When they took the game offline, you can't play Career mode anymore. Never had a sports game like this... this should honestly be illegal.
Since 2K turned the servers off for this game, you'd expect to at least be able to play it offline, but no - career mode no longer works, thus ensuring I'll never buy a 2K game again.

I realized I had a copy of this game and downloaded it far after the servers died.
Could've been worth playing. But the Career Mode doesn't work, the functionality is dead, and it's just an overdesigned character creator attached to a golf simulator you've probably already seen before.

A sane person could not respectfully recommend any 2k PGA game, unfortunately -
2k kills the servers a few years after launch to force obsolescence. Sad because they can be quite good, Unfortunately, with no servers most aspects of the games are rendered unplayable.
As expected with any online game these days, the servers get taken down and you are left with nothing. A husk of a game with no functional content. I only purchased this less than a year ago on one of 2K's sales. This game is everything that is wrong with modern gaming.
2k bricked the career mode for this game when they decided to shut down the online servers.
-Could they have patched it? YES
-DId they? NO
-Are their actions punitive against single player paying customers? YES
-Is there a way to avoid this in the future? YES
I will NEVER buy another 2k game, regardless of the genre or time that has passed. NEVER AGAIN.
I am open to the idea of a "go fund me" for a class action law suit since we didn't e-sign the document until after we made the purchase. I don't think we would win, but the negative press would be worth the money.

2K - I will never give you a single penny again. They shut down their online service, fine. But in doing so, they now no longer allow players to actually play the game we purchased. Career mode? Nope. Done. Gone. All of your progress, they stole from my wallet. Tell me how this isn't stealing? I wish we could band together in a class action lawsuit against these scumbags. 2K I'm telling you, I will never pay for your games. Steam should remove this game from their store. Absolutely ridiculous.

Ich habe wirklich lange überlegt, ob ich dieses Spiel schlecht oder gut bewerte. Man kann es nicht mehr richtig spielen, jedoch bewerte ich es doch gut, weil man es hier auf Steam eh nicht mehr kaufen kann und es wirklich Spaß gemacht hat.
Es war wirklich ein gutes Golfspiel und hat wirklich viel Spaß gemacht. Seit 2025 sind die Server offline. Zum spielen braucht man aber den Online-Modus, da man keinen Fortschritt mehr erreichen kann und nur noch eine schnelle Runde alleine spielen kann.
Und das ist schade, denn das Spiel war wirklich eins der besseren Golfspiele. Leider haben viele Sportspiele das selbe Problem, das sie nach ca. 5 Jahren nicht mehr spielbar sind, da die Server einfach abgeschaltet werden. Ich werde auch in Zukunft keine Golfspiele mehr von diesen Publisher und Entwickler kaufen, wenn durch diesen wirklich dummen Onlinezwang so schöne Spiele nach eins, zwei Jahren einfach sterben.

And all these clown show game companies wonder why piracy is gaining in popularity in the gaming world when you have the crap that 2K pulled here along with games being so buggy after being released. Gee, really hard to figure that one out!
The disdain 2K has for its paying customers to not patch career mode to be payable offline is something else given it would be so easy to do. Even better is they apparently think we're all such morons that we will go and rush to buy the latest PGA game after this virtual kick to the crotch, also knowing the exact same thing will happen to it in the future.
Fact is, the modern gaming industry is a dumpster fire and needs to crash and burn. Only then will these companies MAYBE figure out that treating their PAYING customers who keep them in business like crap isn't a wise business move.
As for 2K, they're the worst publisher in the industry and I respect those that will outright boycott any game from them. For others who won't outright boycott, make sure to NEVER buy at full price. Wait for 75%+ discounts and try and limit what you buy from them. I was originally going to outright boycott after regretting buying WWE 2K24 and then this PGA server crap but I broke down and recently got NBA 2K26 on a deep discount because I wanted a modern basketball game.
I'm just glad I only paid something like 10 bucks for PGA 2K21 years ago.

When the servers for PGA Tour 2K21 were shut down, it didn’t just disable online features, it effectively crippled the game. Turning off online components wiped out my career progress and rendered paid DLC unusable, despite the fact that I legally purchased both the base game and its additional content. At that point, this stops being normal support and starts feeling like content revocation.
What’s especially frustrating is that much of this game should function offline. Career mode progression, unlocks, and DLC content have no legitimate reason to be dependent on active servers years after release. Yet once the servers went dark, so did large portions of the game...
This is a perfect example of why the Stop Killing Games movement matters. When publishers retain the power to remotely disable core functionality, your purchase and functionality of these games can, and will be, turned off for good at some point in the future.
If you’re considering purchasing this game now, don’t. And if you already own it, understand that your access can, and did, vanish without warning. Games should not expire simply because a company decides the servers aren’t worth maintaining anymore.
In the future, I will not be purchasing games from this company. Ever.

This game used to be fun, and I loved it but you ruined it. This game was recently shut down on the server side (your side). Which makes this game pretty much useless now. We can hardly do anything on the player side (our side). We needed those server to do just about anything.
All we can do is play a single match alone. We can't do co-op, we can't do career mode (which was pretty much everything): no achievements, no use for player customization (no story anymore), no rivals, no trophies, no tournaments, no gear collection, no milestones, no records (what I mean by this is the records that were logged from playing), etc. The game itself isn't even buyable anymore. Not to mention all of those unobtainable DLCs, makes this feel like an incomplete game, that we can never finish. We can do just about nothing now!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Normally the game getting pulled from stores isn't a problem. You could buy keys from Fantical, or win keys from SteamGifts, but this game will be just deadweight to your library. I WOULD NOT RECCOMEND IT! It's one thing to remove a game from the store. That doesn't necessarily make it unplayable. But when you shut down servers that does. AS IT IS, THIS GAME IS WORTHLESS!
That's my final review currently. If this was sooner, it'd be much different. But I'm glad I got to expose your true self. In the current time, this game sucks. It was good, not anymore. Please don't buy this game. Please.

A 5 year old game I paid for that I no longer get to own. First and last purchase from 2K.
No longer supports online features. Very disappointing. Cannot play hardly any feature without it except solo single play. Worthless to create your own personalized golfer because the character cannot be used anywhere!!!
So I wanted to play this game again because I was bored of everything else. I then found out they took the servers offline and my level is set at 0. Most of the modes don't work without online servers so that means no playing the custom courses that I enjoyed! Yes I am late finding this out only because I haven't play this in awhile but here is my negative review.

Im Herbst 2025 hat der Anbieter die Server abgeschaltet. Seitdem ist "PGA Tour 2K21" nur noch sehr eingeschränkt "spielbar" bzw. nutzbar. Ich nehme dies zum Anlass, Spiele von 2K zukünftig nur noch zu sehr niedrigen Preisen zu "kaufen".

Dead game due to 2K switching off the servers. Even single player career mode is unavailable now because they made it require those servers. Not patched to fix before shutdown, and 2K23 is due to suffer the same fate next year.

Like many here, I loaded up the game and it won't connect to the internet. Their servers are down. This was my favorite golf game of all time. I loved it. Very shocking feeling right now... like WTF just happened' feeling.
