (with the exception of one, who's twist is telegraphed the moment a specific door in the game closes). This was a masterclass of storytelling within a very limited graphical scale.
However... then we come to puzzles like "The Supercollider" and that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ puzzled box being solved WITHOUT the scanner... oh.. my.. god. I openly admit I cheated. I sat here with A4 Pad and Pen and I worked out the solutions using the scanner and then re-loaded and did it myself.
Oh and the puzzle for getting the item from police storage? I save-scummed for that too because I got it wrong 3x in a row! Those puzzles were deliberately thought provoking and whilst I found myself frustrated and writing notes which can only be viewed at as some form of alien conspiracy theorist or a whack-a-doodle, they truly were rewarding when you figure them out, and the fact that these are all RNG based means there's no real way to cheat your game by looking these things up,
After the disappointing Point & Click i'd come from before this, to this - wow. I really appreciated it, it's not an easy game by any stretch but it's worth your time to play. I suppose that again i'm forced to utter the phrase "Wadjet Eye Games is essentially a mark of quality". I'll sound like a broken record but it really does seem to be case.

Klassisches Retro-Adventure. Packende Story mit unerwarteten Twists. Teilweise recht anspruchsvolle Rätsel, was ich sehr genossen habe. Anspruchsvolles Interaktions-Design, das nicht nur die Kombination von Gegenständen sondern auch Erinnerungen, Personen und Orten ermöglicht, was ich bisher so noch nicht gesehen habe. Sehr spannend.
One thing I really dislike in adventure games are having to control multiple characters, because it ends up with you swapping items back and forth to look for the golden combination most of the time. This time, you get 4 (!) different characters. I hate it. Luckily this is restricted to just act 2 of the game, and the swapping items back and forth is brought to a minimum. The characters are also psychic, so you don't need to tell them about stuff they find out while they weren't near each other.
Here's also a system where you can put any object on the screen in your “short term memory” to use in conversations with others. Luckily you hardly need it, because each character has their own memory (wow, amazing) and that'd get tiresome real fast.
Wadjet games are usually pretty good with audio mixing, but in this case especially the developer commentary is awful. There are no subtitles for them, there is no way to raise the volume of just the speech (or lower the music), so often you can't hear a word they're saying because the music is blasting through it. What a waste.
Other than that it's an enjoyable, if somewhat easy, and boring adventure game.

My gripes with this game is with the story, using a lot of tired hollywood tropes in regards to science, terrorism and such that are rather flimsy and easily falls apart. Near the end there is also a twist that I disliked. Unfortunately since it started off pretty well with interesting character, all of whom get mediocre conclusions and only bad endings that felt dissatisfying.
The puzzle elements is alright, as it relies on swapping between four characters. This can make things interesting, but also tedious at times. Just play any other wadjet game, they're all great, this one if you really has a need to play some point and click adventure game.
Resonance tem uma ótima atmosfera, personagens cativantes e uma trama envolvente que te prende do início ao fim. A mecânica de memórias e o enredo de conspiração científica são bem construídos e bastante originais para um point-and-click.
No entanto, o jogo comete um erro grave de design: é possível ficar preso permanentemente (soft lock) se você esquecer de pegar certos itens em fases anteriores. No meu caso, avancei sem pegar o ultra-sonógrafo, item necessário mais para frente. Quando cheguei lá, percebi que não tinha o item, e o jogo não me deixava mais voltar. Resultado: precisei recomeçar tudo do zero.
Esse tipo de falha compromete bastante a experiência e poderia ter sido evitado com um sistema de verificação de progresso ou bloqueio de avanço sem os itens essenciais.
Ainda assim, recomendo Resonance para quem gosta de aventuras gráficas clássicas com boa escrita e puzzles desafiadores. Só fica o alerta: salve com frequência e em múltiplos slots.
One of the better Wadjet Eye Games, up there with Gemini Rue, Technobabylon, and Shardlight. (Not as good as Unavowed or Excavation of Hob's Barrow, in my opinion, but I liked it much better than Strangeland, Primordia, and the Blackwell games. Haven't yet played Old Skies!)

I'm shocked by just how much this 'real world' (no fantasy, no 'extreme' sci-fi) point & click adventure game got its hooks into me. There are twists and turns in this that I *still* think about, years after I first played this game.
A number of puzzles in this are very challenging but every puzzle in this is *fair*. Strongly recommend.

The whole vibe is amazing, it feels like a season of a tv show with multiple points-of-view and an ending with a thought being posited to the player.
The music, voice acting, and art really help in elevating the experience and make it feel alive.
The gameplay is quite cool. I especially love the short term memory mechanic where in you can place "thoughts" into a sort of "inventory" and later use it to talk about that thought to another character. This mechanic makes dialogue a bit more of a puzzle as well, since you don't just ask down a list, you have to purposely ask a person about a specific thing in order to move the plot forward. I'm surprised it's not being used much now considering how long ago this game came out.
I do have some small gripes about the puzzles and the 4 character controlling. Some of the puzzles felt a little obtuse and it wasn't very clear at some points that I didn't have enough information or actions to do what I want so I spent a few minutes trying everything out, only to find the thing I apparently needed or needed to do later on. For the 4 character controlling I wish there was an easier way to make everyone go to a place together without being fiddly and having to click each other person and tell them to follow. I do think this also shows that the utilization of having 4 different characters wasn't pushed forward enough because there was almost no reason to have characters be in separate places at the same time. Sometimes the most efficient thing to do is to just have everyone in one place so you can see who has the advantage in that location.
That aside however, I still think the game is really good, the story is really well-written and the characters don't feel flat and feel like real people reacting naturally to the situation. If you like a really smart point-and-click game with a really cool and thrilling sci-fi story then you will definitely enjoy this game!
Resonance is definitely an "expert level" adventure game in many ways. The multiple characters with their own inventories and large number of areas with possibility of backtracking makes for a pretty complex set of possibilities. Nevertheless, this also enables the game to have a good variety of puzzles and interesting/clever interactions, which makes for a fun experience. The story is well made and works well with the character system. Overall would recommend!
It really hurts to do this since I really like Wadjet Eye's games in general, but I can't recommend this one. It's just extremely unintuitive. See, this game wants to have a gimmick where you have four playable characters with different skills in order to solve puzzles, which sounds cool on paper. However, what this actually results in is even more obfuscation of puzzle solutions than usual due to the fact that to even start the puzzle you have to approach it as the right character, and how exactly to start puzzles is sometimes extremely unclear. On top of that, this game wants to have optional side puzzles or alternate solutions which winds up confusing things even more because some things are setups for puzzles that you may or may not have to do. Plus, the main objectives have unnecessary extra steps to facilitate this leading to game design kudzu.
Usually I'll power through awkward design decisions if I like a game enough, but the story didn't really grab me and looking at the walkthrough just made me mad.

I tried to like this game I really did, but I just don't. This is the first game on the Wadjet Eye Games list that I don't like. Only 3 of them I haven't played as of me writing this.
There's been very few games where I have to click and drag items to use it, I really don't like this system.
The story line is good, but it's ruined by the gameplay and how a lot of the puzzles are done.
There were actually a couple of unique aspects and puzzles that I've seen barely or not seen at all in other P&C games.
Towards the ending- to the ending(s) of the game it just felt unfulfilled? After watching the endings I was left saying "that's it? oh ok".

My wife and I continue to work our way through the Wadjet Eye Games back catalog, and Resonance was another solid entry by the masters of the point-n-click adventure game genre. Resonance does a great job of coming up with a reasonably plausible scientific idea and running with the potential consequences of it, and it made for a really compelling story, especially leading up to the climactic moment at the end of the game's central "act". I think most Wadjet Eye games have at least one moment that has made my wife scream out loud in shock, and Resonance actually managed that on a couple of occasions!
I do have to dock Resonance a couple points for a handful of puzzles that weren't very intuitive and led us to checking a walkthrough. Where some of their other games do a good job of offering progressively specific hints, Resonance would've really benefitted from this, especially because the long-term and short-term memory system led to an overabundance of possibilities. While this only happened a couple of times, it was especially vexing because we had spent so much time testing *so many* other possibilities, especially when those possibilities could just as easily be leveraged into providing more specific pushes in the right direction.
Overall, Resonance is a really enjoyable game with a fantastic narrative. Perhaps the best evidence I can give to that end is that we completed it in one day, staying up until 4 in the morning to finish the game's final chapter after the aforementioned climax. (That might've contributed to missing a particular tiny keypad for 40+ minutes.) I think the game's narrative is compelling enough to help push the player to overcome the rough edges, and I think both novices and veterans of the adventure game genre will enjoy it quite a bit.

W tym przypadku, nawet jeśli jego rola ograniczyła się do dokończenia tytułu, wyraźnie widać inspirację jego… talentem przez twórcę [i]Resonance[/i]. Niestety nigdy nie zrozumiem co tylu fanów przygodówek dostrzega w człowieku, ale dla mnie jedno pozostaje niezmienne – to nie jest dobry producent gier typu point’n’click, i wszystkie znośne produkcje wydawane przez [i]Wadjet Eye Games[/i] okazały się takie pomimo udziału tego wydawcy, a nie dzięki niemu.
Ale pozostawmy to na boku, spuśćmy zasłonę milczenia. Oddajmy [i]Resonance[/i] to co należne – to nie jest tak nijaka i irytująca gra jak wiele z pozostałych ze stajni [i]Wadjet Eye[/i]. Autor wyraźnie próbował wykuć dla siebie pewną niszę eksperymentując z różnymi oryginalnymi mechanikami – zmienianie postaci czy zabawy z pamięcią krótkotrwałą bohaterów zasługują na pewne uznanie. Niestety nie jest to wystarczające.
Blednie to w obliczu silnika, na którym zbudowana jest gra – wymaga on naprawdę dużych nakładów sił ze strony deweloperów, aby uniknąć pewnej płytkości i szarości przedstawianego wizualnie świata. W tym przypadku to się nie udało. Udźwiękowienie jest zadowalające, chociaż nie zapada w pamięć.
W zakresie najważniejszych cech gier przygodowych – zagadek i prowadzonej narracji – spotykamy się z klasycznym wyrobnictwem [i]Wadjet Eye[/i]. Historia jest nieskładna i chaotyczna, a głównym jej problem jej tempo prowadzenia rozgrywki i odkrywania fabuły. W dodatku z biegiem czasu mechanika zmiany postaci, wraz z wykorzystanym pomysłem na wgrywanie przedmiotów do pamięci krótkotrwałej naszych protagonistów staje się bardzo żmudna. Nielogiczne zagadki i puzzle wymagają od nas więc dodatkowej klikoidozy, czyli wypróbowywania wszystkich możliwych dostępnych opcji na sobie.
W przypadku zastosowania tak specyficznych możliwości jak różne postaci i odmienne perspektywy na wykorzystanie przedmiotów, zagadki powinny być przemyślane i sensowne. W przeciwnym razie… po prostu utrudnia to odbiór i czekających na nas wyzwań, jak i umniejsza wysiłek włożony w przygotowanie tych mechanik. Ostatecznie wiele przygodówek sprowadza się do tego, że gracz nie wiedząc co zrobić, musi tego dokonać czego nie wie, aby odblokować coś kolejnego, czego się nie spodziewa.
I to według Dave’a Gilberta jest sednem gier przygodowych. Przykre.

Oyunun ortalarına gelene dek bilimsel yönünün fazlalığı bir tık fenalık geçirttiği için, hikayesine genel anlamda pek ısınamadığım bir yapım oldu. Yine de oynadığıma genel anlamda pişman değilim.
En çok hoşuma giden kısım ise şu: Normal point & click oyunlarından farklı olarak "kısa süreli hafıza" ve "uzun süreli hafıza" olmak üzere iki adet değişik mekanik eklenmesi. Bu durum adventure oyunlarında bazı oyuncuları bunaltan "Şu kişiye git, onunla şu konuda konuş" şeklinde ilerleyen rutin yapıyı kırmak adına iyi olmuş. Bu iki mekaniğin ne olduğunu kısaca açmak gerekirse; kısa süreli hafızaya o anda gördüğümüz bir çizimi, bir makineyi, kırık bir camın görüntüsünü vs. alabiliyoruz. Sonra da diğer npc'lere bununla alakalı sorular sorup yorumlar yapıyoruz. Uzun süreli hafızada ise, daha önceden yaptığımız telefon görüşmeleri, veya yıllar önce ölmüş birisinin bize söylediği son sözleri vs. gibi "hatıralar" bulunuyor. İstediğimiz zaman bunları tekrar tekrar hatırlayabiliyoruz, yani filmlerdeki flashback sahneleri gibi düşünebilirsiniz.
Yönetebildiğimiz dört adet farklı karakter olması ve her birinin değişik bir şekilde konuyu ilerletmeye yardımcı olması, yine aynı firmanın [url=https://steamcommunity.com/id/PiatheDuelist/recommended/336140] Unavowed [/url] isimli çok sevdiğim başka bir point & click adventure oyununu çağrıştırdı. Ama onun yapısı biraz daha masalımsı bir dünyanın, gerçek dünyaya entegre edilmiş hali gibi. Çünkü içerisinde ilham perisi, ateş cini vs. fantastik karakterler vardı. Resonance'ta ise daha böyle... olgun temalar diye adlandırabileceğimiz siyasi, felsefi ve bilimsel içerikler ön planda. Hatta oyunun toplamda iki adet sonu olması (yani alternatif bir son barındırması), hem hikaye hem de bu alternatifin varlığı açısından bana Deus Ex: Human Revolution oyununu (ve sonlarını) anımsattı. Fakat Unavowed ile Resonance arasında şu daha iyi ya da diğeri daha kötü diyemeyiz, kişisel zevke giren bir konu. Ben, ancak, eğer point & click türünü çok seviyorsanız her ikisini de denemenizi önerebilirim.
Son olarak, arşivden blueprint çıkarmaya çalıştığımız bulmacada çok zorlanıp sinirden bütün sigortalarım atacak gibi hissettim, ama aslında mantığı çok basitmiş. Awesome adventure game, interesting story and very tense thriller atmosphere! Also some cool gameplay mechanics like short and long term memory, and you can play multiple characters. Difficulty is decent. Love the style too.
I am absolutely ride or die for Wadjet Eye games, but that's not to say every title they've been involved with has been stellar. Case in point: xii games' Resonance. A pretty mediocre point & click game with a generic story, flat characters and mediocre puzzles. But! Even when Wadjet helps to put out a bad one, it still manages to be interesting.
Resonance is bad because it is over ambitious. Like a corgi trying to do a backflip, its failure was inevitable, but it's hard not to find the results endearing, even if they're disastrous. There are some genuinely interesting ideas here, chief among them the memory system. While playing, you gain access to "short term memories" and "long term memories". The long term ones are important events or pieces of information you witness, whereas the short term is where you can store points of interest are your character to then use in dialogue puzzles. It's a confusing system to explain and an even more confusing one to actually use, but it's a promising idea. Unfortunately, after the first couple of hours the short term essentially never comes up again whereas your long term memory and item inventories become so bloated that it's borderline impossible to know what to do without a guide. I do think there's merit to the idea, trying to marry the guidance of a limited inventory and the player freedom of a text parser, but in the end it's a clunky, finnicky system that can only deliver obvious puzzles or cryptic roadblocks.
Resonance is narratively ambitious too, with not one, not two, not five, but four whole player characters (ish). The prologue section probably uses them best, as it's there they're all separate and allowed to display some individual traits, but for the middle third of the game, they're all together. You can swap between them at will, and they each (in theory) have different abilities and problem solving skills. Once again, there's a dissonance between the freedom allowed by the system and the specifity of the answers the game wants. Any character can hold almost any item and go almost anywhere, so get ready for a whole lot of annoying, clunky inventory management. It's not that long before they're once again split up, and it's pretty obvious the burden of writing and programming interactions for four whole player characters became too great a workload and it had to be simplified. Again, I admire the ambition, but it's an inevitable result.
While Resonance is undoubtedly a failure on several fronts, it's at least an interesting failure. It's not even close to the upper echelons of Wadjet's catalogue, but it contains within some mechanical nuggets that should be revisited and brought to their full potential someday.

Can't recommend this one, couldn't keep playing even though I wanted to like it.
It doesn't hold up to the other wadjet eye games in terms of how naturally the story unfolds or how the puzzles/gameplay feel. The story and characters are interesting, but there are too many puzzles that really weren't needed or were obnoxious to solve without a walkthrough, also including some dialogue that was just painful to read and listen to because it was obviously filler material, too much backtracking to get something into short term memory (looking at you, janitor and your damn wrench) to then use in a later area. This game has too large a focus on arbitrary puzzle solving instead of letting the puzzles work for and be a part of the story. It could've used some (more) playtesting before being released, maybe.
A pretty well done adventure game. There were a couple of bits in the middle that had me needing hints, but I think most of the puzzles were reasonably intuitive and the dialogue sounds pretty natural. As always, Wadjet Eye delivers.
This was a fun game. It adds a few new dynamics to a retro point-and-click adventure. Instead of collecting things and talking about certain topics to solve mysteries, this game implements a long-term memory (LTM) and short-term memory (STM) where experiences and happenings can be referenced during dialogue and puzzles, as well as standard inventory. You also eventually control and switch between four separate characters with their own memories, inventories and specialties. While this is a strength of the game, it's also a bit of a weakness, but I'll get to that later.
The story is pretty good. Scifi mystery adventure with likeable characters and a couple thrilling parts to it. There are some interesting revealings and twists. Ultimately, it has two endings, both of which can be achieved at endgame. Unfortunately, not a whole lot else you do or say changes anything.
So, like I said, the multi-character and memory dynamics are great and all, but I feel like it made the game a little more complex than it needed to be. I got somewhat overwhelmed when four characters I wasn't really familiar with were suddenly thrust into my control and I had four objectives to complete, each with their own puzzles meant for specific characters. However, I'm sure some people like challenges of that nature. Maybe I just wasn't as into the game as I wanted to be.
Regardless, if you like retro point-and-click adventure games, both old and modern, you'll have fun with this one.

Another good wadjet eye point and click... the selection of what you want to do can be clumsy at times but ultimately means you have to get it right rather than just exhaust a preset menu of dialogue options... it is well done in sound and story and a few decent puzzles.

I've played *a lot* of the Wadjet Eye point-and-click games, and this one may be my favorite. Not only is the jumping between characters an interesting mechanic, but the "Short-Term Memory" system is an interesting way around a common frustration of the genre, letting you ask NPCs about certain objects directly instead of waiting for the relevant prompt to be unlocked in your dialog tree.
If you're a fan of the point-and-click, Resonance does a lot of exciting things with the form.
The Wadjet Eye game that feels most like an actual 1990s point and click. Interesting techno-thriller story with some great twists. The memory system for conversation and puzzle solving was a neat innovation. Other gameplay leans heavily into old-school adventure things like timed escapes/distractions, mazes, and math puzzles: if you dislike those you may not like this.
This was a good graphic adventure. Well done with a lot of love. Definitely got my money's worth. I enjoyed the game mechanic where you can use multiple characters together to achieve a goal. The story was really good and was well written with a high-stakes story line. While there were a couple of frustrating points where I didn't know what to do, this is pretty typical of this genre of games. Overall, I would recommend to most people who enjoy this graphic adventures. Very well done game.
I enjoyed it. it's more or less what you would expect from a Wadjet Eye game running on AGS engine: old style graphics, decent story and a lot "click on everything" puzzles and progression. From those, I played the Blackwell games and Gemini Rue and I think I enjoyed those more. But this has some cool mechanics mainly revolving on group play and memories (short and long term) that I think I never saw in a game.
Humourless bland game. Only hint of fun was the cop who acted like military and was never seen again. Half-baked dialogue, example; "We have to hurry Dr. Morales is counting on us", said when Dr. Morales is very much dead. Puzzles all overlap and four characters plus the long\short term memory system mean too many things are in play. Usually impressed with Wadjet eye games, I gave up on this one.
While it has a lot going for it -- the graphics, the plot, the voice acting -- it needlessly complicates the gameplay with multiple characters available all at once and a contrived short-term/long-term mechanic that often sucks the joy out of the puzzle-solving.
It's a classic point & click adventure, and it is really good. A lot of puzzles can be solved in different ways, they make sense most of the time (I had to resort to walkthrough a couple times, but in the end it was just me being stupid, not the game being inane). The only non-issue issue I have with gameplay is that with four characters and a system that allows to ask everyone about everything, you can't reasonably do "click with everything on everything to exhaust content" thing I so love doing in Point & Click adventures
And the story deserves a separate mention. It's not going the way you think it's going, and a twist really threw me off track. And then it just ends with a pretty grim yet relatable theme and a kinda difficult moral choice
A good adventure game, some originality in the mechanisms, clever puzzles (sometime a bit hard), great voice acting, nice DA even if the graphics are minimalists.

As a classic point and click games fan I wasn't sure what to expect about Resonance. I saw the name popping up a few times in adventure games discussions and finally decided to dive into it. What I found is an amazing game with a compelling plot, multiple character storylines and novel mechanics that pushed the genre a bit.

Wadjet Eye'ın eski dönem oyunlarından biri ve açık konuşmak gerekirse en iyilerinden biri. Wadjet Eye oyunlarının önemli bir kısmında (Blackwell serisi, Shardlight, Shivah, Unavowed...) bulmacaların aşırı basit olması, aşırı lineer aksiyon akışı ve neticesinde de "interaktif animasyon" çukuruna düşme zaafı söz konusu. Hikayeler her zaman çok güzel yazılmış olsa da tecrübeli Point & Click oyuncuları için bu durum bir problem.
Resonance bu bakımdan güzel bir sürpriz çünkü klasik Point & Click'lerde olduğu gibi bulmacalarla dolu bir oyun var karşımızda. Diğer bir deyişle yukarıda saydığım oyunların aksine bu oyun kendi kendine akmıyor, akması için çaba sarf etmeniz gerekiyor. Bulmacaların çoğu gerçekten tatmin edici, bir kısmı da gerçekten orijinal. Spoiler vermemek için ayrıntıya girmiyorum. Yeri geliyor puzzle box çözüyorsunuz, yeri geliyor doğru diyalog seçenekleri ile, yeri geliyor elinizdeki nesneleri birleştirerek bulmaca çözüyorsunuz.
Senaryo diğer Wadjet Eye oyunlarında olduğu gibi bunda da çok iyi. Seslendirmeler başarılı, müzikler güzel (bilhassa kapanış müziği). Grafikler ise diğer çoğu Wadjet Eye oyunundan farklı, 1990'ların başındaki Sierra oyunlarını anımsatıyor, canlı renkler, ufak tefek karakterler vs... Tercih ettiğim bir tarz değil ancak bulmacalar benim için daha önemli olduğu için üzerinde durmadım.
Oyunda iki problem var. Birincisi zaman zaman karşılaştığımız pixel hunting durumu. Eski dönemden kalma benim gibi oyuncular için muhtemelen fazla sorun olmayacaktır çünkü Sierra oyunlarında işkence çekerek alıştığımız bir durum. Diğer problem de arayüz. Gereksiz yere fazla karışık. Örneğin başka bir karakter ile odadaki bir nesne hakkında konuşmak istersek diyalog seçeneği olarak karşımıza çıkmıyor, sürükleyip menümüze eklememiz falan gerekiyor. Aynı şekilde oyun boyunca yaşadığımız olaylarla ilgili konuşmak istersek bunlar da yine o garip arayüze kaydediliyor, oradan sürükleyip diyalog ekranına taşımamız gerekiyor. vs.. Klavye kullanarak şifre girdiğimiz kısımlar da cabası. Point & Click oyunlarında klavyede yazı yazma fikrinden genel anlamda nefret ettiğimi söyleyebilirim. Bunların bulmacalara bir şey kattığını düşünmüyorum, gereksiz yere oyunu hantallaştırıyor ve bazı oyuncular sırf bu sebepten havlu atabilirler.
Son olarak oyundaki plot twist'i (geride bıraktığı plot hole'lara rağmen), 4 karakteri birden yönetmemizi (kontrolleri biraz zor olsa ve takım oyunu mantığını çoğu zaman bulmacalarda kullanmasak da) ve alternatif finallere ulaşma fikrini çok sevdiğimi söyleyebilirim.
Klasik Point & Click sevenlere tavsiye ederim, oyunun ilk yarısında biraz sabredebilirseniz ikinci yarıda açıldığını göreceksiniz. Puan vermem gerekirse 10 üzerinden 7,5 derdim. Bu devirde bulmacaları bu kadar iyi tasarlanmış "yeni" adventure bulmak kolay değil.
I grew up loving 90s adventure games and their crazy logic, but Resonance really is a bit too much even for me. In theory, the idea of having multiple characters is good (the Blackwell games is a good example of how to pull it off), but the four characters here just get into each other's way.
In one instance towards the end of the game, I could not complete a puzzle because one of the characters was hiding a three-pixel object I was supposed to pick up.
In another instance, [spoiler]the game makes fun of you if you try to open a door with a credit card, telling you "that thing only works in movies", but then for one of the puzzles you HAVE to use a credit card to open the door, so why give out false information?[/spoiler]
The story is OK, although with some plot holes and inaccuracies. Also, having worked at a particle lab, I find it very improbable that [spoiler]superconducting magnets be left around, fully functional, in an abandoned collider[/spoiler], but at least it's not as bad as Dan Brown's [i]Angels and Demons[/i] ;)

I´ve played Resonance for a couple of hours now and have to say it´s a hit and miss for me.
The story isn´t very interesting to me so far and pretty standard in terms of a secret experiment that has been turned into a weapon by unknown criminals.
The 4 people that can be played are more or less a cliché and I felt no connection to them whatsoever.
The riddles are more annoying than interesting to me as well as the interface, the way to get the information via dialogue is also quite cumbersome.
I uninstalled the game and will see if it will appeal more to me the next time I´ll give it a try; whenever that may be...
Great effort. Slick story writing and dialog. Interesting puzzles and an unexpected balance between complexity of control and simplicity. I enjoyed this output from a very talented team.
The story is decent, the puzzling is sweaty AF. I found it pretty hard, sometimes satisfyingly so, sometimes f this I'm going to a walkthrough.
If you like some really challenging, logic based puzzles in your point and clicks then oh boy will this be a treat. Personally I found it all a bit lukewarm, probably because I kind of don't, but still enjoyed it overall. Story is decent, not the best I have even been told but not bad either, I'm writing this a few months after playing and I still vaguely remember what happened so that's a pretty good sign. It's not the hardest point and click ever made and at least the puzzles are hard because they are hard, not because there is a tiny pixel you need to click on but never noticed until you gave up and just checked a walkthrough, but it probably was the hardest point and click I've ever actually finished as I'm more in the genre for experiencing the story beats than bashing my head against a broken fuse box puzzle for half an hour.
Yes there is a broken fuse box puzzle, yes I did actually spend half an hour trying to work it out, yes I did end up using a walkthrough, no it's not unfair and the walkthrough made it make perfect sense and people with smart brains will get there but I am just a monkey with high speed internet that wanted to find out how the world gets saved (or not, maybe, no spoilers in this review) this time.
Wouldn't be my go to point and click personally but for fans of the genre, especially those of you who want to do the thinking bit more than the reading/listening bit, it's worth the time.

A decent idea and story for a game that's wasted by the gameplay.
You're given 4 characters to switch between and you need to have certain combinations of characters for doing things. This isn't a huge issue since you can always just keep all 4 characters together at all times so you don't have to worry about this, The most annoying part of this is there is no 'group button' you can press to put them all together. You have to click on each person and then tell them to pal around with you.... and if you switch to any other member in the group, they stop following you and you have to do it all over again.
The biggest issues are the short and long term memory systems. These essentially act as extra inventory items. The long term memory system is conversations you've had with people. Some characters share these, but others have their own exclusive ones. The short term memory system allows you to pull any interactable object into it, essentially expanding the inventory system to every object in the game. Instead of just being able to talk to someone about something, the game often requires you to specifically grab that object to talk to them about it. It makes everything much more complicated then it needs to be.
The game isn't bad, but it's overly complicated and time consuming because of this.

Aventura point and click, con graficos estilo vieja escuela años 90, sobre todo de comic realista (no cartoon) pero del año 2012, asi que me gusta que retomen ese estilo. Tiene partes de texto genérico y otras donde hay doblaje (que está Bien hecho) aunque solamente el juego está en inglés, no tiene ningún texto en otro idioma.
Como mecánica interesante, en diálogos que tenes con personajes (por ej. por teléfono) podes abrir el inventario y soltar objetos en un área punteada para que se puedan volver temas de la conversación, algo que no recuerdo haber visto en otra aventura Point & click y me parecio muy bueno.
Tiene logros, cromos, cloud, Subtítulos y Comentarios del desarrollador, lo que suma bastante al valor del título.
Tiene buena música, diálogos buenos, la historia algo intrincada, pero atrapa cada momento, tiene 2 finales.
Me perdi un poco con la historia, basicamente hay como una especie de organizacion secreta que el tio (padre) de una de las protagonistas forma parte y crean como un elemento que puede salvar o destruir al mundo, vos y un jefe de policia investigan el supuesto asesinato de este tipo. Pero no se termina de entender bien que es lo que pasa, es francamente la parte mas debil del juego, si bien podes seguir jugando y avanzando por la linealidad, tenes baches historicos que te complican el seguir el juego.
Mereceria un voto neutral pero no existe dicha categoria 5/10 - Destaco que esta bien hecho, excepto los agujeros de la trama. Si te gusta este tipo de aventuras point y click dale una oportunidad

Resonance çıkalı çok oldu. Yıllar önce oynayıp bitirmiş, en sevdiğim macera oyunlarının tepesine olmasa da orta sıralarına yerleştirmiştim kendisini. Aradan geçen 10 yılın ardından oyunu tekrar bir ziyaret etmek istedim ve hiç de pişman olmadım.
Resonance'ta bir matematikçi, bir dedektif, bir hemşire ve bir gazeteciden oluşan dört farklı karakteri birden yönetiyoruz. Her biri belli bir alanda uzman olduğu için bazı şeyleri yalnızca o karakterle yapabiliyoruz. Mesela sabıka kayıtları, yasal belgeler gibi şeylere sadece dedektifin erişimi varken hasta kayıtları, ilaçlar vb şeylere hemşire ulaşabiliyor gibi gibi.
Bunun yanı sıra oyunda "uzun süreli bellek" ve "kısa süreli bellek" adında iki farklı mekanik var. Uzun süreli bellek o kişinin geçmişinden hatırladığı, hayatında önemli bir yer tutan olaylardan oluşuyor. Kısa süreli bellek ise daha farklı; ekrandaki tıklanabilir şeyleri sürükleyip buraya bırakabiliyor (hafızamıza alıyor), sonra da bunları kullanarak herkese sorular sorabiliyoruz.
Bu iki mekanik oyuna hem farklılık katıyor hem de onu diğer klasik macera oyunlarından ayırıyor. Bununla birlikte bulmacaları gereksiz yere zorlaştırıp süreci uzattığı yerler de oluyor. Mesela bir yeri geçmeniz gerekiyor diyelim, bunu tek karakterle yapmanız yetmiyor. Dört karakteri de ayrı ayrı geçirmeniz gerekiyor oradan. Ya da bazen envanter sıkıntısı yaşıyorsunuz. Size lazım olan nesne ya da hatıra başka bir karakterde olabiliyor; bunları ona da kazandırmanız gerekiyor. Hele bir şema (blueprint) bulmacası var ki sormayın gitsin. 30 yıldan uzun bir süredir macera oyunu oynarım, beni bunun kadar zorlayan bulmaca hatırlamıyorum. Çözmek için Excel'de tablo yaptım yahu!
Bazen kalem kâğıt kullanmanızı gerektiren bulmacalar da çıkıyor karşınıza. Bazen de küçük aksiyon sahneleri oluyor. Yani sizin anlayacağınız sadece ve sadece diyaloglarla ve envanterinizdeki eşyaları kullanarak ilerleyebileceğiniz bir oyun değil Resonance.

This is a great game. I've recently been playing almost every game from WadJet Eye Games, because I just love them.
I was first impressed with the Blackwell series of games and each one has been a great experience ever since.
Resonance is an incredible piece of ingenuity within that. Making an detective game is no easy task. Nor do they usually succeed, but here the way the dialogue is handled is impressive and incredibly original. It makes for an intense gaming experience.
In other words, you are not only given pre-set answer options, but you can ask questions about almost any object, which I have not experienced in any other game.
A great experience, I recommend it to all adventure game and pixelart fans!

Blackwell style point and click plus physics is a winning recipe for us. Things get a little obtuse once multiple simultaneous characters are introduced.
Excellent classic-style adventure game with an engaging story and choices that matter.
I enjoyed the game quite a bit until the game gives you 4 characters that you can control simultaneously. Then, puzzles require you to tell the exact character what they need to think, where, with accompanying whom, and bla bla. It feels like a basic puzzle becomes unnecessarily complex where you need to mix-and-match characters to see if they will allow you to progress. I usually do not leave adventure games but I decided to just watch the rest rather than wasting more time on it.
It's rarely when I cannot recommend a Wadjet Eye game, but sadly there are couple of exceptions to that. This being one of them. This game actually has pretty much to like, if i'm being honest. It has nice graphics, spectacular voice acting and very interesting story to follow. But it also has pretty much that spoils the gaming experience.
First thing that bugs me, is that voices are done only for the spoken dialogue. The game didn't have the option to turn auto advancing off, but fortunately the developer kindly reacted when I requested dialogues to be clickable and they put a setting for it in the options. For that I'm really grateful, because now I can read all the non-acted texts in peace. (Thank you so much!)
Second thing i'm going to gripe about are the timed sequences. Now, you cannot die in this game, but it's always frustrating to complete some multi-part task to get away in a limited time. That can take up to 10 trial and error attempts. I've always disliked that in a point & click game.
Third issue for me was the somehow clunky interface, especially what comes to inventory. I've never ever liked the drag & drop method in point & clicks, because it's much more difficult to use.
Sure, i'm going to play this through (like I try to do with ALL point & clicks 'cause I love the genre!) But this game just blew all it's chances to be anywhere near the top of the constantly rising pile of adventure games to play.
Resonance is a tense thriller surrounding the invention of a deadly new form of technology. As with all Wadjet Eye Games the voice acting is superlative and the setting bright and vivid. The gameplay revolves around some fairly cerebral puzzles, many of which require you to make use of multiple members of your four person party. There is also space however for some fantastical, nightmarish sections that balance out the science fiction elements of the plot. Strongly recommended for any adventure game fan.

Some of the puzzles were more challenging than most point-and-click games I have played in the past. I think I had to pen and paper one of them since it required some spatial knowledge haha, but once I solved them, it was easier upon replaying!
Each character was interesting to interact with & play as. I think Detective Bennett was one of my favorites because of his brash personality that came off as pretty sarcastic and witty.
Overall, I really enjoyed the story line and seeing how each character's motives ultimately converged.

Resonance is okay; it stands at neither the top of the Wadjet Eye Games catalog nor the bottom, just in the middle somewhere. Resonance has a mildly interesting story and interesting mechanics like a memory system, but also has unexplained plot points and immensely dumb red herrings. Still, I think Resonance was a pretty average point and click adventure.

Pour avancer, le jeu repose sur un système original consistant à placer des éléments du décor dans un "inventaire" (short term memory) de sorte qu'ils puissent être employés comme sujets de conversation. L'idée est assez originale pour être soulignée, mais rend les choses parfois un peu lourdes quand il faut que ce soit un personnage spécifique qui parle à un autre personnage, ou qu'il faut refaire un aller-retour pour aller chercher cet élément pour pouvoir avancer. Ça peut être un peu agaçant.
Cela n'enlève toutefois rien au fait que, hormis cette nouveauté d'interface créative, originale, mais pas très heureuse, les ressorts du genre sont bien maîtrisés. Le pixel art est sympa, les doublages sont bons. C'est surtout l'intrigue qui, même si elle fait appel à des ressorts classiques, est bien maîtrisée, bien amenée, et sa progression est fluide, à un bon rythme, avec des personnages qui se révèlent à mesure que l'on avance dans le jeu. On veut vraiment connaître la suite et la fin.
Au final, même si sa durée de vie est un peu courte, et que cette nouveauté d'interface n'est pas l'idée du siècle (je ne jette pas la pierre, c'est original), resonance reste un bon point&click à savourer.

puzzle is too complicated
Un des plus anciens jeux Wadjeteye mais parmi les meilleurs. Il ne paie pas de mine, les graphismes pixels sont minimalistes avec de belles couleurs et beaux décors, mais ce qui en fait un jeu à part c'est qu'on peut diriger 4 personnages l'un après l'autre, qui vont tout à tour se croiser et former l'aventure. Des énigmes de haut niveau, très geeks, très prise de tête parfois où une soluce est bien venue. Mais l'originalité l'emporte et même s'il n'est pas parfait, Résonance n'est pas qu'un petit jeu qui vaut le détour, avec environ 15h de grande aventure je vous le conseil vivement. 16/20
Tolles Point-&-Click-Adventure mit einer interessanten Story über eine Erfindung, die - sofern sie in die falschen Hände geraten sollte - sehr gefährlich werden könnte. Die Story beinhaltet einige Plottwists und stellenweise kann man mehrere Charaktere gleichzeitig unabhängig voneinander steuern.
Great game. Good, thrillery plot. Contrasting characters. New gameplay mechanics. Puzzles difficult enough to be challenging yet not frustrating. I can't count all the point and click adventures I played in my life. This is one of the good ones. (And it has Abe Goldfarb which always adds +10 to cool factor).
I'm impressed with Resonance. It is a light sci-fi point & click adventure with a gimmick that you can control 4 characters. Solving puzzles requires certain characters to have certain items. I needed a couple of hints to get through, but did most of it myself. The puzzles are fairly challenging. Even though I picked up on a clue far earlier in the game than when the characters pointed it out, I was really shocked by the direction the story took.

Avventura grafica vecchio stile con una buona storia e qualche colpo di scena, anche se prevedibile. Interessante la meccanica di controllare 4 personaggi che possono scambiarsi oggetti come Thimbleweed Park, tuttavia non è molto difficile o complesso. Forse la maggiore difficoltà è impratichirsi con il sistema della "memoria", per cui si inseriscono elementi delle schermate in un contenitori per usarli come argomenti nelle conversazioni. Lo stesso per i ricordi, anch'essi utilizzabili come fossero oggetti nelle conversazioni.
Nel complesso non brilla come capolavoro e il finale lascia un po' l'amaro in bocca, tuttavia ho apprezzato il lavoro del suo creatore e l'impegno che mi ha trasmesso nel commento ascoltabile del gioco, consigliato l'ascolto così come il gioco, ma meglio in sconto o in qualche bundle.

Resonance's undeniable strength is its amazing story. The first half was engaging enough but the twist at what I had assumed was the conclusion was gripping yet made total logical sense. Unlike cheap twists relying on shock value common in media today, the plot's progression was clearly foreshadowed throughout the first half and fit into place perfectly. Resonance's puzzles are generally fairly intuitive and I am always a fan of games that present multiple possible solutions to a problem.
The inventory system was a bit tedious (typical of older point and click games) but still manageable. Resonance's main weakness is the lack of development of each character, with most of them being very one-dimensional and distant from the player, especially the main antagonists. I appreciated the protagonists' baseball field banter, but wish that the characters had interacted more during puzzles as well. The finale seemed a bit abrupt without a more drawn-out conclusion but I really liked how the final choice was not so black-and-white, hearkening back to a textbook ethical dilemma while borrowing from both traditional sci-fi and modern politics. Due to the political nature of the ending, I can't help but wonder if deeper world-building could've made the game feel a bit more complete. Overall, though, Resonance is a great game.

It’s hard to discuss the plot of Resonance without heavy spoilers. The game starts with a news report on worldwide terrorist attacks, then the narrative time is rewound 60 hours, and the world is as we know it (well, except the electron has a substructure detectable by a conventionally-sized collider). The game’s description which a player has probably read, states that a scientist died (or was murdered). After the rewind, he’s still alive – but you know you’re powerless to save him. It’s heartbreaking to see the characters’ (and yours) ingenuity and flashes of inspiration knowing they will necessarily have to fail to stop the impending doom, whatever combination of puzzle solutions and conversation options you will choose. Resonance forfeits the cozy and convenient linearity of traditional adventure game plots, while being very blunt where other games try to be coy, elevating a genre limitation to a philosophical statement.
...Well, it’s not *all* doom and gloom. There are two endings, and you can choose one (it's not so simple as picking an option on the dialogue wheel, though; for starters, there are no dialogue wheels). While for me one is clearly right and the other is clearly wrong, I suspect the decision will be difficult or different for other players. Both are sure thought- and discussion-provoking.

Everything serves a purpose

For an adventure game, Resonance has HUGE replay value. Alternative puzzle solutions. Alternative dialog choices. Inter-party banter. Most importantly, there are a lot of details that you might disregard or misinterpret on your first playthrough. Knowing the real meaning behind them makes for a wildly different experience.
The metagame is very self-contained. Long-term memories recap important events and, in addition to their in-game use, are helpful in case you missed a crucial detail. Short-term memories serve both as hints and as a puzzle interface. Fans of achievements will be happy, and even if you don’t generally care about such things, have a look at the list for interesting things to try. If you get stuck, you can ask another character for help – and yes, there’s an achievement for not using hints in a given playthrough. Seriously, sometimes I wish the game would’ve been more sticky so that I’d have more time with the characters.
In addition to the genre-staple inventory +dialogue and the innovative STM, there are “unique interface” puzzles that simulate specific actions with more immersion than a “use this on that” player-to-avatar command. Code locks, fuse panels, mechanisms, computer terminals – there are four such puzzles in the demo alone, and many more in the full game.
Music enhances the action, even when - especially when - it intentionally *doesn’t* match the mood of the scene. For example, near the end of the game, you visit one of the starting locations, and the tune there is as cheerful as it’s been – because for the non-player characters, this is just another workday: they don’t know that doom is coming.
Voice acting is simply superb, and no textual description would do it justice. My favorite scene/puzzle in the game is *two people talking on the phone*, purely because of the voice acting.
Oh, and there are insightful and funny developer commentaries - consider listening to them on your second playthrough.

Science ethics: 100% antimatter-free!

Resonance neatly avoids the bad science problem that many works set in the modern day are plagued with. The fictional particles are realistic-sounding (not corny like magnetic monopoles) and at the same time won’t contribute to the proliferation of bad science (see just about any mention of antimatter in popular fiction). Even better, there’s no hero worship or science phobia: the scientists are *not* magical luminaries, whether superheroes or supervillains. Physics exists independently of the people, and it’s not possible to suppress discoveries.

Graphics: 640x480 resolution, runs windowed, stretched (looks nice even on widescreen anyway), scaled with black bars (looks even nicer than stretched). Unlike adventure games that are actually old, Resonance is in true color, so pixel hunting is practically nonexistent.

Linux compatibility: Resonance is reported to work in Wine. There’s a demo up at the publisher’s website (wadjeteyegames.com) – if you’re a Wine user, try it.
Decent story. I liked the LTM/STM mechanic. Only annoyance is movement can be annoyingly slow sometimes.

Jumps around to many characters, and has an awkward inventory system that makes me struggle to find the enjoyment in this game.
This was FANTASTIC! I'm gonna go out on a limb and say... best puzzles of any adventure game I've played (and I've played a lot!).
The puzzles are where this game really shines. They make you really figure stuff out for yourself, and the best ones make you feel like a genius when you do. They're much more Return of the Obra Dinn than, say, Monkey Island. Still, they manage to slot nicely into the game world, without feeling contrived.
Often, you'll have to prove you've understood a puzzle solution by using the game's (truly innovative) memory system, which allows you to ask characters about any hotspot (by dragging the hotspot into your 'short-term memory'). You'll also uncover long-term memories - short videos that you can replay at any time. These can be used, for example, to contradict something another character has told you, à la Ace Attorney.
There's a good mix of other puzzle types, too - ones that don't use the memory system, but still require real deduction. It seems clear that some have multiple solutions (you'll be controlling up to four characters at once, each with their own abilities). However, I haven't tested this yet.
As for the story and characters, they were solid enough to keep me hooked throughout. However, I doubt they'll leave a lasting impression on me, unfortunately.
If you play this type of game solely for the story and characters, I'd still recommend Resonance as a good yarn. However, if clever puzzles are also a big draw for you, you simply MUST play this game.
Great thriller with some cool plot twists. Challenging and logical puzzles. Recommended!
