LoveKami - Useless Goddess- — это именно тот тип визуальной новеллы, который зацепил меня не сюжетом «спасти вселенную», а тем, как он оборачивается вокруг обыденной жизни… с богиней-нарушительницей, которая умудряется быть одновременно бесполезной и гипнотически обаятельной.

С первых минут ты оказываешься в слегка альтернативном Токио, где богини спустились на Землю, но не для того, чтобы вести людей к просветлению — они спускаются, чтобы просто жить. Одна из них, Аканэ, буквально падает с небес на улицу прямо перед главным героем, Шо. Этот момент, где я впервые увидел её среди обычных горожан, мгновенно задаёт тон: здесь нет эпических пророчеств, есть смех, хаос и электрические неполадки, возникшие только потому, что Аканэ не знает, как контролировать свои силы.

Тема реабилитации богини — это не драматическое путешествие через ад внутреннего конфликта, а скорее ром-ком-казус о том, как научить “бесполезного бога” стирать носки, не взрывая весь квартал. Визуальные сцены с её беззаботным выражением лица, когда вокруг мелькают искры, — это маленькие жемчужины юмора, которые я вспоминаю до сих пор.

Но игра — не только только комедия абсурда. Её сердце — в отношениях: между Аканэ и Шо, между богинями друг с другом, и даже между Шо и его земной подругой, Майкой, которая живёт в том же доме и периодически краснеет, когда дело доходит до личного. Recommended, if you want a light, fanservice-heavy visual novel with cute goddesses and low-stress reading. LoveKami -Useless Goddess- knows exactly what it is, and it delivers a breezy romance/comedy vibe without pretending to be deeper than it needs to be.

The premise is simple: Sho ends up taking in Akane, a troublesome “Aragami” goddess who keeps causing chaos—especially power outages—around a quiet Tokyo neighborhood. Instead of the idol-focused setting from other entries, this one feels more like a small-town (or small-area) slice-of-life story where the goal is basically “please stop the goddess from wrecking everything.”

Character-wise, the game leans hard into familiar VN archetypes, but they’re still fun to hang out with. Akane is the bratty troublemaker who teases constantly, Inori is the serious (and surprisingly bold) earth goddess assigned to help keep things under control, and Maika adds the grounded “normal girl” energy with jealousy, warmth, and a bit of tsundere attitude. The cast chemistry is the main reason the story stays entertaining.

Don’t come in expecting complex gameplay, because this is mostly a straightforward read. Choices are limited and the biggest “game” part is picking who the story focuses on when it branches, so your enjoyment depends on whether you like the characters and the flavor of the jokes. If you want lots of branching routes and big consequences, this won’t scratch that itch.

Presentation is one of the strongest points. The art is bright and clean, the character sprites are lively, and the Japanese voice work adds a lot of personality even when the writing is being silly. It’s the kind of VN where the production value does a lot of work to keep the experience engaging.

The main downside is that it’s very trope-driven and very focused on ecchi teasing. The humor can be hit-or-miss, and the story exists mostly to move you from one character moment (or spicy gag) to the next. If you’re not into fanservice, you’ll bounce off it fast.

Overall, LoveKami -Useless Goddess- is best treated like comfort food: colorful, easy to consume, and mostly here for the vibes and the girls.
