Sabe aquele momento em que você percebe que a sua maior conquista na vida é não conseguir pular de uma pilastra para a outra sem virar patê de indiano? Pois bem, Raji está aqui para te lembrar disso com a maior elegância possível.

Por que você deve jogar (e sofrer com estilo):
Visual de cair o queixo (literalmente): O jogo é tão bonito que eu passei quase metade do tempo tirando prints das arquiteturas de Paharpur e a outra metade morrendo porque esqueci que não estava em um tour virtual do Ministério do Turismo da Índia, mas sim no meio de uma invasão demoníaca.

Combate "Dancinha da Morte": A Raji não luta, ela faz um número de ginástica olímpica com armas divinas. É tudo muito fluido e artístico até você errar o timing e levar uma bofetada de um demônio que parece ter saído de um pesadelo após comer muita pimenta.

Aulas de Mitologia Grátis: Esqueça os livros. Aqui, os próprios Deuses (Vishnu e Durga) ficam fofocando sobre a sua performance enquanto você joga. É como ter dois narradores divinos julgando cada erro seu. "Olha lá, Vishnu, ela caiu de novo." "É, Durga, a juventude de hoje não é mais a mesma." Em resumo, dois deuses ficam narrando sua vida como se fosse um reality show divino. Spoiler: eles não estão impressionados com seus pulos errados.

Trilha Sonora: A música é tão boa que eu quase perdoei o jogo por aquela seção de plataforma que me fez questionar minha coordenação motora.

Veredito:
Se você gosta de jogos de ação e aventura com uma direção de arte que faz sua placa de vídeo lacrimejar de emoção, e não se importa em ser humilhado por uma arquitetura milenar, compre este jogo. É uma jornada curta, linda e culturalmente rica que vai te fazer querer usar um trishul para resolver seus problemas com aquele colega chatão do trabalho.

Nota: 9/10 (Só não dou 10 porque a Raji pula melhor que eu e isso faz me sentir ainda mais sedentário).

可圈可点的小游戏，风景的确很漂亮很有特色，剧情过场的皮影戏与场景探索里的神话壁画都做得十分不错，但优点也只有这方面了。音乐没怎么注意。
剧情就是很简单的弟弟被怪物掳走然后姐姐带着神器追回弟弟顺便拯救神界，作为战斗频率很高(走几步就有一场遭遇战，见面三秒开始战斗hhhh)的游戏，武器和成长系统做得很烂，动作僵硬前后摇很大，怪又是成群结队地刷不讲武德地围殴，几乎没有任何战斗体系和操作空间，全程只能一直闪避然后找到一点机会刮痧打一下又继续闪避，所以战斗方面堪称折磨，短短八个小时打得人力竭心累😭

А мне понравилось игра, жаль слишкая короткая! Очень красивые пейзажы, фон, игра света, индийский колорит - супер!Бегаешь, прыгаешь и дерешься. Играла на средней сложности. Из всех видов оружия больше всего использовала лук, к нему смогла приноровиться. Все сферы нашла самостоятельно, довольно просто расположены, пропустила только две, которые после прохождения игры нашла за 10 мин., благо открывается выбор глав после прохождения. Игра легкая, кроме последнего босса, с ним пришлось помучиться. В общем - рекомендую.

Raji has great visuals — honestly unexpected from an Indian studio. The world design is beautiful, the lore has depth, and the puzzles/mechanics are solid. Overall, it’s a really good game and a refreshing experience. Only downside for me was the ending. The final boss didn’t feel like a real challenge, which made it a bit underwhelming.

A very tasteful game, glad to see come talent coming from indian studios finally. The story and the base gameplay is splendid, the brilliant artwork really shows where the attention went however unfortunately this left mechanics to be quite rough such as not having a lock in system to enemies, not being able to climb on poles often, jumping in random direction instead of intended place and the buggy wall jump attack. The hitboxes of the enemies were a bit weird, the thing that hurt the most was not having a lock system and seeing raji swing in random directions. Despite all that the game did a phenomenal job in art, music and the amazing worldbuilding. A solid first game from the studio.

Excited for the sequel, hopefully that will be way better

I am writing this review from 2 perspectives, one as a proud Indian 🇮🇳 and the other as an average gamer.

Raji: An Ancient Epic will forever be a milestone in Indian gaming industry. I've heard the stories the studio had to go through for a decade make this game possible. And in the end, (this is personal but) we get one of the best modern day media representations of hindu mythology. We come from a country where representation of our own culture is met with very harse criticisms and backlash from our 'protectors of culture'. So for that game and devs will always have my respect.

Now from the perspective of an average gamer, is this really the best we got?

Art style / UI / visuals / character design / narrative:- The game's best aspects! I know it can be subjective but every missions theme seems distinguishable. Combat animation, visual feedbacks, character designs, etc. all seem to be properly thought. The way all the hindu avatars are discussed at the end of every chapter. And Raji's own story. Nothing extraordinary nor amazing but actually very well done!

Voice acting:- It's a mix bag as the actors playing vishnu & durga did a great job. But Raji & final boss' voice acting are SO HORRIBLE ! Everytime I hear Raji speak I feel like shutting this game off. It feels someone wrote these dialogues as a part time Job.

Core gameplay:- Again not something out of the box, but atleast it flows well. All the combos and strategies to defeat a certain type of enemy it's really well done! All the weapons and powers different in there own ways

Level Design:- I think this is one of the biggest culprits of game's experience. For what base price it's justified the game is short but the biggest issue all the handful of maps don't provide enough time to explore all the combination of weapons and powers. You just end up using the new weapon as the only weapon for next mission. This ruins the freedom of usage of the core gameplay. Resulting in an gameplay experience where you desire more.

FINAL VERDICT: For what it's worth I would definitely recommend it to someone wanting to explore hindu mythology. But like for most players there is nothing else noteworthy. Jai Hind!

This game shows so much potential! The visuals and story were fantastic and I really loved the environments too. The platforming was fun and was very reminiscent of the original Prince of Persia games.
That being said, I do feel that there are a lot of unpolished aspects to the game such as the combat, the build customization interface, and the camera framing/perspective. They weren't necessarily bad but definitely could do with a bit more refining.

Overall I am genuinely happy to have played this and I am hopeful and optimistic about the sequel.

This game is visually stunning and the concept is incredible. I really enjoyed the presentation, especially the cutscenes, and enjoyed the narration and voice acting of the game.

However, this game also slightly suffers from death by a thousand cuts. Controlling Raji can feel clunky and the pseudo platforming can be terribly inaccurate.

Would I say that this is a good thing to play through? Yeah. Would I personally go for round two or try to 100% this game? Absolutely not.

The story is amazing, and I’m genuinely excited for the sequel. The art team absolutely nailed it — every scene looks beautiful, and the storytelling is peak. Experiencing a game in Hindi for the first time felt unique and refreshing.

I spent around 4–5 hours with the game and played it on Story Mode, so it was easy and let me focus fully on the narrative. Planning to replay it again for the gameplay side.

9/10 — highly recommended, give it a try.

Редко пишу отзывы, но тут не могу пройти мимо.
Хочется пожелать всем разрабам побольше таких игр.
В плане сюжета - игра = ШЕДЕВР.
Как будто, сидя дома, сходил в исторических музей мифов и легенд Индии. Каждую фреску и рассказ слушаешь завороденно.
Отдельный поклон за озвучку - погружение нереальное.

С точки зрения геймплея - очень посредственно, но это вообще не важно.

Хочется побольше таких игр разных народов и религий, было очень увлекательно, как будто экскурсия в игровой форме.

Простенькая достаточно, все ачивки собрал за 1 раз.

Стоит каждого потраченного рубля и затраченной минуты.

Смело рекомендую ради истории, за гейплеем в другую игру.
Но видно, тчо разрабы старались и с огромной любовью подошли к своей культуре.

The lore and narration pulled me in right away, and I loved all the little details where you casually learn about Indian mythology while exploring. It feels respectful and proud of its roots, which is rare to see. Combat is fast and fun, and the skill trees give you enough variety to keep things interesting without overcomplicating it. On top of that, the world just looks gorgeous. Raji is a great mix of culture, storytelling, and solid gameplay. Played it on a handheld and had a blast playing it.

Wg Steama ukończenie tej gry na 100% zajęło mi 11h, ale tak efektywnie myślę, że bardziej z 8. Bardzo podoba mi się styl artystyczny. Trójwymiarowe lokacje są piękne, a cutscenki w zupełnie innym dwuwymiarowym stylu świetnie do tego pasują. Fabuła osadzona w mitologii indyjskiej, o której nie wiedziałam nic to dodatkowy plus. W kwestii gameplayu nie jest to nic odkrywczego i raczej nikomu ogranemu walka nie sprawi dużych trudności, ale jest całkiem fajnie pomyślana, klasyczny system znajdziek i ulepszania broni, klasyczne comboski ataków. Bardzo fajne i przyjemne kilka godzin.

No really. I was so blown away with this game. Feels like OG god of war which is exactly what I wanted out of this. Mythology is likewise archaic. Actually older even than the mediterranean pantheons.
Music feels so enthralling. Played it in hindi. Felt right. Had to look at the subtitles while fighting but twas worth it. Architecture and graphics feel well rendered. The cutscenes and the usage of that 2d shadow puppetry is beautiful. I know they didnt have the luxury of funds and time to make the full game they wanted. But this is clearly a labour of love.
Combat is fun. Finally a game that showcases indian mythology; a history that stretches back to the bronze age for crying out loud and yet there's nothing to show for it in the gaming industry.

As someone of Indian descent who has been a gamer his whole life, I trully love this game and everything it stands for.
May this game be the stepping stone for India. China is miles ahead with their countless Three kingdom renditions and wukong. It is time for India to catch up and be bold. Easier said than done for sure. Devs almost went bankrupt just making this masterpiece.

Интересная игрушка! Но, даже на уровне начинающий, сложно было пройти в некоторых местах xD
Но, прошла за 2 дня.
Мне понравилось, что в игре не только бои, но есть сюжетная линия/пред история.
И сама атмосфера и эстетика, вид окружающей среды - очень понравилась.
Понравилось, что были рассказы о индийских богах и нас как игроков пытались вовлечь и включить в индийскую культуру.
Как понимаю будет продолжение этой игры - будем ждать! :)

As much as I love that this is an Indian mythology based game, the game is pretty bad.
Very unpolished and clunky gameplay. Horrible voice acting (both english and hindi), mid story, and the lore drop was mostly inconsequential. Also the worst design of all time for a final boss fight. The final fight is almost unwinnable on controller, but a walk in the park with mouse.

There were very nice scenes with dynamic camerawork and animation, but rarely used. The 3 builds tho interesting were unnecessary in actual gameplay. because just load one and fight thru bland troops works.

The inconsistent gameplay really makes you lose all interest in the game most of the time. I only finished to support local game development. This just needed a few more turns in polishing. Really wanted to like this.

As an Indian gamer this makes me so happy and proud. This game is clearly a product of passion and great art. From the narration cutscenes to the lore exposure, from the combat animation to UI design, everything was packed with artistic beauty and a love for the culture. The combat system and skill tree definitely made it evident that the devs need more time and experience to make it all smoother, but it was a solid foundation. The enemy encounters felt like I had to brute force them by spamming certain combos or just be on the run dodging the whole time, there could've been a better balance there. The combat also didn't feel as rewarding, since the encounters didn't really give you anything, it was just an obstacle to the next story/lore bit. I also felt like the ending was a bit abrupt, I was expecting for a more solid clear conclusion. Now it makes more sense considering it was being set up for the sequel, which I am really excited for. The final boss is definitely overtuned considering the amount of attacks being thrown at you, I had a hard time defeating it even on easy difficulty (whole playthrough was on normal). These are all problems solvable with more experience as devs go further and I am really looking forward to the sequel being a more polished product. Solid 8/10.

拉吉：远古传奇，印度味十足的游戏。因为TGA入围，打算试试看，2块的key，个人觉得很不错。
1：印度配音，有中文字幕。
2：体量不大，不追求全收集，3小时通关。
3：跑酷解谜战斗收集加点全有，很想做包容万象的游戏，什么都有，但什么都缺，战斗招式很花哨，但用处不大，BOSS的还可以。
4：最喜欢是配音配乐，以及印度神话部分。很新奇，也很吸引人，场景设计美术部分，很棒。
5：全通关后可以选章节，方便做全成就，有部分小BUG重进即可。

Keyboard+Mouse works well. If you're planning to play with a controller it's going to be tough, especially the final boss fight. Noticed a few bugs where in some parts of the game 'pause' has no effect. The characters continue to be affected by the environment. Apart from these, the art direction is pretty good, combat is stylish. Would recommend.

Short and sweet, fun for an adventure game (which I usually don’t play). I absolutely loved the storyline, it was simple and straight to the point, but also felt mythic at the same time. It didn’t need novel-quality writing: it was a story about a sister trying to be reunited with her brother, with fate throwing a wrench in that throughout the whole series (it’s an adventure game, not an RPG, after all).
The synopses of Hindu myths were actually really fascinating, and I never found myself so inspired by any game before. They chose really fun stories that got me interested in reading more about Vedic mythology as a whole, just out of curiosity. The gameplay was easy to master, and I felt engaged for the most part. It paced itself well and progressively got harder throughout about 90% of the game. The final boss was a little easy, but otherwise the pacing felt appropriate. I enjoyed the banter between Durga and Vishnu (with Vishnu basically being dismissive of Raji until she does something to benefit him, and then he’s suddenly on her side). The aesthetic, especially the cutscenes when it went into a sort of paper-doll mode, was phenomenal. The scenery itself was beautiful, and I found myself inadvertently exploring everything I could.
I rarely go for achievements, but I got about 80% of them just by being curious about the world around me. I wanted to find all of the orbs, and I think I only missed some, but most of them were very easy to find. I only got lost in one part, and even then only briefly, which is saying something since I have a terrible sense of direction.
The music was pleasing, and I just wanted more of it in my life. The boss fights (or, in the case of Naga, not really a boss fight but more of a boss encounter) were fun and had enjoyable mechanics. I especially loved the Rangda fight. The encounter was challenging at first, but once you figured out her move set, it felt easy enough to make you feel like you had accomplished something.
Weird camera angles at times made some of the platforming a little harder than it needed to be. That might have been intentional, but there were a few (not many) instances where it became a problem. The controls and combat aren’t very intuitive at first, but they’re easy to get the hang of. The story is a bit short, and it felt like everything went above and beyond until the last area in the desert. That section felt like the developers ran out of ideas and started throwing tough mobs at you. It wouldn’t have been much of a problem if the game were longer. The ending itself felt a little rushed, which is probably my biggest complaint, since I really enjoyed the storyline and aesthetic. I wish there had been more to the final part of the story. I also wish the game were a bit longer overall, with more weapons and levels.
Overall, it was a fun experience, it’s rare that I walk away from a game feeling inspired by a foreign culture and wanting to learn more about it the way Raji made me feel.

Raji: An Ancient Epic is a truly special action-adventure that stands out mainly through its setting and atmosphere. The world inspired by Indian mythology feels refreshingly different from the usual fantasy games.

Visually, it’s beautiful: a strong color palette, striking temple and palace environments, and a presentation that often feels like a playable myth. I also enjoyed the storytelling approach — weaving gods and legends into the journey gives it a unique identity. The quieter exploration moments are great too, with details and lore that make the world feel alive.

Combat is accessible and fun, and it rewards good dodging and timing. The puzzles and platforming sections add variety and keep the pacing nice without breaking the flow.

Verdict: A highly atmospheric adventure with a unique mythological setting and gorgeous presentation. If you want something beyond “standard fantasy,” Raji is absolutely worth checking out.

This is the first Indian game i have played and it's really great for the start of the Indian Gaming.
Let me list the pros & cons.

Pros:
1. Story was really great about 'Raji' (the main protagonist) trying to save her little brother who got captured by the evil god 'Mahabalasura'.
2. I loved the art style of every Indian places that i couldn't stop looking at it, so i had to take the screenshot. Otherwise, i wouldn't have moved forward with the story since i would be looking at the art style.
3. I loved the soundtrack of a traditional classical Indian music.
4. I loved there were separate stories of Indian god's.

Cons:
1. Combat was okayish and some of the enemies were harder, but i could at least get past that.
2. I wasn't really comfortable with the 2D design because i kept falling whenever i tried to jump.
3. Last but not least, i really really really really hated the final boss fight of 'Mahabalasura' because of how hard and unforgiving it was. It took me a whole hour to defeat that and mostly because i had to change the difficulty from 'Normal' to 'Easy'. But that was also difficult.

Other than that, the game is almost perfect and i cannot wait for the next sequel which is 'Raji: Kaliyuga'.
I recommend this game to people who loved a really good indie game and also for Indians who would want to try this game.

I recently completed Raji: An Ancient Epic, and the experience was nothing short of amazing. It took me around 5.5 hours to finish, and throughout the journey, the game kept me hooked with its stunning visuals and deep connection to Indian mythology.

The graphics are beautiful, the environments feel handcrafted, and the presence of Indian gods and their stories adds emotional depth to Raji’s adventure. The narration by Maa Durga and Lord Vishnu makes the storytelling even more powerful, guiding and supporting Raji through her mission to rescue her brother.

If I had to point out one thing that felt a bit empty, it would be the moments during long travel sections where there was no Indian-style background music. A little ambient music or cultural soundscape would have made those parts feel more alive.

But honestly, aside from that small missing touch, the game is an awesome journey—a heartfelt story about courage, devotion, and mythology brought to life.

Overall: A beautiful and memorable experience that every Indian mythology lover should try.

Just finished Raji: An Ancient Epic, and it’s honestly one of the most beautiful action-adventure games I’ve played in a while. You play as Raji, a young girl chosen by the gods to fight off demons and rescue her brother. The story is inspired by Indian mythology, and the game’s art style makes every level feel like you’re walking through a moving painting.

Combat is simple but fun—you get cool divine weapons, do some stylish acrobatics, and fight demons on these gorgeous, handcrafted stages. The platforming and puzzles mix things up too. And the soundtrack? Absolutely amazing. It gives the whole game this epic, mythological vibe.

It’s not a super long game, and a few parts feel a bit rough around the edges, but the heart, culture, and visuals totally make up for it. If you’re into atmospheric adventures or mythology-inspired stories, this one’s definitely worth playing.

A short, stunning, heartfelt journey.

Enjoy my time with this 1.
From the gameplay not becoming stale, because of the different enemies.
The world & design is beautiful.
Also how they did the cutscences, suited the game.

However the difficulty curve, of the final boss...got super abilities.
Each difficulty is the opposite of what it should be. E.g normal is very hard.
I had to put is on easy(final boss). Which played like you are on normal.
I would say normal is the right balance of engagement but not being boerd, throughout the game.

This one is best experienced as a rich cultural trip into Hindu mythology. Gameplay wise is unimpressive but familiar. The selling point of the game, for me, is the artistic choices on the storytelling. It should be a relaxing game, but if you are playing on Hard, be prepared for some annoying deaths - and expect no reward for it. So playing on Normal might be the overall best choice.

I do remember some things different when I played the demo, like the puzzles being harder. I am betting a lot of things were either balanced or cut out in the finished product, and I would not be surprised if it was to fix some issues of pacing. Regardless, it was a fun and unique experience which I recommend.

Refreshing game about cultural ideas that are different than most games I've seen. Combat is good, but not sure about the platforming - especially on PC with keyboard and mouse, it seems like some of the walls and platforms should be more "sticky" but the game requires you have high precision with the controls instead. Also, there is a lot of "walking simulator" segments that I wish they didn't have. Lastly, there is a stealth segment in the game that take a bit too long to progress because of how random the enemy is.

Raji is a good game, but not the best. I really like that Indian developers are making PC games and not jumping straight into creating AAA titles. They started with a passionate project and did really well in many areas.

However, when it comes to controls and combat, things fall apart. I struggled with the controls the entire time. The i-frames were very inconsistent, and the combat felt clunky. The game launched in 2020, so the developers have had around 5 years to improve the controls and combat but they still haven’t. I think they are more focused on their new upcoming game, Raji: Kalyuga.
On the positive side, the story and narration are superb. I personally loved the Hindi voice acting and dialogue as an Indian, that part made me really happy and proud.

Overall, I would give this game a 6/10. It’s a combat-heavy game, and unfortunately the combat and controls are the weakest part. I truly hope they fix these issues in their next title.

This is a pretty good game with well crafted levels and pretty looking areas. The only complaints that i have are:-
#Towards the end, the battles felt like filler(as if they had nothing to put there so they put monsters)
#THERE IS STILL A MAJOR GAME BREAKING BUG AT THE END OF THE GAME(beginning of the desert level) which can completely stop you from progressing any further. Luckily, there was a solution found by the community which helped me fix it. PLZ FIX THAT BUG!!!!! IDK WHY ITS STILL THERE EVEN IF IT HAS BEEN SO LONG SINCE THE RELEASE OF THE GAME.
Overall a 7-8/10 game... would recommend.

The devs didn't play test the final boss on the hardest difficulty.

Edit: I finally beat it on hard through sheer will power!

If the devs ever see this, I will change this review to positive if you upload youtube video of you beating the boss on the hard difficulty.

I don't remember properly, but I think I watched an old video of Raji developer walking through the streets and meeting an old street musician back when the game was in development. After the game release, I wanted to know about their next project, but I couldn't find any news. Now after their sequel announcement, I thought it was the right time to support and experience the game before the release of the sequel.

1. The best part of the game is its beautifully created levels, which show our incredible architecture and religious stories of gods, which educate people about our culture, etc.

2.Even though the game is short, I enjoyed it. I hope they improve the combat a bit more for the sequel, and I wish them another big success.
