There is an interesting story in Purrfect date, it's just incredibly hard to find because 90% of the dialogue is a useless waste of time. I was so bored with the game that I kept nodding off.
To give a metaphorical example of how sneaky the actual interesting parts are, any task is kind of like this:
Guy wants me to go to grocery store for him. Describe shopping in grocery store. You run into Aunt Susan and she told you how her kid has been throwing up so she has to take him to the doctor. As you're leaving, you note how wonderful the display of Lucky Charms looks.

My reaction: Okay, wtf did that have to do with anything?
Then the next one is going to the store again. Describe doing the shopping again, but the character notices the guy who gave you the list wrote it on some old notes, and you can just make out some cryptic stuff in between "milk" and "fungus cream." Gonna have to look into that later.

My reaction: Okay, that was mostly boring stuff, glad I didn't skip all of it or I would have missed that cryptic bit.
So some segments are completely useless, and some have hidden important parts underneath all the useless, and some of those hidden parts cleverly connect to other parts that either lead nowhere or to more cryptic things.
As someone who prefers just getting right to the story with no filler bs, this isn't for me.
There are 6 chapters but I only read through all of chapter 1 and maybe 1/4 of chapter 2 before I decided there's nothing worth reading anymore and just skipped through the rest.
Each chapter is probably over an hour of reading. Considering I played for 2.9 hours, and about 1.5 hours offline, it probably took me close to 2 hours to read the first chapter, so if you read everything you're looking at a pretty lengthy novel. I mean, it took me like 1.5 hours just to skip through 2/3 of the game.
The main game is choosing recon, research or romance. Recon is mostly world building, but its not really something most would care about in this type of story. (could just be that I don't, of course)
Research just talks about sick cats, and sometimes story.
Romance is the worst. It's just looking at stars or rocks with cats. These are by far the longest reading segments, and the most boring. It sometimes takes several minutes to skip through one segment, so I can't imagine how long it would take to read.
After choosing to do 3 activities, you've got to rest. This is just another time waster. Early on, it wastes your life by the character having some weird cat-related dream, but then it mostly just goes, you slept and feel reenergized!
Oh really? Is that how sleeping works? I always wondered...Stop wasting my time! In short, it adds nothing relevant to the game.
So as I skipped through most of the game, I can't really say for sure if the story's any good, but from the glimpses I've caught of text, its a real let down.
And its repetitive.
And the dating sim part is poor and feels meaningless.
The music is fantastic
Crazy that this game doesn't have much love, I had a great time playing it with my partner. I enjoyed the weirdness and hunting for the various endings, the dialogue and character design are good, and it doesn't overstay its welcome in my opinion. Worth a buy if you like dating sim style games, or cats, or both. It is definitely worth 10 bucks.
I do enjoy it, with some caveats.
I spend my time thinking "THIS IS NOT HOW RESEARCH WORKS" especially when the professor is all "our job isn't to ask questions". Your character should be able to call in the ethics board or the police as an option!
And on a purely gameplay aspect, having to replay the whole thing if you want to correct something you did in chapter 4/5 is a complete waste of time. It should be possible to start from any chapter in the playthrough you completed to see other endings!
Updated after 2nd playthrough: there's many different ways to go and apparently you can't win the game unless you have exhausted absolutely all options. Which would require a few more playthroughs at this time, which with no skip option is absolutely out of the question. This changed my recommendation from yes to no...
I liked this game a lot... mostly. I would say that the title is a bit misleading, as it's not as light-hearted and dating-sim-y as the title suggests. It definitely is on the dark sinister and investigation/visual novel side of things. A title that reflected that better would better prepare players, versus pulling the rug out from under folks looking for a straight-up light comedy. (content warning: notable harm to animals)
I really liked the use of multiple player characters over time in each full run. I also loved the "meow" songs -- fun music in the game!
This game would massively benefit from a "skip dialog" feature. You are very likely going to need/want to play multiple runs, and by the 4th run hitting next over and over and over again for hours gets tedious.
The ending didn't quite stick the landing for me, but overall it was still a fun game.

Unique dating sim game.
Cool visual novel style with british/dark humor and a pinch of bizarre.
The lines are well written and fitting the cats.
So I thought it is some weird furry game, but no, it is not furry, oh thank god...but it is weird, it is very weird, but fun weird.
The Purrfect Date is indeed, the perfect game for any and all cat-lovers out there. You get to choose who to romance with, and with different cat breeds too. Date one, or all of them - there's many different endings to choose from based on you choices.
The art and text are simple, and 2D in depth, but neatly drawn and the font is clear and readable. The characters themselves looks doodled, and in rough shape, but the backgrounds and environments can be very scenic and detailed. The beach at night and cat temple BGs for example. Besides the interactive content, there's also a few mini games you play too, depending on who you interact with. Music and audio is fitting, and there are options to adjust the visuals and sounds if need be.
As an Indie game, the Purrfect Date does the job at being a simple, straightforward dating sim without being too over-complicated. And I like simple games, so I'd recommend trying it.

I have more hours on this game than the deserves and I still don't have the last achievement, which is seeing absolutely everything. This would be okay if there was a skip function, but I have instead had to spam the space bar while multitasking to get to the options and hope that I find the missing couple of pages. My first playthrough or two was fine, but its so annoying that the last achievement takes so much time to get. If you don't care about 100%, its an okay game, the story isn't great by any means, no dialogue tree, just some scattered choices that (mostly) don't have much impact overall. The recon and research is all scattered so it doesn't feel like a linear story, the art is okay but I would have preferred if the full detailed pictures of the characters had the expressions instead of the smaller avatar images off to the side; its just not as visually interesting.
The cats aren't all that interesting either, they have fairly stereotypical personalities and there's not enough story to flesh them out (plus collectively they are actively harming the player characters by infecting them with a cat curse, great starting point for a love connection)
So over all, it gets boring and repetitive very quickly and the lack of skip function makes replaying to get achievements frustrating. The game isn't really worth the time.
Boring visual novel, the only quirk is that instead of anime girls you have anime cats.

The game itself is okay, but nothing to write home about. The achivements are buggy, and with a low-replay value it's not worth going for them.

This is not a great game, but I still liked it. Interesting setting with cute characters. Dating is not the biggest part of the game, it's the mystery surrounding the activities on the island. Yet, it doesn't feel like there's much freedom and choosing which activity to do seems pointless. It seems short and just makes me wish there was more depth. The 'dates' with each cat are very short. Not much time to really get to know them before they are suddenly in love with you. Not a bad experience for the first playthrough, at least. It's highly unlikely that you'll get the 'best' ending on one playthough, mess up once and you're out of luck. Still, you are encouraged to make every possible choice to raise your completion percentage and for achievements. Replaying is a big pain due to lack of features that you'd find in other visual novels. I really don't want to mash my spacebar anymore.
No controller support, 1 save file with autosave, no chapter select, no skip feature,text moves too slow, no minigames.
Overall, this is a decent visual novel with a lot of unrealized potential. This could have been better & done in a better way. The developer had said that they'd make updates, yet the game has been abandoned.
Good balance of fun, light-hearted elements and darker, more mysterious storytelling. Characters were generally very likeable and the art was pretty good, especially some of the backgrounds. Really needs a proper skip function though; I ended up using AutoHotkey to mash my space bar to get through repeat playthroughs.

Мало того, что при старте показывает настройки Unity, так ещё в самой игре максимум 50 кадров. Хотя чему там тормозить непонятно - вся игра двумерная рисованная. Притом рисованная довольно криво, как будто у автора игры линейки не было. Персонажи тоже нарисованы довольно топорно. Так что даже при взгляде на визуальную составляющую уже и дальше играть не хотелось.
A frustrating to play visual novel.
Sometimes text boxes don't move forward at the same speed, or jump ahead. There are messages that pop up on screen that I don't have the chance to read because I clicked twice earlier and it's loading those clicks.
No skip function.
A lot of repetition.
I mean, I guess it's fine if you want to play a game where you date cats, but I didn't find the characters or the overall story particularly compelling. Maybe I'm just spoiled by Hatoful Boyfriend.
The inability to skip, select specific segments, or even player saves (there's an auto-save but that's different) force replays and tedium. And supposedly require seeing every bit of text for completionist stuff. Just give this a pass and read a book or watch a movie.
Not sure what the point of naming the Player characters is.
I mean the trailer is great, humor on point, etc. I expected full audio as "full audio" is listed under the product.
Actually there is nothing of it. Just text after text and it was not funny and did not grab my attention. It was just weird. No singing, no talking. Too bad.

I started this game in 2019. I came back to it in 2024 and finished it completely.
Why is that? The game rarely popped up in my mind during those years of a break. It was an original concept. I was curious about the true ending (it turned out to be a bit of a stretch). I enjoyed the game, nevertheless. The art is not extremely polished, but it is creative and original.
The major con is lack of a skip function for previously seen text, but there is a workaround by using an auto clicker.

I could leave my review there and be done with it, and honestly it would be enough to recommend this game, but I feel like I need to explain myself somewhat, since this game is a tad bit weird in it's ... theme. When you first see the game you must be thinking to yourself, "Dating cats?! What the heck is this trash!", but I must say that the game really sells you the story so well that it will eventually make sense why you are dating cats.
Obviously the game is all fun and, well, games, and doesn't really seriously recommend anyone to try bestiality. The game itself is a big cat pun and has a lot of fun dialogue and interesting art. Purrfect Date blends mystery, intrigue and wickedly black humor, to create the ultimate crossbreed between visual novel and dating simulator!
It's a cat dating sim that is painfully self-aware of it's existence, and delivers sarcastic humor that makes it hilarious and totally endearing. You will play the role of 6 research assistants who have been shipped off to a secret remote location called "Cat Island". As dark secrets and events unfold, you will suddenly find yourself able to communicate with the island's feline inhabitants. And being the feline lover that you are with such well-spoken cats, the next logical choice aside your continued study of the island, is a little kitty romance.
The game is definitely worth it for the price that it sells at, but 100% the game was a pain. There is no skip dialogue buttons or anything similar that would make your journey to 100% completion easier after your first playthrough. I figured a good way to use an autoclicker to click through the dialogue faster, but it was still a slog to go through when you had to read the same dialogue a few times.
Nevertheless, it's a game that I really enjoyed and I do think it's a worth it experience for any cat lovers and visual novel enjoyers alike!

This game should have warnings similar to Doki Doki Literature club. It presents itself as a goofy dating sim. It hints at "dark British humor" and a mystery. I'm not finding the humor, it's just dark with [spoiler] realistic descriptions of animal testing. [/spoiler].
So why does my account show 8 hours? I took lots of breaks with it running, and I had to play through it twice to get an epilogue that actually explained what the hell is going on. Why twice? Because I misclicked one time on the first playthrough when I was supposed to "rest". The consequence for doing that is that you [spoiler] get killed immediately [/spoiler].
Sitting through the game twice wasn't worth it, especially because there's no skip dialogue button, and the "perfect ending" epilogue is basically a 45 minute slide show. So here's the big mystery so you don't have to play or finish the game : [spoiler] A makeup company is running an illicit lab on a magical island because reasons. They use cats for animal testing. Plot forces you to participate in and witness things like kitten murder and vivisection. At the end, no one goes to jail, everyone just shrugs off the atrocities, and all live happily ever after, to varying degrees based on your dating choices. [/spoiler]

This game is absolutely wonderful. It's quirky, has a wonderful story, and it has cats (number 1 perk). A few downsides though is there are no manual saves, and you can't restart a chapter if you mess up on an answer, which does make it frustrating at times. Otherwise though, it is a magical journey that I 100% recommend.

Beware of few some big flaws - it might ruin your game
- there is no skip button. I could easily spend way less time but after very nice, slow first playthrough I learned I have to read through everything AGAIN. You can only click to skip dialogue.
- no save option either - it autosaves after certain things, which at least makes you able to go back if you choose wrong option
- some options doesn't make any difference in story
Would I buy it again knowing everything? Probably not. It was fun but at the end it got really annoying. If you don't care about getting all endings or achievements and like some chill playthroughts you might enjoy this game :)

Almost any game that involves cats is something I'd try out. The game has more than just dating cats- which I'm sure turns a lot of people off from trying it, I get it. Nothing "adult" occurs if that helps ease your mind at all.
But the story gets dark and you have to solve something mysterious so it is worthwhile trying this VN.
Achievement Hunters: You DO have to successfully date the cats to get 100% completion and especially ACHIEVEMENT HUNTERS BEWARE you will have to read every single line written by the devs to get 100% complete. AND there is no "Skip text function" so it gets finicky... Also it seems many people get stuck at missing 1 line of text (99.3% complete) including myself and ended up playing far far longer than I wanted to. Worst thing was: it was a line of text relating to a choice I already made earlier.

Super cute game, the relationship you develop with the cats is just pure seratonin. You can definitely see how much love was put into the game.
There's only a con: to me it was worth replaying so many times to get the 100% achievement (you have to see every possible scene in the game), but it would've been much faster and A LOT less tiring if they added a skip button.

(I think I would have been fine if you were a cat dating other cats... like cattails! But... you aren't. And I know technically it's not weird given the circumstances of the cats but... I feel uncomfortable.)
While I really wanted to enjoy this game, and quite honestly I spent a lot of time trying to get to the ending, it was really aggravating to me just how many play through you have to do to get 100%.
Whats also aggravating is if you aren't able to really recall the dialogue options you choose, as you need to select each different dialogue options at least once as every little thing will count towards that 100% marker.
I really enjoyed the game my first play through, I wanted to get to the end, save the kitties, etc, but by the time my fifth or sixth game around, I just grew more frustrated. I felt like this game would have been 10x better if they just made it easier to get to 100%. I shouldn't have to choose every little dialogue option.
In my opinion for this game to be great, besides adding in some voice acting, just make certain requirements to get the cure. Complete all X type of missions, have all cats accept you, have all cats reject you, and definitely make it a requirement to go through those side missions- but that's it. Don't make us do more than that. It ultimately just ruined the game for me as it felt more like a chore than a game. If you're not a completionist, you might enjoy it, but I think you'll feel like your lacking after the first or second go around and that is why ultimately I decided that I wouldn't recommend it personally.
I was gifted this game ages ago by a friend, so I really didn't look into reviews or the game summary before playing. Definitely not what I expected in a good way. If you're the type to play VNs with a guide please use one that's as spoiler free as possible.
I feel kinda neutral, but when I consider whether I'd recommend this to fans of dating sims and visual novels, I feel there's better games to be found.
I was lured in by the funny trailer song, and while I did have a fun time, certain aspects ruin the experience for me.
While I can kinda understand the decision to make each playthrough a separate file, it becomes tedious if you make an error in one of your runs and end up scuppering the whole playthrough. I suppose the lesson is to not ♥♥♥♥ around, or only do it during the first run when it's minimal time lost to erase the whole playthrough to start all over.
One mistake, and the ending is simply the cast listing all the reasons you might have gotten that ending.
The good ending? Well, I hope you have time to spare, as the game gives you the whole history of the island. There were hints of it here and there, and maybe the devs were trying to avoid distracting from the moment to moment fun of the date or I missed important hints, but I would have appreciated it if they'd found a way to make less of an info dump of the ending.
There are some variations within the good ending. For each couple at the end you can decide whether to stay on the island or leave and the epilogue scenes are overall quite nice...I just won't be convinced to go through the game a third time to see the other half of the variations. XD
That was nicer than I expected it to be. The overall story is really nice and Ifound the way we discover it - glimpse after glimpse - quite engaging.
What I did regret is that, for a VN about dating as the name implies, you spend actually very little time with each character, thus making it harder to grow attached to them beyond or despite their quite caricatural characters.
Out of the 6 cats, I found two of them really interesting and engaging, three ok but more like "let's be palls" ok, and the last one was more of a pain.
Couldn't find all the secrets, would have liked to but have no idea how to do that and I'm too lazy to look up a guide and do it again.
Uh why am I dating cats?
I played this a little while ago so I don't remember everything, but I do remember that this game is something I don't want to touch again.
The story idea itself was fairly interesting. It got a lot darker at points than I expected based on the information on the store page, which is something I enjoy – though it may be too much for other people. The game was also weird enough that the first playthrough was kind of fun, so I could initially look past its flaws.
However, I enjoy achievement hunting and the lack of a skip function meant that I very quickly began to hate this game. The game simply wasn't engaging enough for repeatedly playing through it to be enjoyable in the first place, so the lack of a skip function made me want to give up on multiple occasions.
Some might enjoy this game despite that issue, but I simply couldn't after all of that.
I don't know how my life came to this, but here we are.

This is a good game and an interesting story, but if you go in expecting a silly romp playfully 'dating' cats, you might be disappointed. It gets very dark, very emotional, and to see the whole story you have to do everything right. There doesn't seem to be a 'skip' button for the dialogue, so maybe use a guide and make sure you do as much right your first time through as possible.
Overall enjoyed my time with it.
This game felt like it was made to troll cat lovers. The store page promises silly, wacky kitty fun! The reality: obscene amounts of [spoiler] animal cruelty. [/spoiler] Aw, this poor little kitty needs medicated dressings applied to help her with her extremely painful skin issue...[spoiler] it's not medicine. You're testing cosmetics on her, and you only find out later, after you've (probably) already unwittingly hurt her and contributed to her suffering quite a lot. [/spoiler] Add in some lack of very basic QOL issues...it's a no for me on this one.
A very different and fun take on the dating sim genre. The art, music, and story are all charming, and the variety of dateable cats (what a string of words!) was a breath of fresh air in a genre that's painfully homogeneous at times.
I'd love to see a sequel (or any other dating sim) from the creators.
Purrfect Date does have some interesting ideas, and some cool moments, but also a lot of junk.
The "Island Mystery" story was dark, unexpected and cool. I enjoyed the "Pirate" chapter as well.
Sadly it was bogged down by the weird cat-dating, the useless "rest" function and some very uninteresting chapters.
The main feature of the game feels like filler content.
Some of the writing was pretty cringe and boring.
The store page mentions "More words than Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban", but sometimes less is more.
There are some structural issues as well, sometimes my character would reference some chapters I had yet to play.
The game wants you to find a "good ending" but you'd have to be a true masochist to attempt that.
Purrfect Date comes with no save feature, no chapter select, no fast forward of any kind.
To me, the game is 5.5/10.
Got this game from a friend who had it from a bundle, he didn't wanna play it so I decided to take the risk and actually put effort into the game, seeing as free is free. Boy, I wish I could get the hour back.
This game isn't even worth it if it's free. There's no way to skip dialogue, some of the characters are decent but most are lackluster at best, almost every conversation feels sluggish and like I'm having to work my ass off to get any progress out of it.

Like, some of the comments with the first individual I picked was bordering outright sexual in nature, which is SUPER weird even in a dating game, but doubles in weirdness considering you're a human for over 90% of each story. So, it's a cat making sexual comments towards a human, which is somehow worse then being towards another cat.
I finished one of the stories with said aforementioned cat, then attempted to get through the next. Seeing as I was curious what the true ending was and I try to get the most out of free games, seeing as they're a rarity to come across, but that's when I found out I had to spend over 30 minutes going through the intro dialogue again and being treated like I've never played the game at all.
Genuinely, unless you want a slog of dialogue, I'd suggest not buying it. Only if you get it for free, it's even slightly worth the trouble.

The beginning did take a while, and it takes quite a bit to complete the game, but it's so worth it! It's so much more than what most people think of it as, and the story is so compelling! I don't want to give any hints. SO good! Completely recommend.
I got this game in a bundle with some of Bossa's other games, so I figured why not finally try this game out, "It can't be that hard" I thought.
Oh boy was I wrong.
One of the worst things you can do when making a visual novel is neglecting to add a "skip dialogue" feature, especially when during the first 4 chapters you have to read the same dialogue over and over again. Even more especially when one of your achievements requires you to see every line of dialogue you can in the game. There is one guide for this whole game because literally less than half the people that own this game have gotten through the introduction, and all of the comments on the guide are about how they (like me) are stuck at 99.3% or 98.6% but they don't know what they're stuck on because there is no way of tracking. It wasn't curiosity that killed the cat, it was poor game design.

I am sorry for the Bae Team but this game is very boring, and that is why I sadly do not recommend it. First, it is a dating simulator between humans and cats, which I personally find very weird. Second, there is no skip function, which is a very basic feature in a visual novel. I had to download a clicker software to make my own skip function. Third, the achievement to discover 100% of the tale is such a frustrating thing to do in a visual novel. I had to repeat the game more than 20 times to be able to do it.

What a great game! At first I thought this would be a simple cat dating sim, but the story goes so much deeper than that. It's funny, it's heartwarming, it's heartbreaking, and most of all it's just plain enjoyable. The Warrior Cats reference really caught me off guard! Even moreso than the face it's a detective game disguised as a dating sim!
And most of all, your characters get to live out your wildest dreams... getting to live as cats without a care in the world.

I do not like this game. Perhaps if I didn't have to beat it 10000x to get the true ending I would. The amount of times you have to sit through an intro is absolutely disgusting. There's no quality of life updates such as fast forwarding or skipping the horrendously long intro (except the somewhat skip in chapter 5 and 6). The rest option is absolutely useless and should have just been scrapped. Objectively though the game has 19% of players beating chapter one and 12% beating chapter 6 so I guess no one else liked this game either.
1/10 would not like to get shot in the head again.
The two things worth checking out from this game would have to be the music and the mystery of the main plot.
If you want to experience the best ending, you have to accept the fact that the game thinks you forgot the story on every new play-through. The usual UI you would expect from a visual novel is missing (No skip function, no save files, etc.), so you will suffer once you start playing more than once.
P.S. the description of “black humor” in the game’s summary is a false claim. The dark topics are expressed in a serious tone, not a comedic one. Be aware of this.
Subjectively boring. The story is padded too much even for a dating sim with a superficial story on top. Everything below is just the cherry on top; they would be bearable if the story is at least interesting.
The heart mechanic is useless. Each "day" you can do at most 3 activities: romance, research and recon before you need to rest let you be exhausted and kicked home, but there are no consequence for letting the days go by so you don't need to carefully choose which activities to prioritize. Each round will only finished after you have done 3 research missions, so naturally you will end up doing all romance and recon missions first before doing research. Only reason to do research first is to rush the story for subsequent playthroughs.
The missions range from okay to terrible. Romance missions are okay if you like cats, but the way the relationship build up is too fast; the characters shouldn't get all lovely-lovely to cats mere days after getting catify. At least wait until they are half way turned, geez. Recons are the best since you get to explore the people and the island, and they are adequately mysterious. Problem is too many mysteries piling up with no resolution in sight would overwhelm me and I got bored. Researches are terrible; there are no actual research there, just nonsensical whizo and Youtube "science" that aren't related to the disease at all. The cure's meter goes up anyway for all 3 type of missions while no actual explanation is given, another useless feature.
Continuity is not a thing here. Characters won't reference things they or the others should have known already in other scenes. Successful dates in place won't prevent characters from suggestive flirting with other characters. Character development will be reverted after a new round is started.
If they have structured this game as a visual novel instead it would have been way better.

I have to warn people who think they are getting a cute cartoon game that will be light and funny. The storyline gets quite dark with themes of animal experimentation and cruelty. Clearly a lot of work went into this but it feels like a jarring mix of cute with depressing. If you're ok with dark themes you might enjoy it, but if you don't want to think about cats getting hurt stay away.
The technical aspects of this game are exceptionally well-crafted, which kept me engaged until the very end. The art is stunning, seamlessly transitioning between scenes, and the unique music, while initially off-putting, grows on you and becomes enjoyable.
While the game is categorized as a dating sim, I must say that this aspect is the least captivating. It's not because I have any issues with dating cats, but rather because their stories felt lackluster and didn't quite blend seamlessly into the overall narrative. Some conversations felt like fillers, and at times, I found myself skimming through them without missing any crucial details. Personally, I was highly invested in the investigative aspects of the game, but the romance element, which was necessary to uncover important clues, felt utterly dull.
My main concern is the game's encouragement to replay it in order to experience the entire story (excluding the dating part), yet I struggled to motivate myself to do so, despite my desire to unravel the mystery and witness the proper ending. It would have greatly improved the experience if integrated checkpoints or more flexible save options were available. In my opinion, these features are essential for any visual novel, and their absence is the primary reason why I hesitate to recommend this particular game.
By the way, it's worth mentioning that the claimed 30 hours of gameplay may be slightly exaggerated, as I found myself idling in the game for extended periods.

• Does this game sounds crazy? Yes, but Hatoful Boyfriend was much more crazy and non-sensical. Comparing to pigeon boys Purrfect Date is more tamed and had more logic in it's story.
• Does this game have an interesting plot? Surprisingly yes! I went blind into it, but then really wanted to know the ending.
• Does this game have dark humor? As other reviewers told, comedy is separated from quite dark story points, so don't expects any morbid humor. Is the comedy good though? I didn't laughed, but it was cute.
• Are the romances good? Good enough. Nothing too deep, you have 5 scenes for every of 6 cats and only final scenes are romantic. Personally enjoyed McMurphy plot the most :). Snooty Booty, one of the first romancable characters to choose from, was really boring compared to other characters. All of them had so much to do with the plot, so she felt a bit out of place.
I thought I would play this game for a couple of hours, but, again, it is surprisingly captivating and pleasant. And it's cute :3

First of all, the game is not optimised properly. At the biggest resolution it lags horribly.
Second, I don't get why, it got such nice backgrounds, but absolutely unpleasant sprite art? It isn't even artist style, they are just discomforting.
Also, the cat names should be funny? They are not.
Cons: it is clear that the game is put a lot of work in. But I just can't play due to poor optimisation and boring characters. I do not recommend it :(
Got this in a Humble Choice. Perhaps I'm no longer someone who enjoys visual novels, but honestly I felt the characters, story and attempts at humour just not quite enough to keep me hooked on a slow moving story. There is a promise of great mysteries, but the first 30min has been largely lore exposition and not much game play/choices in sight. Its' attempt at being funny feels quite niche, which is reflected in the purposefully "bad" art work passing off as "a style".
Anyways, if you are reading this to look for a reason why it's good and bad, let me teach you a technique. Look at the achievement list, and see the where the first achievement. This is typically the easiest achievement and marks progress past most games' tutorial. Most games then have the next section as an achievement or if not available then in some cases a completion achievement. This should give you an indication of how many people have stuck with a game.
So here is an example: At the time of writing "New Job! Successfully complete the induction" is at 46.2%. This will always be the case, as many people buy a game without ever playing it. So rather than infer that 46.2% of players couldn't make it past the first achievement (which btw activated 20+ LONG minutes in for me), this is our baseline. The next achievement is Chapter 1 - Complete Chapter 1 which 29% of players passed. So for the 46.2% of players who passed the induction; 17% of players dropped off. As we go down through the list of achievements, you can infer that there are 6 chapters, but only 12% of players have achieved this. So another 17% of players could make it through Chapter 1, but couldn't bring themselves to finishing a game. Now if this were a new game, this stat might not work. Consider that this is a fairly linear experience, it's not a difficulty gauge to achieve this.
TLDR; lost interest. Story and dialogue not interesting enough to get me to finish the 1st Chapter.

Good: Kittehs! Story! Replayability. Nice music, cute sounds (meows when you click on an option too.)
Bad: no fastforward / skip scenes button for the replayability option. No easy "go back to an earlier chapter option" to retry, gotta start the game over from scratch.

Received this game as a gift and had never played a dating sim before, but I love visual novels and used to be into choose your own adventure books. The person who gave this to me kind of gave it to me for giggles because I really like cats and it was supposed to be "a cute cat game", but they didn't really know anything about it. So I played through the first part and was just like wtf why is this getting so dark? I really didn't know what I was getting into, and there were definitely parts of the game that made me sad or angry (don't want to give spoilers, but I am a big animal lover and some stuff just pisses me off) but I also feel like there was a solid story. The way the story presents itself is kind of weird (lots of follow up, not a lot of exposition) so I think it felt kind of off. Like a lot of other people have mentioned, I wish that you could skip dialogue. To go through a whole play through, you play as 6 different characters, which is fine the first time but if you want to get all of the achievements, you have to play through the game several times and it would be nice to skim through dialogue that you've already read.
I couldn't wait to sink my paws into this game. At first i thought they were just kitten around but it turned out to be a pretty purrfect game. The storytail had twists and turns that left me in hiss-terics. I originally thought this was fur-miliar to another game I had played but ended up being unique and nowhere near the cat-astrophe that other people let on.
Im feline sad that there aren't more hours in the day that I can play this game in.
I would literally climb meowntains to play this game.

Edit: This is NOT a good game for my fellow achievement hunters and completionists. I still enjoyed it myself for the story but after the first couple of replays to try everthing I wanted to, so began the tedious task of trying to earn every achievement and get that extremely difficult to obtain 100%... This game basically locks you out of 100% achievement completion because there is an achievement for having seen 100% of the dialogue. And there is... A LOT of dialogue. And a lot of routes and options to choose from and subsequently revisit. In other words, grinding and trying to skip through all the dialogue you've seen before only to get confused in the labyrinth of text and choices makes this so much harder than it needs to be. There is no way to skip text so you just end up spamming the buttons to continue to the next line over and over. Good way to kill a keyboard.
TL:DR I DO NOT recommend this game for completionists or achievement hunters. It is tedious and there is no option to easily skip huge clumps of dialogue. Every restarted play-through (required for 100%) is as if you started the game all over again, meaning you have to skip everything allllll over again.
A very good little visual novel and mystery. It requires more than one playthrough with more than one character to get the full story, but the game does a good job of gradually grinding down the excess and repetitive dialogue so if you aren't keen on repeating things, it's made a lot easier.
I do have a warning for the faint of heart though. It gets... DARK and it is not for everyone... If you're not afraid of spoilers, read further. Otherwise, don't complain about being spoiled if you read the below text.

Disclaimer: I got this game in a bundle from humble bundle, and I would not have bought it otherwise. Compared to similar style games, this was not as entertaining. While the game is fun for the first few reads, the repetition gets boring really fast and trying to get through even one play-through takes forever.
