先说优点，这个游戏唯一的优点就是美术还行，场景氛围营造得非常不错，虽然也是反乌托邦的样板戏，但确实刻画得没问题，挺有代入感的，除此之外全是依托。游戏性等于没有，全程走路也就算了，核心玩法回溯寻找线索堪称又臭又长，每次都在同一个地方反反复复反反复复回溯，回溯出来的结果也都是模糊的事实，没什么揭晓真相的感觉。剧情虎头蛇尾戛然而止，前面看起来是埋下了很多伏笔塑造了很大的世界观，但故事猝不及防地就结束了。什么阴谋什么凶手什么最终boss全都没有揭晓，主角啥也不知道，就像条狗一样无人在意地死去了。前面那么多所谓的影响结局的选项其实也没啥用处，最后一共就两个差异不太大的结局，只有一个问题就决定了最后的结果（而且在选择那些选项之前也是没有剧情提示或暗示的，完全凭感觉选）。最后，系统方面，作为一个需要大量分支选择的游戏，它居然没有手动存档！！也没有分支树，也没有选关卡，二周目想补成就的话，要重新过这个又臭又长的剧情和回溯搜索，很多对话也不能跳过，笑死不会真有人去玩二周目吧。

Perhaps I’ve become too used to having my narratives spoon-fed, with the crusts already cut off and the plastic packaging guaranteeing a predictable—if not overwhelmingly fresh—experience. Or perhaps I simply couldn’t match the pace of its storytelling, missing the myriad sinews forming around the truly opulent spread that is [i]Nobody Wants to Die[/i].

The world-building is certainly there; oh, is it there, and is it ever appetizing! Visually, it’s an absolute treat as well—so much so, in fact, that I found myself wanting more than it offers. Normally, I’d consider that a compliment, but in this case, it doesn’t quite work to the game’s advantage—and it's honestly difficult to explain why.

All the ingredients are there, but the pacing is… off. Or perhaps it’s the constantly ambiguous dialogue choices that seem to require almost clairvoyant intuition. Or the rather rigid gameplay for an “investigative” noir. Or any number of other, admittedly minor, elements that I can’t quite seem to qualify, but whose combination leaves the overall experience feeling slightly wanting.

It may be a banquet of mismatched courses, but I’d still recommend it. There’s a unique richness to the experience because it feels overindulgent in both what it does brilliantly and what it doesn’t.

I’m not sure why this review has so many food-related metaphors… I probably ought to eat something =/.

It's a drag, there is no time for you to figure out anything the game just tells you what to do straight away. Goes too hard on all 80-90s Detective tropes. I don't know how far the end of the story is but it's all over the place. I loved altered carbon and this is well, I dunno what this is. Boring mess?

Un style année 50/polars sauce futuriste, un style que je deteste de base et pourtant j'ai voulu continuer et jeureusement! Ce jeu est génial, le gameplay pour faire avancer l'histoire est sympa mais c'est l'histoire qui fait tout. Un suspens total jusqu'au dénouement, Un jeu qui mérite dêtre fait une seconde fois pour explorer les différents choix. Bref profitez de la promo pour le faire, vous ne serez pas déçu.

I would recommend this game if it's on sale. Spoiler free review at the top.

Pros:
-graphics (game looks great and runs smooth)
-atmosphere (if you like distopian themed games or movies like Bioshock, Cyberpunk 2077 or a bit like Matrix)
-gameplay/mechanics (it's not super complex but fiting)
-story (i felt very emersed and pulled in)

Con:
-a very abrupt ending (i think i got a ''bad'' ending but even then, the ending i got does not make me fell satisfied. I dont want to spoil anything but i really felt cut off and have a lot of questions that were'nt answered. I will probably do a ''guided'' 2nd playtrough at some point or watch the other 3 endings on YT.)

The ending i got was very similar to one ending in Cyberpunk 2077. The difference why it works in Cyberpunk 2077 and does not leave me unsatisfied there is about 100H of more gameplay and the ability to really get emersed and connected with the characters.

i say this is a "good" game on paper . it has a cool artstyle and the universe and bleak feeling of dystopia and hopelessness is all there . but if u buy this game expecting it to be "LA noire" or whatever i think u were being delusional also couldve just looked up gameplay if u were expecting that. from the looks of the game back when trailer released i didnt expect this game to be super long especially considering the price . so i mean theres no dishonesty with this i think ppl just had the weirdest hopes for this game simply b/c LA noire is in a league of its own detectiveness wise . honestly , so yes this is a detective game theres a "case" but its more about u find the pieces and put them together with the game trying to guide u to the ending , this is nothing new .

the difficutly with this game is that, so much of the story feels "unsolved" or unfinished , i mean theres an ending but read the reviews and u will see its mostly mixed. Me personally i think i like this game but the story/universe of the game needed to be fleshed out more for it to feel satisfying and actually fullfilling storywise.
for $5 bucks i have more room to be satisfyed with my purchase but like if i bought this for $30 i think id be pissed cause i mean the story is there but like theres so much not being said at the same time. So i mean spend $5 now and have a uninteresting ending and think of what couldve been or dont play it all.

Nobody Wants to Die é aquele tipo de jogo que brilha MUITO em alguns aspectos, mas deixa a desejar em outros.

O maior destaque, sem dúvida, é o universo. A cidade, as roupas, toda a estética são incríveis — dá muita vontade de ver um jogo de mundo aberto nesse mesmo estilo. A ambientação lembra muito uma mistura de Blade Runner com Cyberpunk 2077. Visualmente, o jogo é muito bonito. Em alguns momentos dá umas estranhadas, mas no geral o gráfico é excelente.

A história também merece destaque. Do meio pro final ela dá um upgrade muito bom e te prende mais. Apesar disso, ela acaba sendo um pouco previsível em certos pontos, o que pode atrapalhar um pouco o impacto, principalmente nas escolhas.

A mecânica de reconstrução de cenas é bem interessante. Em vez de só clicar nas coisas, você literalmente “rebobina” os acontecimentos e analisa o que rolou.

Agora, o maior problema: o jogo é MUITO linear. Em vários momentos parece mais um filme interativo do que um jogo de fato. Você não tem liberdade — precisa fazer tudo na ordem que o jogo manda, tanto na exploração quanto nas investigações.

A campanha também é curta, o que pesa ainda mais considerando essa falta de liberdade.

Se tivessem dado mais liberdade, tanto pra explorar a cidade e interagir com as pessoas, quanto nas investigações , o jogo poderia ser incrível.

Le jeu se présente comme un jeu d’enquête, mais le système est extrêmement répétitif. Même si tu progresses, les actions restent les mêmes tout le long, ce qui rend l’expérience assez ennuyante. Comparé à des titres comme les derniers Sherlock Holmes, le gameplay est pauvre et manque totalement de variété.

L’univers cyberpunk est joli et assez agréable à parcourir, mais ça ne suffit pas à sauver le jeu. Le personnage principal, avec son cynisme forcé, ne m’a jamais paru naturel et sonne complètement faux, ce qui casse toute tentative d’immersion ou d’accroche émotionnelle.

Il y a des choix qui semblent avoir un impact sur l’histoire, ce qui est un point positif, mais malheureusement, ça ne compense pas le reste : le gameplay répétitif, le manque d’intérêt pour l’enquête et la personnalité peu crédible du héros.

En résumé, le jeu a du potentiel sur le papier, mais en pratique, il est fastidieux et frustrant, et je ne le recommande pas.

Overall, "Nobody Wants To Die" is a wonderful game set in a fascinating world with a gripping story, superbly presented through stunning graphics, atmospheric locations, and well-written dialogue.

The story isn't perfectly crafted down to the last detail; there are a few situations where the atmospheric facade falters because they feel somewhat forced (count how many times [spoiler]the protagonist falls to his knees and spits blood[/spoiler], or try to find the slightest sense in the scene [spoiler]where your boss shoots you for no apparent reason[/spoiler]). The evidence boards are also essentially solvable only through trial and error, as theories and facts often don't quite align.

But these are truly minor flaws in an otherwise excellent game.

Mixed feelings.
Great story, but sometimes uneven. Reminds me noir, hard-boiled detective stories. Strong point of this title.
Connecting evidence is an easy but engaging minigame.
So far so good, but the weak point of the game is gathering evidence.
Protagonists seems to be the worst detective in history. Ignores evidence until it is viewable by the gadgets he uses. Gadgets have some unnecesary activities to them, seemingly only to extend the gameplay.
Without spoiling too much - one of the gadgets - reconstructor - is bugged to hell, because if we stand in the path of reconstruction "ghost", then reconstruction is interrupted until we move, or we get stuck inside recostruction "ghost". It would be better to completely remove this gadget from the game.

Overal solid game.

Gra ma naprawdę ciekawy i dość nietuzinkowy pomysł, co w dzisiejszych czasach, kiedy wiele produkcji powiela te same schematy, jest dużym plusem. Od razu widać, że twórcy chcieli zrobić coś świeżego i w dużej mierze im się to udało.
Na uwagę zasługuje też oprawa graficzna, która jest bardzo dopracowana i po prostu przyjemna dla oka. Wszystko wygląda spójnie, a detale dodają klimatu podczas rozgrywki.
Do tego dochodzi fabuła oraz dialogi. Może nie jest przesadnie skomplikowana, ale jest zgrabnie poprowadzona i dobrze wpasowuje się w całość i koncepcję.

I made it about ten minutes in and stopped due to the VA scripting. The VA was good from the amount I heard, but if the dialogue relies on dropping the F-bomb in every other sentence from every character you encounter in the first ten minutes of the game, it makes it kind of difficult to differentiate between character personas. As is the case with overindulgence of pretty much anything, the bomb turned into the norm and lost all of it's impact. Now I just assume they all have no real idealistic or even linguistic skills of their own and simply rely on nonexistent shock value and I've grown weary of the dialogue.

Having said that the visuals were great and the idea behind the game is right up my ally. Unfortunately the script killed it before it ever really got started. This is a straight up non-starter for me. At least it I got it on sale...

This is a difficult game to review. While the game looks great on a technical level, the gameplay is so boring and even tedious. You're not really investigating or doing detective work, you're fiddling with quirky controls to find the next clickable and proceed. The real gameplay comes through dialog choices, but the story is so discombulated and hard to follow that I found myself not giving a damn about it. I struggled to finish it despite it's short length.

The graphics look awesome although performance may vary. The voice acting is also great but there's issues with how some lines come off as disconnected or badly edited.

In conclusion, I'd say this is a flawed game due to bad design and poor execution. Buy at deepest of discounts.

Overall I have mixed feelings about this game. I would rate this game neutrally, but decided to not recommend it overall unless you don't mind what I have to say about the following:

This is more of an interactive movie than a game. There isn't really anything for you to think about when playing other than finding the right prompt to move things ahead. It definitely feels like a walking simulator, but an absolutely beautiful one. The graphics are stunning, and almost AAA level. The world itself is like an art deco version of Blade Runner.

The soundtrack to this game is also very good. Beautiful orchestral tracks accompany you while playing, and it feels wonderful. The audio-visual experience of this game is fantastic.

The main issue I have with this game is mostly with the dialogue and the plot. Being a movie game hybrid, it sticks out more to me. This game has a slight translation problem, and while the voice acting is fantastic, I can't help but feel like a lot of dialogue in the game just wasn't translated well. A lot of dialogue doesn't land or feel like something a native English speaker would say. I also found the dialogue to be very pulpy and trite, though whether that's good or bad depends on your taste, but I didn't really enjoy it all that much.

These issues bleed into the plot as well. With translation issues and a complex plot, most of the game I felt confused on the details of what was going on and what motivations certain characters had. Who shot who, why they were shooting, how the people shot were related, it became a mess. I also found it confusing why the police chief, who had seemingly known James for so long, was very hostile the whole game. Sara towards the finale also turns extremely whiny, not even caring about James at all, even after getting shot and spitting out blood, and only cared about getting her body back which sort of ruined her character for me.

For a few dollars, it's a decent experience, but it's not something I'm going to remember or think about again.

Ретрофутуристический с нотками киберпанка нуарный детектив. К сожалению, детектив только по литературному жанру. Любые механики здесь задействуют лишь руки, а не мозги, и, кажется, добавлены только для движухи и погружения в мир. Основной упор идёт на антураж и сюжет, или даже вопросы, которые ставит сюжет. Выборы присутствуют формально: есть пара, влияющих на концовку, остальные позволяют открыть строчки комментариев для общения с напарницей.

Несмотря на почти абсолютную! клишированность и заимствования, игра не чувствуется совсем уж вторичной, она получилась атмосферной, красивой и по большей части увлекательной на протяжении всего повествования. Так что в данном случае можно сказать, что создатели придерживались канонов, стандартов и отсылок :)

Лор и главные персонажи проработаны вполне удовлетворительно для этой короткой истории на 5-7 часов, по крайней мере, мы успеваем узнать многое и о мире, и о мотивах разных действующих лиц. И всё это, из окружения или в ходе диалогов, а не читая десятки записочек.
Сюжет может быть не поражает глубиной тройного дна, однако это может компенсироваться барахтаньем в постразмышлениях о всяком трансгуманизме и морали.

Главная механика игры - реконструкция произошедшего- получилась очень неоднозначной. Как сама по себе (как это работает? В отличие от того же "брейнданса", объяснений этой "магии времени" нет), так и с точки зрения игрового процесса - реконструкция идёт не один раз, а множеством коротких сессий: находим подсвеченную точку, восстанавливаем, комментируем, опционально используем доп. устройства типа УФ-лампы или сканера, повторить 10 раз. Для меня вышло как-то дёрганно.
И самое важное: я, как игрок, никак не могу повлиять на расследование. Персонаж сам делает умозаключения, сам выбирает, какие девайсы использовать, а моя задача - отыскать следующий светящийся маркер. Также невозможно пропустить улику или ошибиться при сопоставлении доказательств, это вообще можно решить перебором. И никто вас не поймает, несмотря на предупреждение о скором прибытии полиции.

Концовки могут понравиться не всем. Во-первых, тут нет чего-то эдакого. Во-вторых, то, что вы, скорее всего, получите, играя первый раз, не даст вам полного понимания произошедшего. Возможности же перепройти по отдельным главам нет - лишь полное прохождение заново. И в целом игра не даёт ощущения чётко сложившегося паззла: вроде бы основные линии закрыты, но остались висеть кое-какие информация и вопросы.

Итого. Мне бы больше понравилось, если бы игра честно признала себя линейным симулятором ходьбы, а не цепляла маску детектива. Все эти заигрывания с выборами лишь смазали концовку и оставили вопросы к сюжету. А так, по скидке и, главное, по настроению, может и да.

Visually impressive tribute to neo-noir that amounts to nothing more than a walking sim.

The atmosphere is great, with an interesting blend of Art Deco, cyberpunk dystopia, and 30s-40s detective thriller. It's like if BioShock and Blade Runner were blended together. The game looks and sounds great, for the most part.

However, the game is as mechanically deep as a puddle. I was expecting something closer to LA Noire or even Shadows of Doubt. The game holds your hand throughout every single crime scene, you don't do anything that fits a detective besides walk from prompt to prompt. Nobody Wants to Die has more in common with Gone Home or Everyone's Gone to the Rapture. The THREE puzzles (that are all clones of each other) that the game has can be beaten with brute force, and crime scenes are basically cutscenes that you can walk around in. I was expecting interrogations or at the very least some actual logical deduction with the crime scenes. Instead, I got a walking sim with some added bells and whistles that just left me wondering when I would actually get the chance to do some sleuthing.

Narrative choices have little bearing on the plot, even though you get the TellTale "This choice will have consequences," notification for almost everything. There's only two endings and besides some minor dialogue differences, which ending you get quite literally amounts to 3 previous choices. I got the [spoiler] Anguish Ending and was completely confused because I thought there would be another ~2 hours to wrap up some things. Turns out that ichorite makes you crazy the more you come back but my ending left so many things open-ended I had to look up the other ending just to understand that. [/spoiler] Neither ending offers a satisfactory conclusion, in my opinion, and the story just kind of stops right before what feels like should be the beginning of Act 3.

For $5 I can't exactly complain too much but by around the [spoiler] train car [/spoiler] I was completely done with the game.

I recommend this game if you enjoy immersive experiences and detective stories. It doesn’t have much “gameplay” since it’s pretty on rails, but it really stands out for its atmosphere, world-building, and narrative.

It’s about a 5 hour experience, unless you want to go for all endings (there are 3 different ones).

I’d describe it as a “playable movie.”

мне игра понравилась, кинематографичные концовки. красивая графика, отличный стиль, понятный и интересный геймплей и отличная история. так же не могу не отметить озвучку. английская озвучка в данной игре просто шедевр, хоть и пришлось дважды пройти, но я выбил 100% (хоть могло и хватить одного прохождения и сохранение в финале для второй концовки). единственное из минусов что могу отметить, это то что у меня игра лагала и фризила на макс графике с DLAA и даже с DLSS на качество (учитывая что с DLSS фпс должен быть больше)

Supposedly I only played this game 5 hours, it felt like 20. The visuals were amazing, I liked the mix of LA Noir and Bladerunner. The story was intriguing and the setting was interesting, but was dulled by the lack of actual gameplay. There wasn't much detective work to do in this detective game. It was basically just wander around, look at stuff, follow the prompts, play a mini-game, look for the indicators to tell you where to find the next thing, and repeat. You can make different decisions along the way to alter the story/ending. I guess I made bad choices along the way and got, what I assume, was the worst possible ending. I felt no desire to go back and try again for a better ending.

Je n'avais jamais entendu parlé de ce jeu et je l'ai acheté vraiment au hasard en promo. Au final, rien à redire : excellente surprise. Graphismes et bande-son et voix c'est la grande classe. L'histoire est prenante et les mécaniques de jeu sont hyper satisfaisantes. .................... Mais surtout il y a l'AMBIANCE : les dév. ont créé une sorte d'univers néo retro dans l'esprit de Bioshock qui fonctionne à fond (surtout mixé avec le style polar bien noir !) Franchement tout y est pour que vous viviez une très bonne expérience ! Foncez !

What a beautiful and interesting story driven experience. Especially for the price on sale, I got it for a measly $5. The game does an excellent job building upon a Dystopian-Noir theme with a crime-thriller story that keeps you decently captivated. Is it a perfect story? No. But somewhat challenges your ethical and morale base in a walking-simulator style format and has you decently caring about the characters involved and trying to solve the mystery at hand. Part Detective Drama, Part Crime-Thriller, Part Tell Tale-esque decision based story game. I think they did a fantastic job and I hope to see more from these Devs in the future! I could have stayed on that Balcony forever!

A fun homage to the detective noir genre of the past set 200 years in the future where the end of your body is not the end of your life as it can be transferred from one mind to another. More of an interactive visual novel, the game has some great dialogue and character writing all taking place in a stunning universe. The atmosphere and environment design are oozing in style, the world feels lived in - all quips, object inspections and story beats support this fiction very well.

A no-brainer if you want to spend the weekend breathing in abnormal levels of air polluants and smoking artificial tobacco, because the real stuff doesn't exist anymore.

Great game with an interesting storyline. Only drawback is the saving system. Because of the autosave feature, if you miss anything you cannot go back. Because of the branching storyline, this can be VERY frustrating and you have to replay the entire game from the beginning if you want a different ending :(

Dedektiflik ile cyberpunk temasını güzel harmanlamışlar. Toplamda 5-6 saatlik bir deneyim sunuyor ve bu süre boyunca olayları çözmeye, katilin kim olduğunu anlamaya çalışıyorsunuz. Yürüme simülasyonu diyebiliriz ama gayet istikrarlı ve iyi işlerden biri. Hikâye genel olarak ortalama üstü. Başlarda biraz klişe gelse de ilerledikçe toparlıyor ve merakı canlı tutuyor. Hikâye anlatımı da bu toparlanmaya katkı sağlıyor. Görsellik ve atmosfer tarafı oldukça iyi. Cyberpunk atmosferi güzel yansıtılmış; ortam tasarımları ve ışıklandırmalar göze hoş geliyor. Teknik olarak da akıcı bir deneyim sunuyor. Oynanış tarafı ise oldukça sınırlı. Zaten beklentiyi bu yönde tutmak lazım; daha çok izleyip yön verdiğiniz bir yapı var. Bu yüzden oyunun tam fiyatı, oynanış arayanlar için fazla gelebilir. Özetle: Etkileşimli film tarzını seviyorsanız ve dedektiflik + cyberpunk karışımı ilginizi çekiyorsa, indirimde kesinlikle şans verilebilir. Ülkemizde tam fiyat biraz düşündürür ama indirimde 2–3$ civarına düştüğünde kaçırmayın.

개인적으로 정가에 샀으면 존나 화났을거 같은 작품
이런 장르 좋아하는 사람에게는 아마 좋은 게임이였겠지만 나는 그냥 무난하게 플레이했다고 말하고 싶다.

사회는 몸을 갈아끼우는 디스토피아 세계관이며
건물이나 분위기는 사이버펑크와 아톰펑크가 혼합된 모습에 전반적으로 아르데코 양식이 돋보인다.

스토리는 전혀 모르겠다.
결국 이게 무슨 내용인지, 뭘 말 하고 싶은건지도.
디트로이드 비컴 휴먼 마냥 사건을 재구성하고 힌트를 얻어서 추리를 하는 느낌인데 진짜 디트로이드 비컴 휴먼의 마이너버전이라고 생각한다.

퍼즐 맞추기도 그렇게 많은 편은 아니고, 분기점이 갈리는 선택지가 막 나오는거 같은데 자동저장만 가능한 시스템 덕택에 뭐 어케 된거지?와 '뭐가 다른거지?'를 동시에 느끼게 해준다.

디트로이드 비컴 휴먼이 분기점 죽죽 갈라지면 자 당신은 여길 선택했고 이떤 결과값을 받았습니다를 보여준다면
얘네는 자 당신은 이걸 골랐고 죽었어요. 수구하십시오. 메타라 '와 그럼 다른 방향은 어떨까?'보다 이게 먼...하면서 얼탱이가 빠져나가는 기분이다.

그래픽은 확실히 사물과 환경에 대해서는 높은 점수를 주고 싶다만, 인물 그래픽은 뭐 무난하다.

아무튼 마80찍혀서 고작 오천원인 햄버거 세트메뉴보다도 싼 가격으로 3 ~ 5시간 조지고 더 하고 싶으면 분기점 다 다르게 쏙쏙 골라서 총 20 ~ 25시간은 뽑을 수 있을거 같은 게임이다.
고로 세일할때 사면 나쁘지않다.

Genuine mixed bag. I don't remember the last time I played a game where my opinion kept shifting from beginning to end.

Ultimately, I think the experience is good enough to recommend it. The game sells for dirt cheap, and there aren't many like this, even if it's obviously ripping off Blade Runner at times. The art direction is beautiful, the presentation is overall well done, despite the limited budget, and there are some genuinely strong and enjoyable moments to experience.

On the other hand, the story has more holes than a swiss cheese, is full of contradictions and nonsense, with some highly disappointing things, especially towards the end. This is a game with pretty shell, but it's jank. There are forums full of people arguing about the story - I suggest you to not try to make sense of it, the writing is at times downright infantile, but, to it's credit, the character inteactions are solid, helped by equally solid voice acting. All I can say is, Philip K. ♥♥♥♥, this is not.

A solid adventure game with great presentation, always entertaining investigative time-rewinding mechanism (that is the highlight of the game for me, easily), some decent character moments, and a disappointing overall story. You'll cringe at times, but you'll come out with a bittersweet enjoyment.

Je n'attendais rien du jeu, mais de part son univers j'aurais espéré passer un bon moment. Ce n'est pas le cas.

L'univers et l'histoire sont intéressant mais le gameplay est lent, brouillon et inintéressant. Ont se contente de faire ce que le jeu nous demande sans savoir pourquoi la plupart du temps. Le problème n'est pas que le jeu est en fin de compte un film interactif, le problème est que c'est mal exécuté.

Les dialogues sont parfois beaucoup trop long et vu que rien ne viens casser ce rythme assez lent, c'est l'ennuie total.

Il reste l'ambiance graphique et sonore qui est très bien rendue.

Je n'ai pas du tout apprécié jouer à ce jeu malgré l'histoire plus qu'intéressante.

This is an entirely subjective viewpoint, so feel free to disagree. And I feel like I'd rather write a neutral review instead of a negative one.

Unfortunately, for me, this game attempts to take on a heavy narrative burden (and even plays out like a cinematic film noir complete with a cynical PC who is trying to act like Humphrey Bogart) but ultimately can't support all the weight due to a heavy reliance on indie horror tropes and and a comic book level ending complete with B-side movie shenanigans and EVIL ANTIHERO WHO JUST WANTS THE WORLD TO BURN (AND SCREW YOU TOO).

This game had promising mechanics but doesn't feel like it gives you any actual room to investigate. It helpfully blinks when you're lost, you see? It points the way so that you won't get TOO frustrated. None of the investigations actually feel like investigations -- you just get your little hand held the whole time through. It got to the point that I just wanted to rush through what should've been the most interesting parts of the game!

The sad thing is all the story beats COULD have worked if given the right presentation and perhaps a much longer game with better writing (that is to say, a far less blunt style of storytelling), but that ain't it here.

I'd recommend the stuff this seems to draw from (Dark City, Blade Runner, any number of film noir) if you just want to watch a gritty dystopian sci-fi noir. It's a hot mess of good sources and, as such, I can't really recommend it. And if you want to get into deep sci-fi existential nightmares, you can still find much better narratives in PREY or SOMA.

I liked Nobody Wants to Die, but didn’t come away loving it. The visuals are easily the best part, with a really well done cyberpunk noir atmosphere. While the game is beautiful, the world itself feels small, which limits the overall experience. Voice acting was strong but you just don't spend a lot of time with the characters to have them feel fleshed out.

Gameplay leans heavily into walking sim territory, but adds mechanics that feel clunky and don’t really add much. Instead of enhancing the story, they mostly slow things down or are just confusing. It’s also very short, so it ends before it really builds momentum. I wouldn’t strongly recommend it unless you’re specifically into dark cyberpunk noir, but it’s decent. Wouldn't play again.

Soooooo…. This game is tough for me to decide between a thumbs up and thumbs down. Ultimately thumbs down it is. Overall it’s decent enough. I just feel like it could have been much more than it is. It’s definitely in the “walking simulator” genre, which I have no problems with, but, this doesn’t do it that well. It’s tedious. There’s no actual exploration really, you have to follow a pretty strict path to progress.

Voice acting is great, visuals are beautiful, story is good enough, but predictable.

The biggest issue I had was 80% through the game, and I was exhausted by it. I just wanted it to be over. I think if there was more freedom, or a sense of your choices making a difference, I’d have enjoyed it more. For $24.99 it’s way too much, under $10, it’s probably worth it if you’re ok with this kind of game.

Takes about 6-8 hours to complete fully.

這種讓我心醉的氛圍，卻只撐到頭一兩章節。我本以為遊戲會好好利用「意識轉移、身體更換、人人永生」這個設定，帶出像 [b]碳變[/b] 或 [b]Black Mirror[/b] 那樣讓人細思極恐的倫理拷問——什麼是人？永生到底值不值得？誰才有資格活下去？故事方面其實整個設定都有很大發展空間，某些情節其實顯露製作組有一些更加有深度有趣的展開但卻並沒有持續下去。結果花這麼大力氣建構的永生概念，到底是為了什麼？不應該只換來一句「好看」

這遊戲本質就是個walking sim，偶爾穿插時間重建的解謎(其實也算不上解謎只是按部就班根據提示點擊)。第一次利用重建器重組犯罪現場時候，我還覺得新鮮機制挺有意思。還是能看出在設計案發現場的探索部分還是有放一些巧思。去到後面，就越來越重複。整個偵查過程幾乎沒有讓動腦的空間，從頭到尾都是遊戲牽著我的手。比起 [b]福爾摩斯的罪與罰[/b] 那種讓人費腦需要玩家自我思考的推理，More like小學生level。雖然有多結局，但每個都要重玩整段4-6小時流程、連手動存檔都沒有。沒有分支圖沒有中途存檔選擇絕對是一大敗筆，打完一個結局後，完全沒有動力去重新從零開始打過。

[b]Nobody Wants to Die[/b]就像一副外殼極致精美的空殼。美術、場景設計、世界觀建構、設定都很有自己的想法。當成互動電影慢慢看，享受他的美術以及氛圍，還是值得的。但若你像我一樣還有更高的追求，期待真正沉浸在一個豐滿的世界、擊節稱賞的敘事和推理，只能說還是差了一口氣。

Really enjoyed the game. The style is astonishing: noir blended with futuristic cyberpunk, with some slightly abstract touches that make it feel even more unique. It all comes together really well. The story is set in a dystopian future where people can swap bodies and essentially buy time, which adds a darker edge to everything. This game is awesome. I really missed playing linear games with an interesting story and fun gameplay. It feels like a mix of Cyberpunk 2077, Silent Hill 2, BioShock Infinite, and even a bit of Firewatch.

You can tell this game was made with love and care. The atmosphere, the dialogue, and the world feel very deliberate and thoughtful. And of course, we can't forget about the graphics and environments they are beautifully dark. It truly feels like a real cyberpunk city.

It really left me thinking about the idea of eternal life in this world. Will humans ever accomplish it? And if we do, what kind of dark and sad world might we be heading toward? I imagine that only the wealthy would be able to enjoy it, at least for a time.

Retro-futuristisches New York im Art-Deco-Stil, fliegende Autos, Neonlichter. Passt alles zusammen. Was als spannender Mordfall beginnt, ertrinkt aber schnell in endlosen Dialogen. Die Zeitmanipulations-Werkzeuge zum Untersuchen der Tatorte klingen in der Theorie cool, fühlen sich in der Praxis aber an wie Arbeit. Dazu eine Hintergrundmusik, die offenbar aus der Endlosschleife eines Fahrstuhls stammt. Am Ende war mir ziemlich egal, wer wen umgebracht hat und warum.

Очень красивое и атмосферное интерактивное кино. Футуристичный киберпанковский мир сделан отлично, за ним интересно наблюдать и просто находиться в нём.

Но как игра она довольно слабая. Взаимодействия с миром очень мало, а расследования практически полностью проходят сами. Почти ничего не требуется, просто просканировать пару мест, и всё почти решается автоматически. Никаких сложных задач или настоящего детективного анализа делать не приходится.

При этом сама идея и философия истории очень интересные. Понравилось то, как используются разные устройства для расследования, выглядит круто и хорошо вписывается в происходящие вокруг

Wir schreiben das Jahr 2329. Während in Star Trek in diesem Jahr schon ein Teil der Galaxis erforscht wurde, die "Isolinearen Chips" erforscht werden, die Enterprise-B bereits ihre Runden dreht und nebenbei Chakotay geboren wird, ist die Menschheit in dieser dystopischen cyberpunkmäßigen Welt nicht über die Grenzen des Sonnensystems hinaus geritten. Das Raumprogramm wurde eingestellt, man blieb sogar auf der Erde.
Aber dafür gibt es viel Besseres:
.) Überbevölkerung
.) Luftverschmutzung
.) stark kontaminierten sauren Regen
.) Sonnenlicht? für was....???!
.) Wolkenkratzer höher als das Auge reicht - zumindest bis zur Wolkendecke oder was immer das auch sein mag...

Außerdem:

.) weitläufig grassierende Armut
.) Korruption, so weit das Auge reicht
.) Intrigen, Machspiele und verräterische Absichten
.) Korporatokratie (richtig, das Wort musste ich auch erst nachschlagen)

.) und viele weitere lebenswerten Boni in dieser glorreichen und lebenswerten Zukunft

Aber die Krönung, ja wenn nicht sogar DAS Sahnehäubchen der modernen Schöpfung, sind die Hüllen. Ja genau -> Hüllen. Und diese gehören dem Staat - nicht dir. Nein, nein, du selbst hast nur ein ♥♥♥ dafür bezahlt. Aber keine Sorge Hüllen kosten erst mit 21 Jahren etwas, davor werden sie dir vom modernen Sozialstaat zur Verfügung gestellt, Oder etwa doch nicht? Wer weiß....

Du willst wissen was Hüllen sind? Tja, dann installieren und anspielen. Ach, und nicht schummeln und möglicherweise vorher recherchieren!!! Das wäre ja korrupt....

Achja und ganz nebenbei löst du als abgehalfterter Detective einen Kriminalfall in den höchsten elitären Kreisen....oder ermittelst du doch nicht?

Wie ihr seht ist hier nicht alles so wie es scheint. Und auch nicht alles was scheint, scheint eben. Soweit klar?

Die Geschichte, oder wohl eher die Botschaft hinter dem Spiel, ist das eigentliche Spiel. Es soll zum Nachdenken anregen. Und zu dem hat es bei mir definitiv geführt. Und bei vielen Stellen in der Erzählung bin ich am Ende nun nicht schlauer als zuvor. Eigentlich verwirrter. Aber exakt DAS Ergebnis, ist wohl von den Entwicklern genau so geplant....

Die Grafik ist interessant, aber sehr ressourcenintensiv. Die Spielmechanik nichts besonderes, aber es wurden einige nette Ideen im Umgang mit der möglichen zukünftigen polizeilichen Fallanalyse eingebaut.

Die Konsequenz der Entscheidungen ist akzeptabel, aber hätte durchaus intensiviert werden können.

Der Wiederspielwert wäre nur durch die Tatsache gegeben, dass gewisse Aktionen bzw. Aussagen der Charaktere - wie in etwa: The Sixth Sense, 12 Monkeys oder Harry Potter (ja genau auch dort!) - bei einem zweiten Durchgang womöglich besser nachvollzogen der gar verstanden werden können. Nur nebenbei gesagt, habe ich es nicht nochmals angespielt; ich würde es wohl eh nicht verstehen....

Kurzum: Empfehle ich das Spiel? Eindeutig JA! Nur warum? Nicht wegen der Spielmechanik oder der Konsequenz der Entscheidungen - diese beiden Elemente sind, sagen wir, eh lieb.
Sondern befürworte ich es wegen der großen und einzigen Frage dahinter: Wollen wir solch eine Zukunft für unsere geliebten Nachkommen oder können wir es (doch) besser?

This is a beautiful detective noir cyberpunk game set in a future where consciousnesses can be transferred into auctioned bodies whose previous owners couldn't afford the government tax. The writing is very noir, so if you like that, great, but it isn't easy to follow. There isn't much player agency in the story, or the puzzles, and the multiple endings boil down to, two cutscenes. Unfortunately, there aren't many games in this niche, so if it is on sale and you want to give it a go, then you should, but there are better noir games, better cyberpunk games, better detective games and better puzzle games. But none as beautiful.
If NWTD wrapped up the story more completely, then I would be more willing to recommend it more enthusiastically. However, this is a simple positive review, rather than an enthusiastic one.

Хорошая нуарная история. От геймплея особого чего-то ждать не стоит, вся игра представляет из себя режим брейнданса из CP2077 в декорациях футуризированной эпохи США первой половины 20-го века.

Если не придираться, что считаю вообще бессмысленным, то ощущается как хорошее интерактивное кино от 1-го лица. Ругать данный проект не за что.

Хотя был технический момент, где камера на уровне Икар себя странно повела, но спишем на случайный баг.

Хотелось бы пощупать чего-то такого в open world, но понимаю, как непросто было бы это реализовать.

Dans un futur New-York mêlant roman noir et ambiance cyberpunk, les citoyens ne pouvant payer leur "suscription" se retrouvent contraints de vendre leur corps à la banque, tandis que les riches vivent éternellement. Une série de meurtres nous pousse à enquêter.

Points positifs : De très beaux graphismes et une esthétique immaculée.
Points négatifs : Des choix peu diversifiés et un histoire trop complexe.
Ambiance horrifique : Pas d'ambiance de genre mais nous sommes en plein dans le thriller.
100 % : Rien de compliqué dès lors que l'on interagit correctement avec l'environnement.

Le seul défaut du jeu est vraiment son histoire trop tarabiscotée. La majorité des joueurs en ressortiront avec un goût d'inachevé. Malgré cela, le reste du jeu est très bon, nous laissant résoudre diverses scènes de crimes macabres dans une plastique toujours très travaillée.

- Nobody wants to Die - Bardzo mi przypomina pod względem gamplayu czy narracji i wyglądu .
- Karmę the dark world cóż po 2 godzinach naprawdę mi się podoba szkoda ,że ten typ gier jest mocno niszowy mi naprawdę sie podoba. Gra wydana w zeszłym roku bardzo swierza oprawa graficzna gamplay na zasadzie chodzenia i odkrywania histori z elemntami gdzie gracza decyzje wpływaja na fabułę.
- Co wedle mnie jest dużym plusem ponieważ tak jak w życiu podejmujemy pewne decyzje i nie wiemy z biegiem czasu czy będą korzystne czy nam zaszkodzą.
Czy to polecajka? jeśli lubisz historie z ładną grafiką oraz z tym , że dowiadujesz się wiecej o wykreowanym świecie oraz o głównym bohaterze.
- To tak wtedy jestem godzien ci to polecić szczególnie , że gry tego typu nie trwaja dziesiątki godzin a możesz sobie usiąść i na spokojnie w 1 bądz 2 czy 3 sesję ją przejść.

Nobody Wants to Die is a story-focused game where you play a detective in a dystopian future. Rich people get new and better bodies after their current ones are old. Most people are poor and live in ghettos, while a few elite members of society fulfill themselves every dream they have (basically like in real life, the masses are just a little bit worse off in NWTD than in the current real society).
You have to solve a series of murders that target the rich and beautiful and have to find out who is behind it. What I liked about this game is that its focus is on the detective gameplay. There is not really much freedom for the player, only one thing to do is the correct option to move your investigation along, but I appreciate the fact that they focused on that. The developers did not implement any stupid combat mechanics like e. g. Murdered: Soul Suspect.
The story starts of intriguing, but goes to ♥♥♥♥ in the last third (of a very short game). There is too much battling your own demons and digging up your past and stuff like that going on instead of solving the case.
I'd still recommend this game if you're looking for a detective game without combat and QTEs. I'd only buy it on sale, though, as it is really short and there is no replayability in it.
