[i]I might be (not counting the ones who played the game before the "map update") one of the few persons who didn't notice that the map was supposed to be an item/ability to be found, and not something you gain after progressing through the game automatically. Why? well there was a text located in the menu ("memory hazy..." it says), that made me misunderstand the whole thing. Due to that, I've played 4 hours[spoiler]and found 3 mayor keys[/spoiler] without having a map at all, without any clue where to go after running out of new places to explore, and, of course, with me not being able to find a certain ability required to progress even further[spoiler] (ahem, damn you dark orbs, ahem)[/spoiler].

Gladly, I swallowed my pride and decided to look a little bit more about how to progress, then I find that, in fact, I'd missed the map skill located in a certain room[spoiler]of the castle[/spoiler], room that sadly, was one of the few rooms I didn't explore, or maybe the only room I didn't explore, if we ignore the rooms who were inexplorable due to lacking certain abilities.

Thankfully, after finding the map, the lasting hours were quite easier to play[spoiler]and the keys easier to find without looping around like an idiot,[/spoiler]taking into account that now Sybil was able to remember locations better than me, yay![/i]

[b]Now, let's talk more about the game[/b], and not about my lack of topographical orientation:

[u][b]Pros:[/b][/u]
-Soundtrack: Such an unique and charming soundtrack, every stage with their own dedicated song, I really loved the vibes they gave me. Congrats to the composers, y'all did a great job.
-Graphics: They nail the N64 style (some might say PS1 but I think this game reminds me more of TLOZ instead)
-Gameplay and mechanics in general: Sybil feels great to control, sometimes I pushed this character to go into zones I thought they were impossible to get, however after unlocking a lot of abilities, they kinda feel overwhelming and make you trigger them on accident a lot more. I would love to see a way to manually toggle them without having them permanently enabled all the time [spoiler](particularly the one who makes you throw distant attacks, that one made me waste some "energy", also the double jump kick was kinda annoying at times because I would accidentally activate it purely out of nervousness)[/spoiler]
-Performance: It runs great, no stutters, no framerate drops, almost "too great to be true", taking into account it's an UE 5.1 game. I've enjoyed playing at 120fps without any issues, you can make the animation look choppy by enabling Retro Animation Framerate toggle, or look smooth by disabling it, but I think it kinda ruins the art direction a bit. You can also disable the Retro Resolution Scale and make this game look sharper, and I recommend you to do this unless you love playing games at a low resolution. Also, I have no idea how well (or bad) it runs on potato PCs (setups with specs worse than the minimum ones) but this game doesn't look demanding at all.

[u][b]Cons:[/b][/u]
-Lack of enemies: There are a few of them, and they aren't exclusive at all, [spoiler]besides the two bosses of course[/spoiler]. I would've loved a little bit more of variety, but I guess this is kinda expected, taking into account its price.
-The map: I know that this game barely guides you because its "retro inspired", and I lack space awareness too, but like [spoiler]in the tower, where the game explains to the player where are the 5 mayor keys located[/spoiler] it wouldn't hurt to add a similar clue that led you to find this item easier.
-Short: Even if we take my anecdote into account, I was able to finish the game in only 6 hours (even less if we look at the savefile counter) but again, even if I've loved if this game was longer, "it's kinda expected, taking into account its price".

In conclusion, this is a short, but fun game that you can buy now at a pretty cheap price so, if you love metroidvanias, then you should give it a chance, I truly recommend it, 100%.

PS: It has a biiiig, biiig potential for a sequel, but taking into account recent events, that might be complicated.

This is one of *those* games. A game that's worth playing it just because what it acomplishes cannot be easily found in others. This one, to me, it has an incredible 3D platforming system, and the game is designed to make it shine. Music is also great.

Leave it to the indie's to make a great game!
One of the tightest 3D platformers I've ever played in my life. On par with Mario 64 or Mario Sunshine with how precise and snappy the controls are, while not having the same jank as those games. If you're more into 3D platformers that lean more towards the movement spectrum (Mario 64-like) rather than collect-a-ton (Banjoo-Kazooie-like,) then this is a game for you.
At the time of writing this review, I nearly 100%-ed the game (the only things I haven't done so far is complete two Time Trial challenges.)

Gameplay:
I loved this games movement soooo much man. Tight and snappy, while (almost) never having the same jank as older 3D platformers where your character could just spaz out when the physics engine breaks. My only problem with the game (or rather my own personal gripe with the genre) is that the game's world is structured in a Metroidvania style and I don't really like Metroidvania's. I got stuck once and had to spend an hour trying to find where to go, but thankfully the game is rather short and small (but highly replayable) so it's not a big problem.

Music:
It's so nice to have an N64-looking game that doesn't use the same ol' same ol' N64 soundfonts. Don't get me wrong, the N64 soundfonts and music are good, but when you've played as much Mario 64 rom hacks (or N64 games in-general,) it gets INCREDIBLY tiring to hear the same instruments and samples. And the music itself is really good. From atmospheric tracks of the Dilapidated Dungeon to the smooth and jazzy sounds of the Twilight Theatre, this OST has been stuck in my head since I've played the game.

Graphics and art style:
Waiter, waiter! Please more low-poly, highly stylized games instead of the same realistic UE5 slop (ironically enough, this game is made in UE5.) The art style looks straight out of the N64, with textures being soft, highly anti-aliased and blurry. With that N64 fog and the huge empty locations, it really gives off... sigh. Liminal space vibes.

Optimization:
God-like. It runs smooth as butter. I guess that's to be expected from a game that looks like it was made during the 1990's, but you'd be surprised how some games that look like this can be incredibly unoptimized. My only problems with the optimization and the technical aspects of this game is

The game crashed a LOT on my AMD GPU, but I think that's mostly because AMD drivers are a complete dumpster fire. And

The game is locked to 144 FPS :(

I Just randomly found this game in my related games and I can say is, This is a very fun and very good game both in gameplay and in Design . The Movement and items you get makes the platforming feels Lovely, the Progreson is open to who playes it, and the way the game has that nistolgic feeling when it new.

I suck at platformers but managed to get through it in about ~10 hours. Also the N64 aesthetic is amazing, i love it.

(ignore the playtime counter, played mostly on Steamdeck while offline, runs amazingly on like 5 watt TDP as well. The Scaling is a little funky tho, not a dealbreaker)

Great platformer! It seems overwhelming at first; but slowly becomes a real good time as you understand the layout of the maps and how to use your abilities properly. This game doesn't hold your hand; and just allows you to explore each area freely with whatever skills you have at the moment. There is maybe one instance where a hint is given on where you should progress; otherwise, it is open for you to figure out. Great physics and a good environment overall. Some of the later game challenges and speed challenges are PROPERLY challenging. Worthy of conquering if you are up to the challenge.

The story of the game is very ambiguous. Definitely on purpose, but also naturally on accident too. From start to finish; I am not entirely sure what I was meant to be doing story-wise, or where I was going and why. I know I lost my memory and was in a kingdom, and someone is an antagonist for some reason and... idk why? It's a real blur; the focus to this game is certainly the mechanics and the few hours of great fun you can have.

The combat is simple but fun; exploring the environment feels like Prince of Persia but greased up for extra speed, and an upgrade system familiar with old Metroid games. Not too bad overall.

Disregard my playtime by a solid 5-8 hours; I fell asleep one night as the game stayed on, heh

one of the best platformers ive ever played gameplay and mechanics wise. it has a very vast open world style to it that lets you go through all the trials and obstacles in whatever order giving it a ton of speedrun potential which i think is awesome. theres also so many different abilities to unlock throughout all the different areas, with most of them being pretty easy to grasp at first sight only for you to then have bugs/loopholes that enhance movement even further with enough timing practice. the soundtrack is incredible as well, every song really compliments the areas design and vibe.

that being said i do have some grievances with this game and that being that there isnt much to offer combat wise and the boss fights tend to get pretty repititive after a while. additionally i found some of the maps to be incredibly confusing (the underbelly cough) when looking for items, abilities, etc. and maybe some kind of tips from the game or an overarching story mightve helped make the initial exploring more consistently enjoyable.

though i think the game has some holes here and there it was an amazing game overall and has great replayability despite its flaws, this game is like a speedrunners dream lol. this is also aparently a solo project which i find it to make this game even more impressive than it already is (because of this i also think the developer should be cut some slack tbh). But yeah highly reccommend super excited to see what they do next!!

A movimentação funciona muito bem e não chega a ser cansativa, muitas vezes permitindo que você use soluções inesperadas em alguns desafios. Os gráficos estilo PS1 deixam a experiência ainda melhor e a Sybil é uma fofura, ainda mais quando você libera mais skins pra ela. Jogo perfeito pra quem curte metroidvania e estética retrô.

This was incredible. I could say a lot, but I'll try to keep it brief.
Light spoiler also, I'll point that out.

I had almost no problems with this game at all, and I would genuinely place it among my favorite games I've ever played for how much I enjoyed the brief time it took to play through most of it. This is first and foremost a movement-based platformer, which might sound scary to some, but it approaches everything very smartly. Every new ability feels like it opens up the game substantially, and your skill is bound to just grow as you go. The continual loop of "there's no way I'm supposed to do this" to "...maybe I can do it" to "holy frick I'm the best ever" that you will encounter SEVERAL times is unbelievably satisfying. The movement feels really good and smooth, so much fun to run around and (with plenty of backtracking and retracing your steps) try things in new ways.
My main issues are with the combat. It is not a deal breaker by any means, but this game is definitely not combat first and could honestly be entirely combat free and wouldn't lose much. Combat feels like an afterthought, going from clunky and repetitive at the early game to clunky and absurdly easy when you have a number of upgrades later on. I wish the combat encounters were more designed around the game's movement and platforming, but almost none of it is. Thankfully there's so little of it that it doesn't hamper the experience much, although (*spoiler*) the ending of the game is just a confusing boss fight with basically no use of any actual mechanics other than "hit the thing and don't get hit by the thing", which is disappointing.

But to sum it up, this game left me wanting more in a good way. I can see myself coming back and playing some again down the line just to get that satisfaction again. Definitely worth the small portion of your time it takes to beat this game. Even with my complaints, I wish I could find games that match the experience. 9/10 easily.

Im going to be super honest, there's a learning curve when using Sybil, but once you mastered it the movements feels so amazing! and each time you manage to do a hig jump or reach a hard place feels so rewarding, the entire game is really beutifully crafted, some rough spots yes, but the big sceneries look stunning, really teaking advantage of every corner on the map.
I really really wanna see more of Sybil, play as her again in a different realm world even tho the game hints at her real appearance being a mistery, totally recomended if you want a challenging movement/parkour focused plataformer that rewards exploration and celebrates creativity.

While I enjoyed my time with Pseudoregalia, the lack of direction took away lot of the enjoyment.

I am not an 3d platformer aficionado, I have mostly played 2d platformers, so my opinion might be biased on that regard. I'm sure that people who have more experience with 3d platformers enjoy this way more than I did and I feel, that this effect greatly the experience.

There is very little of explanation but, while simple, the story doesn't really need much. It's hard to tell anything without spoiling, but I guess the story can be summarised as: theres a princess, go meet her. Have fun!

There is much to like here: a fluid motion, tight controls and nice music (until you hear the same loop over and over again). Progression is only halted by moments of doubt, at least that happened for me. Sure, as a metroidvania, you're supposed to get powerup before continuing. But here, everything seems too barely out of reach, like, IF you play veeeeeery precicely you're able to make that ledge grab or jump. But no, it's impossible. To me, this is bad design: make the obstacles clear enough that player won't waste their time.
As the direction where to go, there is none. You're given a place to roam and that's it: to some, this might work, but personally I could have used for some guidance. Not necessarily an NPC that says ”GO HERE” but some clues/notes to guide where to go.

All n all: Pseudoregalia is a fine platformer, but has its flaws of guiding the player where to go. For more experienced 3d platformer players, this might be more enjoyable, but not as a first experience.

It's weird, at first upon finishing the game after the process of collecting everything I was capable of discovering myself. I found myself kind of... lacking, in closing impressions with this game, more so feeling a sense of confusion that I don't even know how to put into words. The game ends with not much of a bang for its final words, but it's also that you feel like it's not really the intent either. Pseudoregalia left me feeling strange; an alienating sensation this game's focal and later pondered subtly surreal aspects were providing me. Like the non-sensical layout of the world, coming across single-line dialogue NPCs constantly in the game which begs you asking the question of how they even explore this world. The game provides you no reality-grounded answers to the unexplainable and just tells you to have fun with it. It's a video game, it's a playground, it's a dream you're in.

What followed after settling away from my completion was just kind of having thoughts of Pseudoregalia in the back of my mind to sort of slowly unravel. What was once confusion started becoming fascination, and then nostalgia. Slowly, I found to really like in hindsight how unabashedly 'Video Gamey' it is to explore, it taps into a specific joy I find in, weird enough: TF2 Jump maps. The skill ceiling to mastering your supplied movement and tech, the ability to sometimes even carve your own methods which might even be faster if you know what you're doing, combined with a world that is quite tangentially made for the purpose of testing what your movement is capable of with planned geometry that can times become monolithic in scope. But this game really blends it too with an aesthetic I also got a massive heart for from my impressionable days, involving retro-3D areas of spacious environments that felt equal parts sprawling, blissful, and slightly imposing. To me it kind really does feel like exploring my own experiences with video game dreams I had in my early years.

and I just... man I don't know. I genuinely can see myself picking this game back up again especially given how short a normal run can be. Going through Psuedoregalia a 2nd time with a realized outlook and retained movement handling sounds promising.

Really fun platforming, good music, good art design, and challenging enough to feel rewarding to overcome. As someone who has never really played 3d platformers this game was easy to learn and rewarding to master and I felt like it kept evolving as I kept finding movement abilities. For a while I kinda felt like all the combat upgrades were kinda meaningless since the main focus is platforming but at the end they became relevant so it's all good. I really liked the costumes and the time trials needed to get them were probably my favorite part of the game since they really tested your planning, execution, and optimization skills especially the one to get the XIX costume, it took me like 30 minutes and by the end I felt like I had gone through all five stages of grief and ascended to become a angel of jumping. Overall a a very fun game with a very unique art style and I am very grateful for the 10 hours of fun.

the map could use some updates and some of the early movement tech takes some getting used to, but its clearly a low budget indie title probably made by one person and its still really good at what it does. if you miss playing old school gamecube platformers or have ever wondered what it would be like if you combined mario 64 with hollow knight, this is the game for you.

It's not perfect, but it is fun and it's easily worth the 6 dollar price tag

If you encounter platforming that feels REALLY hard, you're probably missing or forgetting about a powerup, even if the room is technically possible without it - in my opinion the only truly challenging sections in this game are the ones that are very obviously optional

I had a bug where my wall slide would either activate automatically or not at all while playing with keyboard and mouse. Fixed by unplugging my controller even though I wasn't using it

PS classy outfit is the best one :^)

Great level design with lots of huge, awe-inspiring environments and claustrophobic tunnels, fun powerups, silky smooth parkour platforming, and really satisfying challenges, it's short, sweet, tight, and so cheap it would still be worth double, never mind the bargain it reaches when on sale. If you like a 3D metroidvania, just get it, Lovely little game, two thumbs up.

Pseudoregalia é um jogo interessante.

Ele sabe exatamente oque quer fazer e não tenta ser mais doque isso. Ele é bem curtinho e é um metroidvania bem focado em plataforma e com uma estética mto agradável se vc curte a vibe PS1/Dream cast.

Com relação a dificuldade é acredito q seja bem justa, jogo bastante jogos de plataforma e foi uma experencia mto legal por que o jogo não pega na sua mas não é injusto, entrar em salas novas e ficar pensando "Como eu passo por aqui?" e ir descobrindo aos poucos é muito satisfatório, e a movimentação é maravilhosa chega um momento que vc se sente capaz de fazer coisa no jogo.

Ele é um ótimo jogo para vc jogar depois de passar mto tempo focado em qualquer outro jogo, excelente para dar uma espairecida.

Minha única critica é q o jogo não tem conquistas, acho q seria um algo a mais para quem gostou mto do jogo e queria um algo a mais.

Играл пол года назад на версии с рутрекера и задушился на моменте сбора ключей. Купив её в стиме прошёл практически залпом за пару дней на новом сейве. Очень приятный саундтрек, дизайн локаций и мувмент. Под конец игры ощущается как будто весь игровой мир это площадка для баннихопа и трюков.
Отдельно можно выделить испытания на время. Сначала пытался проходить по туториалам, но затем понял что легче собрать все чекпоинты не торопясь, а затем уже построить оптимальный маршрут для прохождения.

Если ненадолго отвлечься от лицезрения местных... пейзажей, можно заметить, что в этой игре больше платформинга чем во многих платформерах, и больше метроидвании чем во многих метроидваниях, и объединяется всё это в тех моментах, когда ты добираешься до некоторых мест не имея при себе нужных для этого способностей, у меня таких случаев было много, но самым показательным из них был тот, когда я добрался до рычаги чтобы узнать, что этот рычаг открывает шорткат, в который я должен был войти с другой стороны. Всё же есть в платформинге одна шероховатость, о которую я часто спотыкаюсь - это задержка пинка: часто такое бывает, что когда я делаю пинок чтобы долететь и схватиться за уступ, пинок держится настолько долго, что вместо того чтоб зацепиться, Сивил отскакивает от платформы. Но кроме этого небольшого недочёта, для меня в игре всё идеально, местную музыку я буду слушать годами, за местным платформингом я ещё вернусь на второе прохождение, местные виды (во всех смыслах) часто заставляют меня остановиться и оглядеться, так что это чудо я определённо рекомендую всем к прохождению.

Pseudoregalia really shocked me how amazing the game really is! First let's talk about the smoothness of controlling the character which is so satisfying and also the maneuvers you can pull in the game! Platformer aux graphismes n64 bien sympa, les musiques sont cools et le gameplay exigeant sans non plus être trop difficile. Faut s'habituer aux mouvements et le jeu nous indique pas les differents combos de saut donc faut tester soi-même. Je suis juste pas très fan du chara design du perso, en revanche j'ai trouvé les "pouets" de l'ennemi trompette trop pipous.
Le jeu est très court, en 6h je l'ai fini à 100% mais le prix est très correct. Ca m'a donné envie de rejouer à des romhacks de Mario 64

Very competently designed metroidvania from a solo developer. I have some small gripes with it, but overall it was a short but sweet game that I enjoyed from start to finish. There is a bit of jank with the platforming at times and it can be a little frustrating to get Sybil to move the way you want them to, but the freedom of movement does make up for it for me. If you enjoy retro style metroidvanias that don't give you directions and just ask you to "go", I can fully recommend Pseudoregalia as an inexpensive 5-8 hour experience.

Great platforming with an amazing soundtrack to match the vibe, I can see it being a frustrating game if you aren't someone who enjoys having to call back to other areas and remembering things in a game. Still very much doable as you can see where you haven't been yet and can simply wander around and learn the movement. On that note, the movement is very smooth and I have enjoyed learning it so far, when you do learn it allows you to get into more areas and discover more. Great game so far, id recommend.

I stopped playing for awhile because I was making no progress.
The words can not describe just how lost I am NOW after returning to the game.
On one hand we have style, awesome music, fluid movement that is a lot of fun and plenty interesting map.
On the other hand exploration is punishing. You never know if you can pass or not, if you are sequence breaking or not. And if you got somewhere you are now STUCK, because there is no fast travel.
It would be nice to have at least SOME direction. Also some parts of the interface are nice and high res and some are a jagged mess or is kinda broken like manu map screen. Also if I could just see myself on the map it would improve the game so much! And knowing which major keys I collected would also help.

I looked up maps online and that basically trivialized the game. turns out the ability I was missing was in a tiny slot in a random blocky house. In the end I had some fun. But I still think the game needs polish and updating.

Game was relatively short, but for a solo dev it was actually really expansive. I LOVED the game from start to finish (with a small dip in enjoyment when I couldn't find the last key and spent an hour all over the map looking). The platforming is really fluid and it really invites creativity. When you return to earlier areas you start seeing paths through the level you couldn't have taken before. Some walls that felt impossibly high the first time through an area become just barely scalable by the end. The combat could include more platforming than just "get close and smacka smacka" but it's not the main focus of the game so thats really fine. Overall an incredible game that I wish there was more of.

Pseudoregalia is really enjoyable to play. As you progress, you can see the many things that inspired the developer from other nostalgic content. First and foremost, the low-poly style and visual effect, allowing the game to look like it was made many years ago. I like that. If you like Celeste and 3D games, chances are, you will like this.

Clicked with me, I think it is designed expertly. Movement mechanics are precise and very satisfying, the design of levels, while expansive, is quite intuitive. The art style is cohesive and while it may seem simple, it sets the atmosphere of the game very well. Игра не большая, проходится часов за 8, если как я не тупить на поиске последнего ключа и испытаниях, которые не обязательны для прохождения, но зато за их выполнение ты получаешь наряд на Сибил. Кстати о ней:

Быстрая, мощная и довольна привлекательная мадама, за которую мы будем играть, улучшаться и ПаРкУрИтЬ. У неё классный дизайн, в меру милое, но сфокусированное лицо, стильная одежда и бронированные штаны(которые можно выключить в настройках для полного погружения). Орудует наша мамаша не менее классным Грёзобоем, (он же DreamBreaker в оригинале) - нормальная такая валына, которая и по репе даст и отхилить нашу героиню сможет.

Паркур тут прям сасный и хорошо связан с прогрессом, по ходу которого мы открываем новые абилки. Так как это метроидвания, то бегать тут будет где, ведь карта обширная как бёдра Сибил, а поэтому исследование тут поощряется. Тут и там можно будет найти испытания на время, сюжетно необходимые абилки, важные и второстепенные ключи на ряду с мини улучшениями, которые дают тот или иной мини-бонус.

Боёвка...Ну, тут спорно. Не, машет Сибил валыной нормально, просто боёвка тут довольно второстепенна. В игре два босса - в начале и в конце. Комнат с потасовками как в битэмапах тут нет. Враги просто находятся на локации, а вот бить их или нет - решать уже вам. Единственный толк от нахлобычивания врагов - это пополнение местной шкала маны, за счёт которой можно хилится.
Враги особых проблем не доставят. Единственные, от кого можно получить немалых люлей - это боссы и пара рядовых врагов. Конкретно с ними нужно быть аккуратней, ибо они могут выбить вашу дубину из рук, а без неё Сибил ни хилиться, ни отбиваться не сможет - а так как в игре нет блока и частично парирования, то приходится жоска слайдить, дабы увернуться. Да, странно делать финал игры с боссфайтом, если игра особо боёвкой не сияет, но справедливости ради, боссы - не сложные, а финальный так и вообще довольно веселый, если знать как отражать снаряды. Да ещё и с такой музыкой!

Музыка...
Одну только тему финального босса я готов слушать вечно, а у нас же ещё есть саунды для локаций, главное меню... Что в начальном подземелье, что у разбитых башен - вы будете окутаны этой прекрасной музыкой, которая идеально отражает локацию и даёт насладиться не только её красотой, но и вайбом. От пустого замка до простой библиотеки, от тёмного и мрачного подземелья до большого театра. А между этим обширный двор замка, путь по сломанному мосту и подъём на вершину той самой башни. Всё это время в ушах будет играть прекрасный OST этой игры, который я обязательно как нибудь куплю.

Но зачем же мы проделываем этот путь? В чём подвох то? Какой по итогу сюжет?
И тут... Сложно. В игре есть с кем поговорить, есть где почитать. Но увы, всё это либо настолько туманно, что аж спать охото, либо рандомно и не по делу, хотя те же Козлята в начале игры явно что-то знают, за что, скорее всего, и оказались за решёткой. Единственное, что что-то объясняет - это финальное обращение Принцессы к Сибил. Там то и становится понятно, что по сути - мы во сне, где помогаем некой девушке, что скрылась под ликом Принцессы. Принцессы - которая хотела, как я понял, просто уйти от проблем в жизни. Да, тут сюжета - кот наплакал, сиквела не будет, ибо Rittzler занят другим проектом, но это не делает игру плохой. Да, это не Undertale и не Hollow Knight, но это явно то самое приключение, которое я запомню на долго.

Вроде, всё сказал. Возможно, где-то что-то упустил, что-то недопонял. Но и ничего. Главное, что игра понравилась. Надеюсь, зайдёт и вам. Спасибо за внимание!

(А ещё я успел купить себе плюшку Сибил в свитере! Официально, с makeship. Через костыли и лазейки, да, но и хлеб с ним. Она ещё и в моём любимом костюме из игры, так что вообще зашибумба.)

very satisfying 3d platformer with an amazing artstyle with some very minor issues, notably, the wall kick ability was more annoying than helpful in a lot of instances. i found myself messing up a lot in the earlier game because of it, not to mention the fact it becomes practically useless in late game. apart from that my only other gripe is the actual pve aspect of the game, it feels unnecessary. the enemies are not only easy to kill but theres such little variety and so few in between the platforming that it feels totally pointless, not to mention the enemy designs, while interesting, dont feel like they fit in the world of pseudoregalia. all in all i found myself enjoying this game a hell of a lot and had a great time refining my skills through the time trials. 8/10, would love to see a sequel.

Old school N64 metroidvania with whole lot of motion. Movement is the bread and butter of this game and I feel like they did a great job. i need another game made by the same people. i love this game, its great. environments are diverse and memorable, music is amazing, game play is smooth with a high skill ceiling only thing i have to say is I wish there were more bosses and a bit more story but what is there is still good just left me wanting more. If there was a 3D Metroid or another Castlevania on the N64, this would have been it.

Superb level design, moveset, art design and soundtrack (OMG those tunes... Where a bossfight does not feel like a chore, but you enjoy it, just because the soundtrack, let alone the gameplay...)

It's like there was a game forgotten from your childhood, and suddenly you remembered that this was on the top shelves next to Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask, GoldenEye, Banjo and Mario 64.

I played trough it in one sitting... There are still collectibles and challenges left to do, but still.
A true hidden gem.
And again: game design in the end of 90's early 2000s was better. This game builds on that mindset and achieves to entertaint all the way trough. That's what it is. Pure fun gameplay.

If every developer would follow this mindset, and put such effort and care in their games, then gaming would be better in present times, even without fancy graphics. (Altough maybe a bit less mainstream hobby).

The game starts out fairly simply, then gets hard as nails for a long while. It doesn't hold your hand, it's not actually TOO difficult to play...
The jumping is crisp and responsive, when you realise how you can keep momentum you can find alternate paths rather easily and the powerups are very neat.
I'd say it's a great value for the money and a wonderful experience.

Among the few things I wish this game would have, it would be a hint system to tell you whereabouts you need to go next - or what's recommended - and a clearer indication of what the different colour upgrades are - make the first few a bit more accessible so you can see it clearly.

That's all the notes I have. I sucked ass at the game and died fifty times over only to somehow clear the final boss in a single attempt.

A great, short platformer that has metroidvania elements. Really solid movement systems that feel unique and are constantly developed throughout the game.

It's challenging but never too frustrating, though I definitely did get massively lost early on when I learned cheeky ways to skip to areas without realizing I was skipping. It's cool that the game lets you do that, but if you feel frustrated it might mean you are missing an ability you should be using.

Played it all in one day and had a great time from start to finish.

This is a solid 7/10. It’s a good game. It’s a solid 3D metroidvania. The combat doesn’t add t add much to the game but it helps break things up a bit. There really isn’t a story, at all. The game mechanics can be quite janky. Particularly the wall jump. It can be quite frustrating since you need to wall jump frequently. The level design is solid. A really fun game with really good movement controls.

There were so many moments where I had to really focus and get my jumps down perfect and every time I finally nailed the route, it felt amazing. The only warning I'll give is that it's very possible to beat the game without getting all of the moveset upgrades. I almost beat the game without grabbing the final upgrade. If it feels like a part of your kit is missing, it probably is.

But once you have all the pieces? (and even without that final piece, honestly) The parkour in this game ties together seamlessly - don't look up any speedrun videos and you'll feel like a master by the final hour.

В целом, я провёл время... не совсем с пользой, но явно с интересом. Игра не сказать, что сложная, но локации здесь большие, переплетённые. Много времени приходится тратить на их исследование. Ну, оно и не удивительно, игра в жанре Метроидвания и 3D-платформера.

Меня так же порадовали механики перемещения. Все эти способности, которые ты задействуешь для совершенно различных препятствий. Зачастую (а чем дальше, тем чаще) приходится их комбинировать, выдавать такие пёрлы только чтобы пройти очередное препятствие. Паркур здесь действительно классно сделан, одно удовольствие его использовать.

Если максимально кратко: ваша цель — собрать все золотые ключи (5 штук) и одолеть босса в конце игры, попутно прокачивая персонажа. В игре, помимо обязательных способностей, существуют сферы с бафами, которые просто усиливают вашего персонажа (например лучше видеть в темноте или повышение количества возможных прыжков от стены, или банально повышение урона). А так же во всех локациях спрятаны "кусочки здоровья". Собрав 3 кусочка, вы получите дополнительную жизнь на всю оставшуюся игру. Если не ошибаюсь, я собрал все, кроме одной. В итоге из 3 жизней — вы получите 8 (у меня всего 7 вышло).

Кратко отмечу звуковое и музыкальное сопровождение: оно хорошее. Звуки приятые, не раздражают. Музыка расслабляющая, не бесит, не давит на нервы. Всё...

Я бы точно мог посоветовать вам поиграть в это, если вас не отпугивает графика (мне такое наоборот, нравится, поэтому и привлекла игра). Потратил я на полное прохождение где-то 6-часов. Но, я думаю, можно пройти и за более короткое время. У меня часто случались казусы, потому что я твердолобый, и я ненароком проходил в те локации, которые мне, по идее, были ещё недоступны из-за неоткрытых способностей, которые необходимы для преодоления препятствий, чтобы попасть на локации. А потом застревал, не понимая, как проходить дальше и откатывался.

If you're avoiding this game because "it's for furries" then you have lost the game you've built in your own head. The only game YOU should be playing is Pseudoregalia, and it's only 6 bucks. Figure it out, pally.

I had this game sitting in my steam wishlist for a while after I had seen a speedrun of it during SGDQ 2025 and figured I should give it a shot after starting to look over my backlog. Really fun gameplay, exploration and platforming making this a really hard one to put down. Graphics have a great nostalgic look to them and I enjoy enough what story content is present. That soundtrack is certainly what keeps you motivated for the most part though, great sounds and melodies to be found here.

Only negatives I'd really have to say is the overall lack of story motivation and (as the difficulty demands it) the skill curve is often hard to pinpoint as bashing your head against the wall, in true gamer fashion, when you are missing critical gear/upgrades for a challenge. This particular part got me through most of my first playthrough, which made some areas have a worse taste in my mouth after playing them than they likely should have.

Overall, I had a decent time with Pseudoregalia and I'll definitely be looking into similar or other games from this developer.

fun game, can get a little lost during the map at times. Needs lots of skill and precise movements to do some of the parkour but it gets easier eventually. Reccomend this for anyone who loves challenging things. Not a very story focused game, you get some clues what happened by the NPCs. Feels like I'm playing 90s 3D videogame and the game seemed to capture that style pretty well

Pseudoregalia é, acima de tudo, um jogo sobre movimentação, e isso o jogo faz de forma excepcional.
A movimentação de pseudoregalia é fluida, satisfatória e divertida, com uma diversidade de mecânicas e combos de movimentos que deixam o jogo super acelerado e relaxante, a ponto de só desligar o cérebro e deixar fluir, o que não da pra se dizer do combate e da exploração...

Sobre o visual dos mapas
Os mapas são diversos e bem unicos, entregando uma identidade e sentimentos próprio ao entrar no mesmo, como na livraria e no teatro, que são os melhores mapas e que me reacenderam a chama pra continuar jogando, mas, como nem tudo são flores, tem exceções, já que 3 mapas são monocromáticos e muito parecidos entre si.
Agora, a exploração decepciona um pouco.
Eu gosto de como a exploração não joga na sua cara aonde você tem que ir, o que tem que fazer, você só vai descobrindo conforme vai jogando os seus objetivos e caminho, mas o problema é que Pseudoregalia leva isso tão ao pé da letra que faz com que você tenha que derreter seu cérebro na busca por uma solução, e por ser um jogo de movimentação, você tem que ficar pulando em qualquer parede que você consiga até você revisar a sala toda e descobrir o que tem que fazer, e isso frustra um pouco. Mas lembrando, isso são em momentos especificos, no mais, a exploração é bem fluida e intuitiva, como todo bom metroidvania tem que ser.

Terminando pelo pior, o combate é extremamente entediante e travado, a ponto que eu só travava a mira no inimigo e ficava rodeando ele com hits até ele morrer, é genuinamente a parte mais chata do jogo e que, sempre que era possivel, eu evitava, e é o que faz com que as piores partes do jogo existam, que eram as que o jogo te OBRIGAVA a matar meia duzia de inimigos para avançar para o próximo objetivo, era uma chatice sem tamanho.

No fim, Pseudoregalia é um jogão pra jogar aos poucos e ir se divertindo explorando e resolvendo puzzles de movimentação que são realmente bem divertidos.
Recomendo fortemente que não pegue pra jogar tudo de uma vez, pois você provavelmente vai se frustrar um pouco.
