Nobody knows this game even exists. If there was SOME kind of marketing, ANY kind of marketing, I'm sure this would be able to draw in a crowd but as it stands, there's NO playerbase whatsoever and what there is is mostly cheaters because the Devs have no reason to pay attention to this game.
TL;DR: A soul paining amount of lost potential sitting in the void.

Ох, ребят, это больная тема. Midnight Ghost Hunt — игра, которая могла стать легендой. Знаете эти типичные прятки, где одна команда охотников, вторая — призраки, и вы бегаете, используете способности, устраиваете засады? Вот тут это было сделано реально весело. Графика норм, карт дофига, геймплей завязан на приколах и способностях, разработчики даже сейчас иногда контент подкидывают.
Но что пошло не так — я хз. Игра банально не взлетела. На релизе онлайн был пара тысяч, думали, ща раскачается. А он за месяц скатился до 100 человек в среднем. Потом до 50. А сейчас? Идите на SteamDB, посмотрите сами масштаб катастрофы: 5–25 человек онлайна в среднем. Это не игра, это кладбище.
Да, там есть боты. Но, Карл, это не то. Боты тупые, предсказуемые, с ними скучно. Атмосфера азартной охоты, где каждый раунд непредсказуем, пропадает нафиг.
И вот тут встает вопрос ачивок. Они в этой игре — просто издевательство. Все построены по принципу: «убей 250 раз тем-то», «сделай 250 раз то-то». Ну серьезно? Вы серьезно предлагаете мне набивать 250 убийств в игре, где онлайн — 5 человек, а ботов пинать — себя не уважать? Нет уж, сорян.
Я не знаю, ставить ли диз за мертвость или лайк за идею. Поставлю лучше лайк, чтобы не плевать в игру лишний раз. Потому что задумка была годная, реализация на старте тоже радовала. Но что вышло в итоге — разработчики по сути забили, игроки разбежались, остался только труп с неподъемными ачивками.
Покупать не советую ни для чего. Ни для соло, ни для коопа — там тупо нет онлайна. Логично, что я довыдал эти достижения и закрыл вопрос. Жалко, но факт.
Оценка: 4 из 10. Чисто за то, какой игра была в лучшие времена. Сейчас — пустой звук.

Esse jogo é muito bom, a parte triste é só que você passa horas procurando um lobby e não encontra, a comunidade simplesmente abandonou o jogo, acredito que porque inicialmente não era tão balanceado o jogo, não sei como está hoje em dia, mas espero que os devs não desistam e que a comunidade recupere o interesse pelo jogo.

The game is really really fun except the updates are basically zero and no marketing as well, which means no players. Like really it just gets you queue up with bots. So I would say buy it if you have friends and play in your own lobbies

I know on steam it shows I have 76 hours in the game, but I have hundreds more on the Epic Store version (got it free from there, and got the steam version because at one point crossplay didn't work well between clients).
Midnight Ghost Hunt is a prop hunt style game where you play as a Ghost or a Hunter. The ghosts can jump into any item on the map and take control, with some props (like taking over a dinosaur head) gives you an extra ability. Hunters have until the clock hits midnight, and when that happens all ghosts that were dead will respawn and the hunters will become the hunted. And this game replaced the annoying *whistle* mechanic with the new ectoplasm mechanic (If you stay still too long you will start glowing for the hunters. You have to move or taunt to reduce the buildup).
As of right now the game should be considered dead. At most in a day there may be 7 people online.
I want to clarify that I absolutely loved this game, the prop hunt genre is just too good of a game mode and I was glad there is a dedicated standalone game to play it with. Besides a few issues this game was amazing when it first came out. If you plan on getting this game, make sure you already have friends to make a lobby with, as you will probably be queueing for a good hour before finding a random. But for those who aren't sure if they should get it I will break it down.
Pros:
-Great gameplay loop
-Item diversity
-playing gameboy in van
-Not really monetized, every cosmetic can be earned from playing
-Spectators can still interact with players
-Maps all feel different and are well designed
-Lots of meme ways to kill each other
-Poltergeist
-You have the ability to project your in-game voice in any direction you want (Really fun)
-The game is mostly balanced
Cons:
-Dead Servers
-Game skews towards hunters to win
-Updates aren't regular anymore except for some bug fixes
-Most randoms don't use in game voice
-For the few players left they are some tryhards
This game could easily make a comeback. Release a big update, revamp some of the system, advertise and players will come crawling back I gurantee it. I really want to believe in that.
As for now, if you want to know if this game is worth it, get it if you have friends who want to play it. Otherwise, wishlist it and pray they update this game.

This is truly an underrated game, the mechanics and execution are absolutely fantastic and it's hard not to enjoy it. I think the lack of players is that the game hasn't quite taken off among streamers like many others have.

Hasn't been updated in forever. Steam multiplayer won't work, and Epic Game Services is GARBAGE. Works, kinda, but crashes a lot, won't link accounts properly. Just sad a game like this has such potential, but never fully fixed crappy multiplayer... :(
I never thought a melee vs gun game would be so balanced, replayable, and fun. This is one of those hidden gem games that should be played all night with a group of friends.
If you’re looking to be competitive in any way or even just win you’re gunna have a bad time. This game is super unbalanced in an unfun way. It’s crazy fun in a private lobby with your friends messing around but pubs are really hit and miss depending on how bad the other team wants to win because the winning strategies are never the fun ones in this game

Sadly most of the negative reviews are just people complaining the public servers aren't very active, which is hardly the games fault.
No players, bots are stupid, limited content, can't get a refund now don't get this game. I've only player a public game with one other person in it. Yay, amazing multiplayer game. Bots literally stand where I'm hiding and don't do anything. Even for the low price I bought it at I would 100% not recommend it.

This is a pretty fun prop hunt style game with ways to kill the ghost hunters. Had a lot of fun with it. Nothing too crazy or spectacular here, but it played and ran well.

the hunters side is alright but ghost you can only hide or run but ectoplasm goes up to fast and down to slow to hid never mind its near immpossible to garenty that hunters cant see you moveing and runing will mean you just die you cant break sight and cant out run them and once they get close you die so fighting is foolish and onceyou get one hit that horrendous health pool shows its shrunken face so hunters are fun and ghost it doesnt even feel possible to win or in otherwise you failed to make them ande since ghosts are half the game its only half decent half terrible
got as a gift, tried it few times, once solo once with friends and i didnt enjoyed it, wasnt hooking me up to continue playing

Кажется, мы называли это Московские прятки. Смысл такой: есть вода (он ищет), а есть игроки (они прячутся). Вода может найти игрока, но его мало просто найти, нужно его догнать/осалить или вернуться на базу и произнести его имя быстрее самого игрока.
В игре похожий принцип. Ты не просто охотишься на призраков, ты отчаянно пытаешься выжить в этой гонке, потому что тебя уже нашли и идут за тобой. Хитрость и смекалка - твои лучшие друзья.
Game has had issues with the 3rd party launcher/online services for years and the developer has chosen to have customers suffer through homegrown workarounds rather than doing what's right.

I did like this game untill i came back after some time and had to jump through the EPIC game launcher to try and play a game with my son. Then relized like most games that require epic games it's dead as a ghost and wasted a hour messing around trying to play a single game.
You can't revive other ghosts while Doppelganger is active even if you've revealed yourself

Dead game, I just logged on to see 3 total people playing in all of North America. This game came out when the "hide and seek" genre was big and then poof, it died. Don't bother with this game, unless you like playing with bots or playing alone.

There are so many positive things about this game, it's so fun, it's gorgeous and so unique despite the basic concept. But as much as I could sing praises to the game it just has a few issues that are ruining the experience.
Steam epic link + cross play and no players. Despite being a problem for over 2 years, the epic steam link seems to not work still. For the life of me it just gets stuck in a loop of “connect epic account, logged in, repeat” and it makes it a pain to play because I get queued with bots repeatedly. It’s just too easy when there’s no players to play with. I really wish the cross play worked better and maybe have a way to look for games in all regions.
Unfortunately it’s only a few issues that make this game boring as hells despite being an amazing gem of a game. I'm so upset to be giving it a negative review but I just can’t recommend the game in this state.
Additionally, when I booted it up to try and fix it (without solution). I now can't play at all, can't load with bots, or players (not that I was queuing with them anyways). Over all great game, but if you want a good experience get it on epic.

One of the best game concepts the game has died if anybody that is a creator of this reads these please do this…. Make the game free to get the player base back I hate that it has to come to this but the game has to be free to get people on, make your money off cosmetics and skins your not making anything now so it won’t hurt you, get a streamer to promote it make a commercial and get people on this game
