just a silly game backthen when i was little cuz, yeah, nothing else on dad's pc office
When I firstly got it, i thought I can grind it within a day, but as it turns out, there is some god awful mechanic of "chasing", and you might clear all of these stages, but you supposted to catch a thief, which as I remember, might not even appear sometimes. It's more about "the ♥♥♥♥ do I do" more than luxor. Visuals are probably OK but it's really not my style, there is like at best 7 levels that do repeat extremely often. The useless "assistance" where ball is very close to the pyramid, it would give you the color of the ball that is about to make you loose the game, and it's not like in Luxor 1-2, where it only sometimes gives you a ball of necessary color, no, this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game gives you 100% of time the ball that is very close to the pyramid. Why is that bad? - Because there is a 2-scarab level where it goes as circle, so if 1 scarab is covering your entire screen, simply by existing at the start of his line, and 2nd scarab is already at the end, you would get a useless color that you can't do anything with. I'm definetly hater of this one, but still gonna grind a 100 hours just for the love of the franchise (and not this game in specific)
Помню в детстве был восхищен этой игрой, и сейчас конечно мнение не поменялось, скажу лишь несколько плюсов и минусов:
Плюсы:
- Практически тот же Луксор 3, слегка отличающийся от него, а именно парочкой новых режимов, да, они не столь прям сложны, но зазеваетесь, и можно легко проиграть, благо можно сколько угодно проигрывать, так как нет ограничений в жизнях, большая часть режимов из третьей части, немного доработанные как по мне;
- Звуки довольно мощные по сравнению с третьим Луксором, но порой громковаты (про громкость отмечу в минусах). Музыка классная, хоть немного недотягивает до стиля Древнего Египта, но все равно хорошая;
- Можно отрегулировать разрешение экрана, даже есть 1920*1080 ( мой моник как раз такого разрешения), по сравнению с третьей частью.
Минусы:
- Баланс громкостей в игре, я хоть и сказал, что звуки мощные, но из за стандартных настроек, они громче музыки, поэтому после вступительной катсцены приходиться идти в меню и отрегулировать звуки и музыку почти на одинаковый уровень. Кстати, в режиме сражения, из за кучи звуков музыка порой перестает играть, а конкретно постоянный стандартный звук появления сфер, не вписывается, лучше бы оставили звук из третьего Луксора, и перебивает все на свете;
- Визуал, да, он стал куда лучше, правда некоторые усиления сильно блюрят экран, зачем. Дизайн сфер из оникса и сферы из энергии зачем то сделали черными с орнаментом, порой так можно закинуть сферу не туда из за этого, поэтому советую юзать деревянные сферы, они просты визуально, и в звуковом плане не такие громкие;
- Баг на карте, ну, иногда не кликается город, благо перезаход через меню фиксит, и еще, немного бесит повторяющиеся диалоги при поимке пророков, получили диск солнца, сказали один раз что надо делать, и всё, не надо каждый раз повторять при выходе на карту, плохо, что они не скипаются;
- Дизайн уровней, довольно мало разнообразия уровней, некоторые прям идентичны по путям;
- Режим сражения, в целом средний, правда финальный босс смешной, могли бы сделать его реально сложным и немного долгим, кампания в целом если скипать большую часть городов, плюс еще удачный исход поимки пророков, то слишком короткая.
В целом игра хорошая, да, есть свои минусы, но поиграть можно, жаль, что на 5 части, разработчики свернули прям не туда, понизив качество игры в целом.
Among the various Luxor match-3 titles, this one actually tries to do something different.
Instead of having a single path to follow you have to decide where to go in a quest to collect pieces of different artifacts as well as battling meddling thieves. There are multiple level modes which freshen up the usual experience a little bit, particularly battles where you have to be faster than the AI in making matches. Moreover, there are no lives so the coins can be used to purchase skins and power up the power ups. Furthermore, a separate and short puzzle campaign makes for a good chance of pace once your adventure is over.
Nonetheless, the experience isn't free of flaws as your companion brings in voice acting that can't be skipped and makes for some mildly annoying waiting times. You may encounter glitches here and there as well as the "weaving" levels which I consider to be among the worst designed in the franchise as they leave you basically up to luck to beat them. This is because new scarabs block your way to older news until the very end and sometimes the scarabs like to go faster for no apparent reason.
If you can get past that and appreciate the usual "Egyptian epicness" vibe that it's going for, then it's totally fine. Then again, there are probably better alternatives to this in the market nowadays.

Where do I even start with this trash heap? Probably the worst Luxor game I've played yet, and most of them are not that good. WORST OF ALL, I STILL HAVE TWO MORE TO GO!
The campaign mode is implemented in a strange way where you have to find 4 "canopic jars" and other artifacts on an open world map instead of the traditional stage/level system. There are a few issues with the overall design, but my main complaint is how the game is mean't to be beaten: I played through the ENTIRE GAME not finding a single canopic jar and didn't know what to do because YOU NEED ALL 4 OF THEM TO BEAT THE GAME. Little did I know, an artifact I had acquired pretty early in the game was supposed to help me find some hidden priests that had the jars. IF ONLY THE GAME EXPLAINED THAT MORE THOROUGHLY INSTEAD OF TELLING YOU TO WAIT TO USE IT, THEN NEVER TELLING YOU TO STOP WAITING OR EVER MENTIONING IT AGAIN!
It gets better though, as once I used the artifact to find and defeat the first priest IT SAID IT WAS F'ING "DEPLETED" AND I AM NOT PLAYING THROUGH ALL THESE HORRIBLY DESIGNED, UNINTUITIVE, CLUTTERED, ANTI-PLAYER MAPS AGAIN TRYING TO FIND SOME WAY TO "RECHARGE" IT OR WHATEVER IT IS I HAVE TO DO. GUESS I'LL NEVER KNOW BECAUSE TO HELL WITH THIS GARBAGE!
I mean holy-moly. I thought game franchises were supposed to improve with each new entry, but if anything, most Luxor games are about the same as or even worse than the previous ones. In Quest for the Afterlife's case, the devs focused to hard on making the game look good which results in cluttered, distracting messes of maps and performance drops from the over-use of special effects. The spheres you are mean't to shoot also behave strangely sometimes, pushing themselves forward quick as all hell for seeming no reason other than the player playing the game a bit too well. Its not fair and HOLY GOD THIS IS A CASUAL MATCH-3 SHOOTER GAME NOT A BIG BUDGET TITLE, LEARN YOUR PLACE FFS! THIS WAS ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS BEHIND THE COLLAPSE OF THE CASUAL PUZZLE GENRE IN THE EARLY 2010s.
I WAS SO ANGRY I DIDN'T EVEN FINISH THE SECONDARY PUZZLE CAMPAIGN TO GIVE THIS GAME A FULL REVIEW. IDGAF ANYMORE I AM ABSOLUTELY TIRED OF THIS SERIES AND THESE TYPES OF GAMES IN GENERAL.
The only thing most of the Luxor games made me realize, is that there a thousand reasons as to why this specific sub-genre of match-3 games died out while others didn't. In my opinion, GOOD RIDDANCE!

かつて盛り上がっていたカジュアルゲームの界隈で、マーブルポッパー（シューティングタイプのマッチ３）というジャンルがあった。LUXORシリーズは、そのころ特に人気のあったマーブルポッパーのシリーズで、この「Luxor: Quest for the Afterlife」は、そのシリーズのなかでも最高傑作と言われているもの。
かなり古いゲームだけど、オプションからフルHDの解像度が選べるので、フルHDまでであればくっきりとした画面で遊ぶことができる。シリーズ中、フルHDで問題なく遊べるものは、この作品のほか、タイトルに「HD」と入っているもの、そして「LUXOR Evolved」があげられるけど、そのなかでこの作品がいちばんバランスがとれていて遊びやすいと思う。
まあ、より現代風にアレンジされた「Evolved」も面白いんだけど、あれはちょっと悪ノリがすぎて肝心のゲーム画面が見えにくくなってるから、Evolvedで遊ぶにしても、順番としてはこの作品のほうが先なんじゃないかなと思う。
ゲームの基本ルールは簡単で、うねうねと曲がったルート上をビー玉がずらずらっと流れてくるのに対して、砲台を動かしてビー玉を撃ちこみ、同じ色が３つ以上並んだら消える。消えた部分は間が詰まるので、詰まった結果また同じ色が３つ以上になればコンボが発生する。コンボが発生するとボーナスが発生して落ちてくるので、それを拾うと点数が増えたり特別なビー玉が撃てるようになったりする。一定の数のビー玉を消したらクリア、ビー玉の列がルートの末端まで到達してしまうとゲームオーバー。
ちなみにプレイ時間が短いのは、もともとBig Fish Gamesでさんざん遊んでいて、Steamで買いなおしたから。

It's good until you get to the City of Babylon, all black balls with a little bit different designs that I couldn't quite make out in time. If your eyesight is a bit weak like mine, you'll never get past that level. I didn't.
Best one in the series, it's visually stunning even to this day, if you're gonna pick one on this series it's definitely this one

Definitely my favourite Luxor game next to Amun Rising. The new feature of travelling around a map and having to backtrack to catch certain enemies whilst also having boss fights and special objects you can utilise now and again is really fun. Had a great time playing it.

My mom loves this game.
I really like the adventure aspect of this version, and the improved graphics are always nice. There are aspects of Luxor 3 that I enjoy more for the actual shooting part of the game. Also, Nefertiti's voice saying, "Well done!" after every golden scarab hit gets a little annoying at times, but all that said, I do enjoy this version and will continue playing it.
It is a decent Luxor match 3 game, but definitely not one of my favorites. I mainly just didn't like the way the levels were set up with towns that you travel to by playing multiple levels and would way prefer liner level setup. In the levels themselves the gameplay is good however.
Works on Linux with Proton (7.0-6), I just had to turn the settings down to low because otherwise it was lagging a bit. Once I done that the game ran without any issues whatsoever.
Pro tip: visiting the upgrade store skips the next-level loading/opening animation

풍뎅이놈들이 여러색의 구슬을 밀고 라인을따라 오는데 내가 그 구슬을향해 구슬을쏴서 매치3해서 부숴서 다 없애면 풍뎅이가 죽고
이런식으로 전부 없애는게 목표입니다
각종아이템도 있고 어떻게 구슬을 배치해놓느냐에따라 콤보를 터트리는맛도있고
가볍게 즐기긴좋습니다
다만 2008년게임이라 전체적으로 싼티나보이는 화질은 어쩔수가없네요
할인율 세개한다면 가볍게 즐기는 게임을 찾는다면 추천합니다

i used to play luxor 2 as a kid but i forgot that there are many other luxor games that i haven`t played, such as luxor 1, luxor 3, luxor quest for the afterlife, amun rising and many more, i have a windows 10 now but sadly only the old luxor games don`t work, only luxor 3 and luxor: quest for the after life, i am still thankful though.

Всем привет. Сегодня будет обзор на игру, которая называется "Люксор: Квест после жизни." Продолжая мусолить игры с названием Luxor, я решил затронуть вот этот замечательный шедевр, который кста тоже что удивительно, запустился на моём железе. И сама эта игра, откровенно отличается уже от старых частей тем, что там появилось ♥♥♥♥♥ много всего нового и игра наконец то взошла в ногу со временем. И я вам расскажу что здесь в этой игре поменялось.
В игре что меня немного шокировало, появился сюжет, который конечно я спойлерить не стану. Если у вас всё в порядке с английским, можете почитать, либо где то скачать русификатор. Потом в игре появились катсцены, которых раньше вообще небыло, причём они ещё и озвучены (как в тех же 3 героях например) .
Ещё в игре появилась возможность искать артефакты, которые разбросаны по частям всей карты (да, теперь помимо Египта, появились другие города, которые когда то существовали в реале, а щас эти города называются как то по другому .
Ну, касаемо музыки то, как играли египетские мотивы так и продолжают, к слову бонусы и всё остальное, которые там были, остались неизменными.Когда я добыл все артефакты, я ожидал что игра на этом закончится, но к сожалению игру я то ли забаговал, то ли мне надо было продолжать её грызть, так как я добыл 2 урны из 4, а красные рога я не видел. ♥♥♥♥♥ не понял, но очень интересно.
Вообщем, буду считать что игру я прошёл, а недочёты идут на 3 буквы .
Я рад был поиграть в Луксор и планирую заканчивать с этой серией игр, потому что у меня впереди ещё Маджонг и 2 ремастера оригинальных 2 частей, поэтому ещё увидимся). Ах да и спасибо моему другу по Теккену 7, по имени "Akimka", за предоставленный подарок. Моя оценка 8 из 10 красных рожек.

Yet another match 3 which has a 'story' shoe-horned into it. The battle mode is pretty neat.
They finally added a resolution picker in this version! Looks far better on higher end displays at native res. There are some scaled assets but the vast majority of the game looks far nicer.

Одна из худших версий Luxor, если не худшая из всех. MumboJumbo попытались "освежить" классический геймплей, добавив в него некое подобие открытого мира - тут есть карта с городами, между которыми можно перемещаться в произвольном порядке и искать части артефактов. Поначалу это все выглядит интересно и создается иллюзия свободы, но на практике эта фича просто искусственно растягивает прохождение игры. За исключением пары финальных уровней, все этапы генерируются случайным образом - а так как уровней в игре от силы пара десятков, при большом "везении" вы будете переигрывать одни и те же сценки по 3 раза подряд.
Механика сбора артефактов плохо разъяснена, какие-то из них дают пассивные бонусы, в то время как другие нужно использовать чтобы поймать воров которые украли саркофаги. Даже собрав все артефакты, части к ним все равно будут периодически появляться на уровнях, что только сбивает с толку. Вернув 3 из четырех саркофагов, игра открывает доступ к новому городу на карте, никак об этом не оповещая игрока - не зная об этом заранее, можно скакать между городами хоть до бесконечности и так никогда не увидеть концовку. Как можно было додуматься до такой фигни в казуальной игре, это уже другой вопрос.
Несбалансированность и непродуманность Luxor: Quest for the Afterlife видна во всем, даже в базовых механиках игры. Выпадающие на уровнях бонусы периодически сбоят, "реверс" не работает если линия из шариков разорвана, рандом "радует" цветовыми бомбами для типов шариков которых нет на экране. Все режимы кроме классического дурацкие и вызывают только глухое раздражение - в одном таком режиме есть столбы которые сокращают путь линий с шариками. Их можно уничтожать, но они восстанавливаются на том же месте буквально через пару секунд и не дают прицелиться до самой финишной прямой. Еще в игру добавили битвы с боссами, но они совершенно дурацкие и работают по своим непонятным правилам.
В итоге Luxor: Quest for the Afterlife превращается в невыносимую нудятину, которую я прошел только потому что я слишком упрямый и не хотел ее бросать на полпути. Может как фоновое развлечение на полчаса со своей музыкой в фоне эта игра и сойдет, но в целом она намного хуже чем предыдущие игры этой серии. Единственное, за что эту казуалку можно похвалить, так за приличную техническую составляющую - Quest for the Afterlife без танцев с бубном работает на Win10 и поддерживает 16:9 разрешения, что очень даже неплохо для игр подобного жанра из 00ых. Однако в целом я эту тягомотину никому не рекомендую, даже по большой скидке и для фанатов жанра. Уж лучше сыграйте в Luxor 3, он намного веселее и занимательнее.

Твою русскоязычную пиратку играют, naxuy, где-нибудь, naxuy, blyad. Она, наверное, на торрентах xyu знает где, naxuy, ♥♥♥♥♥, а дети гибнут на c..., на Стимовской версии, naxyu. Почему так, naxuy? Почему дети должны, они должны дети, эй, вечные дети, naxuy. И xyлe ты pizdish на английском и на французском, suка? Залynaeшься, blyad![/h1]
Или вкратце о моей реакции. Я всё понимаю. Но как в лицензированной версии нет русского языка, а в пиратке есть? Ибо конкретно в этой части без перевода не понятно ни шиша. Какая-то своя дурацкая система с попыткой в какой-то квест на коленке.
И ладно было бы сложно или интересно. Так нет. Просто бред, намеренно растягивающий игру и без перевода не перевариваемый. Да, в игре ещё более гладкие анимации от прошлых частей. Но кроме этого, что? По сути, полная калька с 3 части, но с изменениями в худшую сторону. Какая-то дэбильная карта с брождением туда-сюда по одним и тем же локациям в поисках каких-то артефактов — нудота ужасная. Чтобы тебе выпал артефакт, нужно раз за разом перепроходить буквально одни и те же уровни, в которых, по-моему, даже сложность не возрастает (как это было в прошлых частях).
Есть парочка новых режимов, но и они, честно, бредовые. Например, "[i]Битва[/i]" — по задумке прикольная, а на деле смотрится нелепо, и я вообще не понял, возможно ли в этом режиме проиграть (я ни разу не проиграл, не прикладывая никаких усилий). Я играл на почти максимальном уровне сложности (3 из 4, и то потому что 4 закрыт, пока ты не прошёл игру первый раз, а перепроходить желания ноль), но это всё равно было супер-легко, до скуки. И ощущение, как будто с выбором уровня сложности повышается не, собственно, сложность, а длительность уровня, ибо я уже засыпал буквально, уровни тянутся очень долго, наваливая раз за разом новые тягомотные порции шаров. Локации в этой части тоже почти ничем не запомнились, в прошлой части сочнее было. И пусть тут и была попытка в сюжет, но о нём ничего сказать не могу, да и лучше бы игра на других вещах сосредоточилась.

I had this game on an older desktop and searched high and low for it. I love it. It's an easy way for me to turn my brain off and just play a game. I don't have to think much besides where I'm going to line up a ball and toss it to make matches. This also has a super fun story line to it.
以前就玩过汉化版的，现在玩起来还是觉得很棒，手感好，有常规的养成要素，还有非常规的抓贼要素。剧情什么的也没什么研究，但是非直线型的剧情模式也让游戏更加具有重复可玩性。要说有什么缺点就是出球实在太鸡贼了，有时候真的要被气死。。。

This game definitely doesn't deserve the rating it currently has.It's a great experience for anyone looking to fill some free time or just relax while playing something. Great choice for both gamers and casuals alike, Easy difficulty is as Easy as it should be, and Insane will leave have no mercy on you whatsoever.Among all the Luxor installments, QftA is one of the most varied ones, and the only non-linear adventure. It takes the best elements from Luxor 3 and adds more onto them. Though the entire "catching the thieves" mechanic makes it a bit more difficult for the absolutely casual players, for everyone else traversing the map however they want should add an interesting twist to it.In my opinion this is the second best Luxor game in the series (ex aequo with Luxor 3), but it's only because I grew to like Evolved more for its ultra fast-paced gameplay.I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes action-puzzles and/or taking things slow from time to time.If there was one thing I dislike in this game it's the lategame Onslaught levels, but it's only because I am a speedrunner and these levels are extremely slow to complete.Oh yeah, I wouldn't pay the full price for this though, unless you already know the game. It's on sale from time to time and it's better to get 3 Luxor games at 33% of the price instead of one at 100%, the game ain't exaclty new but it's still tons of fun.

The game is kinda short but it's funnier to play than others. It's very casual. Maybe the easiest among all. A good choice for relaxed gameplay.
Fun game, dont have too think much. Nice game to zone out to and just be in the moment. Love it.
Diese Version entspricht dem Original Luxor Spiel, hat aber hier eine ägyptische Hintergrundgeschichte. Bei dieser soll man einen "Boss" verfolgen und diesen einfangen und kann von Ort zu Ort reisen, indem man die einzelnen Level spielt. Die Story des Spieles kann man abschließen und danach trotzdem weiter "Luxorreisen" unternehmen, wenn man Lust darauf hat.

Played on normal difficulty.
That level with a ship almost ruined the fun. But I persisted and completed the main adventure quest. Completed puzzle mode afterward, which is short but challenging on a few occasions.
Couldn't achieve two in-game achievements. Since there is no description before achieving them, I don't know what they are.
Overall I had a decent fun.
I got this game in a bundle.
Won't recommend on full price. Get this in a sale, if you are a fan of this genre.

Awesome I really loved this game.
I played on easy as I don't like it to be hard and I enjoy casual. I didn't enjoy the levels where there were pillars in the way, that was stressful. I enjoyed getting coins and getting better power ups. Solid game, completed in 12 hours.

Luxor: QFTA is the 5th in the spherematching Luxor game (Luxor, Luxor AR, Luxor 2, Luxor 3, Luxor 4: QFTA, Luxor 5th Passage) and is the most stunning looking game out of the Luxor franchise. It takes you on a quest to find 4 canopic jars and you will have to travel to different countries and battle bosses along the way. The game's FPS is according to your screen refresh rate and it supports a wide range of resolutions. The only cons are
1)As you progress through the journey, you will realise the amount of map quantity is very low
2)Catching thieves can be "challenging" sometimes
Overall, it's a really good game and try it out if you are a fan of casual gamers and especially games like Zuma, Atlantis, Sparkle, Tumblebugs, etc.

4代保留了可选道具系统所以不难，但感觉游戏性不如3代。
这代史无前例地加入了剧情和地图，应该是埃及祖玛史上（也可能是所有3消史上）第一个非单线游戏，甚至有那么点开放世界的感觉，你可以自由去任何地方。追盗贼的机制我觉得相当有趣，只有最大限度利用手里的道具才能堵住盗贼。
但不知道为什么到了后期难度加大的时候（其实就是球串数变多了）就会非常希望这一关赶紧过去，会希望从这个城市到那个城市只有一关，所以会玩得有点急躁（毕竟主任务是追盗贼而不是破关了嘛），这点倒不如一直以来只安心破关的前几代了。
因此，比较推荐开局直奔喀什拿到太阳车的所有配件，这样就能在去过的城市间快速移动了。然后不用着急做主线，慢慢把所有城市和所有路线都探索了然后再通关即可。
steam版目测修复了以前玩的时候的一些bug，成就应该都能正常得了。

Vale cade centavo investido e meus parabens aos desenvolvedores!

Antik Mısır temalı bu Luxor oyununda, coğrafyayı o bölgeden başlayarak geziyoruz. Tabi aslında değişen tek şey arkaplan. Gerisi yine Luxor oynamaya devam. Grafikler biraz daha iyi gibi ama sonuçta fark etmediğini tahmin etmesi zor değil.

Well, at least I can play in a decent screen resolution, but I feel like these are just getting worse. 1 and 2 were straight forward and more of a joy to play than this and the 3rd one. Again, that cursor bothers me badly and the long, unskippable story scenes are an aggrivating addition. I think I will give up on my quest for the afterlife and just live in the now.
