first 2/3rds of the game is baby easy and the last 1/3 is the only part I would call a game
missable collectables are a thing too, a thing that I personally find unpleasant

also I signed up for woah wonky depth perception issues, and I got that
fell through the floor (out of bounds) the first 10 seconds of playing the game and almost refunded on the spot out of 10
This was playing alright until I hit the underwater sections. It seems like a total crap shoot trying to get your character to resurface. Poor controls.
I have zero affinity to what Lumo is paying homage to but I still had a great time; Apparently, it's very British?
It's very mysterious and it doesn't try to explain anything, and while I had a lot of trouble with the camera, it wasn't enough to stop me from enjoying it till the end. It can get pretty maddening at times though.
It's just a cool puzzle platformer that doesn't overstay its welcome.

good game but hard
It took me years to finally come around and beat this game, a fun but frustrating experience.
For a game that relies a lot on precision platforming, the controls are pretty poor. Some of the puzzles can be bugged/glitched in ways they shouldn't. While the isometric angle is quite a cool and nice looking feature, it does tend to obscure your wizard dude behind obstacles and level geometry, making it hard to see where you are.
Despite all the negatives however, I would still recommend giving it a go. It's fairly cheap, and has a nice dungeon crawler atmosphere, fun puzzles, TONS of hidden collectibles, etc.
A wonderfully crafted platformer that also serves as a love letter to much older games. It may be rather short, but if you're trying to get 100% completion, that would fill in more time for you as several of the achievements are extremely challenging. I do wish it had a more refined story though; it almost seemed like there was something there, but it just wasn't clear enough.
It's the second time I've played the game beginning to end, it's such a fun time and a smooth experience, every time I find a hidden room it makes me smile, they're everywhere!

Solstice 2 na PC, polecam.
I liked it for what it was. Nothing groundbreaking, but it was a decent little game. I had trouble with the controls until I found the right movement mapping for me. It could get frustrating at times because it is often hard to tell where you are on screen. One part at the end where you had to navigate a spiky maze in a bubble was terrible because you had no idea where the bubble was.
I would give it a high 5/10. If you love platformers you would probably get enjoyment out of this.
Man, I REALLY want to like this game more than I do. At first I didn't understand the mixed reviews. "People just don't know a good thing when they see it" I thought. But as things progressed it dawned on me why this was so. The game is simultaneously too old school in certain aspects, and not old school enough in others. The concession's made to "Modern Audiences" (obnoxious, derogatory tone) breaks the game.
Despite advertising itself as a nod to old isometric games, the game is very linear and it's always blatantly apparent where you have to go. You never get that sense of "oh man, but what about that area 6 rooms back? Maybe I should have gone there first?". Or, "man idk about this puzzle, maybe I have to come back later? or am I just missing something right now?". The game is also quick to lock you out of areas you've already completed, which leads to the other issue.
It's as if the developers HATED completionists. It is FAR too easy to lock yourself out of collectibles for no real discernible reason. Took a wrong turn? Wanted to go back and explore? Fell off a platform? Too bad, start from scratch. Later on it gets even worse. You'll miss a jump and fall into the room below, never able to get back. And because of the game's obnoxious autosave system there's no way to quickly exit and restart. No, start over scrub.
The only real practical way of 100%ing the game is to go into the game's folder and constantly back up the save files, alt F4 when things go bad, copy and paste the files back in the folder, and relaunch the game and sit through the company logo screens over and over and over. Many times you do all that just to make a single jump and fail it, then have to alt F4 and restart the entire process all over.
By the end I got SO incredibly fed up and frustrated with it. Simply axing the autosave system and being able to pause and exit to the menu would have went a long long long way. As would have just not cutting off whole sections for no damn reason. Why not allow players back into rooms to explore? Stupid.
And it's a real shame. Games like The Immortal, Solstice, Snake Rattle & Roll, get bad wraps for their isometric platforming, but are some of my favorite games of all time. Unfortunately they're also one of the rarest genre of games as well. There's not many of them. Games like Lumo deserve a lot more attention. There's a lot of heart and creativity here. Although it's bogged down by a few bad decisions I think it still deserves to be played. Simply for what it is.
This is, I think, one of the best isometric games out there! It's old-styled and kinda reminds me of "Head over heels"... I think we cant't see this kind of games very often in these days.
I'd like to see a sequel.

A buggy and frustating mess of a game. I really would have enjoyed it since I enjoyed the games it was inspired by but the game design choices (forced perspective 3D instead of isometric, collisions and gameplay depending on physics engine...) made it barely tolerable. Instead of focusing on exploring and puzzle, it's much more platforming and action oriented which would not be a big deal if the controls and level design were tight. If it's nostalgia you're looking for, you're better off playing the old hits one way or another.
As a huge fan of Solstice, I have to say this is a terrible attempt at a tribute to that classic. Controls are wonky and inconsistent, the atmosphere is absent, and the dungeon layout is entirely linear. I can't imagine anyone choosing to play this.

"Is it fun"?
Well, its a decent game with a lot of love, FULL of references to 80's and 90's computer game world, specially seen in europe, with a nice soundtrack and puzzles that range from "braindead baby monkey could do it" to "Huh, this is harder than i thought but not by much".
The game is linear and has collect-a-ton elements, and can be done in about 4 hours for a fist playthrough if you're not going to get collecting everything.
HOWEVER:
Anyone voting negatively on the game for its "perspective" is 101% CORRECT. This game has some of the worst perspective issues i've seen in a 3D platformer, you have a shadow underneath your character, but it only appears when you are above some platforms, and with a lot of elements in the screen at the same time you can easily lose the shadow of your position, the fact that the higher you are from the ground the less dark the shadow is and that your fall speed is immediatly fast dont help. I've died more times due to lack of good depth perception than anything else. Its probably one of the best candidates for a game to be modified to run on VR or 3DS or 3D televisions JUST to fix that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ issue, it REALLY is that annoying and frustrating. I powered through, but i can see a lot of people just give up and delete the game and i cant blame them.
This game also has genuinely one of the worst ice levels in a videogame ever. Imagine doing accurate platforming on ice platforms that slip WAY too much, that dissappear half a second after you touch them, or in moving platforms. Seriously, i know that the ice level appears 2/3rds or 3/4ths of the way in the game but its easily a difficulty cliff, the game was easy up until that point and after that it gets hard, but the ice level IMHO is the hardest.
Oh, yeah, and the references, the game is full of them but its in a bri'ish muted reference way, they are just in the background or just as the things you collect (the raspberri pi, a commodore 64 cart loader, an SD card, a flux capacitor) instead of the usual american references of repeating it and being obnoxious all the time about it, so if you are used to american pop culture "jokes" its not gonna bother you, however if you were expecting the game to be original, you wont get that.
I saw another review talk of this game as "if old computer isometric platformers were an old vintage plane or car, this would be a homage vehicle made to be as close as possible to it in modern times, with its drawbacks incluided" and now that im done with the game i agree, whatever you would like about those old games has been upgraded or updated here, but the drawbacks are serious and could put you off from it.
Comparing Lumo to the superficially similar Solstice or Equinox from (S)NES days is like comparing a modern-day cargo cult plane to a 1960s Cessna. Neither offers an enjoyable ride, but at least the latter comes with all the parts that make it tick.
Instead of the solemn, dark ambience of yore, Lumo has generic, hollow references to pop culture. Instead of meaningful exploration, Lumo gives you a single path to follow with just a few missable collectibles behind side doors. Instead of moody environments, Lumo offers a few bland and uninspired tile sets. Puzzles in Lumo are trivial, any challenge comes from coping with insta-death obstacles, perspective, excessive hitboxes and (in contrast to Solstice/Equinox) laggy steering. Indeed, the protagonist of Lumo controls like a piece of buttered lead that has been feeding on a diet of hyperactive turtles for the past few weeks. Add to that a forgettable sound design and complete absence of any story or long-term goal for about half of the game, and you end up with no reason to play at all.
Got this on sale for less than 2€, wouldn't pay any more.

Vi o jogo, e a impressão que tive pelas imagens era de que fosse algo relaxante, divertido e tranquilo!
A diversão do jogo é sufocada pela câmera que atrapalha e muito.
O jogo é extremamente frustrante, algumas partes exigem precisão extrema, você chega em uma sala e só tem uma moedinha, tem que fazer o caminho de volta, passar por tudo de novo... Dependendo onde cair, volta todo caminho... O cara que criou o jogo deve ser sádico, não vejo outra explicação (sim, mesmo assim eu finalizei o jogo - mas foram poucos os momentos de diversão e muitos o de frustração).

I saw the game, and the impression I got from the images was that it was something relaxing, fun and peaceful!
The fun of the game is smothered by the camera that gets in the way a lot.
The game is extremely frustrating, some parts require extreme precision, you arrive in a room and you only have a penny, you have to make your way back, go through it all over again... Depending on where you land, you come back all the way... The guy who created the game must be sadistic, I don't see another explanation (yes, I still finished the game, but there were few moments of fun and many of frustration).
you do not get to play as the character depicted in ALL supporting artwork. the gameplay is not interesting, and brings only tedious to mind. you move slowly, doing things in-order with no freedom, only the ability to have wasted more time in a wholly uninteresting way.
even the cards and achievements have art for a more interesting character than the one you're allowed to play only after an extremely drawn-out and meaningless 'through the looking glass' intro.
don't spend money on this
The game is charming, but the gameplay is bland and gets very punishing as the game progresses, with mazes, time limits and annoying pitfalls. The fixed camera makes it hard to know where things are in 3D space, so simple platforming becomes very hard. I wanted to recommend it, but i can't.

(Before I move on, this review is more informational than a positive recommendation, but Steam doesn't have that option for normal reviews. It's a careful consideration in my opinion.)
I'd like to start of this review with that I'm slightly disappointed by the overall presentation. The cover art looks super cute, but the graphics and music are nothing even close to what I've imagined, and instead look more like a beginner student's unity project (which it isn't given the developer behind this). The graphics don't interfere with the gameplay so I'm not criticising the game on it, but I was disappointed. But fortunately we're here for gameplay which is mostly fine*. The isometric camera has been handled well for the most part and also works well with the gameplay. Only in less than 10% of the situations did I actually have issue with the isometric perspective, and that mostly came down to ropes. The gameplay was pretty basic, but the variety in puzzle rooms and references to older (British) history definitely kept the game fresh. It can be a frustrating experience, but not one that hurt my overall opinion on the game. What did for sure hurt though, was how terrible completion is handled. There are constant one-chance situations, there is no backtracking and the game expects you to do stuff--that you can do at any time--in a specific order. Especialy the one-chance situations annoyed me since there are no checkpoints, so if you fail a minigame or something amongst those lines... have fun restarting the entire game all over again to get to that point for a chance. Completion fortunately isn't that important, but it's still there so it shouldn't be this aggrevating. Oh, and the map really isn't good. It doesn't even show you where you are, and neither how many collectables said map has. If you don't care for completion you'll have a much better time however, but I am a completionist so this game will always be in my memory as a drag to play.

Great game with same gameplay as Equinox on SNES
Um bom jogo para passar o tempo uma boa ambientação e bons gráficos e alguns puzzles legais.
Честно говоря, когда я узнал. как мало отзывой об этой игре на странице в Стим, я был в серьезном недоумении. Быть может эту игру и не рекламировали вовсе. на странице с руководствами есть только видеопрохождение. да и блогеры обошли эту игры стороной, хотя опять же я не понимаю почему.
Перед нами маленькое инди сокровище, которое даст фору многим более серьезным проектам. Я с детства люблю изометрические игры, есть в них что-то манящее и эстетически привлекательно. Но на одной ностальгии далеко не уедешь. Графика несмотря на минимализм, просто превосходна. Все выглядит стильно и со вкусом - все эти бочки, полки, столы и прочие атрибуты локации, в которой находится герой, создают отличную атмосферу.
Музыка выше всяких похвал - не приедается, не отвлекает от игрового процесса, а напротив погружает в игру еще больше.
Добавьте к этому кучу секретов, отсылочек к классическим играм 80 и 90-х, а так же очень удобное и отзывчивое управление, и вы поймете, что игра буквально заставляет в ней раствориться.
Игрушка долго пылилась в моей библиотеке, потому что у меня никак не доходили до нее руки, и сейчас я очень об этом жалею.
Поставил бы игре 10 из 10, но это будет не справедливо, потому что я не прошел ее до конца.

Lumo is an isometric puzzles type of game, where events take place inside a broken computer at a science show in our neighborhood school, where gathering an SD card and a Raspberry Pi is your end goal to get your computer working again.
the theme and atmosphere have a silly whiff to it and, honestly, it just makes it better, you are a teen going to your school science show then your enter your broken PC as a walking infant to gather the necessary parts to fix it, there where you can also collect rubber ducks for whatever reason :)
Lumo is fun, creative, interesting, and intriguing, there is a genuine feeling behind its puzzles that keeps pulling you in to find out what's next and how more crazy and inventive Lumo can be. Audio and Music are arguably its weakest parts. controls and camera angles are sometimes irritating but nothing deal-breaking plus the game supports 3 different methods of controlling your main character.
Lumo isn't a game for everyone but if you like the general concept of it and give it a try, I don't think you would regret it, I enjoyed this game.

I enjoyed the different mechanics that kept getting introduced in this game and the references to retro games and hardware. Although some of the puzzles were pretty tedious, overall I enjoyed this game and would recommend it to someone looking for a charming platformer with some old school elements.

Commençons par les évidences : Lumo est un jeu d'exploration en vue isométrique. On parcoure les salles d'un donjon, et on résout soit un puzzle, soit une phase d'arcade/plate forme (qui devient de plus en plus présente au fur et à mesure du jeu.).
-Critique la plus évidente : la vue isométrique est calamiteuse pour les phases d'arcade notamment celles dans l'espace où les pièces tournent sur elles même. Malgré l'aide des ombres projetées au sol, le repérage dans l'espace y est quasi aléatoire. Testez, mourez, recommencez ! C'est la loterie Lumo !
J'ai dû vérifier plusieurs fois sur des vidéos la solution : a chaque fois j'avais la bonne solution mais je doutais de la mise en oeuvre à cause de la vue. Défaut de conception frustrant !
Une grosse partie de la difficulté semble donc reportée sur un défaut de conception. Je ne suis pas contre les clins d'oeil aux années 80, mais pas jusque là ! Le gros défaut aurait pu être coprrigé avec une meilleure gestion caméra !
-Justement, parlons de la caméra : elle ne peut pas vraiment être contrôlée. Il y a bien une option mais
on ne gagne que quelques degrés de rotation pour visualiser : insuffisant. Comble de la frustration : cette option minimaliste ne fonctionne pas sur toutes les salles (est ce un bogue ?) !
-Le donjon dans la neige n'apporte rien : rater un puzzle parce qu'on a glissé est plus frustrant qu'autre chose.
-Le monde est assez vide, on ne peut quasiment pas interagir avec le décor. Le personnage n'évolue pas, à part la baguette magique pour la lumière.
-Lumo est un jeu silencieux. L'ambiance sonore est très limitée : peu de bruitages, musique honnête mais très répétitive qui finit par prendre la tête (on peut la désactiver).
-Direction artistique aléatoire : certaines salles très belles cotoyent des objets à la limite du moche.
-Logique de l'histoire frisant le schizophrène : ce jeu n'a ni queue ni tête. On passe d'une ambiance médiévale à une salle en plastique avec un robot, suivi d'une séquence de ski, puis d'une séquence "je-suis-dans-la-matrice-inception-tu-vas-en-chier-avec-la-vue-isomerdique" puis d'un pseudo pacman ou d'un pseudo nebulus.
Ce gloubi boulga donne l'impression désagréable d'être dans un asile de dingos pas rigolos.
-La carte n'est pas très utile : aucune légende, perso non repéré sur la carte
-Les puzzles sont à refaire si pas faits dans le bon ordre : quand vous avez passé une scène bien frustrante au niveau saut millimétrique en vue iso, ca fait toujours plaisir.
-jeu assez court (mais c'est peut-être pas plus mal) : fini en 7h soit environ 1 minute par salle, mais évidemment très déséquilibré entre les salles.
10/20 (corrigez le problème avec la caméra et je monterai à 14 ou 15 !). À recommander uniquement aux nostalgiques des années 80, en soldes (pas à 18€).

dont give your self game range!!!...just finished this dam game and its frustratingly hard...door after door you get so lost, the few puzzles are fine and some references to old school games were fun, but the controls!!! and the lack of camera control!!!! trying to work out depth perception to jump and move things terrible!!!
Isometric adventure games? You know, it's okay to admit we didn't know or have anything better back then. Or is this for the kind of folks who thought crap like Shadow of the Beast was actually good just because it looked nice?

Adorable, sweet graphics and such a joy for the eye. But, I do concur, do get a controller. Playing this with your keyboard might turn out to be a far bigger obstacle course than it should. But still, a very brain-tickling experience! Love it!

そこそこ作りこんである感じはするんですがシビアな操作を求められるうえに奥行きがわかりづらく、さらにそんな仕掛けが一部屋内に連続であったりするので私はもう嫌です。コンプ要素を捨ててクリアだけならそんなに難しくない……か……？

这个游戏是在萤火虫的推荐上面看到的，当时看到tag是冒险而且画风那么可爱，就好奇的申请了~
刚进入游戏选择角色帽子衣服的颜色（要想日子过得去 生活还得加点绿！）
主角进入了一个房子，走到一套老式游戏机旁，于是就被吸入了游戏的世界（等等，这个剧情好像在哪里见过！）
进入了游戏世界的主角就变成了一个非常可爱的小法师一样的小可爱~于是冒险之旅就开始啦，你需要去探索各个房间，找寻需要的道具，去解决一个又一个谜题。还有很多收集要素满足一部分强迫症的需求hhhhh~
总的来说，游戏的发挥很稳定，没有特别出彩的剧情和玩法。但是就是很耐玩。
（一直没写测评是因为想看看大佬们怎么写的QWQ我的文笔太差了，结果一直没看见有人写，是因为没人申请吗QWQ感觉是个真的不错的游戏，安利一下下！

Es lo que parece, pero un poco peor: juego tipo Solstice o Equinox, con un apartado gráfico muy justito y una jugabilidad deficiente. La falta de precisión al saltar y el nulo juego de cámaras son lo peor del juego. Lo compré por 4€ y ni aun así vale la pena.

This is my first ever review on Steam, and for good reason: this game is both wonderful and awful.
Game is wonderful because it really is rebirth of THE genre of old isometric arcade adventures that Knight Lore was first and legendary example. I've played such games, Knight Lore and Alien 8, as kid on my 48 K Spectrum in the mid of the eighties, and Lumo invoked those very fond memories of mine. Lumo is also beautiful and polished game working flawlessly on Linux that is also doubleplusgood.
So why is it awful in the same time? Because I'm an old fart who does not have patience any more for finding perfect stream of jumps and steps to get to that damn other side of the room. :-) This game becomes somewhat hard beginning with that Cursed Room of Many Chains and continuing into Land of Snow and Ice so I'll stop for now, and maybe forever.
But that's just me. There are easier and good 2.5D isometrics out there, for example Mr. Robot, a very fine game (works with Wine) but Lumo is not in that company. And this is not bad per se, it's just somewhat bad for me.
So, if you do have a patience for finding perfect stream of jumps and steps to get to that damn other side of the room, by all means go ahead and buy / play Lumo, especially if you are old Speccy fan. If you don't have that kind of patience any more... buy Lumo on sale and play it nevertheless, to the limits of your patience.
For me it really was a blast from the past to play Lumo, one of the earliest games I played was Equinox for the SNES, and it was a game I liked to play, and since I stucked with my SNES for many years I got to play Equinox a lot. I then bought a Wii in 2010, and hoped to jump into the next isometric puzzle adventure, only to find out the genre had gone the way of the dodo.
So why did I like the genre? It is mainly that the challenge in the genre lies in your perception and interpitation of the room, with a good level design this can be very tricky to find out, to the point that you might feel a death is unfair, and the next moment have some clarity on what went wrong, and look at the room in a new way. This has been done well in Lumo too.
In Lumo there are two modes Adventure and Old School. Adventure mode is the games easy mode where you have unlimited lifes. It is recommandable if you are new to the genre, since it can give you a taste of what the genre is about, with very little risk. If you are a hardcore gamer in this genre you won't get the same kick out of Adventure mode, and should really stick to Old School where you have 4 lifes to complete the game, and no way to save.
I personally stuck to the Adventure mode, since the difference between Adventure and Old School isn't explained in the main menu. I have had a hard time to not compare Lumo with Solstice and Equinox, especially because of the nods this game delivers towards those games, which made me feel like there should have been more enemies in the game, this is however a thing I can let pass though, since as I wrote earlier the real challenge is the rooms. The problem however is that it takes until the middle of the game, for some of the rooms to be particular tedious which makes this game less challenging.
I will end by saying that because of my nostalgia and longing for another isometric puzzle adventure game, it is hard for me to say where exactly I would put this on a 1 - 10 scale, it would pass so it would be 6 or higher, but I think it would end on a 7/10. I will admit that this genre might not be for everybody, and some might think of this game as a "fake" 3D game, but if you are up for having your perception challenged, or want to try a genre that has been away since the 90's, this game will be for you.

카메라 시점이 대각선이고 조작 방향을 마음대로 정할 수 있지만 원근감이 쓰레기라고 해야할 지 어떨지 거리 가늠이 안됩니다.
게임 BGM이나 이런건 존나 잔잔하고 사람을 잠오게 만듭니다.
음 빙판에서 더 이상 진행을 할 수 없었습니다. 무슨 짓을 해도 발판을 밟고 문으로 갈 수 없더군요.

게임 자체는 어드벤처 퍼즐 요소로 도전욕구를 자극시키고
몰입도 또한 좋아서 불편한 사항들을 딛고 엔딩까지 재밌게 플레이 했습니다.
하지만 위에서 언급했다시피 다시 한번 강조하면
플레이 하는 내내 시점의 문제로 곤욕을 치뤘던게 한두번이 아닌거 같네요.
대각선으로 뛰어야할지...그냥 오른쪽으로 뛰어야할지...
배경음은 잔잔하게 흘러나와서 기억은 잘 않나지만
확실히 기억나는건 캐릭터가 죽을때마다 나오는 곡소리가 계속 귓가에 맴돕니다.
끝으로 추천/비추천 고민중 그래도 재밌게 플레이 했던거 같아 추천을...!

しかしながら操作性の悪さや遠近感の分かりづらさ、実績解除関連の理不尽な要素がたくさんある点から、やり込めるゲームを求めている人には合わないだろうと思う。
Got the game because it looked so similar to the NES title Solstice that I grew up playing. The control scheme was improved upon but many of the shortcomings of Solstice were in this title as well as some new issues. The isometric style really is terrible for judging distance and angle and so some of the rooms with moving platforms you are kind of guessing where in relative space they are to time the jump. Also this games control system is beyond broken (at least with a controller). The character controller pauses whenever changing direction at all so with a joy stick the character stutter steps everywhere.
Easily the most annoying aspect of this title is that there is no escape menu, or any way to leave the game once you start other than Alt-F4 or something similar. Not sure how any games in todays day and age are allowed to release without something as simple and imperitive as a menu or way of escaping the program...

Don=t get me wrong, i LOVED the game but the view is really stupid and very frustrating many times, what makes the game not hard but annoying in many rooms.

Lumo fängt irgendwie 80er/90er like interessant an - und verliert sich dann in einer schwer zu definierenden "merkwürdigen Blase". Story-mäßig gibt's hier gar nichts zu erwarten. Man rennt nur als kleiner dicker Zaubererjunge / dickes Zauberermädchen (je nach Geschlechtswahl) durch die Gänge, absolviert Sprungpassagen und versucht zum nächsten Ausgang zu kommen. Ja, Jump'n'Runs sind so aufgebaut, aber bieten normalerweise a) Sammelkram und b) optische Abwechslung. Beides fehlt hier in diesem Spiel scheinbar völlig.
Dazu kommt noch, dass man zwar "Enten" sammeln kann, diese aber immer in giftigem Gewässer liegen und man mit einem genau getimeten Sprung von ihnen wieder weghüpfen muss - ansonsten resetten sie sich und dich am Raumeingang. Wenn dann die Respawnanimation nicht so lange dauern würde, würde es sicherlich Spaß machen es noch einmal zu probieren. Tut's aber leider nicht.
Aber auch die Einführung in bestimmte Dinge ist nicht vorhanden bzw. ist der Sachverhalt dieser Dinge nicht sofort klar.
- Dass man manche Kisten schieben kann = Nicht erklärt
- Dass man manche Kisten via Sprung unter sich aufsammeln und dann mit einem Sprung nochmals platzieren kann = Nicht erklärt (macht eigentlich nichts, da man das selbst herausfindet, aber in einem neuen Raum mitnehmbar sind sie leider nicht - und das wird nirgends erklärt)
- Dass manche Kisten (, die unter einer anderen sind) nur von einer Seite schiebbar sind (obwohl in alle Richtungen hin Platz) und sie dann NICHT auf den eigenen Kopf fällt = Nicht erklärt
Zumal kann man aufgrund der Perspektive Distanzen schlecht abschätzen - und springt, wie es die Natur so will, häufig daneben oder zu kurz - und damit in die Grube.
Und obwohl ich eine halbe Stunde spielte, gab's noch kein Achievement, obwohl da tausende sind. Eines davon besagt, dass man alle Enten ohne einen einzigen Fail einsammeln soll. Unmöglich. Probiert's doch einfach mal selbst aus.
Oder halt.

I looked at this game, read the reviews and thought "Yeah, this could be fun!". Spectrum retro with a modern twist. What's not to like?
I have NEVER rage quit a game so much in my life. Any game that has an achievement for dying 250 times in one play through should NOT be available to the general public.
That being said, I am still playing the game...and I'm determined to finish it...and it's fun...and the graphics are kind of cute...and it's kept me enterained for a few hours...and in truth, I love it...but also hate it at the same time!

I fell in love with the game's look and reverence for old PC games but I gave up after a few hours because the isometric perspective led to me having to redo platforming puzzles repeatedly. The subtle nudge you can give the camera is useless at compensating for this and in most of the elaborate rooms it's disabled anyways. Perfhaps in 3D or VR the perspective would be easier for me to discern but as is my frustration outweighed my enjoyment. Really sorry to say I uninstalled before finishing.
Door deze game werd ik lid van Steam ... Lijkt op soltice van de de oude nintendo 8 bit en er zijn eigenlijk veel te weinig spellen die zo zijn als dit... Echter na 5 uur spelen ben ik eigenlijk teleur gesteld. De grapichs zijn echt leuk en het idee is ook helemaal top.. Alleen na een aantal uren gespeeld te hebben viel me dit toch tegen. Afstand is moeilijk te bepalen en soms sta je in een angle zodat je jouw player persoon niet meer kan zien en het springen een gok word. Dit was zeker bij soltice van de NES niet het geval en daar zit het verschil ook. Lumo is 3D met iosmetriesche 2D look .. Misschien wellicht toch beter om dit soort spellen gewoon 2D te houden want dat zou de speelbaarheid van het spel ten goede beinvloeden.

Un juego que lo primero, nos recuerda a aquellos magníficos juegos en vista isométrica del Spectrum. Por otro lado es un juego que a medida que lo vamos jugando se va complicando, jugando mucho con la perspectiva de la cámara por ejemplo. La historia del juego es curiosa, aunque tampoco es algo que nos vaya a dejar con los calzones en el suelo. Un juego que considero imprescindible si te gustan los juegos tipo puzzle-quest.

If you already have improved your skills with Solstice or Equinox for example, the game will not be a big challenge (in adventure mode). However old school mode is really harder.
For newcomers, it can be hard to keep the control of your character in an isometric world (but it's a part of the challenge!).
Many hidden items to collects (and sometimes very well hidden).
The game is not totally linear, you can miss some items if you do not know the right path to follow (I missed ONE duck I never met!).
It's a game you want to restart at the end of the credits, just to find more collectibles, to discover new rooms, and to enjoy the experience a little bit longer.
Highly recommended!

If you played games in the 80's, know which computer Arnold was and who's Uncle Clive you'll love this. Frustratingly fun (there's no way I'm playing it old school though)
This game was no fun for me, because some levels were so difficult that it took me many attempts to pass them. When the game like this becomes so frustrating I normally give up without finishing it. If you're into some very difficult platforming this game is for you.
Great game .. on the surface. It's all good until one particular screen in the ice levels. You're slipping all over the place and have to navigate through the air at very odd angles (not great for an isometric game), whilst avoiding slipping on the slippery blocks when you land, all in order to reach a high-up door.
I can see how to complete this level but I can't get past this part (I tried repeatedly for over an hour) so sadly this has broken the game for me. I don't usually struggle with game controls - I've been a gamer since the 80s. It's a shame as this 3D isometric game is awesome otherwise, with lots of lovely touches and reminders of gaming past.
Its to Lumo’s credit that it feels like it picks up from where Ritman/Drummond, ACG, The Pickfords and a handful of other producers of not-quite-iso videogames left off. That’s fantastic but time’s moved on and I’m so glad Lumo feels 2016 enough, different enough, that it’s a new thing not a tribute act.
I left Lumo not with a fuzzy hazy feeling of nostalgia but the same sort of excited hope for the future you get when you play a really tremendous new thing. That’ll do me.

Lumo it's a perfect homage to 8-bit classics using the Filmation-II engine, such as Knight Lore and Head over Heels (ZX Spectrum, MSX, Amstrad CPC and others) Cadaver (Amiga) and, most prominently, Solstice (NES). It's everything there, including the fixed camera angles, cute graphics and puzzles made difficult because of perspective ambiguity. Lumo is VERY retro - probably kids raised on polygonal third-person view games can't really grasp this game - but if you were playing adventure games in the 1980s you'll certainly love this one.
Bien que je ne rejette pas le style de jeu "hardcore platformer", ce n'est en général pas une de mes catégories de prédilection.
Et pourtant, j'étais, depuis quelques temps, attiré par les graphismes de ce titre que j'avais pu apercevoir sur les sites spécialisés.
Arrive alors la promotion steam à -50% et je me laisse tenter sans trop hésiter, sachant que la critique était bonne.
Tout de suite après l'installation, je démarre le soft, ...
Et tout me saute au visage à ce moment précis. Ce petit mage déambulant dans les couloirs d'un donjon simple et épuré mais à l'ambiance feutrée et à la musique enchanteresse, électro et zen, je suis immédiatement conquis.
Les actions et le gameplay sont simples et la difficulté augmente graduellement mais se corse assez rapidement. Les énigmes sont bien pensées mais demandent parfois quelques aller et retours dans quelques couloirs sinueux qui restent agréables à parcourir.
Une carte vient à notre rescousse dans chaque niveau afin de pouvoir se repérer. Cependant, il faudra la retrouver systématiquement et de plus, elle ne vous localise pas, c'est à vous de savoir où vous vous situez, plusieurs indices pouvant vous y aider.
Le tout fonctionne extrêmement bien et me pousse à reprendre la manette en main à chaque fin de journée de travail.
Des objets et bonus seront à collecter tout au long de l'aventure qui propose un mode de jeu aux vies infinies (entendez par là, à chaque mort, vous réapparaissez au début de la salle visitée). Les plus motivés pourront s'entraîner et terminer le mode "old-school" qui vous invite à finir le jeu avec seulement 3 vies.
Je ne vais pas ajouter une couche de commentaires supplémentaires pour ce jeu qui m'enchante, de bons aperçus se trouvent sur Youtube et vous permettront de vous faire une idée avant achat.
En tout cas, en ce qui me concerne, c'est mon GOTY à moi ... :-D
Gets really repetitive and old really quick, only one song played the hour I played, all the rooms look the same, puzzles aren't hard but instead consist of frustratingly difficult and precise jumps which are made harder by the isometric view.
I bought the game because the graphic looked great, but the gameplay was terrible. It would be better if you could turn the stages, so jumping from platform to platform would be easier. 5/10
I don't know. It looks okay, I don't find those sounds to be annoying, it's running smooth. It's just not fun. Either I'm getting old, or there's something missing, but after just several minutes of playing, I realized that I didn't want to go on. I don't know what was the reason, maybe the graphics, maybe something else, but I couldn't make myself love the character and be passonate about him getting safe to the next location. I can't say that I don't recommend this game, I surely do, because it is a nice game, just not for me, I guess.
Lumo is a good game so far, but about a minute or twowhen I exit the game, my laptop restarted itself.

Lumo é um jogo do gênero Plataforma Isométrica, onde você é desafiado a cada fase. São mais de 400 quartos, cheios de puzzles, cujo grau de dificuldade vai aumentando gradualmente, testando nossas habilidades a todo instante.
A atmosfera suave, luz e som, nos ajuda na concentração, permitindo que passemos por todas as fases, mesmo que com grande dificuldade. O tempo passa e nem percebemos!
Além de tudo isso, Lumo nos traz muita nostalgia a cada objeto encontrado, a cada mistério desvendado.
Vale muito a pena jogar e mergulhar no universo de Lumo.

Cute little platformer, with lots of nods to old-school games that mostly went right over my head but that's ok.
Occasionally there's a weird lighting bug where the shadows stretch vertically but it soon goes once you move. Either my depth perception is rubbish or sometimes it's really hard to see how far to jump, or maybe both.
Music is nice and the humour and puzzles are great.
It will take too long to list all features of this outstanding work, so I'll just say that this is must-have if you like 80/90s games and want to see it modernized to today's standart without losing the key atmosphere. Totally worth every penny.

[b]Lumo[/b] - изометрический платформер, который изрядно попортит нервы любому хардкорщику. Может быть, кто-то помнит [b]Solstice: The Quest for the Staff of Demnos (NES)[/b] и ее сиквел [b]Equinox (SNES)[/b], в которых приходилось блуждать по лабиринтам в поисках выхода, попутно решая загадки и сражаясь с различными врагами. [b]Lumo[/b], сильно напоминает эти два проекта, в особенности первый, но обладает собственной индивидуальностью.
Играем мы за обычного подростка, отправившегося в игровой клуб. Наткнувшись на поломанный игровой автомат, героя неожиданно переносит в другой мир, где он оказывается в роли чародея. Теперь, чтобы вернуться домой ему предстоит пройти через 400 комнат с ловушками, головоломками и врагами.
Чем сразу подкупает [b]Lumo[/b], так это атмосферой тех самых игр 80-х - начала 90-х. Умирать мы будем часто, иногда из-за своей нерешительности, в других случаях из-за излишней суетливости и рвения. Стоит упомянуть и камеру, с которой предстоит бороться всю игру. Секреты - еще один привет из прошлого, их здесь много, и чтобы найти все, искать придется очень тщательно. Есть шесть скрытых мини-игр, на прохождение которых будет дано ограниченное количество времени. Если не успели пройти - второго шанса уже не будет, только при следующем прохождении. Есть в игре и карты на каждый этаж лабиринта, правда там вы не найдете привычной отметки собственного местонахождения, только общая информация. Добавьте к этому соответствующую музыку и режим [b]«Old School»[/b] с ограниченным количеством жизней без сохранений и карты.
Головоломок в игре не очень много, от силы наберется около 20 штук. Большую часть времени мы будем преодолевать самые разнообразные ловушки — шипы, огненные кубы, пропасти, водяные преграды и т.д. Будут комнаты, где надо продемонстрировать свою реакцию и скорость принятия решений. Добавьте к этому немногочисленных, но умелых врагов и получите разнообразный геймплей, где одна преграда будем сменять другую, и так до самого финала практически без передышек.
Главным минусом игры, как уже упомянул выше, является камера, которую нельзя приблизить или удалить. Можно умереть даже не поняв как, потому что не будет видно какого-то шипа или границы квадратика, на котором вы стоите. Особенно сильно ощущаешь все «прелести» камеры в режиме [b]«Old School»[/b], когда каждая жизнь на счету.

Really, really enjoying this game. Hits its atmosphere right on the nail. Well paced, simple to play game with more than a nod to vintage gaming which will go over peoples heads even if you are a oldy like me. Only issue I find is that the game features isometric platforming with weak shadow. Judging your jumps can be slightly annoying but with now penalty on the normal mode its just a mere annoyance.
Special shout out to the music which I had to search out and buy.

Certainly brings back memories of some of my earliest favourite computer games, with little nods and winks all over the place. Some sections can be a little tricky, but thankfully not quite at the same leap and pray level of ye olde isometic games as there is at least some perspective.
