Mr Lumbear (or Jack to his friends) was rudely awakened by his woodpecker friend with the dreadful news that a pollution guzzling corporation called Evil Works were setting up base in his forest. Armed with his trusty axe, Jack sets out on a mission to foil their plans in destroying the homes of his friends.
Thus begins a very satisfying game of sabotage and destruction by Jack as he swings his axe at signs, cranes, buildings, cars and other construction machinery. All the debris flows into his backpack and this upgrades his axe to a bigger one and then a massive chain saw.
There is something grimly satisfying hacking and slashing everything in sight. The crowning glory is giving the humans a slap in the face (with sound effects) for their incredible stupidity. If you feel kind, you can pat them on the shoulder later. It is a great game to unleash your anger and frustration and I was sitting there with a big grin on my face as it is quite humorous to play.
Graphics are quite basic and cartoony. Music is bright and jaunty. Controls were a bit floaty at times, especially when you have timed gameplay. Overall, this game has an important message to share about the environment and proceeds of the game goes to Ecologi to plant trees.
A few levels of the game you have to hit bombs in a particular direction. In some cases, you have to hit the bomb twice before it explodes. This does require some dexterity and co-ordination. It took me a while to pass that level. Some of the achievements are attached to you hitting your targets with accuracy. I failed!!
This wholesome game is currently 70% off, so a good time to pick it up. You won't regret it. Jump in and help Jack and his quirky friends save the day! 8/10
Postscript: I forgot to say that you can changes outfits on Jack, so you gain new skins as you play along.

[h2]A cosy eco-fable where anger management is handled with an axe and the occasional corrective slap.[/h2]

LumbearJack lets you indulge a very specific fantasy: dealing with environmental vandalism in the most child-friendly violent manner imaginable. You stomp through levels, dismantle the corporate blight, and somehow it all feels less like rage and more like spring cleaning with intent. Even the “bad” grey humans are not so much defeated as briskly reintroduced to decency via a slap to the face - [i]do not try this as a social policy[/i].

What makes it work is that the game never mistakes simplicity for dullness. The puzzles are small, clear, and just tricky enough to keep things lively without turning the whole affair into a consultation with a Victorian engineering manual. I also found myself automatically wanting to clear every objective in a level, because the game is very good at making tidiness feel morally righteous. Also: do [b]not[/b] overlook the outfit vendors. That would be sloppy, and we are here to save nature, not embarrass ourselves.

The presentation is modest, but exactly right. The third-person visuals are straightforward, readable, and suited to the tone - no unnecessary fireworks, no cinematic self-importance, just a clean little world that knows what it is. Controller support is wonderfully simple, and the music deserves credit for being quiet and unobtrusive right up until you turn it off and realise the room has become oddly empty, like a village fête after the vicar has banned joy.

My only real complaint is a small one: you only see after finishing a level whether you truly did [i]everything[/i] - cleaned everything up, caught every trap, slapped every reformable soul. Slightly annoying, yes. Not enough to matter, no. If you like cozy games with an actual message, and you do not object to that message being delivered with friendly woodland aggression, this is an easy recommendation.

I really liked this game. I enjoyed every mechanic and I liked the little characters and the story. Destroying things was fun and the puzzles were pretty easy. I also like how the achievements look. It can be finished in under three hours, so it's pretty short. I don't think it's worth 13$, more like 8$.

Jogo muito bom!

Se você está procurando um jogo fácil e relax para jogar, esse é o jogo perfeito. O gráfico é bem bonito, com cada animal caricato, o jogo não possuí muitos diálogos, apenas por emoji, mas dá para entender facilmente.

O jogo tem um objetivo bem claro, destruir todas as maquinas feitas pelos humanos, que estão poluindo a floresta. Cada fase tem um objetivo maior em quesito de maquinas.

O jogo é divertido, com muitas fases e "puzzules" para cada uma delas. Eu recomendo demais, o jogo é curtinho, mas se vc quiser platinar, vai gastar umas horinhas a mais.

С точки зрения экологического посыла, тут есть интересные мысли: например, что люди, работающие на мегакорпорации, глубоко несчастны и будут гораздо счастливее в эко мире. Или что (как в игре Terra Nil) надо использовать текущую технологию, чтобы устранить её же последствия для природы.

И всё это выполнено с помощью шикарной анимации. Медведь не церемонится: чтобы "расколдовать" сотрудника мегакорпорации, он отвешивает ему затрещину. Даже выглядит звонко.

То, что сделано, сделано качественно. Возможно, эта игра даже порт из эпохи Flash игр. Рекомендую, если нужна игра для расслабона.

This is a cute and quick little game for when you don't want to think too hard or do too much. I liked the story line and simple game play. However, I did encounter a glitch during the final boss meaning I had to restart the level. I also wish there was a small tutorial at the beginning. Although I could work out what I was meant to do eventually it did leave me feeling lost initially.

LumbearJack is an adventure game where you control a bear and try to reclaim nature from the evil corporation. Basically you just run around and smash things. The gameplay is pretty simple but it is fun. I think if you have kids it would a great game for them - not overly challenging. Nice game just to kick back and relax knowing that you cannot really fail or die.

At 2-3 hours, the length is perfect given the simple premise of the game. 8/10

Success！って感じです。クリアまで遊びました。bare＆breakfastというゲームを先にやっていて、主人公のクマがかわいかったので購入しました。
軽い気持ちで遊べ、軽い気持ちで善行(破壊)を行えて、考えるな感じろという感じのほのぼの感があります。
プレイ中は文字での説明はなく、キャラクターの仕草やアイコン(ハートマークなど)で表現されてて良いです。
環境保全がテーマ？なので、文字での説明があると多かれ少なかれノイズなろうかと思うので、そういう所はまあさておきカジュアルに自然を守ろうね～＾＾って感じで遊べるのがいいです。
クマ以外の森の生き物も妙にパリピ感があって、じわじわ来ます。アグレッシブの100エーカーの森って感じです。

[h1] Story [/h1] Wir spielen Jack, einen Bären der den Traum hat, die Natur wieder in ihrem natürlichen Zustand zu versetzen. Also schnappen wir uns unsere Axt und machen uns auf die Natur die von Menschlicher Hand verunstaltet wurde, wieder zu erneuern

[h1] Gameplay [/h1] Das Spiel hat insgesamt 20 kurze Level. In jedem Level müssen wir meist ein bestimmtes Tier, welches in Not ist, befreien. Dafür schlagen wir mit unserer Axt alles kurz & klein was nicht in die Freie Natur gehört wie z.B. Bau-Fahrzeuge, Öl Tonnen, Zäune usw. Manche Größeren Sachen können wir vorerst nicht kaputt machen, sondern müssen erst genug Material zusammen sammeln um unsere Act zu verbessern (dies geht bis zu 2 mal pro Level). In machen Leveln gibt es auch kleine Rätsel zu lösen, diese sind aber sehr simpel gehalten. Zwischen den Leveln, kommen wir immer auf die World Map oder Hub World und dort können wir u.a. Level nochmal auswählen oder an unsere Kleidung, die wir nach und nach freischalten wechseln. Der Grafik Stil sieht niedlich gemacht aus und das Spiel ist im allgemeinen sehr Familienfreundlich gehalten. Musik ist passend

[h1] Achievement Schwierigkeit 3/10 [/h1] Es gibt insgesamt 17 Erfolge. Hierfür muss man u.a. das Spiel zu 100% beenden, das heißt man muss in jedem Level alles kaputt machen bzw. recyceln, alle Bären Fallen finden und alle Menschen Ohrfeigen damit sie wieder zur Besinnung kommen. Dann gibt es noch Level Spezifische Erfolge wie z.B. das Bomben Golf Level mit nur 7 Schlägen gewinnen oder das Tennis Level unter 10 Schläge beenden. Insgesamt aber alles sehr simpel und man kann nichts verpassen weil man Level jederzeit, auch nach dem kompletten Durchspielen, wiederholen kann

What a charming game! As a fan of Armor Games from the Flash era, it's wonderful to see the studio continue its legacy of creating fun and unique indie titles. The environmental theme of LumbearJack is fantastic, and I love the satisfying gameplay of chopping and recycling. It's a great experience that reminds me of the classic, quirky games I used to play.

Lumbearjack is an adorable light puzzle game where you play as a bear being a nuisance to the humans destroying the environment. The art and sound design are all very cute, and the levels are unique and fun enough to keep me entertained for a couple hours. It's an easy game, and the bouncy animations make it a delight to play through. This seems like it would be perfect for young players especially since the mechanics are easy to pick up and there's instant gratification in righteous destruction. Its price is a little steep for what it offers, but it's clear a lot of passion went into this game, and I had a good time with it.

Slap humans and destroy everything while helping nature, what more could you want?

You're Jack the bear. Armed with your axe and with the help of your friends, you fight against Evil Works to save nature from being destroyed by them.
The game is pretty short and simple but I had fun with it.
It consists of 20 levels in which you save your animal friends from problems by chopping trash away, throwing bombs, moving things around and slapping humans. Also loved the easter eggs among the humans.

LumbearJack is Awesome! 🪓🐻

The story may be simple, but breaking everything with a BIG axe was very satisfying. Jack’s mission to clean up the environment one chop at a time is oddly therapeutic and super fun. Visually, the game nails it with bright, low-poly textures similar to Donut County. I also LOVED the unlockable skins for Jack (Favourite was the Suited Bear) They gave me a fun incentive to keep progressing and trying out new looks.

One of my favourite aspects was the pop culture references throughout each level and cutscene. Subtle nods to classic movies did make me chuckle. Would recommend for anyone who loves a good Easter egg.

Overall, enjoyed the simple puzzle aspect linked with smashing EVERYTHING! Did manage to get all the achievements in just under 3 Hours so very good value for money. Only thing that I would like to see is the ability to get a Trading Cards and Steam Badges. 10/10

I can't say I'm too sure about LumbearJack. Maybe it's because I'm probably not a member of its intended playerbase, but I just found it a bit too plain and inoffensive. Perhaps the game about a bear liberating the wilderness from polluters with their big axe would be a nice game for a younger kid or someone looking for a way to spend a few hours, but its short length makes LumbearJack difficult to recommend for the off-sale price point.

I did enjoy this game quite a bit. The concept is simple: destroy things and slap humans along the way (something I realised I could do endlessly) to save the environment.
It's sweet, warm and cosy, especially thanks to the artwork and music. There's some humor along the way, which is always welcome. It's definitely very chill and not difficult to play at all, and new mechanics are introduced during the gamplay to add a bit of variety.
In a way I wish it was longer, but I believe the devs ended the game at the right time and didn't let it drag on unnecessarily.

So yes, I would recommend this game without a doubt. Plus it could be a good first game for anyone.

It was a nice, simple little game.
I had my fun with it, and I liked the movie references on some of the humans after you slapped them.

Got the game in a cozy/story game Humble Bundle and I just saw this game as a "huh, nice little bonus". That is probably what you should treat this game as: a nice little bonus [i] if you get it with something else. [/i]

After 1.5 hours, I completed the game. There isn't much in terms of raw gameplay experience.

Why am I giving it a positive review then? Well, this game makes up for this fault with extreme charm. Every level has a beginning and ending cut scene that just ooze charm and would make me crack a smile every time. Extremely cozy, very chill, and easy puzzle game.

This game is an awesome "baby's first video game": Very easy to understand as the entire game is played with 1 button, introduces mechanics over time, doesn't have a "lose" condition, etc...

TLDR:
This game is great if you get with a DEEP discount, as a part of a pack, OR if you buy it as an introductory game for kids or people who have never played games before.

[b]Finished at ~98% in 3.8 hours[/b] according to Steam (including a bit of idle time on the Steam Deck). I'm really glad I finally picked up this little game I first spotted during the [i]Wholesome Direct back in 2022[/i], especially for the price I got it at (€3.83). It turned out to be [b]much richer than I expected[/b], even though I knew it’d be short. That’s why I feel like I got my money’s worth — definitely wouldn’t say the same if I had paid full price.

It’s a [b]level-based[/b], cute (but not overly “kawaii” cutesy) game where you go from stage to stage helping forest animals reclaim their home by smashing human-built stuff polluting the environment. Playing as an [b]eco-terrorist bear who slaps humans in the face?[/b] Yes please!

[b]Each level has 3 badges to collect:[/b]
● One for destroying all human-made objects to bring the greenery back;
● One for slapping all the sad grey “bad” humans so they turn colorful and enjoy nature;
● One for finding the hidden animal traps.

It’s pretty easy to 100% most levels, the core gameplay is [b]very accessible and straightforward[/b] but you still need to focus on what’s going on. I’m saying that as someone who hates puzzle games. Perfect for adults [i]and[/i] kids. [b]It’s very chill, no pressure at all[/b], but note that at a moment there’s bombs dropping at you, you don’t explose nor die though.

I was a bit worried it’d get repetitive, but the game actually introduces [b]new mechanics and ways to think[/b] as you progress. Sure, it’s always the same structure, but it keeps things engaging, I keep wanting to play the next area while I usually quickly lost interest with games of this type. Some levels had me scratching my head a bit though, but nothing headache inducing. [b]Perfect little game for when you don’t have the energy or motivation for something longer or deeper like an RPG.[/b]

👎 That said, I was a bit frustrated I couldn’t get all 3 badges on two specific levels. No idea if it’s a bug or if I missed something, but I checked every corner and even watched gameplay videos, still couldn’t get the nature badge for those. Not a huge deal since I don’t care about Steam achievements, but I would’ve liked to 100% the in-game content.

🎨 [b]Art style[/b]: 10/10 – I've always loved low-poly, especially pastel like that.

⏳ [b]Length[/b]: 8/10 – Short, but more content than expected.
🏷️ [b]Worth full price?[/b] 4/10 – For me, not really. But on sale? [b]Absolutely worth it.[/b] (Still a better value than [i]Unpacking[/i], which was even shorter but more expensive.)

I recommend it when on sale if you’re looking for a cute, chill, feel-good level-based game with simple puzzles.

This game reminds me of Alba. The game is completely different but the vibes are the same.
Clean the world (polluted by the evil humankind - “evil works” in the game) and help your friend.
It’s playable on Steam Deck.
If I have to say one con I would say it’s not easy to be accurate to hit the targets.

I had a lot of fun with this game. The art style is super cute. I also loved cleaning up the levels. Smacking the people was hilarious and never got old. The achievements are pretty easy to get too. I’d recommend on sale because it’s so short, but it’s worth getting.

This game has so much charm and humor. Its premise is very simple. Destroy everything to get a bigger weapon to destroy even more of everything. Simple and straightforward. The little gags and cut scenes are what makes this game so magical. The animals doing their little antics after you demolish all the toxic corporate junk taking over the forest. But what is really great is how the game is less about pushing this narrative of "return nature to the animals" and more about coexistence. The humans after you retake the forest are still apart of the wild. They are camping, relaxing, and generally enjoying themselves. You as the titular bear aren't pushing them out but allowing them to be apart of this world so long as they respect the boundaries of the other living things that share it. I think that is wonderful. The game is really short and the puzzles are really simple. If there is ever another game in the future I would like to see more fleshed out levels and puzzles that involve more complex methods of solving. But for what it was I had a lot of fun playing as a bear just tearing stuff up.

Such an adorable game! I love the cute art style, easy to operate mechanics, and the simple but satisfying levels. It's very cozy if you're looking for something lowkey. The game is pretty short, but goes on sale frequently or is purchasable as part of a bundle- I think it's worth it and I enjoyed my time spent playing it. You get to punch humans in the face and work with animal friends to repair your habitat, 10/10 silly shenanigans.

It's a very light puzzle game that took about 2 hours to finish. You break things, use those materials to upgrade your axe, and then break bigger things. It kind of felt a bit like Katamari Damacy, or maybe Donut Country, though both of those are much better games. Very light recommend.

Was part of a bundle, I decided to just dive into a random game from the bundle and this was it... Kinda dull, some cute animations, not bothered by the graphics, they work fine. Gameplay is a little too simple, not challenge at all. A little more to the puzzles would be nice and some early levels didn't even have a puzzle.

It's fine for a couple hours experience, took me a little longer than the average because I had to go back and redo some levels for the completion. As dull as it is I'll take the 100% achievement progress. I'm not gonna recommend the game because I would not have gotten it if it weren't in a bundle and I don't see why anyone would.

Also it's clearly a kids game, why is the moral of the game to slap people into submission of your agenda? Some of the stuff you smash seems random to me too, like a log cabin no different to your own home. Then smashing up canoes but then after slapping the humans they just use surf boards instead.

Mr Bear and his friends commit an ecoterrorism spree. The industrial revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race, but it brought a whole another level of disasters to other animals, and they had enough.

Not a whole lot going on in this game, destroy the evil manmade objects, upgrade your weapon when your trash sack is full, slap the heck out of people to force them change careers. Enjoyment of this game comes from breaking things and changing the appearance of levels, and while it is fairly enjoyable to do so game's only 2 hours long, and lacks replay value(that is, unless you want to break things that you destroyed before). Buy on sale.

Cute game but with no challenge and little content.

I really liked Lumbearjack, it's cute, has a nice idea, gameplay is simple. Sadly, a bit too simple for my taste because all you really do is hit stuff. There are a few "use a golf club to hit a bomb towards things" moments that are a bit more creative but even those don't really pull you in.

I imagine that this would be a cute game for a child just getting into video games, as an adult i found it a bit boring.
It took me little over 2 hours to complete the game.

It's a nice little game, a bit repetitive right when it ends. Mechanics are pretty simple you chop smaller stuff to get scrap and improve your axe so you can chop down bigger stuff, slap each grey human as extra and trigger the bear trap in each level and the most difficult part will be the achievements for doing some stages in certain hits or moves.

Took me around 2-3h if you are searching for a chill little game or a game for the kids this one might be worth getting it on a bundle or a sale.
