I love turn based games and came across this game suggestion from a you tube video. Finished the game around 19 Hrs (you can finish it earlier, around 15 Hrs). Happy that You can continue the game after finishing the main quest line and finish additional quests or do exploring. When I looked at the reviews, most of it were positive and decided to try the game. I am simply surprised that this game do not have more of reviews or player count, it is disheartening to see that for a good game like this. I'll list out all the positives and negatives from my view.

1. 8 Steam trading cards.
2. I have a potato PC with Intel UHD graphics and game runs at 60 FPS. Incredibly optimized and no noticeable frame drops.
3. Loved the story. I'm not going to spoil anything, it's a simple one story with a twist. You need to experience it.
4. Special credit for the dialogues in this game. One of the funniest Turn-based RPGs I've ever played.
5. Variety of side characters to choose from. All of them are different in terms of skills and gameplay. No two characters are similar.
6. Incredible voice acting for the mail story. Main quest line is fully voiced for all the characters.
7. Normal difficulty choices. Difficulty can be tweaked as you like. You can make enemies tankier or just like an egg shell.
8. Lots of text based quest in the dungeons. Never came across same quest twice. All are different based in the region/ state of main quest you are in.
9. Decent enemy variety.
10. Simple map and the locations are done well to make you feel that it's not the same location that you fought earlier.
11. Character level up and doing personal quest to increase perks and to get permanent boost to stats is good. Loved the concept.
No negatives as this is a light hearted fun RPG that anyone can enjoy. Please do not expect a dark gory gameplay. Perfect RPG to spend some time for a good laugh and to kick some ass.

This game takes too long to ramp up anywhere IMO. Try another TTRPG game.
Fun and short game that has a bit of everything. I recommend buying it on a sale. Will give you approx 20hs completing the main storyline and several sidequests. A word of warning, there are still some bugs that will make you lose progress if you did not manually save (and you cannot save anywhere) so save frequently.
Worth the price even without a sale. You can read the other reviews if you want more info.
Surprisingly "mature" product hidden underneath childish looks and early exposition, but as it goes on the language, jokes and topics are less and less kids friendly (not that they shouldn't be exposed to more serious content)
While yes, it has problems like poor optimization, loading screens like it tries to outdo bethesda (and honestly it does), soulsucking tedious relationship system, controls in free roam mode in the city, THE worst crafting and shopping experience and some smaller things, it also has really good ones, with dialogue being probably the best, though challenging fights (if a little repetetive), lore, exposition, text adventures and diverse and memorable cast being close seconds (and thirds...)
There are some things that don't work or work too much, but in the end none of that prevents completion, even if I was close to dropping it after a crash (you can't save in overworld outside of camps, meaning you can do all the side stories in 1 day locations that you could fit in one chapter, enter a dungeon and if you crash before reaching camp you loose everything (I don't know when and how autosaves happen and they are not too often sight)), but I went back the next day, finished it and I'm glad I did
On a last note they could update the store page to match the final product, it's been too long to show wrong UI or cut content

I like the story and how it voiced. The battle is pretty challenging. But things can goes awry pretty fast if you're unlucky. There is 1 fight that is too much RNG based... Also, I do not know how to beat the final boss in Nightmare because I don't have a certain faction Signal Flare... You can't grind for higher rarity equipment either in Post Game. You can't get all characters either even in post game if you don't cheat. Some Kingdom Quests are bugged, so careful with that. Pretty much fun game overall, and you can skip battles to watch the story if you play on easiest difficulty.
Um TRPG bacana, batalhas legais assim como a OST e o desenvolvimento dos personagens, só achei que a história poderia ter se desenvolvido mais, ela vai se desenrolando legal até que do nada acaba, se tivesse um cuidado a mais com essa parte seria perfeito, mas mesmo assim recomendo.
I recommend this to anyone who enjoys strategy games. I highly recommend using the custom difficulty settings, as the default actually puts you at an unfair disadvantage. (I'm not a new tactician either, I've been playing strategy games for more than a decade.)
The characters are fun and goofy, the story is okay and the writing is subpar but it's still a lot of fun.
I must say, pretty good vocal cast, was surprised to see so many names I recognized.
Very fun to play. Light atmosphere and somewhat silly stories at times. Intersting fights and, more importantly : varied.

The writting is abyssmal, trying to go for a ironic relaxed tone it manages to make you avoid care about any of the characters them all being bland and basic as they come, beyond that all dialogue feels overly juvenile. The general chapter quest is just, do 7 quests in 55 days, quests being split between get to level X, beat x dungeon, increase social rank with x number of chars, craft x amount of items and fish x times. Those "quests" don't even have real rewards and what is more, these are suposed to help you extend your debt payment deadline? They make no narrative sense, and mechanically they are boring and pointless. I do like some of the design decisions when it comes to combat design, characters usually have a variety of skills which have many applications though some chars are more streamlined than others, and the blitz and authority mechanic seems like an unironically good one but enemy AI is kinda random at times, you will often have time finding a way to deal damage consistently and one getting two, or one shot is a big problem in the early game(i played in nightmare difficulty until chapter two), it is a bit of a shame since the combat had the potential to be very cool but some fights feel trivial as sin while others are just a slog to get through.
All in all feels in many ways half baked and unrefined, lacking many QOL displays and infos (for your craft x amount of weapons you dont get a progress tracker) and general gamefeel and feedback is just kind of bad.

Regalia is the kind of game that I come back to once in a while, and realize just how much good, realized lore that is astonishingly consistent throughout the story. I wish it sold better when it came out, but it did sell enough to warrant two additional games with the SacriFire coming out soon. This game isn't perfect by any means, but it's remarkably ambitious with its storytelling.
I highly recommend this, a playthrough for 30 hrs with additional DLC is super nice.

This is a very 7/10 game, simply for some of the rough edges. If you use Alissa, the tab key is your friend, the "kingdom quests" can be found under quests in the menu, and it is important not to grind too many of them too early, just so you aren't scrambling late game, since you always need to complete a particular number within a chapter.
The characters are fun and unique, each playable character having practical and interesting utility; [spoiler] Henrietta's dispel ability single-handedly won me certain boss fights [/spoiler] The dialogue is charming, although story depth suffers a bit for a desire for humor (which does land quite often) [spoiler] including the very last cutscene in the main campaign, which really made me smile ear-to-ear[/spoiler]
The SRPG gameplay is not overly compelling, but by no means bad. The lack of tracking for the kingdom quests was a bit frustrating, especially with crafting progress, but it was never really an issue in my playthrough. I'm not sure about controller integration, but every so often mouse and keyboard would have some small hiccup that made doing what I was intending a bit wonky. These frustrations mixed with the campaign overstaying its welcome every so slightly made the last few hours feel like a bit of a slog.
This game has a bunch of things that could have made it special but it falls short on almost all of them. I don't know about the development process but since it's a crowdfunded first game of a fresh team, I can imagine where it went wrong.
The premise is that you get to play an heir of an old forgotten royal family, trying to rekindle the majesty of your ancestors' glory days. With party based combat, exploration and diplomacy-friendship gimmicks. The thing is, each and every one of these features leave a lot to be desired.
- The combat is poorly balanced and the skill tree is a mess.
- Exploration happens almost exclusively via text-based adventures with no visual presentation whatsoever.
- Social interactions doesn't change any of the story arcs or add a meaningful depth to the game. They're incredibly shallow.
- Diplomacy feature is just you replying to the letters sent from the other kingdoms and doesn't impact nothing, it's just numbers.
I'm not saying it's a bad game, it's a mediocre one. It has cool art, nice voice acting and a few surprising moments in its writing. However the presentation is rather dull (no animated cutscenes whatsoever, just 3d chibi folk with stock animation), gameplay is quite repetitive and the UX is all over the place despite the good looks.
I personally think it was enjoyable as a palate cleanser.

The game's story felt like I was watching an English dubbed Japanese anime, the meh kind, nothing mindblowing.
Voice acting is entertaining to listen to at least.
The game's battle system needs some getting used to, even for turn based tactical vets like me. In which I gotta ask, why go to such lengths to differentiate themselves by making it next to impossible to save your allies? Is it THAT HARD to stick with the tried and true method of potions and healing spells to increase the survival rate of your allies? Personally, I'm not a fan of this aspect of this game, NO HEALING during battle.
Keep doing this for the next game and those that enjoy turn based tactical RPGs will avoid it.
7 out of 10, but that's because I'm only 3 hours in. I will revise my final score once I clear the game.

Very fun mix between time management, tactics battles, and a little bit of city-building. Nothing is very in-depth besides the skill assignment system, but you'll have a good time exploring the different relationships between characters and going through the various text adventures. If you're an achievement hunter, read about the different branches ahead of time or else you'll need to do a second playthrough to grab everything.
Said better and in more detail by others. Saturated genre, this brings nothing new to the table, and doesn't do the fundamentals well at all... Battles are slow and pointlessly difficult in not fun ways and story was already feeling bloated and bland... this is the type of indie game you would expect to find pushing boundaries in not well represented genres of games, not smack dab in the middle of one of the largest and most saturated...
Even Banner Saga, as frustrating and stupid as I felt it's combat system was, at least was interesting enough to keep me playing
En 15 minutos me fume tremendo diálogos absurdos, como 20 pantallas de carga nivel starfield y cuando llega el momento de ver como es el combate la animaciones de ataque son peores que juego de celular y el movimiento en el tablero es raro, no se por que les cuesta tanto copiar el movimiento Advance Wars, Shining Force, Fire Emblem o mas moderno Wargroove que funciona bien, es intuitivo y eficaz dios.. y la interfaz es horrible todo eso en 15 minutos, desearía haberlo jugado apenas lo compre para haberlo reembolsado en su momento, a la lista de juego que compre por verse "interesante".

This game was so fun and refreshing!
First: I do wanna address that there is this annoying bug where the game doesn't recognize the weapons you craft unless you do it all at the same time and have sold all of your other weapons beforehand. I saw that this was a bug that started way back in 2017 and still hasn't been patched. The workaround is okay, but it is still annoying.
Next: I absolutely loved this game. I don't know if I just haven't played a lot of strategy games (which I do love but maybe all the ones I've played are just similar), but this was such a fresh take for me. I love the restraints it puts on the player, which makes you really think about how characters are built and which characters are the best for each battle. Only 4 characters and no heals? And if you want extra exp points, you have to fulfill challenges? It really does make for a lot of preparation. I like how you work with just a set of skills, but they can change based on the perks, and you have to balance that with all their other stats. And given there are is no healing in this game, you have to really utilize shields or invest in dodging. It gives you a lot of incentive to always use Kay, which I think is thematically really nice too.
When I hear about games to play if you want a Persona-like experience regarding the social sim elements, I can't believe I haven't heard this on those lists yet! The base building and bonds are fun. Most of the characters are pretty silly and while a lot might not be fully fleshed out, they might be very useful units with good perks so you still have a reason to level up their bonds nonetheless. Like, I don't think the characters were super deep, but they just work as an ensemble and I like having this mild-mannered protag who just kinda rolls with the punches.
The voice acting!!! Superb. Absolutely superb. And the music is so good too. They really add to the experience.
Overall, love the game and this makes me so excited for this studio's next game even though it's nothing alike in either gameplay or visuals because I at least know the level of quality they will aim for before shipping out the project.
This game is absolutely one of my comfort games.
"Regalia" is the perfect fusion of a - really interesting, and charming! - storyline in visual novel style, and a decent tactical RPG with lots of customization options and things to do. Within the game, you build buildings, upgrade them, get into deeper and deeper friendshio/relationship with a ton (!) of characters, craft or buy items, and upgrade your characters within a kind of board, where you choose the skills you unlock with all those other stuff. The game challenges you with so called kingdom quest besides ordinary story quest, making it a thrilling experience. I never played a game like this before, may "Azure Dreams" from PSone days the only game that comes to my mind, that blends RPG, tactics, city building, storyline, and character interaction this great.
This game does have many fun things. I enjoy the art and especially the combat and lots of the character interactions are very fun. However, the humour unfortunately relies on stereotypes a lot, which is not only ethically a problem but also boring. What frustrated me the most was when you fail to fulfill the requirements for a chapter, instead of offering you a clean restart it's just game over and you have to make sure you have a save you want to get back to. And that's the thing: even if you could just restart, you'll have to replay hours without an additional value since there isn't a lot of re-playability. And the fact that you basically have to craft 10 items of this rank, 8 of this etc. without this actually being useful and just depleting your precious resources - that's not the way to go forward. That's not fun. :/ Sorry, devs, I know you put a lot of effort into this game and I do appreciate that. Like I said, the combat was loads of fun, the art etc. But ultimately, it had too many frustrating or tedious things.

游戏总共七章，前六章主角作为领主（村长），每章要在有限的时间内完成指定的王国（村镇）任务数，包括村镇建造、团队亲密度管理、地下城打怪升级、打造装备、钓鱼和外交。需要注意的是，如果在规定时间内没有完成指定任务数的话，游戏就会失败。游戏通关后是自由时间，玩家终于不再受时间束缚了，可以选择继续做任务和成就。
游戏每次出城最多可携带六人，但每场战斗最多只能上场四人。
每场战斗都有可选的两个挑战，如果两个挑战难以一起完成的话，可以尽量完成一个挑战，如果有几场战斗一个挑战都完成不了的话也没关系，游戏中所有地下城的战斗场景是足够达成“完成50个挑战”这一成就的。
普通难度下，前期在兼顾完成挑战的情况下确实有点难度，在提升等级以及打造大师级装备后就变得比较简单了。

- For the love of the flying spaghetti, the GUI is way too small, I can barely read any of it;
- Controls are a bit clumsy;
- No controller support;
- The 3d models aren't bad, but they do stick out like a sore thumb. It is like they are out of place. Maybe this was the one art direction slip;
All in all you will have a good time with the game, the mechanics are quite solid and can deliver a really complex experience.

I'll be very brief; the game doesn't deserve too many words.
* Initially interesting game, it becomes boring after 6-7 hours. I decided to stop playing it after 15 hours without finishing it.
* The combat is slow and uninteresting, each character has 4 actions available plus a special one, so it becomes repetitive and uninspiring.
* The main character is an idiot.
* You must take actions within a certain time, or you lose the game.
* Secondary characters gain more abilities if you spend time with them, it means getting to a certain level of connection with them and then spending a day together making choices. Becomes boring quite soon, as there are too many secondary characters.
There would be more to write, but as I said, it's not worth saying more. I'm sorry devs, but it's not interesting enough for me.
Regalia is a decent RPG, if you're ok with clunky UI, boring generic combat, little to no customization of chracters & the bloody endless loading screens. But at least the story is somewhat good & chracters are very well written.
I do enjoy it but really I am on the fence about recommending this game. I want to love this game but sadly can't, and here are the 3 main reasons:
1) The battle UI is abysmal. You cannot set even in settings to see your chracters and enemies hp and mp at all times, this makes the whole battle planning super unintuitive and un-enjoyable. Also balance is odd. There seem to be some hard scaling at play but no way to tell how exactly it works. Oh and the "line of sight" thingy. It is terrible in this game as you can tell from other reviews, yes I can confirm it is as bad as they say.
2) Boring worldmap. The locations to explore are basically all dungeons or text adventures. There is like no towns, no points of interest, no nothing. Enemy encounters that are not starting with text adventure (direct battles) are sometimes puzzling - like, why would this enemy attack me at all? Are they renegades? Bandits in disguise? WTF? But game just don't give any explanation, it is just generic battles...
3) The dialogues feel like they were written by Reddit/Tumblr kids. Like its not even on "Generic JRPG" level of bad, it is worse. However if you let it go and read through this game as you would through a comedy/parody you will be able to tolerate and even enjoy it. Even if this game tries to be serious at times, it is clear that what they had in mind was just a parody on fantasy JRPG's, but with not clear execution.
Overall: 5/10 A very mediocre fantasy RPG. Buy if you ran out of better games in this genre to try. It is not great, but not terrible either.

Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs is certainly one worth checking out, even to those who aren’t too keen on tactical RPGs. Its friendly difficulty options cater to all abilities, providing strong challenges to those who want it and not getting in the way of those who don’t, while the humour and vibrant graphics provide a great first impression. Its combat and gameplay loop can become a bit stale towards the end, with the kingdom building only playing a bit part and there being a few UI to overcome, but there’s still plenty to like if you give this title a chance.

Despite the little gameplay time resulting from my account, I have been playing this with my BAE a lot and I have to say it's a very nice game, with gratifying visuals (for me, at least). I have got almost no experience as for the "business/management simulation" part, and in fact I sucked at that, but for a noob was a welcome start, rather easy to get into it. I loved the tactical elements and the graceful irony running through all the game. I would truly recommend it, even for someone not very good at anything like me, and I trust most experienced players will find it perhaps not strictily original, but certainly very fun and refreshing. And I must say I fell in love with Theo, too.

终于通关了游戏，感谢团子翻译器。从17年发售至今，我心中一直年年不忘通关这款游戏，但受限制于语言，始终未能如愿。知道现在终于完成这个心愿。这段经历既折磨有痛苦，游戏的乐趣其实不大，从成就就可以看出来，达到最后章节的人只有10%多，因为游戏实在太枯燥了，尤其是钓鱼功能，鸡肋中的鸡肋，竟然是靠点击频率决定成功，这样做既废鼠标又废手的知道嘛！如果不是为了完成任务，根本就不会去钓。游戏发行这么多年了，出了2个DLC，竟然还有许多bug，比如无法完成铸造6把大师级武器的任务，0血死不了的矮人，提到矮人，这玩意竟然一身日式战国装备，真的很奇葩。除了有一点影响的bug之外，游戏的道具设定也是很糟糕，除了前期有用之外，后期没有值得用的道具，与其花一回合用道具不如用技能了。
玩过这个游戏后，我清楚地意识到，我再也不会玩类似的RPG游戏了
This was such a surprisingly fun game, with many small jokes and hints to other games. Its highly recommended.
I quite like the story and the characters here. It has a simple plot, yet the personal bond side quests give extra depth to your party members. The music is decent and I am head over heels with the hand-drawn backgrounds. Having said that, I am not a big fan of the battle. It uses scale, so you can't grind here.
For an indie game, it's pretty good. A seasoned gamer might want a 'randomized' endless dungeon because after beating all the dungeons on the map, you're pretty finished (you can't even enter the dungeon again either after beating it). They have an extra dungeon from DLC, but that doesn't give you EXP, only another currency to buy character skin which doesn't give any extra to your character either, aside from 'repaint'.
On the other hand, kudos to the developer who incorporated many elements from other games like the social link of Persona and the construction/fishing side quests. There are also many witty references here, the sometimes funny dialogue reminds me of Disgaea. Bravo to the voice actors too.

Awesome and densely packed with features Strategy RPG! Featuring cool kingdom management aspects too. As mentioned there is a LOT to do in this game, and the default difficulty setting makes for quite challenging combat and dungeon encounters. Cute game. But some of the mechanics make it too frustrating for me.

Game has a lot of potential. I think if any of one of the above were resolved I'd try again. It just wasn't fun after awhile.

Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs is a game that any fan of tactical RPGs, and RPG fans in general, will appreciate.
It mixes elements of tactical RPG combat, visual novel social trees, and base resource management. These core mechanics and how they interact with eachother, although unbalanced at times, are very well thought out and they create an engaging gameplay experience that will leave the player wanting to explore all of the posibilities that the game has to offer. In regards of the story and dialogue they are nothing to write home about, the game doesn't make them their main focus but it manages to be entertaining for the first playthrough. The main downside is that it tends to have performance and technical issues that make themselves present whenever you are doing a long gaming session, that coupled with the UI and models having a cheap look makes the game feel unpolished, and if you are used to AAA game releases it will definetely feel underwelming. With all that considered, they still managed to pull of a well executed and fun game which the lack of resources was the only thing stoping it from excelency.
Some really nice aspects here, but the save limitations are unacceptable and make the game unpleasant to play.

What you need to know about this game:
- It has a funny story, filled with diverse characters from several species, always using a good humor, good satire, greatly voiced acted;
- Combat happens in “dungeons”, which are actually nodes that you explore in areas, depending on the difficulty you choose they can be more challeging, but if you pick story mode there's a feature where you can skip them all and just win;
- This is mostly a city management game, where you need to rebuild the town – the issue is that you have an amount of days per month to complete some tasks, which leaves you with no time to improve relationships;
- Some problems: loading screens everywhere; no autoplay; very clicky; it's not all cutscenes and many times you end up just reading a “book” and get into fights; some fights can be really hard; the UI system needed improvement especially on the tutorial parts.
I only recommend you play it when you have time, no backlog pressure, due to the management part of the game.

Appearances can be deceiving. At first I thought this game was a sure winner. It's a wonderfully charming little Indy game full of lovable characters and and beautiful animation. Any fan of anime will feel right at home here. For the first several hours of gameplay I was having a great time completing quests, clearing dungeons and building up my estate.
Unfortunately it isn't too long before the game starts to run into a lot of problems. The biggest one being a severe case of playable character overload. While the game features nearly a dozen playable characters, you can only bring 6 of them with you into dungeons and only use 4 in battle. While thankfully shared party experience ensures no one will ever be under-leveled, you're still stuck with the problem of having loads of characters with absolutely nothing to do: forced to either stay back at the estate or on the sidelines while your main four are fighting.
But the problems don't stop there. As you go on, you quickly find the dungeon battle difficulty really ramps up, mainly due to pointlessly restrictive victory conditions that serve no purpose other than to make your life miserable. One of the most brutal ones is where you have to win a battle within a certain number of turns. Why? What happens if you go over the turn limit? Nothing, you just lose. There's also battles with hidden conditions, such as ones where new enemies are constantly spawning into the map, even though that stipulation was never mentioned in the pre-battle condition description.
What's even more infuriating is that a lot of these battles require certain specific characters to optimize your chance of winning. Characters you might not have brought with you since you didn't know you would need them. And once you find this out, it's too late to go back and get them. Abandoning a dungeon run will result in a lot of lost days that you can't afford to lose. There never was a time during my session where I had to abandon a dungeon, but this did result in a lot of lost and replayed battles until I was finally able to win. It was a lot of wasted time because of not having the right team members, all because I had no way of knowing I would need them.
As a result, the dungeon runs stop becoming fun and quickly turn into tedious slogs, where rather than looking forward to playing them, I was looking forward to the end so I wouldn't have to do them any more. Playing this game felt like playing a D&D board game with a spoiled bratty kid taking the role of the dungeon master, setting up infuriatingly contrived death traps all for the purpose of pissing you off.
The culmination of this frustration is put on display in the final battle, where you have to fight a boss who buffs his personal shields every turn to an obscene degree, making him literally unkillable unless you have a few specific characters with abilities that ignore shields. Again, there's no way to know this until you actually fight the battle, so my first attempt was a total waste of time in which I killed all his minions and was in perfect position to finish him, only to discover I literally could not win with the party composition I had. I was able to bring the right characters and win the day on the next attempt, but those characters were not as effective for killing the minions, so again, I was stuck in a pointlessly contrived situation which made the game a lot harder and more frustrating than it needed to be.
Oh and to make matters worse, the ending doesn't give out much payoff. I was kind of hoping I'd get a context-specific ending based on the personal relationships I made and the upgrades I made to the estate, but nope, it's just one ending you get for every one, regardless of what you actually did in the game.
So as much as I enjoyed a lot of the aspects of the game, I really can't recommend it, considering how needlessly frustrating and unfair the game gets in the later levels. Plus the 4-person limit in battles really is a crippling restriction. Pixelated Milk certainly had the right idea when they made this game, and it showed a lot of potential, but ultimately it falls way short. Unless you're a huge fan of the genre and can find this for a very cheap price, I'd say best to give this one a pass.
The gameplay is generally okay if you like tactics type of games. It has pretty awful user interface/flow and controls, making the game almost unplayable. The line of sight mechanic is more frustrating than interesting.

Game is okay but autosave sucks.
There is a quest of the blue that ends the game if you fail. You are not warned before entering, but before the round begins. I lost 2 hours and dont feel like i want to repeat it after that bummer.

Its a small, but great and hilarious tacitcal game.
Games story is realy fun, Made in very comical way. l coudnt stop laughing and actualy read thrugh dialogues instead of skipping them (like I usualy do).
IN this game outside of tactical battles (which you can skip in easy mode, but why would you play tactical game and skip battles?!) you have to manage your time. You have X days on chapter to make X amounts of required tasks. Those include, going thorugh dungeons, building your kingdom, building up relationships with your party members and NPCs at your kingdom, or just fishing. Meeting the deadlines is super easy though, dont have to worry about them too much, you realy have to screw up badly to fail it.
This game really does just burst with charm, personality and love. It was an absolute blast playing it and it has really good replayability.
The story and its characters are interesting and have a good balance between being clear and understandable and having a more nuanced layer underneath.
The gameplay isn't anything world-breaking but it works and is enjoyable. The dungeoneering especially is a lot of fun. The fishing mini-game kinda sucks in my opinion, don't really see why it needed to be in the game. I personally really enjoyed the character interaction stuff but I would have liked it to be have just a bit more. You don't really get a grasp of what characters think of each other most of the time, they're there but to me it just happened a bit too little.
Also, this is completely a personal preference thing, I would have really liked a romance element (especially if it would've replaced the fishing game). There's just quite a bit of decent chemistry between characters, especially coming from Kay. But the game works perfectly fine without this and as I said, it's a personal preference thing so I understand people not wanting it.
All in all, big recommend. It is a really fun and charming game that has a ton of replayability!

Instant turn off for me.
The UI looks cheap and stiff. You even get that Unity stock startup prompt. Character artworks look nice I guess at least.
Filled with unexciting busywork to do that feels like straight out of a mobile phone game (and that goes nicely with the lack of a controller support which forces you play with mouse).
All skills are available from the start, there's no even any point leveling up as there is level scaling and you won't unlock new active abilities anyway.
Hard pass.

this won't change your world but it will make for a real nice weekend or longer.
I like this game very much but bugs (on crafting quests, for example) don't allow you to go further chapter 5. I tried 2 times (70h) but bonds, construction and dungeons quests are not enough to fullfill requirements on kingdoms quests before finishing the game. These bugs just don't allow you to win.
Kind of a disappointment
It has its charm, there are some nice parts: nice characters, some turn based strategy a bit of upgrading your city.
But none of it is really expanding and in the end more frustrating than enjoyable. Gameplay loop is just list of chores with the timer. It might be better if you could just concentrate on one part of game and not bother with others, but in the end you have to do every part of it and then you get f u c k e d by the timer.
Disapointment.
Solid 7/10. The game is a solid balance between combat and non combat since you can balance your own gameplay however you want by deciding which kingdom quests you do per chapter. The voice acting and characters are hands down my favorite part. Each character has their own developed personality and quirks ie. a vampire who wants to be scary but isn't, but also wants to be a hairdresser, all while throwing on a fake Transylvania accent to seem more vampire like!
This game is def not all about the combat like other tactical games such as Fell Seal or Troubleshooter. It has interesting choices matter text based adventures mixed with real combat in the dungeons, while also having a relationship system that can affect gameplay as well. It was a comfortable blend of genres!

Art: The art is probably the best thing about this game,I like the style, its nice and smooth, its not perfect but its mostly good. I would say its a 8 to be generous
Music: its ok, nothing bad, but nothing exceptional either , it can get repetitive after a while.... a 6.5 for it
Cons:
Story: the story is shallow and bland, if you expected a detailed and well built kingdom building game like ni no kuni, or pathfinder kingmaker (both great games) than you will be very very disapointed. the story here is very bland, you hardly will be excited for anything and reading throw it at times can feel more of a task , the ending is somewhat fine and has a few highlights but that is it. the charachters are all shallow and simplistic if not outright one sided and they range from mildly charming: Kay, Baz and his daughter, the barbarian girl, kay younger sister and the walking armour falls here, then there is the one sided card board cut out: most charas falls here, the merchant, the smith, the elf that loves rocks, and kay older sister. and then there is the worst, the just annoyingly unbearable characters: here I would include, the unity guys, The peasant NPCS that I always always, always want to kill because they are just the incarnation of stupidity and annoyance, and Griffith wich is probably the most shallow character of the entirety of this game. The actual game villain also would fit in here because of how shallow he is, thankfully tho, he only get screen time towards the end of the game. In short the story is bad. I would give at the very most a 5 (and that is being generous.)
Game mechanics: the worst thing about this game is without a shadow of a doubt its annoying mechanics , the combat is annoying and repetitive, the kingdom mechanics are a chore more than anything else and feels annoying, there are also useless mechanics that you use only once in the entire game and never ever find then again, like the whole negotiation mechanics in which you use only once to negotiate an annoying quest regarding a dragon, and two peasants. Dungeons are also a horrible repetitive and uncreative pain, as well its enemies. For the mechanichs… this game gets a 2.5. it is the worst of it.
Conclusion: now you may be wondering why a guy that dislikes this game has spent 300 hours playing it ? well at most I spent 50 hours , the remainder 250 was me just letting the starter of the game open on the background so if I looked at it I could perhaps feel compelled enough to play it almost like the reminder of an annoying task you have to do, I still can’t believe I spent money here. In short, this game is not worth it, you have to love with a dying passion jrpgs, and even so I will say that you would only get what is worth if you bought while at 70% discount, anything less and you are the one losing in this deal. Over all note ? 4.5. can’t give anything more than that to this garbage.

The story is nice, graphics are alright, and the dialogs between characters is funny. Sadly, the management isnt great, very few options, very few to actually manage. It is there, though. Just don't expect a kingdom building sim, it isnt.

Nie chce mi się pisać za specjalnie, to pokrótce - system walki mnie mocno nie porwał, walki wręcz pomijałem - ale grałem tylko dla wydarzeń, fabuły itd. - ta cała narracja jest po prostu genialna. Nie jest to coś, przy czym będziesz śmiał się cały czas, ale po prostu jest to wszystko naprawdę zabawne. Pierwsza moja gra w życiu, którą wymaksowałem - i osiągnięcia, i odznaka na Steamie.
This game is a middle thumb, really. The battles mostly having a turn limit really reduces the fun for me personally. The turn limit coupled with it feeling hard to get to where I need to be on the battlefield just ends up not being enjoyable.
On the positive side though, lots of love went into this game, all the units have various abilities (although frequently most of them feel less than optimal and you're just waiting for the abilities you feel are powerful to come off cooldown).

Regalia - это игра с очень простым сюжетом, крутящимся вокруг юного наследника давно сгинувшего королевства Аскалия. Однако, простота сюжета не мешает боям быть отнюдь не простыми и очень даже увлекательными! Игру очень украшает попытка привнести что-то новое в болото однотипных тактических игр, а результатом разработчики могут гордиться: механика "поля зрения", не дающая применять многие способности без врага в прямой видимости, заставляет думать гораздо активнее, ведь тихонько кастовать издалека, как в некоторых играх, не выйдет.
Вы когда-нибудь замечали за собой, как проходите всю игру стартовым пати, потому что появившиеся позднее персонажи им и в подмётки не годятся? Regalia же может похвастаться солидным пулом персонажей, буквально каждый из которых - очень сильный боец, которым будет интересно играть. Более того, игра даже побуждает нас экспериментировать с составом своей команды - стартовым составом, конечно, можно играть, но немного неприятно.
А помогает в экспериментировании очень интересная прокачка в этой игре. В отличие от многих игр, где приходится пускаться в нещадный гринд, когда оказывается, что вы никогда не играли очень нужным именно сейчас персонажем, в Регалии уровни персонажей отсутствуют как таковые! В течение игры вы повышаете уровень всего отряда, что даёт вам возможность играть какими угодно персонажами в своё удовольствие, не отвлекаясь на унылый гринд.
Суть Регалии заключается в выполнении определённого числа квестов до дедлайна главы. Поначалу эти дедлайны заставляют понервничать, но затем, если вы хоть немного умеете в тайм менеджмент, игра станет несколько расслабленнее.
В каждой хорошей игре обязана быть мини-игра с рыбалкой, и здесь она есть! Готовьтесь рыбачить яростно и много, если очень хотите редкое достижение...
Также стоит отметить картинку и музыку в этой игре! Персонажи здесь - загляденье, а музыка не надоедает и спустя полусотню часов игры.
