Unfortunately, this game could use more time in Early Access. It still feels a bit half-baked. I can't tell if they fixed the save game corruption or not--it wasn't in any patch notes, and they still have the workaround pinned. It's still fairly buggy, though; there's a cutscene I can't get past in the library that freezes the game every time.

Some characters end up in inaccessible places, and a lot of the interactions just feel awkward but in a way that doesn't seem intentional. Seems they moved onto a new game, so I'm not confident they're going to address any issues in this one now.

Bought this game then they dumped it and decided to run with the money and not make anymore updates. Game is not in full status, Now they have a new game they want you to buy called Farming Camp. Do not buy. Finish a game before you try making more money. You know real companies put out updates and sell outfits or small dlc to earn money, you guys just gave. Shame on you. Quando comprei (no alpha) tinha grandes expectativas com esse game, e os novos update estavam indo bem... até que do nada a desenvolvedora dropou o projeto que tava começando a engatinhar.

Esse jogo deixa um gosto amargo de "mau acabado/não terminado"
não sei o que houve com o estúdio... mas não recomendo perder tempo com esse game.

I really wish I would have tried this game right after buying it so that I'd be eligible for a refund.

Obviously I didn't get very far, because of one QOL omission - when chopping, mining, etc., you can't just hold down the button and let it work. You have to mash the button repeatedly instead. And the game cycles too slow to keep up with your presses, so only every other one counts. I don't know how a developer could leave such a glaring user hindrance in a game, did they never play it themselves lol?

Warum?
Das Spiel scheint mir nur von kurzer Spieldauer, wieso sollte ich sonst nachdem ich 30 Leute begrüßt habe, schon fast 15% abgeschlossen haben?
Nach einmal reden haben alle direkt halbes Herz Freundschaft aufgebaut?
Außerdem hab ich alleine dafür schon, ja, ich würde sagen, gute 45 min gebraucht, um die überhaupt alle zu finden, weil die "Karte" auch nicht wirklich hilfreich ist.
Die Energie ist nicht wirklich aussagekräftig, man kann nicht absehen, wie viel noch vorhanden ist, bevor man umfällt, weil keine Zahlen angezeigt werden, wie bei anderen Spielen zum Beispiel. (Stadew Valley)
Die Mine ist wirklich winzig. 4 Steine mit Erz? Das soll doch ein Witz sein oder?
Man kann zwar recht schnell Geld mit dem, was herum liegt machen, aber im großen und Ganzen reicht das ja nicht, damit man glücklich mit dem Spiel ist.
Deswegen gebe ich es lieber zurück, bevor ich es doch bereue und mich in den Arsch beiße, weil ich es nicht getan habe.
Für mich erscheint das Spiel nichts zu sein, was ich intensiv spielen wollen würde.

EDIT: Wenn man sich mal die Auszeichnungen anschaut, haben nicht mal 6% aller Spieler alle kennen gelernt. Bedeutet, das Spiel scheint jetzt auch nicht groß der Knüller zu sein.
Lasst lieber die Finger vom Spiel.

Ok so I do like this game but for some reason every time I try to go into my chicken coop the game crashes, the game has a lot of bugs that need to be resolved at some point. So I hope that the creators of the game are still working on it and release a new game patch soon. This game was in early access for a really long time. The game received constant content updates, but stacking bugs caused major performance issues. The developers wiped player save data several times in order to implement patch updates. The game finally seemed playable and stable after the official launch. However, a new bug appeared that caused player's to lose their save data. There have been no patch updates for 3 months, no news from developers on future plans, and no progress on the save data bug. Currently there is no suitable support for the game. I wouldn't advise purchasing the game, until the current issues are resolved.

I played this game for 12 hours but at one point there is a huge bug in the game! :( Everytime you use the Chicken Coop then the full game crashes down and closes itself. I saw multiple people had the same issue and the developers told us that they will fix it, but after 2 months the problem remains. Because of this I wont recommend this game.

[h1] Unplayable [/h1] Multiple restarts with save game data lost. I started when this was still in beta. Had a great time and enjoyed the different aspects. Since the official launch, save game data disappears. I notified them several times, but apparently they are not concerned about the unplayability.

Second issue is the map. Shows which person is in which sector. However, you don't get a specific place and have to run around looking for them. Anytime it rains, the majority stay in their houses, which you can't access.

[spoiler]Third issue is the appearance of the original owner of the farm. Billy lost it cause taxes and lack of motivation to work. This happens with the first week. Suddenly, some of the npcs say you are a thief and your relationship stagnates. You don't even get a chance to establish a friendship before this happens. Just wow on timing. [/spoiler]

Lastly, you can't repair any of the damaged areas on the farm. You are stuck with broken fences and posts. Aesthetically unpleasing.

Overall a broken game with a bad map system, higher level of difficulty, and NOT relaxing at all.

The state the game is in, one would think it was an alpha release, certainly not an official release.
The game is not ready, filled with bugs that make it unplayable.
I do not usually write reviews, even less bad ones, but as of right now, I would suggest you find and buy other games.
I'll try it again once there have been patches and will edit this review accordingly if the game starts being playable.

Был такой потенциал, когда брала ее давно в раннем доступе. А потом куча всего случилось. Обещали возможность завести семью и детей, а теперь фиг вам и никакой романтики даже. Возможно, но маловероятно.
PS:И опять эти типы тушек А и Б вместо пола, которые разрабы заменили в процессе разработки...
PSS: Изначальный разраб ушел, оставив игру на издателя и нового разраба, и тут все пошло по кривой. Даже версия 1.0 не показатель, что игра завершена, ибо перед полноценным релизом была версия 0.11.1

You’ve been dreaming of owning your own farm all of your life. You’ve been saving for years to make this dream a reality. With a little help from your parents, you can finally make this dream of yours a reality. You’ve carefully selected you future home. Orange Town is where your vision will be fulfilled. Orange Season is a farming simulator developed by Innerfire Studios. It is published by SOEDESCO, who are also known for the Adam Venture series. The game has been available in early access for a while now, but has been officially released on the 24th of October.

Orange Town is a cozy little village full of friendly people, and this is where your journey starts. You play as a young person who’s always dreamed of owning a farm, and can finally realize their vision. You initially buy a small plot of land with a modest house already built on it. You can eventually upgrade your house by visiting the carpenter and also expand your land by buying the plot of land that are beside yours. Beside farming your land, you can also mine, fish, raise several animals, and even cook.

There is a big cast of characters, and each of these characters have different quests you can help them with. The first quest you’ll be asked to fulfill, ‘meet your neighbours’, requires you to meet 30 different characters. This quest seems fairly easy and is used in concert with a few other as a tutorial of sorts. However because of the way the map is constructed, it ended up taking me many in-game days to complete. The other introductory quests are pretty straightforward, harvesting five turnips for example. At this time, the game doesn’t offer marriage options. There is still a friendship system where you build up your friendship level with each character by talking to them and offering them gifts. Each character has likes and dislikes to take into account.

In a farming sim a good map is important, and Orange Season’s map is missing many important features which makes finding anything overly complicated. When you open the map, you’ll be presented with many different circles. Each circle is an illustration representing a different area of Orange Town. They are not a good navigation tool. The only information offered on each of these is which characters are in which area, and if they are home or not. It doesn’t show you where they are within this section. Additionally, It doesn’t show any of the main buildings, where they are, or where you are within the area. If you are looking for a specific store or character, good luck finding them. This map is a map in name only and lacks almost all functionality. I really don’t understand why this this choice was made, but it makes the game more complicated than it should be, especially when it comes to the quests.

Visually the game is beautiful. It would be hard not to mention the similarity with Stardew Valley. The colorful look is stunning, and it is what drew me initially to the game. The backgrounds are lovely. Despite the pixelated style, the creators have managed to make detailed environments and characters. However Orange Season is not a Stardew Valley clone, and if this is what you expect you will be sorely disappointed. I had fun playing Orange Season, but it is not in the same league as Stardew Valley.

The controls are your typical WASD navigation, but the action ones can be a little finicky. When you are farming a target will appear around the area you are tilling, but not for watering, planting the seed, or harvesting. It’s the same with foraging. You have to be facing the item you want to pick just right otherwise it won’t work. Personally it didn’t bother me too much, but it might frustrate some players. The mining, fishing, and cooking are straightforward. The fishing is really easy. You simply drop your line in the water where you see the fish’s shadows. Then when you see a ‘!’ appear on top of your character’s head, you click ‘E’ to reel in your line. Most of the time you’ll get a fish, but once in awhile it’ll come up empty. It seems to be randomized.

Despite showing great promise, Orange Season is missing some core features like a functional map, some marriageable characters, and better targeting controls. I still enjoyed my time with this game. If you don’t go in expecting a Stardew Valley 2.0, Orange Season can be a fun way to spend a couple of hours regardless of the issues I mentioned. I think that this game has the potential to become a fan favorite, and I will keep an eye out for updates.

I have had this game for a very long time. I was really excited and loved how the original developers were taking the game. When the map changed, I fell off playing for a little bit because it made me upset, by this time I had easily clocked 100 hours into it. Just this past week I came back to look at it. I had clocked in about 15 hours in the past 3 days so I had unlocked the kitchen along with one chicken, cow, and sheep. Had just gotten to a story quest after the 20x Sugarcane. Only to log on today and not a single previous save is there. Fix the game and put passion in it or this is good as done.

When originally asked if I would recommend this game, I would have said yes. Now? No way in hell.

leider ist dieses spiel nicht zu empfehlen es ist total unfertig und unübersichtlich, man sucht sich einen Wolf nach den Bewohnern da die Karte in meinen Augen keine Karte ist, immer wieder verschwinden Dinge obwohl man ständig Speichert . Man kann nichts selber craften und ich habe bis jetzt nicht raus gefunden ob man ein
großeres Lager oder mehr Truhen bekommen kann und den Rucksack kann man auch nicht vergrößern obwohl

J'aurais tellement du me faire rembourser mon achat, le jeu est PLAT ! Aucune progression, pas de map pour comprendre ou on se déplace même si la map c'est une croix et une boucle a sa droite.
Pas d'upgrade d'outil, aucun, pas d'automatisation des plantation.
Une mine qui a un fond ? on ne nous indique pas les étages et ou l'atteinte du fond.
A chaque fois que vous ramasser une pierre le jeux arrête votre personnage pour vous le montrer putin on s'en fou ! donc imaginer farmer 100 pierres le nombre d’arrêt et de vibration, a oui et pierre qu'il faut trouver dans la map ou attendre leur génération parce que dans la mine on n’obtient pas de cailloux ....
Une a 2 fois par saison la zone de ferme se "régénère" en arbre et mauvaise herbe en poussant génialement DANS vos cultures et la il faut être un as pour les enlever sans enlever vos propres plans qui pousse.
Et récolter prend parfois plus de temps que de les détruire, a la manette, les zone de sélection d'action son super mal gérer que ce soit pour récolter ou pour miner vous tapez souvent a coté.
Les interactions avec les personnages et les quêtes sont PAUVRES ! Ils répètent le même discours jour après jour et par miracle une fois vous tomber sur une cinématique et peu être une quêtes youhouu !
J'ai essayé, 2 saisons complète de 31 jours je suis tellement déçu de mon achat un réel regret.

Franchement restez ou achetez Stardew valley car ce jeu est une perte de temps monumental !

ich liebe pixel-art games und ich liebe farming sims. ich habe auch wirklich versucht, dieses spiel zu mögen, aber es ging nicht. optisch kann ich nicht viel gegen orange season sagen, aber spielerisch hat sich alles irgendwie unfertig und clunky angefühlt. das spiel ging schlussendlich zurück. schade.

This game is genuinely NOT finished. Do not let the v1.0 fool you!

The only good thing about the game, as of me writing this during the 1.0 release, is the art. Characters looks amazing, the UI is clunky but looks really good, and the environments are extremely good looking.

The bad part is pretty much everything else. A quick list:[list]
[*]Animations often times just don't work. Villagers will walk backwards or sideways. Picking up things from the ground or from trees will only sometimes play an animation.
[*]The hitbox for where you can interact is placed in a really weird spot, or something. It's insanely hard to do the farming tasks because where you need to position yourself to interact isn't where you'd expect. (I think this is because the character's height is about 2.5 "blocks" high and I think the interact hitbox is in that .5 range.)
[*]Others have mentioned it, but the economy is just broken right now. Fruit trees respawn on screen transition. With a non-optimal route I can make over $10,000 an in-game day and this is without interacting with any of the farming aspects.
[*]The hundreds of tree scavenging items also brings up an issue with the in-game relationship system, you can give multiple items to people in a day. I managed to max out 3 relationships in 3 in-game days (Solely because I was still trying to make the $10,000 in a day as well.). Also, there's no benefit to the relationship system AT ALL. I have 3 maxed out relationships and I've received nothing for it: no items, no recipes, no events, nothing at all.
[*]Also also, speaking about the relationships. There was a marriage system planned that now seems to have been scrapped, but I came across a line in the game from one of the villagers that said something like, "This is a nice place to grow old. You might even manage to find love here." which is quite the tone-deaf line to leave in.

I haven't followed the development of the game at all despite I buying the game very early into it's development. Others will be able to explain issues with the development and broken promises from the devs better than me, because I just wasn't following that stuff.

There's a lot of issues with this game and features I originally bought this for have fallen through.

Controls are buggy. Targeting with tools and for collecting items is dodgy and you'll end up missing your target regularly.

Transition points between map points don't always work correctly. You'll end up stuck on door frames and have to back up and shift over to try again in some places, usually indoors.

Originally this planned to have romance options and marriage but according to the current devs is no longer included but 'may be' done later as an additional feature.

No real character customization is featured. You can change skin and hair color, but that's all.

Quests aren't completing correctly. The very first meet and greet quest isn't resolving, even though the journal marks 30/30 people met. If it doesn't work from the very first quest then I don't have any confidence in the rest, either.

It's a shame. I bought this ages ago before it was sold to a new team and a lot of the potential I invested in isn't here anymore.

Honestly, this 1.0 release is barely comparable to the beta builds of other cozy farming games. I can't recommend this at all.

while the characters seem unique and lively, and the control are solid, there are a lot of bugs that you can see in just your first few days that bring it down, i've seen sprites flicker, walk in the wrong sprite direction and theres little guide on how to do many things. Its not a bad game, it just feels like a first game and it needs some work

Bought this game years ago during early access. It was promising and pretty. The original developers left along the way and things were downhill from there. The art got a nice re-haul but that's about the only good thing about this full release.
The mechanics are clunky (you not only have to be in range to click something, you have to be facing it head on. Hard to do with this visual style), there's no map and quests are locked behind finding villagers, there's an infinite money glitch that a child could figure out (every time you leave a map area the highly priced forageables resapwn) making farming for money pointless, the dialogue is slim to none, hella bugs remain, etc etc.
I couldnt bring myself to play more than 2 hours of this full release and I can play farming sims all day.

Unless the devs actually start caring and basically rebuild the game, i cannot recommend it.

I cannot recommend this game as it currently stands. I had a blast with it in a previous form during early access (if anyone remembers the mushroom folks in the caves or the witch or the feet on backwards spirit, those were the times) but since the game was overhauled, the quality has tanked.

Mechanically, while I do enjoy having a large backpack first thing in the game, that's pretty much the only positive thing I can say here. There are bugs aplenty, from listing the town blacksmith as one of my animals in my general info tab on the menu, to listing player name as PLAYER NAME and playtime as zero regardless of how long you've played. Many forage items are difficult to tell from the backgrounds, and any forage item on a bush or tree currently respawns each time you enter its area. Hit boxes for gathering are also hit or miss (you know things are rough when successful interaction with a door counts as a good patch).

They've also now put in a town map, and while it does technically show who is in which area, it's also effectively useless as a tool. There is no way of telling whose house is whose in town, because anything that isn't a store isn't labeled with a sign, and the town map doesn't actually show the town. It merely indicates a loaded area. Even with this aid, completing the generic Your First Quest Is To Meet Everyone task takes frustrating in game days to accomplish (and even when you do manage it, there's no notification that pops up or--more damning--no update even to your task info).

Town is also centered around a circular park, which arranges the surrounding houses in a semi-circle that is extremely awkward to navigate given the WASD nature of movement. To make matters even worse, the roofs of the buildings in the foreground block the view of the street when you need to go behind them, causing you and any nearby characters to completely go out of sight. One of the buildings doing the most blocking isn't even a location you can enter, as far as I can tell. Outside of town, if you want to see behind a tree on your farm, your only option is to cut it down.

The writing is also, well, let's just go with unintentionally creepy in places. The florist sounds like she's party of a fairy murder cult, and our own character's opening dialogue sounds like a desperate cry for help (why did we move out here? Why, to feel alive for the first time in our life!).

If I could roll this game back to some of its previous early access forms, I would in a heartbeat.

Do not buy this game. I have many hours in it since I bought it many years ago when it first came out in early access. It has changed for the worse. It is not worth spending your money on. The map is a joke, It does not show where you are, it does not show where shops are or the hours the shops are open. Good luck finding the greeting /meeting the NPC,'s to fulfill your first quest. You can not upgrade your tools, buy additional storage, or even craft simple items like fences or walk ways. Worst farming sim I have ever played. Spend your your money wisely on true farming games like Stardew Valley, Fields of Mistria, or Coral Island.

I bought this game in early access and had high hopes for it, as it did have a lot of potential. I was extremely excited, after years, to hear that the game would finally be out for a full release. It had even looked abandoned at one point, but I held onto my faith that something good was coming (sure was wrong). I thought that was great news that it was being released, as I had assumed a completed game or mostly completed game would be released. Eagerly, as soon as I got home, I updated the game and began to play.
At first, it was okay. Not nearly as great as I was hoping for. The map is just terrible, you can't find anything. The only way to get a layout is to wander around aimlessly and hope to find all of the NPCs, which you must meet as a quest. It took me a few in-game days just to find them all, the map was truly not even a little helpful.
As I progressed, I only found myself more disappointed. The controls are so clunky and the hit boxes so specific that I find the only way to do a lot of activities is to approach what I want to interact with from the side (mostly with the farming controls) and hope that I've lined up right or the action will have no effect whatsoever. At first I just let it go, figuring while it was annoying, I could work with it. Also, forageables respawn as soon as you re-enter an area which takes all difficulty out of the game, as you can easily just keep shipping them to stockpile money quickly.
Soon, I was ready to buy livestock. I went to go buy a chick and a rooster. Upon buying the chick, somehow I ended up also purchasing a sheep. It didn't stop there though, it glitched out during naming since it somehow did this, and now both my chick and my sheep share the same name. Finally. my chick grew up after I had accidentally left it outside overnight (it was time, this part wasn't weird; I just encountered this bug later since I had left the chickens out). I put it away before sending my character to bed, and in the morning, when I tried to enter the coop, the game crashed instantly. I cannot enter it, it crashes to desktop every single time.
It gets worse though! If you look at the bug reports in the discussions forums, a lot of bugs that players are currently experiencing are months old. That's baffling that it's been released before these bugs were addressed. I cannot imagine why a dev would want to release a game without addressing such problems; a lot of bugs reported are capable of preventing you from continuing your current file.
Finally, I am not happy that in early access, marriage and romance were promised. Yet if you look at the discussions forum, the dev has said that they released this game with no romance or marriage. They haven't discussed for sure that it will be added (only that it might be), but quite frankly, I never would have funded this game if I had known that the devs would consider going back on promises. That's just a bad thing to do to your customers and is quite shameful honestly. Should the devs follow through on their promises, and work actively to fix bugs and improve the game, then I will happily rewrite my review in a more positive light. As of right now though, I cannot and will not recommend this game. I am very upset that promises made had no follow through and may not still be followed through with. In fact, I would feel quite scammed if these are not added as that was the main reason for purchasing.

I played this when it was still called Fantasy Farming: Orange Season and developed by Tropical Puppy. It was clunky, incomplete, and buggy back then. Now, at its full release, it still is clunky and buggy. I laugh a defeated laughter.

１．バグ・仕様が詰められていない
ショップでの買い物の際に商品が表示されない
マップがないので村人がどこにいるのかがわからない。にも関わらずしょっちゅう「〇〇にこれを届けろ」と指示される
細かいバグが多く、いちいちプレイのモチベーションが下がる

2.ストーリーラインが気に喰わない
牧場は主人公が競売から購入したという設定だが、数日すると元の持ち主が現れて「ここは俺の物だ泥棒野郎」とののしられ
村の人々も一部がそれを信じてしまうというあまりいい気持ちのしないストーリー。しかも町長からメインクエストとして作物やらなにやらを要求されるが、それがいちいち「この村の為にあなたも努力すべき。するよね？」的な感じで嫌な印象。
しかもたった3回目の時点で羊毛・ミルク・卵を10個ずつと要求してくる。（それまでのクエストラインで貯まったお金では
到底足らない量のコスト投入を要求してくる）

正直、かなり惜しい作品。何年もかけて製品化した割にこの出来映えなのか…と思ってしまいます。

6日目までプレイ。鳥小屋に入ると落ちるようになったため、動物は飼わない方がいいかも。私は買ってしまってるしまた最初からやるのもちょっと・・・ほかにも地図に住民の現在地が表示されなくなったりと大量のバグまみれで、アーリーアクセス抜けてこれはないと思う。せっかく日本語化されるまで寝かせてたけど、修正がくるまではまたライブラリの肥やしになりそう

さらに追加。前日のデータからやり直してニワトリを外に放牧したまま就寝。翌日無事に鳥小屋に入れ、ニワトリを小屋に戻し、もう一度小屋に入ったところやはり落ちました。

Been playing the game a bit and it's a trip down nostalgia lane for me, I learned English through Harvest Moon and these kind of similar cozy farming games make me think about that, the game still has some things that could be fixed; but for now I am enjoying myself.

There is some feedback to the map and the way on how easy it is to make money in the game, but overall I am enjoying my time with it. It isn't stressful to play and you can do a decent beat of work before your stamina runs out.

And while there are quests, you are able to freely progress through purchases from for example the blacksmith where you can automate some of your farming work. Looking forward to what the upcoming QOL patches/updates hold!

I have enjoyed the game so far (nearly 10 hours in) - it isn't a fully polished game and there are things that need to be improved to make it a better player experience, but the Devs seem to be listening to people on the forum. I have experienced 1 glitch so far (complete boot out) which was sad, but I save periodically.

Personally I enjoy the graphics and the music, there seems to be a lot to get to know about the town so I am intrigued to learn more.

I would suggest purchasing this game if you are okay with playing something not quite polished - or perhaps waiting a little while for it to become a bit "cleaner". Honestly, the bad reviews seem a little harsh in my opinon.

O que dizer dele compre 2 dias depois do lançamento dele estive presente em tantas mudanças dele e quando o brasileiro comandava ele era mudanças boas agora, o jogo lançou 1.0 e cara, o que já era ruim pq não esta terminado antes se tornou pior kkkkk, o jogo em si é muito chato de se jogar os diálogos são muito ruim, os menus do jogo nem se fala vc tem a opção de amigos la e não tem nada de background dos personagens na aba de missões vc tbm não consegue clicar não missões especificas, o que falar da mina aonde vc não minera pedra e sim argila ( é argila ), vc precisa de muitas pedras pra fazer as coisas e só consegue quebrando umas pedras espalhadas pelo mapa do mesmo jeito vc precisara pra pegar madeira tbm, esperei muito por esse jogo mais quando passou pra soedesco desandou tudo kkkkkkkkkk, pelo preço que tão pedindo não acho que vale a pena

I have put 500 hours into the game. Back when Hudell was in charge, I would have recommended it to the moon and back. I made a new save and replayed it every time there was an update. Once he stepped down, everything changed. The graphics were improved, but that was about it.

The controls feel terrible to play with. They redid the game on a new engine from the ground up, so the previous fluid controls were replaced with a clunky mess (at least on PC), that makes playing extremely frustrating. They redid the entire town and layout, but did not include a new map. After over six months of having no map, they gave us a 'map' that didn't actually show you where anything was. Do you want to find the blacksmith? Good luck, the map doesn't show where anything is located. If you're lost, you're going to be lost and waste your time.

Marriage, and other core functions of the game are missing. Forageables are everywhere, sell for a good amount, and respawn, so it's an infinite money glitch, making farming and doing much of anything else pointless. The new devs seem passionless about this game, and just wanted to push something out and call it good enough so that they can be done with it and make some money. They don't communicate on their discord or give us any transparency on what's going on, what they're planning for the future (if anything), or why they're making the decisions they've made. Unless they step up, I cannot recommend this game. There are so many, better farming games out there to play instead, whose devs deserve your support.

Edit on Dec 6th: Over a month has passed, and I've seen no communication on either steam or their discord about the missing features in the 1.0 release. There have been a few bug fix patches, but that is all. When are we going to see real improvements? What improvements are going to be made? What missing features that were PROMISED to us when we bought the game, are actually going to be implemented down the line, and when? Communication and action would have been a nice way to try to build back trust with players who used to love the game, but I guess yall couldn't be bothered? I feel so scammed. I would have never bought the game without the guarantee of certain features that were not in the 1.0 release. I wish I qualified for a refund.

Edit on Oct 11th, 2025: Almost a year has passed, and there has, so far, been no effort to add the content that was promised to us. There has been no major improvements, nothing of value added. Only a few bug fixes. Now, they are handing off the future development of this game to another team, with no transparency on who that team is or what content they will be working on. Will we get romance that was promised to us in Early Access? Will we get a functional map that's actually useful? Will we get better tool upgrades and more story? Will we get back the fantasy elements and cultural aspects that drew us in the first place??? Probably not. While this other team is doing mysterious work on Orange Season, the original team has decided to create a new game. Because that worked so well the last time. They've broken trust with me every step of the way, and think they can wipe their hands clean and start over fresh. I wouldn't recommend ANY project that this studio, or team, has or will work on in the future. They've destroyed what I once loved so much, and I have no hope that it will ever be made whole again.

Normalerweise schreibe ich nicht so schnell eine negative Rezension und lasse mir auch nicht so oft ein Produkt zurück erstatten. Aber Orange Season hat mir in den wenigen Minuten schon gezeigt, dass es auf gar keinen Fall ein Spiel für mich werden wird. Umfangreich kann ich die Rezension aufgrund der wenigen Spielzeit nicht machen, aber mich bestätigen die anderen Rezensionen schon darin, dass nicht nur mein erster Eindruck so schlecht ist. Das Spiel wirkt auf jeden Fall nicht wie ein full-release auf mich.
- Die Steuerung ist sehr .. gewöhnungsbedürftig. Ich spiele solche Spiele gerne mit Controller - das anpflanzen der Früchte war eher ein Krampf dabei das Feld zu treffen. Kann man eventuell drüber hinweg sehen also für mich nicht der Hauptgrund eine Rückerstattung zu beantragen.
- Die Dialoge sind furchtbar. Ich bin unsicher, ob es an der deutschen Übersetzung liegt aber es wirkt seelenlos. Möglicherweise hat das Spiel ja mehr Tiefe. Der erste Eindruck im Intro ist aber nun einmal das was zählt (im full-release)
- Hauptgrund für mich es sofort wieder zurück zu erstatten ist, dass es einfach aussieht als würde das Spiel in der Umgebung total laggen. Der Charakter bewegt sich durchgehend normal, aber die Umgebung laggt irgendwie nach und ich habe wirklich keinen schlechten PC. Das macht es für mich tatsächlich unspielbar.
- Die Map ist irgendwie nicht logisch aufgebaut und seltsam unterteilt. Von den 15 Minuten Spielzeit hab ich mich bestimmt 10 Minuten verlaufen. Und ich kenne wirklich sehr viele Spiele, die in die Sparte passen mit vielen unterschiedlichen Arten von Maps, verlaufen hab ich mich aber noch nie und so schnell war ich sonst auch nicht genervt.

Das Spiel muss ja nicht wie Stardew Valley, Fields of Mistria, Coral Island & co. sein, aber eine flüssige Grafik, ein anständiges Intro und ne anständige Steuerung sollten drin sein, damit man dem Spiel wenigstens ne Chance geben kann. Ich hätte dem Spiel auch sicher mehr Chancen gegeben, wenn dies kein full-release gewesen wäre. Das Geld ist mir das Spiel zumindest nicht wert und die komische Umgebungs-laggen-Sache zu anstrengend.
Liebe Entwickler.. Es tut mir wirklich leid eine negative Rezension schreiben zu müssen.

This game look AMAZING when i initially bought it. I joined the publisher discord and everything, That was until I SAW how minimally this game plays. The last "update" before they announced the true release date was back in January for v 0.11. then they announced the released date and after months of people requesting a map be put in they gave us a tiny 0.11.1 update.

I have very little hope for this game not as we went from a 0.11.1 to a full 1.0 release 24 days later.
I tried to get the map to work nothing... its glitchier for me now then when i first bought it during EA in march.

it truly feels this game has been abandoned.

It's still half-done. There's so much missing from this game. (Any form of game balancing being one of them)

A single chicken costs 400 gold an amount that is practically nothing considering I can easily make 3000 from coconuts.
Farming is finicky (it's very easy to accidentally miss when you try to water or harvest a crop) and is completely made redundant by the foragable items (such as coconuts) that sell for a pretty penny.

Foragables such as coconuts, orange trees, and berry bushes respawn every time you enter a map section meaning you can collect endless amounts of coconuts by entering and leaving the beach over and over again.

Thusly money has no real value in this game. Everything you can buy is really cheap (10'000 for the land purchase and a couple thousands for the house upgrades) you can buy most "endgame" upgrades within a week of starting the game.

There is no limit to how many gifts you can give a villager on any given day. I gave Devin roughly 100 oranges in a single day and suddenly he went from a complete stranger to my best friend.

All quests are locked behind finding all NPCs - something I only managed to accomplish by visiting the festivals - no matter how much I hunted them with the in-game "map" I simply couldn't find the last couple people.

This should not be considered a "complete" game and it's not very enjoyable to play. There is no difficulty in anything you want to do and therefore no satisfaction when achieving anything.

i hate to say it but the game has decreased in quality in the last 3 years.

TLDR: it's an underdeveloped mess with glitchy audio and nonsensical controls, if you want a similar (but better) experience play the Stardew Valley Expanded mod

I got the game sometime in 2021 and it was decent with a lot of potential, after coming back I can honestly say it's almost unplayable with bugs that would make me think the game has only been in development for less than a year if I didn't know better. The first thing I noticed was that the audio settings don't change every sound, the sound that plays when you click anything in the main menu is completely unaffected and I had to turn down my computer settings so my ears wouldn't bleed, and after creating a character and loading into the world, everything became a lot louder and I had to re-adjust the settings.

Once I finally got to playing the game I quickly realized that the movement is horrible, everything is too fast and its almost like you're running on ice, which wouldn't be too much of a problem if it wasn't for the fact that all interactions are based on where you're standing instead of where your cursor is, which makes hoeing the ground, planting crops, and watering said crops, an absolute nightmare. not to mention how odd the controls are, i might be nitpicking here but why is the interact button RIGHT-CLICK? At this point, I'm fairly sure the devs are just changing things so it's less like Stardew Valley

I really wish I could enjoy this, I know I did 3 years ago, but for whatever reason it's taken a turn for the worse, and if I could refund it I would. The cute character designs are dragged down by poor writing, and the basic character creator makes me feel like I'm playing as someone else instead of my own person. I hope the devs can bring it back to a playable experience, but at this point, I'd advise you to not spend any money on this game

The concept is cute but so far this game is still only a concept. Ive had this game on my radar for several years so i bought it a while ago when it was on sale(reviews were alright at the time) .... but turns out during that time they were doing a complete overhaul of the game so it was a complete buggy mess that just wasnt very fun to play so i decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and waited....

i waited about a year before trying the game again, opened the dev log and there were multiple updates that made it look like it had substance finally, it had controller support and festivals and seasons so i started a new game with a controller and.... couldn't move at all, couldn't do anything except access menus.
To once again give the benefit of the doubt i tried making a new game again but without a controller plugged in to just use keyboard and mouse, STILL could not move :( BUT this time i could swing what i think was a sickle so i guess that's progress ?

On the last game patch on jan 23rd someone mentions to the devs that they couldnt move while using an xbox controller and the dev's only response was "hi what controller were you using?". i thought that weird so i did a deep dive into comments on patch notes and it turns out the movement bug has existed since probably the dec 1 2022 update and the devs havnt bothered to fix it. the devs were interested in adding content to this game but they wont bother to actually make it playable.

I cannot stress enough DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!! cant believe it's 28.99 cdn regularly
the devs have lost my trust and i hope more people think before falling for it

I last made this review in june, and during october they moved to 1.0 release so I came back to test again

I STILL CANNOT MOVE MY CHARACTER AT ALL AT START!!!! I can cycle through menues but that's it

this game is a joke, don't waste your time
I was laughing at the achievements and seriously only 8.8% of players have earned 1000 coins, only 4.8% of players have met all the towns folk

DONT BOTHER WITH THIS GAME AT ALL IT IS A SCAM

DO NOT buy the game right now if you want to play it right now. You cannot save the game. It is an ongoing issue that the developers are aware of, but its been months and it has still not been fixed.

I tried so hard to play this, but I can barely get two weeks in before I'm forced to make a new file. Not to mention, when I CAN play it, I have to restart the game every thirty minutes just to get it working after it freezes up. It looked so cute, and I was super excited to play, but it's completely unplayable in its current state with the amount of bugs you have to fight through just to finish one day.

Really wish I would've taken the time to check the recommendations before buying, because the "mostly positive" rating this game claims to have is very misleading.

I'm honestly really sad to have to hit the "No" button for this, but in its current state this game is not playable. I'm bummed about it because I feel like there is so much potential and it sounded like such an incredible game, exactly what I was looking for in one of this genre, but was so disappointed not long into playing. I was barely able to get anywhere in the game before ending up with an actual game breaking bug. Considering how quickly it happened, I can only imagine how buggy the rest of the game is and particularly at the price point, when you can't make it even 2 hours into game play before your file becomes impossible to play, it's just not worth it. I get that it's early access, but it's also been in early access since 2017 so I don't have high hopes on that front either. I truly hope this game gets improved upon and bugs get dealt with because this is a game I really wanted and still want to play. Just not in its current state when you can only get so far into it and then it becomes impossible to go forward because a bug breaks the game completely.

You might as well burn the 25$ you would have spent on this game; why you ask?

-Not in any English I’ve ever heard
-irreparably broken and riddled with bugs to the point of being unplayable
-UI is nonsensical
-No Map
-unable to complete quests

I really wish I had just refunded it when I had the chance- I waited to see if they were working on it, but this either has been abandoned a long time ago, or the “improvements and fixes” are little more than trying to save face.

O jogo em si tem potencial..mais infelizmente achei bem mal acabado, sabe parece que falta algo..enjoa rápido demais, a tradução em português foi removida...mais eu joguei ate em live quando tinha a tradução, e serio todos na cidade eram grossos e tóxicos com suas falas, provavelmente por isso removeram, era muito chato interagir e ser mal tratado e julgado o tempo inteiro...plantação demorava uma eternidade pra ficar pronta, os npcs pelo menos quando joguei era difícil de encontrar sem marcação....havia caminhos pra vários lados e a gente andava eternamente, infelizmente acho que era promissor! mais vai ser deixado de lado pelo visto.....incrível como removeram as traduções sem pensar em todos que compraram o game, traduzido tava difícil jogar, sem tradução é O FIM! uma pena.

Bought this quite some time ago and just came back to it as I was going through my library.

Agree with other reviews, its definitely very rough, which is quite surprising for a game that has been out since 2017. I found the controls awkward and gave up right away. Sometimes you can tell when a game isn't going to be fun to play.

As it is still being updated, I will keep an eye out but its currently a big No on my end.

This game just seems really rough. I want to like it, but the controls are so nit picky and clunky. The characters seem bare, and the game gives little direction. I will try this game again in a few months when its more fleshed out, but for now it's just not fun for me.

I played only for one day. First of all, art is beautiful. But it only one nice thing I can tell about this game because it didn't save. Not when I ask it to save nor after the day. As previous people mentioned interactions work only in 50% of cases, when you dancing around the bush to rip it it is becoming a little annoying. Animations are very slow, like opening the doors takes forever. Clicking sounds in dialogues didn't change via a sound menu, they are still very loud. UI is not very great, when you buy seeds it is hard to find its name. When you come inside the barn the window with text is too small.

So I am going to be making this somewhat simple so it's understandable. I bought this game because I was told it be a good game to play, so I did and from thge very start issues after issues and after issues. I lost all my gill meaning money and i had little over 10,000 and loads of ore and when I saved the game it didnt even save my game. The game sent me right back to an old save that had 7 gil and ♥♥♥♥ for nothing. Also mining rocks in the mine total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ not to sure how your suppose to keep playing a game with your not getting rocks but getting more ore then needed. shops don't get me started with that they only sell the crap you don't need and the stuff you mainly mostly cant grow in the right seasons anyways. Like if i knew this game was going to suck so hard I wouldn't have wasted my money buying such a worthless game but I cant get my money back so I am stuck with a pointless worthless game that is trash because the devs don't honestly think about how this is effecting the ones that make the reports about it. and the achievements are not even being given after i did what the requirements are met, like how do the devs not care about there game if they are not going to keep up with updates and stuff like that to fix these issues they left in the game to frustrate a gamer and feeling that a game is so bad they will never play it again and remove it from there play list.. I do NOT RECOMMEND this game to no one because no real updates are being made for this game and i been watching and im sorry to say no wonder why the game is so damn cheap

It's a cute game but glitchy. It says my game is saved but when I go to load it, nothing loads. I exited my house and ended up at the bottom of the farm and unable to move. Please let me know when all the glitches have been resolved and I'll reinstall.

I wanted to get into it, really. I love stardew and in alot of ways, its like that. I know it's early access, but for a game that's been in development/having been released like six years ago- its kind of disappointing. The potential is there, but there bugs make what would've been an enjoyable experience, just frustrating. I should've played the demo first.

As it currently is on September 6 2023, this game is completely unplayable. It does not support a controller whatsoever. I can only move my character with a controller. The game crashes constantly, the interact action works only 50% of the time at best and other actions will freeze the game entirely.
The demo was perfect, How can a demo be better than the game?

*I've played many early access games before. All have been playable and enjoyable. This one is neither.

This game is terrible. I don't know why it gets so many positive reviews. There are spelling errors everywhere, the grammar doesn't make sense (do the devs even know English?), the UI glitches and won't let you select tools at seemingly random intervals, there is no warning system for when your stamina falls too low, you cannot unselect a tool in order to stop accidentally using it, the animations are incredibly slow, there's no announcement for when festivals start, and so many more issues. I have tried to play this game three times and I can never make it past the first day without giving up.

Seems to have a lot of little bugs and glitches that make it very difficult to enjoy playing. The main thing is the inputs don't register half the time. I click to enter a building, or talk to someone and I have to click them like 10 times before it works. Additionally, all the items on each map reload regardless if you already collected them, which seems weird.

Also, the controller support seems wonky. The start/LR triggers and the joystick works but NO INPUT BUTTONS work. Meaning, I can't pick up items with the controller, can't talk to people, can't use anything that the A button should do. As of now, I couldn't recommend this game at the price it is, as much as I want to play it! I'll have to wait until these glitches get fixed.

I can't recommend this game in its current state. It used to at least be playable, but now the controls are absolutely awful and for some reason gamepad support is gone.

If it's too late for you to get a refund, do yourself a favor and go into betas and install the old version. You'll get to see what this game was like before the overhaul that completely ruined it. I can only hope they can manage to get it to a playable state again, but until then I'll be playing the old version for as long as it's still possible. If I play the game at all.

I played 5 minutes of this game and asked for a refund. I am sure the storyline gets better after you get invested in it, but the controls and some of the things that go on during the first few moments of the game just made me feel unattracted.
First of all, I will never understand why everyone in the village will be more attractive than your own character. For some reason farming games always make the main character look like the plainest kid in school. It would be nice to actually have an option to personalize your character more than skin color, gender and hair color...
The controls were weird, I couldn't really tell how to target things to use tools, I just had to click at random and hope it hit the thing I was going for. The hoe tool was glitchy, the watering can I couldn't tell which plot was going to work on, I couldn't tell where the seeds I was planting was going to go... Just little things that from a veteran farming game person are a major oversight for general gameplay enjoyment.
I did not like that the natural items replenish anytime you leave the map. It made me feel like exploring and gathering the items wasn't even worth my time.

On dirait que le jeu est totalement abandonné.
Bourré du bug, impossible d'avancer dans le jeu.
Pour ne citer que quelques pb :
- Le jeu ne garde pas en mémoire le changement de mapping
- Votre avatar se coince dans des murs invisibles
- Les hitbox sont abominables, voir inexistantes (donc vous ne pouvez pas intéragir avec les mobs ou les objets)
- Les objets repop dès le changement de fenetre. C'est sympa, mais bon, ça reste un peu de la triche, surtout quand t'a de l'argent par terre
- La barre d'item bug, les objets disparaissent et impossible de les recup.

Bref, dommage, car le design est vraiment beau, ça avait l'air si doux et si chill.

En espérant que le jeu soit repris plus tard ...

Its very cute, but extremely buggy right now. the turnip seeds disappear out of your bag before you can use them, and there doesnt seem to be a way to unequip tools so you use them every time you go to pick something up. Itll be amazing when its fully released

Such a waste of money, it's like a cheap copy of stardew valley. You're gonna lose your saves, even the music and the art style is not that good. Feeling strongly frustrated after a few minutes playing, it's just so laggy and lazy making.
