This is great with friends, and I like how the game's format basically narrows it down to guessing, even if you play well. This is hilarious as you get to figure out which of your friends sounds like they're lying the most. You will lose relationships over this game though, be warned. 7/10

Still a BANGER game in 2025, my friends and I are the only active player base at night. If you have 6-8 friends and can run a custom lobby (because no one plays online), please download the game and give it a try! This game was peak and still is an amazing time with friends. 10/10

Game is dead so you kinda have to play with friends- but this is by far the best social deception game ive ever played and i dont really like the genre but I LOVED THIS GAME. Not gonna leave a negative review because the only downside is the current player count but still very much playable with friends.

Sad to see how greedy devs killed this game, I used to LOVE this game so much since i didn't have a good computer to play in back then, it was a great experience and if it by any chance becomes kinda alive again, please play it.
The game is dead, but if there were ever a surge. then the game is good and fun, if you like deduction games.
Might be one of the best deduction games out there for friends. It only gets better the more angry you get for your own delusions!

Similar to Among us, but I knew this game first. I enjoy the graphics and music, but impossible to get a game without joining their discord server which requires your phone number. I'm trying to give less information to strangers, so that's a bummer for me. Please get active again! Ad your game to forums and gamer platforms! Advertise your game and have a team to play for a few months so It can get active again. An idea is you can advertise the game to college Psychology majors and classrooms! See if some professors would be willing to make a project on the idea of "Lie" and "Deception". You could start a very strong player base this way.

I do not remember the last time I had a good experience with it and its a damn shame, I really like the artstyle and even background music, but it's not worth your time unless they try and foster a better community.

When the game was more active it was fun, the game itself still is, my problem is the current community that exists for it now. If you are going to play this, play with friends because the people online in my experience so far have been some of the worst people I've come across since I tried League years ago and thankfully put it down. The last game I played I was accused of being an alternate account for someone else in-game because I kindly asked them to play instead of argue about their previous shared match. Toxic community, great game, you hate to see it.

This game is a masterpiece, a hidden gem beneath the crumbling genre that is social deduction. It avoids the overcomplication of power roles and game events to focus on the crude part that is reading other players messages and their actions. While games like Town of Salem can feel unfair and unfun in many moments depending on your luck, i've never felt the same while playing a match of Mindnight, and those who are hooked by the essence of social deduction games should not face this issue (as long as you can find friends to play this game with or find a public match, which might be impossible). The simplicity of this game may be the single most damning point of the experience; the lack of flashy-ness and power given to a player can be a very rough point for one starting the game, hence the dwindling playerbase. This may cause some "unique experiences", where certain players adopt a playstyle that remains on the edge from creativity to straight-up griefing.
In 2024 and beyond, as long as the playerbase remain minuscule as it is now, i'd recommend playing this game with friends that do have a genuine passion for social deduction games. One option that could also work is by playing it phisically; the simplicity of roles and turns of each match make so that the only thing one would need would be a few pieces of paper and a pen. Regardless, it's a worth experience

Fun social deception game
definitely the best game i've ever played. i got "addicted" to it as soon as i installed it, even though there were no games at all for a while when i joined. brought some friends, played with the community (which was at the time the best community i've ever met), spent every night playing this and it was always fun.
competitive seasons offered a new and interesting ranking system that was supposed to give the community something new and fun to do and to attempt to revive the game, but that is about to destroy the game and the community. the games turned from fun to play and chill players to boring games with a ton of tryharders.
also, call out an obvious thrower, they get turned into the victim of a toxic player and instead you constantly get tormented by everyone to the point that they break virtually all rules and make you leave and hate the game.
unless something changes, you'd better get your friends and play, since those chill games don't exist anymore.

I wish I got mindnight went it was still alive because the community now is bad, its filled with some of the most Petty, entitled individuals i've ever seen. Honestly, if you are gonna play, get friends, don't play with randoms, Go to Purge Dilemma instead, its filled with Europeans, but its way better than this community. P.s Avoid the Competitive discord, its filled with intolerable people.

I stopped player 3 years ago under the pretense that there were players that would queue up and consistently metagame outside information from previous experiences and sometimes just for their friends such as "I know them, they dont do that." in their own unique wording. Alongside some players that just queue in to simply not talk at all or the players that would play just to throw for their friends by securing on node 5 or the final node for agents.
This game got an announcement about competitive seasons so i got on to play casually just to see what lasted in the community or how it is current day. Only to spend a several matches watching a player go on about how his "main account" was getting unbanned, then proceed on in the next 3-4 match to the exact same issues from 3 years ago while he argued and gaslit another player right after the exact words of "Bess doesn't usually hack Node 1" and proceeded to refuse acknowledging how that sentence was an issue for fair and respectful gameplay while claiming he was a victim of "dickriding".
There is no real solution to this kind of metagaming other than playing more compatible games that arent binary teams such as Town of Salem or the newer released social deduction games as the players that still stay dedicated to this game defend the act of utilizing outside of game, and prior game information for their wins.
tl;dr for players that are like me coming back to this game hoping the community grew past this issue. They didnt, its still a boys club for metagamers to be rewarded.

game was fun, but it seems to be more or less dead now - hardly surprising. the game, in and of itself, was fun, but as other reviews mention, the playerbase was pretty toxic and generally unwelcoming to new players or those who didn't follow a very strict meta set in place by the community. this didn't really help the game's longevity as the playerbase was already pretty niche. god forbid you played with any friends and randoms, because if you did, the randoms would immediately accuse you of cheating, even if you honestly and vehemently denied this. it was fun while it lasted.
