I don't know if a whole lot of people on here are familiar with flappy golf it is a mobile app that was very popular for its ability to link phones and play together in my highschool.
This game is a lot like flappy golf but better in every way, it ditches the cartoony aesthetic for something simpler which allows the greatest feature of this game, its customization, to shine.
The amount of modes this game has to offer are truly staggering which is amazing for couch co-op fun with a group of friends or even just another individual. I have only scratched the surface of all of these modes but each one i have played with so far adds a unique modifier that keeps competition fresh.
The game also gives the user complete control over these settings which reminds me of old level editors that are not often as strong as they used to be.
Between the extraordinary amount of goofy golf content on display here and the in-depth tools its offers to make your own fun with friends this is a hearty reccomendation in my opinion for anyone who enjoys party games with friends

If you've ever played a 2D side-scrolling golf game, this is immediately recognizable as yet another entry in that field … except the focus is on shooting quickly and there's a high chance of hitting opponents, creating the kind of physics-based chaos which can be both super frustrating and addictive. The controls are quick to learn and fun to master, making the game's title an excellent fit.
Matches are between four opponents simultaneously racing to reach the hole, and they're able to shoot any time they stop or move slow enough. A countdown starts when the first ball is in, which can lead to very short rounds. The four are then ranked and scored with more points for getting in first or closest, and a bonus for holes-in-1 or other factors, then they're sent to other random maps until a winner has over 500 points and gets in first.
But that's just a default quick game. The Custom menu allows you to fine-tune a match in MANY ways, from the exact specifics of scoring to which terrain types can appear, where the hole will be relative to where you start, or whether the maps will have rising water or bonus point coins or insta-death mines or random junk falling from the sky. You can make things harder for specific players, give everyone the ability to shoot at any time, or adjust game speed or gravity or wind strength. There are challenge modes where all the balls stick together if they touch, or where the map is covered in darkness. You can even set up a match that plays like normal golf, with players taking turns on each shot, though this makes ramp-shots extra hard.
If you're not ready for that much freedom, there are also a lot of preset styles. The Game Modes menu allows you to start matches in categories like Precision, Super Powers, Survival, Dangerous Environments, Alternate Endings, and an alphabetical list of 96 types. Then they offer further options before starting, in case you want a different power or for the map to have bouncy sides. Not all of these modes are great and some are downright un-fun, but there's a lot of fun to be had in trying them all, the variety is good and they can be customized if there's one or two things you need to change.
Maps are randomly generated to a degree, though use repeating shapes and patterns which soon become recognizable. Areas might be open with death pit sides, caves with a lot of tunnels, or long slopes which scroll along. Since a few of the generated maps will be impossible, it's a good thing the matches don't penalize skipping a round; for example, if a hard checkpoint spawns in a tight hall, there's no getting past it and you should quickly skip to the next.
If you want to play alone and against the world, the Trials menu throws you into a course of preset maps until reaching some limit, either total shots across all the maps, a time limit with some time added back for each hole, or a distance limit that requires economic shooting. Your score goes into a world leaderboard, there are 153 trials in all and some are extremely challenging! Categories include Caves, Spiderball where you have powers, Banana with a banana-shaped ball, Slomo or Super Speed, Checkpoint maps, Icy Towers, Bouncy Platforms and more.
The first and biggest “flaw” with this game is there's not a lot of reason to keep playing after you've seen everything. Even with all the provided options, the experience amounts to something you might try occasionally with friends for an hour of chaotic fun. If you enjoy it, maybe 20 hours exploring all the modes and getting achievements. But after that? Spending a hundred hours or more breaking into the top 10 of all 153 Trials would require willpower and devotion not many have.
For an actual issue, there's not a lot of complexity to the computer opponents. They have a few basic strategies and an understanding of angles and momentum, yet don't understand some modes (No Prize For Second, Pixel Sift, anything with checkpoints) and can't use powers which often leads to waiting out the clock against them. If the AI was better, maybe defeating them would be enough of a challenge to keep players invested for longer – though that would end the tone of a simple party game.
Also, I experienced a small issue with the Stats screen not recording some info, and I wish there was some way to favorite or bookmark specific modes and trials, to quickly find them later or create categories based on what I want for a mood or occasion. Some game modes are a lot better than others but get lost in the menus.
Overall I do recommend this game for anyone who wants something to do in Remote Play or who has a setup in a room where many people can play together, and of course for those who enjoy this style of side-scrolling golf gameplay. The game has small flaws, but it's fun and worth the price.

Easy to learn and very fun to play game that certainly lives up to its name. The easily readable visual style combined with dead-simple controls make this a perfect party game for non-gamers. Everyone can compete and enjoy. Or, turn on collision and enjoy the chaos. Remote play together made it simple for friends from all over to connect and play like we're on the same couch.
Seemingly endless modifiers give you the freedom to cook up the right gametype for whatever crowd or skill types you have playing, or find something new that none of you didn't even know you wanted. At least three times we found a new game-mode that became our favorite mode. Start mixing and matching and make something truly fun, or not, it's up to you.
Levels are randomly generated which can keep things fresh but also produce just some of the dumbest levels you've ever seen.

Could not load a default game with shared controller mode on, and the devs never added 8 player controller support. Buy on the switch if you have the option instead, but who knows if it actually works.

Good concept and ideas, but poorly executed.
The game itself is fine, it's a very simple golf game, but with a TON of game modes and customization options. Which sound very fun. But I'd also like those options to work, the game modes work as intended, but once I had saved a custom preset I couldn't start a game with those custom presets.
Also some menu interactions don't work and changing the settings mid-game causes the game to crash.
I'm glad I got this game on a discount for 1,49€.
I bought this game with the expectation to have a lot of range for customizability, which I have, but I can't access this customizability or make it useful, so sorry it's a NO BUY for me.

Party Golf is one of the best party games. I love it, friends of mine love it, and it's super easy to pick up and play, even for people who don't feel like they're good at video games. Tons of game modes and support for either 4 or 8 players. I've only played with 4 people so far, but you can do eight with each person sharing the controller I believe. Great game. I have it for steam and ps4

Game modes are made up of a combination of game modifiers.
There are 95 predifined game modes, here are a few of them:
* Default <- Get to the hole first
* Fruit Salad - Play as fruit instead of balls

* Go long - Make it to the hole and be sure to have taken the longest path.
* Flappy ball - Flap powerup, lots of mines, long scrolling level.
* Turbo mine dropper - Powerups: Drop mines and Turbo.

If you want to make your own game mode or alter an existing game mode there are modifiers for pretty much EVERYTHING:
* Terrain
* Physics
* Ball
* Win conditions

The modifiers can be assigned to specific players so you can give someone a handicap like a bouncy ball or extra help like a more powerful shot.
Once you're done configuring you can save it as a custom game mode and give it a meaningful name.

Trials are a collection of levels with preconfigured modifiers where you compete for a spot in the online highscores by completing as many levels as you can in a certain amount of shots, seconds or travelled distance.
There are 14 categories of trials each with preconfigured modifiers, each category contains several trials and each trial contains several levels.
14 categories * several trials * several levels = plenty of trial content to explore in single or multiplayer.
(By default the game only shows the top 8 players but there is an option to switch scoreboard mode to see where you are in the top 100 list.)

I have a special interest in local multiplayer games supporting more than 4 players, which is the main reason I bought the game a long time ago. Since the game doesn't support 8 gamepads it's been lying in my library only to be rediscovered today.
What impresses me the most about this game is the number of game modes and the insane amount of configurable game modifiers. Would love to see more games implement similar configurability since it really boosts replayability and allows you to adapt the game to different players.
My kids (4, 7 and 8 years old) aren't that into competitive gaming yet, but after setting some modifiers to make it easier to play, turning off the round timer and making the game wait for everyone to reach the hole they really enjoy it, especially when we explore power ups, exchange balls for fruit and collect bonus coins. The cool thing is that I too can enjoy playing it with them since I can add modifiers (like boucy ball) to give me a handicap.
I'll definately be playing it with my kids again and I look forward to playing the game with friends in the near future.
EDIT: Played Party Golf with 2 friends tonight testing different game modes. Crazy come backs and millimeter misses causing you to lose a match. Loved it and will definately play again! :-)
We tried this game at PAX and absolutely loved it! All of our friends enjoyed it, regardless of skill. Good crowd pleaser and party game, for gamers and non-gamers alike.
Such a fun little game that is actually so very big. The addition of leaderboards has added a lot to this game as It really does give you something to strive for in single player mode. I love playing this game with my daughter though. She loves the art style and the game is easy for her to pick up and play. Such a great game and I would recommend anyone out there grab a copy of it.

Party Golf has done the unthinkable by managing to make the sport of golf exciting and gloriously fun. This is a stellar example of local multiplayer done right.
The beauty here lies with the simple, striking design and the simple controls. Gaming veterans and novices alike are able to understand the systems here within 5 minutes; this pick-up-and-play philopsophy makes the game a perfect fit at a LAN or gaming session with friends.
Unlike golf games requiring you to sink the ball in as few shots as possible, Party Golf tasks you with getting the ball in the hole as quickly as you can. By turning the traditional rules of golf on its head, Giant Margharita have created a game with both the excitement of Towerfall and the nuance of Rocket League.
That being said, if you'd prefer to reward players who use fewer shots, Party Golf will let you. You can change the objectives, maps, ball sizes, ball physics, ball shapes, powerups, roll speed, bounce speed and hundreds of other variables with a simple and easy-to-use menu. The developers claim that there are a "trillion trillion trillion" different combinations for play, and after tinkering with the menus I'm inclined to agree. These features give the game enormous legs, and I can definitely see myself playing this with friends in years to come.
Don't waste your time reading reviews that whinge about the lack of online multiplayer. This is a game meant to be enjoyed in person, with like-minded friends. The joy of sinking a last-minute shot to win is genuine and thrilling, and Party Golf doles out these moments with plenty of regularity.
With near-endless customisation and easy, intuitive controls, Party Golf is a stellar inclusion in your local mulitplayer rotation.

I got the chance to play this on ps4 at AICon 2016 in Hobart and loved it so as soon as I saw it was on Steam I got it. Its brilliant fun solo so far. Much more fun pushing your friends out with forcefields and easy to use controls. Highly recommend it. If there's one golf game to get on pc to get its this one. 10/10

Das Spiel ist perfekt dafür gemacht. Die Idee und möglichkeiten hier sind perfekt.
Es ist nur unglaublich schade das es nur Lokal Mehrspieler hat.
Auf der PS4 klappt es vlt. gut mit dem Lokalen Multiplayer, aber wkl. niemand kauft sich ein Spiel auf Steam um dann mit Freunden zusammen vorm Rechner zusitzen.
Echt schade. Aber ansonsten Top wenn man Lokal Freunde dahat, oder an sowas alleine Spaß hat.
No online multiplayer makes this game not worth playing. Would be immensely fun if it was an option.

Party Golf is a game people should look into if they are hosting a local game event (or just want some local fun in general) especially with how crazy (or simple) the customisation options can be, I'm a big fan of the bananas. You can play the game with 4 controllers or with a combination of keyboard or mouse which I was pleasantly surprised that it worked quite well. :)
More psychedelic fun than licking toads.

I haven't seen this many fruits on a golf course since the San Francisco Open!
