Суть простая: вбиваешь числа, чтобы получить нужную сумму или решить какой то математический пример, - звучит как домашнее задание за шестой класс, а не развлечение за косарь... Интерфейс такой древний, что, кажется, его рисовали ещё на пейджере: статичные картинки, минимум анимации, будто попал в браузерную игру из 90 х, когда динозавры ходили по Земле, а интернет был через модем. Настройки графики? Разрешение поменять? Ха ха, забудьте - игра смотрит на вас с недоумением, будто вы попросили её спеть оперу. В итоге ощущение такое, будто купил не игру, а электронный блокнот с амбициями, - если уж хочется потренировать мозг, лучше открыть Excel: там хотя бы макросы можно писать, веселее будет!
И если этот обзор наберёт 50 лайков и 10 наград - куплю все дополнения и сыграю 100 часов. Улучшу значок до 5 уровня и схожу в церковь помолиться за разрабов, чтобы они делали только крутые проекты…

Mais je vais être honnête, je crois que je suis trop con, pourtant je suis arrivé à finir des jeux d'énigmes poussées sans soucis, j'ai terminé tous les cube escape, les jeux de rusty lake, ...
mais là.. impossible de finir la grille 2.
Pourtant je sais bien que 2 x 3 = 6 et 5 + 5 = 10
Ou peut être juste que le jeu bug, est mal codé, ou je ne sais quoi...

Odd||Even is a convoluted maths/numbers "game" where you type in integer values to make the sum of those numbers (or various other mathematical operations on those numbers) add up to some target values... and that's all there is to this simple premise with a convoluted and godawfully bad implementation. There's a tutorial but it's incomprehensible as the developer basically didn't bother (but he wants your money, and a lot of it). You can eventually work out how to play, so you can see a green tick appear... it's absolutely a complete waste of time and money. You might as well play around with a calculator, or Microsoft Excel. Heck, Excel had a flight simulator in it, so it already qualified as a better game than this garbage.
From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.
There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision.
The game interface is mostly just text boxes/dialogs and features mostly static, barely animated 2D images, the kind of thing you expect to see in browser/HTML games from the 1990s. While that might be fine for the 1990s, gaming has evolved a lot since then, the ATI Rage became mainstream in 1996... it's 2023, and that kind of thing just won't fly anymore, it's just not visually up to scratch.
The controls can't be customised because the game has such a dumbed down, simplified interface that it's just point and click stuff like a browser/Flash game. The fact that the interface is this dumbed down might be seen as a problem in itself, however... this is a fairly shallow experience if you're the kind of gamer that likes to play games with deep, rich control schemes and interaction. You'll get none of that here.
For gameplay purposes, because the user interface for this game is mostly just 2D static images... it might as well be a browser game. And we all know, Steam isn't here to compete with Chrome and Firefox. If the game can be done in a web browser, it's just not rich or compelling enough to appeal to serious gamers on PC.
These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a very healthy spike in player counts for the game. But this only appears around the same time that trading cards were applied to the game... so this is just card idlers getting their cards and moving on. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards.
Odd||Even has the completely insane price of $20 USD, which is incredibly suspicious, near AAA pricing for what might as well be a HTML browser game.
Why would the "developer" put such a high price tag on something so simple with no true value as a game? There's no direct proof for this, but it's entirely possible this game is priced this way for money laundering or other criminal purposes. Higher prices allow more money to move with fewer transactions. Valve have previously banned developers for running money laundering scams. While there's no direct evidence in this case, it's highly suspicious and gamers should be wary.
This may just be delusion/greed on behalf of the "developer", but their only other game is an asset flip priced at $40 USD, so there's a pattern here, and it's not good. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend.

This game is intensely obtuse, and for some reason heats my comp up more than vastly more complex and graphically intensive games. I don't know how to play because the instructions are so deeply unclear at all times.

This game is bad.
Why? This game will gaslight you into believing you are wrong. You have to figure out the solution the devs came up with, so when your solution that works isn't recognized, it makes you feel stupid rather than smart.
Maybe I am wrong and the game explains why, but the thing is the game explains its mechanics like you should know it, rather than you learning from the tutorial levels (which were pretty boring aside from the sudoku-esque puzzle).
tl;dr: Game mechanics and answers feel forced. I cannot recommend this game as a result.

Да, я обязательно выплыву как привидение из прошлого, она меня точно вспомнит. Даже не так... для того, чтобы вспомнить, надо успеть забыть. А забыть меня... смешно. Это ведь только тут я немного нервное, депрессивное существо, в реальности со мной не бывает скучно, я черпаю энергию из самого общения. )) И заряжаю ею других. Ах, дождь! Да-да, скоро выйду. Возможно, через месяцы... да нет, я не про прогулку, про встречу. Или не выплыву, ещё не знаю. Как думаете, я спросила её номер? Нет. Знала, что не скажет. Вместо этого я дала ей свой, написала на больничной бумажке, таинственная записка с рисунком и прощальной шуткой. Робко вручена перед очередным расставанием у двери. Гарант моей безопасности и символ веры... почему? Догадайтесь? Odd||Even головоломка, тут нужно думать. Ладно, вы наверняка пришли сюда не за тем, чтобы заниматься этим в случайном обзоре. Как, впрочем, и читать о том, что к игре напрямую не относится.
У меня было несколько причин так поступить:
1) это менее навязчиво. Как по мне, предоставить выбор в данном случае лучше, чем мучить человека ещё больше. Отказ всегда имеет эмоциональную отдачу, чаще всего с обеих сторон. И чем ближе человек, тем больнее потом обоим. А тут и она ничего не пообещала, и я узнаю о решении уже в другой отрезок времени и вдали от неё;
2) время для размышлений. Всегда существует вероятность, что даже после озвученного решения человек может передумать. Тем более, если не успел при этом всё взвесить и отталкивался от текущего состояния. Она прагматик высшего порядка, так что вряд ли этот пункт подходит здесь, но... ну а вдруг?
3) иллюзия надежды. Потому что пока это всё ещё возможно. Этот вариант подходит для тех, кто предпочтёт неопределённость озвученному решению, и это как раз именно я: даже спустя месяцы я всё ещё могу ждать. Понятное дело, не сложа руки, и это ощущение будет таять со временем... но внутренне я всегда буду ждать.
4) есть в этом нечто загадочное и душевное, чем просто спросить и... тем более, если при этом скорее всего получишь отказ;
5) подстраховка от несчастного случая. Я эмоциональная личность и часто бываю подвержена депрессивным состояниям. Они могут спровоцировать и без того проблемные суицидальные наклонности. Но эта бумажка, которую она, возможно, уже выбросила (я об этом не знаю), может дать мне немножко времени для того, чтобы успеть прийти в себя. Ну а вдруг она позвонит через пару дней, а меня больше нет? Она же подумает, что я её обманывала, ей станет грустно. Или действительно что-то заподозрит, испытает стресс. А на деле она, возможно, только рада, что избавилась от меня, да и бумажку ту выкинула даже не читая, но я этого не видела и верю в лучшее. А пока верю, продолжаю жить.
На случай, если сюда заглянет разработчик игры: я просто решила, что тут в общем-то не нужно ничего рассказывать, нужно просто играть. А стиль и геймплей приблизительно понятны и безо всяких обзоров.

This game saved my life.
I am 43.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and adopted our son together. They are now both 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I found myself lost and miserable. I was self destructive. I got so mad one day from everything spiralling out of my control that I punched some concrete in a moment of overwhelming emotion. That caused me to break my 5th metacarpal in my right hand... my working hand... my games hand.. the hand that I held and carried my children to bed with.. The hand I desperately needed to make sure I could continue to provide.
After learning of the severity of my self-inflicted damage, I was borderline suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man with no history of depression or anxiety. I have never had fits of rage, or been one to break down and cry, but I was in a low spot that just really buried me from being able to see the light on the other side.
Having nothing better to do, I searched for a game I could play, ONE HANDED while I recovered. I somehow stumbled upon this game and read some of the reviews. I decided that it had to be worth a shot... I must admit, I didn't beat the game, or play nearly as long as some of you. In fact, I may have only played this game a day or two.. With that being said, after doing so, I had a new found joy and hope for life. I was able to put behind me the pain and suffering that had been cast over me. I was able to experience other peoples joy and happiness. I was able to see the fruits of my "labor". I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ minutes to this music long enough to realize that I was going to be okay.
After coming to that realization, I turned the game off, and I went back to work. It hurt my hand like hell but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so damn sorry for myself, and I became the father I needed to be in that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving as.
Today, I am close friend with my kids mother. We don't fight, or argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents, and friends.
I now have 3 kids. My third child is, wait for it, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my own separation, and we just stumbled in to each others life unexpectedly. We have been in a relationship for a year now, and are very happy together.
Moral of the story, you never know what life holds in store for you, and if I would have given up when all the odds were stacked against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

Broken game. It used to work, but now won't load. It ran previously, I don't know what changed. Looked interesting, but interface was very daunting when it did run, leading to 15 minutes of frustration then giving up. Disappointed, it looked like a great concept.

Avoid this game like the plauge. Infact if you want this game, go get the plauge first. The game does not work on most of the machines that I've tried to run it on. The developer I believe has given up on this game, they haven't been on steam for 99 days.
If the developer reads this, if you don't plan on doing anything more with it, can you open source it and place it on github so at least I can attempt to get it to work. I've never even played a single game.

Давайте сразу примем тот факт, что игра подойдет не всем. Если ваш уровень математических знаний невелик, а то и вовсе отсутствует, тогда игра определенно не для вас. Классических головоломок, которые мы привыкли видеть в играх на просторах steam, вы здесь не встретите.
Если вы считаете себя достаточно умным в данной сфере, тогда добро пожаловать. Простой и понятный интерфейс, объяснения и правила, генератор заданий и большое количество данных примеров в кампании ждут вас. Можете проверить свои знания и усвоить для себя новую информацию.

Ein sehr einfaches auf Mathematik basierendes Puzzle.
Es geht darum Zahlen so zu plazieren, dass das Rätsel aufgeht.
Z. B.:
? 2 ? 3 ?
? stehen für leere Felder in denen man eine Zahl einfügen muss während die 2 bzw. 3 vorgegeben sind.
Bei einer Additiven variante muss man also so Zahlen plazieren(in z. B. 0-2 Bereich), dass die vorgebenen Zahlen dazu passen.
Das wäre in obrigen Beispiel dann (1) 2 (1) 3 (2), da die 2 und 3 die Zahlen links und rechts daneben addieren.(Ist zwar nicht im Spiel so, da es rautenförmig abgebildet ist, doch soll dies nur eine Vereinfachung des Prinzips darstellen) Alternativ könnte man aber auch (0) 2 (2) 3 (1) einsetzen, aber beim Auflösen zeigt er, dass dies nicht die gewünschte Lösung sei(also falsch). Spassig ist das ganze nicht, aber immerhin kann man ein wenig mathematisch trainieren.

The tutorial was awful and poorly done. Then once you figured it out in spite of the tutorial the game was very simplistic and just not any fun to play.
Even though I don't like math puzzles, I still wanted to give Odd||Even a try but the simplistic graphics and overly difficult tutorial made me quit. Only recommended for real math lovers.

I was thinking this game looks fun and helps with math. But I was dissapointed by this game. All my playing time is just from menu because there is no way to move on, I have not seen one puzzle! Can't recommend.
Very nice game
This is a puzzle game about numbers, the game has a tutorial which doesn't really tell you what to do. The controls are counter-intuitive and gameplay mechanics are hard to grasp. What makes this game even more boring is full absence of music and sound effects of any kind.

A nice game if you give it a chance. The interface is a big, big mess. The instructions aren't clear either. However, once you finally understand what is going on, it can be pretty fun - if you're into mathematical puzzles.
The best feature is the random puzzle generator, which gives you infinite replay value.
Bottom line: nice puzzles, terrible interface.
Although lackluster in presentation, I'm sure that the puzzle itself is good if you're into that sort of games, and they have even included a complex generator to make more of those for yourself, if you manage to figure out how it works.
Though that complexity is one of its faults actually.
They just give you an unintuitive interface and no actual tutorial or even an explanation on how the puzzle actually works. Instead of those, they throw at you some math problems and wierd code.
And besides all that, while I didn't have any difficulties launching the game, it's worth mentioning that it apparently has problems working with some of the graphics cards (Which is kinda ironic, since this game doesn't have much of actual graphics.) So be wary of that.

Although the hints and instructions are written in the same language as mathematical rulebooks, the game is quite fun. I would happily recommend it to others, but it requires an ok mathematical-language understanding, in order to enjoy it. So although it may not suit everyone, it's fun for those who understand the instructions (but seriously, they should be simplified .....).

Although the idea of the game is interesting, I cannot recommend it. The main cause is that the tutorial is close to non-existent, which makes the game very difficult to learn. There is alot to be improved and polished about it.

The UI needs a lot of work. The game feels incomplete. But it's true that the game essence it all there, it's just not optimized.
It is so challenging and fun to play it! It takes a lot of thought, a lot of effort and sometimes difficult, and I hope it will help a lot of people alive!

Doesnt work, and it appears that the dev team hasnt addressed these issues, despite it being reported since the game was released. This failure to launch appears to affect a wide array of systems and setups.

这是一款很有意思的逻辑游戏，玩法很巧妙，但游戏本身的设计不太好。
首先是有各种各样的不能运行的问题，好像不支持a卡，OpenGL3.1以上的要求也有些显卡不满足，就算你发现你是n卡各项数据也满足要求还是有可能遇到游戏界面没反应的问题，我就是这样，后来是在讨论看了 http://steamcommunity.com/app/455940/discussions/0/350532536096228700/ 这个帖子才解决的，大意就是需要在NVIDIA控制面板为这款游戏设置高配置处理。
而开发者对解决这些运行问题并不热心，也没有想要优化。而且我比较费解的是一款逻辑游戏为什么要那么高的显卡配置要求...总之这种种问题让一部分人没有办法正常游戏，所以决定要买之前最好下载试玩版确定能够运行的了。
除此之外，游戏界面的设计也让人一开始容易迷茫，重要的东西都在不显眼的位置，需要一定的摸索菜单的过程。玩法说明有些啰嗦有些绕，但有些关键的逻辑点上结论又很跳跃。而关卡编辑器并没有教程，我至今没太搞懂怎么用。另外计时设计也是意义不明...
抛除以上缺点，在一段时间的熟悉适应后，逻辑游戏的爱好者相信一定能从中找到乐趣。而且其中也有些数学问题值得思考。比如最少多少的信息能够确定出唯一解，为什么条件对称答案就一定对称之类的问题。
另外游戏中常用的技巧是因为答案唯一，所以什么什么；但从光从条件上并不能直接判断出答案唯一，总感觉在逻辑上有些说不通。只能说游戏本身给所有谜题加了这么一个非必要的额外条件，使得解题简化了吧。
感觉我说的有些跑题，总之这是一款看似简单，玩起来也比较简单，但能启发人思考的游戏。
I got a new laptop, with a recent Intel graphics card in it, so now at least I can play the game. But honestly, I'm not sure it was worth it (a new laptop certainly wouldn't be a price worth paying!). The rules are not particularly well explained, and even once you've got the hang of it, the game isn't much fun.
Oh, and it still doesn't work on AMD graphics cards, even though they've been releasing updates.

Does not work on AMD graphics cards (the unresponsive start screen). Does not work on old Intel graphics cards (crashes as it tries to start). They probably should have made this in Excel to make it more compatible with graphic cards!

Game is currently broken for me. I can open the game but windows comes up and says the program has stopped working and comes up with a close program button. Looks good but would give a better review if i could actually play.

This is a really nice game! I do think it is more about logic and seeing patterns than it is about math. The little math you need to do is adding up numbers up till a sum of 16 :) Every level took me no more than 3 minutes.
Tutorial and tips are very helpfull and eleborate. I only don't get what the pink dotted line means, wasn't explained or I looked past it.. Didn't matter for completing the levels though.
After I finished the campaign, I tried to generate some playing fields of 3x4 and bigger but it keeps telling me it is impossible with whatever option I try. So I don't think there is any replayability to this game unfortunately :(

It's a fun game to play! The game is about solving puzzles with numbers, by adding up 4 numbers to make the awnser in the middle of the 4 numbers. The puzzles get more diffuclt and bigger the further you come in the game, but when you first start the game it is a bit confusing because there is no tutorial or nothing that tells you what to do. After you kinda find out how it works it can be really fun!

as it describe this game is a math and logic based puzzle game. which you can find somthing like on puzzle book magazine. but as i recalled this is unique which cannot find in puzzle book, and if need to pay about 3 buck to play unlimit and generated puzzle yourself.

As Odd||Even stands right now, avoid it.
It is completely unresponsive and the only keys that work as of this writing (7 May 2016) are the Alt+F4 to close it. That's a pity because I was really wanting to play this game - it looks fun.
Save yourself $5 and wait for a fix before you buy the game.
To the devs: once a fix is rolled out, I'll take this down and give you a proper review, okay?
If you have an AMD card and likes to watch a pay to watch wallpaper, that's your game.
