it is okay to kill some time !
It's a bare bones version of nonograms, but you can't beat the price. The user created levels available from the in-game workshop tend to be better than the levels from the main game. I like to have a low engagement game like this in rotation to play while listening to podcasts, and it serves that purpose well.
one of the very few recommendable nonograms on steam. mid-level saving, individually fading clues, undo, etc. the official levels are a bit boring, too much symmetry, but there's a whole lot of workshop levels to go through. half the challenge will be finding decent ones among all the inevitable trash coming from lazy 'achievement hunters' though.

I love nonogram puzzles. I love the active community the game had and still has. I love the nonograms created by both the developer and other players. I love seeing the artistic talent and funny jokes created in the art. I love that I can create a favourite list with the community's works.
I love making puzzles myself to share and enjoy with others. I love the built in system of the puzzle maker, ensuring the nonogram created has only one solution. I love spending hours making pixel art, only for the checker to say it has multiple solutions. I love starting over and over again until it works. I love it so much that sometimes I wish it was "dead".
I love doing the easiest nonograms just to get closer to that 2k puzzles done achievement. I love turning my relaxation time into a grind to "complete" a game. Nonograms are a pastime I do once in a while, not a chore. I hate the 2k achievement with a passion.
Anyway, it’s a great game. I fully recommend it for puzzle fans, especially those who like sudoku. It’s also great for limited pixel art, really challenging the artist to create fun nonograms with beautiful results while having only 2 colours to work with and 1 solution requirement.

The picross puzzles that come with the game are too easy for experienced players, in part because they are often symmetrical and always paint some picture. But there's still the workshop with thousands of user made puzzles. I haven't touched those yet, I want to first 100% the "base" game. As of today I have finished 60% of it (all small, all medium, 22% of hardest level).
Definitely worth checking out. Great game to "kill time" or play along listening to podcasts or YouTube, etc.

The concept is easy to understand, and the gameplay is simple. I just think it is better off being played on mobile when you have to kill some time, not on a laptop or PC.

As an achievement hunter, I think having to solve 2000 puzzles was needlessly grindy. 500 would have been perfectly enough and even a fun and satisfying goal. If people like playing more than 500 because they just love picross puzzles that much, let them. They don't need an achievement for that.
I was seeing Picross grids when I closed my eyes so I had to uninstall. But it's good if you like Picross.

this is basically the perfect nonogram game. it's simple, highly customizable for whatever difficulty level you want the puzzles to be, and you'll never run out of puzzles to do because the workshop is highly active. if there doesn't happen to be a puzzle of whatever subject you want, the puzzle editor is really easy to use and it shows you where the puzzle happens to be unsolvable, which is a lifesaver when you start drawing big puzzles. overall, if you like nonograms or you want to get into them, i can't recommend this game enough.

It's a very simple, but enjoyable puzzle game. If you like nonogram puzzles than this game is definitely worth a try. Plus, it's free, who doesn't like free games.
The base game is pretty simple. It has 366 puzzles that get harder in difficulty which serves as a good introduction to the game if you have never done a nonogram puzzle before. But the real gem is the workshop levels. Made by other players, there's THOUSANDS of puzzles to find and complete. You can find anything in the workshop. Puzzles of IPs like Sonic or Pokemon. And for the most part they're all pretty good. I've found some genuinely amazing black and white pixel art of like Mario. You might see some in the 5x5 levels that are just for the achievements, though. Still, there's plenty of gems for you to find anywhere in the workshop.
The editor in the game also allows you to create your own puzzle that will be added to the workshop. If you like making pixel art, I would definitely try it. However, I do have one issue with the editor. If your puzzle is impossible to do, it deletes most of your work and you have to basically fully restart. It's a little frustrating, but it's understandable. Of course they'd want puzzles that are actually completable.
It's hard to not fall into the rabbit hole that is this game. It's addicting to complete like 10 puzzles in a row of the 15x15's. It's also so rewarding after working really hard on a 35x35. It's easy, but it can also be challenging. And there's a lot of customization you can do to ensure you enjoy this game.
I've only had one issue with this game, and it's a recent one too. I keep experiencing a bug where I try to check the leadboard on one of the puzzles and it crashes. It's frustrating and it takes me out of the flow of the game.
That being said, this game is a 9/10 for me.

The paid content is very little, but it has steam workshop with thousands of puzzles.
The interface is nice and the puzzles are guaranteed to be logically solvable.
The only negative is that there is a leaderboard after every level, and while there seem to be /some/ anticheating stuff in there, as in, the top spot is not always half a second, there's clearly not enough. The top ~10 at least are always just cheaters which does not only trash the leaderboard but also the average time.
And they don't even manually exclude them, because you will notice the same people at the top of the leaderboard in every puzzle and they have been at it for a long time now.

If you enjoy nonogram puzzles, this a lot of fun for a very low price. I enjoy a good challenge, so I went straight for the "Hard" level, which features 187 puzzles. It took me 31 hours to finish the hard level.
31 hours for this low price is steal. The challenge level of the hard level picks up around halfway. Some of the more experienced players may find the early levels to be too easy, but we need to keep in mind that this may be the first nonogram game for some players.
The game settings allow for just about any color combination which is great for bad eyes like mine.
This game isn't very fancy with cutscenes and a thick storyline, it's simple and straight to the point. I really enjoyed playing this. I'll probably be back someday to buy the DLC's.
Overall a great nonogram game. If you want no frills Picross you really can't go wrong with this at a price of $0.
My two nitpicks are:
1.) The basic puzzles are too symmetrical making them very easy
2.) There's no option to punish you for marking squares wrong.
Now there is countless workshop puzzle sets to choose from, so even if the basic ones that come with it are mediocre you have plenty of variety anyway. Even up to 35x35 puzzles.
Though I do miss how in other Picross games they will punish and fail you for getting squares wrong. There's no real way to fail and you'll never run out of time. That feature makes the game harder and more engaging which is not available here. It's by no means a deal breaker as that's my main complaint and only real missing feature.
Really it's a lovely game with near endless community content you should try out.

[i]Picross Touch[/i] allows you to choose the color palette that you want when you start up the game for the first time, and the game's color will follow the color that you choose. I found this to be cool, and the color doesn't end up too distracting either. I like how simple and intuitive the UI is; the layout is designed for touch screen so all controls that you need is also available as buttons on the screen. Despite that, the layout doesn't look too cramped with buttons.

[i]Picross Touch[/i] has 366 original levels separated into three sizes: 5x5, 10x10, and 15x15. You can play the levels in any order that you want, from any size that you want. I prefer it this way since I usually play from the biggest size first. All levels don't require guessing—the most that you'll do is to use the X mark to figure out where you need to paint next. As a result, the levels might be too easy for the more advanced players, especially those who are used to playing in larger sizes.
However, this can be mitigated with the workshop levels. They are the levels submitted by the players, and unlike the original levels that have a maximum size of 15x15, the workshop levels have sizes as big as 35x35! The number of puzzles at this size isn't as many as the other sizes because unlike the smaller ones that require you to make a level in that size to get some achievements, the one who made puzzles in this size has no incentives to make it. That being said, if you are up for solving puzzles, the workshop levels still have plenty of levels for you to solve, with the number increasing as time passes. At this point in writing, there are 50,305 puzzles in the workshop.

The game doesn't have a lot of QoL features, but they have the must-have ones. It has a feature to undo, put an X mark, and cross out the solved clues. It doesn't have a feature to automatically put an X mark for finished rows or columns, a helper to count the cells, and many others, but given how easy the game is and how small the puzzles are, you won't need those advanced features to enjoy this game.
[b]Creating Puzzles[/b]
You can create your own puzzles to be shown in the workshop. The feature is simple—you just need to choose the puzzle size, draw over the board, and then check whether the puzzle is valid. However, the checking can be confusing since it will only show which tiles have a unique solution and remove the rest. Moreover, the action after the check can also be confusing—there is nothing that tells me that I have to press the back button to fix my puzzle.

I finished the original levels in 15.9h. I then continued playing the workshop levels (mostly in 5x5 size) and getting the rest of the achievements until my playtime reached 25.6h. As I said before, the game is easy to solve—most puzzles are on the easy-medium difficulty. I can't say about the workshop puzzles, though, since the difficulty varies depending on who made it.

If you're a regular lover of picross puzzles, you certainly can't go wrong with this one! It's even got its own workshop community for making your own!
