Interesting concept, but the execution makes it feel unenjoyable. While the odd physics can make for fun moments, the vast majority of the time it simply causes frustration, especially with the low amount of shots and the inability to try the same level and set again after dying, which leaves no room to learn without major punishment. Additionally the controls leave a lot to be desired, having everything on the keyboard feels cramped and awkward, and strangely enough, older versions do have the option to use a mouse for aiming and swapping, which was much better when I tried it. The only flaw I found with the old mouse control is the inability to actually turn with the mouse, but that may have just been to make sure you didn't get an advantage with mouse control. Oddly enough newer versions no longer have the option to enable mouse control, despite the angles mouse control gives being identical to keyboard control.

While I enjoy the concept, the overall game design choices and physics ruin the experience for me. 4/10

At some point in the last few puzzle games or platformers I've been through, I realized the point of it all was to explore virtual metaphysical interaction states. In layman's terms, the way that made-up objects can combine their behaviors to reach unexpected, interesting and fun outcomes. This game completely foregoes conceptual or mechanical level progression in favor of rapid-firing scenarios with its toolset (with the exception of making the last level of a set longer, for funsies). My first two sessions were 2 and 7 hours, respectively :)

This is one of those amazing rare gems.

All levels and tools are randomized every run.
There are a few times that me and buddy had to give up because we honestly didn't think completing the level with our given tools was possible, but that is the closest I could even get to a negative of this game, and it has only happened 3-4 times in my 24+hrs.

It is INSANELY entertaining to figure out how to complete a level in crazy/creative ways,
sometimes you will pull off the most insane plays you never thought were even possible.
The more you understand each tool, the more crazy the plays you can pull off combining tools together.
I truly cannot express in words how it feels when you think you are stuck so you go for a hail-marry play, only for it to work better than you could have imagined.
You really do have to be creative.

This has become one of my favorite games as it is sorta chill (in a non-FPS game way) but also so satisfying and rewarding.
Make no mistake, the game is not "easy", it does require an amount of skill/control, however I just find this adds to that rewarding feeling for completing a level

I would HIGHLY recommend playing this with a buddy, there is ample amount of replay-ability, and LOADS of good laughs and screams.

When you first start playing it can be confusing as you don't know what any of the items do, or how to use them efficiently, but once you get a very basic understanding, it becomes a puzzle game like nothing else

fantastic, any reviews talking about how it's "obnoxious" obviously don't see the point of "hostile" in the description.
it is supposed to be unfair, and that's why winning feels so good, because instead of the lock and key style other immersive sims have, you have to think- it's like a puzzle.
they even say themselves that sometimes it's unwinnable.
and if you don't like the layer 2 items... disable them. it's that easy.

This game is among the funniest games I have to play with friends ! The randomness of the tools and the levels is a really fun concept, trying to cope with what you get is hilarious.

Additionally, the game may be hard sometimes, but you can play even with non-gamer friends, and grinding the hard parts with the different objects is what keeps the game entertaining

It's... quite obnoxious.

So like, yes: it's completely random, and that's the point.
But that doesn't make it FUN, it just makes it FRUSTRATING.

Unless you really like playing broken games with terrible physics, and then trying to force and contort the game to let you jank your way through something, this is probably not for you.
It's basically that frustrating experience in budget games where you have to glitch out the physics because the designer messed up the scripting logic and the door didn't open for you, and then they made a whole game about that bug.

Mosa Lina is the RNG puzzle game. Your selections of tools are randomized, the selection of levels is randomized, elements in those levels are randomized, even the credits are randomized. Does that mean it's so finely crafted that any selection of tools can beat any selection of levels…NO! But that's kinda the fun of it.

I don't understand why there are so many positive reviews. Some levels are impossible to pass with certain skills. There's no sense of progression in the game either. Every time I start, it feels like I'm starting a new game from scratch, but it's not. It would have been better if you had divided the game into levels, like in "Baba Is You," and given skills specific to those levels. I don't know. I can't say I enjoyed it. Maybe the only reason is that I don't know how many puzzles I have left to solve, and that bothers me.

Genuinely one of the best things I've ever played.

So many beautiful, fun, wholly improvisational gameplay interactions going on in every situation. A great game to boot up and mess around in. Lots of freedom in solutions and player expressivity, at the slight cost that sometimes there seems to be no way out. Or seems, because you will somehow get out of those seemingly unwinnable situations more times than you'd expect.

And then the multiplayer takes it a whole new level. Play this with someone you trust, because it will take intense cooperation to get anywhere.

Honest review: The game is fun but can feel equally frustrating as it does enjoyable. Much of the jank mechanics that make it fun to try and use to your advantage can also happen to create impossible levels or feel extremely unfair. Its fun as a mindless game, but there are better out there.

some of the most satisfying and addictive puzzle solving gameplay ever, and a very therapeutic experience. you very quickly come to terms with the fact that the levels will sometimes just not be possible to beat with your tools at hand, and that's okay! learning all of the tricks and the movement tech of the game is very fun, and almost every run of the game will feel like a trance once you know what you're doing.

I do not recomend this game, theres too many instances were you are softlocked and have to restart. Progress doesnt save either. This game, to me, is a jumbled mess with no direction. Theres almost too much "random" to the point where the games not fun.

You only fun in this game if your lucky. This game dissapointed me.

Если задуматься, то эта игра работает на очень глубоком уровне не так, как большая часть игр в принципе. Обычно игры ставят перед тобой какую-либо задачу и дают для ее решения инструменты, которыми ее заведомо можно решить. Mosa Lina же ставит перед тобой задачи и дает случайный набор инструментов, и уже на плечах игрока лежит задача разобраться, как с помощью этих инструментов решить поставленную задачу. Но в то же время поражает, что при этом почти всегда из ситуации можно выйти тем или иным способом, неважно какие инструменты выдала игра. Так или иначе, это замечательная игра, которая действительно стимулирует воображение, ведь проходя очередной уровень ты можешь быть уверен, что прошел не заранее прописанную разработчиком головоломку, а вышел из ситуации, которую разработчики скорее всего даже не видели. Эта игра даже спустя 10 часов в каждом забеге подкидывает мне ситуации, которых я до этого не встречал, и каждое прохождение финального уровня дает такой дофаминовый приход, который другие игры дать не способны. Однозначно рекомендую, наверное, вообще кому угодно.

This is a true endlessly replayable game. Mostly because you either suck or the game just won't let you win lol
But then there are those moments, where you beat the odds and you feel an absolute rush of accomplishment.
Very easy to pick up and play then put down if you need to, has gotten me through many a depressive episode even with my low playtime. Absolute recommend

Very creative and interesting game! If you enjoy open-ended and physics based puzzles, definitively worth picking up. I also really appreciate the experimental and simultaneously arcade-y nature of it, that you can just boot it up, play some levels and not worry about missing anything. Amazing work!

What a delightfully and truly random platformer.
Alone it's too frustrating but with a friend you can at least laugh at

I cannot write a compelling enough paragraph for this game. Incredible puzzles that challenge you every time with borderline infinite content. Multiplayer is also incredible and I have never played with someone who hasn't enjoyed it. So worth the price, would recommend

It’s pure perfection, a truly hidden gem. I can’t fully describe what this game makes me feel. In its simplicity lies its beauty, and it’s clear it was made by someone who truly understands what gameplay is in its purest form, letting the player simply exist and play.

Randomness here isn’t just about shuffling cards or changing orders. It lives in the physics, in experimentation, in adaptation. It’s the core of the experience, the backbone around which everything else is articulated.

When you play, you genuinely feel like you’re beating the odds. The game pushes you to be creative because creativity isn’t optional, it’s the only way forward. You can build routines or develop specific ways to use tools, but chaos will always arrive to force you into a tougher, unfamiliar scenario.

I especially loved the first session, and it felt like the game understood that. Randomness plays a key role here too: no session resembles the previous one, and every run brings a real sense of novelty through new tool combinations.

As a developer, this is what I believe games should strive to be. It’s a masterclass in design by subtraction, a perfect use of physics, and something that connects deeply with a very human side of the player.

And above all of that, co-op is a perfect addition.
