This is probably my favourite game. The levels get progressively more challenging but never feel frustrating (to me at least), with the exception of the last two bonus levels that both cost me multiple hours. I have heard some people had to look up where to find the hidden tetrahedrons, though in my experience they were rather easy to spot (I don't know if it is different in hard mode). The gameplay mostly comes down to timing your moves right. I took my time so my playtime at time of review is exactly one playthrough for someone who doesn't play games like this very often. The sounds and visuals are great and there is a small storyline for a tiny bit of context.

During my playthrough, I've encountered only few bugs, none of which are gamebreaking:
- In one level (I think it was somewhere in world two) the game would sometimes have lags where everything would slow down for a second or two.
- In world 5, I've noticed that the hearts display sometimes shows a lesser amount of hearts and lives than I actually had.
- In the finale, retrying the level or exiting to the world map after a loss both crash the game. It's not that bad though, the progress up until that point is saved.

Octahedron would be great for speedrunners. It has medals for completing each level under certain amounts of time or using only up to a certain amounts of platforms. As a casual player, I have to admit these challenges look too difficult for me, at least after the first few levels.

Overall I'd definitely recommend!

Visually, this game looks very unique among it's peers and thus stands out from the other, boasting a very "funky" aesthetic, and also comes with a fun soundtrack by Chipzel that fits very well the artistic direction.

It somehow manages to almost always offer 1 new gameplay element per level, each level felt different from the others, and they were challenging and quite a blast to play through !

There are a few minor issues, such as the platform sometime being a little too high to feel comfortable to land on them from under (Actually, "climbing up" by creating multiple platform and jumping straight up felt weird in general : might have to do with how short the jumping height is compared to the distance you would have to travel upward in some cases), or how a few amount of introduced gameplay element's mechanic were hard to decipher.
but it's main issue is that the visual effect are so saturated, you would sometime find yourself getting hurt because you couldn't see the threat coming (this is especially true for the few last levels )

But otherwise, I had good time playing it and I don't think I would see a game that has a similar vibe for a while !

The game is gorgeous, really good platformer.
Bur somewhere around 3-6 it stopped working with the controller, only with keyboard.
Which was a dealbreaker for my kid.
I'm actually very sory to not like it and because I didn't have the dexterity to play it myself, but this was my kid's opinion, that it's not worth finishing.

옥타히드론! 재미있게 플레이한 게임입니다.
각 스테이지마다 정해진 개수의 발판을 만들어 가면서 수집할 거리들을 모으고 끝부분에 도달하는 방식으로 이루어져 있습니다. 퍼즐 요소가 들어있기도 하고, 게임 내 사물들이 배경 음악에 맞춰 움직이는 걸 보니 개인적으로 꽤 마음에 들었어요.
배경 음악은 이 게임의 개발자와 슈퍼 헥사곤의 배경 음악을 만든 Chipzel을 포함해 네 사람이 주로 만들었는데(엔딩 삽입곡 제외), 게임을 하면서 들으니 정말 좋았습니다. 한 곡도 빠짐없이 다 마음에 들었습니다.
난이도는 초중반에는 진행에 문제가 전혀 없을 정도로 무난하지만, [spoiler]월드 4 중반부터 월드 5까지[/spoiler]의 구간은 짧지만 상당히 어려워서 애를 먹을 수 있습니다. 이 부분 때문에 중간에 이 게임을 그만두기도 했어요.
또 각 레벨마다 특정 조건을 충족해야 얻을 수 있는 (타임 어택, 발판 수 제한, 노 데스 등) 메달들이 있는데, 다 수집하는 건... 그냥 안 하시는 게 낫습니다.
다소 두서없이 리뷰를 쓰기는 했지만, 제 생각에는 이 게임을 할지 말지 데모를 직접 플레이하시고 판단해보시는 게 제일 좋겠습니다.

So, I played this game way back in 2019 on the Nintendo Switch. Absolutely loved it. Fast forward to November 2024, when I awakened last night around 11:30, could not sleep afterwards so I began perusing through my enormous backlog and Octahedron came into view. With some trepidation (because I remember how this was a very precise and sometimes twitch platformer), I launched the game and played through the entirety of the first world. All the feelings I had in 2019, were accurate. The aesthetic, the controls, the platforming, the music, the level design, all sublime. I cannot comprehend how this game did not get more recognition while under license from “Square Enix” who did, let me remember, umm, zero marketing for this game. It should be noted that the developer, “Demimonde” is highly talented and created one of my favorite platformers of all time, definitely in my top ten. This game comes highly, highly recommended. -9.5/10-LoA-

Bonne découverte !!! acheté en promo à 3/4 euros, bon jeu de plateforme mais la difficulté est trop importante à partir du monde 3 ( sur 5 ou 6 je crois ). Je suis généralement patient mais là je vais abandonner le jeu à cause de sa difficulté. DA et musique au top par contre. Je conseille de le prendre quand il est en promo seulement.

This is one of the best 2d platformers out there. I'm kinda shocked this still has less than 100 reviews right now. I mean this game blasts some serious rope.

The movement and physics are excellent here and there is some nuance and technique that would be well suited to hard precision, though the level design is not really focused on precision. It focuses on flowing well and allowing natural feeling movement and pace, makes it really easy to get into the zone.

Great for speedrunning and there is plenty of stuff for challenge runners as well, every level has speedrun and hitless medals etc.

I don't like these types of games, but I got it in a bundle. Will say you will probably need to change your layout for keyboard and you better like platforms. Has some cool concepts, but I hate replaying levels. Has that weird world map progression where the world is locked until you get so many collectibles and some of these levels have checkpoints to far apart for me.

I finally finished my playthrough. This is easily one of the most difficult but also one of my favourite platformers that I've ever played. I will definitely be coming back to this to finish all of the remaining challenges in each stage. I also love the music and psychedelic visuals here. If you are interested in really difficult platformers, than get this. Get this especially if there's a sale.

At a first glance this might seem like the mechanics and movement is quite simple and not that great. But I can recommend going for all achievements: This game gets more fun the more you play and the easy mechanics is rewarding when doing well.

Playing Octahedron has become one of my go-to options for winding down after a long day at work. I'm a sucker for rhythmic soundtracks, and combined with fun and challenging platforming, it gets me in a sweet comfort zone. Context: I own this game on the Switch, and 100%ed it there. Bought it on Steam too to support the developer (and maybe replay it on Steam Deck some day!).

If you like platformers with tight, snappy controls, this is for you. I was initially wary of the verticality, but the game's move-set turns this from a potential point of frustration into a very fun, enjoyable experience.

This game always keeps you on your toes, and offers incentives to replay and explore levels. I've had a ton of fun playing through it, and can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who likes games that are challenging, but fair.

Octahedron is an amazing game! The music is great and the gameplay feels rewarding. The artstyle together with the music feels kinda psychedelic. I like the different abilities or upgrades that you get. What really got me hooked was the way you could replay all the levels and collect the medals for the different challenges. With every try, I felt I was improving and it was satisfying to progress the game and get better at it.

Wishing there was a neutral option, but leaning more towards not liking this game than liking it, so not recommended will have to do.

Octahedron, has an interesting mechanic where you can create temporary platforms under your character in order to traverse its levels. This builds into the platforming puzzles.

[*]Any given screen is a mess to look at. It is colourful and retro, but not very practical.
[*]First time playing through levels, it is difficult to understand what can and can't kill you. That's fine, trial and error isn't unusual for platformers however this is yet another visual design choice flaw, and you can end up confusing yourself as you progress and more mechanics are introduced
[*]The default keyboard controls are terrible, if you plan to play this make sure to change them. "Control" for jump instead of "space"? "Y" is to change platform type along with "X", have the developers never seen a keyboard before?
[*]Speaking of controls, this character controls poorly, feels sluggish to balance the platform mechanic, and sometimes platforms are created slightly below the character, which doesn't seem like an issue until you try to create a platform and quickly jump, thus not being able to jump due to not being on a surface (this is hell for least time challenges)
[*]Challenges are not too difficult, but the least time challenges are hell. If you want to complete those, good luck, as they are are beyond unbalanced, you must play perfectly, no room for error at all. You will frequently find yourself failing by a few seconds because of this.

The only thing I can say I like is that the gameplay is somewhat interesting, but that's about it... I boot up this game every once in a while, with the intent of getting all the achievements, because that appears to be the most enjoyment I am getting out of this.

One of the best platformers i had the pleasure of discovering in recent years.
If you like neon colors, scifi elements and a bomb soundtrack you owe it to yourself to try this(there is a demo).
The later levels do get challenging but the way everything is interactive, and makes a sound when you hit it really makes up for it and makes every move so so satisfying.

5/5 great game. I beat it at about 10 hours playing with a controller. I love platform games like celeste and donkey kong and I think this is a slower paced platformer game in general. There are a lot of easy and fun puzzles to solve and i didn't need to look up a guide for any levels unlike celeste. This game's difficulty in later levels relies on timing based stuff like spinning and toggling platforms, and there are plenty of enemy types that are fun and make you think about how to work around them while platforming like the bee enemies. There is no invincible cheat mode that i'm aware of like celeste has, but i never got stuck on any level and there are branching paths sometimes so you can skip some levels. There is a "new game + " mode if you beat the game. It would be cool if there was a way to make the platforms look like a 2 or 3 color monochrome type look that a game like downwell has to remove the flashing lights and stuff, but it might ruin the look of this game. I didn't have any problems determining enemy types from the background, and there is an option to turn down the particle effects which i did, and it makes a difference. This game is worth any price and there are lots of levels to complete and bonus modes that add replay-ability to the main game.

跳跳乐小游戏，就是画面不断闪烁闪的眼都花了。

上次boss关弃坑，过了一段时间，终于把boss关通了。
需要不断的跳与创造平台，前面关卡还好，有休息的时间，最后boss关设计的太差了，boss的血量超厚，还需不间断的疯狂往上跳以及避开boss攻击，几分钟高频率狂按两个键，手指都要按废。
总体来说推荐玩玩，最后boss关就别打了。

This game is actually phenomenal. Top tier platformer. It took me some 34 hours to 100% it. I literally just got the final badge, and wow. I am feeling so much dopamine right now it's incredible.
So this game is hard. Well, it can be. Finishing the game normally isn't too bad, a solid medium difficult. But the real challenge comes when you try to get the badge for each level- then it transforms into a whole different, way way harder game (not to mention the other fun challenge achievements). It can be infuriating. The game designer behind this was absolutely brilliant, and it's a shame more people aren't aware of this gem. New obstacles and challenges are presented in such a smooth way, and they're comboed together beautifully as you progress.
I love this game. I also hate it. It made me scream and curse in ways I didn't even know I was capable of. But in the end, I feel peace. If you like platformers, you owe it to yourself to pick this one up.

The first time I played Octahedron I didn’t like it at all. It was boring and way too easy. I closed the game and was ready to leave a negative review.

But I decided to give it a second chance. Therefore, I retried playing it two weeks later. This time it was much more fun. As I had already cleared the first levels, the game got harder, new blocks were added, etc. There is absolutely no story to it, but who cares. It is just a platformer. The more I kept playing, the harder the game got and the more addictive I became.

The art style is epileptic but looks awesome. The soundtrack is really cool and enjoyable too.

13€ is pretty expensive though. I recommend buying it at 7€ (wait for Steam sales).

As much as I wanted to like this game, I cannot bring myself to recommend this to anyone. This game's art style is very nice to look at, but I find it difficult to notice safe platforms from obstacles at times. Also, I can't seem to click with this game's type of difficulty for some reason.

De entrada, uno de los mejores y más originales plataformas que haya jugado. Parte de la premisa de crear tus propias plataformas. "¿Esto no hace el juego muy fácil?" Ahí es donde los niveles brillan, cambiando la tradicional horizontalidad por verticalidad y con zonas increíblemente bien diseñadas, añade cada vez más y más elementos para dar juego al plataformeo y logrando que progresivamente se vayan combinando estos elementos dejando un conjunto espectacular. Early impressions at under an hour (even though it feels like far more than that but not in a bad way): I'm someone who is pretty tired of 2D platformers and sidescrollers as they're an oversaturated market and a dime-a-dozen... That said, this brings some new mechanics and visual pleasures to the table. You create your own rideable platform on the fly to solve environmental puzzles, avoid or deflect enemies, and move ahead. Oh and don't forget to select the next level on the Mario 3 style world map to avoid replaying a level (unless you want to).

Sinceramente no entiendo como este juego pudo pasar tan desapercibido, al menos en Steam.
Yo me enteré de su existencia cuando anunciaron la Transfixed edition para Nintendo Swtich, y desde entonces siempre me dejé como tarea probar el juego y ver que tal.
Lo que me llamó la atención en ese momento fue ver los artistas que componen la banda sonora, principalmente el hecho de que Chipzel haya participado en esto (si un juego tiene soundtrack suyo, automáticamente lo hace bueno xd) así que guiándome por esa lógica estúpida me lo compré en oferta hace relativamente poco.

Es uno de los mejores juegos de plataformas que probé (sin sarcasmo esta vez lmao), fácil de aprender pero complicado de dominar si no te acostumbras a jugarlo seguido. Los controles se pueden configurar a gusto, los que trae son medios raros pero sirven.
La dificultad está super bien puesta, no es como esos juegos plataformeros que se "fuerzan" a ser infernalmente difíciles y así ganar algo de notoriedad, acá la cosa progresa según vas avanzando. Durante los primeros mundos, la dificultad es una papa pero eso va cambiando conforme sigas completando niveles... Ojo, todo sin exagerar con cosas complicadas. Como mucho, el juego te puede poner algunos objetos rodeados de 100000 obstáculos, pero completar el nivel en el que estás siempre es relativamente fácil si prestas atención al entorno y no vas a lo loco. De hecho, si también eso se te dificulta, puedes cambiar a dificultad fácil en cualquier instancia del juego, pero esto imposibilita volver a seleccionar la dificultad NORMAL en esa partida.
Gráficamente hablando, obviamente no ofrece gráficos en 4k de la vida real, es un bendito juego de plataformas en 2d, pero si posee como punto fuerte el hecho de tener una iluminación preciosa y fondos psicodélicos, el cual va cambiando según avances en el nivel o recojas objetos. Flashero a más no poder si no le bajas un poco los gráficos y las opciones de los efectos, pero no te lo recomiendo por que es uno de los principales encantos del juego por así decirlo.
(Jugar esta cosa bajo los efectos de las drogas debe ser una experiencia única xd)

Como dije antes, cuenta con una banda sonora en la que participó Chipzel, pero algo que me sorprendió es que casi TODAS las demás canciones superan las suyas, es un soundtrack precioso y que queda genial puesto dentro del juego. Yo cometí el error de jugarlo sin sonido las primeras veces, así que cuando descubrí la música y los soniditos que tenía quedé fuera de este mundo amiwos míos. 😢
Super recomendado que lo compres en la edición coleccionista, así puedas disfrutar de todas las canciones tranquilamente. Por las dudas, también tiene una página en Bandcamp donde la banda sonora está disponible pero no se si a un precio menor o mayor al de Steam.

Lo de la jugabilidad es seguramente la parte más confusa del juego pero a la vez la más satisfactoria:
Al inicio del juego te explican que te vas a tener que manejar desplegando plataformas para poder subir en el nivel, pasa que dichas plataformas desaparecen a los pocos segundos de colocarlas, y encima dependiendo del nivel en el que estés, puedes poner más o menos plataformas en el escenario, así que eso complica muchísimo las cosas de vez en cuando. ¿Entonces por que carajo digo lo de que esto es una característica satisfactoria? Bueno, al completar cada mundo, se nos desbloquea un tipo de plataforma nueva, con una función MUY específica, que si bien en niveles nuevos puede llegar a complicar muchísimo el gameplay por la cantidad de veces que vas a tener que rotar entre una y otra, cuando juegas mundos viejos con plataformas nuevas, llegas a descubrir secretos y objetos que con una anterior no hubieras podido, y esto es lo que le añade gran parte de la re-jugabilidad a este juego, el resto es gracias a los logros de medallas que trae. En todo lo que llevo jugando no me topé ni un bug ni error respecto a esto, 0 problemas.

Si te gustan los juegos de plataformas esta delicia no puede faltar en tu biblioteca, el precio normal que tiene vale totalmente la pena y más todavía si lo encuentras en oferta (con el simple hecho de ver los gifs en la página de la tienda te das cuenta de la hermosura que es), y bueno, si no te convence nada de esto, ni los trailers, el juego tiene una opción de Demo en la que vas a ver bastante bien de que trata...

Demimonde, si algún día lees esto, quiero que sepas que voy a rezar cada día de mi vida para que tu alma se gane un lugar especial en el paraíso. Te amo.

Броскость графики и куча мерцающих предметов, правда, на любителя, но выглядит стильно.

Есть сюжет. Он очень простой, да и не важный на фоне всего остального.

Уровни хорошо выстроены и работают под ритм музыки на них. Всё проходится быстро и чётко, [i]кроме второй части, которая вызывала у меня странные чувства при виде тех же уровней, но "поломанных". Брр.[/i] Где-то можно встретить срезы, предназначенные для спидранеров [i](Кому-то из разработчиков они, видимо, нравится :3 Достижения у игры тоже на это указывают)[/i]

Подойдёт и людям, которые не любят, когда игра бросает вызов т.к. большинство уровней не большие, в запасе есть несколько жизней, а чекпоинты в большинстве моментов откидывают не далеко.

Disclaimer: My scores/reviews are almost always based on having bought the game at close to the "lowest historical price" on steam at time of purchase.

Things I Disliked:
Lack of diversity visually and maybe a bit too much going on visually in general.
Game would have heavily benefited from doing even just a simple hue shift to differentiate between the different sets of levels. Every level in the game has the exact same visual style with no exceptions. It's not bad as it is, I just would have preferred some more visual diversity.

Trying to rapidly create and jump off of platforms is a bit.......less than ideal IMO. You can for sure get used to it, it just requires that you make sure you only create the platform at either the very top of your jump or as you are falling, otherwise your character will kind of "skip" slightly and wont jump because you were slightly above the platform. This gives the impression of the game not registering your input sometimes.
It adds to the skill required, but personally I would just prefer if creating a platform just immediately stopped your vertical movement and/or anchored you to the platform instantly.

Octahedron is a platformer that strikes a perfect balance between accessibility and difficulty. New mechanics are constantly introduced, keeping the game challenging while preventing it from becoming stale. The core mechanic of the game is that you can create your own platforms, which follow you as you move side to side. It creates an unusual split between horizontal and vertical movement, in which it is easy to move side to side, but difficult to move upwards.

The level design plays off of the movement mechanics almost perfectly. Many hazards either make it difficult for you to effectively create platforms, or require complex choreography to avoid them. There isn't an absurd amount of levels, but each level is well crafted and replayable, which more than makes up for it.

The visuals and audio create a unique experience that I haven't witnessed before in a platformer, or at least not one this good. Stylistically, it is eye-catching, featuring an absurd amount of pulsating neon lights and visual effects, to the point of requiring an epilepsy warning when the game launches. As for the soundtrack, the levels use the music to pace the game, making it feel almost like a rhythm game, but without any explicit rhythm mechanics. Like much of the game, this is an optional element and can be safely ignored if it is too difficult for you or it simply doesn't interest you.

The difficulty settings let you play the game more casually, while the optional challenges allow you to make this a moderately challenging game, or even a nearly impossible one, depending on your personal tastes. One of the best features in Octahedron is the variety of challenges that each correspond to a playstyle. If you like to rush through levels as fast as possible, there is an award for beating certain times on each level. If you prefer to 100% a level and find all the secrets, they have a medal for that. If you want to methodically execute your platforming, you can go for the platform medal, which has a "par" number of platforms you can create. To achieve it, you have to create less than the recommended amount of platforms for the level. This lets you handcraft the type of platformer you want to play, using Octahedron as a framework.

Octahedron is easily one of the best platformers I've played in a while. It's a great game that will appeal to a wide range of platformer fans.

Wonderful platformer, one of the best I ever played. Often frustrating, even Sisyphean. But controls are polished and the game provides enough lives and checkpoints that the challenge is manageable. You also can switch to easy mode, but I didn't feel the need.

im actually very surprised, if this game had been released back when Super Meat Boy released, it wouldve been remembered as a classic, im going to assume most people havent heard of this game or are fed up with 2D platformers, but let me tell you its good, VERY good, good graphics, excellent music, and really fun gameplay, and yet only 13% of people have beat the first level, im going to assume most people got this in a humble bundle and forgot about it, like me, if you have it in your library, play it, if not, buy it if you like 2D platformers

[h1]OCD in game form - nice[/h1]

All those flashy lights, the pumping rythm, the mechanics of "placing a platform below you to surf on" make this OCD in game form. Or was it LSD? Not sure!

I appreciate the efforts and the visuals and music are definitely a nice fit for a nice platformer challenge. It definitely amps up the challenge significantly after your short introduction into the mechanics.

Pinpoint controls and electro soundtrack are nice, the platforming a bit too repetitive for me in the long term.

[b]Recommended[/b] for those who are into finding all those crystals, everyhwere before they can sleep soundly again. Also recommended for fans of electro. It's quite good if you're into that, and it can ease you into a trance rythm for sure while playing.

[b]Not recommended[/b] for people with Epilepsy. Never was a photosenstive seizure warning more justified than here. Also not recommended for people who seriously dislike the track in the trailer. You will get a lot more of these during your gameplay.

Genre:
-Precision Platformer Hybrid

Fit for me:
-My fav genre mixed w/ some action elements, sounds like a perfect fit!

Pros:
-Incredible soundtrack fits perfectly w/ the aesthetic
-The visuals make you feel like you are at an EDM festival completing platforming sections
-Powerups make you feel really powerful as you progress through the game
-Excellent difficulty curve that makes it easy to learn, but really challenging to master
-Lots of collectibles and challenging achievements to unlock
-I got 15 hrs on my first playthrough and I still have Game+ Mode, so a ton of overall content
-The main mechanic of creating a platform works extremely well. The devs found a ton of creative ways to utilize this mechanic, and continually add enemies, environmental hazards, and new mechanics to keep this interesting from start to finish.

Cons:
-There are a bunch of worlds to explore, but visually they all look similar
-Very steep learning curve. It is easy to learn, but it ramps up difficulty really quickly.
-The neon aesthetic has been used several times in recent years for platformers
-The movement feels a little bit slick at first, and may take some time to master

Thoughts:
-Man, this is a fantastic game! Octahedron will be added to my list of very favorite platformers ever. The soundtrack is top notch, there is tons of value here w/ plenty of replayability, and this game is just plain fun. It feels like you are at an EDM festival while solving a platforming puzzle. It's a shame that this game doesn't get as much recognition as other excellent platformers, b/c it deserves it. This is a mechanically solid, precise, creative, and challenging platformer. The aesthetic and soundtrack are really fun, but it's the mechanics and responsiveness that really elevates this one above others in the genre.

Consensus:
-Excellent Game (Tier 2 and makes up 25% of my reviews). If you like EDM music, excellent platformers, or really good indie games, give this one a try!

Octahedron is an ugly retro 2D minimalist neon platformer with a terrible electronic music soundtrack. Control some stick figure with an octahedron head because whatever. This is why developers really need to hire artists.

While there is support for 4K, it's hard to tell because the awful minimalist graphics don't really provide much in the way of discernable expression. Gameplay is pretty bad too. The price tag of $15.50 for a crappy retro platformer is just a joke, but I guess Squeenix thought their brand would let them get away with it. But as the saying goes, their brand doesn't make the game better, the game makes their brand worse.

НО.

Уже на втором мире тебе становится...
нет, не архитрудно
не жоповзрывательно
абсолютно точно - не проще
...а именно ДУШНО.
Да, цена одной ошибки относительно невысока, но при этом она хоть и не бросает нас сразу же играть с самого начала уровня - слишком часто вынуждает повторять уже пройденный успешный кусок снова...и снова... и снова.

Делаешь 10 прыжков, но на последнем не приземляешься успешно? Жаль, конечно. Нет, весь твой труд не насмарку - отнимем одно сердечко...
...и отправим тебя на чекпоинт в 50 метрах ниже. Или ещё лучше - ты сам упал. На такую же глубину. Вот и переигрывай.

Первый час игры я был в абсолютном восторге. Затем кривая интереса стала экспоненциально падать. Не до нуля, конечно. Но игру забросил.

Делайте выводы сами. Или "очередная заброшенная игра в библиотеке, хоть и годная", или "мне уже не нравится, а я всё играю".

This deserves the name "puzzle plattformer". It is neon chic, has a cool soundtrack, that could play in a Cyberpunk bar, and is somewhat hard.
The gimmick that keeps it going is that your octahedron-for-a-head figure can make its own platforms. They don't last long and are limited in number, but regenerate when you stand on something normal and later they get abilities. This leads to some very clever game mechanics. It has some kind of HP-system, so you don't die on one hit (for god's sake thank you!) and even falling into certain death pits just sets you back a bit, but never breaks the flow.
Octahedron is a very fun platformer.
