I very rarely leave reviews for games, but I feel this one deserves it. I have played a good portion of the major roguelike/lites that have come out over the past 10 years, from Isaac, Risk of Rain 2, RoR Returns, Hades 1 & 2, Rogue Legacy 1 & 2, Curse of the Dead Gods, Revita, Absolum, Gungeon, Undermine and on and on, and beaten them all, often with 100+ hours in the best of them. I also am always on the lookout for a satisfying co-op game with hundreds of hours in Deep Rock Galactic etc. I can say without a doubt that Ravenswatch is both my favorite game in the roguelite genre and my favorite co-op game.

I bought Ravenswatch the day it dropped in early access because I was a fan of Curse of the Dead Gods and knew it had co-op. Back when there were four champions and one level, I still put in 20-25 hours because the gameplay was just so solid and satisfying. Enemy attacks are complex but very well delineated visually and aurally. Each character is quite unique in their kit so there is always reason to go back, and most have 2-3 viable builds that all play quite differently. And ultimately, the game is just rewarding to play because there is so much room for improvement and skill expression. You do not get better by using after-run rewards to buff HP and stats. You get better by...getting better at the game. I currently have 600+ hours in and I still find that if I take a few weeks away, I come back and have to go through the process of improvement all over again. But the time commitment really does pay off with satisfying improvement. At this point, I have Nightmare tags on every talent and every magical object in the game, and it was incredibly rewarding to figure out how to make each thing work, because the game is well balanced enough that nearly anything is viable if played correctly.

One thing that was immediately obvious to me having played a lot of strategy games is that Ravenswatch is, in it's own way, a game about maximizing your economy. There is a timer, and you are not meant to fully explore or clear the maps (they are the same every time in layout, if not enemy and camp location, so there is nothing to "explore"). The goal is to maximize the amount of rewards you get each level (XP, money, magical objects) in the least amount of time. What makes the game so rich and rewarding is the timer. I know that tends to be a pain point for some, but the game would not be nearly so fun to return to without that tight rope of getting as much done as efficiently as possible. Unlike many games where improvement is solely a function of mechanical improvement at attacking and dodging, this game also rewards improving knowledge, as pathing between locations, choosing your order of camps, deciding if it's worth attacking a few enemies outside a camp for a shrine or gold spike in exchange for precious seconds, and deciding if it's worth risking the boss powering up (or giving up Hourglass rewards) to stay on the map longer are all decisions that can be improved with experience and analysis.

The game is very fun in solo and well balanced. But the game shines in co-op too, as each character brings their own unique strengths and weaknesses and each combination of heroes plays out slightly differently. There is very little lag, if any, and the game has a solid reconnection system. Bugs and disconnects are few and far between despite me regularly paying with co-op partners on the opposite coast of the USA and in England. The game also works great cross-platform as my main co-op partner is on Xbox and I am on Steam. The game just works. Period.

I also have the utmost faith in the developers at this point, having watched the game grow from one level in early access to the deep, complex monster the game is now. Since 1.0 last year, this small indie dev team has added multiple free DLC characters, added new enemies and boss patterns, new camps, new mini bosses, new magical objects, and completely new, game changing mechanics like overtime and the Hourglass of Dreams. They did not have to do any of this as they had already been paid up front, but their passion and effort really shines through.

Easily 10/10. I cannot recommend this game more highly.

When I am against the first boss I do no damage? I heard the game is easy once you have your stuff together but they won't even let me have the opportunity to get better. Why is the first mission timed? I don't even know what any of my skills do. A single hit to the ogre is less than 5% of the health bar. I will have to play perfectly and not get grabbed so the boss doesn't heal AND dodge all attacks to live for a whole 10+mins for this fight only. Am I supposed to do this little damage to the boss? Anyway, if this is the intended difficulty for someone new it's not for me.

Un grand OUI pour moi (après 156h de jeu, je me réveille oups)
En solo ou coop, immense rejouabilité, chaque perso avec plein de possibilités de build différents, les niveaux de difficulté sont bien équilibrés je trouve - big up au niveau Cauchemar qui est bien, bien, bien plus difficile que les autres, presque injuste à des moments, mais tout à fait optionnel et ultra satisfaisant une fois battu -, on a envie de tout faire dans le temps qui nous est imparti, quitte à dépasser un peu et en subir les conséquences !
Le jeu continue à être mis à jour avec du contenu additionnel gratuit et des patchs réguliers.
Quelques nouveaux personnages payants sortent régulièrement, ce qui nous permet de redonner un petit coup de frais à nos parties et de continuer à soutenir le jeu et les développeurs qui ont fait et qui continuent de faire un super boulot.
Triple pouces, triple étoiles, un grand bravo.

From grinding Dota 2 almost every day to discovering this gem, I’m honestly glad my cousin recommended it to me. Whether I’m playing solo or teaming up with friends, it never gets boring—there’s always something fun to do and new ways to enjoy it.

The gameplay feels engaging and rewarding, and it’s easy to jump in for a quick session or spend hours exploring everything it has to offer. It strikes a great balance between being accessible and still offering depth for players who want to improve and master it.

I feel obligated to review this excellent game, mainly due to the numerous complaints about the paid Merlin DLC. First of all, it's not mandatory. Second (Which is essentially an extension of the first one) If you don't want it, don't buy it; after all, they released the base game with nine characters! Those Diablo like games Normally releases five classes and charge almost the same price as Ravenswatch base game for one or two more. I actually like that they charge for some game implementations; it will keep the game alive longer, with more people playing online, and the devs need to pay their bills too. Now, talking about the game. It's one of the best roguelikes I've ever played, and I say roguelike because it hardly gives any permanent bonuses for each run you complete. It only unlocks new skills. Even then, they'll only appear with a lot of luck, and they unlock one of the things I found most appealing in the game, the things that keeps me hooked: the memories, It is the memories that make up the game's story, elevating the characters to the maximum ranking is the way to discover the story, just like seeing the item descriptions in soulslike games, for example. The gameplay is also addictive, with various combos, and the game's visuals are very beautiful. I'm sure it's a game that will stay installed on my PC for a long time.And devs, create more content. There are people who will happily buy it.

I absolutely hate when games put the save files in the game directory and can't find any reason to do so, and I felt actually insulted to open the game to an ad for Nacon of all things before being greeted with my wiped progress. I had uninstalled the game because I didn't find it terribly fun to save up on some space, but I don't use Steam Cloud due to previous issues it's caused me with other save files, so that caused me to delete my save file with no warning or indication until I tried to play it again.

That might be less of a problem if I found the core gameplay pushes you to keep playing, but imo, at least in 2 player multiplayer, everything is just SO punishing and/or time consuming that it felt like a chore, everything felt disproportionately tanky for the damage we were outputting, and I consistently felt like I was missing things to level the playing field, just to start unlocking talents I could randomly get on level up that seemed just outright better. Which I wasn't a huge fan of.

Admittedly, they did rework some systems which I was interested in trying out, but I'm not regrinding 15 hours with weaker versions of the characters kits in a game I already thought was difficult to the point of tedium (not actually that hard, just everything is a slog to drain their hp and you pull every enemy in a mile radius) just to see if now it's a game I'm happy with.

Assolutamente fantastico, bel gameplay, skill cap alto per ogni guardiano giocabile, difficoltà massima molto competitiva ma onesta.
Un roguelike degno di nota con tanti contenuti in arrivo e achievements stimolanti, che per me ha riportato in vita la passione per le vecchie favole e racconti.

Uniche critiche da fare: la randomizzazione delle mappe è molto buona, potrebbe migliorare e sicuramente lo farà con l aggiunta di contenuto.

Da giocare e tenere d' occhio decisamente!

Es un roguelike muy único; tiene un combate mucho más pausado que Hades, te obliga a jugar con cabeza, teniendo en cuenta los cooldowns de tus habilidades y los enemigos que te rodean, ya que tus ataques no interrumpen las habilidades de tus enemigos a menos que rompas su postura, del mismo modo que en Sekiro.

El elenco de personajes es muy variado; todos ellos tienen un gameplay totalmente único con una variedad sorprendente de builds en base a las habilidades que elijas al ir subiendo de nivel.

Lo único que me chirría es que todas las runs son iguales, mismos tres niveles, mismos tres bosses, a excepción de los bosses del epílogo, los cuales se van desbloqueando al aumentar la dificultad. De todas formas, me parece uno de los mejores roguelike que he podido probar en los últimos años.

Garbage game balance, garbage rewards, garbage progression. The first boss alone has multiple "modes" it will randomly be in when you fight it. Some are relatively easy, requiring little more than patience to kill it while being relatively unscathed; some modes are nearly impossible to avoid dying multiple times during the fight, as you can get killed in as few as 3 to 1 hit(s).

As you level up a character you get access to more "Talents", but those talents don't necessarily make you "better" (compared to starting talents) they just give you different options. Randomly, some of those options are objectively better, some objectively worse, but most of them are just lateral moves.

A few good things I can say about the game: there are a decent array of characters (several of which you need to unlock through play, some are DLC) and each one I've tried (most of them) have meaningfully different play styles, and each character seems to "work" as well as any other, once you get used to their style. Additionally, the game is pretty challenging, but in a way which feels accessible (at least at first).

Unfortunately, because the enemies get significantly more powerful, but your character gets only marginally more powerful (no matter what you do or how well), by the second world they're already massively out-scaling you just in raw stats, so even random encounters can end up being frustratingly long grinds-- and you don't have the luxury of time, because there is a hard-limit timer in the form of a boss that just keeps getting more powerful the longer you let it sit there, until it reaches maximum power then forces you into the fight.

All in all, I'd give this game a 4/10. Beautiful gothic art style, great responsiveness, unique character playstyles, but terrible balance, unfun mechanics (like the boss timer), lack of explanations (like how tf you're ever supposed to get the keys for the various locked chests around the map), lack of meaningful character improvement, and a general sense of pointlessness and fruitlessness to doing anything in this game. (P.S. And to my last point: if you want to grind character level ups, it's actually way faster to just beat a few enemies on the map, then save/quit. Start again, beat a few more enemies, save/quit, lather, rinse, repeat. To put it in perspective: doing that can earn you about 60 character XP in under three minutes per play/quit. Getting all the way to the second boss will take a minimum of 40 IRL minutes, and will only earn you about 260 XP on a *good* run. In case you don't wanna do the math: That means just killing a few enemies and quitting over and over will net you around 360 XP in about 18 minutes, vs. losing to the second boss after over 40 minutes of play to get you that 260.)

Devs: Please fix/rebalance this game. Not that you'll ever read this. It's more just my wish into the ether.

Изначально на старте игра была лучше раза в 3. вернулся допрошел предпоследнюю сложность и закрою еще одну и ВОЗМОЖНО поменяю отзыв. Для чего тогда я закрыл еще одну сложность? Чтобы иметь право написать подобный отзыв.
В игре изначально было несколько багов с таргетами(которые кстати до сих пор не пофиксили). Из плюсов отмечу один - сделали чуть более управляемый рендом, добавив большее количество звезд судьбы для рола талантов и предметов.
Из минусов - появилась куча рендомных багов с областями и таргетами - цель монстра в одном месте, а снаряд прилетает прямо тебе на голову, и не важно что ты не в зоне удара. Куча багов с большими мясниками - области работают в зоне на 10-25% больше, обходить приходится за версту, и это увеличенип олностьюе рендомно. То есть вас просто специально заставляют использовать против толпы защиту или уклонку чтобы в вас случайно не прилетел снаряд или удар по области. А что потом? А потом суп с котом - уклонение же должно откатываться 8 секунд(привет Диабле, которая созналась и исправила это недоразумение), для кувырка нужно подождать - не гоже делать подряд, а то не хватит предметов чтобы на них построить механику. Что приводит к искуственному затягиванию карт, смертям от боди блока, кучей смертей просто от толпы ввиду областей и снарядов в тебя, а не прицел/указанную зону.
Защиты некоторых персонажей при этом либо не могут прервать скил, либо не могут скастоваться корректно - эффект блокировки и все что с ним было связано срабатывает, анимация есть, но урон проходит фуловый будто ты ничего не заблочил - а все потому что ты попал в тайминг "идеального блокирования"... в тайминг то попали - но оно в итоге просто тебя оставило на лоу хп, спасибо разрабам.
Атаку гигантского энта сделали не ,kjrbhetvjq, надо выбегать, спасибо разработчики, всегда мечтал выбегать из тучи корней без уклонения. Да во всех нюансах добавляется рендомность, которая добавит сложности, но и добавит сгоревших жоп. Если игра претендует на высокую сложность - то она обязана не создавать чувствительные баги управления и прохождения...
Колодец - так же руинит как атаки так и защиту - монстры сквозь колодец простреливают и крюками и всем подряд, и притягиваю тебя аж в обход всего колодца, для тебя же это неопредолимое препятствие.
Отняли 2 минуты, теперь в эти две минуты исуляется босс, при этом затянули игру - теперь солбрать все точки интереса в первой локации практически невозможно, даже с учетом этих двух минут.
Дисбалансировали основные таланты и не поправили их работу - многие таланты остались мусорными и нерабоичими как должны быть. Базовые таланты вообще перестали как либо встраиваться в билд, лучший последний талант становится просто полезным на 1-м уровне - потом про него забываешь. потому что он ВСЕГДА будет идти в разрез билду. Вырезали некоторые полезные таланты, а некоторые переработлаи - теперь твой билд должен строится на двух кнопка а не на одной... спасибо, очень хочется тратить все звезды на ролл талантов в самом начале и дропать если не выпало ничего с 5-9 роллов. Добавили бесполезный котел с осколками... в котором монстры спавнятся динамически - создавая иллюзию, что ты можешь быстрее его закрыть и получить больше осколков. Но даже если ты закрываешь красный котел слишком быстро тебе просто родят дополнительных монстров, чтобы ты НЕ получил максимум.
ДОБАВИЛИ предметы и НЕ добавили бан хлама... в итоге ты остаешься на 16-м кровне с миллионом бесполезных звезд и кучей недособранных предметов, который ты и пересобрать не сможешь, почему? Потому что стол звездочета(или как он там правильно называется) дает переролить таланты, которые ты и так уже вынужден был ролить - потому без нужной связки талантов - ты в помойке, даже гримуар нормально закрыть за тайминг не успеешь. Но предметы - собирай кал, пожалуйста, мы не против, правда поменять потом не дадим уж извини и с 12 звездами будешь бегать не обессуть.

По общей сумме - баланс угас полностью, вы играете просто ради перезапусков, а не ради попытки пройти каждый раз - это зависит от игры, даст он тебе это сделать или нет - прилетит в тебя случайный снаряд от паука которого ты уже убежал на голову и шотнет или нет, выпадут тебе нужные предметы и роллы с первого раза или ни одного нужного за 9 роллов - никого не волнует. ВСЕ шансы нправлены против игрока, все баги добавляют спецаильно эффект бога - не ты своим скилом решаешь проходишь ты или нет, а игра. 2 ворона из 10. Не советую тратить свои деньги на это в 2026 году и позже - просто деньги в мусорку, потому что дропнете, баги заколебут раньше чем пройдете последнюю сложность.

Schicker Grafikstil, aber leider ohne Langzeitmotivation

Ravenswatch sieht auf den ersten Blick toll aus, entpuppt sich aber schnell als frustrierende Baustelle. Der größte Kritikpunkt ist der extrem magere Content: Es gibt viel zu wenig Maps und Gegnervariationen, sodass sich jeder Run nach kürzester Zeit identisch anfühlt.

Das Balancing ist ein schlechter Witz – solo ist das Spiel stellenweise unnötig schwer und unfair, während es im Koop oft zum unübersichtlichen Effekt-Gewitter verkommt. Zudem fühlt sich das Zeitlimit auf den Karten eher nach Stress als nach spielerischer Herausforderung an; man hat kaum Zeit, die Spielwelt wirklich zu erkunden oder Taktiken auszuprobieren. Für ein Roguelike fehlt hier einfach die Tiefe und die Belohnung für den Grind.

Fazit: Schöne Optik allein reicht nicht. Wer Tiefe wie in Hades erwartet, wird hier maßlos enttäuscht. Aktuell sein Geld nicht wert.

Really fun multiplayer (or solo!) game. Love the art and the theming - werewolf riding hood will always get a 10/10 from me. The crosstalk between characters in multiplayers is one of my favorite little touches. Appreciate that the devs are continuing to add to the game and polish up the balance and player experience. I do not fear death!

제한된 시간 내에 미니맵에서 선택적으로 이벤트와 전투를 골라서 동선을 짜야하는 재미가 장점이자 단점으로 다가옴.
시간을 극한으로 아끼고 우겨넣어서 알차게 성장하는 재미가 분명히 있고 좋은데, 동시에 1분 1초의 로스가 스트레스로 느껴지고 원하는때에 일시정지를 못하는 것도 불편함(물론 각 챕터 사이사이에는 쉴 수 있음).

그나마 좀 좋게 바뀐 부분은 기존에는 시간이 다 된 경우 강제로 보스로 진입하는 메커니즘이었는데, 이제는 유저가 제한시간보다 일찍 보스에 진입하면 추가 보상을, 시간을 초과하여 보스에 진입하면 더 맵을 돌아다닐 수 있는 대신 강화된 보스를 만나게 됨.

캐릭터 스킬 모션이나 보스 패턴등은 굉장히 잘 만들어진 편이라 로그라이크 장르를 좋아한다면 할인할때 꼭 사보는 것을 추천함.

The game is great. I've enjoyed every minute of it. I like the idea of every run feeling different.
You have to strategize and think how to build your character and try something else each time.

A recommendation for the new players: Start on single player (solo) as there the game(boss) timer pauses every time you open menu, shop, choose a reward. The game currently doesn't support this in co-op and the timer keeps running, so you better learn your character first before joining with someone else.

This game has been such a great solution to my rogue-like itch! The characters feel balanced yet unique, and its loads of fun solo or in multiplayer! The rate at which enemies multiply for co-op play can feel intimidating, but man the numbers you get off those runs are so worth it!

Купил оч давно в раннем доступе, поддержать разрабов, зашел глянуть что нового. Не успели выпустить 1.0 как уже продают DLC контент, когда основная версия абсолютно нищая. Из принципа бы сделал рефаб, но уже увы нельзя)

If you like roguelite games, and you have friends, this is a vibe. We've played a couple other options but this one seems to have captured us with it's stages, builds, enemies, and many things you can do to power up! There are different character play styles, but each character seems to be able to handle themselves without the need for a "support" or a "vanguard". Definitely worth it!

Playable characters seem really balanced. Each one has their own play style and they're all very different from the other characters. Gameplay feels like it has a low skill ceiling, but continues to be challenging even after I "feel" like I've gotten the hang of things.

After playing the previous game "Curse of Dead Gods" by Passtech and having a lot of fun, I decided to try Ravenswatch from the same developer and I can say for myself that the people at Passtech games know how to make a game. Ravenswatch is fun 100% The characters are interesting and diverse to play multiplayer is a great addition. I think it's my favorite Rougelite game right now, and I've been playing it a lot lately, and it works great on the steam deck. I recommend the game is pure fun :D and I can't wait for new characters

I like the spin the game is taking on the fairy tale characters. The gameplay is solid and I very much like the options for play the different heroes provide. I would like some more chapters or another lets say book/story to extend the number of different maps and adversaries.

Были надежды на игру, и скорее развитие. Но из-за неизвестных вводных, толи економика на дне, то ли что... Игра почти не развивается. Так еще и хотят за персонажей екстра денежки.
Все кто хочет норм рогалик с большей вариантивностью, которая не утратится за 10 часов, то это не про эту игру. 0 мерлнов за 180 Гривень из 10

This game is so much fun! Easy to pick up and play. Tons of replay value. Fast pasted, easy to learn hard to master.

Ótimo jogo, mas uma coisa que acaba com a jogabilidade é que é randomizado o anfitrião da partida, e caso o anfitrião desconecte todos os demais jogadores são expulsos.
Deveria tornar alguém o novo anfitrião para evitar a desconexão, este é o único problema extremo, que vejo que necessita uma urgência para arrumar, já perdi diversas partidas ganhas, por culpa da desconexão de um anfitrião.

Ravenswatch has a bit of a learning curve that may be intimidating to some new players and doesn't always do the best job of teaching you how to play, but it is absolutely worth the effort to learn. The best things it has going for it are the cast of characters with distinct playstyles and the sense of progression and improvement you get over time. Well worth the price.
