Before you buy: You can't get items, unless the devs manually fix your steam account in their database. Check discord.
I spent the last 3 weeks trying to get items:
- killed about 5,000 enemies and even beat the second boss.
- Beat the first boss dozens of times.
- installed and played quivr vanguard to fix the 'player data corrupt' issue
- deleted system files registry files
- played the old-main and beta versions
No items.
If you check discord.gg/quivr there are countless players over the past 5 YEARS crying, begging, pleading the devs to fix their games, and they just don't care. The item database is probably server side, and it's been probably offline since 2019.
Does not save my progress
In over 40 minutes of playtime, this game only tried to save my progress twice and failed both times, displaying an error message about corrupted data. Just to make sure, I checked by leaving the game and when coming back, none of my collected resources were present, making it impossible to upgrade my gear, which is NECESSARY to beat the rising difficulty of later levels.
I have had more fun with virtual archery in Skyrim.
Fun
(HTC Vive) Still has the bug where you don't get any progression. Sometimes works great, other times your hands and box shake all over the place. I don't have that issue with any other games. It's too bad this game seems to be abandoned. Get Elven Assassin instead.
Great game. Sole developer seems to have been hit by a bus and the backend servers have been offline since 2020. Should be removed from sale.

You will have fun with this game until you realize you cant's save your progress in the game. You won't be able to get new items, skills and forget about multiplayer. Including the fact how long this game exist you get the complete picture of what kind of people are this game's developers. Sad, since I like the gameplay a lot.
Fun little game, great for beginners
So far what I played, I liked. I wouldn't pay more then $5, for this older game but was fun for the concept. Very basic but challenging. I've too had some saving issues.
Do not buy this game.
I will say it is very fun the first hour or so, but the game will NOT save any sort of progress. Progress is supposed to to include unlocking new cosmetics and abilities on your gear. At the end of every run, my friend and I always came across a "corrupted save data". I searched for any possible way to resolve and fix it, but could not find one solution. That being said... if the game functioned how it was designed to, it would be a pretty fun game to play with friends.
PS. QuiVr Vanguard that comes with QuiVr, is a little more functional. However, it is a complete downgrade to QuiVr. It is wave based, but in the starting area of the game with no change in area or terrain.

After my first run i got no reward due to an "corupt File" Error. Ive searched for the problem and Installed QuiVR Vanguard Launched it and at first sight it seemed to have solven the problem.
(another game u have to buy to fix a bug in this one!)
But from there on i only got that Crafting shard currency as reward. I thought i was just unlucky but then i recrafted my gloves and noticed the change doesnt get saved.
I reinstalled the game. Deleted all files from Local and reinstalled first vanguard , launched, played it for a while then installed QuiVR again. no change.
The Item System is a key part of the game and since the whole process took me more then 6 hours there is no refund.
I feel frauded since this bug seems to exist 5 years now and almost noone getting anny items.

The game is pretty good looking and i like the unique effects. But I am not the biggest fan of the game play even though I am very new to this game. I probably didn't give it enough time but it just seems very repetitive.
We run this in our VR arcade and people LOVE it. Challenging enough to keep things interesting but easy enough to learn controls/hop into a server together.

This is one of my 2 go-to VR games when I just want to enjoy some VR.
The other game is Beat Saber.
This game looks good, but my only complaint is that it doesn't seem to get any updates... It would be nice to have some new enemies and levels added to the mix.
But I still really enjoy this game.
The archery mechanics feel pretty realistic and playing for a little while actually gives you a bit of a bicep workout.
If you like archery games, this is a great game.

I'll start by saying that 1.) I'm a new player that bought the game recently, and 2.) despite not recommending this game, I do enjoy the gameplay. The singular issue that prevents me from recommending this game, is that there is STILL a game-breaking bug that, as far as I can tell after a quick google search, has persisted since September of 2017. This bug causes you to be completely incapable of getting new equipment, stating that your save file is corrupted each and every time you get an item at the end of a run. In other words, it's completely impossible for new players to progress in terms of equipment, and many older players are coming back to the game after a break to discover their save file is corrupted.
There are supposedly a couple of things that can be done in an attempt to circumvent this bug, including deleting a particular file and allowing steam to redownload it, and installing the vanguard version of the game and running that first, though I've read from several posts that for some people neither of these solutions work. Frankly, in either case, neither of these steps should be necessary, and the fact that they still are after [b]FIVE YEARS[/b] is just unacceptable. Had I been aware of this problem before hand, I would not have bought the game at all. If you don't care about the equipment and are simply looking for a fun archery game, I suppose Quivr can still accomplish that, but I'll leave you to exercise your own judgement.
One of the very first games I purchased when the HTC Vive/Oculus Rift came out. 5-6 years later this is still my favorite experience in VR. The shooting physics and game mechanics have no rivals despite being so simple and predictable, and the implementation of your character in the world feels spot on just as much as the excitement level when another player joins in with you in multiplayer. It is a special type of game where you can instantly come in and have fun without experience and yet even hundreds of hours invested you still have miles to go mastering your precision like an endless "end game" that never gets old as you climb for a respectable leaderboard style

On sale or not this is a must have game in your top 3 VR titles. This is the title that will always stay in favorites and never gets the "make room for something else" currently installed game cuts. Bravo! to the developers and I cannot wait to see what comes next.

Most of my playtime was when bosses weren't implemented yet. For some reason with the boss update, I just didn't like it. Maybe it was similar looking canyons that made the game feel linear. Originally, you would start at the edge of your kingdom and push the enemies further away and create a buffer area. When you failed a wave, you got pushed back closer to your kingdom and it created this nice tug-of-war. Now you only go forward and has lost that immersion.
Do some research on the bow and arrow games on the market and go from there.

This game has a fun concept and great bow controls but there are too many issues to recommend it. A few issues I have run into are a low frame rate even with my 3070 starting at 60-70 at the early waves and progressively getting worse the further you go. Second is that is no snap turn for anything other that Oculus systems so I was regularly getting my cord bundled up behind me from turning and this became a bigger issue than the enemies. Finally my first run ended with a corrupt save at the time I thought it was a joke because of the corrupt looking enemies but soon I realized the loot I had been collecting was not being saved until I reinstalled the game and I am not looking forward to loosing loot in the future if this happens again. I know the game was release years ago and it has had these issues for a few years now that I have looked into it. If it had a little more polish I would love to continue playing but it has become too much of a hassle just to have a headache at the end of the session from these issues.
Really fun game.
It's a fun gate defense game, only two upsetting things that I've seen so far.
1. There is no aiming reticle so it can be difficult and demotivating for new players.
2. It seems like every time I unlock a new item and log out, the next time I play the item is no longer there.
If they were to fix these two things I feel like a lot more people would be up to play. Maybe even add in a daily challenge or something. Because as of right now the player base is a little low so it's difficult to get into a multiplayer lobby.
Archery was a different experience for a first person shooter.
Perfect into to the VR world. Game never gets dull.
As an archer apprentice, I can safely say that this is by far the best archery VR game out there.

An outstanding wave shooter with the most realistic bow mechanics by a country mile. The quality is up there with In Death i think and of course this has multi player which is a huge bonus. Generally if you are patient others will join your multi player game but the number of players is not what it used to be. I think It's because many casual game players are moving to Quest and Facebook, despite the game being submitted several times, has still not approved this game for quest. Damn shame. If you like Archery games and wave shooters this is a classic gem that years later is still at the top of the heap.

Quivr is still one of the best VR archery games, and my personal favorite VR game that's been made. The physics are great, and the gameplay loop has been improved so much over the past few years. There's so much more depth to the game that will keep you coming back, as long as you don't wear your arms out :)

Fantastic. Just a really solid archery game, with none of those 'if only' bad items. Room for more good items? Yes. But it's ironed out the sticking points more than any other archery game but maybe holopoint, which I'd rank equal, but pretty different in flavor. I rec both.
Quivr is a pretty fun game. It's one of the older ones out there, but it's worth it, I think. The game's multiplayer community is mostly dead, to my dismay, but it's become a favourite way to pass time in quarantine. Tiring on the arms after a while, but the more you play, the longer it takes for that to happen, from what I've seen. Just wish it had more players..
Wow, the upside down stuff is crazy! Almost lost my lunch. It’s a blast, but your arms do get sore.
It's an early VR game (I believe it came out around 2017 on EA) and you can really tell, as the early games focused on prioritising one mechanic and excelling at it. Unfortunately I think archery as a VR mechanic has been long explored now and is no longer novel - resulting in a fairly mediocre experience. Sadly with its main mechanic not being interesting, you have a fairly boring wave defence game with a dead multiplayer scene.
(I think Elven Assassin managed to poach the potential community this game could have achieved by its addition of a PvP mode.)
The archery is well implemented, satisfying and will make your arms ache after a while. It's just that times have moved on and I think if you've played any of the newer/larger VR games then you'll find this small early indie project a bit underwhelming given its review score.
honestly i cant whole heartedly recommend the game due to the jitter which happens reliably during startup and switching of scenes.
its other wise very enjoyable and challenging enough to be intresting.
the archery is a little finicky. it requires too much movement sometimes which hurts your arms after awhile.

A great game for fitness and fun. I'd buy it again if a version was made native to the Quest 2 . Not really into the Vanguard version: found it a bit boring.
QuiVr is a very good and solid game especially if you like archery. It is all about archery and shooting waves of various "monsters" that are trying to destroy your fortress. It does become a bit redundant but that is what I believe most wave shooters are. The physics of the archery are superb. However, be prepared for getting your arms tired from the repetitive motions. Overall, this is one of the better wave shooters that rely on bow and arrows. Teleporting, via shooting at way points allows you to advance position and vary the angle of attack against the onslaught of enemies. The multi-player option makes it fun to play with others.
QuiVR is Beautiful and the gameplay is satisfying. it's more polished than some other RPG-like experiences, and collecting items over time is fun.

This will be my first review for a game off steam, I felt compelled to do so by this absolute gem of a game. The physics behind the archery leave it second to none, and personally, my favorite VR game thus far (next to Alyx).
I'm left speechless when playing this game solo, or co-op. The developer seems to be active in the Discord and even on the forums. That level of commitment only speaks further to the incredible atmosphere of this brilliant game. The teleport to targets, item accrual system, and level of detail in the phases/boss fights have me enamored.
Better still, the game's price is absolutely affordable and is worthy of purchasing.
If you're looking for a game to prove VR's rise, you have to play QuivR, easily in my top 3 of VR games thus far. I play on an Oculus rift quest 2 and the tracking/resolution - fps are all terrific.
This game is a must buy, I hope you give it a shot and end up as blown away as I've been so far.
Will It VR?: Right on target. (But with an important, easy bug fix. Read Below!)
VR seems like it was made for archery games. Unlike holding a gun in VR, pulling a bow feels natural and intuitive. QuiVr delivers that gameplay in a simple but engaging loop that has kept me coming back.
QUICK BUG FIX TIP: Right now, QuiVr seems to have a bug that keeps you from collecting equipment. You can fix this issue by running QuiVr Vanguard once. If you do that, QuiVr should work correctly.
QuiVr has come a long way from its simple static, wave-after-wave gameplay (though that experience is still available via QuiVr Vanguard). It's still a wave shooter, but there's a lot more to it. Power-ups, boss critters, enemies that require tactical thinking, and puzzle levels all round out the experience. Do it right and you'll get a piece of equipment that you can use, and you can upgrade and enchant your equipment as well. There are a lot of simple subsystems mixed in - not so much that they're distracting, but enough to give the experience a more polished and immersive feel.
QuiVr shines in multiplayer, where you can team up to cover all your angles and have each others' backs. Puzzle levels scale up to player number as well, so the challenge stays solid.

I'll start by saying, what I have played of the game is super fun. I really enjoyed it.
Unfortunately though this game is marred by really poor performance and seeing that others have raised it with the dev only to be told its "their configuration" is disheartening.
Like many others I struggle to reach 40fps running a 3800x and an RTX3090. The game seems to start okay and runs at 60FPS for a while which is bearable but begins to slowly decrease over time. Less than 40 makes me feel ill so I only really got a couple hours in.
I'd really love to see this improve and will be happy to update my review if the game is patched in the future.
This game looked really promising at first. But after a few play sessions the bugs took all the fun out of it. It's extremely frustrating when the progression system is broken, making any replay value worth less than going to an arcade. I'd consider coming back if the problems were fixed, but otherwise I'm just not interested.

タワーディフェンスのように巨大な門に向かって化け物が押し寄せてくるが、タレットを設置する能力はないので自らが半固定砲台となって弓矢でひたすら駆逐し続ける弓矢ゲー。
谷底を進む敵に対して城門や左右の崖の上に何箇所か狙撃場所が用意されており、そこにあるポータルを射抜くことでその地点へテレポートして応戦する。敵の処理が追いつかなくなってきたら退がる程度で、滅多に移動はせずVR酔いとも縁遠い。
守るべき門のライフゲージがなくなると敗北だが、その前に敵の死体から集まる霊魂ゲージみたいな物が貯まると敵が湧いてくる上流方向のエリアへ移動して、そこに新たな門を建てる形で定期的に戦闘エリアが変化していく。
数エリアごとに巨大ボスとの戦闘があり勝利すると誤差レベルで性能が違う装備などが貰えるが、特にクリアとかの概念はないのかすぐにまた次のエリアへと続いていく、常にエンドレスモードの様なゲームシステム。
オンラインCOOPも可能だが、特にストーリーの進行度とかがあるわけでなし、途中参加 / 退出も自由なゆる～いCOOPになっている。
[h1]■弓矢と戦闘■[/h1]
Quiver（矢筒・えびら）とVRを掛け合わせたタイトル通り矢は背中（or お尻）の矢筒から取り出して番える必要があり、また弦を限界近くまで引き絞った状態でちょっと待つとAimed Shotと呼ばれる高威力の矢を放てる。
ものは弓矢なのに矢継ぎ早に数を撃つよりも、一射一射に魂を込めて射るほうが掃滅力は高い。とはいえ溜めて射ったのに外すとタイムロスがでかいので、慣れないうちは当て勘を養うために数をこなすのも大事。
時々敵が特殊効果付きの矢を撃てるアイテムを落とす他、手袋には時間経過で回復する魔法が篭められており投擲することも可能。初期装備だと手榴弾のような性能だが、クールダウンが長いわりに範囲が狭いのでいざという時に頼りにならない。

背中から矢を引き抜き、番えて引き絞り、放つ。この一連の動作がシンプルに楽しい。クールダウンが終わり次第スキルを発動させないとDPSが落ちるとかそういう余計なことは一切考えなくていいし、一心不乱に続けていると段々クセになる。
基本的に高所からの撃ち下ろしなので上下方向の狙いのズレも分かりやすいし、主観視点だけど状況の把握も比較的容易で、わりと頭空っぽにしてても遊べる。また定期的に戦闘エリアが様変わりしていくのも飽きなくていい。
ボスドロップで火力が1.2％UPする弓みたいなLoot box要素に関しては心底どうでもいいが、ゲームそのものは基本的に好感触。冒頭で書いたとおり、「文句なしにオススメする」にあと一歩で届きそうくらいの感じではある。
ただ、何種類かいる内で、サイコロを積み上げたトーテムポールのようなボスが不快すぎる。
ボスの周囲を動き回る球体を全て射抜けばクリアというミニゲームのようなボス戦なのだが、妨害として強制的に視界を暗転させてくる。HMDを被って視覚全てをそれに依存した状態で目隠しされるだけでうざいのに、その目隠しをパカパカと1～2秒周期で開けたり閉めたり開けたり閉めたりされるとただただストレスしか感じない。
このボスを登場させない、というオプションがあったらオススメしてた。

The game could be fun but I get 20-30 fps and it makes it unplayable. Unfortunately I will be refunding and watching the development of the game to see if it gets fixed.
I want QuiVR to be good, I waited a few years for it to come out of early access, and sadly it might be the best archery simulator, but I still cannot recommend it because there's so many issues that hold it back.
To start I want to shout out top players rett and Brookcowboy for playing with me and being nice showing a newer player the ropes. These guys have 400+ hours in QuiVR and I'm really glad this game has enough end-game content that it can deliver to those dedicated players.
My biggest tripping point that I have to get off my chest before anything else is not being able to turn incrementally and having to spin 360 in my room and then hit my chair and walls when I have to draw the bow in an unexpected direction. There is no excuse for not having a 45/90 degree incremental turn functionality.
QuiVR has solid archery mechanics, provided that you can get the offset right to start since there are three sliders (horizontal, vertical, and angle) that could be messed up and make it feel like garbage, but once those feel right the bow mechanics are good and you better enjoy them or else this game is gonna get old real fast because you're gonna be shooting thousands of arrows and doing nothing else. There is no prediction or guide to help so all your shots are free aim, so you've really gotta get that muscle memory and hand eye coordination to even get past the first few enemies.
At its core QuiVR is a wave shooter but the waves are coming at a stationary gate and you can move between set spots in the valley, but the reason this is frustrating is that these spots always have a blind spot so if there is an enemy right below you about to reach your gate and you can't get a line on it or missed your window of opportunity you have to teleport to a further spot (by shooting an arrow at it which you can also spend quite a few shots failing at) to even continue aiming at it. It is because of this that the skill curve is very steep requiring the skill to shoot the small moving targets with no guide before you can even get to the first boss.
The bosses are the most exciting part of this game, but sadly they are a prime example of something that is a pain point throughout this game: no hints at what you're supposed to be doing. There are so many times even in menus or the gear upgrade system where I don't even know what button I'm supposed to push to activate the upgrade or where I get an item reward and it says right in front of me "would you like to equip? - Yes - No" and I can't even get the popup to disappear clicking every button over Yes but nothing in response. Back to the bosses, I've seen so many requests for help on the bosses like "what the hell am I even supposed to do here?" my experience with a Tremors style earth worm would have been fantastic if it was clear that the obscured red circles near the ground are the things to shoot at instead of the big spears sticking out of his face that are similar to the weak points of another boss.
Similar to this I finally found a post about the new "elite" system from 10/19/18 that says hey watch out elites can now have modifiers, but there is no explanation of that in the game. I am a huge fan of exploration in games but I'm shooting at these enemies and the arrows are bouncing off, being sent flying in random directions and occasionally those thrown off arrows are hitting portals super far away that I can't even get back to the fight because I can't hit the portals to take me back and my run is over because of it. There needs to be a minimal amount of info at least when presented with new obstacles.
My final qualm is the gear system. It definitely works if you are a dedicated player coming back for days and weeks to this game, but it does not feel respectful of the player's time to me. Each run you can get random gear and points and can spend those points in a lotto style gear upgrade system, but getting good gear and rolling good upgrades takes hours worth of grinding, so if you enjoy the game this will add replayability but unless you have done this don't expect to make it very far in the game once certain enemies show up that you have no option of even damaging because they will spit your arrows right back at you and its game over.
It's a tower defense game in a fantasy setting with a bow and arrow. If you really like bow and arrow VR games you may like this. If not, I would just skip this or at the very least buy it when it's on sale on Steam just in case you really don't like it. If there was a number system from 1-5 I would rate this at a 3, but I just didn't like the game. It's too bad that I bought the sequel as part of a bundle outside of the Steam Store.
I had some issues with starting a second VR setup, but the Dev on Discord helped me out. The new character was not saving character data between sessions. I couldn't acquire new gear or upgrade it. I really like this game. It is the main reason for buying another setup for my spouse. Sometimes the game gets a little glitchy in multi-player. It feels accurate and the more you play the better it gets. You can only beat about half of the bosses but in multi-player you can skip bosses that are impossible. I really like the weekly updated high-scores board. Makes you want to come back each week.
I've had some of the most fun, engaging moments playing cooperative VR by playing this game. Highly recommend, especially when it's on sale.

Tower defense with one weapon type.
I get terrible performance on this game. This is a threadripper 3970x and 2080 TI and I get around 35 FPS looking into the distance even at half resolution. Looking at the ground I get 300 FPS. Other games are absolutely fine in comparison.
To be clear, it's a very fun game (at least as much as I played it), but it's unsuitable for "Standing" (small space) setup, unless you have the space to turn around 360° with your eyes closed and arms stretched out, without hitting anything.
It's very fun while I can play without turning around, but the moment I find a spot where I have to turn around 180°, to shift between targets that are comming at me and targets that already passed me and are now behind me, I played the game about 3 times and I ended up hitting furniture each time. There's no real damage done yet, but I can easily see myself breaking off the outer "guard" of the index knuckle with the force I used last 3 times.
Other games solve that problem by 45° snap turning on right thumbstick, but this one doesn't have it. Odd, because I've seen requests for this feature dating back to 2016. Developer even responded, but it never made it to the game.
Another minor flaw: Lack of information about what anything does. You get a tutorial early on (which is great), because it covers gameplay, but I couldn't figure out what some of the menu options do, despite having a rough idea of what they SHOULD do. I could have sworn I've seen an option that would fix my previous problem, but it didn't do anything.... Oculus exclusive feature?
Anyways, if you've got enough space to play in it's a fun game.
This is one of the few games I keep coming back to and playing over and over after about 3 years of having the vive and 2-3 years of having this game. Multiplayer is super fun. Boss battles are awesome. Easily top 5 favorite games on vive after playing around 100 VR games
One of our family and party favorites. Do not expect hundreds of hours of varied gameplay but sore arms and rising challenges. Well worth the money if you ask me.
Just a good game, well done, play with friends, play alone, play with strangers. Some of the boss battles are quite difficult/I can't figure out what to do.
A fun archery game that will have you teleporting around the battlefield mowing down enemies.
The performance is absolutely atrocious though. After a few waves I'm barely holding 30fps which is inexcusable for my 2080 super. I even tried turning SS down to 90%
When I first started playing the game, I didn't really like it because it didn't show the trajectory of where the arrows went which can be import to new users especially if they're not used to archery games. After awhile I got used to it when I adjusted the settings of the bow. It's really fun playing with other people too!

First and for most this game is awesome. I got so immersed into it that I've become a master bowman. i'm able to shoot just about anything within 100m first shot. It feels great to play and with a large play area i'm able to move all over the pre assigned platform with ease.
This is my first VR review and I see I only have 16hrs, but think about that. I've been standing shooting a bow for 16hrs. I played 5 hours straight once. I could barely hold up my VR Bow and still wanted to keep playing. I grew up shooting bows and love it.
So Thumbs up totally worth $20. BUT...
I don't play much anymore because it got boring and repetative after a while.
Things I would recommend to get me back into play. (In order or importance to me.)
#1. Remove or Lower the failure rate. This is the #1 problem i have with the game. I grind and grind and grind and upgrades are random. I want Level 1 to cost X, level 2 to be 2x, 3x, 4x. I want downgrades to be minor or just fail and cost my fragments, but not mess up the item. maybe 1 in 1000 causes the item to blow up or something. I'm fine with that. @#$@#$ happens. especially with magic fragments :D
How about Multiple buffs to items. Sure this could get OP, so careful. I feel like if I'm at 100hours on this game I would homing arrows of fire and chain lightning could shoot out of my eyes. ooo how about Eagle EYE zoom with the bow trigger?
2. It's super linear and grindy. I realize this is a complicated issues.
Have the mobs drop something. I would feel better about grinding if they dropped stuff. I had a quivr that gave fragments for killing. If that was passive skill I games after 10 hours. It would be great.
3. Quest System. I want to know that if I do X, I get X. Through questing I can build my gear style not by random rewards.
4. Mobs. OMG more mobs! so far so good. I understand the issue with modeling and AI. that's why i saved it for last.

This is the type of game that great reflexes can make you a master in! To some, it may get repetitive but so far, I am def. enjoying it. It's getting to where for me, it'll be as addicting as Gorn is. Only thing i'd suggest, wait until it goes on sale. It maybe worth $20 for me but for the avg. VR player 10-15 is the perfect price for this game.
QuiVR aged gracefully(unlike Elven Assassin) and is still very enjoyable Longbow wave shooter.
Pros:
+ Satisfying and very customizable bow handling
+ Challenging and varied "bosses": from classic giant baddies to precision challenges and light puzzles
Cons:
- First few waves are way too slow and easy, they become very tedious in repeated playthroughs. Would be really nice if a player could pick a starting wave
- Visuals are mediocre at best: environments and enemies only look decent from far away
Great game to play. Played it first quite awhile ago, was quite boring since had to start at gate 1 all the time. With the changes so you can start play at a higher gate and added creatures it has become much more fun and challenging to play. After stopping this game originally I went over to Elven, but unfortunately the developers are not listening to the general public. You have to start at level 1 and it is boring until you get to level 50. # of use (myself included) hold the record for the most amount of waves, which was 298 completed waves and we died on the 299th. It took 8 hours of play to get there.
I now have 158 hours (Dec 21/2019) playing Quivr and I recommend it to all my friends and encourage them to buy the game. I also like the fact that you can have a private game that any of your assigned friends can join, without a password.

The game might be fun, but I was not able to even play the game correctly because there is a .5 second to 1 second delay for the release of the arrow/throwing which rendered it unplayable. I am using a Rift S. I will change my rating if this is fixed.
Left arm hurts... will torture self again because the game is fun once you calibrate the bow to your liking.
I really enjoy this game. It doesn't take long for you to feel like Legolas/Hawkeye and its simple enough that you can pick up whats going on within a few minutes. The puzzles are challenging and skill based so you feel accomplished when you get through one. Multiplayer works as you expect it to and I haven't had any issues with it. Enemies scale in difficulty and number the more people you have in a game. Great soundtrack as well when things get heated it kicks off some really great music to pump you up. Please make a QuiVR2 it would be an instant buy for me if you follow this same formula and just expanded on it.
Tower defense in VR; with really well implemented fun archery, and some gear progression.
This is a good game for when you want to kill someone, but not go to jail. If you don't change the position of your quiver and really try to have decent archery form, it will tone up your arms. You get nice little loot rewards that can make things more interesting as well as little game rewards such as shell games or giant sand worms. The visuals are pretty nice and the game is intuitive. If it doubt what something is, shoot it and find out if it does anything. This is a game that you can play with loved ones and probably still love them afterwards. The music is conduce to a calmer mental state.
Wow....Quivr has challenged me in several areas. I loved to bow hunt and found the bow to be very realistic. I see some do not think so and I found the adjustments to my style of shooting to be very helpful in acclimating to the aiming. The strategies learned form other players is super, not to mention the people sharing it. When I play with people better than me, I see the capabilities that come with patience and skill development. My challenge is to wait for the shot and take careful aim when things get crazy, decide who needs to be killed and where not to waste time shooting when so much needs to be done.
It has really helped get me moving and active without going to the gym! This will also challenge you physically if you are out of shape....enjoy
EDIT: The game has become unplayable, the graphics go all buggy just after the loading screen. I reported it to the Devs and there has been no follow up or changes made. I am sad to say due to this I can no longer recommend this game.

QuiVr has the best archery mechanics out there. It actually feels like you are pulling the draw (on a really low weight) bow when playing.
This game is super fun and I love playing it.
This game has came so far and been improved upon so much. Absolutely recommend it to anyone who likes bow and arrow games this is definitely one of the best if not the best out there when it comes to it.
Nice touch with the upgrading system too I like the whole armoury part it's really well done, the last time I played this it had only one area for the menu and now it's been completely overhauled. If your on the edge whether to buy it, go for the pack that comes with vangaurd and you also get the more traditional tower defence mode as a separate game (It has quite a few differences with progression etc.). Worth a buy for sure!
I love shooting bows. The archery mechanics in this game is fun, however, multiplayer is dead, a lot of the times I was playing multiplayer by myself and I get it, progression is slow, you can only get a single random item at the end of a run sometimes. The elite enemies are not fun, if there was a way to upgrade your gear, then maybe the elite enemies would be more enjoyable to fight. What's fun is when you make an amazing shot and kill an enemy, but as of now, you could make an amazing shot but then your arrow is negated by some magic shield, that's not fun. Especially when you have a wall of elite enemies coming at you, all with shields and auras and all you have is a basic bow and arrow. It's pretty much game over regardless of how good you are at shooting. I can see why there are not a lot of people in multiplayer now, people quit playing after a few of those runs.

This game gives a good showing of VR archery simulators, for sure the best i've played
Pros:
-reliable bow handling
-cool power ups
-good multiplayer
-feels very immersive
Cons:
-some of the vantage points are super ♥♥♥♥♥♥ for smaller play areas
-tutorials for powerups could be easier to discern, ideally text included
-can get repetitive, but I recommend anyways

I have really got into this game lately. There is single and multiplayer modes. Most people are really cool, and no trolls. I always have fun on here. Plus the devs are updating and improving this game, so it just keeps getting better.
I really like bow and arrow VR games, but I'm lukewarm on tower defense. To me, QuiVR seems to be more fun, less repetitive than some others like Elven Assassin. I also prefer the bow mechanics in this one. I'd give it a 3.5/5 star rating. At the time I was playing this there seemed to be enough players to get multiplayer games going often enough.
Having power-ups, and equipment to find and upgrade your character is a nice touch. I like being able to move forward through the level also - it adds more dynamic. The 'bosses' can get a bit tiresome and repetitive. The graphics are fairly basic, but that doesn't bother me much.
The developers recently released another version - QuiVR Vanguard. I'm guessing there was a lot of requests by fans of the game to bring back the original version of the game. I'm not sure what this might do to the already small player base (splitting it up between the games). I feel like there should really be only one, until there's a large enough VR install base to support more.
You may enjoy this game if:
- you like tower defense and bow & arrow
- you enjoy grinding your way through progressively harder levels to see how far you can make it
- you like games that are easy to jump in and just play
Awesome game, I think it deserves to be wayy more popular than the other of it's genre, like elven assasin. The bow and arrow is customisable at will so that you can set it to feel really comfortable with it. It has awesome repeatable gameplay (that does not feel repetitive), bosses, special enemies, spells, you name it. A must have if you have a VR headset.

PASSEZ VOTRE CHEMIN SI VOUS AVEZ DEJA TIRÉ A L'ARC IRL... la simulation est probablement la pire de tous les jeux d'archerie... meme le lab est plus réaliste. Dommage
Getting boring pretty fast since you just shoot over and over again.
Customisation of your char/bow/arrow is pretty neat and some lvls are quite fun.
If you get this game in a sale for 5 you should buy it. Its fun for a few hours of gameplay.
But theres one thing that makes it unplayable for me.
When you grab an arrow with your right hand and put it onto the string it teleports slightly to the left, so your hand is not properly translated to the ingame hand.
Holding my hand on my right ear IRL translates to the hand on the left ear ingame. Its made so its easier to shoot straight i believe but it just feels untrue. I had to hold my hand around 10cm away from my head so i wouldnt constantly shoot arrows out of my face.
While you dont grab onto the bowstring your Hand feels just fine.

Painful-to-use menus with a lack of ranged interaction options makes this otherwise-pretty-fun game into an exercise in frustration. Most good VR games (like Rec Room) extend the range of grab actions so that you can do them with poor tracking or limited space. I feel like the devs decided to try to make the most *immersive* menu possible... at the cost of making it actually usable. It'd be such a simple fix too - if you wanted to keep the immersion, just give users a long pointy stick (maybe even an arrow?) to interact with menu objects... because as it stands, trying to equip different bows/quivers is more trouble than it's worth.
Edit: I personally dont like the game too much, but its one of the favorites on VR Parties i did, because of its accessability and compelling bow-gameplay. Its not as overwhelming as other games (looking at you H3VR), so people feel comfortable playing this.
I enjoy the archery itself, but the game feels pretty barebone. Maybe it isnt, but its very sparse in communicating information to the player. Either visually or by text.
when you start out the game there is no kind of reward-cycle in place and killing the monsters more feels like a chore than a success, as you dont have an indication of progress or score.
Its not a bad game per se, just nothing for me.
But the archery itself is really solid, best one i had so far.

Fun multiplayer.
I bought the game Elven Assassin because I liked the idea of a VR Tower Defense game where the players are the towers. I also liked the fantasy setting of Orcs and Dragons and whatnot. While I enjoyed the game it lacked progress and customization. While looking at reviews for the game I saw a couple posts saying that QuiVR was a similar game but better so I decided to check it out. I checked out a gameplay video by a YouTuber followed by a quick 15 minute dive into the Demo (which seems to be from a much older build of the game and doesn't quite do it justice)
While not quite a huge fan of the games setting and enemy design I can appreciate it. It is creative and gives the enemies unique abilities that makes you think a little before releasing your arrow. The game feels much smoother with better arrow mechanics and better options for progression and progress. I highly recommend this game if you are looking for a bow and arrow based tower defense style game.
Pros:
Best bow and arrow physics I've found so far
Progression via lootable gear options that grant unique options for arrow and magic abilities
Unique bossfight/minigames that are fun, interesting, challenging, and rewarding
Drop in multiplayer co-op
Cons:
Slightly repetitive gameplay. While the maps do change its still in the same setting with the same familiar enemies and repetitive boss fights.
There aren't too many spells available to choose from via gear. Elven Assassin offers two spell trees to choose from with unlockable spells or cooldown reduction you can pick with spell points you earn by leveling up.
And thats about it for now. I will update as I play more but so far the game is very fun and promising!
