If you played Panzer General (I played over 2000 hours in the 1990s and 2000s this is its successor. Panzer Corps 1 has all the campaigns complete for each year so you can take a core army through the entire war. Fun game totally adequate graphics and lots of content. You can cheat and edit units if you like that. Excellent value if you like hex battles and WW2.

随便写写愿景：
1.各军团及指挥官编制按史实师编制及补给，缴获装备师团可自留。
2.大地图来一份，不用细致到wite程度，区块方式表现各师团分布及行进情况即可。各资源绑定大地图。更多国家的军团制式。
3.装备生产线按时间轴补一份，各师新式装备的升级替换受其产量影响。
4.战斗：
a.地图区分路径出兵区，各类师团在战中都可以发挥（步兵师，装甲师，航空大队，空降师，海军等）。大地图板块连接的路径限制了可调用师团类型和数量。
b.后勤影响战中补给效率，大地图中版块补给效率差，战斗中就差。
c.区分补给弹药油料和补员规则，补员采用据点周围方式，依据装备池储备及补给效率等因素决定。避免野外随时补员导致只看算子数量，填线无敌的情况。
d.工事构筑与快速突破，任何地形的工事构筑都需要不同的施工时间和天气影响，单位的工事能力等因素，避免直接填线就3级防御，这种情况装甲部队对于复杂地形的步兵海基本突破不了。初次进入复杂格不具备任何工事等级。装甲部队的再动机制添加，侦查单位的穿插能力增加（无视zoc同时不减少移动力）。
e.撤退与溃败机制，压制后的短暂撤退是OK的，减员到一定程度，结合工事等级及压制情况可以添加直接溃败，剩余单位返回师团池，等待战略阶段修整补员。无需追求对于单个单位的全歼（实际战争中基本也不会战斗到最后一人），追求战损比即可。
f.指挥官不再具象化到单个算子上，师长（影响所属师单位属性），军长（指挥规模提升，影响协同作战属性及各师补给效率），集团军司令，集团军群总司令各司其职。数值不好给，影响平衡度，这条可以简化到2级指挥链。

写在最后：有兴趣的朋友一起探讨探讨，自己做一个也有可能。（各战斗地图编辑串联和师团史实考究和配置还是比较耗时间）

It is basically Panzer General I remaster, with many Quality of life improvements (Units can now shoot and then later move, heroes were added from Panzer General II which is amazing, now the novelty is also medals, has much more campaigns for each side etc.) and many graphic improvements. Honestly the best remaster of a classic strategy game from my teen years. Cant recommend it enough!

How I missed this one I have no idea. Love it ! I have been waiting for a game like panzer general series for ages and this is it. Fairly smart A.I. that can give surprises and a challenge. I bought the bundle pack so have all the campaigns. If your into this type of WW2 game, then this will keep you going for years, yep years. There is so much in this game and total value for money that it surprised me in this day and age. Great chill game to relax from the intensity of games like War Thunder, Il 2 and other real time blasters. The only thing i can fault and it maybe possible I have not found it yet, is the ability to delete unwanted units in the reinforcement pool list. Great game !

It's basically an updated Panzer General 2 with a more complex combat system. Puts up a decent fight at higher levels. But. pretty easy to set traps, especially for enemy aircraft. It's certainly better than it's successor!

I bought the whole set, and feel like I got my money's worth. If you like traditional hex WWII games, you won't be disappointed. I'd give it 8 out of 10.

I keep playing it, not so much because it's great, but because so many other WWII games are just sooooooo bad. They have fancier graphics or features, but miss the mark.

Ich spiele Panzer Corps seit Beginn und habe daher mehr Stunden, als hier auf Steam angegeben, da ich früher offline, also nicht über Steam gespielt habe. Das Spiel ist einfach ein würdiger Panzer General Nachfolger und bietet ein breites Spektrum an taktischer und strategischer Führung ab. Es gibt in dieser Liga (zugängliches und einfaches Wargame) kein besseres Game, für mich. Absolute Empfehlung.

Still though I like this game better than PC2 and its generally a fun experience. Beat the main campaign on easy and afrika korps. Not gonna touch the GC, I've had my fill and that many missions would get way too repetitive.

played this for years , the basic system is fine but after that its AI points dump with combat odds favoring the computer attacks , weather etc to a crazy degree turns it into a puzzle game that can olny be solved by saving every turn and only very limited ways of wining / solving the problem . Panzer Corps вызывает одновременно и восторг, и тихое разочарование. Причём разочарование приходит не от качества самой игры, а от собственных ошибок, которые она позволяет совершить, а потом безжалостно за них наказывает.

Начинается всё предельно дружелюбно. Правила осваиваются буквально за пару обучающих миссий: вот юниты, вот их характеристики, вот карта с лесами и реками. Двигай фигурки, атакуй, захватывай города. Механика, отточенная ещё в классическом Panzer General, работает безупречно. Она создает идеальный баланс между доступностью и тактической глубиной. Поначалу кажется, что ты гениальный стратег — танки прорывают оборону противника, истребители завоёвывают господство в воздухе, штурмовики его реализуют. Каждая быстрая и решительная победа приносит не только удовлетворение, но и ценный ресурс — престиж, который ты с радостью вкладываешь в новые танки и самолеты, пытаясь как можно лучше реализовать технологическое превосходство: всё равно вне городов и лесов основную работу делает не пехота, верно?

Именно в этот момент игра расставляет свою главную ловушку. Она никак не намекает, что блестящая летняя тактика окажется абсолютно бесполезной зимой, а гексы с городами, горами и лесами могут занимать в совокупности более половины карты. Встроенное обучение объясняет, как играть, но совершенно не объясняет, о чем нужно думать наперед. Будущее наступает, и стена, о которую разбивается твоя армия, состоит не столько из вражеских дивизий, сколько из твоих собственных просчетов. Танки, еще вчера проносившиеся по равнинам, вязнут в осенней распутице. Дорогая и занимающая полноценный слот юнита авиация неделями сидит на аэродромах из-за плохой погоды. А когда дело доходит до штурма или обороны городов размером в десятки гексов, выясняется, что твои дорогие танки — ужасно неэффективный инструмент для городских боев. Их жжёт из-за каждого угла пехота, на которую ты сам вовремя не потратился, потому что она пересекала поля втрое медленнее и была на них беззащитной.

В этот момент приходит осознание: кампания проиграна не здесь и сейчас, а пять миссий назад, когда ты делал ставку исключительно на танки и самолеты. У тебя нет ни сильной пехоты для штурма, ни достаточного количества артиллерии для подавления обороны. А перестроить армию уже невозможно — не хватит ни времени, ни престижа.

И вот это ощущение — потратить 10-20 часов на кампанию, чтобы упереться в тупик из-за неочевидных вначале решений — и есть тот самый фактор, который не позволяет назвать игру идеальной. Сложность в ней нарастает скачкообразно. Самый лёгкий уровень сложности (Sergeant в английской версии) не учит ничему, потому что прощает любые ошибки. А уже следующий (Lieutenant в английской версии) требует долгосрочного планирования, к которому игра никак не готовит. Мотивации начинать всё с самого начала, снова проходя уже знакомые миссии, хватает не у всех. Можно, конечно, настроить сложность гибко, чтобы она представляла собой нечто среднее между «очень легко» и «легко»... но чтобы понимать, какие настройки на что влияют и как сбалансировать сложность, нужно УЖЕ уметь играть. А чтобы научиться играть без фрустрации, нужна как раз такая сложность. Уловка-22.

Несмотря на это, Panzer Corps остаётся выдающейся стратегией. Её тактическая система хорошо сбалансирована и гибко настраивается, процесс затягивает, а огромное количество контента в виде всех дополнений, включенных в Gold-издание, обеспечивает сотни часов геймплея. С технической точки зрения все хорошо — игра работает даже на самых слабых машинах, а текст качественно переведен на русский. Возможность провести ядро армии через всю войну, прокачивая подразделения и модернизируя технику, создает сильную эмоциональную связь — казалось бы, это просто абстрактные фигурки на схематичной карте, но вы помните, что именно этот пехотный юнит достался вам в самом начале на Халхин-Голе и прошёл с вами все четыре года войны, а сейчас берёт последнюю ключевую точку в Берлине.

Это умная, глубокая и невероятно увлекательная игра. Просто она требует от игрока дальновидности, о необходимости которой он узнает, лишь когда становится слишком поздно. Это и есть та самая причина, по которой не получается поставить ей высший балл.

Panzer Corps is a game that evokes both delight and a quiet sense of frustration. This frustration doesn't come from the game's quality, but from your own mistakes — mistakes the game lets you make, only to punish you for them mercilessly later on.

It all starts out friendly enough. You can grasp the rules within a couple of tutorial missions: here are your units, their stats, and a map with forests and rivers. Move your pieces, attack, capture cities. The core mechanics, honed since the classic Panzer General, strike a perfect balance between accessibility and tactical depth. At first, you feel like a strategic genius. Your tanks break through enemy lines, your fighters dominate the skies, and each swift victory brings satisfaction and a valuable resource: Prestige. You eagerly spend it on new tanks and planes, leveraging your technological superiority. After all, outside of cities, infantry doesn't do the heavy lifting, right?

This is precisely where the game sets its trap. It gives no warning that your brilliant summer tactics will be useless in winter, or that maps will become choked with cities, mountains, and forests. The tutorial explains how to play, but not how to think ahead. But the future arrives, and the wall your army crashes into isn't made of enemy divisions, but your own miscalculations. Tanks get bogged down in autumn mud. Your expensive air force is grounded for weeks by bad weather. And when assaulting fortified cities, you discover your prized tanks are terribly inefficient. They get torched from every corner by the very infantry you neglected because they were too slow in the open fields.

That's when it hits you: the campaign wasn't lost here, but five missions ago, when you bet everything on tanks and planes. You have no strong infantry for assaults, no sufficient artillery to suppress defenses. Rebuilding your army is impossible — you have neither the time nor the Prestige.

This feeling — spending 10-20 hours on a campaign only to hit a dead end — is what keeps the game from being perfect. The difficulty doesn't scale smoothly; it jumps. The Sergeant setting teaches you nothing because it forgives every mistake. The Lieutenant demands long-term planning the game does nothing to prepare you for. Not everyone has the motivation to start all over again. You can customize the difficulty, but to understand the settings, you ALREADY need to know how to play. To learn without frustration, you need that balanced difficulty. It's a Catch-22.

Despite this, Panzer Corps remains an outstanding strategy game. Its tactical system is well-balanced, the gameplay is addictive, and the massive amount of content in the Gold edition guarantees hundreds of hours of play. The ability to carry your core army through the entire war, leveling up units and upgrading equipment, creates a strong emotional bond. They may be abstract pieces, but you remember that this specific infantry unit has been with you since Khalkin-Gol for four years of war and is now capturing the final objective in Berlin.

It's a smart, deep, and incredibly engaging game. It just demands a level of foresight you'll only realize you needed when it's already too late. And that is the single reason I can't give it a perfect score.

Panzer Corps ne paye pas de mine pourtant quand on plonge dans celui-ci on comprends à quel point le jeu est profonds. La prouesse de ce jeu est de toujours très bien tourner sur les ordinateurs d'aujourd'hui et ses graphismes pré-rendus sont délicieux . Maintenant il y a son frere Panzer Corps 2 qui peut vous amener à hésiter . A mon humble avis Panzer cORPS 1 offre beaucoup plus d'un point de vu tactique, de plus avec l'édition gold vous aurez accès à une multitude de scénarios s'étendant sur toute la 2de guerre et meme au-dela avec par exemple un scénario sur l'opération Unthincable . Panzer corps et le dernier digne représentant des jeux en HEX accessible au plus grand nombre.

More of a puzzle game with a hex-and-counter war game veneer than a war game, usually. Winning involves determining the proper setup and attack against (generally but not always) passive foes to achieve certain objectives in a set amount of turns. Tons and tons of awesome content. Love all the DLC (Afrika Korps!) although as you can see from my hours I still have a ton of time to go. I previously played this for 15+ hours on GOG but I recommend this Gold version over the original, because you'll probably want the DLC.

I've tried a few times now to get into the DLC campaigns starting with hope, and ending with frustration each time. I've had this game since 2014. More importantly, I've played the OG Panzer General and various expansions for that well before getting this game. The copied campaigns from the original series are great, they operate as expected and do a decent job at what they are, which is modernising an old game. (Note that there now exist many different ways to play the original now with ports/updated files by dedicated fans)

However, this game falls apart once getting into the DLC created by this group. The original game has a sort of charm to it, where you can change the course of history and go on exotic and unique scenarios OR you can continue along the course of history in terms of results. But the unique DLC campaigns(the numbered year ones) for this game follow only Historical results with minimal variance that not only don't change the results(which is fine), but don't even affect scenario to scenario. Worst of all, every DLC slides in the same direction, you fight 3 to 4 times as many units than your own, all of which are elite despite destroying every army tossed at you. AND each unit you fight is overstrength which will commit to suicide attacks to kill one of your units. But, there are scripted events that don't make sense such as troops/planes that teleport in, or even weather events that occur no matter what.

The DLC feels like too much of a departure from the original, it turns battles into boring slog fests where you need to use 3 or 4 units to kill an enemy, but they outnumber you by so much, that you can't move forward unless you have a 'perfect' game(never losing a unit). And even if you do move forward, you end up in the same battles over and over. Outnumbered, outgunned, and nothing new changes. Decisive victories don't change the strength of the enemy, or at least limit how many enemy units to fight. Its like each scenario is just a completely removed from the previous even if on the same battlefield, the results of battle only affect the player, never the enemy that's being faced.

The OG Panzer General feels like a game about optional alternate history, the DLC feels like smashing your head against a brick wall and wondering why the wall is still there.

9/10 for the OG remakes
1/10 for the DLC slop

Obviously this is based upon Panzer General... but, so what... that's a good thing. In fact, it's pretty much Panzer General... well thought out strategies for tanks, infantry, supply, weather... a good challenge for AI. ( Yes, you can read about what the AI does, but figuring out the strategy for yourself is more fun.

Highly recommend AND, I like it better in 2D than 3D, as you get to see the full battlefield in one large strategic map.

Cuando está en oferta puede llegar a estar con un 80% de descuento, lo que lo hace un chollo si tienes en cuenta el inmenso contenido que ofrece la edición Gold. Solo terminar la gran campaña con Alemania, realizando la defensa del Este y luego la del Oeste puede llevarte unas 500-600 horas. Pero también hay campañas con los aliados occidentales, Soviéticos, o más campañas alemanas como el Afrika Corps. Es asombroso cuantas horas de diversión puedes conseguir por un precio ridículo. Si lo ves de oferta no te lo pienses.

Highly unrealistic game mechanics alas .
Capital ships getting sunk by fighters , heavy tanks destroyed by MG or 20mm armed vehicles , planes staying in the same hex without using fuel etc ...
There is far better games from Matrix Games if you're looking for more realistic stuff check their website , for example some Gary Grigsby game :)

Panzer Corps Gold review

I'm not super knowledgeable about war gaming overall so I won't go into too much depth. I just want to say that this is a good TBS-game that I would like to recommend to anyone interested in turn-based strategy that takes place during WW2. There are dozens of campaigns here if you bought DLC as well, with thousands of units, I'd imagine one can play this for 1,000 hours and not be finished with it yet.

Just know that aside from tutorial campaigns... the difficulty is real and the game expects you to gnash your teeth in failure many times before you find a strategy that works. Yes, this is a challenging game but also rewarding.

Sound is fine but doesn't have many sound effects... there are enough though. There is also music but it consists of maybe 2-3 tracks so I recommend muting it and listening to what you want from Youtube.

Graphics are nothing special but are decent enough and for the most part there are no readabiltiy-issues.

Best of all is the nice grognard feeling you get from playing this in your recliner. It is a game that truly rewards strategic thinking. Definitely recommend this if you like strategic challenge and TBS.

Great little game. It's just a very solid war game all around.
There's a good variety of units and the ways they steadily unlock mean you always feel like you have something new to play with in the next battle.
The difficulty balance (at least on standard "Colonel" difficulty) seems perfect. To win "Decisive Victory" you have to move very quickly, as you'd expect with the "Blitzkrieg" doctrine. I've had several wins where I was racing down to the very last turn to achieve the objective, so it's satisfying when you manage to pull it off.

Also a good amount of history and a-historical stuff mixed in. If you're successful enough you can change the course of history, but you can also play a standard historical campaign.

The actual combat is clever, needing you to account for terrain, entrenchment, unit type etc. etc.
The game really encourages you to keep units alive so that they can gain veterancy, which has significant effects, so that's cool.

My only criticism is that a few units feel too weak for their cost. For example, flak AA guns really suck in almost all of the offensive missions because they can only move a measly 1 hex at a time. You can motorise them, but this doesn't really help because they are vulnerable when driving in trucks. Instead you are much better off paying a bit extra to get some fighter planes, which do better damage *and* can move around easily.

This doesn't seem accurate to reality - many flak platforms were mounted on mobile trucks and could fire from them, so they'd be more useful if they had the ability to be more mobile and still fire.

The Flak 88 in particular feels waaaaaayyyyy too weak to me, especially as the game still keeps it as an expensive unit for some reason. In reality it was renowned as both a fearsome AA weapon AND a tank-crushingly powerful dreaded long range anti-armour gun. In this game it's basically okay for shooting down maybe one plane, but otherwise is so slow it never sees engagement. For some reason it utterly sucks against tanks even when deployed in the "ground fire" mode.

Anyway, it basically feels to me like "Tactical Level Hearts of Iron 4" and makes a good addition to the catalogue of anyone who likes WW2 history or strategy games.

For old school gamer's from 70's onward who loved the board game Axis&Allies; onwards to the first iteration of personal computers in the 90's with early war games made by SSI's Panzer General I and II, you'll absolutely love Panzer Corps and it's various campaigns and scenarios.
You'll play it again and again on different difficulties. I continue to come back to it at least once a year. Excellent value and re-playability.
