I can't save the game
The game feels clunky with poor controls, weak graphics, and dull gameplay, making it frustrating rather than fun to play today.
クリアまでやってしまった。
ギリシャ神話ＲＰＧってことでタイタンクエストに似ているのかといえば全く違った。でかいサソリとかクモとかと素朴な戦いをする。グラフィックや戦闘はしょぼくて神話ゲーなのにやることは洞窟からアイテム何個とってこいとかお使いが多い。
スパルタっぽい戦士がパケ写にいるけどそんなグラディエーター感もない。主人公が男女ともに幼い。
最後まで牧歌的な雰囲気。100円以下で買ってクリアして虚無になるタイプのゲーム。
Визуально очень порадовала, множество игр 2022-2025 года имеют графику по хуже, очень жаль что нету Украинского или Русского локализации, в остальном остались только положительные впечатления, сложно к чему-то конкретному придраться насамом деле, поскольку есть разные режимы такие как арена, бонусы от покровительства богов особой роли не играют, хотя иногда могут бить неплохи как бонус в своими особенностями если выбрать стиль игры, это может бить как минусом так и большим плюсом для большинства игроков, сюжет приятный иногда вариативный, что не может не радовать.
Хотя хоть один минус должен бить, модельки повзрослевшего героя после выбора покровителя все они разные, поэтому имеют свой стиль, что иногда может не понравится.

Good game
Dull dialogs, quests just being of fetch/kill variety, tiny area (I didn't bother to play long enough to leave the first island) which still have plenty of invisible walls, boring story, and terrible combat. This is one of the worst RPGs I have ever played. I did play only for a short time, but judging so far as well as from others' reviews, it doesn't get better. Do not waste your money nor time.

I cannot recommend this game to most people with 2 exceptions, first if you are a diehard fan of old rpgs this is for your. And second if you love oldschool rpgs like everquest in their starter to mid zones then this game plays as a singleplayer version of those games. For all others this is sadly a no no.
Pros:
- Beatiful music
- Great monsters design however very few of them in the game sadly
- Decent enviroment, and character models for that time
- No handholding some things you need to figure yourself which is good
Cons:
- Pletora of bugs (random crashes, dead enemies still standing, stuck and clip on terrain)
- Barebones main quest and sidequests with pitiful rewards
- Insane price of any item at the vendor, even with grinding you will not be able to buy almost anything
- Barebones skills barely worth anything, infact as a warrior you can complete most of the game with not using a single skill except quest ones like deflect
- Most bosses are health sponges some do have atleast 1 mehanic but still not good
Only for diehard rpg fans and oldschool mmo players, for others a skip even though it was okay for me i have to be fair and see it from the view of a normal player. Still good luck to the developer.

This game plays great for as old as it is. In fact I would say better then most made in 2009! Fairly simple and not super challenging. If you enjoy a game to relax too, with a good feel for ancient Greece world, then this is your game. I like it and would say the sale price of 2 dollars is good value. Visuals, music and menu all work great. You may get blocks that look black during effects if you have integrated graphics of lower power on your laptop. I had to go into nvidia panel and set it to use my dedicated nvidia card for all to look good. Worked fine on my desktops.

I wanted to give this a Positive but I can't the game play is fun and the world is amazing but its poorly optimized and clunky, and there is a difficulty curve that is unforgiving, I'd give it a 6/10 if Steam had a proper Rating System.

Мне нравятся старые RPG, в своё время я в эту игру не играл, и вот только недавно увидел, как обычно просматривая игры со скидками. Почитав восторженные отзывы решил купить, но игру даже и по скидке покупать не стоит!!! Не буду описывать всё что не зашло, но то что игра вылетает при входе или выходе из подземелья или виснет просто когда открыть инвентарь, самый главный недостаток!!! Система автосохранений сделала 1 автосохранение в самом начале игры, когда нам выдали первый квест и всё, больше незачем! Сохраниться самостоятельно можно только у костра, который ещё и надо найти, а вот загрузиться в меню в любое удобное время, бредовая идея, так как отдыхать у костра нам надо только для восстановления энергии или смены дня на ночь. Но можно выполнить несколько квестов и провести в игре почти час и только тогда нужно будет посидеть у костра, если игра до этого времени не вылетит!
I give this a thumb up, but with some asterisks.
This is a very cheap and cheaply made game, it isnt for everyone, thats for sure. Its very basic, but its got charms to it. If you like little strange rpg's and are okay with low budget jank at times, you will find enjoyment. Combat is simple and very mmo like, as is the gearing and questing. Which works for what it is. Its not too long and is charming enough for me to say to try it if you are like me and enjoy these little indie games.
Fyi, it was WAY better than i thought it would be.
In Griechenland wollen wir zum Helden werden
Wir starten als Junge oder Mädchen auf einer kleinen griechischen Insel und bekommen die unterschiedlichsten Aufträge um uns zu beweisen. Dazu haben wir reichlich Gelegenheit, denn die Insel ist voll von Wölfen, Skorpionen und Spinnen (war ja klar ;-)). Dabei sammeln wir noch Ausrüstung und Geld und skillen unseren Charakter. Die Grafik kann sich dabei sehen lassen und versprüht einen gewissen Charme, die Steuerung mit Maus und Tastatur geht auch recht gut von der Hand. Die Kämpfe sind teilweise etwas monoton und auch die Lauferei von A nach B nimmt doch etwas Zeit in Anspruch (nicht weil die Insel so groß wäre, sondern mehr, weil wir recht langsam laufen). Auch gibt es mal Momente, wo man nicht recht weiß was man tun soll, da nichts auf der Karte erscheint und auch das Questlog leer ist. Aber dennoch ein ganz interessantes Spiel, was mich aber nach einer Stunde auch nicht vom Hocker gerissen hat, obwohl ich es gar nicht genau sagen kann woran es liegt. Das Setting finde ich gut, die Steuerung klappt, die Grafik ist stimmungsvoll... aber irgendwie ist da was, was mich nicht weitermachen lässt - obwohl ich das Gefühl hatte, nur an der Oberfläche gekratzt zu haben. Naja, schaut euch mein Video an, dann gewinnt ihr selbst einen Eindruck von der ersten Stunde.

This isn't for everyone, but it has some redeeming qualities, and it's actually great for what it is.
+The mythological theme is nice.
+The soundtrack is pretty good.
+The gameplay and overall pace is very old school and comfy.
+There's no handholding with quest objectives, you have to figure out where to go and what you have to do.
+The movement and combat is wasd with tab target and a skillbar, very relaxing, almost therapeutic.
+The animations look wonky, but the combat itself actually has some oomph to it and packs a punch (as much as tabtarget combat can at least, definitely feels a little more engaging than vanilla WoW combat, without being too intense.)
The story progression for the first 3 hours of the game is slow but nice. You start out as a kid in an island, playing what is essentially an extended tutorial, but also part of the hero's journey, story-wise. You get to experience the three different classes of warrior-mage-archer, and choose which one you want to play. Each class comes with 3 different gods you can choose from, who further refine the gameplay and and skills you can get, as well as the thematic motif of your character.
After that, you fast forward to the adult version of your character, and embark on a quest to different regions, and go through a lackluster story that's about 15 hours long.
The dialogues are hit and miss, usually on the generic side, and of no particular interest, but if you actually care for the theme of this game and want to like it, they're not so awful that you'll want to skip them.
Other than that, there's different gear that also changes the appearance of your character cosmetically, although it all feels a little archaic, no pun intended.
So, you're probably wondering, "what's wrong about this game?"
Nothing in particular. This game is okay, for what it is. Just rough around the edges. Really rough. If you're into that kind of thing, and looking for comfy old school hidden gems, then give this a try. If you're just interested in the mythological theme, then there's better alternatives out there, such as Apotheon, TitanQuest, Age of Mythology, etc.
The straw that broke the camel's back for me and pretty much made me quit ever wanting to finish this game, was the game breaking bugs. Other than the occasional audio glitch as you hit skills or skills not registering etc, sometimes your character will freeze after a dialogue, and there's nothing you can do other than load up your last save, so pretty much a game freeze, which occurs every half an hour or so. Also I had an actual game crash as well, and that was the end of the ride for me with Numen.
I didn't want to be part of all the negative reviews, and really wanted to like this, because it's actually nice for what it is, but the final verdict has to be a thumbs down. Don't let this deter you from actually giving this a try though, if the redeeming qualities of it sound like something you'd enjoy. I certainly don't regret the time I spent playing this game. The initial experience was nice, but after getting the gist of it, I just don't care for finishing it or playing more of it.

This is the game for people who enjoy atmosphere, delayed gratification, and don't mind realistic lengths of exploration and grinding for experience. I LIKE games where you can't immediately carry or don every item and you keep stronger stuff around while building up equipment and skills every few quests and monster kills. The character has an appearance customized by the gear so you see your armor and weapons change your look.
It's straight forward but there is some depth and it's perfect for someone like me who just wants an open world playground, a sense of progression and challenge, and enough little touches to the environment to show the love for the world.
This is grind-tastic, lengthy, lots of walking and going on fetch quests and kill quests...but if you're someone like me that works out fine.
A lot of people compare this to a single player MMO and that's how it feels, minus the lag and constantly spending money to upgrade your skills and gear. Confession time: I loved Inquisitor and this is like that only set in Greece and in full 3D.
It caters to a certain taste, but that taste in definitely mine and I hope I'm not completely crazy....
It is a good game but it is bugged beyong recognition. I kinda enjoyed playing it but all the bugs make me not recommend this. At the time of review I've had two characters - warrior and mage - and here's what I encountered so far:
-sometimes enemies don't really die and perform their last action even if they were supposed to be dead a few seconds ago; I only had this with warrior and mage had never encountered this bug, it's plain annoying and in some cases it sent me back to the bonfire, making me go and kill all the enemies once again, which was neither fun nor useful since I was getting so little exp from them.
-mage literally cannot cast ring of fire directly on enemies and instead he walks towards them, losing a good part of health as a result of engaging foes with his face instead of doing that with spells, casting that in a middle of a fight may mean you'll just get killed before you do anything as so called hero will just attack with their wand/staff instead of casting this quite powerful AoE;
-all the times I had to simply kill the .exe since it was not responding, and it seemed to happen randomly, with no apparent trigger; have fun repeating everything you had done after the last save point because the game just went "♥♥♥♥ you" mode. Very fun indeed (not at all).
-being able to walk beyond the map with no ways of getting back as the compass starts living its own life and even if you manage to set it some particular way you just can't walk out of beyond the map; only happened once so far in a pirate cave where marissica or what's-her-name-is sends you, that beyond arrogant oracul ♥♥♥♥♥ but cleared my progress of 15 minutes, not cool at all.
Scripts. Sure, you try to create a plot but it is dumb to make everything scripted. First of all, it's the death of a sibling. You talk to them and rush to the cave only to find them coming there before you. Already dumb enough. Then you try to save them (with all the amount of arrogant ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around why would I want to do that in the first place? But there's no choice), and you have to just wait at the bonfire for the day to speak with the healer, then wait for till the night to kill the thing and wait again to turn in the quest to find out it was all in vain. No wonder people die when you just sit and wait at the bonfire duh.
Masarica oracul thing. It is so anoying in its dialogue this alone makes you want to kill her at the spot, not even mentioning all the times she threatens to kill you. Let alone the fact that she was left to live there by the gods; as far as I know greek mythology it would never happen, she would either be annihiated at the spot trying to leave her duty, turned into a helpless animal that would die shortly after or punished in a way more complicated way, probably also given immortality so she could suffer eternally. Yet she's left alone in this cave and talks all kinds of bs to your hero with no option for you to retaliate. Gosh, even if she was made some 500 lvl enemy and would just one-shot you if you try to attack it would've been more pleasant and,surprise, logical than just soak it all up and agree with your pitiful sorry-ass of a "hero'.
The game's rather good but all this bs makes no sence at all, it is a lazy writing, indie progging and no testing at all. As raw as it was released it doesn't deserve any recognition.

This game is pretty dated and the gameplay is not very dynamic.
The concept was somewhat interesting though and seemed to pick up the pace after a few hours.
Then the game crashed while saving.....
I decided to start playing through a ton of my RPG games that have been in my backlog for years and this is the first game I decided to try. I have to be honest with you, this is quite possibly one of the worst games I have ever played in my life.
Numen is basically a WoW clone MMORPG that is purely singleplayer. Sounds great for people who enjoy that tab-targeting style of combat and while I personally don't I decided to give it a shot regardless just to try something new and different. At first I found it to be charming, I love ancient Greek mythology and this game has a lot of cool stuff in it. The starting island is slow, honestly it's too slow but it's a nice introduction to the game regardless, going for a similar setup to Fable where you start your adventuring life out as a child and eventually grow up into a champion of your chosen deity. It sounds good doesn't it? And on paper it's a great idea for an RPG.
There's a lot of cool and interesting systems here - choosing your god, how the game governs your class when you reach adulthood, the chance to participate in arena matches, etc. There IS a good game in here and has tons of things I reckon RPG players will definitely enjoy.
However everything about this game is completely undone by it's truly abysmal and atrocious combat. While I am biased for disliking tab-targeting, I understand why people can enjoy it because I was having a bit of fun to begin with - however even I know this is a horrible example of tab-targeting combat. This is one of those games where every enemy is way more powerful than you, way faster than you, will happily gang up on you and you will get killed over and over and over again.
I have no issue with difficulty, in fact I enjoy hard games when they're fair and exciting or at least thoroughly entertaining but this game's difficulty simply comes down to its RPG mechanics being downright unfair. You can wail on an enemy using up tons of your mana and you will constantly see a message that says "resisted" despite the fact you hit the enemy, blood is clearly being drawn and you sometimes even stagger your opponent but just because of bad RNG you will not deal any damage. This happens often.
And to make things even worse, once you reach adulthood you NEVER resist damage, you almost never parry or dodge because you will simply take hit after hit. Enemies have a shockingly high chance of dealing critical damage, they will frequently stun you over and over, you will get staggered so often you struggle getting a hit in and to top it all off enemies that are around your level are always significantly stronger than you so they're also insanely tough with so much health thus making combat a tedious slog. You cannot fight more than one enemy, it's basically impossible and when you run away enemies will leash with a message saying "evade" and you watch them magically refill their health instantly. While you have to wait a minute before yours comes back.
Melee enemies however are mostly fine and are easy to kite, their attacks can be avoided and they are honestly quite fun, especially with a mage or hunter build but ranged enemies are an absolute shambles. Their attacks will ALWAYS hit you. No matter how much you manoeuvre out the way or use the environment as cover, it never ever works. Their projectiles will always hit you no matter what and to top that off enemies have absurdly long ranges and will happily spam attacks through walls where you can't see them while your ranged attacks are extremely limited and you cannot attack through solid surfaces as the game warns you enemies are out of your line of sight. Just don't even bother dealing with spellcaster enemies, the amount of damage they deal in a single hit is just flabbergasting.
After a while I noticed this game's pattern of bombarding the player with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ difficulty in a vein attempt to add difficulty when in reality the game is just an unfair slog that made me drop it and when it's not hard the enemies are still needlessly tough - banging your head against a difficulty wall or slashing away at boring spongy enemies, either way it's tedium embodied.
I eventually thought to myself, okay maybe this game takes elements from MMOs quite literally so maybe I have to grind. Well yes in order to use the better stuff I do have to grind but despite getting level after level against a camp of tribal desert men, I was not getting any stronger at all. No matter how many levels I gained and no matter how much higher my level was than the enemy, I was still getting absolutely wrecked. Eventually I thought maybe it's equipment based and that sounds like a sensible answer but you get so much gear that your class cannot use, gear that requires more grinding to use and even shop items are so expensive and making money is so slow and boring and my god do you feel the tedium yet? Not only that but loot is just insanely dull and you will never get anything interesting beyond tiny stat boosts.
Getting a new weapon doesn't help because the auto attack absolutely sucks and makes combat even more of a slog than it already is and your skills, your main damage dealing attacks, don't level up or grow more powerful with you. Not only that, elemental attacks don't matter neither - you'd think ice would be useful on desert enemies right? Nope! Same damage as fire. You'd think fire would be great on enemies that reside within ice caverns but NOPE same damage as ice. And not only that, some skills can attack other enemies you don't intent to attack from quite a distance away meaning you aggro more enemies around you and yep you guessed it, you get ganked and killed in seconds.
I wouldn't mind too much about ♥♥♥♥♥♥ combat in an RPG if there was some fun quests, stories, characters and all sorts of things to do and you may have guess this already from all of my complaints so far but NOPE THERE IS NONE. ZERO. IN AN RPG! A ROLEPLAYING GAME! A RUPGUH! THERE IS NONE OF THIS STUFF TO KEEP ME ENGAGED! MMOs and even RPGs from the 80s added quests to get rewards like experience, good loot, fun stories and just some bloody motivation to help break the tedium a bit with some fun writing and characters but this game doesn't have any of that. The only way to level up and get stuff is to just grind the same disgustingly overpowered mobs over and over and my lord I am so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sick of it. It's just grind grind grind kill kill kill with nothing interesting in between. Even the arena combatants are insanely boring and tedious to fight because of their massive damage output and insanely tough defense and they frequently spawn with lowered health bars.
That's all this game is, nothing but combat and fighting the same mobs, dealing with all the same bs, getting constant resists while your enemies crit you over and over again. And that combat isn't even good in the slightest! It's just mashing the number keys to use the same skills over and over getting nowhere fast. Your character doesn't resume auto attacking when you run out of mana, you have to do that manually. Your character doesn't auto retaliate when an enemy attacks you, making you click on them to auto attack manually. And even when you click to attack an enemy or just to simply loot a corpse or treasure chest, your character goes into auto pilot to do what you tell him/her to do except nope they constantly go in directions you do NOT want them to go meaning they'll take the slow path or constantly get stuck on geometry or even worse running up to random enemies you didn't want to aggro meaning you suffer another unfair death.
That said death is thankfully not a huge setback, it just takes you back to the nearest resting place and respawns enemies. As far as I can tell you don't lose any experience or favour with your god, it's a small bit of sympathy for the player but ultimately does nothing to combat this game's overwhelming love for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and awful game design.
Stay FAR away from this ♥♥♥♥!

Numen: Contest of Heroes is a short action RPG from 2010 whose Metacritic score is only slightly higher than its current Steam rating (50%). It often goes on sale for $1.00 or less, which is when I picked it up. Despite the mixed to negative reviews, the mythical Greek atmosphere attracted me enough to take the small risk. I should note that I have a high tolerance for lower-reviewed or lower-quality games; as a little girl, some of my favorite games came out during a great time of innovation for gaming, with hits [i]and[/i] misses ('90s, early '00s), so I tend to like trying games that fail to convince others. Beating these types of games feels like a whole different kind of achievement since so many abandon them.
I'm really glad I played Numen. It's a ridiculously short game, which I didn't expect; I beat the entire game in 15.3 hours, which included completing most side quests and getting lost in the minotaur labyrinth for over an hour. The labyrinth seems to be the most memorable part of the game for most given its difficulty; you are placed in a dark maze without the map function and must get through it, defeat a minotaur, and escape, all without the map. Rather than frustrate me, this only motivated me to make a hand-drawn map and create my first-ever guide for this section of the game, which I will include below in case anyone ever needs it.

Numen's story is generic. The characters aren't memorable, and there aren't many of them to begin with. Numen has a lot of great ideas that aren't implemented to the fullest (gaining your god's favor, tournaments, travel system, etc.). I had no glitches, though the game did crash once, but I had recently saved so it mattered none. It [i]is[/i] a beautiful game, with diverse and interesting locales to traverse. There are three play styles: warrior, archer, and mage. The game told me that whatever I ended up using the most as a child would be my adult class, so I used all three in the first section of the game to see if I could create a hybrid. I couldn't; the game classified me as a warrior and removed my mage/archer abilities, so that was a little disappointing. The game's so short it doesn't end up mattering much, since it doesn't give you time to "miss" other play styles, and you can unlock new abilities for your class all the time given how quick leveling is. I beat the game at level 75 or so, and I have no recollection of leveling up 74 times, so I have no idea if the game starts you out at a higher level or not. Everything in Numen feels like it goes at super speed; you're done with a map in two quests or less, you level up every handful of enemies or so, and awesome loot is dropped so often you never have to pay for equipment at a trader. In many respects, this makes Numen significantly easy. Given Numen's low difficulty (other than the minotaur level [i]and[/i] its battle) and short play time, this game is a perfect choice to play when you feel like exploring/fighting in an RPG game without having to put much effort or thought into it.
Overall, I get why Numen isn't the highest-rated RPG in the world, but that it is rated at 50% baffles me. I think this deserves a 60% or so, and that's around where I would rate it on a scale. I enjoyed it. It was short, allowed me to gawk at gorgeous vistas and explore a little taste of mythical ancient Greece, all without requiring too much of my time. Is Numen worth full price ($7.99 at the time of this review)? Although I got more than the $1/hour of playtime out of it, I would say wait for a sale. Half off? Sure. If it's on sale for $1.00 or less, absolutely! Get it and jump into it when you're feeling a bit lazy but want to play an RPG, particularly if you're forgiving of flawed games. Numen is perfectly competent. I probably won't go back to it, but I enjoyed my time with it.

This game isn't bad, it's just kind of boring. The main plot was okay, but the quests that guided you along through the main story were uninteresting and felt grindy. You can tell they put a lot of work and thought into it. It reminded me a lot of torchlight, just mindless fighting of dungeons and map area.
I did like the monsters looked and the music wasn't bad.

If you except few tiny things inside the game like bugs or that it is slow it can be good game with deep strong rich and long story as a background . I recommend this game for it history and the fact that it is very atmospheric
I like mythology theme but everything else is avarage at best. Numen is pretty slow and gets boring fast. There are many better designed h'n's/aRPG games. Don't waste your time here.

I am playing this game on my twitch stream to demonstrate what bad RPGs are. The game has terrible writing, terrible combat, poor level design, and is all around a bad game. If you are into things like "When the Birds Attack" or other "so bad, it's good" type of games, give this one a shot. Otherwise, if you're looking for a solid indie RPG that would be fun to kill an afternoon with, save your money and look somewhere else.
The Good:
-Ancient Greece mythology theme is pretty cool
-Descent tutorial dialogue boxes
The Bad:
-For an RPG, your character makes no sense and it feels very forced
-The combat system is an MMO combat system in not an MMO
-This game either had no editor for the writing, or was poorly translated from another language; either way, so bad.
-The writing gets bad enough, to where you can even tell the writers gave up when they started saying things like, "Trust us, nothing makes sense right now, you'll get used to it", like they were gaslighting me.
Can't reiterate enough, very bad game, good in a "so bad, it's good way"

A very very difficult game..that require a lot of patience..if you love challenge games then this game is just perfect ..otherwise i dont advise buy it or if you really want try ..have fun what else i can say :D ..you can pick up between a male and female and explore the open world and defeat different enemies that can be a really pain the ass sometimes..but like i said is a very challenging game ..that will require a lot of patience to complete ..have fun and enjoy !
This game is SLOW. The combat is clunky, slow, and ponderously unfun. Your character runs as if wading knee-deep through molasses. Combat is 'hold down the mouse until the enemy dies', with a sprinkling of abilities from an energy pool that only recharges at one of the limited save points. Not awful, but for the sake of your sanity, have something going on to occupy your mind, because there's very little happening on-screen to keep the player engaged.

Первые два часа, когда выбранный герой, будучи ещё ребёнком, бегает по стартовому острову, более-менее терпишь. Как-то закрываешь глаза на дурацкое и дискомфортное управление, на тупые, пафосные и графоманские диалоги (например, вступление вкратце: «тебе уже 12 лет, сынку, вали монстров мочить, а коли не выживешь - не сын ты мне»), да даже на «отвратительные рожи» всех персонажей пытаешься не смотреть косо. И всё в надежде на интересное дальнейшее развитие. Но вот «детство в сапогах» заканчивается, и начинаются суровые трудовые будни стандартной гoвённой RPG.
Подросшего героя, которому до этого без конца совали в рожу всевозможные подсказки, внезапно выбрасывают в полуоткрытый мир на произвол судьбы и дeрьмого геймдизайна. Куда идти и что делать вроде как и намекают, но порой очень туманно. Да даже просто чтобы найти первый портал на новом острове придётся попотеть, ведь хоть как-то обозначить его на встроенной карте (естественно, как и всё остальное, крайне неудобной) никто не удосужился. Обследование локаций также ни к чему хорошему не приводит – постоянно натыкаешься на высокоуровневых мобов. Причём сразу понять, что «туда не ходи» не получится. Так, чтобы только увидеть уровень ближайшей зверушки нужно постоянно применять специальный скилл. И даже это не показатель, так как oneshot влегкую может прилететь от, казалось бы, «одногодки».
И вот тут начинается перелом, а с ним и страдания. В игре зверски замучен и хладнокровно задушен баланс. Так, в своём прохождении, я встал на путь мага. И возможно зря. Потому что часто мои битвы проходили по следующему печальному сценарию. Кастуешь ты такой своё убойное заклинание, а оно внезапно не срабатывает на противнике (поточу что некое абстрактное «сопротивление»!). Причём очень часто не срабатывает. Постоянно, cука, не срабатывает. Судорожно пробуешь применить что-то другое, а в это время враг уже активно грызёт твоё лицо. Пытаешься как-то развернуться и убежать от этого кошмара, но путаешься в отвратном управлении и застреваешь на кочках. Ходом же узнаёшь о новой «потрясающей» механике – если тебе стреляют в спину, то резко повышается вероятность парализующего оглушения и критических попаданий. Бесславно подыхаешь от пары фаерболов под cраку от рядовых мобов.
И, казалось бы, действуй тогда аккуратно, зачищай вражин по одному. Да вот не задача, вклинивается та самая MMO-механика. А это без конца возрождающиеся враги и тупoрылые квесты аля сбегай сюда, вернись ко мне, сбегай туда, вернись ко мне, и всё это через забитые агрессивной фауной локации. И вишенкой на этом всратом торте выступает дегенератская система сохранений, воспользоваться которой можно только у одиноких редких костров, или, что самое потрясающее, после смерти. Доходит до смешного, когда чтобы вернуться к торговцу и сохранится, самое лучшее и простое решение – тупо сдохнуть. За смерть всё равно ничего не отнимают, разве что всё мобьё отреспаунится, но эти и так в итоге новые повылазят.
Ещё можно было бы упомянуть сломанную экономику, лютые баги, вылеты на рабочий стол и прочие «достоинства», но это всё равно что яростно плевать в коровью лепёшку. Возможно, конечно, что кому-то игра придётся и по вкусу. Кто-то вон даже в детстве в неё залипал. Всё-таки видали RPG и похуже. Но тратить своё время на подобное сейчас, когда существует множество отличнейших и просто добротных ролевых игр, просто кощунство.

I played and enjoyed this game when it was first released. I never finished it though. Nearly a decade later and I see this game in my inventory and get a bit nostalgic; so I download and boot it up.
What was wrong with me a decade ago? Was I on drugs? This game is horrible! The controls are bad. Gameplay is old-school MMO based and I never liked old-school MMOs. The story is horrendous! Graphically the game has aged very poorly. It's just a hard pass for me.

It has a hotkey based combat system like old mmos, which feels laggy and unresponsive. The story isn't really engaging mostly because it plays like an mmo from the mid 2000s where everyone jumped on the bandwagon.
Enemies drop a ton of items for other classes and rarely drop something for the one you chose (maybe I was unlucky), so they become useless in your inventory. At one point in the main story, you find yourself 7 levels behind and you have to grind to get on the level for the quest, although leveling is fast, especially when you have good gear in the lategame.
Overall it is not a bad game, but it needed more work on questing, combat and animation.
horrible controls (PS1 era) in action RPG game is not something to recommend. no saves, you need to find save points (campfires) to be able to save. it would be cool game for 1998 but not for 2010, and definitely not for 2019.
Meh it's playable but nothing special, horrible controls and camera work, boring fighting, no voice overs, feel tedious from very beginning and not much giving impression that later could be any better, besides you can make first impression only once
I gave this game two hours of my life, and I spent those two hours trying very hard to not hate it. And I failed really badly at that. I don't remember when I had last actually hated a game, but it had been a while. This thing deserves the hate I'm giving it, though.
The interface is clunky and horrible to operate, the gameplay is boring and without any depth (hold the mouse button down for as long as the fight lasts, and each fight lasts a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ eternity), the story is stupid, etc, etc, etc. I could go on, but why even bother. I don't intend to ever give it any more of my time or patience.
It is a tedious piece of junk. I can scarcely believe this thing was once in my wishlist. If you want a game that seems like this one but is good, I suggest you play Torchlight instead; it does everything this calamity of a "game" does and a lot more, except it does it right.
An rpg with a distinct MMO-blandness to it, but no actual multiplayer. If it were online, it'd be the game you suck it up and play with your friends because they think it's good for some reason. As a fully singleplayer experience, it's, well, pretty much equivalent to playing a bad free MMO on a server with no other people. Weak interface, graphics, story, audio, animation, character customization, pacing, enemy variety, art design...

Controls are tedious and if you pick the melee class, you'll probably end up spamming the same attack from start to finish. I've literally never seen so much depth in an RPG.

Numen é uma curiosidade entre os RPG pela temática grega. O jogo é bem elaborado e a história bastante concisa, apesar de ser pobre. As animações gráficas definitivamente poderiam ser muito melhores. Ainda assim, o jogo evolui de maneira bastante interessante e chega a uma conclusão bastante satisfastória.

本想实验一下能不能使用游侠网的汉化补丁来玩，实验了以后发现不能兼容，依旧是英文。
风格和魔兽世界类似，但是图形做的和前者可就差远了，2010的作品，但脸部特征还是平拍，而且人物间的互动没有语音系统辅助，点开以后就弹冗长的英文提示，比较吃力，提不起玩的兴趣，因为是喜加一包买来的，近乎于免费了，给好评

TLDR: Servicable game. Fantasy Bronze Age helps give it character. Not worth sinking time and money into due to competitors doing the same formula better.
Audiovisually rather pleasant for the release date. Fluid character classes where use of abilities dictate your proficiency at a class over time. Mostly revolves around left mouse button+activation of cooldown. Then grinding loot and using merchants. All pretty standard stuff. Nothing to recommend this over anything more modern however.
Oustanding Issues:
Keys need to be rebinded. O=Character Sheet. WASD does not include left and right strate out of the box.
Game sometimes tabs out and then back in on its own for a split second.

This game would be okay If we were still living in the year 1997. But we don´t, so just walk along.
This game did not play well with my Nvidia drivers I had to re-boot after exiting the game as my screen was all messed up. So for that alone I can't recommed it.
I paid 1.99.. for a game i was NOT expecting to look/play anywhere near as good as this does.. the environments are quite nice and the game play is alot of fun.. TL.. Diablo.. TQ "ish" .. loot.. quests.. its just a solid and fun RPG.
Edit: 26 hours finished game.. i ran into no glitches or bugs myself.

Numen is a game that I respect greatly. It may not be the greatest game in its field, but it truly shines in its ambition to try something unique.
The idea of creating a competition based system between other characters who favor specific gods, and trying to reach an ultimate goal is what grabbed me in the beginning. What stops it from being the best it can be is the inability to weave this narrative into the story in a solid. There will be points of conversation you will have between other characters during your travels, but they do not mean much, and do not carry weight, as the overall mechanic of favor does not influence your character meaningfully.
I think making this a single player adventure is a strange choice, too. It screams for multiplayer functionality, or long-term co-op adventures, but may not have been able to be done by the developer.
On that note, the developer has been amazing in communication and support for their game (at the time of release). Implementing additional challenges and puzzles for players to solve within the world (treasure hunting), gave more of a connection of the world, inspired by the islands of the Aegean Sea.
I wish the story was better. You are able to follow a young child through their life, from humble beginnings to completing an epic quest, but there is something that gets in the way of my investment. Maybe it is the confusing connection between your character's level and their respective age, or maybe it is connection the game has to wanting to be an MMO, because it certainly wants to be one of them.
I only recommend this to those who wish to learn from other's experiences, and how games are made, and who ask critical questions about development. This game is a great example of the potential games can have to be fantastic experiences, but fall short for one reason or another. It is certainly a mixed game, and demands patience from its players (especially when the game crashes and corrupts your save file).

Fun, simple but charming RPG with a Greek mythological theme. THe game is not too deep, and actually plays more like an "offline-MMO" than a true RPG, but offers enough to hold your interest if the game appeals to you. Try it when It's on sale.
[b][i]Numen: Contest of Heroes[/i][/b] is a third-person hack & slash RPG. Having demonstrated enormous courage as a child, you are selected by a Greek God to be its hero and must compete against those of other Gods in order to find the Sickle of Kronos first.
[b]Pros[/b]: You get to pick from a boy or a girl, although can't actually customize your appearance. When beginning the game, you are given the option of using different weapons, and your class is determined by the type you used the most. Your mastery of any weapon comes from using it. Each of the three classes allows you to pick from three different Gods to be the champion of, so the game offers a total of nine sets of spells and powers. There is a large variety of equipment you can find (common, enchanted, rare and unique) and may equip up to 16 at a given time. Some of the items you find are only good for one gender, but can be refitted to your character. Rather than being class-specific, items are attribute-specific, meaning a mage that works strongly enough on its Strength will be able to use that badass sword usually meant for Warriors. Graphics are ok, most textures are pretty good, and each piece of equipment have a different look on your character.
[b]Cons[/b]: The writing is bad: sure, I spotted several typos and even apparent missing words, but the bland story itself is badly written with many mistakes about Greek mythology (example: Neptune is NOT a Greek God), you never actually feel like you're playing in Greece. The game lags and drops in frame rate when looking too far away. Combat is uninteresting, you click on the opponent once and look at the character fight, this game should've been an isometric hack & slash, but that would probably make the tiny size of the maps too obvious, or the comparison to [url=http://store.steampowered.com/app/475150][i]Titan Quest[/i][/url] (a much better Greek mythology RPG) too easy. There is little to no development, interactions with other champions are very limited and fighting them in arena battles is lackluster. The game is short, very few main or side quests, no branching paths, save a few short class-specific quests in the early game. The game itself would be over quickly if you didn't spend that much time grinding for levels, the first few hours of which is so tedious that I almost stopped playing (although the grinding got less annoying a few hours in).
[b]Verdict[/b]: ★★☆☆☆ - Forget it
I've seen worst, but it doesn't excuse [i]Numen: Contest of Heroes[/i] from being an uninteresting game that offers no surprise, no excitement, and no replay value. If you have it in your library AND have the patience to tough it through the boring introductory level, you might as well play through it to get it over with, but I otherwise don't see how I can recommend to someone to purchase this.

Wow! I dont even know where to start! This game is amazing and a massive gem! From the slow and epic combat to the endless running in and out of caves, this game is amazing. I know I only have 9.4 hours, but I finished the main story and it was the best 9,4 hours in my entire life. There are loads of sidequests as well, and óptional areas, so I bet you can squeeze at least 12 more hours out of this masterpiece. If you´re looking for a game that challenges both your patience and your will to live, THIS IS IT RIGHT HERE
Pros:
No control - your character is extremely annoying to control sometimes, which adds to the challenge of the game, making the treat a longer experience.
No surprise - Are you bored and annoyed of all those good storylines with cool events? then play this game! you will literally just stand and fight different mobs for hours and hours.
♥♥♥♥ up everything you see - in just 9 hours, I reached a point where I can literally just go around and 1-hit everything I see! FUN!
Crashes - The game crashed at least 17 times during my playthrough, because of errors. Which was fun, and made reaching each checkpoint much more satisfying
Cons:
The game is simply too good. It´s so good that everything else you play after this will be total ♥♥♥♥.
Too fun. I died from all the fun I had. Especially when I got to run through a huge labyrinth for like 16 minutes, and then discovered I was too low level, and got to run all the way back from there, farm for like 2 hours, run back through maze and then out again.
I wont give this game a score, because I believe this game is so good that it doesnt fit into the current dimensions of scoring, I would like to give it an infinite dimensional score of infinitely large value. perhaps score = lim 1/x^y, where x approaches 0 and y approaches infinity. would be a formula that gives this game it´s score, perhaps the score would be an imaginary number? Who knows because I feel like my entire playthrough of this game was just one amazing dream.

Интересная и необычная RPG в мифологическом стиле! Это конечно же не Готика и не Ведьмак, но всё же проект получился интересным, специфичным и для своей ценовой ниши он очень хорош! Годно!
