The game is beyond amazing. The graphics are out of this world, and the game is pretty fun and challenging. The Rat is a well written character.

This is my favourite game out at the moment!
There is so much potential for this to be a Metal Gear x Rat Simulator game but they screwed it all up. The controls are janky and unresponsive most of the time. The hiding gameplay and detection system makes the game an annoying slog to play through. The voice lines sound like something a schizophrenic hobo would mutter to themselves, which is one of the funnier aspects of the game.
The game has a good premise and it was wasted. It's not fun to play. It's boring, janky and feels unfinished/neglected.
As an added part of the review, the final boss glitched out and would not spawn, so I was unable to complete the game. Do not waste your time on this garbage.

Some will tell you it is just a game, this is false, Rat Simulator is a journey where you experience great happiness, lose close friends, and overcome difficult challenged. I cannot recommend this experience enough, I feel I have grown as a person over these last few hours playing this game.

Ich finde Rat Simulator richtig witzig und spaßig. Das Spiel macht Laune, weil man die Welt aus der Perspektive einer Ratte erleben kann. Die Steuerung ist cool und es gibt viele lustige Momente. Für zwischendurch genau das Richtige! Kann ich empfehlen, wenn du mal was anderes und Verrücktes spielen willst.
It's fun, but amongst the many games with similar premise probably not the one you should spend your money on.
The game is a bit buggy which is to be expected, most bugs have easy fixes and having to redo all objectives because you realize the key is bugged out and you have to restart the quest can be prevented once you know to check whether it works first. However, I played on easy and have to assume that if you try to play on hard or even try to speedrun the bugginess would be a problem when you get stuck behind a cabinet the third time in that house.
The player is given far too little insight how certain mechanics work, making some objectives a pain. It was especially bothersome in terms of the stat system, spending points strategically seems impossible. And if you realize in the final boss battle you spent your points poorly? You didnt increase a stat that was previously completely irrelevant? Too bad, deal with it. You'd have to completely restart to spend the points differently taking this aspect you had no idea would be relevant previously into account. It's frustrating.
I do think this game can be enjoyable and the replayability is good. It has more to it than some other [whatever animal] simulators. It feels a bit nostalgic to me, maybe because I used to play similar games on my phone all the time as a kid
There are many many worse games, but there are better too. This is not worth its price, it's barely even worth its sale-price (50% off as of when I ought it). Before you spend the money look at different games similar to this, chances are you'll find something better.

I have had 7 rats of my own and when you attack people, I call it peeing on them lol I love the objectives and boss. I love that you help other rats. Its great. I love the wagging butt waddles.
I mean, I really don't know what to say other than this is the greatest game of all time. Actually, no, I have a lot to say about why this game is so great.
First of all, the UI. I mean, you get dropped into this game and immediately your eyes are blessed with what I can only describe as the greatest, most well made, and most visually appealing menu screen of any game I have ever seen. Like seriously, I think multiple substances of multiple different states of matter were released from every hole in my body upon seeing what the developers of this wonderful game cooked up when it came to the user interface.
Second, the sound design. My god, does this game have the most beautiful melodies incorporated into your game play experience. Mozart? Beethoven? NOBODIES compared to the composer of this games soundtrack.
And let us not forget one of the most important aspects of this game, the game play. Do I even need to tell you how I feel about this? I mean.. I will, but still... Every aspect of this game, from the stealth mechanics, looting, action packed fight scenes, and the insanely in depth fighting mechanics, all blend together to make a style of game play so unique that you will genuinely never be able to play any other game and have fun again. Its almost a curse to play such a godly game, because there will never be another game like it.
Really, I just want everyone to know that you NEED to buy this game. Like really, PLEASE buy this game. I cannot stress enough how much you need to buy this game for the sake of me and my fam... I mean for the sake of your enjoyment.

It kind of goes without saying that this game can't be exactly a triple A production.
For that the amount of money and time put into it is quite obviously not big enough.
But the idea of the game is still kind of good and also there are some details that
show that there was some thought behind them.
I already tested "New York Rat Simulator" before and was very much disappointed
with most of it because it was not exactly a game as there was not a task to
be fulfilled.
You just ran around all the time.
(Althuogh I got to say that the humans and the city looked more realistic)
In this game you are a ratty and you have to infest a whole small town of
nine houses.
You also have to free some of your lil' ratty comrades who got stuck in
those houses.
But be aware:
If you are not sneaky enough, the pest control man will come and play
with your lil' ballsies - so better avoid them.
The people in the game are very stupid.
If you have heard of the infamous Gollum game by German developer
"Daedelic" and you have ever seen the AI in that game you will know what
bad AI looks like.
Well...
The AI in this game is even worse. By far.
But the voicelines are kind of funny. The first time you hear them.
There are not too many of them and hence things will get repetitive very soon.
THe game also gets repretitive very soon.
But I will still finish the game anyways because I want to see the boss fights
and all that is happening on the way.
I think if the game actually had some cutscenes and just some more budget
invested into the (sometimes really good) ideas, it could have been a real banger.
If I had to give the game an honest rating, I would give it 2.5/10.
You can play it once for half an hour and find it funny but it won't be anything
you will dump a lot of time into or that you will come back to play again and again.
But still kudos to the publishers for trying to make a rat game!

Rat Simulator is a Digital Homicide style asset flip. The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unity asset store assets, dumped them all in a blender, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers.
Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware.
In this case, the asset flipper took a bunch of Unity Asset store assets and made a very simple third person "adventure" stealth game with rats. It comes across as a "bare minimum viable product". The idea that rats can swing open doors and pick up vases 5 times thier own weight and hurl them across the room shows that not a huge amount of effort or consideration went into actual rat simulation here. It has no value or merit as a real game.
The game assets are fairly mediocre/low quality which fits with the idea they weren't developed by the game creator... they look like they're "just reasonable enough" to go on sale as part of an asset pack. The issue of asset flipping aside, ultimately the quality of these assets is low and low quality always makes for a less than optimal gaming experience.
So, should you buy this asset flip? Is this better than any of the 100,000+ genuinely made games on Steam? Of course not!
Rat Simulator has the laughable price of around $8 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam.
For comparison, the $8 asking price for this game could get you games like "Disco Elysium", "Doom Eternal" or "Stellaris". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.
Genuinely shocked by how fun this game was. It was not the best game but it was solid!

Entre más destrucción causes, más puntos acumulas, y es asombrosamente satisfactorio ver cómo tus \logros\ convierten un hogar humano en ruinas mientras evitas ser atrapado.

Aquí viene la parte donde la rata pierde algunas migajas: la IA (inteligencia artificial) de los humanos es algo predecible, lo que disminuye la rejugabilidad después de que aprendes sus patrones. Además, aunque los gráficos son decentes para simular tu peluda vida, no esperes que te caigan los pelos de la emoción. Necesita un empujoncito en diversidad de escenarios y en la historia, que a veces se siente tan vacía como una despensa después de una invasión de ratas.

I am a rat. People think they have everything they spend money on, but money means nothing to me.
Self-explanatory.
Rather short and kinda basic game but felt it was alright. Was kinda hoping a new area to infect once you beat the current area but regardless feel its alright. Played it on hard when I started felt it was rough at times but again was hard difficulty. Even asks if you want to drop it down after a few deaths. But once you learn the house its not to bad. I did not expect a great deal from this game but dose have some alright game play and some funny stuff the humans say...can get a bit overused but again the game is kinda short so would not be to bad. The boss fights do break up the stealth aspect of the game but feel it dose add more to the game then just doing the same thing to each house over and over
If I was to recommend this game would say to do normal difficulty...and maybe to wait for a sale. That is if you enjoy short stealth like games

Fairly simplistic game. Not really meant to be taken seriously (obviously).
Every mechanic in the game is pretty easy, aside from poisoning food. By far the most annoying of the mechanics as it can be reset on you for almost any reason. For that reason I suggest knocking out that mechanic last in every house. Trust me. You'll thank me later.
Game steadily feeds you new mechanics as you go from house to house keeping things interesting, but eventually it stops, and the final 4-5 houses are very repetitive w the exact same goals. Nothing new.
Final boss is a cheating rage-inducing piece of ♥♥♥♥. Had to cheese (pun not intended) the hell out the fight just to win.
Overall... meh. Not terrible. Not great. Amusing for a bit.
