Mold was never this fun! Plays a little wonky on Steam Deck but gyro controls are kinda useful for once.
Overall, a very unique puzzle game, with an excellent presentation. Intriguing, with fun gameplay, but tedious, and even frustrating at times. The frustration stems from the randomness of its core gameplay feature and often random difficulty spikes in the puzzles themselves. Despite the seemingly luck-based rng frustrations, the game wasn't awfully long, didn't overstay its welcome, and felt rewarding upon completion.
Original, fun and sometimes frustating.
First, let me say the mechanics in this game are interesting, and the art is beautiful.
Beyond that though, there's not too much I feel like saying positively. It's frustrating as hell, I can't even begin to imagine a 100% run. And while the post-apocalyptic world presented is pretty, if you're hoping for any lore or answers or meaning, just give up now. There's none to be had.

Fun puzzle game with a unique concept.
Ough its so good i love the vibe its just so charming and of course the gameplay is really unique
A small but very well done little game with a fantastic twist on traversal game play. Super satisfying to erase your little amoeba to grow it in a specific direction, thus moving it forward. It took me a bit to get used to it, but then felt really good once I got the hang of it. Does become really tricky towards the end but then the end itself felt very satisfying. Quite nice visual story telling as well.
I've been wanting to play this for a decade now, when I first added this to my wishlist 10 years ago.
Recommend:
- Unique mechanic that not many games have ever done.
- Cool puzzles half the time.
- Makes me want to be an amorphous slime.
- The difficulty is very forgiving most of the time, checkpoints everywhere and boss health stages are kept between attempts.
- The game visuals are awesome, it's a nice looking game.
Not Recommended:
- Stupid precision platforming segments.
- Bad puzzles half the time.
- Lack of control, which is the whole gimmick of the game but sometimes the camera itself is your biggest enemy.
- Brute forcing tends to work for most puzzles, just go ham on deleting behind self and suddenly you pop through whatever puzzle it was.
- Feels like a programmer game that got an art pass and shipped without much testing, I got softlocked at the credits because the player input got disabled during the credits cinematic but the steam overlay opening signal made the game pause so I couldn't unpause it anymore, had to redo the epilogue puzzle and rewatch most of the credits. (Really good art though, pretty game)
- The music is obnoxious, some kind of experimental genre, probably interesting a decade ago when it came out but today it just sounds randomly generated by an AI. I imagine that it's probably like those mushroom electrical signal music blasting the same 2-3 notes on repeat, at the end it was droning in my ears and was glad the game was over.
- I will not get 100% achievements, it's not the fun kind of completionism but instead the masochist perfectionism type of achievements.
If you like unique platformers, this is worth for the unique experience, but be prepared for designed intended jank.
Game was fun until i reach chapter 7(The Last Stage of the GAME).....then i just gave up...the puzzle started getting WAY WAY too hard im actually wondering if even the Dev could actually make it, getting stuck for 10-20+mins doesn't make for fun gameplay, if at least they were ways to get around a difficult objectives but no...there a basically nearly only a single option to clear most puzzle and it rely on a bit of skill and a ♥♥♥♥ truck of luck. It was a fun concept that just ended up being way too complicated.

This was a very fun and challenging game I had in my library for a long time before I ever realized what kind of game this is. Its a sentient fungus traversal game, with some traversal combat. The bosses are unique and the challenges are real. If you can figure out some controls that work well, this game is very fun.
Unique and polished. Definitely gets harder than expected after a point, you will need decent reflexes and coordination to clear some areas.

This game has been out for almost a decade now - and, wow, i didn't fully realize that until now - and it is very, very underrated. I remember watching the trailer as a kid and buying the game, getting through all the chapters over a few weeks one or two hours at a time, and then forgetting about it.
Recently, i've been returning to old games in my Steam library to 100% them, and I forgot just how much of a hidden gem this game is. Yes, the difficulty scales up exponentially and the later levels definitely feel.. disproportionately difficult, but I think it's a nice challenge. Additionally, the achievements aren't easy either; beating all the levels without dying once? Well, the last three chapters(five, six, and seven) deathless are the most rare achievements in the game, so that says something.
Regarding the gameplay: it's very fun! The puzzles gradually get more and more complex, and like all good puzzle games, sometimes the solution is right there infront of you without you realizing it. However, this is also a platformer, which adds another layer of difficulty, especially if you're doing something over a lava pool or other hazard. This game does require skill, and the curve is pretty steep, but when you've made it? So, so worth it.
The story is vague and in the background, if you really want to figure it out you'll need to go through all the levels multiple times just to get the pieces, let alone put together the full picture. I haven't figured it out, and dont fully intend to, but it definitely seems interesting. The game is post-apocalyptic, edging on post-post-apocalyptic. I personally adore post-post apocalyptic games, if my glowing review on Rain World(which might not even be post-post-apocalyptic, actually, but I think of it as such) says anything. (its a joke review, but I've got over 700 hours on it)
Overall, most people will enjoy this game, though its unlikely for people to go back through it and try to get all the achievements after seeing the difficulty. The people who won't enjoy this game are those who play casual, low-risk games and don't have a lot of patience. The world state is saved even when you 'die', so you can usually beat a level just by trial and error, which requires patience. If you're ready to get frustrated, confused, and feel stupid when you couldn't figure out the puzzle only for it to be simple and easy, then you're in luck. Buy the game, try it out, it doesn't even cost that much. If you're a well-known youtuber, maybe make a video on it? I'd like for this game to get a bigger audience; even if it is a decade old by now, it certainly hasn't lost its charm.
This game is honestly pretty cool! The premise of being this slime creature that moves and shapes itself with the mouse is a neat idea and how it plays out in most of the levels are a blast. I always kinda like the idea of becoming some goo monster in a video game that fiddles around with puzzles and getting into a bizzare atmosphere with fungi and decay of an old civilization of the past.
The gameplay was fun for the most part but however there were many parts in the game that felt way too annoying with how some of the puzzles played out. Some required some decent thinking while others felt as if you had to mess around until something worked and that could be both good and bad (Mostly bad). Most don't really tell you what to do nor give you any hints, so you had to mostly wander around and jumble until something worked. Ikinda wished there was a better way in taking some of the puzzles and either simplifying it or give the player a little stool to help them. I'm not saying to make the puzzles easy, I just felt that some asked for a little too much time and effort to pass (especially the purple dot puzzles on every level).
The world building was also cool too. Granted, it is set in this post apocalyptic world where mankind went extinct and now the whole world is crumbling down with the surviving lifeforms conquering the world, a concept that has been done to DEATH alot in stories. However, I did like finding little hints of how society was before and how it lead to it's downfall but I kinda felt there should be more to explain the whole story. Most of it left like some big puzzle that was only 60% completed and not enough was being told. Either it was the devs plan to not reveal too much to lead to creative theories online or what, it was still fun.
The music was also good too. it felt very fitting with each level and I don't think I have any complaints with it. It did it's job and it did it fine.
To end it: It was good. I still felt like the puzzles needed to be adjusted a bit but i still found the game fun.

cool game, short enough, can be a bit tricky but nothing too hard in here.
Unique gameplay, probably not for those of you that get pains in your hands.
The game relies on unique mechanics and twists them along the way by adding puzzle variations to the main theme. It was very difficult at times, and personally I gave up on the level where you use the fungus to steer rockets, but that is my problem. The game is an indie gem for sure.
controls are so janky, most of the game is about struggling with the controls, other half is about hoping that the damn mushroom extends far enough.
the epilouge was almost 30 minutes of me trying to finish it but just bouncing around thanks to the godawful water physics.
music was alright tho.

Mais cette difficulté ahurissante à certains moments, y'a vraiment de quoi s'arracher les cheveux (et les poils du luc par la meme occasion), sans parler des succés totalement aberrant du genre "no death run", sur les premieux niveaux ça va, mais je veux meme pas imaginer la frustration sur le level 7, tu passe deux heures de souffrance mentale et physique, tu creve juste avant la fin et tu dois te retaper toute la torture que tu viens de subir ? Ma va fanculo ! donc, une excellent concept reservé au masochistes +++.

Do not trust any reviews that say the game is too hard: that's an actual skill issue. The game is fun and challenging, but I didn't feel FRUSTRATED until the very last level. Even then, I pushed through and succeeded. This game has a great concept that it executes perfectly, it doesn't stick around too long to overstay its welcome, and you get a cute little ending that wraps up the metaphor.

A fun and occasionally quite challenging puzzle game with a very unique 'negative space' gameplay mechanic. A few of the puzzles are infuriating and come down to very strict timing, but apart from that the game is pretty fun.
Fun game, great graphics, and original gameplay. Can be very frustrating at times and sometimes relies on being lucky rather than skill, but that's the only downside.

While there are a few moments that rely a little too much on finicky physics, it's still a good, fun puzzle game that gives you a single, straightforward tool and doesn't stop until it has competently shown you everything it can be used for.
Gameplay aside, it has a nice score, fantastic atmosphere with a style that can switch from bleak to vibrant just screens apart. Lots of visual imagination on display here.

Very original platformer where you play not with a character, but with a post-apocalyptic mass. The mass adapts to the surfaces in such a way that you need to think where to move / expand it.
It's very original and different from the thousands of platformers on Steam. Starts easy (as every game should) but soon you'll find that it really is a challenge to reach some places that looked easy at first glance. It's not about the reflexes, it's about planning how to get there.
This game has a cool atmosphere and interesting control mechanic. The game offers a good verity of different ways solve the puzzle which is a bit surprising considering the limitations of the control mechanic. There are boss fights that were a nice way to end the chapters. There were a couple parts in the game I was getting frustrated with the controls but I was able to make it work. Overall Mushroom 11 is a great game.

Neat little puzzle game. Nothing amazing, quick little 6 hour romp, maybe more if you go for all the collectibles. Not great on the wrist though with so much repetitive flick movement but its well crafted, atmospheric and a unique mechanic.
After playing this game, I find mushrooms more nutritious.

J'avoue j'étais dubitatif au départ, mais au final un bon petit jeu de réflexion (et un peu d'adresse) très prenant.
Les décors et l'ambiance ont un bon rendu.
Tricky game, reminiscent of World of Goo with difficult physics puzzles you navigate by erasing cells from a fungus.
The mushroom is like a slightly inept version of the monster from Carrion, where instead of going towards where you click, it goes away from it.
Unlike other fluid puzzle platformers, like Puddle from 2012, if you stop erasing cells the fungus will act as a solid, stuck in whatever pose you've moulded it in - this kind of manipulation is used for latching onto objects to solve the puzzles.
The game is perhaps a bit too hard for its own good, I would say some of the bosses are more difficult than they need to be, but that's just part of the charm really. Would be known as a classic rage game if it were more popular. Worth a play, if just once to experience it.
I'm pretty sure this came from a Humble Bundle. I really enjoyed this game. Its been in my backlog for a long time. I think its a great puzzle game. My favorite ones were where you have to mold slowly across gaps. A truly great indie game if you like puzzles. None of it was too hard to be off putting, but some of them had me stumped for a bit. It seems to have really flown under the radar as I have seen nothing on YT or heard about it at all which is a shame.
Really unique mechanic of using your cursor to maneuver green fungus. Would recommend the game solely on that as well but as with all things, it ain't perfect.
My biggest complaint is during the later stages, the difficulty is more set on finicky and precise moves which I guess is the logical conclusion to take with regards to the central mechanic but man, does it get frustrating (and not the good type either). Might be my perception of time taking a hit but the very last level of Mushroom 11 felt like it lasted considerably longer than it had any right to be.
But hey, you get to fight a giant shrimp.

This game is challenging.
That being said, it is one of the most unique and best games I have ever played.
Although there is no hand-holding, the difficulty level progresses from an easy beginning to a very very challenging end (mostly in select puzzles from Chapter 5 onward). The puzzles are easy to follow, but require skill to conquer. And the checkpoints are placed regularly enough so you never get too far behind if the organism "dies".
The mechanic of erasing to grow is executed wonderfully, and there are varied applications in consistently new puzzles throughout the game. Growth is random, which is its own challenge to master, especially in puzzles where a precise shape must be attained. I used a drawing tablet instead of a mouse to control the eraser, which worked wonderfully and kept my hand free from cramps.
The visual style is exquisite in every regard, capturing the feel of a dead world perfectly. There are no mis-matching or resized textures to distract from immersion. And the organism you "control" is a lovely conglomeration of art as well. Sound design is good too, very subtle and calming.
I'm always looking in reviews to see if the playtime is worth the price, so I'll mention that it isn't a long game, and you should probably wait for a sale. Replay time for the achievements will surely be much longer, if anyone is loyal enough to try for them. Getting 100% achievements is a challenge I'm personally looking forward to, and also quite daunted by. But this is a game I'm happy to come back to again and again, even if I take long breaks. :)

This is not just a game about being a mushroom, or a weird slime. This is a game about controlling a colony. A hivemind. It's freaking brilliant, and they did a great job of finding many ways to make levels where the base mechanic is interesting. This is a fascinating game. I think the author knew the concept was good, and unique, and they did the concept justice.

Wow. This game is hard. I'm not sure what kept me coming back to play it when some bits seemed impossible at times! The mechanics were unique, crimping and cajoling your organism into all manner of shapes to progress. If you're a big fan of difficult puzzle games where something might take ten times, pick it up. Otherwise leave well alone! 8/10 (Played on Steam deck)

Probably a mobile puzzle game by today’s standards, interesting sounds and soundtrack, it’s not exactly a platformer type but requires some dexterity to maneuver the blob.

- Музыка хороша [всё ж FSOL, не хухры-мухры]
- [САМОЕ ГЛАВНОЕ] Игра честно отрабатывает свой номер [нет самоповторов, искусственного затягивания, а есть наичестнейшее и наизобретательнейшее использование своей собственной игровой механики]
- Несколько не проста в освоении [но тут как с велосипедом - освоив раз, потом никогда не разучишься...]

This is a game that you can describe as, "Instant Topiary Simulator".
Basically, you can erase blocks of the "mushroom" and they will grow back on another part of the mushroom.
And you have to go through multiple puzzles using those mechanics, traversing traps, and collecting what looks like DNA hidden around the puzzles.
8/10 Great game
The idea of platforming as a blob is really novel idea, but the actual execution of the game was frustrating to play. The panic of holding down the mouse button and furiously scooting your mouse around to get through a puzzle went from interesting to infuriating in about 30 minutes. I could frequently know what the solution to a particular puzzle was, but would fail over and over to move over something because I didn't wiggle the mouse fast enough.
Controls are everything in a game, so failing puzzles you know the answer to due to controls is a cardinal sin in game design to me. I could see this being a somewhat better title on a touch screen.

The mechanic is pretty interesting but your mileage will vary depending on your mouse. Came back to this one 5 years later with a good "gamer" mouse and found it to be surprisingly fun this time as opposed to my first impression.
a lot of the level design in this game feels actively hostile relying almost entirely on RNG for many parts of it. i could not even count the amount of time i was trying to cross a death pit and one small part of me falls off and suddenly the game decides to make that my main mass and teleport all of me into that one tiny spec that was falling into the void causing me to die. many parts require becoming long and thin but often you will spend 5 minuets shaving off one side then the other just hoping it will finally put the mass where you want it. novel idea, bad execution.
Unique, chill, and interesting.
Absolutely fantastic game. Sometimes you need to sculpt your shroom slowly and carefully, sometimes you need to go fast and hope you can make it. Playing with physics is super fun, though frustrating at times :) Relaxing music and beautiful backgrounds create a specific, bizarre atmosphere. What else could you possibly want?

Novel mechanic where you erase to to move forward, extremely fun!
if you're into games that take a single mechanic as far as possible, and you like physics based gameplay...this might be just what you're looking for. there were some genuinely surprising obstacles / feats that the game required for main path completion. it's a challenging game, looks like only 7% saw the end of the journey. i had fun seeing what my little mushroom was capable of!
after about 4 hours completing the main path, i'm satisfied. i don't think i'll go for 100%.

Beware: This is more of a platformer/adventure game than a puzzle game. The "puzzle" aspect is mostly figuring out how to move the slime in the way you want it to move. You don't actually control the slime, you control where the slime is not. This can lead to some janky behavior at times.

Кажется, что это очень странное управление - даже двигаться вперёд не так просто. Но на самом деле это даёт немалый потенциал. Свернуться в шар? Протянуться мостом? Стать трамплином для снаряда? Отделить автономную часть? Крутить шестерню всем своим телом? Да запросто! Ваше тело в вашем распоряжении.
Боссы. Боссы здесь устроены по принципу "слабых мест" - пытаетесь доползти до, к примеру, вражеского глаза, бьёте его - враг умирает. Но у босса таких точек несколько, некоторые уничтожаются лишь бомбами, другие открываются на пять секунд, а третьи и вовсе нужно особым образом открывать и лишь потом ломать.
Графика приятная, качественная, но притом простая.
Сложность - игра в целом простая, но последние три уровня вполне могут потрепать вам нервишки.
Вердикт: Игра хорошая, но подойдёт не каждому.
really good 11th entry to the mushroom cinematic universe
It would be awesome to play this on a touchscreen, but clicking and dragging the mouse over and over in hopes of squishing the jelly forward is not fun and makes my index finger sore. Other than that, the game ran great on Ubuntu Linux. It had excellent music, sound effects, and background graphics.
good gameplay concept but boring
For those appreciative of titles like "World of Goo", this one is for you. It has a very simple and yet hard to master mechanic that allows for a range of different challenges. Throughout 7 chapters your creativity, patience and dexterity will be put to test in puzzles that sometimes look too hard to be right :P.
It has very pretty and detailed backgrounds and is short enough to be completed in a single run (given you are not worried about getting all achievements, in which case I have no idea how long it may take since some of the optional collectibles were too hard for me hehe)
