Simply wonderful. I hope the developer keeps makng games. Remember to quick save often it has awkward level geometry. If you fall alot check if auto run is on.
Orange potions are usually seeable from afair and not off the beatern path (Exception of Nokkpond), red potions can be in side paths.
Absolute gem of an indie game.
-The low-fidelity, as with most games of this type, works well with the dream-like and scary atmosphere.
-The weapons are varied and fun, and choosing between them makes up a big part of each enemy encounter. But I have to say, the sling grew on me later on, Especially with the burning bag.
-You have a great mix of humor, strangeness and straight-up creepy things. None of them come out of nowhere, paced really well along the story. The underwater sessions were... not my favorite. But the game absolutely nails the atmosphere. Speaking of...
-The atmosphere is absolutely immaculate. The silence, the sound design and the absolute scale of each and every map lends itself to a journey that feels lonely and wondrous. The floating hands and that level of "interaction" you have with the world really works to immerse yourself in it. The NPC's are ugly and strange, in a good manner, acting like folk tale people.
-And the music. The music really ties it all together. Original tracks that make the vistas deep and inspiring, bringing in that solitude that lives in the heart of the wanderer. And fighting themes are bombastic and hectic.
The only downsides I can think of are the strange quirks of the game. Some weird bumps and motions makes you fall. A lot. You will drown. You will splatter on the ground if you are not careful. Some parts are obtuse and confusing, and there is simply no handholding. Bumble around and figure stuff out. But it's nothing that makes a player crazed and locked. It just takes a bit of patience. Except for... Drowned Veins. I didn't like drowned veins. Confusing. Scary and disorienting.
Great game. Give it a try. You won't regret it if you like to step on the weird side of things.
Never once got bored, amazing journey trough wonderfully crafted scenery in a pleasant and nostalgic style that truly communicate the developer vision of nature.

I must admit, for the first two hours or so I was not sold.
Then at a certain point, I was captivated. I played through the game over the course of a few days and when I finished it, I said to myself, "okay, that was pretty great. Solid 8/10"
But sitting on it a few more days, I can't get this game out of my head. It's simply a 10/10, there really is nothing like it.

Visually stunning and fun! Really had a fun time playing it, though I did struggle early on on where I need to go (I should've paid more attention to some door names), but once that hurdle was conquered the rest became a test of skill and I thoroughly enjoyed it

Cons, If you are forgetfull as i am not your game, or youll live with it like i did. You need to save alot. if you love exploring. I saw another review that its hard too save later in the game, and yeah sometimes it is hard but just back up and try saving again. worked wonders for me.

A strong 7/10. Definitely the strongest element to this game is the vibe and ambiance, but it kinda overstayed it's welcome, especially towards the end. If you're looking for around 10 hours of really old school demo-disk quality gameplay with an original esthetic then this is definitely a game for you, especially for the price.

tbh this dev has gained my trust but I can't recommend it because it's honestly way too flawed at this point.
The vibes of the first few areas are honestly great. The graphics look nice, the music is funky and I love that a lot of obscure mythical monsters were depicted in this game that I haven't ever seen depicted anywhere else. Great vibe for germanic mythology enthusiasts.
But the gameplay is really bad and it gets worse the deeper you get into the game. Areas become less inspired, difficulty becomes really annoying, saving becomes buggy (can't save during interactions pops up frequently). By the end, all the bosses are glitching out. I fought the final bosses twice but the game glitched out right before entering the ending cutscene, making me have to do all the final bosses a third time. No, I'm done. Before this I edited my save file and gave myself 10 million health because I honestly wanted it to be over with.
But the dev is capable, they've shown that and even after all of this I WILL be looking forward to what comes next. Sad that this review shows up with a big red thumbs up, all I'm trying to say is that I just can't recommend this one to anyone. Doesn't mean it's all bad.

Northern Journey é um metroidvania de aventura em primeira pessoa (se é que isso existe kkkkk) com uma atmosfera e ambientes vastos e impecáveis, cuja inspiração advém da região da escandinávia. Em relação à gameplay, ela consiste principalmente na exploração de cenário e seus segredos, cujo único ponto negativo talvez seja o seu combate, que é um pouco impreciso e desafiador. Mas nada que venham estragar a experiência. Inesperadamente, esse jogo se tornou meu GOTY de 2021, uma verdadeira obra prima. Recomendo a todos.
Easily up there in my favourite graphics/art of any game... the atmosphere is absolutely amazing and it is just so beautiful. The world feels so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ massive and everything feels real. If you fall from a massive cliff into the ocean, you will reach the ocean. In that sense it might be the most immersive game I've ever played, and even with all that you never really feel lost
The story and "lore" is crack norwegian folklore and a bunch of insane """"magic""" stuff. Definitely feels insane, even though its not that deep its very enjoyable
The gameplay is very good most of the time. Going through sourwood with literal post traumatic stress disorder, stopping and looking through every tree is amazing. And in general the weapon play works well and is very satisfying... On the pre-final boss it can get quite annoying to line up your shots, but once you figure out when to shoot it its not too bad.
Now,... the movement. I do love the jank, and I wouldn't have it any other way... but be ready to be frustrated occasionally lmao. When you jump you dont get any air control, so you will miss jumps quite a lot, falling will be your most common death. At the end of the day its only really frustrating in some late game boss arenas where you can easily fall to your death/into a hazard, most other times you will have quicksave not long before and it just isn't a big deal.
Most likely in my top 10 games of all time, if you love the idea of exploring stunning norwegian scenery and engaging with the going ons of an isolated and completely insane fjord village this game is for you
I loved this game, finished it right around the 10 hour mark and it kept me engaged the whole way through! I found it more entertaining than the half dozen AAA games I played before it, proper good stuff!!
As for looks, the game's scenery is beautiful but the humans in it are beyond ugly. I don't really mind though as I feel like it aids the story and fits the weird world you're in.

Average day in the life of a Nord!
The Story is kinda only here to move you from one area to another, however it is told in a really funny way. The characters are as wild and bizarre as the whole experience with them having exaggerated mannerisms and some really comedic writing.
The Setting has got to be one of the strongest aspects of this title with it taking you through many locations and familiar environments that would be found in Scandinavian countries. I'm also impressed by the level design with paths blending into the environment whilst still being readable as to where the player needs to go. There were some parts (due to its design) where walking kinda felt janky as you would stop on seemingly nothing, but that's more of a nit pick than a major critique.
Visually, it feels personally hand crafted while also being an utter nightmare (in a good way). Performance was solid throughout and I didn't run into any bugs or gliches. The Art Direction is rustic in presentation and is clear that the dev had a certain look and feel he wanted for the game. Some of the vistas that you come across are just jaw dropping and makes the atmosphere so palpable. The nightmare part comes from the way character and especially enemies look. Characters are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ugly and as comedic as their dialog. The enemies are literal nightmare fuel if you have arachnophobia or hate bugs of any kind. It works well for what the game is going for, but it definitely made my skin crawl.
Sound and Audio add a lot to the immersion with the soundtrack being a mix of folk and alien like synths that make the experience other worldly. The Audio design also adds to the atmosphere, but just like the designs of the enemies, it made my skin crawl with how some of them sounded.
In terms of Gameplay, its fun and also a bit janky. Movement is pretty fast for what the game is going for but it felt good to control. However, jumping in this game has lead to me dying a lot more that from being attacked by enemies due to you bouncing off walls. There's a good range of weapons that all have their own unique purpose for different enemies and the crosshair was actually really useful for how different it was. Enemies are pretty standard with them all just running up to the player and dealing damage. This does lead to the scary moments in the game where a spider will just be in your face which always made me jump. The boss fights also follow this rule and the final one annoyed the hell out of me with its arena and how hard it was to hit.
There are two complaints I have about the game which are missions and saving. The game feels the need to hand hold you through entire experience and while I understand the dev wants the player to see everything, I think the experience would have benefitted the player both figuring out things for themselves and exploring what the game has to offer. Finally, there should be an autosave for this game. I cannot count the amount of times that I have died to rivers or fall damage and having to be sent back loosing a good couple of minutes of progress. It can be pretty frustrating and while I do appreciate a quick save, there are moments where the game does not allow for it.
Overall, Northern Journey was an impressive time with some amazing atmosphere, funny writing and disturbing insects!

没玩多久就被一道石墙卡住说没完成任务不能前进，转了一圈没发现新东西就去搜了流程视频，那位up也是在这里卡住，过一会再绕回来就好了，试了一下还真就过去了，很无语。
目前玩下来，探索就是最生硬无聊的兜圈找钥匙，战斗也很无趣，尤其是玩家的投石索得蓄力才能发动攻击，敌人却可以瞬间突脸，怪一多就变得无比恶心。
Игра что то на уровне Babbdi только линейная с полуоткрытым миром, сюжет... я хрен его знает как его описать он крайне не понятный написан таким языком что даже носителю языка(английского) будет крайне трудно понять о чем говорят персонажи и что они от тебя хотят. По классике таких игр нет никаких указателей кроме знаков направления на локации компаса и общей карты без обозначения положения игрока. Визуально игра крайне шумная на текстуры как будто наложили жесткий дисторшн из за чего в закрытых локациях под землей или в зданиях болят глаза, но общая картинка выглядит умопомрачительно приятно, лесные пейзажи гористой местности выглядят фэнтезийно и напоминают Tes:Oblivion и Skyrim (Больше Oblivion), интересен и тот факт что в игре нет освещения (совсем) всё что лицезреет игрок сделано левел дизайнером в ручную без использования каких либо источников света (соответственно в игре нет теней и стоит пасмурная погода). Стрельбу можно описать как ад для нового поколения геймеров потому что присутствует настильность и баллистика снаряда, а местные квесты, упоротые горные тропы с узкими мостиками и количество обрывов окончательно заставят игрока перестать бежать сломя голову. Локации сделаны так что их практически не возможно запомнить т.к. зелень леса смазывает карту восприятия и ты начинаешь путаться в трех соснах (всмысле гектарах леса). Могу добавить что враги убиваются легко часто с одной тычки но это никак не мешает им тебя доставать и бесить своими заходами тебе в спину. Короче подитоживая мне игра зашла своей атмосферой, графикой и бредово фэнтезийным происходящим, кстати про дизайн следует добавить что я ловил сильные вайбы скандинавской и древне русской мифологии в соотношении 40/60 что редко увидишь. Короче игра на 8/10 советую взять лишней игра не будет, как крайне самобытный самородок который не грез купить и поддержать разраба.

This game really is a journey. Feels a bit like Metroid Prime in the sense that you shoot stuff and explore beautiful environments while listening to great music. Not really a Metroidvania in the item-sense, but you do often find shortcuts back that you can unlock. Story has strong folklore vibes, weapons are satisfying, and it's got a good length. The exploration to combat ratio skews way in the combat direction at the end, but feels appropriate. This is a game I won't forget.
A remarkable and unique indie game full of character. I would say "little" indie game, but it took me 12 hours to beat it. During that time I was constantly surprised, amused and horrified - I've heard it described as a "happysad" game and I think that fits. There's nothing else quite like it.

This game is amazing, incredible hidden gem. Let me start with the ambience, this games music and views are ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!! The music is the baseline of fantasy, such whimsical instruments paired with stunning views of Norway. Second, ITS IN NORWAY!! Norwegian nature is incredibly beautiful and fits my vibe. As a Norwegian myself im a sucker for games like this. The pixelated setting is what really gets me going. Its like if zelda and valheim had a kid. I didn't have much problems with this game at all! combat is a little janky but actually really fun. The aiming is incredibly unique and different. The NPC's are quite something but this game is really weird in a good way so thats good. And not to mention norwegian folklore. Norwegian folklore is incredibly diverse with different mythical creatures for example Nokken. Speaking of nokken the games underwater system is AWESOME! A little boring once you do it for a while but most the time its cool as hell! This game is incredibly diverse, nostalgic, and nordic. Definitely reccomend

This game was made by artists. It's got a vision to share despite some less knowledgeable technical sides: UI/UX is somewhat busted and not very good looking and bugs are present... but the gameplay, the level art and the ambience in this game are very unique!
The game is also hard to label, as it's not exactly a boomer shooter, not exactly a kingslike... It's a mix of both and I love that. I absolutely love the Norwegian lore theme and I hope more games are coming from these devs with this theme!
Ah, Northern Journey. A game I wanted to love, but was let down with time and time again.
Let's start with the postives. This game is beautiful, and it's atmosphere is top notch. It blends old school graphics with modern engines in a way that is smooth and appealing (disgusting too) to look at. I could, and did, spend hours just roaming the landscapes taking it all in, listening to the synth soundtrack all the while. It is full of exploration, and creepy characters and interactions. I never quite knew what was going to happen next, as things get quite zany and weird. It also has a strong horror emphasis, something you start experiencing a little bit in with the bugs and dead people attacking you. The story is interesting to start with, and you find yourself drawn into this strange wild land and its inhabitants, wanting to know more, and how you're going to get away from this otherworldy place you've found yourself in. There is a nice variety of maps, where some are wide open spaces with multiple paths tucked around the edges, and others are interwoven mazes, where backtracking and unlocking shortcuts creates a satisfying sense of progression. Others still are more linear, and may include platforming challenges, or finding a hidden key or switch to progress. Every area is unique in its design, and the strong soundtrack adds a lot of character to each location you find yourself in. There are also some fun and unique moments in the game to break up the regular gameplay, such as a section where you dive underwater, and some more later on which I don't wish to spoil.
Unfortunately, that's where the good points end. This game could have been great, if it focused on its strengths and kept things as a tight-knit experience. Unfortunately, it leans heavily into something that it is not: a first person shooter. Simply put, the combat in this game is awkward, and poorly made. At first this isn't too big of an issue, because the enemies are sparse, and there is plenty of spacing for you to wind up your slow attacks. You'll travel around picking up health and ammo laying on the ground, or tucked away in secret corners. But soon enough, the game relentlessly spams enemies in your face, and more often than not you are required to fight them to progress. There are gateways that require a certain number of kills to proceed, and when there are literally 30 enemies all making a bee-line straight towards you, and the game says "take care of this," you quickly realise that the game is amateurish at best in its execution, and downright lazy and offensive at worst. Enemies take multiple hits to take down, and move around sporadicly and jarryingly quickly, making it extremely difficult and frustrating to hit them with your ranged only attacks (there is no melee combat in this game). You'll have to kite them nonstop, effectively running backwards and trying to get your shots off with your slow animations before they can get too close to you, and when they inevitably do, be prepared to either lose a ton of health very quickly or straight up die and have to redo the fight. Again, this isn't really a problem for maybe the first 40-50% of the game, because the enemies are sparse enough that it allows you to use the game's systems effectively. But when the game actively works against you and the very way it is designed with these frustrating, poorly made arenas and boss fights and gauntlets, it just ruins all the atmospheric fun you may have been having up until that point. I pushed myself through the pain of retrying these gauntlets and boss fights, as I really did want to see more of the interesting designs and see where the story goes. But then you get caught on geometry, and the enemies quickly overwhelm you again. And that brings us to another issue: the platforming and walkable terrain. So often you will find yourself walking along a path, and suddenly you get stuck and can't move forward. So you have to jump to get over some one inch invisible ledge, and this can and will kill you in combat situations, as it stops all your speed dead in its tracks. Also, you will slide off of ledges and deadly cliffs, over and over again. The platforming on its own is servicable, but mix in the combat and all of its issues with invisible points on the ground that stop you and slippery slopes leading to instant death, and I'm sure you can see where the frustration comes in. Sadly, the game doesn't let up on these aspects as you progress. Instead, it gets worse and worse, and I eventually had to put the game down in a late game area (Haunted Glacier), unable to stomach any more after yet another gauntlet of enemies attacked me, requiring more painstaking backpeddling, kiting, getting stuck or slipping, and having to retry.
Overall, Northern Journey is a charming but deeply frustrating experience. Keeping in mind that it was made by a solo developer, it deserves high praise and recognition for the hard work and talent that went into making it a reality. But poor gameplay decisions, leaning too strongly into a genre it's really not good at, and janky terrain make this a game that I simply cannot recommend to someone wanting to have a good time. If you are willing to stomach the poorly made combat, maybe you'll find the world endearing enough to carry through to the end, but I simply couldn't do it. A shame.

Why does this have "overwhelmingly positive" reviews I can't say. This is a 1/A game (like there is AAA, AA, A. This is 1/A). It has some minor quality. Despites looking PS1 bad, it at least has a pleasant palette. Music is your cousin chilling on a cheap synth a sunday afternoon. He's into it. Gameplay is essentially walking on low poly ground and being constantly stuck for now reason while managing distances with otherwise uninteresting enemies. There's a setting that is vaguely funny. Games doesn't make itself hated but really has little going for it. All in all feels like okish 2nd year student work from a video game school.
This game is a bad dream. You want it to end but only on your terms. You must reach the end and show those spiders that they wont break your spirit. The world is beautiful as the PS2 era you remember. The enemies are terrifying but you appreciate they die once and once only. There is no respawns in this bad dream. The spiders know it, you know it. Save often. You can do this.
The real journey is the spiders we killed along the way. F*** those spiders.
After about nine hours and finishing the game, I wouldn't know where to begin to explain the Northern Journey experience. It's a first-person adventure game inspired by Scandinavian folklore, with landscapes and music ranging from eerie to mystical, super strange characters, and vibes that overflow from the game.
I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who has an aversion to insects, especially arachnophobes, as the game is full of giant insectoid enemies, and the first-person perspective and insect models gave me the creeps, even though I'm not afraid of bugs.
Apart from that detail, I recommend this game to anyone who wants to have a somewhat delirious experience in a game full of charisma, very unique, and almost indescribable. The games most similar to this one that I can remember right now would be Lunacid or Dread Delusions. This is also a “moody, atmospheric game” in that sense. Check it out if you don't know it, and you'll experience an adventure like no other.
Una delicia en la atmósfera, mapas bellísimos y muy buen diseño de personajes, pero en general la experiencia de aventura tan llena de sorpresas es la que se lleva el premio, no te puedes esperar lo siguiente que te trae.
Incluso aunque no tenga minimapa y las zonas sean extensas, no es abrumador y tiene bastante cosas que encontrar para mejorar la vida o munición.
El combate esta bien, bastantes armas pero es mas metódico en la forma de esquivar enemigos y en tener que preparar cada disparo. En variedad de enemigos? muchos bichos y arañas, aunque hay otros del folklore, tiene su dificultad por sus tamaños y velocidades. Esto lo hace entretenido en la mayoría del tiempo pero en otros llega a ser simplemente frustrante, especialmente los bosses que llegan a sentirse repetitivos o frustrantes.
Mezcla lo mágico, lo cómico y el terror de forma muy interesante y entretenida, bastante único en general y muy bien hecho para ser hecho por una sola persona. Recomendadísimo.
I don't think I've ever played a game that had as strong of a feel of adventure as this one. It genuinely makes you feel like you are going through a Norwegian fairytale, encompassed by memorable sights, environments and stories. If you want a fun experience that will stick with you after you finish it, pick this game up, you won't regret it.
I do not have the best sense of direction in games, but I recall getting lost only once and it was for sure my fault, the game guides you well while still letting you roam pretty freely all things considered.
Everything clicks, the adventure, the combat, the exploration of the hand-crafted world, the immaculate atmosphere and beautiful music, tailor made for each level.
Not much else for me to say without entering spoiler territory, but this is absolutely a hidden gem that I highly recommend anyone to pick up.

Take your sweet time with this magical game. You can only play it for the first time once.
Great atmosphere and the landscapes are very evocative. The only (major) issue with this game is the mobility: you frequently get stuck on rocks or walls randomly, and jumping is not responsive at all. Extremely frustrating.
Btw, go play Goldenheart, in my opinion, a superior game.
i really enjoyed the first half of this game. the worlbuilding and atmosphere is superb, but unfortunately after sourwood (about halfway) the game takes a sharp dip in quality. the first handful of areas are extremely interconnected with much to do, but after sourwood it is essentially a straight shot through multiple practically straight line areas. the bosses also become pretty repetitive, with the later ones giving you dedicated weapons that never run out of ammo. in addition, there is health scattered all over the boss rooms, so really all you do is run back and forth between potions clicking LMB until the boss dies. Darkthroat and Granite Gash are great areas that I would have loved to spend more time in (aside from the troll catapult section) but the final two areas are pretty miserable, especially Haunted Glacier. the game essentially swarms you with enemies on narrow platforms. It isnt necessarily hard, just uninteresting. and especially strange since the enemies until these final few areas have been bugs, but now they are spirits for whatever reason. overall a great first half of a game, and I wish there was more time spent on the second half.
Really really really cool game. The biggest strength here is absolutely the environments, absolutely beautiful from the massive open cliffside down to the smaller cramped caves every area is super memorable. Complimented with great sound design and a super interesting soundtrack this game feels like no other. The combat is not the best here, not that its bad it just sometimes doesn't exactly fit together, but the satisfying *THUNK* with every rock thrown mostly makes up for it. It does lean a little too far into the combat in the latter parts of the game, but still I'd absolutely reccomend it for anyone willing to deal with a little jank. I love strange, unique, imperfect games and this is a pristine example of that!!!

Its rare to come across a game as inspired and as original as this, in the sea of ai slop and cod clones, this stands out. Took me around 10 hours to beat this game and frankly for the price it was very worth it. The atmosphere was great, altough I think the dev has a thing for Bugs and other crawly critters, ♥♥♥♥ is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up if you have arachnophobia. I am also like 95% sure the dev was on smth while making this, for the better frankly, very aetherial and psychedelic experience, would crap my pants while being eaten by hunstman spiders again. 8/10

A delightfully strange and unique game. Environments are heavily varied and fun to explore, combat is delightfully frantic, and the weapons feel good to use. It can be rough figuring out the range and projectile drop of each weapon, especially against small moving targets, but the game is generous enough with health and ammo that unless you’re truly going out of your way to miss you’ll be fine. Some of the progression is a bit too linear/prescribed and so there were a few instances where I got stuck for a while looking for a door I’d walked past several times but could no longer find, but for the most part it’s always clear where to go and what to do when you’re there.
There’s some jank; I fell off cliffs often, it’s easy to get stuck on geometry, and the lack of i-frames means you can get shredded very easily. But, the game warns you to quicksave often and I never felt the situation was truly unfair. The only real black mark on the game was right near the end where a prolonged series of diving sections completely annihilated the pacing as I slowly swam through identical caves with no challenge or enemies. That being said, there’s a lot of things this game sacrifices for atmosphere and for some that might be their favorite part.
If the game looks at all interesting to you or you’ve played other similarly strange first-person games like Zeno Clash or The Axis Unseen, I can’t recommend this highly enough.
I'm not sure if 'idiosyncratic' describes the art style best, but it's certainly unique; in a good way! Easy recommendation for me.
Stuff that I've seen in these woods, you wouldn't believe it. This is one hell of a unique and memorable journey. Quests and characters are weird in all the good ways, locations are varied and beautiful, music is moody, all of it coming together to create a very special atmosphere. And gameplay is excellent too. There are many different mechanics throughout the game, each pretty simple on its own, but together making the journey varied and interesting, so the game doesn't overstay its welcome until the end despite being pretty long (for a game made by one person). Overall game design is very good; it's rather linear but some areas are big and open, or have branching paths and shortcuts that you can use to solve quests on your adventure. Enemy variety is also great, with many of them requiring different approach and sometimes different weapons being most effective against them (love the ticks that jump down from trees and multiply if they successfully drink your blood - hard to spot in tall grass too).
Great example of what just one person can create if they put their passion and soul into it. It might be a bit rough around the edges, but a gem of a game nonetheless.

Northern Journey is one of those games that feel more like an experience, an adventure through one of the most beautiful, memorable worlds I've ever seen in any game. A game that has more soul and personality than 95% of today's slop created by AAA studios. The atmosphere this game has, combined with phenomenal, ambient soundtrack really is one of a kind.
Just after the game starts when I got to the first settlement in the mountains I just stood there for 10 minutes looking at pine trees and foliage dancing in the wind, admiring the view and listening to the beautiful music... Every level in this game is huge, with different themes and tons of attention to detail.
Combat is frequent but it never feels like the "main dish" of the game. Northern Journey, as title suggests, is mostly about exploration and soaking up the atmosphere. All weapons are ranged so there's no melee combat. Slingshot, bow, crossbows and thrown weapons is what you're gonna fight with here.
Of course this game being an indie passion project, you have to expect some typical jank and rough-around-the-edges stuff here and there (especially in the character animations departament) but I think it just adds to the overall charm of the game.
It's one of those games that after finishing it and experiencing all it has to offer, I actually regret buying it on a sale. Seriously. Especially when I've found out that you get the phenomenal soundtrack for free (!) - yes, it's right there in the game files, folder "Northern_Journey_OST".
The only criticism I have, and unfortunatelly you're gonna deal with this problem throughout the whole game - is the collision mechanics. You will get stuck with some random enviromental geometry objects, you will fall off edges and slopes, you will fall into deep water and rivers (your character can't swim). Combine the collisions problem with literally zero in the air control when you're jumping and the outcome is rather nasty. As an FPS veteran I died maybe couple of times from enemies but I had lots of unfair deaths from fighting with collisions and, well, gravity for that matter.
I'm really looking forward to any future projects from Slid Studio, insta-buy from me for sure!

Primera vez en la vida que valoro un juego de steam. Recomendadísimo. Inmersión buenísima, ambientación excelente, banda sonora perfecta, dificultad remarcable (en modo normal incluso) y gráficos lowpoly con mucho carisma. Tiene un diseño de niveles muy bueno recordándome muchas veces a Dark Souls 1, tema atajos, áreas interconectadas y la verdad que unas panorámicas dignas de sacarle alguna que otra captura porque el juego bellísimo sinceramente. Joyita absoluta.
The best part of the game is that each stage is completely different. There are sometimes where it's like a walking simulator, but it doesn't take so long, and at least the exploration of these parts is rewarded with useful items.
Great journey, great atmosphere, interesting characters.
Only real downside is the awful combat that devolves to running backwards in circles firing at something until it dies, or you plummet off a cliff, drown or get stuck on the scenery and die. Not particularly challenging, just tedious. The exploration and puzzles are where this gem shines.
That last boss fight though... its like you took all the bad ideas and rolled them into one extremely tedious and boring fight.

Venía a este juego sin ninguna premisa ni sin saber nada del juego. Nada mas que la recomendación de pasada de un video de youtube. Y para mi sorpresa, creo que es de los mejores juegos que he jugado desde el año pasado.
Está desarrollado por un único desarrollador, pero se nota el cariño que le puso, y el amor que tiene por las aventuras que se llevaban hace unos años.
El juego es lineal, tiene algun secreto, pero te lleva de la mano todo el rato. Los personajes son bastante gracioso y mal rolleros.
La música es maravillosa, es una especie de Dungeo Synth fusionado a folk nordico. Creo que hace increible al juego.
Tiene tramos dificiles, pero no imposibles, de hecho todo o casi todo se puede cheesear sin problema.
En resumen, lo recomiendo al 100% si los gráficos no te echan para atrás y estás dispuesto a descubrir un juegazo.

I'm ok with janky and unpolished games. You can have janky and beautiful. You can have unpolished and fun. This just isn't it. I really wanted to like this game but ended up refunding.
It's bland, ugly, requires lots of backtracking and has many frustrating bugs like getting stuck on scenery or falling to your death with no warning. I've played plenty of early access games developed by one person or a small team that were miles more fun than this mess. I did not have a good time playing this game.
Avoid at all costs.

Nothing else like this one out there, stunning environments and great atmosphere, if you have any interest in slighty unorthodox fps or retro fps games and like what you see in the images, go for it.

I went into this expecting a short, game-jam esque affair and something very simplistic. I was pleasantly surprised to find a full-length adventure through a pretty captivating Scandinavian world absolutely full to the brim with spiders.
The atmosphere, music, artstyle ~ 'vibes' as we call em these days ~ are immaculate. You'll travel through a huge array of beautiful locales and meet the locals, mainly spiders.
The gameplay isn't great, but it's serviceable. You'll spend most of your time looking at pretty scenery, and the rest shooting at things(spiders). So, if you want to grade this game as a shooter, it'd rate pretty poorly. You'll be firing off unwieldy bows, throwing axes, and the hilariously awful yet ever-endearing sling, all while getting stuck on terrain.
Oddly enough, the game reminds me most of Half-Life 2 - a semi-linear romp through a series of setpieces with occasional breaks for mediocre gunplay. This doesn't sound that appealling until you realize the game is so utterly beautiful and full of charm that you'll keep playing to the end just to see what area or situation you find yourself in next, or what kind of spider you encounter next.
Occasionally, that area will be terrifying. This game spends a lot of time in deep, forboding caves full of spiders, or dark forbidden woods, usually also full of spiders. When the game brings out it's spools it can be legitimately pretty stressful and unsettling, though you'll always come out of whatever nightmare you find yourself in to see something beautiful and peaceful, so it really balances out. Still, I'm glad I'm not an arachnophobe but would seriously advise anyone who is one proceed with caution.
A really fun time. I beat it in 16 hours or so, and just as it was starting to drag, it ended. Kudos to the developer who I believe worked on this solo.

Особенно когда ты стримишь ее другу и место того чтобы спуститься с высокой горы через телепорт, ты идешь пешком проходя весь путь обратно, а тот ху"ми тебя покрывает что я не телепортнулся в эту е"учую деревню дураков, ДА Я просто пошел и вернулся С самой последней локации до первой пешком. червяк вообще удивил в конце. в целом 10/10. ТОП саундтрек, ТОП графон, возможно даже пауки более чем детализированы были но и так не плохо, особенно которые подводные. ДА под водой вообще ♥♥♥♥♥♥ происходил, один раз чуть не помер, а другой раз чуть не заблудился, но даже в таком случае помогли красные ниточки. На горе дельтаплан вообще топ аттракцион, но горка ледяная пизже, 2 раза скатился с нее квиклоудом.

A pretty entertaining game, though I never quite stopped being annoyed at how janky the movement and combat could be. I stayed for the amusing characters and to see where the journey went and overall was left pretty happy with the experience.

В ней есть какая-то тяжесть, предчувствие падения, но в то же время и решимость двигаться дальше. Она как будто говорит: "Да, будет сложно, но ты справишься".
Northern Journey OST - 10 The Performance: Ох, "The Performance"! Это просто шедевр. В ней есть что-то мистическое, даже немного безумное. Она как будто играет с твоим разумом, заставляя сомневаться в реальности происходящего. Это музыка для тех моментов, когда ты сталкиваешься с чем-то необъяснимым, с чем-то, что выходит за рамки обыденного. Она завораживает и пугает одновременно.
Northern Journey OST - 16 Hypothermia Waste: Название говорит само за себя. Это холод, это отчаяние, это борьба за выживание. Музыка пронизана чувством безысходности, но в то же время в ней есть и какая-то внутренняя сила, которая не дает тебе сдаться. Она заставляет тебя чувствовать мороз на коже, даже если ты сидишь в теплой комнате.
Northern Journey OST - 17 Haunted Glacier: Еще один шедевр, который погружает в атмосферу леденящего ужаса. Здесь чувствуется присутствие чего-то древнего, чего-то, что таится в глубинах льда. Это музыка для тех моментов, когда ты понимаешь, что ты не один в этом мире, и что не все существа дружелюбны. Она создает ощущение постоянной угрозы, заставляя тебя быть начеку.
Northern Journey OST - 20 Changeling Forest: Эта композиция – как блуждание по заколдованному лесу. В ней есть что-то обманчивое, что-то, что меняет форму и ускользает от понимания. Она как будто играет с тобой, заставляя сомневаться в том, что ты видишь и слышишь. Это идеальный фон для исследования таинственных и опасных мест.
И, конечно же, Northern Journey OST - 21 Ending: Это не просто финал, это катарсис. В ней собраны все эмоции, пережитые за время игры: и боль, и радость, и усталость, и облегчение. Она оставляет после себя глубокий след, заставляя задуматься о пройденном пути, о сделанных выборах, о смысле всего этого приключения. В общем мне не понравилось, если коротко очень похожий экспириенс с игрой Lunacid с такой же проблемой личной я понимаю что эта игра из себя представляет и почему должна работать, но проникнуться не получилось, правда здесь вместо узких противных лок весьма обширные локации и леса. Действительно лучшим аспектом игры является её окружение, реально как-будто залез в самый дремучий лес с комарами местной живностью и криповость всего не натурального производит весьма хорошее впечатление вместе с очень приятной музыкой простой. К сожалению геймплей при этом всем супер тухлый хоть и ставит вас в различные ситуации. Для определенной аудитории это прям годнота, особенно для любителей хтони, но чисто не мое
