It was fun at first, but the gameplay in the late game was not fun. It tries to mix things up by making items become invisible and artificially making enemies strong with no real way for you to fight back. It doesn't even offer powerful late-game weapons or armor. It's just mediocre.
At the surface it seems like a pretty chill and casual shopkeeping simulator. However, there are a handful of elements that will test your reaction speed and/or tactical and strategic planning to make things more challenging:

The game has been completely abandoned by the dev, I played the entire game in 12 hours, took a few years off, came back and saw there were no updates on the game for 5 years other than adding 1 achievement...... thanks bud.
I want to like it but it's a QOL nightmare. Navigation is tedious and it feels like a game that makes you do everything "the hard way." Menus get painful the larger they are as you unlock or acquire more things. There's no sort features outside of items as weapons, armor, or other. Dungeons make items disappear quickly which feels hectic and unfun when you're trying to puzzle out how to fit all of the loot. It's ideal to click on each passing customer, every tumbleweed, every bird, and polish items before they're sold but none of that is fun. If you want to be a shopkeeper, you want to haggle instead of have NPCs pass through like a conveyor belt with minimal interaction and either purchase or walk off. If you want to see numbers go up, there are many clicker/idle games that do that, or automation games like Factorio.
It's not a bad idea but I can't give this a thumbs-up when the execution is this painful.
The music in this game is good and I really like the puzzle-style inventory. However, the gameplay loop is just boring.
I note that the store page for this game does specify "As a simulation game it might start out slow as you build yourself up, so if you are bored easily, this might be important"... this rubs me the wrong way tbh. I shouldn't have to suffer through a boring start of the game to get to the fun part, make the start of your game fun.
I mean it's 2023 right? we are done with pixel art, which isnt really art anyway. I mean if i can create a picture with it,it really must not be art. Could you please actually make something worth playing cuz this is garbage.
The game itself is pretty bare bone, you’re a shopkeeper, but sometimes you go out and get stuff to sell in your shop, sometimes you “interact” with the adventurers in the park, and that’s really it.
The game loop itself is simple enough. It was addictive enough in the beginning of the game, but you will quickly start to see a ceiling, and I’m not a big fan of that, stuff like you can only level as far as level 30, there’s only so much damage you can deal to enemies with the best weapon and armor.
But don’t get me wrong, there’s a certain amount of uncapped things you can still continuously upgrade, but after you’ve finished all of the post-game stories, then what’s the point of having millions and billions of golds when you can’t even beat the final [spoiler] (the longer) [/spoiler] dungeon? I get that it’s supposed to be a literal longer dungeon for you to gather more stuff, but wouldn’t it make more sense to make it endless so that the players themselves can quit the dungeon if they feel like they have enough, instead of making the enemies so dang strong they can almost kill you in one hit?
Look, I love getting achievements with these types of games, and I’ll try my best to get all of them if the game at that point was still fun to me, but my goodness the requirements for the final few achievements are vague as hell. Example “____ is you!” achievements, how do you get those achievements you ask? Well ya just gotta get a “____is you!” badge, and how do you get the “____is you!” badge? Well shoot, idk :/
Story wise, I really wish there were something more, there is so much potential here, where’s the rookie to hero progression? Where’s the hardship full of the tears, sweat and blood of you and all of your followers have to go through, just to learn that [b] FRIENDSHIP [/b], concurs all? Where’s the big bad evil but low key kinda hot villain who terrorizes everyone in town but ends up joining the hero’s party in the post-game? Where’s the drama and bickering between the hero and the customers complaining that their cheese is way too overpriced even though the hero saved everyone’s ass by saving the world?
But no, all we get is the same repetitive dialogues. Example would be,
some random person I’ve never seen before: “help me gather X amount of Y.”
Hero: “k.”
Now rise and repeat those dialogues three times, and the game is done.
And my goodness, the lack of QOL shortcuts is shockingly horrendous. So many things could have been assigned to keys, restocking the shelves could’ve been made easier, fast access to switch from clicking on customers to polish mode would’ve been amazing. But maybe the developer wanted to specifically make a clicker game. idk
Sadly, the game has soooo much potential, yet falls flat because of its design. But by no means I’m telling you to don’t ever buy this game, I would say give it a try and reach the conclusion for yourself.
I can see effort and hard work being put into this game, I wish the developer could take what they learned when they were making this game and make an even better ultimate shopkeeper adventurer sim game that maybe one day, could even beat the legendary RECETTEAR itself. Peace.
Game wants you to pay too much too fast and you don't get enough money
I didn't like it at first because it was too hard to get through the repayment periods. the graphics are not too transcendent, but I still play and gradually like it more. There are a lot of cute details because it's pretty weird.

Pretty funny way to make shopkeeper game. You go on adventures where you must put items like in tetris to your bag. Then later on shelf and tables in your shop. Start day and click birds and floating grass thingy for extra money. IN same time people will walk around and buy what you have. Repeat, upgrade shop and stuff, put items on you to help you in adventure. Pretty fun for some time. Graphics aren't important, simple pixel like. Music is decent.

[h1]Cute RPG Shop Sim[/h1]
[i]Pixel Shopkeeper[/i] is a cute shop sim in an RPG world. Customers of various classic RPG classes come to your shop to buy the equipment and consumable items they need.
The basic cycle is to alternate dungeon diving with shop days. There are several different battle areas around the islands of the game, and each area has increasing levels of difficulty. The first dungeon level in an area is free; the others take a small fee that increases with level.
Whatever the dark dungeons and monsters your customers fight, you will only fight on the surface world and bash a few cute animals. The "dungeon" fights always consist of four regular opponents and a boss. The battle music here resembles something from early Final Fantasy.
Your character automatically fights through the area. This frees you for an inventory puzzle. Each animal drops some items. Your job as player is to arrange the items you choose into a gridded shape representing your bag. Items can be rotated to better fit into the bag. Later, you can buy other bags with larger shapes and useful grid tiles. If you fail an area, you drop all gathered items for that run.
The boss guards a chest. A few fights in, you have your choice of one of three chests. Some chests guarantee equipment and others guarantee crafting ingredients.
All dungeon areas save for the first one have effects on your bag. One has a quicksand or gravity effect that can make items sink from where you attempt to place them. The coldest area will freeze placed items so you can't adjust them during that run.
Once you have items to sell, you return to your shop for a setup phase. Here, you can buy and set display tables and decor, all of which have useful buffs for prices or customer behavior. Furniture can often be upgraded for better buffs.
You will also need to set up the items for sale. Only one individual item goes in a sales slot. This does make daily shop setup a bit tedious, especially after some shop expansions. You can, however, right-click on the tables for a menu to automatically place categories of items.
However, you'll often prefer the tedious route because each class has preferred items and you gain benefits for reaching milestones with each class. All classes have both male and female packages, distinguished by hairstyle or headdress and not obvious anatomy. The only difference between genders as far as item preference goes is that the ladies love jewelry. (Here, it's normal jewlery, not enchanted rings or amulets.)
Eventually, a travelling merchant offers you always-open access to certain useful items, mostly crafting recipes. Every recipe takes one plain-ish item and one or more of a particular ingredient. You will, of course, have to buy the recipe, but you will also have to spend money per crafted item item, about 30-60% of the base sell price.
A garden in which you can plant seeds will open next door. These seeds produce either certain crafting ingredients or heals.
While in the setup phase, you can also train up to finish higher-level dungeons. This takes an increasing amount of gold, of course, and is a random roll. You will always score a bit more HP and at least one or two increases in a statistic somewhere. You can also equip any weapon you make or craft and a single piece of armor.
You can switch between shop setup and perusing the world map as much as you like, but once you end shop setup and trigger a shop day, you cannot set out items or furniture.
The merchant also gives you decor items to decorate the outside of your store, such as roof tiles and wallpaper and bushes. These go into a rating score for store decoration contests. These are marked on the calendar, but you need to be starting that day in order to trigger the contest by clicking on the calendar.
Hilariously, customers do not actually enter your shop. Rather, they walk from one end of the screen to the other. If they are considering a purchase, they will pause and deliberate a bit. Bought items disappear with the happy clink of gold coins.
If you click on a customer before they reach your store, you can poke them into considering buying something. Some decor speeds up the decision or expands what items a customer is interested in.
This walk past also allows customers to offer you ingredients for crafting. Offered ingredients will appear above their heads, and you need to click on it to collect.
Later, someone will build a restaurant next door. It offers powerups (in the form of food) for dungeons, as well as crafting ingredients and garden seeds randomly during the day.
Eventually, customers will also have requests. They require either a specific item, or an item with certain minimum stats. Some are crafted items. In return, they will either give you items right away or go off on a short quest and share spoils with you.
[b]Difficult Difficulties[/b]
The game offers you three difficulties: Challenge, Chill, and Sandbox. I tried Chill and found it wasn't quite as "chill" and easy as I expected.
In that mode, a guy named "Some NPC" tells you that your student loans totaling 50,000 gold are due in 16 weeks, and you must pay up -- or DIE!!! (The game is not so gruesome as that suggests and just gives you Game Over on failure here.) I tried this mode twice and failed around the 10th week both times.
The problem here starts with you having barely any money, just enough to buy the shop and a few cheap early furnishings. Payments are due quite reasonably at the end of the week, defined as the end of the day on Saturdays. These payments start at an easy 50 gold and ramp up exponentially.
The thing is, nearly [i]everything[/i] costs money, and it is easy to feel like you are falling behind as the payments escalate. There are far easier debt repayment scenarios out there in game land. Plus, item drops are a random roll, if clearly restricted to certain dungeons. A run can end without getting any of the one item that you most wanted out of the three or four in that dungeon.
One small saving grace here is that the boss chests can contain any item already found and can often include a couple dozen various items in the higher dungeons.
[b]Sandbox[/b]
Sandbox mode eliminates the loan shark, allowing you greater freedom to explore the game. In Challenge or Chill, the loan repayment is labeled as Chapter 1. A few game weeks into Sandbox, the probable Chapter 2 goals are revealed as some white-haired noble congratulates you for paying off your debts and offers high-priced land for a second shop.
This shop must be built up and stocked just the same as the first one. You'll also need to hire a manager from one of the customer classes, but they'll only offer themselves if they have a certain minimum affinity for you. Affinity is earned through cutely awkward interactions in a nearby park on the weekends. Each class brings in extra items of one sort or another, such as armor or weapons, or gold.
Sandbox also reveals that the shop(s) have a high number of expansion, each just a couple more spaces to the side, and the gold amounts ramp up quickly. I lost count after five upgrades.
[b]Unfinished Business[/b]
No updates have been listed since mid-2018. The core game is perfectly playable, but there are hints of planned features that have never been fully implemented, or at least I haven't been able to trigger.
There are two islands that could be sites for other stores. One of the potential sites is the location for a hidden starter store that you can enter into the store decoration contests, but I have not been able to buy and use.
One of the late-game crafting ingredients has no recipes that I can find.
Still, the game balance issues regarding very pricey upgrades and the lack of clear deeper game goals do not deter my recommending at least a look at this game. It's worth maybe 15-20 hours of your time.
This game is good. I want to get that out of the way right now: it's definitely fun to play, and I enjoy it. The gameplay is enjoyable, it's very cute, I like the dialog, the NPCs make me giggle sometimes. The game is very small, but a lot of what it does, it does well.
If you like the style of "be a shopkeeper, repay a debt, go through dungeons, tetris your bags", you will like this game! Definitely, definitely buy it.
However -- because everything has a however -- while I do like the game, it does have some pretty noteable flaws to it, and a couple of them which tend to make some aspects not very fun. I don't think they make the game not worth buying, but the game would sure be a lot more fun without them.
> BAGS
The bags feel useless. I tried most of them whenever they came up, but honestly, none of them were really worth using to me beyond the default one. They're neat, don't get me wrong, but I never found one that was actually easier and more enjoyable to use than the default. They just felt gimmicky and annoying, and their high price tag made it feel like a waste of money to buy any of them.
> DUNGEON TIMER
The dungeon will actually time out once the boss is killed, meaning that even if you're still trying to shuffle items, you've lost those. This is incredibly unfun and extremely annoying, ESPECIALLY when it comes to the dungeons you pay to enter, because the shapes of the items are so ridiculous that you're scrambling to try to fix it up... and then you just spontaniously lose things halfway through. Considering the dungeons move extremely fast, this is just a pretty awful-feeling mechanic overall, and I'd personally have made it so that the items have to either be discarded, time out, or all in your bag before the dungeon ends. (The actual speed of the dungeon is just fine)
> DAY TIMER
The day ends when the timer hits the moon. This sounds reasonable, until you realize that the game doesn't stop DOING things before the timer hits the moon. People will still walk up to your store and browse, and I've had multiple frustrating instances where they were finally about to buy something I've been trying to sell for days, and... the day ended and it didn't sell. The day shouldn't end until whoever's browsing your store is done.
> TOO MUCH CLICKING
This is, perhaps, I think the worst sin this game makes. You have to constantly and repeatedly click things, and it's just outright irritating. You have to click to clean your tables. You have to click NPCs to increase their chances of buying. You have to spam click items to "polish" them. You have to click birds and tumbleweeds to get money. It's not fun, it's just irritating, and I feel like I'm playing a crappy mobile clicker game half the time. There's stuff you can buy to lower how often you have to do it, but it doesn't really help. There honestly should be some kind of option to toggle off the overly prominent clicking, because that sometimes makes me dread going into shop mode because I just wanna sell stuff and watch the NPCs. If I wanted to play Cookie Clicker, I'd go play that!
> THE PRICES DON'T STAY SET
Hey! Do you want to sell your items for 110%, try to make a profit? I hope you like setting that every single time, every single day. Props to the game, it does let you set that price for all items currently out on display, but it doesn't *save* the price you set things as. So every time you restock, you have to set the percentage. It gets old, fast.

Cool little Game for around 6$. If you look for a Game like ShopAKeep (but much better), Kingdoms Item Shop or love Business Simulations you can have some Hours of Fun (with Replay Potential) with this Game

Going to make this short.
Interesting game, I was having fun building my shop and improving everything. Things were going very well, when suddenly I got the pop up "Perished" and "Game over" for I have no idea what reason. Had to start over. Ehm,, why?
So, this game went from great, to, not recommended. Very disappointing.
While I mark this 'recommended', make no mistake: This is a highly niche product, with limited production values, and it shows.
That said: while this lacks some of the fluff and visual charm of games like Recettear, it benefits from being more streamlined in some respects, and having more interesting mechanics in others. The act of adventuring, for instance, is essentially reduced to frantically shoving items into your bag while keeping the corner of your eye on your HP, in case you need to use a healing item. Combat is completely automated, and essentially handwaved (although gear and level definitely play a meaningful role in success). Still, bag selection and prioritization of items (which things do I want to multiply, which things do I need to convert to gold, which things do I just take as-is, which things do I leave on the ground) makes this more engaging than it sounds at first.
But while the 'twitch' gameplay of adventuring is simply tetrising strangely shaped objects into even more strangely shaped containers (attempting to hit the scrabble-esque bonus tiles in the process), the 'shop' side of things somehow manages to be even more intense in many respects. After you do the usual rigamarole of filling sales slots with things of value, it becomes a time-pressure clicking game where you have to attract the attention of patrons (via clicking), negotiate quests with adventurers (via clicking), use some of your magic shopkeeping powers (such as summoning a potential customer, or making merchandise sparkle, again via clicking), purchase items from fellow shopkeeps (yet again through clicking), and mug both birds and tumbleweeds (?!) for gold and materials with.. you guessed it... clicking.
That said, don't mistake this for a simple button masher; you need to be paying attention to what you click, where, and when, and managing your attention is key.
Oh, and there's several parallel bits of progression on top of all that.
This game isn't for everyone, but if you're interested in time management in both the turn-based and real-time sense, there's some value here. If you like setting up shops and selling imaginary nothings, there's value here. If you like both, this game just might be worth your time.
This is one of those games like Sims where I play it every once in a while for like 3 days straight and then i put it down for another 2 years and the cycle repeats

Cons
-I've reached the ending twice and while I know some things there's alot I don't know. I wish there was an actual guide. The dev started putting together one back in February 2017 but silence.
-What does the outfits do? Do bonuses like the dust windows stack on top of each other? What's the purpose to remodeling a home other than getting bonuses here and there? I've never seen a contect before.
-I may have 20 top tier weapons to sell, but when I auto fill a table it instead chooses the cheapest weapons. I have to either stop going to the dungeons and wait for all my inventory to sell or hand select each item. Kinda painful there.

This game is fun at the beginning but quickly becomes cumbersome and lacks some intuitive UI design to make things simple to manage.
Once your shop is upgraded a few sizes it becomes a nightmare trying to properly organize and stock everything.
The game has a good 'skeleton' in that it could be a fun little $8 game, but in its current form I can't recommend it because you'll become bored after a few hours.
Pretty fun game and it has cute pixel art. It's a bit repetitive but people who enjoy puzzle and Sim management would enjoy this game.
Sometimes a game looks bad but positively surprises you when you get to play it. This game does not surprise, is annoying to play and weird in a bad way. Clicking customers to get their attention and then clicking them a thousand more times for them to react and buy a thing.. Instant buyers regret.
I wish there was a neutral review option but since there is not, a negative will sadly do.
Its a decent game for a few hours and the first chapter gives you a decent objective with some time to get it done. Eventually after getting ahead of the timer, I was able to stack some buff decorations to get my items to sell at 199%, plus what ever buffs came with the tables. At that point it was grinding out 11-15k a day to save up another 50/100k for some followers to get to even harder areas and training those followers as well as leveling myself.
This title is everything I want and more as a casual gamer. It's basically broken down into two co-working minigames, one being the shop and the other being the "battle" system. Fight monsters to get loot, wear and sell the loot, craft items sometimes, repeat.
The puzzle-based fighting system is actually pretty novel and I like how quick it is. It's a refreshing change that I really enjoy. The shop system is a bit simple and limited, but there's enough to do not to get bored. And, unlike other shop games, you can be active during the work day, clicking on passerbys to solicite them, enacting on-the-spot marketing techniques, or mining birds for gold.
I could make a long list of potential improvements, but honestly this game is well-priced for what it is. Would totally buy DLC, though *HINT HINT* If you like silly casual tycoon games, this one's a keeper.
Basically: An engaging shopkeeper game that even if I didn't like as much as I do, I would play anyway because I find it so funny.
One of the more interesting shop keeper games I've played. Game doesn't have overly elaborate mechanics, which I think makes it more fun. Since there are several ways to acquire materials to sell (running dungeons, crafting, being gifted things from adventurers who like you), this makes it easier to get involved in the goal of the game: get enough stuff to pay off your student loan (after graduating in shopkeepery) or you die.
This leads to my other reason for finding the game more interesting. It's funny. Click on bird for gold or items, only sometimes they'll blow rasberries at you and steal your gold. The tetris-like bag you have to stuff your loot in during dungeon runs sometimes gets appearing and disappearing puddles in it. Combine a shuriken and rose petals and somehow get a silky shuriken that appeals to ninja.
I found the dialogue rather hilarious (I probably don't have these quite right, but they're close).

So the game, for me, is a win. Engaging. Not convolutedly complex. Hilarious. And enough different little things to do to accomplish my goals that it doesn't feel repetetive.
It's not terrible, it's just kinda plain and easy. This game is a somehow simpler version of Recettear with the dungeon elements reduced to a simplistic somehow less skill based version of tetris... I have to give it to the devs for managing to distill already very simple games to their very base most elements which seem to be clicking and navigating menus. Mostly clicking though. Mindless clicking. There's a little bit of shop design strategy and min-maxing going on, but far too little to really call it a core gameplay loop.

It starts off feeling new, but it VERY quickly devolves into just another clicker with little to no strategy. Some of the design choices are also very awkward. Maybe I'll try it again later but I doubt it will change. It feels like it wants to be a light version of Reccettear but instead turns into a not so idle clicker...
A *very* fun and cute shopkeeper game. If you've played Receatter, then the gameplay style is very similar.
Plotwise, you've taken out a school loan, a portion that needs to be repaid each week. In order to repay your loan, you've opened a shop catering to RPG stereotypes (clerics, warriors, ninjas etc). To stock your shop, you're mainly expected to "run" dungeons and get loot. The actual running of the dungeon is automated, but it's the looting that you control. In order to loot stuff, you need to fit them in your lootbag. Each item has a unique shape, so fitting everything in your lootbag becomes a puzzle. But you can't take your time turning and flipping items to fit in your lootbag, as each dungeon run essentially has a timer. Once the timer runs out, anything you failed to loot gets lost.
Once you think you have enough loot, you can sell them in your shop. You have the option of outfitting your shop with tables and shelves that possess unique bonuses (armor shelves give a bonus to armor price etc), as well as ancillary furniture that can buff prices further, attract more customers to your store, attract certain RPG classes to your store (warriors, mages etc) and so on.
There is also a crafting system. You can craft better items by combining loot with ingredients. This way, you can "value add" to your existing loot if you have sufficient ingredients.
There are a few minor UI / QoL issues that prevent this from being the "perfect" shopkeeper game. Feedback and data are lacking for a shopkeeper game. For example, I can't tell how appealing my store is to certain classes, or what influence does lower prices have. I mean, I know that lower prices will increase the likelihood of being sold, but will it attract more traffic to my store as well?
But these objections are minor. If you enjoyed Receatter, you'll definitely enjoy this game. Strongly recommended!!!
I like management games like this, so I was excited to play this one when it came up in my queue. Unfortunately, it's simply very tedious and repetitive rather than any kind of fun. It has nice art and good aesthetic, but that won't save mindless and pointless constant click-click-click-click-clicking.
- Every day you set up to sell, you have to rechoose all of the items. There's no automation, no "choose best". When your shop expands, that's a lot of clicking.
- When you select a table space, the list of items you can choose from are not the ones the table uses. So you click on an Weapon table, and it shows you whatever items you had selected last (was it Armor? Misc? All? Who knows!) Which means yet another pointless, poorly designed need to click.
- When you're crafting (especially from a big list) there's no indicator of what you can actually make, so you just have to click down through the entire list to see which ones you can make... over and over and over.
- None of the equip screens (weapon, item, decoration, etc.) actually show you what you currently have, so there's no way to compare. If you want to buy or equip something, you're going back and forth between many different menus, just to see if that wallpaper is better than your current one.
- The shape of the items in the battle screen quickly become tedious to fit together, and the items disappear so fast that it feels more like mashing items into your bag mindless than any actual strategy.
- There's some kind of "hanging out in the park with potential customers" that has no explanation or seeming effect at all on the game
- Reorganizing the shop is hugely tedious because you can't move furniture unless the items are all off of them. WTF?! So you have to click on each item—hoping you clicked on the item and not the table—then remove the item on each space. Do this for every piece of furniture, rearrange.
- Speaking of rearranging, furniture only shows you the aura if you select *and then move it*. If you just select it, nope... no aura. Makes moving even more tedious.
- Once you've played the first part of the game, you've played the whole game. Nothing interesting happens. Oh but you can garden, which means more tedious clicking... ok.
Basically, the developer has a good idea but the game has really obnoxiously poor user experience design. If you like menu simulators and pointless clicking (not even the kind that give you a reward, just clicking in menus) this might be the game for you.
Pixel Shopkeeper is what it says on the tin and so much more.
In this game you start your journey with a tiny shop and a "huge" debt. Then you need things to sell so you head out into the woods to gather stuff. Then with the first money you get more tables and improve the shop and your character one step at a time. Then once you get more space you start to make use of the plentyful decoration to improve your shop even more. The resource gathering is a bit like tetris which I deem amazing as I occasionaly hum the melody of tetris when I try to pack the car or my bags. Things get as complicated as you want. There are even some low challenge / frustration modes if you just want to have fun with a shop. The story is nice so far and I still get new items and unlock different bags, more blueprints for crafting and more dungeons to explore.
The art style is pixel and fits the game quite well.
If you are remotely into shopkeeper / trading / crafting games such as "Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale", "Weapon Shop Fantasy" or "Holy Potatoes A Weapon Shop" then I recommend giving this little gem a shot and see for yourself.
There are always lets plays if you are still hesistant.
I do like the genre and this game is a good representative of it.

The game would be fun if you weren't making crap money and paying off a huge loan a little bit at a time with it rising so quickly. I enjoy this game more than Reccettear. If I could give it a 'Meh' I would but as it stands as well, I can't recommend the game.
Insanely fun little game and put 15 hours into it in 2 days - I was having issues with achievements unlocking and the developer took the time to e-mail back and forth with me to try and figure out the issue.
Highly recommend this game because of how mindlessly fun it is and how amazing the developer has been.

I just got this the other day. I can't stop playing it. It's so fun. I can't believe the content honestly. I thought I finished the game 5 hours ago but new things keep happening, and then I run out of peg legs and the ninjas get mad that there are no more stars and the stupid jackalope killed me in the cave again....

Catchy chiptune music with super addictive clicker gameplay. The RPG elements are implemented quite nicely, and there is a good sense of progression as you build up both your character and their shop. Nice way to spend a few hours.

Oh my god this game absolutly oozes with value. I thought I would pretty much be done after completing the first shop but that's when the game started to really open up. The humor is great and the sound of coins overflowing into your purse is pure bliss!

The only things I really didn't like about this game is the fact that popups block off your hotbar, which can get really annoying because they love to spam 20+ one after another. I'd lay money that the dev's are going to fix that soon enough though. Only other thing is that the music can get really annoying after a while... Might be because I've been playing for 4 hours straight though >.>

If you're thinking about buying this game because people say it's like Recettear, I can't recommend it to you. But wait; don't stop reading.
I think it's important to note; I don't find it very similar to Recettear, and I'm not quite sure why that's where everyone goes. The only thing it has in common is that it's an item shop game, as in you collect items to sell in your shop, and you have to pay off a loan -- but that's the only similarity. That could be said for a lot of games, from some Harvest Moon titles, to some expansions on the Sims. That doesn't mean this is a bad game, obviously.
Pixel Shopkeeper is very cute, and endearing. Definitely scratched my money-management itch, that I'm sure everyone here is familiar with. While I'm a little put off my it's repetition (and grating music), I see how often the game is updated, and I'm very excited to play it again when they've added more to it.
To me; this is more like 'You Must Build a Boat'. If you haven't heard of it; it's a pixel-style passive dungeoning game, where you don't control your character in combat, but you play a minigame to move it along, then you sell items you've collected for gold, and use that gold to upgrade yourself, and your boat to forward the game. How is this similar to Pixel Shopkeeper?

However, if you're thinking about buying this game because you like shopkeeping games, enjoy money management, cute pixel graphics, challenging goals, collect-athons, crafting and general mind-numbing repetition; I can absolutely recommend it to you. It's fun, and I don't regret buying it.

Great, fun, little shop keeper game.
At first, I was turned off by the tetris style way to get items. But it really grew on me due to the different types of bags to store items in and the special blocks in those bags. Bigger isn't always better when it comes to items, except when you need gear!
Managing the shop was a lot of fun. Picking the decorations, picking the items to sell, etc. It was all great fun.
There is a lot of clicking, but not as bad as cookie clicker or other games like it. Mostly you click on NPCs and your tables to keep them clean, but that's it. As someone with old hands that hurt, it didn't aggravate my hands at all.
The loan concept is great. It keeps you pushing forward, but not too hard. I had to figure out if I wanted to get more items, level myself up, or spend money on my shop. It was a good balance I had to manage. Though, I found once I was done with the loan part of the game it fizzled for me. There is a story afterwards, but I didn't feel as motivated.
Oh, and the dialog is great. From the main character to the NPCs. It's basic, but in some ways better than more expensive games I have played.

You can't delete save games, it seems. But you can overwrite them. There are some minor bugs, but not enough to detract from the gameplay.
It can get grindy after awhile.

I have been a gamer for over 30 years. I tend to play mostly PC games. I also bounce around between games A LOT. I may purchase a $60 game and play it for 2 hours or spend $10 on a game and spend 50 hours on it. Even if I played a game a short time, it does not mean it is bad. It just means another game caught my attention. I also complain about flaws in games a lot, even about the littlest of things. Keep that in mind when reading my reviews. If I do not have a complaint, then the game must be special!
I have been itching for a good shopkeep game for a while, and Pixel Shopkeeper delivers. It balances the typical shop management sim with click-frenzy selling days and loot gathering quests. I really like the mechanic of cramming all the stuff in your bag as your hero kills the monsters. Sim fans may find that the management is pretty light, but I think it's good for pacing's sake. The pixel aesthetic is amusing as well.
I'm optimistic about the future of this game because the mechanics are good, but it could use more content. Dev, if you're reading this, please make the day progression mechanics more clear, add more information about your relationships with the groups, and make adventuring more rewarding. I'm rooting for you!
I don't know why people think it's hard. I've played once and played about 3 hours before losing and on the 2nd try I've aced the challenge easily. Yes you do not have enough money at the beginning to buy everything, yes there is a bit of strategie involved.
But I have never played another shopkeeper game and being able to do it on the 2nd go for me seems to be simple enough. Especially now with the easymode, it's something everyone can pick up and eventually have everything.
This game may not look like much at first, but it's addicting and I love the way you do the dungeons and puzzle your loot into the enventory.
The shop mode is actually pretty hard, if you try to click everything you can click in time and make the most money on each day, but it's not required to beat it to be super fast.
A bit of spoilers on how to get through this game for the rest of this text to help people out a bit:
If you have trouble getting through the challenge, you might want to try leveling your hero more quickly (and use items while leveling) and going into better dungeons to get better items and buy a better bag quickly. Since the starters are both not good enough to get you through the game. After you've got that, you're going to pick 1-3 few crafting recipes and get your shop bigger whenever you can afford it (+ decorations and upgraded tables etc.)
The rest you have to do is simply adjusting the prices, I feel like going a little higher has no impact on the salaries, until the the message appears that your customers might think it's 2 expensive.
If you do all that, you should be able to beat the game with different selling strategies.
Really cool little Game, it`s not the easiest in the Beginning but after paying of the loan it gets quite awesome. Difficulty spikes may be a little too high because you have to spend some time selling, making friends and building your shop if you want to get to the next levels.
Would love to see more such games
I must say this is an extremely fun game. I was sceptical about the pixel graphic an hesitated to buy it for few minutes. After buying it, I was playing it non stop for 10 hour. It has a very good gameplay whereby the difficulty is achievable in a consistent manner. You yourself being well planned in decoration awards you greatly. In any good game, this game truely shows that every click you make makes a different in the quest of paying of your debt. It is time base in both fighting and selling your item/weapon/armor. Don't get turn off by the picture, it is a lie. This is definitely a good game.

I'm having a lot of fun with this game so far. It's a pretty interesting mashup of a couple different genres: of course at the heart of it is the shop management, which has a nice bit of depth to it as it involves outfitting your shop with the tables, shelves, windows and flower pots, and pairing them with specific items you slowly accrue. You've got to know when to invest in a bigger shop, when to attract more customers, or when to subtly increase prices for certain items. This is also paired with elements of crafting, growing crops, and even some small clicker-game elements that don't outstay their welcome (e.g. try clicking the birds).
Complimenting this already interesting management side of things is the way you actually get the items you end up selling: by adventuring. This part of the game is crisply short and to the point; there's no need to worry about hour long dungeons or lengthy battles. Instead there's the refreshing twist that your character does the fighting all on their own, while your job as the player is bag management. This ends up getting into some Tetris-y moments of fitting oddly shaped items together by rotating them around and trying to save as much space as possible, all the while you're on the clock. There's even different shaped bags you can get which provide new and strange challenges as to how you pack away your items (some bags are bigger and square, while others may have strange and challenging shapes while giving you other perks).
And the glue holding these two sides of the entreprenurial endeavour is a time-management mechanic where opening the shop for a day or heading off adventuring will take up days in a precious week. So you've got to balance when you re-stock weapons, when you sell them off, and how you spend your money; you could save it to be ready to pay off increasing payments of a rather large debt, or take the gamble and use that money to level your character up to hit better dunegons and get more pricey loot, or buy new loot bags or other such gear.
While all of that may seem like a lot it actually comes together pretty neatly. After a few minutes I got the hang of the gameplay loop and it's been a blast since then. One thing I'll say is that the inviting, playful appearence of this game masks a pretty intense race against time that tests your skills with a good bit of difficulty. I died while adventuring or failed to make my payments more than a few times. While this was a bit frustrating at the time, it also forced me to delve deeper into the mechanics of the game. I appreciate that the game doesn't seem to want players to be able to spend carelessly or do a sloppy job of balancing adventuring and selling. It's a game that demands your attention and comprehension and rewards you for taking time to examine it and learn from it.
All in all I've been having a blast. I've failed more than a couple times but never unfairly, and the more I've died or missed my precious weekly payments the more I've come to understand all the cogs in motion at once here, and which ones I have to focus on at different times. I'm not there yet, but I aim to be a master shopkeep yet and I think it'll be a lot of fun getting there.

I bought this on sale because of how cute it looked, and I was no disappointed. I've been wanting a Shopkeeper game for a while, and with the added cute pixels, this game hits every note!
The best way to descripe this game, IMO, is a puzzler mixed with clicker. On one hand, when you go into dungeons to collect items to sell, you have to manage your inventory space a la Tetris style. You kill the end boss, you keep everything you can fit. You die, you lose it. When you're in shop keeper mode, you click on as many people walking by for better chances of selling items. You can also click on the little birds and tumbleweeds that pass by for extra gold.
With every game there can be improvements, for this game training stats is very RNG based and can make late game near impossible, but the Dev is awesome and is always in the Discussion forum, helping and giving advice as much as he can.
All in all this game is a solid 8/10 where it stands, and I look forward to seeing it grow alongside the community!

I've only played for 3 hours and 40 minutes at the time of this review but I'm having a blast with this game so far! The art style is simplistic and the music can get a little repetetive but the gameplay is very addictive. You can pick from multiple difficulties which is always nice for challenge runs and such. A lot of customization in your shop, from the stands, down to details like wallpaper and roof types (each with bonuses)
The core of the gameplay is split into managing your shop, in which you stock up your shelves, plant seeds in your garden and then away you go. There's a few things you can do while customers come and go, including clicking people to urge them to visit the shop, watering your plants, clicking birds and tumble weeds to get random drops of bits of gold, getting quests from NPC's in whic you supply and item and they later return with some great rewards. You can also train to level up your character, craft items to sell or equip and buy supplies from the merchant.
The second major gameplay area are in the dungeons. The character moves along attacking themselves, but the player has a pretty interesting job. As enemies die they drop items which you must quickly slot into your bag. There's a ton of different bags with unique shapes and unique features (certain tiles that warp an item to your shop or sell an item directly etc). It's almost like tetris in terms of trying to fit as many items as you can in. You also need to keep an eye on your character's health and use potions when you need to. Different dungeons have different quirks such as some where items placed in your bad will fall to the bottom ala tetris, while others may have obstacles such as rain falling on random bag tiles making you work around them until they disappear.
Sure the game may sound simple but it certainly has that old-school addictive feel. The multiple parts of the game with completely different play styles keeps things interesting and there seems to be more and more that unlock over time. I've recently unlocked the ability to buy another shop on an island as well as take NPC's to a park to raise their relationship level and get some extra rewards. I'm always looking forward to see what features will unlock next!
The developer listens to the community and makes changes and additions based on feedback which is always a huge plus. They even have a survey for new features built into the game i nthe form of an NPC who occasionally will ask which feature you would prefer from a couple of selections. A unique and interesting way of voting for new features and I love it!
Can't wait to play more of this and to see wha tthe future holds.

There’s a lot going on in Pixel Shopkeeper, in fact, you’ll probably be a lot busier running a shop than you’d be if you were just adventuring all the time.
And unlike most fantasy games, the evil forces in Pixel Shopkeeper are truly evil, with their legends being based in reality. I speak, of course, of the dreaded student loan debt.
And just like real life, if you miss a payment for your student loan, you die and have to restart back to when you graduated.
But that’s okay, cause it’s pretty fun running a shop, gathering all the ingredients, and doing everything you can to milk those adventures of all their gold.
The developers seem very dedicated to working on the game after release, and the game even includes a survey taking NPC who comes by the shop every now and then and gives you a multiple-choice question on what new features you’d like to see in the game.
Balancing your loot-gathering skills, and how well you run your shop can be challenging at times, and just one missed payment means starting over, but all in all it's a fun experience, and one I recommend.
Fun game. Some items you put in your shop will sell a lof faster than others. and don't forget to keep your tables dusted :D

First let me say WE NEED MORE SHOP OWNER GAMES, RECECETTEAR CANT BE THE ONLY DECENT ONE FOREVER! Okay with that out of my system let me tell you about this lovely. This game is made by one person and that one person is often checking the forums to help/ take suggestions. The game is being updated often enough but is fun with whats already there.
You start off with getting out of school and a debt to pay off for all that you learnt! Wow, school is expensive depending on the difficulty. XD Anyway you have to pay it off so it's time to open up a shop and sell sell!! but there is a slight problen... you need items so hit that dugeon with it's Tetres like puzzle system and your epix packing skillz to get all that sweet loot into your small bag that later can be upgraded! Hmm... I need people to buy my stuff so lets poke the crap out of people till they buy my awesome stuff. >:) Oh.. whats this... I found a note and it tells me how to make some sexy boots!! YES PLEASE!!! I'll just equip that and sell my old dirty boots now he he he he. I want friends.... Lets go to the park and make some so THEY can be the ones going into the dungeons to earn crap err I mean treasures of quality to sell in my stores for me! yeah yeah...

A real good and fresh shopkeeper game. Definetly the best since recettear.
The bad stuff first. It needs works in almost every aspect. The gameplay loop, interface, balance, controls and much quality of live stuff. Further many mechanics are not very clear or it fails to explain them properly. As the tycoon genre is about optimizing and min/maxing that is certainly harder then it should be here. My biggest problem is that I can't play it for longer sessions as there are to many tedious tasks and they get more the larger your shop gets. There's no way to automate even the most simple tasks. I want to play, I have things I really want to archive but after an in-game week I just have to quit because the thought of filling my whole shop again feels like work. I don't think I ever had this problem with another game.
But the developer shows great ambition to improve the game. And the basis for that is really quite good. The puzzle element is nice, maybe one problem is it's rather stressfull than challenging. There's much to unlock and constructing the store is the best part. Most of the furnishings are shelves or passive bonuses and I'd like to see more things changing up the gameplay though. The progression feels good and there's always a goal and it has surprises and new gameplay elements that open up later on. Again most of those are not fleshed out or explained enough, but it shows a certain understanding of the genre.
To be honest it probably should have been an early access release, but if you like shopkeeping games take it - we don't get that much and this is our best bet at the moment.

A mix between Tetris, management games and clicker games in my opinion.
The Developer is working hard, pushing out updates daily at the moment.
For me who played through the "story" pretty fast, there is a lack of late game content now, but i am looking forward for upcoming content updates.
The game is great. Has a lot of charm and personality. I think the developer did a great job. Charming art, good balance of sim and puzzle gameplay, and the game never really seems to slow down; there is always something to do! The game is really immersive and really sucks your time away without you knowing it. Good stuff indeed!

Just not enough there for me. The concept is good, but the content is so sparse and the interface is not particularly friendly. I don't mind bare bones art if the rest of the game isn't bare bones, but it is.
A fun little timewaster!
I definitely recommend playing on easy mode to start; the mechanics take a little getting used to. I'm ten hours in and nowhere near completing it. I haven't quite figured out the best way to manage my week yet before the loan shark comes calling.
This game has only one flaw wich is massive pop ups like : You leveled up! New item in shop! New something! everytime but that happens only in the early game... despite that game is great one of the best shopkeepers ive played dont mind about reviews they are bit negative because previously you had an absolutely hard game and yes this game is hard its the hardcore shopkeeper.... but only if you select challenge mode you can also choose to play a free game wich is what im doing in this format type of play you cant loose but then il move to the next difficluty! The game is very well polished, with minimal flaws if you like shopkeepers you will definetly like this one so far i have no idea of how much deep the game is but i have some hours in it already and for only a couple bucks i got the impression game is much much deeper then what i think without mentioning that the dev is planing to release updates.. and probably some dlcs...
I thought from the name of the game it wouldn't be interesting, but I saw it played, and decided to give it a go anyways. It's really neat, giving a wide variety of challenges to do, without being overly complex. I enjoyed it, and suggest that you give it a shot as well!

I went through all the reviews before buying this game, and everyone was talking about how difficult it was to repay the loans. I was up for a challenge, so I bought it and played 3 hours straight and payed off the loans WITHOUT ANY DIFFICULTY AT ALL. This game is too good to be dismissed just because some people feel it's too hard. On the other hand, it's way too easy for management-loving gamers like me, which makes it a very short and content lacking game. Considering the price of the game and the active dev, I would still recommend this to anyone who likes shop management games.
This is a great game! For the price well worth it. I hope to see a bigger map in the future but its EA and im sure there is a lot more to come.
Ever since easy mode and sandbox was released recently, this game has been much more playable for a noob like me. I find playing this game on "normal" difficulty too much to handle.
The game is great, but most of it is scraping by to make the weekly payments. If there was an option to increase the payment after the week or not, it'd be much better for people not great at financial management games.
Pixel Shopkeeper gives the player a different experience of fantasy adventure theme by reversing the typical idea of a mighty hero questing and for fame, glory and wealth and instead presents the idea of a merchant questing to find goods to provide to the mighty heroes while gaining fame, glory and wealth in the process. I myself find the concept appealing and the humor is enjoyable, the gameplay is simple but effective and sometimes it can be difficult to stop playing!
If only I could have paid off my college loans by slaying monsters in dungeons and selling their loot to knights, mages and archers passing by..
Super fun game that is addictive in the right kind of way. Charming and witty throughout with the help of some playful writing and music. It might be a bit overwhelming at first but once you settle into the rhythm of the game, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the new types of dungeons, loot bags and ways to run your shop the game offers.
I wish some things were paced out a little more slowly, and there's a few bugs here and there but I want to keep playing it regardless. There's something special here!

Nach 37 Minuten bin ich das erste mal Game Over und so motiviert wie ein Faultier (tut mir leid falls sich ein Tierfreund hier angegriffen fühlt) ein weiteres Spiel zu starten oder den letzten Checkpoint aufzurufen da es sehr schnell hohe Goldsummen benötig die einen bei nicht mal 1% abbezahlt in das Game Over treiben.

I didn't like this game personally. I'm all for the dungeon crawling-fit as many things in your inventory as you can part. The selling part however...everyone moves SO SLOW and you have to polish your tables which just means while they're moving slow you repeatedly click the tables...and I hated that so much I returned it.
I wish there was a medium rating for this game. I enjoy shop management and puzzles, but the "success or die" idea - either you succeed or start from the beginning again - rankled me.
I originally wanted a refund on this game because I found it frustrating that I'd do all this progress and then get a "GAME OVER" and being unable to figure out what I did wrong. Did I not train enough? Upgrade tables? Buy too many or not enough buffing items? Worse is despite using the various save states I couldn't figure out how far back to reset so I ended up starting all over again, feeling like I'd wasted time.
I wish there was a soft reset like Recettear's "start at the beginning with all your items" to help me learn what to do (and it doesn't feel like I wasted my time). At the moment I'm too anxious to experiment with different recipes, tables, etc. because by the time I scrounge up the money I have to spend it all on the debt - then I need to frantically throw things back on the shelves to make up the difference.
There's now a sandbox/easy mode that erases the payment system, so I guess that alleviates my main concern and allows me to enjoy the game at my own pace. I suppose time will tell if this will help me learn how to solve the main game.
It's fun while it lasts, I'd say 5-10 hours.
After you finish the first part of the game you're basically done with the game.
The developer is quite present on the community. Let's hope for more content in the future.
A fun little shopkeep game with an active dev that listens to his players. Many people found it a bit too difficult so a new sandbox mode was quickly added which takes away the stress of having to make payments at the end of the week. So now you can go for the normal challenge mode or play relaxed and work towards unlocking everything. Worth the current price and with more to be improved/added in the future I can definitely recommend!
Now spent 10 hours in the game and must say it's so addicting.
I really like these optimizing games and this one has everything i need - also the minigame is a really nice idea.

Game has so much potential....
But I spend each week just barely being able to make the weekly payments. I never have enough money to enjoy upgrading other aspects of the store, or just enjoying the game.
Game basiclaly feels like work more than fun.
Having fun playing this game. Only about 8-10 hours in. But Since it was less than 7$ I feel i've already gotten my moneys worth.
There is enough variety and purchase options, to keep me interested. I feel like the money i get, is never enough. I have to make the decisions to spend money very carefully. My first game I had a bad week, wasn't able to upgrade anything in my shop, barely made my deadline for the loan payment. Because of that I wasn't able to make next weeks higher payment. Makes you think. There are no down times. Even the shopping phase, has you clicking constanntly.
I can see this game has a lot of potential. What I would like to see is maybe a hiring system. This is a shopkeeping tycoon with dungeons. So as such, I figure maybe either hire someone to man the store for a day while you adventure, selling items you set up while getting more for the day. It would help automate the process like a real shop would. And when I click the balance book, it says something about how many shops you have. Which means having a hiring system open would be a high reconmendation as the more shops you have, the more profit you bring in, and the more goods they are gonna need. Another thing that could work is hiring some customers to go adventure either for or with you to double or even triple what you get, or have them go to other areas so you can get items from differnt dungeons at once. On top of that, I could see potential to have different shop areas, each having a higher set of customer bases than others. Like one could be in the mountains and have more ninjas while one more on the islands has more bards. What would also be interesting on top of that is having a sort of luck system, and pay 5-10 gold to find your fortune for the day. high fortune means more valuble items are found, where low fortune is just junk or herbs. And from seeing what the herbs do and that there is potions, I am thinking maybe have a potionmaker to use those herbs for a price to make great potions that could be sold. Another mechanic that would help in this game is some sort of investment system. Something to use excess cash you think could help expand though risk/reward. If any of this was already in consideration, I am glad we got a lot there. However, if I said anything that may have slipped the devs mind, I am glad to help and bring up extra ideas. Overall, I would recommend the game based on it's simlistic puzzle/salesman mechanics. But adding more, I would definitely buy a few moer to give out because of how fun it is.
I almost didnt buy it becuase i presumed it was from the same dev as pixel blacksmith, and I don't want anything to do with that guy. Turns out its not the same dev so i thought i'd give it a try.
It is a pretty fun game, I'd certainly recommend it.
Very cute lil game reminiscent of Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale. If you like pixels, money management, simulations, and/or Tetris, you will like this lil game. :D
In my opinion i do thing this game is very good and addicting with funny dialog. My only gripe however is the grind to set prices up for every item to 200% Wish there was a option that allowed it to all be the same prices everytime so i dont have to mess about with it all the time

Not the hardest game if you tried something like this before, but rather a chill game.
An interesting little game a bit similar to Recettear. Though more basic too.
Perhaps I'm early on, but the game has no buy mechanic as you simply sell stuff to adventurers where's the later give you stuff for free. There is crafting, but you'll need to be way into the game to make anything meaningfull since it seems buying recepies is expensive.
The world doesn't seem large at the moment with only 5dungeons, but am hoping there are more to unlock if I pass that 5week.
But for 5£ this isn't a terrible game, though it might not be for everyone. Don't go into the game expecting Recettear style quality of gameplay, you'll be dissapointed. But as is, the game can be fun to play.
[Edit: The Dev has informed me that the game is missing a little bit of story, and that will be added later. So when it is added, i might change the recommendation]
I really liked this game. It is a easy to get in to, mouse only, puzzel/management, type of game. The first part of the game seems a bit unbalanced, and quite hard (Feels like a more unforgiving college debt, than the one i have in real life, geez). After the loan is payed back however, it becomes a enjoyable sandbox, chill, although sometimes repetitive, game.
The ideas are great, and everything is fast-pased. From the Adventure/loot collecting, puzzles. To the shop management, and sale days. Every step of the way, you have clickable people, birds, desert dust balls, and a ton af comical dialogue, if you pay attention.
But i have some issues with it.
[Edit: The gamebreaking bug have been fixed] - If you keep playing after you have 500.000 gold. It will open a cutscene that keeps crashing the game.
- The hired manager makes no sense. He earns you money without selling anything. Also you cannot go adventuring, and have a manager/managers work in the store, at the same time. It is one or the other.
- Notifications pop up i the middle of the screen, making it impossible to interact with people, while it is up.
- Not really a bug. But the only way to get ingredients for crafting, is donations from townspeople, The ocassional chest, if you get lucky, instead of collecting them on adventures. I feel like it should be the other way around. You find ingredients, then use them to craft the gear for sell.
[Edit: There is now a Easy mode, if you don't wish to go trough this. So it is no longer a big issue] - The first part of the game is a terrible mess of trying to pay back a loan in time, and reloading again and again. Not sure if i feel it is to hard. But it surely was a pain.
- The autosave saves just before you need to pay back the loan, and if you can't, you lose. So if you dont have a backup manual save, you are fked.
[Edit: This was fixed, you can now build the house a lot bigger!] - The house can only be upgraded to around double the size, but the lot you have it on is huge. This makes the game very grindy, since you cannot make money faster, lategame.
- You have to CONSTANTLY click the tables to clean them. This is probably the biggest annoyance in the game. There are so many other things you need to pay attention to during a sale day. And having to constantly having to click the tables, multiple time, to clean them, makes my heart bleed (At least the shelfes never get dirty. Phew).
- It is missing some story elements in the end, that i know the dev is working on at the moment.
As it is. I just can't recommend it.
I DO feel however, with some patchwork, and more storytelling from the very helpful Developer, this will become a great game.
It's addicting with good writing. I died a couple times in the beginning but I think I get the hang of how to balance upgrades versus payments.
After playing this game for a couple of hours I find myself really enjoying the game. I highly recommend picking this game up.

First thing you'll notice is nice chiptune music with a catchy melody! Contrary to what another reviewer might tell you, theres more than one song in the game and all the songs are quite good and catchy, and if you really want to, you can even turn it off if it doesnt fit your tastes!
here's some more reasons you should spend a whooping 7 bucks on this game:
- by the time you've reached your first hour, you'll feel like your hooked on the addicted gameplay loop!
- for some reason, this game has wonderful heart and spirit, and you'll feel it in your bones. You can tell this game was made with passion based on other wonderful shop management games we dont get often enough.
- its graphics are defintely fitting for the subject matter of the game. Its 8bit style, if you played games on the snes or sega genesis, youre going to feel right at home here!
- weird positive reviews which read like enthused gamers who love this game!
- i felt compulsed to give this a positive review the moment i saw this pop up on my store page, so i had to try this game to validate my intuition
За 30 минут игра сильно утомила режущей музыкой и звуками, низкого качества графикой (даже по пиксельным меркам) и довольно обычным процессом. Ничего нового и уж тем более интересного я тут не нашел. По сути и смыслу напоминает Plantera, там тоже надоедает через 10 минут. Весь геймплей заключается в укладывании предметов а-ля Тетрис в узкий ограниченный инвентарь, а затем продаже этих предметов случайным прохожим (автоматически). Создалось впечатление, что разработчик хотел сделать идлер-кликер, но на полпути передумал и сварил кашу.
Совсем недавно похожая игра про кузницу уже выходила (Weapon Shop Fantasy), с куда более широким контентом, нормальной графикой и приятной музыкой. Есть ещё вариант — пару дней назад в Steam вышла Farmington Tales, которую я ранее прошел полностью дважды, там вы делаете почти тоже самое, только не сражаетесь с монстрами, а ищите предметы по локациям. Затем складываете их в узкий инветарь а-ля Тетрис и продаёте + выращиваете культуры, кормите животных и т.д., причём заплатите в 2 раза меньше и без пресловутой пиксельности.
Вернул деньги, 'это' $5 ни разу не стоит, место ей на Armor Games в разряде бесплатных.

You'll get used to it and think "eh, it's okay I guess", but then you realise it plays throughout the entire game. no matter what you do, where you are, who you are interacting with, this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ music repeats over and over like it wants to brainwash you into seeing the world in pixels

Very good game. I had lost of fun so far :)
Its not so easy or unfair. Very easy games get boring after time. Its only lack of same information (what is effect of character creator(fortune, might etc.), what do relationship with fraction exactly do?
It good thats i have to do much things, not just wait...there anywhere minigames. But just little bit balancing would be good(some longer days forexemple)

Simple, deep strategy, and very addictive!
The game is simple, upkeep your shop by traveling out for items to sell. When you're automatically killing enemies, you have a mini Tetris-like minigame with different obstacles to hurdle. Each stage is harder, so you have to upgrade your shopkeeper through constant upgrades. Along with your shop too.
But it's more than simple, since the world is very vast with many items! Perhaps simple pales in comparison to the game. You can have relationships with merchants, ninjas, warriors, fighters, clerics, mage, archers, blacksmiths, etc. These relationships means more customers that buy your stuff! They will turn into loyal customers.
The music is good, but can be repetitive at long hours. This was made through Unity, so I'm throughly impressed.
If you bought the game;
Important to know!:
-Remember that when Green Herbs drop during stage runs, you can heal yourself. Sustain yourself.
-Check the calender regularly.
-There is no load function unfortunately.
-Speaking of loading, save your game! I had to restart a few times because I done goofed.
-Don't expand too quickly. You'll know what I mean.
-Invest small things and save up! Make small goals like redoing the roof, new tables, and new decorations for bonuses!
-Equip the newest items as soon as possible on yourself. It'll make you clear stages easier.
-When you sell your wares, click everything! Click the birds, your dirty tables, the people (especially the people with stars over their head when they pass by your shop!), and the little dust thingies!
-Each stage run counts as a day! Don't spam lower dungeons unless you need base items for crafting!
-Save your game!
This game is awesome! Its kinda like Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale where you manage a shop but for 1/3 the price. The music is great! The dungeon gameplay is addictive. You frantically try to place all the items to sell in your bag in a tetris-like minigame. I actualy preffer it over Recettar as the dungeons are quicker. Stratedgy is involved in order to make maximum profits like knowing an items sub type, your customers classes, events on the calendeer, and which things to upgrade. There's lots of items to craft as well. And lots of ways to improve your shop. I can tell I'm going to get 40+ hours on this game. Get this game! Especially if you like shopkeeping games, you won't regret it!
