Storyline

Abe's epic story explodes in this all new adventure. Oddworld: Soulstorm is an explosive action adventure game complete with crafting, scavenging, platforming, and sneaking. It’s the story of an impossible flight against an opposing force that will use every means at their well-funded disposal, from propaganda to brutal force to deadly violence, to stop Abe and the uprising. You play as Abe, a reluctant hero who inadvertently sparked an uprising and now must lead his fellow Mudokons in their fight for freedom against the Magog Cartel and the planet’s ruling power. Whether he is ready for it or not, the entire fate of the Mudokon species rests on Abe's actions. Accept his destiny and galvanize societal change, or fail and see his entire race eradicated, the choice is in your hands.

In a game where you need to have good karma (quarma) to beat it, there's no option to have individual save files. So you beat a level, realize you're missing people to save, and have no way of going back to a save to rescue more. And they are often really well hidden. Nope, gotta replay the entire level from the start. And I saved a ton of them.

Game has many other problems. Some parts are just insanely hard. You can't go back through some levels once you reach the end to rescue more people (assuming you know it's the end). You get locked out of the final levels if you have bad karma! And again, I saved a ton of them and did a bunch of exploring to find hidden ones! The requirements to beat the game are insane! Some of the platforming involving things you hang on is nearly impossible (double jumping while hanging).

This game seriously lacks polish. It's a shame, because another week or 2 in the cooker and it could have been great. It also lacks much of that Oddworld oddness that I loved in the other 2 games. I'd rather play Munch's with the atrocious early 00's controls that this POS again.

It's been years and old trellis level is still bugged. AI mudokon throwing stuff at nothing, stuck in aggro . I wish i could get a refund. Do not buy this garbage ! It's not Exoddus and if that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiot think this is was exoddus shouldve been ages ago, he's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ moron

It is not exoddus and not even New'n'Tasty, it has some dubious innovations in gameplay (looting and crafting), but if you wanna see the expansion of the Oddworld universe it definitely deserves better rating.
