Entering this game I thought it was going to be some cheesy mid game, yet as a dog lover, watching Dani get forced into that sewer kept me motivated to play until I found Dani and reached the end. It ended up being a phenomenal experience.
Every night I played this, I would turn every single light off besides my monitor and put on headphones at full volume to make it more immersive. It actually got to me. At certain points in the game I was stuck, like fighting the siren, but I eventually figured my way around it.
The portrayal of psychological horror with the mutated bugs, the claustrophobia, and the small mini story you piece together by reading notes was amazing. On top of that, the game really leans into themes of anxiety, isolation, paranoia, and distorted perception, which made everything feel even more unsettling. It reminded me a lot of Silent Hill 2.
This might honestly be one of my favorite games of all time. It kept me involved and I genuinely felt fear and anxiety while playing. With the PS1 style graphics, I assumed it was going to be like Murder House, which I thought was mid at most, but this surpasses it on so many levels, especially with the fast paced combat.
I noticed a lot of people beat this game in a day, but it took me from March 15 to the 24th to finish it, and it is the 24th as I am writing this.
I cannot recommend this game enough. Lost in Vivo is fantastic, and I think dog lovers will get involved almost instantly. I also felt a slight connection to Blair Witch, which I think is a very underrated piece of art.
Bisher sehr chillig. Schönes Design und gute Steuerung. Habe leider keine Angst vor engen Räumen, zumindest sind sie im Spiel normal- finde ich. Habe aus irgendeinem Grund mehr schiss im großen Räumen. Aber die Sache ist auch die, wer würde für sein Haustier nicht so etwas tuen? Bei Gott die hätten meinen Asch zerrissen, aber ich wäre reingegangen! Alles fürs Babytier!

Thank you, [b]Lost in Vivo[/b]. Now I’m afraid of the sewer system and tunnels in general. In this extremely claustrophobic and haunting atmosphere, you cannot live without anxiety jamming behind your head where the next surprise will occur. Glad I didn’t encounter any clowns carrying red balloons out there or my trauma would have been torn open.
The PS1 graphic style seems to be getting come back and it truly adds notch to the enhancing the spookiness overall.
I dare you to play this game while sitting in a dark room.

An excellent horror title that sorta feels like a mix of Silent Hill and Half-life. While the gameplay/combat/puzzles are pretty basic, the atmosphere/sound/art direction is top-notch! Much of the presentation here is something straight of a nightmare; bizarre creatures, cold and empty environments and subtle game effects that mess with the players mind (anyone remember the sanity meter from "Eternal Darkness" for gamecube?). While great game graphics are always cool, sometimes a [i] lack [/i] of that can actually add more of an effect. Case in point, this game!
Also, there is quite a bit of extra content hidden in the form of "tapes", which are basically their own separate little horror sequences you get to play through. In addition to tapes, there is also a secret dungeon-crawler type game mode that is VERY fun and cool, and other a few other extras and secrets. Strongly recommend checking all of it out!
Decent small indie horror game, very gloomy and creepy, resembling Silent Hill and Cry of Fear vibes, the combat isn't very good, level design is nice - no annoying confusions, but the corridors are sometimes repetitive and tiring. Amazing atmosphere, good extra content.

Absolutely wonderful game.
I remember watching a playthrough when I was younger and I always wanted to try it out myself. I am really glad that I was finally able to play it now even tho my laptop is really weak.
It took me about 5 hours to get through it until I achieved the good ending. (still trying to get the other endings)
Spoiler: It doesn't contain any brutal jumpscares, the worst thing is the atmosphere. It makes your body switch into high alert mode.
Don't make it harder for yourself; save the game. Walk back if you have to and save your progress, make sure to check your health and do not waste ammo.
If you like cute dogs and and totally scary places, buy this game. 12/10 :)

Probably one of the scariest games I have ever played. I have restarted this 4 times now and each time I have to play with my eyes squinted. Basically one hour per restart, which is also per year because I am terrified to open this game. Worth it.

Tétanisé, je l’ai été. Tétanisé par la peur qui m’a envahi durant mes excursions souterraines, confronté aux terreurs de Lost in Vivo. Tétanisé aussi par la manière dont cette œuvre semble être tombée dans le néant, sans aucun écho.
Lost in Vivo n’est rien d'autre qu’un incontournable pour tout amateur d’horreur, particulièrement si les brumes de Silent Hill vous attirent irrésistiblement.
Ce n’est pas un brouillard épais qui vous attend ici. On évolue plutôt dans des égouts poisseux, des métros miteux, quoique Silent Hill 4: The Room était bon pour ça, et autres joyeusetés suffocantes. Parfois linéaire parfois dans des lieux semi-ouvert, mais on y retrouve surtout un sentiment d’étouffement constant qui fait écho à la série maîtresse du genre. Les visuels dérangeants, la direction artistique oppressante, et une ambiance sonore au poil qui fatigue littéralement l’esprit, Lost in Vivo est un exemple de game design. Y jouer dans le noir, au casque, et l’oppression est garantie.
Là où l’affiliation avec Silent Hill est la plus forte à mon avis, c’est dans cette intelligence et cette maîtrise du propos. Le jeu aborde des sujets profonds et sensibles, la dépression, la claustrophobie, l’image de soi (un monstre très intelligemment construit sur ce point d’ailleurs), en reliant constamment la réalité aux représentations et aux événements vécus en jeu. Il confronte le joueur aux peurs et aux épreuves de son protagoniste, des épreuves qui peuvent résonner en chacun de nous.
Tout n’est que détail et symbolique. Fermez les yeux, et il ne s’agira que d’un simple indie horror qui présente tous les genres de l’horreur comme un train fantôme, dont il faudra s’extraire au plus vite. Observez, prenez votre temps, quitte à le refaire une seconde fois et c’est alors tout un terrier de lapin qui se dévoilera sous vos yeux.
Il serait malhonnête cependant de ne pas avouer que KIRA, l’auteur de cette œuvre, aurait pu distiller plus de détails quant au protagoniste que l’on contrôle, car une fois ceci assimilé notre vision globale de l'œuvre en vient à être bouleversé.
Affiches sur les murs, messages au sol, design des entités rencontrées, lieux traversés, actions accomplies : chaque strate du jeu a un sens et constitue une pièce d’un puzzle aussi troublant que fascinant.
KIRA, ne manque pourtant pas de notoriété, notamment dans le YouTube game français grâce à Feldup, qui avait traité de Basilisk. Malgré cela, le jeu reste très peu joué. Et pour l’amour du ciel, il mérite bien plus que d’être simplement regardé sur YouTube.
Certes, Lost in Vivo n’est pas disponible en français, mais il est relativement facile de passer outre et de prendre quelques minutes pour traduire les rares documents.
L’observation et votre capacité à tisser des liens entre tous les éléments que l’œuvre contient et présente au joueur seront vos meilleurs atouts. À plusieurs moments, le quatrième mur sera brisé comme cela a rarement été fait. Pensez à Psycho Mantis qui lit votre carte mémoire, mais pour en faire l’expérience, il faudra y jouer !

One of the best games ever, on the level of Silent Hill 2.
Your dog fell down a drain! But instead of finding her, you experience the horrors... of trains coming to life, and those trains are hungry for YOU! Ugly bugs and rats who are hungry for your eyes.
This game was honestly very fun and was the first Silent Hill-style horror game I've ever beaten. I enjoyed its scares and how there are multiple new chasers or threats coming after you in each area you go to. Which allows the tension to always stay fresh! Additionally, the puzzles, while there weren’t many, felt interesting too! I enjoyed learning about the sections of the story and how they are related to the main characters' own lives.
However, there's an area towards the end that felt like a slog to get through. As it was less of a puzzle-solving process and more of a trial-and-error one. Furthermore, there are sections of the game where you won’t be able to pass through if you're missing a specific easy-to-lose item, thus hard-locking your save! I had to edit my lock picks back in.
Yet, despite all these silly things, I thought this game was lovely and I'll be playing it again to achieve the other endings!

Jogo muito bom, tem um horror grotesco muito único e que chega a dar agonia de jogar (o que é excelente para mim, já que adoro jogos que me tiram da zona de conforto). A ambientação, nojenta e claustrofóbica, é bem imersiva. O único problema do jogo são algumas falhas técnicas causadas pela Unity, mas são poucas e não atrapalham a experiência como um todo. 9/10.
Very atmospheric and scary, the enemies were the highlight of the game. The puzzles ranged from extremely easy to frustratingly difficult but not because they were hard to understand but because there was no explanation on the correct thing to do. You'll understand what i mean if you play the painting/apple puzzle. Other than that short and enjoyable experience with a lot of post game content that i didn't delve into. Recommend maybe on sale or on a whim

Of course, every Lost in Vivo review is going to point that out immediately (if it weren't already obvious by the game's visuals), but it bears repeating because of how on-the-nose it is.
This is a game made out of a deep love for horror and games and horror games. It's spooky, it's funny, and it's an enjoyable experience that appeals to fans of Silent Hill, Siren, Resident Evil, and frankly people who want to have a good scary time. The graphics are purposefully dated and match the atmosphere, the level design is solid without having any infuriating puzzles, and the soundtrack is legitimately amazing.
As of now, Lost in Vivo is among Total Chaos and Cry of Fear as games that successfully iterate upon their Silent Hill predecessors, oozing with charm. It's definitely worth playing.

This game is great, and very scary. If you like the old Resident Evil and Silent Hill games, this will be right up your alley. What else can I say that better reviews than mine haven't already said? This game is worth the price of admission, and worth a playthru.
It can't decide whether it wants to be a walking simulator or a survival horror and it comes out being the worst of both, with some little fourth wall breaking touches which Eternal Darkness did years ago much better, it really is overrated for what it is.

точно сделаю возврат, весь сюжет я понял за пол часа не пройдя и половину игры (и даже проверил себя в браузере, каждая догадка о сюжете оказалась верна XD) такое чувство будто я поиграл в платную пародию (как по сюжету так и по геймплею) на cry of fear (особенно о cry of fear напомнила смерть когда игрока сбивает поезд если тот "выходит за границу мира" через пустой туннель), из-за того что враги проходят сквозь стены (я так и не понял баг это или нет) убить их не получив порцию дамага невозможно хотя в целом противники легкие если находится в открытом пространстве.
Игра очень разочаровала, ожидал большего(
Ce qui distingue Lost in Vivo d'un énième projet de jeu d'horreur indépendant à la 1ère personne c'est sans doute une approche plus ambitieuse. On reste sur un jeu assez court, un truc fait à la main par une poignée de personnes, dont le développeur KIRA qui visiblement aime se mettre en avant en affichant son nom un peu partout. Un jeu d'horreur psychologique qui va plus ou moins dans la même démarche qu'un Silent Hill, et ne fait pas l'impasse sur les combats. En proposant quelques armes au corps au corps, et de plus rares armes à feu (bien cachées!) il créé un équilibre entre survival léger et horreur atmosphérique qui fait quand même plaisir pour un jeu de ce genre.
Le but est simple : retrouver son chien et sortir de cet enfer. La progression est alternée entre des moments de transitions assez linéaires et des zones semi-ouvertes qu'il faut explorer pour accomplir un objectif nécessaire à la progression. Rien de nouveau, c'est certain. Mais on peut pas renier une certaine maîtrise, une mise en œuvre efficace. Lost in Vivo fait beaucoup d'emprunts (notamment à P.T.) mais recèle aussi de moments ingénieux pour surprendre ou déboussoler le joueur. Difficile d'en parler sans gâcher la surprise, mais il aime briser le 4ème mur d'une façon que je n'avais pas vu depuis Eternal Darkness. Un de ces moments ne serait pas d'ailleurs possible hors de Steam…
L'horreur passe aussi par un design des monstres réussis. Ce jeu donne vraiment l'impression d'enfoncer en profondeur dans ses cauchemars, de confronter ses peurs les plus intimes. Il explore des thèmes comme la claustrophobie ou l'image de soi. Le scénario possède une certaine richesse mais manque peut-être d'une attache émotionnelle, d'un élément pour nous impliquer davantage. Cela aurait pu se faire en développant davantage le personnage principal. Il déploie un lore assez cryptique qui va demander plusieurs parties et la découverte de certains secrets bien cachés pour être entièrement compris. Le jeu est généreux en ce sens, avec des modes de jeux supplémentaires, plusieurs fins et des niveaux bonus courts sous forme de cassettes audio étrange. Oui, il s'inscrit aussi dans le délire VHS/rétro très répandu maintenant.
Lost in Vivo est pour moi une réussite parce qu'il n'oublie pas d'être un jeu, plutôt qu'un ensemble de scénettes scriptés. Il a, je pense, un potentiel horrifique qui parvient à toucher même les plus coutumiers des jeux d'horreurs d'entre nous. Et ça ce n'est pas rien.

О Lost in Vivo я узнал, как ни странно, из спотифая. Крайне добротный эмбиент, который слушаю на ежедневной основе. Наконец, мои руки дошли и до самого проекта. Очень зашла атмосфера СХ, почет и поклон разработчику. Противники кайфовые, из всех больше всего зашел - монстр поезд.
Честно говоря, я больше получал удовольствие от путешествия по мрачным локациям, чем от сюжетки, которая лично для меня закончилась на финале истории Джейн. Мне показалось, не особо страшной, а посему, рекомендую пройти проект даже тем, кто обходит хорроры сторой. Единственный и правда страшный момент в игре - это неожиданное появление одноглазого бомжа в начале игры.

Ein absolutes Horror Meisterwerk. Schon lange hat mich kein Indie Horrorgame so sehr beeindruckt wie Lost in Vivo. Der Artstyle ist fantastisch und passt perfekt zur düsteren, verstörenden Umgebung. Die Story ist unglaublich gut und wird auf eine sehr subtile Weise erzählt.
Das Spiel erinnert stark an Silent Hill und Cry of Fear, was ich persönlich total liebe. Besonders das Sounddesign trägt massiv zur Atmosphäre bei und sorgt dafür, dass man sich ständig unwohl und angespannt fühlt.
Ich habe das Spiel von Anfang bis Ende geliebt. Die engen Räume, die bedrückende Stimmung und die Geräusche sorgen dafür, dass man sich permanent unwohl fühlt und nie genau weiß, was als Nächstes passiert. Ich kann das Spiel jedem Horrorfan empfehlen, besonders denen, die Cry of Fear und Silent Hill lieben.
Ich fand es sehr gut. Der Gruselfaktor ist durchschnittlich. Aber das hat mich nicht gestört. Es gab genug zu sehen und das Spiel hat einige gute und unterhaltsame Einfälle. Für Leute, die ungewöhnlichere Spielverläufe und Atmosphäre mögen, wozu ich gehöre. 8/10

Time flies, I've had this game in my library for quite some time now, and after all these years I've finally went ahead and played it from the start to the end. AND I LOVED IT!!!
This game has a very distinctive and interesting style, it feels like its something familiar, while still doing its own thing. Love to see it.
Only critique i have? is that the Shotgun felt useless, i understand why? since its said to be a riot gun? but please... i found myself relying on the Pistol for most of my encounters.

Holy hell is this game scary, I've played resident evil looking for a good scare and came back disappointed, i played silent hill 2 for a good scare and I enjoyed it very much but it wasn't scary. THIS GAME, this ♥♥♥♥ is scary, from the sound design to the visuals to horrifying moments it throws you in. I got scared by a train, a living train that tricked me and I almost died on the spot IRL and in game.
Great one! Kira nailed it right from the start. Though I still haven't finished it, my recommendation is - play it and enjoy.

This game had serious lack of polish.
The combat was very meaningless, the visuals while nice were often a little pointless due to the immense darkness and fog. The sounds of the game, while scary, is never as pleasing as the music in the trailer. I beat the game in 3 hours and I felt like it should have been much longer.
Before you buy, note that this has nothing on Silent Hill and while its trailer has a very Silent Hill inspired theme song its most certainly more similar to modern horror slop with the typical mental health issue centred plotline.

This game is weird, the story-telling is inconsistent. It builds itself up slowly at first but before you know it, the game just turns into a different story inside a somewhat if not mostly unrelated environment out of nowhere, making said environment even more unfitting when for instance,[spoiler] leaving a mine shaft through a fancy door after a puzzle, you suddenly end up entering a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ experiment-lab of sorts with a different story compared to the previous place that *sort of* had its own story, TOTALLY unrelated to the experimental-lab as an upcoming chapter mind you.[/spoiler]
on one note though, there was a small, unexpected event that had occured in the game itself, [spoiler] during the experimental-lab chapter, where a "Bug" had occured of a corpse disappearing, the game spazzing out while leaving error messages unfit to the game's style. It was the only real scary thing I had experienced in this game.[/spoiler] making it the only interesting part of Lost in Vivo.
I actually thought the dev had realized something, and so having decided to steer it to some other direction beyond my understanding, making it perhaps more interesting. In hindsight however, a disappointing realization of it having been nothing.

Oh my God, what a weak game...
I was expecting so much, since a lot of people praised it and made videos about it.
Lost in Vivo takes everything Silent Hill and Resident Evil did well and makes it worse, turning it into an underwhelming, repetitive, and overrated experience.
I don't recommend the game because it fails in every aspect except ATMOSPHERE. The atmosphere is scary, but the rest is terrible: mediocre combat and puzzle-solving, short gameplay length (beaten in less than 4 hours on my first playthrough), and almost non-existent lore. There are only some “doctor” notes and generic entries about someone going crazy, zero character development and no real reasons for the game’s events, whether the monsters are real or hallucinations. All of this is camouflaged by the fact that the game has a dog. “WOW, the game has a cute little dog, I’ll give it 5 stars.”
The laboratory section has “bugs” when picking up a corpse (it’s not a bug!1!!1! it’s a scripted event 🤓). Yeah, I get it, but why on earth would you do that? Why would you add a fake bug/glitch that breaks immersion and makes the player think the game is broken? That makes no sense, in my opinion.
The level transitions are awful. It could simply fade to black, but instead it abruptly loads the next level, from the streets to the sewer, and later from the sewer back to the streets. It’s a small detail, but a huge negative for me.
Honestly, if you want a true horror experience, go play Cry of Fear or Afraid of Monsters (both free and able to run on almost any PC), because this one left a lot to be desired.
I don’t want to insult the developer Kira at all, especially since I love his other titles like CorpseOcean and Paraedolon, but Lost in Vivo was a disappointing experience considering how much people praise it.

5 minutes of walking your dog in thunder with almost nothing on screen to look at. like a 10 second loop until you get to the next part of the game. arrive in the sewer drain, annnd all the audio is gone. other people with the same bug on forums. trail and error found you need to reset the game and change volume level up or down in game every time this happens.
- large amounts of empty halls you will be walking down
- save points are far apart
- not really horror and extra not horror when the sound stops working
I was so late to playing this game, but man... I missed out. Great story, very psychological horror.

Короче, ничего лучше cry of fear уже не будет. Есть еще какой-то ублюдский баг со звуком, в меню игры он есть, дальше его нет, что с этим делать? не понятно

I'm kinda late to the party but this game is very nice. I like a lot of the sections, the game has a very classic silent hill feel. It's got a bunch of fun secrets and extra modes. I think the only thing I was sad to see was that the mersus tapes never got finished, but they were intended to be essentially a free DLC so it's hard to complain. They also don't add toooooo much to the game, they're essentially unrelated short stories which while good don't add to much to the core game experience. Overall I really liked this and went for most of the achievements. If you enjoy silent hill style kinda horror give this one a go.

This game is a weird experience and very convoluted.
I will talk about the good:
1. The Graphics works exactly to the puporse, I loved that.
2. Atmosphere is really good, Very scary.
3. The Voice Acting marvellous even if there's not much.
4. Interface shows to be a tribute to Silent Hill which is a Nice point from my end.
5. Length is quite good.
6. Easy to save and maintain progress and there's a lot of creativity involved there.
The Not-so-good
1. Depends a lot of jump scare which I personally hate it, A good horror/terror game can be made without depending on that.
2. [spoiler]The Shotgun doesn't work, the weapons are not very good, only the knife.[/spoiler]
The Bad:
1. The pacing of the story is convoluted, It seems that is trying to tell you multiple stories at the same time and any story is really well explained...
2. The Lack of Health Bar is annoying, you just have to assume how much HP you have left.

I would say is a very good game, you may need to look for the Wiki to understand what you just played, Kira is a great developer and has another game which Story I believe is far better called Lunacid. This I believe was a previous project.

a man will do anything for his dog and this game proves it also just to add trapping the monster in the door near the end of the game is a pain in the arse and i never want to do it again this is my only complaint good game !
