Das Spiel gefällt mir nicht. Die Steuerung ist unnötig kompliziert und man wird unter Zeitdruck gesetzt. Es erscheint die Einblendung "Versuchs nochmal", die nie wieder verschwindet und ich konnte nicht herausfinden, wie ich es nochmal versuchen kann. Das alles ist einfach nur schlecht gemacht. Schade um das Geld und die Mühe.
Fühlt sich an wie eine Alpha-Version. Teilweise fehlende Mundbewegungen beim Sprechen, komische Bugs die durch das komische Timing-System ausgelöst werden und den Text "Das hat leider nicht geklappt" permanent auf dem Bildschirm erscheinen lassen. Der klägliche Versuch ein Grafikadventure irgendwie in ein Controller-geeignetes Format zu verpacken. Random Crashes die einen Stunden zurückwerfen wegen fehlendem Autosave.
Das absolute Gegenteil von allem, was Animation Arts mit Geheimakte und Lost Horizon auf die Beine gestellt hat. Kein Wunder, dass es hiernach bergab ging.
Wer das hier spielen will, sollte daran denken, regelmäßig zu speichern.

Первая была просто неплохой, может даже хорошей игрой. Бедной, но хорошей. Индиана Джонс на голодном пайке. Вторая и бедная, и плохая. Протухший Сломанный Меч. Будто другие люди делали, хотя если присмотреться к структуре - да нет, пожалуй, те же самые. Просто с оригиналом им повезло, на сиквел везения уже не хватило.
Она короче в два раза (4,5 часа против 10), но зато нелогичных ситуаций в ней намного больше. Постоянно перепрыгиваем из одной страны в другую, на каждую приходится в среднем локации три. Сюжет абсолютно идиотский и противоречит сам себе. В общем, понятно, почему третьей части не последовало.
Po REWELACYJNEJ pierwszej części oczekiwałem słabszej, ale zbliżonej jakościowo gry. Niestety, druga część to produkt, który nie powinien w ogóle powstać i należy OMIJAĆ go szerokim łukiem.
Fabuła gry jeszcze w miarę się trzyma (walka z nazistami, poszukiwanie szkatułki z runami, ratowanie córki przez głównego bohatera, wątki mitologii nordyckiej), ale reszta czyli grafika, jakość filmów, rozmowy a przede wszystkim zagadki do rozwiązania to już błoto i 3 warstwy mułu.
Zagadki były nietrudne, ale nielogiczne. Dobrą rzeczą w tym wszystkim była gotowa solucja w opcjach.
Szkoda, liczyłem na przyzwoitą przygodówkę Point&Click, Nie polecam, to gra dla TYLKO naprawdę wielkich fanów przygodówek
This game is genuinaly rubbish, and you should only buy it if the following factors apply;
1. You enjoy adventure caper storylines set in the past (1950s Cold War in this case)
2. You are prepared to put up with many areas of subpar graphics and cutscenes that look far worse than the first game
3. You are prepared to put up with frequent bugs and crashing. Just starting the game would take me half a dozen times on occasion before it would work
4. You enjoy overly convoluted puzzles or are happy using a walkthrough to cheese through most of it
5. The game is on deep sale (90% off or more)
If none of those apply, it’s not worth it.
To go into more detail, this feels like an attempt to correct areas of criticism that the first game had, but the money ran out half way through. This is combined with a number of other bizarre choices that leave the game just feeling like a mess.
Firstly, as I understand it, the game runs on an old version of Unity. It crashed all the time for me. I tried fixes, but through my attempts to diagnose issues via the logs and the help of Chatgpt, it seems it’s just inherent to the game. I tried a few fixes such as disabling overlays, but they didn’t help much. As the game progressed the crashes got better, but I essentially had to save scum to ensure I didn’t lose progression, and the fact that quick save is removed, unlike the first game, is very annoying.
Secondly, the game manages the remarkable achievement of both looking really pretty at points, and absolutely terrible at others. The landscapes/backgrounds look beautiful, and are all gorgeous and interesting to look at. I was always keen to see where the next location would be and there’s a great variety. On the other hand, character models are awful, and the cutscenes look like they are from the year 2000. The character models look far worse than the previous game, which used a slightly cartoony style to cover imperfections. Here characters are badly animated and modelled, to the point where in many dialogue scenes characters don’t even move their lips. When they do it’s just badly animated flapping. The worst character is Gwen, the main characters daughter, who looks nothing like her depiction on the cover art, and instead looks like a mannequin. Noticeably as the game progresses, the perspective from each area gets further and further away, as if the developers realised how bad the characters look. I note that none of the screenshots show close ups of characters either, focusing on the nice landscapes instead.
On the gameplay front, puzzles seem to have been increased in difficulty from the first game, but they seem to have become needlessly convoluted and difficult. Perhaps I would have had a bit more fun if I had engaged in the puzzles without a walk-through, but after chapter 2, between crap puzzles and all the crashing I lost patience and began cheesing it. The game does provide a walk-through that is literally accessible in game, so perhaps the developers realised they’d made it too hard. To give an idea how annoying some puzzles are, in chapter 2 you need to find a hidden entrance to a bunker. In the game you find a partial map, and you need to find another map to combine with it, which gives you directions. Using this, I could clearly navigate to the spot required, but the game wouldn’t let me interact or progress until I had done another puzzle, where I created balloons from bits of rubbish found in the game to mark areas in the landscape to “orientate” the main character. This allowed me then to go back to the same location that I had already found earlier and finally progress.
The game also tries to be a bit more action focused to match the adventure story line, with quick time events and short sort of stealth sections, and 3d adventure sections. These are all awful, with clunky, unresponsive controls and unclear directions.
On the story front, it has jumped forward 20 years. The main voice actor from the first game has been replaced, which makes sense I guess as he’s many years older and gone through the war, and now appears to be an agent for British intelligence, though much of this is implied rather than stated. Other than Paddock, none of the characters from the first game appear, this includes Kim who appears to have abandoned her and Paddock’s daughter.
The choice to skip forward 20 years is bizarre, it’s the sort of thing you do if making a legacy sequel to a film and all the cast are aged and some aren’t available. It seems odd to do it here in a video game released only 5 years after the first, and abandoned the characters and pre war setting that worked well for the first game. Paddock is not as cheery or quippy as the first game, and is less fun overall, which again makes sense, he’s been hardened, but it’s never really addressed. He’s also a terrible father, packing his daughter off to boarding school and apparently literally having never been with her for any of her birthdays. Bizarrely Gwen, his daughter, doesn’t seem to have many negative feelings over this.
The story line is off pacing wise and feels like chunks were removed. For example at one point we are told we need to search for some information at Sandhurst Military Academy, which feels like it will lead to a gameplay section there, but the next cutscene we are off to Jersey instead, and it’s just said that Paddock’s “contacts” told him he needed to go there. The main villains are very poorly explained. They wanted vengeance after witnessing the death of their father as children by the Nazis, but it doesn’t explain why they hate Paddock so much, other than them being evil. The super powered ancient viking/asgard artifacts don’t really seem to make much sense in their quest to hunt Nazi war criminals either. The ending of the story is god awful, descending into mystic magic Viking ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ but never really introducing it. The first game at least introduced and explained it’s mystic ideas over the course of the game which made it feel more natural. The game also ends abruptly after the core conflict is resolved, with no wrap up or coda. There also seem to be less chapters in the game, with the length artificially extended by hard puzzles. There are only 6 chapters and a couple are really short.
I did enjoy the various beautiful locations, and laughing along at some of the choices or leaps of logic the game makes (why an earth would the Soviets hide the entrance to their secret base under the coffins of Stalin and Lenin for example?). I liked the ambience or vibe of the game as well, there’s not many games I can think of that have you running around as a secret agent in Egypt during the Suez crisis.
I’m glad I used a walkthrough to blast through this in less than 6 hours and I still can’t shake the feeling that I’ve wasted my time here. It’s overall unsatisfying, and the only useful things I’ve taken away is looking at how it’s failed and general pleasure in ragging on the game, though considering how low profile it is, that does feel somewhat like screaming into a void.
EDIT - It appears that many of the crashes may be related to instability with my CPU - an 14900K, rather than the games fault. Thanks to intel and their shoddy workmanship, it can cause crashes and instability to many games. I initially thought this was just some newer games, such as UE5, but it appears that Unity really doesn't play nice, as I had similar crash and instability issues with the game Shadow Tactics, also on the Unity engine. Using Intel XTU to lower the core ratio by a couple of points completely ended the crashes in Shadow Tactics, and would likely do the same here.
The rest of the review stands. It still has bugs, terrible puzzles, bad graphics, and a pretty rubbish plot, but it will probably be stable to play.
You can skip this one. Weak story, bad voice acting, weak puzzles overall (why is there QTE and "stealth" sections in this game, who knows). This is probably AA weakest adventure game.

- molti enigmi o sono troppo facili o difficili in modo stupido (tipo fare cose a caso finché non si risolve ma senza una logica o inidizi sufficienti).
- La storia non è un gran ché... anzi non mi sono piaciute le scelte rispetto all'evoluzione dal primo capitolo.

Darn it. I lovd the first Lost Horizon, but I can't get past the motorcyle chase on this one. You have to click on arrows really fast and I just couldn't do it. I tried maybe 20 times! Why don't they let us skip this? I looked for help, and someone recommended reducing my graphics settings, but that didn't work. I hate timed sequences, and I hate action/arcade things. Can't continue past the 2 hours I played so far.
Great point and click adventure game, good story/graphics/puzzles.
But it has some technical issues, the game was crashing a lot which makes the game unplayable.
Lost Horizon 2 is unplayable.
It starts OK, but the more you progress the longer saving and loading takes.
In Chapter 6 it takes about 10 min to save and nearly 15 min to load, on a good PC that can play a variety of much more demanding recent titles without issues.
It also crashes.
As a result, I'm unable to progress further.
Update: I finally managed to complete the game by
- restarting from the beginning with minimal graphics
- minimizing the number of saves (a single save at the beginning of each chapter)
- completing each chapter in a single playthrough without intermediary save
Don't know if this is a sure recipe, but I hope it helps reach the end if you decide to purchase the game.
Don't know why it's rated that low. Yeah, it's a bit short maybe, but a good P&C game nonetheless.
The backgrounds look nice and puzzles are okay, too.

The characters are so badly voiced that no connection to the player is established at any time.

Vždycky se snažím najít alespoň trošku něco pozitivního na hře, ale toto se fakt moc nedá doporučit... Jakoby světlé chvilky ta hra má, ale fakt málo... Přidali extra interakci, ale hře to moc nepomáhá. Tvůrci udělali parádní jedničku, ale toto je slabota - těžká. Příběh průměr, grafika se mi fakt nelíbila. Kontrast barev divný, nepříjemný a pak cutsceny co vypadali hůř jak hra.. Zas ale nižší rozpočet by nevadil kdyby ta hra byla fakt dobrá.. Předměty v jedné lokaci v inventáři co jste ani nakonec nepotřebovali a táhli to sebou nevím proč?? A na co bylo furt tolik věcí celkově v inventáři?! Dabing Fentona jiný a nepříjemný. Pak taky výpadky hry jako to, že mi to spadlo ve stoce párkrát ok, ale v lese tak to byl mazec. To jak někam přejdete tak to okamžitě uložte nebo vám rupnou nervy, Takže je to fakt škoda, ale celkové hodnocení hry je tak bohužel 3/10
První díl adventury Lost Horizon jsem ohodnotil jako lehce nadprůměrnou hru. Příběh byl značně předvídatelný, ale i tak napínavý a zábavný. Podobná očekávání jsem měl i od druhého dílu. Jenže ten se už od prvních okamžiků malinko zadrhává.
Jako první do očí bije grafické zpracování, které je tentokrát 3D render, který není tak pěkný, jako grafika prvního dílu. To se ještě dá odpustit, horší je to s celkovou těžkopádností při ovládání. Když někam kliknu, nějakou dobu to trvá, než se postava začne hýbat. Často je vidět, že animace úplně nesedí nebo se postava někde zasekne. Toto všechno dokážu překousnout, pokud mi hra nabídne dobrý příběh a hratelnost.
Jenže ouha, příběh se také moc nepovedl. Je o hodně kratší a jsou zde celkem 3 hratelné postavy, takže si hlavní postavu, Fentona Paddocka, ani moc neužijeme. Horší ale je, že v příběhu jsou značné díry. [spoiler]Předně mi vadí, že vůbec není řečeno, co se stalo s Kim, postavou z prvního dílu a matkou Gwen. Naznačuje se, že pravděpodobně umřela, ale nic se neřekne narovinu. Pak zde jsou zase situace, kdy se někam dostaneme, střih a jsme jinde. Například když se Anna složitě vloupá do budovy, pak se schová před Rusy, dozví se informace a střih: už je v jiné lokaci. Pak má hledat bunkr, jehož lokace je zřejmá pomocí mapy. Takže místo, aby šla rovnou na místo, o což jsem se s ní snažil, musela nejprve vytvářet jakési balonky nebo lampiony, věšet je na výchozí body a pak lozit na rozhlednu aby: viděla přesně to místo, které už bylo na mapě. Facepalm[/spoiler].
A do třetice. [spoiler]Anna zmizí z vlaku, zatímco Fenton spí. Ten po probuzení vůbec neřeší, kam zmizela. Dost složitým a hloupým způsobem se dostane do tajné střežené laboratoře, kam je vstup přímo u rakví Stalina a Lenina v Mauzoleu. Přitom se stačí dostat k rakvím, na hledání vstupu se nějak zapomnělo. Následně se proplíží až ke své vězněné dceři, najednou se objeví soudruh a schovává se za Annu, kterou má jako rukojmí. Fenton neváhá, hází skalpel a trefuje schovávajícího se soudruha do oka! Anna mu pak řekne, že se plížila v jeho stopách. Ale že se vůbec nezajímá, jak se dostala na základnu, když se tam sám dostával dost složitým způsobem. Následně střih a všichni tři jsou ve vlaku a jedou zpět do Evropy. Jak se z té vojenské základny dostali? Ještě se spící Gwen. Uznávám, že se to trochu později vysvětlí tím, co je Anna ve skutečnosti zač, ale i tak, ten průběh prostě nedává smysl[/spoiler].
Hratelnost dostala taky slušně zabrat. Asi nejvíc mě štve, že některé předměty je potřeba aplikovat na větší oblast obrazovky a bez jakékoliv interakce. [spoiler]Tím mám na mysli nanášení roztoku na obrazy nebo čištění rzi na tabuli pomocí kartáče. Na to, že se něco skutečně děje jsem v prvním případě přišel náhodou, v tom druhém bohužel až z návodu[/spoiler]. Taky dojde i na klasický mor všech adventur: stealth pasáže. Zde navíc okořeněné nepovedeným ovládáním, kdy se Fenton nezastaví na daném místě nebo se naopak nehýbe, když je to už potřeba. Moc to nezachrání ani minihry, pokud mě paměť nešálí, [spoiler]tak je tu jen pitomý útěk na motorce plný quick time eventů a naopak zábavný průchod na plošince v bludišti, který je až v závěru[/spoiler].
Z předchozích odstavců nejspíš plyne, že jsem si hraní tentokrát moc neužíval. Když se snažím vzpomenout na pozitivní věci, napadá mne asi jen celkem příjemná hudba, jedna narážka na Indiana Jonese a hlavně celkem povedená poslední kapitola. Ostatně nebýt ní, šlo by hodnocení minimálně o další bod dolů.

I can not recommend this game at all, it's a sad and poor excuse of a sequel to a decent game.
I have all the Secret Files games from this studio and both LH 1 & 2 and out of all of them LH2 is the worst.
And yes this game can easily be completed within 3-4 hours.
I'm not a huge fan of the Lost Horizon series to begin with. I've seen too many times the LH games get compared to the Secret Files series and that can't be farther from the truth really... Especially in the case of this game.
This story is a continuation of the first game- with Fenton and now his daughter Gwen.
I know Fenton is older but they stripped his character of what he once was, now he's more serious.
A lot of the change is poor writing but more or less because Kim was tired of him-
[spoiler]Kim isn't in this game, her and Fenton are married yet not together in this one because she was tired of how he was so she left. She gets mentioned, but doesn't show up at all.[/spoiler]
A lot of the charm and heart for this series is in the first game, from the characters to even the writing, and the puzzles.
I'm unsure what happened to this game but it's legit not the same.
There are bugs kinda riddled everywhere.
Playing this game it felt more.... like it was rushed or was forced to be 'finished' so to speak. maybe a very low budget.
Puzzles are anywhere from easy to hard, so it's mixed pretty well.
The graphics are...... wonky. Some of the graphics are ok, while others are worse... But to be honest after Secret Files 1 & 2 the graphic quality did start dropping.
They tried to do new things with this game too, which is where I think a lot of the downfall is.
The QTE's were a bad addition, like with the infamous motorcycle chase.
I wanted to like the game, especially being a sequel by Animation Arts, but this falls so short. It really should've been a completely different game.

Short, buggy and both too easy and too hard at the same time. Most of the puzzles were ridiculously easy, while some of the item interactions were ridiculous. Had to triage the game to get it to work right, but I am not sure it was worth the effort. Even at a reduced price I would not recommend.
I liked the sequel. Cool ending. The only thing missing here was Kim.
This game is full of bugs, the motor bike chase is almost impossible to beat, the phone in Keosslers house wont work, can't get much further. This game is a waste of money.

I didn't think it was as bad as some of the reviews had said. There were a few puzzles that could've used a bit more of a hint to solve but overall it was good.
Schöne Rätsel.
Ich wollte mir aufgrund der negativen Rezessionen im Internet das Spiel zuerst nicht zulegen. Habe es aber dann doch getan, da ich den Vorgänger gespielt habe und bin nicht enttäuscht worden. Mir haben die Rätsel gut gefallen und die Story fand ich auch interessant. Mir hat das Spiel Spaß gemacht. In der Regel sind diese durch Logik zu lösen. Wenn man mal wie bei dem Säulen Rätsel mit dem Raben nicht weiterkam kam, obwohl ich den Ansatz dazu hatte, so kann man die mitgelieferte Lösung nehmen und das Rätsel lösen, was komfortabel ist. Die Bedienung fand ich gut und Grafik und Ton waren auch in Ordnung,

Dieses Spiel habe ich mir vor einigen Wochen im Angebot gekauft. Der Trailer hat mich direkt überzeugt, obwohl ich eigentlich nicht unbedingt der Freund von sogenannten "Point & Click" Games bin. Dennoch habe ich das Spiel nun ausführlich getestet und kann euch nun ein wenig vom Gameplay berichten.
Das Spiel "Lost Horizon 2" wurde vom Entwicklerstudio "Animation Arts GmbH" entwickelt und beinhaltet ein sogenanntes "Point & Click" Adventure, in dem man seine, von Nazis entführte Tochter, befreien muss. Vorab möchte ich sagen, dass ich zum aktuellen Moment, den ersten und laut den Bewertungen besseren Teil, noch nicht gespielt habe. Dennoch hat mich diese Fortsetzung bereits begeistert. Was mich innerhalb dem Game ziemlich erstaunt hat, ist die Tatsache, dass es in diesem Spiel actionreiche und lebendige Filmabschnitte gibt, welche die Geschichte dahinter extrem spannend und abwechslungsreich gestalten. Desweiteren möchte ich die durch aus gute Vertonung der einzelnen Charaktere hervorheben. Im übrigen hat dieses Spiel sogar eine Komplettlösung innerhalb des Menüs eingebaut, falls man mal nicht weiter kommen sollte. Grafisch wirken die einzelnen Bilder eher rustikal und nicht mehr dem Zeitalter entsprechend, was für mich jedoch nicht weiter schlimm war. Um ehrlich zu sein, passt das sogar ganz gut in die erzählte Geschichte hinein. Dennoch hatte ich auch einige Probleme mit dem Spiel. Manchmal blieb der Charakter in den einzelnen Ebenen hängen oder das Game stürzte gänzlich ab, weshalb ich bereits mehrmals meinen Fortschritt über die zeit verloren habe. Das kann einen durchaus sehr frustrieren. Im übrigen hat das Spiel keine Errungenschaften und hat einen stolzen Preis von rund 15€.
Ich persönlich empfehle das Game, trotz der paar Probleme, gerne weiter. Die Story ist sehr solide, die einzelnen Rätsel sind gut durchdacht, auch wenn man manchmal nicht direkt weis was zu tun ist. Ansonsten finde ich das Spiel durchaus akzeptabel. Wenn euch der Preis zu viel ist, kauft es euch auch, wie ich, im Angebot. Macht euch am besten ein eigenes Bild davon. Müsst ihr wissen.

Mir gefällt der Stil im zweiten Teil tatsächlich besser als im Ersten. Ich liebe einfach diesen "3D"-Artstyle. Vergleichbar mit Spielen wie Geheimakte, Black Mirror und co.
Und es gab übrigens auch nur eine einzige Szene im Spiel mit Quicktime Events. Alles in Allem ein tolles, klassisches Point and Click! Allerdings hätte es etwas länger sein dürfen :)
A shallow, unpolished, unfinished sequel that pesters you with unnecessary quick-time events that have no place in a point & click game, as well as some extremely annoying mechanical puzzles. The decent voice acting and some truly stunning settings cannot salvage this obviously rushed (and fairly short) sequel. Worth it only if you get it for a euro or so.

Wie im Teil 1 wird eine Variante des Indiana-Jones-Themas präsentiert.
Die aktuelle Handlung spielt 1956, es gibt aber ausgiebige Rückblenden bis in die Zeit des Dritten Reiches. Mit einer von ihnen beginnt auch gleich das Spiel.
Es geht um ein Artefakt, hinter dem nicht nur ein Wissenschaftler sondern auch die Nazis und später einige andere Parteien interessiert sind. Der Brite Fenton Braddock, den man aus Teil 1 kennen kann und hier brav seiner Arbeit als britischer Spion nachgeht, wird in diese Jagd unfreiwillig hineingezogen, als er von der geheimnisvollen Anne aus einer misslichen Lage gerettet wird (und seine Tochter - die man im Titelbild neben ihm sieht - in der Klemme steckt, was er aber noch nicht weiß).
Es ist eine abenteuerliche Hetzjagd durch Europa, unterhaltsam vielleicht, aber auch ziemlich unglaublich und voller Stereotypen. Einiges ist schon leicht unterirdisch, aber wenn man Hollywood mag, könnte dies egal sein. Mindestens zwei überraschende Wendung gab es auch noch, in etwa vom gleichen Kaliber. Das Ende war zwar interessant, aber irgendwie völlig abwegig, weil die Konsequenzen daraus überhaupt nicht erörtert wurden.

[b]Gameplay[/b]
Objekte sammeln, kombinieren und einsetzen ist die Hauptaufgabe. Von vernünftig bis absurd ist alles dabei. Typischerweise sind wir völlig unvorbereitet im Einsatz und müssen ad hoc die Objekte in unserer Umgebung nutzen. Nichts, was man als erfahrener Spieler des Genres nicht schon erlebt hat.
Es gab auch ein paar Aufgaben wie das Eingeben eines Codes u.ä. Das ist überwiegend gut gelungen.
Daneben hat man sich verschiedene Actionelemente überlegt und an manchen Stellen eingesetzt. Timergebundene Aufgaben sind da dabei (falls man es nicht schafft, kriegt man einfach eine weitere Chance) und einmal auch ein Quick-Time-Event. Das ist ein netter Versuch, aber es ist nicht so gelungen (siehe auch Steuerung).
Insgesamt also etwas durchschnittliches Gameplay. An manchen Stellen ziemlich schwer, aber manchmal auf unschöne Weise.
Interessanterweise hat das Spiel eine eingebaute Komplettlösung. Komfortabel aber ungewöhnlich. Ob es gemacht wurde, weil einige Rätsel zu abwegig seien ist nur ein Gerücht.

[b]Technik[/b]
Technisch mau. Die Grafikkarte wird im Spiel fast bis zum Anschlag in Anspruch genommen. FPS-Begrenzung kennt das Spiel nicht. So wird selbst bei einem stehenden Bild alles rausgeholt, was die GraKa leistet für ein ziemlich durchschnittliches Bild. Dass das Spiel auf der Unity-Enginge läuft sieht man ihm nicht an. Das Optionenmenü ist äußerst mager.
Die Grafik ist wie angedeutet ziemlich altbacken, sorry. Das Spiel wirkt 10 Jahre älter als es ist. Dass die vorgerenderten Cutscenes (ziemlich viele, ziemlich lang) von noch schlechterer Qualität sind wurde vielfach bemängelt.
Der Sound geht so. Schön ist, dass die Dialoge auf Deutsch sind.
Die Steuerung per Maus/Tastatur ist OK, hat aber bei dem QTE nicht funktioniert. Dort musste ich die angezeigten Buttons (die für eine Tasteneingabe standen) mit der Maus anklicken (da es nur ein QTE-Abschnitt gibt, war dies handhabbar).

Au début tout se passait bien, les saves se chargeaient en quelques secondes, puis vers la fin, le chargement durait 13 mn et les saves faisaient planter le jeu avec le message "Too many heap sections".
Je suis très frustré car je n'ai pas pu finir le jeu. J'en était au chapitre "Les diamants".
If you have a high powered GPU and are using windows 10 I would not recommend getting this game, unless you want to risk having a Fire in your PC!
Even if you set the game's Graphics perimeters to low; soon as you get into the main menu goes over 1100 FPS, 4000+ FPS if set to high. Thankfully I have customised my GPU cooling settings, having had 2 catch fire with other games.
As the game stands there is no FPS limiter in the game, and even if you use the GPU software the game overrights the FPS limiter to unlimited.
When in the options menu the FPS drops to a steady 125 FPS (Which is still to high for many cards, that have not set the cooling to maximum before the cards reach 50^C if left to default some cards like the AMD Radeon RX 6xxx XT series the cooling doesn't come on till it's too late; you will either have 1. Thermal cut out (with a painful reset), 2. A burnt out GPU, or worst case scenario 3. a Fire in your PC)
While the first game was far from perfect, it had a few terrible puzzle choices, most of them were fairly logical, this game seems to start out the same, but some points seems to be mostly guesswork, or being able to put two otherwise unrelated aspects of a level for one puzzle. Some of the puzzles I'm still not sure how you're meant to interpret.
Honestly, the ending was a fantastic idea, and seems to be the only thematic link to the first game (in a vague concept), and it kind of feels as if they had the idea, but had no way of introducing the idea.
I think it could have worked much better if they had stripped the Lost Horizon license from it, and made it it's own thing.
Ultimatly, this doesn't change how much charm was in the original.
Also, they changed Fenton's voice actor from Adam Howden to...I'm not sure, the credits don't list any of the voice actors, but it's clear he's not the same Fenton. He's trying to be more macho and manly, and it doesn't really work.

Hmm...how do I say this...it was not as amazing as previous title OBVIOUSLY, even more like a downgrade compared to it. The story is too mainstream, gameplay kinda clumsy and it's short~~ I think the REAL end should just leave it in Lost Horizon 1 honestly...
Not as good as the first one but still a very good sequel. I found it to be shorter than the first one. I finished Lost Horizon 1 in almost 18 hours. This one I finished in about 10.5 hours.
As for bugs, in Lost Horizon 1 I encountered one bug that did not allow me to proceed but I found a workaround in the Steam Forums. In this game I found that sometimes the character animations don’t work very well. The characters sometimes slide over the floor without their legs moving. Other than that I encountered no further bugs. The sceneries are nice, the story is good and the game is fun to play. I like it when an adventure game does not need you to use a walkthrough to finish the game. I finished both Lost Horizon 1 and 2 without the use of a walkthrough, so that is a plus.
If you liked Lost Horizon 1 then I recommend you play this one as well. And if you haven’t played Lost Horizon 1, well, you don’t need to have played it to understand the story of this sequel.

At first i thought this game was a huge downgrade...
Graphics isnt very good, and theres also some annoying gimmicks.
But it grew on me.. Good story, much better puzzles. I really enjoyed it. IMHO, much better than the 1st.

The first game in this series was nice, proper traditional p&c, with a good interface, so so puzzles and dated graphics. This one starts out okay, the interface is a bit wonky, but the puzzles are better, then it gives you a kick in the face - a bleeding qte of a motorcycle chase which is unskippable. If that is not a sin the pope doesn't wear a funny hat. Ragequit, but can't sadly refund since I bought it in a bundle with the first one.

Ansich sieht dieses Game aus, als hätte es viel potential gehabt und es wäre noch viel mehr geplant gewesen als ins Endprodukt geschafft hat. Die Story hat für meinen Geschmackt zu viele Lose Enden. Die Rätsel sind meist so unlogisch das ich die eingebaute Komplettlösung zurate ziehen musste weil ich keine hinweise beim Spielen entdecken konnte, oder sie sind so leicht das man sich die Rätsel sparen hätte können [spoiler]Ich sage nur das Tee Kochen beim Professor das sieht eher nach Tutorial aus[/spoiler] . Desweitern gibt es einige Szenen wo man denkt es währen mehr orte zum erkunden und dinge zu finden geplant worden oder noch mehr Aktionen durzuführen und ich dachte mir vlt ging den Entwicklern die Zeit, das Geld oder die Lust aus.
Jeder der wie ich den Ersten teil gerne gespielt hat und immer wieder spielen wird, wird dieses Game maximal einmal spielen.
Well what can I say about L.H. 2, adequate game at best.. I got it for a song on a sale and about 8 yrs. after it came out, so that worked out ;).. Pros. I would say are nice background art and decent voice-over work. The story is a bit convoluted as we jump from one scenario to the next. It's not horrible but it never really comes together and is lacking cohesion from a narrative standpoint. Puzzle aspect is somewhat hit or miss but not bad overall. The cut-scenes, oh boy, now that is unequivocally pretty awful. For a game that came out in 2015 I would have expected far greater presentation. I know Animation Arts is not a Trip A studio but this was some amateur work on display here, especially seeing Deep Silver published the game?? Anyway that's my 2 cents..

The first one was charming, and I'd even play it again.
But what the actual ♥♥♥♥ happened here? I am tragically dissapointed, and admittedly rather pissed off.
It is entirely beyond me why people are so forgiving of this game. The majority of the puzzles are the most convoluted and illogical heaps of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I can imagiene. Basically nothing is intuitive and it only gets worse and worse as the story progresses.
The story was the only good part, althought Fenton didn't feel like Fenton at all to me. I got so hyped about a viking theme, and it was the only reason I kept playing, even as it got worse. The game ended up bugging out when I only had a few minutes left, and I would have had to go back several chapters to load my last save and replay, if I wanted to finish. I absolutely refuse to replay this game.
The story is fine, (just fine, mainly the viking-theme was cool, the rest was either typical/predictable or way too arbitrary) but the line-script is terrible and even condescending at times, at least in english. As if they expect the player to be a child.
[Which is ironic, since the game does not have any right to assume that the player is a child, while simultaneously have puzzles that expect specific and/or adult-typical knowledge.] It felt like I was expected to find clues that they didn't even put into the game. Even the times where I looked at the walk through after trying several things, the solution still didn't make sense. Most puzzles were literally based on the idea of "try EVERYTHING until it works, because we're not going to explain why the solution make sense" and that is simply not a good puzzle game.
I do not believe that they finished this game before launch. It feels exactly like they threw in the walkthrough into the game as a fire-blanket. Not even a safety-calming-blanket, but an actual fire-let's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ get out-blanket.
Lost Horizon 2 unfortunately caused disappointment among many players due to its shortcomings in mechanics and story. Compared to its predecessor, it could not keep up. Some players feel that the puzzles and dialogues were not as well elaborated as in the first part. The controls and graphics were also criticised.
The story of Lost Horizon 2 could not offer the same depth and suspense as the story of its predecessor. There was often a lack of coherence and the characters remained pale and poorly developed. Many also criticised the ending of the game, which was not satisfactory.
Overall, there were many weaknesses in Lost Horizon 2 that diminished the game's enjoyment. Fans of the first part were certainly hoping for an even better sequel.o bad!
Foi a primeira vez que eu vi um jogo regredir tanto em gameplay, história e até em gráficos, em uma sequencia.
Na parte gráfica houve um certo downgrade nos personagens com relação ao 1, A Gwen é muito feia, um modelo de personagem muito mal feito. O fenton é impossivel lembrar dele do primeiro, é irreconhecivel.
Os cenários continuam no mesmo nivel de qualidade.
Com relação ao gameplay, continua fluido, porém nesse o personagem deu umas travadas ao andar que no 1 não tive em nenhuma ocasião. Além disso os puzzles são muito mais faceis. Os que trazem mais desafio é mais porque não faz nenhum sentido do que foi engenhoso.
Por ultimo e não menos importante, a história é muito sem gracinha nesse jogo. O Fenton perdeu TODO o carisma dele, os dialogos não tem mais nenhuma graça. Claramente se inspiraram no indiana jones nesse jogo, principalmente no que envolve o final, mas só lembra a história mesmo. Não chega aos pés da qualidade do filme e nem do primeiro jogo.
Como bonus não existe nenhuma referencia a primeira história, então recomendo ficar somente com o 1 e esquecer esse jogo.

Nach dem fantastischen ersten Teil von Lost Horizon hab ich mich auf eine ebenso gute Fortsetzung gefolgt.
Leider, leider, leider.
Es fängt bei einer "merkwürdigen" Steuerung an, die wahrscheinlich der Unity Engine geschuldet ist, geht weiter über leicht abstruse Rätsel (ich hab eine genaue Karte vom Wald wo ich hin muss, aber "wie soll ich denn das im Wald finden?") und endet bei katastrophalen Cutscenes. Die Grafik in den vor-gerenderten Videos ist bei weitem schlechter als im Spiel.
Alles was bei Teil 1 richtig war ist hier leider falsch gelaufen.
tl;dr: nowhere near as good as other Animation Arts games, this one has it all: uninteresting plot and characters, downgrade in artstyle, poor puzzles, inconsistent mechanics, even staggeringly bad framerate from time to time. On a positive note, there's a built-in walkthrough (which you might need for some of this nonsense) - but then it must've been written by an avid fan of minimalism.
My grievances in glorious detail:
After the solid four Secret Files games and Lost Horizon 1, this one was a crushing disappointment. The cheeky, if overly capable, chap from the first game has been turned into a gruff special agent type. The other adult was intriguing, but having a squeaky-voiced child as a companion or playable character in half of the game was annoying. The plot itself is a rather uninspired race to a MacGuffin tied to Norse mythology (plundering Greek/Roman or Norse mythology for plot points is always a sure sign of creativity).
The slightly cartoonish artstyle of the first game is gone in favour of the more grounded look (more like that of the Secret Files series). This one still produced some beautiful locations, but it somehow felt like a downgrade.
The puzzles were okay-ish, with a notable exception of the logic/mechanical puzzles. Some of the ones towards the end stand out in my mind as questionable. I'll thoroughly spoil one of them in this paragraph as an example, so skip to the next paragraph if you'd rather not know. This notable offender is a puzzle with a raven and some columns: you'll come across a raven perched on a column in a room with six columns, one of which holds an item you need too high for you to reach yourself; the game wants you to "use" the columns in a specific order to get the raven to fly from one column to another until the bird decides to perch by the item and dislodge it for you. If you use a wrong column, the raven "resets" (flies back to its original perch). As far as I could decipher, there wasn't any indication of the intended order of column touches (or I was too thick to spot it myself), so it turned into a time-wasting series of trial-and-error attempts. To put a cherry on this raven dropping, in the next room there is another item of the same kind also lodged into a wall beyond reach, and you make an improvised projectile weapon to dislodge it. You also have a spare projectile for it, but no, you can't use it to spare yourself the raven-wrangling.
The game had a few instances of time limits, but they seemed to be implemented inconsistently - sometimes overly generous, other times barely enough to act even if you knew exactly what is required of you. They also seem to disappear from the game completely after a while.
To complete the bingo card of disappointment, even the performance was worse than the graphics would suggest, and at one point I could swear the framerate must've dropped to well below 10fps (judging by the cursor's lagging movements): it was while the player's [sc]rubbing something (I'm being vague to minimize spoilers - not that it stopped me in the paragraph about puzzles).
On a positive note, the game comes with a built-in walkthrough, which I had a couple good looks at towards the end; the nonsense piles up as the end draws near and I was eager to be done with a game I wasn't really enjoying. The walkthrough is less than ideal, however, since it doesn't describe much or provide too many screenshots, mostly limiting itself to telling you what to click and nothing else (i.e. it might say "click x" instead of, say, "search x to find y and z").
I don't understand what AA was trying to do with this game. The product is so poorly made it looks like an unfinished one. They just threw away everything that was good in the first episode (a nice plot with Indy vibes, a charismatic and funny character, a movies-inspired art direction) without a reason. Graphics and cut scenes are horrid. Puzzles are too easy or not logical. Everything looks badly designed, they couldn't even repeat the brilliant starting menu from the first game. Skip this, play Lost Horizon instead.

Graphismes un peu vieillots mais ça passe, des ellipses autant dans l'histoire (écoutez bien les longs dialogues) que dans les déplacements (à un moment on se retrouve dans un nouveau lieu sans trop savoir comment on a fait le chemin), des passages un peu difficiles voire même WTF (vive la soluce intégrée même si elle est succincte), et une fin bâclée.
Mais aussi, des personnages attachants, des rebondissements, du suspense, et globalement du plaisir à jouer.
Even though I had good memories of the first part, this second game is pretty bad. I bought it blindly, hoping it would be as good.
The story is bad, with a nonsensical development and ending. The puzzles range from very easy to extremely difficult without hints on how to resolve them (thankfully, they included an ingame walkthrough guide).
I wanted to like it but in the end I was running through the levels to see if it got any interesting, but sadly no.
I totally don't recommend it.

Für mich leider keine Würdige Fortsetzung!
1. Story: Manche Teile sind so arg an den Haaren herbeigezogen, dass ich mich Frage was sich der Schreiber dabei gedacht hat! Warum rettet Anna den gerade gefangenen Fenton, woher wusste sie überhaupt wo er war? Die ganze Situation mit seiner Tochter ist rückblickend völlig absurd, wenn man ans Ende gelangt. Es macht einfach überhaupt keinen Sinn! Das Ende selbst ist viel zu schnell zu Ende, Erklärungen wollte man sich wohl auch sparen.
Und kleiner Spoiler: Seine Frau? Wird erwähnt, aber man scheint sich einen 3ten Teil wohl offen zu halten, den sie taucht weder auf noch spielt sie eine Rolle. Ihr Verschwinden steht bis zum Schluss einfach im Raum!
2. Animationen: Die Figuren bewegen sich ohne Animation, verschiedene Animationen passen nicht zur Handlung die durchgeführt wird sondern existieren einzig damit sich dich Figur überhaupt bewegt, bei der Länge hätte man ruhig mehr machen können!
3. Gameplay: Die Zeitelemente sind noch okay, wobei sie eigentlich unnötig sind. Im Museum hat man 2 Minuten... warum? man braucht keine 30 Sekunden um alles gesehen zu haben! Es gibt nämlich kaum Hotspots! Das meiste was sich anklicken lässt, ist wichtig! Ambiente gibt es nur in geringem Umfang.
Quick-Time-Event... einfach nur unnötig! Ebenso wie die "Schleichpassagen" die ein Witz und unpassend sind!
4. Länge: 5 Stunden habe ich ohne Lösungshilfe benötigt, wenn man die Unfreiwillige Hilfe außer Acht lässt, wenn man auf die rechte Maustaste drückt... die meisten Adventure nutzen diese Taste zum beobachten, hier gibt es eine solche Extrafunktion nicht mehr! Der Vorgänger war mehr als doppelt so lange! Ich habe soweit ich mich erinnere knappe 13 Stunden für Teil 1 benötigt! Länger ist zwar nicht immer besser, aber hier zumindest ein Rückschritt!
Fazit: Anhand dieser Punkte kann ich nur den Daumen nach unten geben! Einen Nachfolger wird es wohl auch nicht geben, aber bei dem Endprodukt hier auch nicht notwendig!
EDIT: Der Preis ist für mich auch zu hoch, die einfache Rechnung von Spielzeit ist nicht immer gut, aber bei ~ 3 € pro Stunde... ich habe bereits Adventure mit hochkarätigen Sprechern gespielt, die für 30€ ebenso viele Stunden guten!!! Inhalt geboten haben! The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 z.B.

Ein tolles Spiel, tolle Schauplätze und abwechslungsreiche Rätsel. Die Story ist auch spannend gestaltet. Ich mag die Lost Horizon Spiele wirklich sehr gerne.
Not so good as the first Lost Horizon, but enjoyable to play. It took me about 4 hours on windows 11.
K dvojce jsem se dostal díky nadprůměrné jedničce a musím přiznat, že mě to ze začátku dost zklamalo. Trochu lepší grafiku oproti předchůdci střídaly bugy a podivné nedodělané animace. Časté videa ve hrách vítám, ale zde až nesmyslně často převzali vaše ovládání, dořešili rozřešený úkol a najednou vás poslali na druhou stranu zeměkoule. Celkově mi toto skákání moc nedávalo smysl. Kombinování předmětů bylo hodně zvláštní a chvílemi nešlo zkombinovat nic jiného než jediné 2 ze 3 předmětů, které jste měli u sebe a nebylo možné jít do vícero různých lokací a když už ano, tak jste tam našli jediný předmět - dle mého totálně zbytečná tvorba lokací, kde jste strávili pár minut. Takže postup nebyl až na nějaké výjimky nikterak složitý a přítomný návod sice ulehčil hledání na netu, ale pravda, že opravdu sváděl k nahlédnutí. Přesto jsem se pokoušel poctivě hrát, co to jde a koukl jsem tam snad jen dvakrát. Spravilo si to až na samém konci, kde výše uvedené jakoby neplatilo, museli jste hledat v různých lokacích a nacházeli předměty, které vlastně nebylo nutné použít a tak to značně ztěžovalo postup. No a závěrečná animace byla opravdu kouzelná, takže nezahodím to úplně.

Ich kann dieses Spiel nicht weiterempfehlen. Der erste Teil war noch ok denke ich, sonst hätte ich mir nicht den 2. Teil gekauft. Die Rätsel sind entweder zu einfach oder zu schwer, dass man dann um erlöst zu werden auf die Lösung schaut. Die Lösungen sind sogar im Spiel nachzulesen. Mich haben die Rätsel dann nur noch genervt und ich habe im vorletzten Kapitel endgültig aufgegeben, hatte keine Motivation mehr weiterzumachen. Wer das Spiel trotzdem ausprobieren will, sollte auf einen Sale warten, dann ist eventuell die Enttäuschung nicht so groß.
Die Hintergrundbilder sind das schönste am Spiel. Die Animationen und Videosequenzen sind sehr schlecht, Oft fehlt eine Musikuntermalung und die Atmosphäre. Die Minispiele sind furchtbar nervig. Mir fehlte sehr oft die Motivation dieses langweilige Spiel zu Ende zu spielen und ich habe schon sehr viele Adventures gespielt
Not as good as the first the one, as the hero is older and he is less quick with the jokes. However the story does get good quite interesting once it gets past the slow and somewhat confusing start, the puzzles are decent and mostly the answers arn't thrown in your face like some, unfortunately one of the puzzles towards the end is like heres the answer, go put it in, which I forgive it for. Since theres a nice section at the end that is a really cool way to finish.
Si le 1er Lost Horizon était un très bon point n' click classique adapté d'un roman de 1933 & avec les inspirations d'Indiana Jones, 5 ans après ils nous sortent une suite encore plus bâclée que le Secret Files 3 avec un scénario en carton & rabouté de partout.
Au premier abord, les décors sont vraiment sublimes mais intègrent des éléments étranges pour le style avec une séquence de QTE sans intérêt qu'on ne reverra plus par la suite, des passages en vue subjective fixe juste pour ouvrir une porte ou tourner une clé...avec des interactions clairement pensées pour le mobile/Ipad... sans compté sur le rendu des personnages juste hideux par moments dans les cinématiques.
On remarque assez rapidement un manque flagrant de développement de l'intrigue avec des coupes drastiques à tous les chapitres du jeu avec des facilitées grossières accordée au scénario avec des dialogues réduits au strict minimum.
Exemple, on se retrouve par magie d'une tombe touristique gardée à un labo secret sans aucune transitions après s'être caché dans un coin aussi gros qu'une boite à chaussures & on en repart encore plus nombreux sans savoir comment...
Tout comme la fin du chapitre 1 (& tout le reste du jeu qui en découle) qui est littéralement « on en discute plus tard, on n'a pas le temps.. » !!
Si les premiers chapitres ne s'en sortent encore pas trop mal malgré des énigmes simplistes par moment, un peu forcées, déformées pour coller au scénario & certains objets ramassés qui ne servent strictement jamais..., ça devient encore pire sur les suivants.
Plus on avance dans le jeu, plus ce qui aurait pu se passer en jeu avec des énigmes sont racontées vite fait dans une cinématique voir passé sous silence.
On a la furieuse impression qu'on se fout de nous & ce ne sera pas la fin qui relèvera le niveau...
Un énorme gâchis malgré de beaux décors & de bonne idées (dont l'alternance de personnage pour résoudre des énigmes, pas nouveau mais toujours sympa quand c'est bien fait, ici c'est très bancal)
puh.. mit dem ersten Teil auf jeden Fall nicht zu vergleichen. es wurde vieles neues Ausprobiert wie quicktime events und oder auf Zeit etc. die ich Persönlich nicht so toll fande, einige sachen waren mir auch sehr unschlüssig wie, warum, weshalb zb warum auf einmal meine Tochter im Bunker ist und wo meine Frau abgeblieben ist. einige Rätzel waren mir auch nicht so schlüssig wo ich nicht wirklich darauf gekommen bin warum das jetzt funktioniert hat was ich gemacht habe. habe es komplett ohne Lösung gespielt was mir öfters mal ziemlich kopf zerbrechen bereitet hat. aber wir sind durch. man muss es nicht unbedingt spielen aber kann man. im Großen und ganzen hatten wir unseren Spaß dabei
想了还是给好评 其实游戏前2章还是很有诚意的 游戏操作和制作组之前作品有很大变化 看的出也是想有所突破的 后面4章缩水感觉应该是制作组估计资金出问题了勉强完结的 好像这也是这个制作组最后一作了 最后整段能看出夺宝奇兵3的影子也很有意思
Несмотря на низкие оценки в Steam (на момент написания обзора, 50% положительных обзоров) я всё-таки решил приобрести «Lost Horizon 2», т.к. было любопытно узнать продолжение первой части, которая [url=https://steamcommunity.com/id/daniel_malyshev/recommended/40350/]мне достаточно понравилась[/url]. И что же можно сказать о продолжении?
Единственное, что тут удалось на 100%, - это дизайн локаций: он также всё ещё на высоте! Сюжет… в общем-то, он хорош и достаточно интересен, но к нему есть вопросы, которые опишу ниже.
И вроде думается, раз сюжет тут неплохой, то почему тогда оценка отрицательная? Увы, но нижеперечисленные пункты перечёркивают хороший сюжет:

[*][b]Техническая сторона.[/b] Это жесть просто! Трудно представить, но «Lost Horizon 2», вышедшая в 2015 году, выглядит [u]намного хуже[/u] «Lost Horizon» 2010 года: ухудшенная графика, дубовая анимации персонажей (в особенности, лицевая).
Вдобавок, до сих пор есть баги (мне запомнились два, но они очень похожи): в доме Кесслера если промыть тряпкой картину, то нужный знак не высвечивается, а форма курсора так и останется в виде руки (т.е. взаимодействия); в бункере опять же при промывки панели почему-то панель полностью не отмывается, а курсор так и остаётся в форме руки, и при этом им вообще ничего больше нельзя отмыть… Вот честно, как такое могли допустить разработчики?
И ещё такой момент. Если в первой части в роликах показывались какие-то зрелищные моменты (помимо переходов из одной большой локации в другую), то здесь в ролики запихнули всё, что можно, например, в том же бункере вместо обычной анимации перевозки тачки тут показывается мини-ролик… Зачем?
[*][b]Геймплей.[/b] Видно, что поначалу разработчики пытались как-то разнообразить игру: добавили новые механики в виде QTE и заданий на время, но проблема в том, что данные моменты [b]только[/b] в начале игры, впоследствии они нигде не используются. Почему о них так быстро забили – не понятно.
Что тут с квестовой составляющей? Да всё ужасно, если честно. Во-первых, уж очень много ненужных в инвентаре вещей, которые набираешь в течение прохождения, а они по итогу нигде не используются, и это иногда сильно мешает в решении загадок. Во-вторых, если поначалу загадки ещё можно логически решить, то где-то с середины всё решается «методом тыка» (в особенности, последняя глава [spoiler]со своими воронами и алмазами[/spoiler]). Причём в первой части таких проблем вообще не было!
[*][b]Персонажи.[/b] Если в первой части были интересны и харизматичны Фэнтон и Ким, то тут… никто. Даже тот же Фэнтон превратился в блеклую копию самого себя из первой части: характера нет, его разговоры унылы; в общем, превратился в неинтересного персонажа. Я отчасти могу понять замысел разработчиков (превратить молодого юмористического персонажа из оригинала в серьёзного семьянина из сиквела), но не получилось.

[i]Что в итоге?[/i] «Lost Horizon 2» на фоне оригинала уж очень сильно разочаровывает: достаточно крепкий сюжет (который, к слову, короче оригинала: лично я первую часть прошёл за 11 ч, а сиквел – за 6 ч) перекрывают ужасная по сравнению с прошлой частью техническая сторона и квестовая составляющая, которая в какой-то момент превращается в решение загадок только «методом тыка». Не рекомендую к прохождению!
For me recommending the game, it is between yes and no. If one want's a game that's like the first one, this will be not it. The game takes a more serious and dark approach and somehow feels disconnected to spirit of the original. It does not have that charm or humor the first one had.
Be warned that it contains a lots of bugs, on one instance I fell through the floor and remained in limbo. Many times the walking does not work properly(you get stuck or the character teleports) and even some puzzles don't work. To be honest, the graphics look quite ugly, some people will enjoy this period of 3D graphics, but not me.
The game has a huge amount of diverse puzzles though and this was really enjoyable for me. I see they tried a lot of new things for this game and this goes for the puzzles as well. Some were rather innovative, unusual and many were fun to complete.
I didn't think that the plot or story was nearly as captivating as in the first game, but in the end I was really satisfied; for me it had a lot of deeper meaning than many of the games I have played recently. I don't know if this was something they were going for intentionally, but I am more than happy with my own conclusion.
This is definitely not for every adventurer or pnc player, many may feel really disappointed with certain decisions they took for the game, but I think that if you were fan of the first game, you may desire to know how Fenton's story is continued.
I can use the knife to pierce, scratch, slit, chop, saw... and write reviews apparently.
If you liked Lost Horizon 1, this game serves as a 'little more' on top of that. You'll know what to expect in terms of short scenes, abrupt chapter endings, cheesy dialogue, interesting (sometimes convoluted) puzzles and nice locations. However it's not as good as Lost Horizon 1, it feels like a shell of what it could have been. The story, characters and humor just don't feel 'there' but it's tolerable and moves forward enough to keep you interested.
The negative reviews are understandable, get this on a good discount. I got it on a good discount and was satisfied with it.

Il gioco non è così brutto come dicono le altre recensioni, è vero che è un passo indietro rispetto al primo capitolo a livello di storia, enigmi e durata (dici poco :D), ma resta comunque un'avventura di discreto livello che gli appassionati non disprezzeranno.
effectivement rien à voir entre les 2 Lost Horizons. J'ai adoré le premier très Indiana Jones avec de l'humour et des énigmes sympathiques. Le deuxième est plus court, moins amusant et moins bien réalisé.
The game has crashed and I can't finish it. There is another player in the Discussions who has had the same problem. Neither Steam nor the company that created the game has responded to fix the problem.
I want to like this game but it's so frustrating. I've only be playing for a few minutes and I'm stuck. I know what to do, out of desperation I even watched a walkthru video to make sure. There's this plank you have to walk across and the character won't do it. Just runs in place and refuses to walk across it. Meaning I am stuck on a pillar. I climbed up and down and loaded the game in different resolutions and looks like I'm doomed. Shame, I was enjoying the game to this point.

Весьма необычный сюжет, много красивых локаций и мудрёных головоломок, весь необходимый набор- для ценителей данного жанра, русификатор найти не составило проблем, а посему- однозначно РЕКОМЕНДУЮ к прохождению!)
Like all Animation Arts games, it looks great, and the overal story is ok, so if you liked all their previous games, you'll probably like this one too.
I did fine up till the last chapter, there were some 'puzzles' that I had to need to use a walkthrough, one with what to do with the pole, then there was the raven 'puzzle' and lastly, the stone movement puzzle. And that made it annoying, especially the raven and stone 'puzzles'.
Also one other 'quicktime' event part was annoying that the 'manual' was only shown AFTER you fail the first time, they should have done it beforehand so I knew what to actually do.
All in all, I liked the story. But it could have been worked out a bit better.
These days you can get Lost Horizon 2 for a few bucks or part of a larger (still cheap) bundle. It's on sale a lot of times here on Steam or on GOG.

- voice acting hit and miss. especially Fenton Paddock's voice acting quite wooden

- there is no linearity in the plot and it progress haphazardly. this makes the story uninteresting and boring most of part.
- there is no information about Fenton's wife. she was second protagonist in first game but she has been omitted from this game and there is no explanation about it.
- blurry and low quality cut scenes
- black screens between cutscenes and chapters
- script way weaker than first game
- there are no Steam achievements
- game little bit buggy and glitchy but it's not game breaking
- there is no auto save
- It's shorter than the first game. The final chapters are similarly brief, giving the impression of hurried creation.
Overall, LH 2 definitely not as good as first game in many aspects and somewhat flawed but yet i enjoyed from this game and recommend it to adventure gamers.
Ich bin vom zweiten Teil leider enttäuscht. Alleine, dass ich dieses Spiel (im Online Stream) nach gut 8 Std. durch hatte, während ich für den ersten Teil ca. das Doppelte an Zeit gebraucht habe, spricht schon Bände. Die Belegung der rechten Maustaste und Ingame Komplettlösung ist komplett unnötig und verleitet tatsächlich dazu, diese mal schnell zu nutzen. Auch die paar "auf Zeit" Aktionen hätte man sich sparen können.
Generell ist es kein schlechtes Spiel, grafisch schön gemacht, die (oftmals sehr langen!) Dialoge sind gut eingesprochen (u.a. mit der Stimme von Keanu Reeves) und manche Rätsel haben es auch in sich. Andere hingegen nerven allerdings nur (Moskau). Immerhin nervt es nicht mit ständigen "Das geht nicht", "Das passt nicht zusammen", "Das kann ich nicht machen" Aussagen.
Unterm Strich kommt es inhaltlich, auch von der Story her, an die Qualität des ersten Teils leider nicht ansatzweise heran. Schade, da hatte ich mir mehr versprochen.
Lost Horizon 2 está al límite de lo recomendable. La conexión con la primera parte es muy liviana y solamente porque nos dicen que el personaje es el mismo, porque no se parece en nada al de la entrega anterior. La historia se siente muy forzada y nuevamente pide "prestado" ideas de otras franquicias. También se dan situaciones totalmente absurdas como que uno de los personajes resuelve de manera bastante compleja la forma de entrar a un lugar solamente para encontrarse a otro personaje ya adentro. El juego es el más nuevo de este estilo que hizo Animation Arts y sin embargo es el que peor se ve de todos.
A los desarrolladores también se les ocurrió poner una secuencia de "acción" (que es tan ridícula que me causó gracia, la fallé y tuve que repetirla) y secuencias con límite de tiempo.
Los puzzles solamente son lo único relativamente aceptables, si nos olvidamos lo descabellado de la mayoría de las situaciones.
La verdad que no se que habrá sucedido con Animation Arts cuando hicieron este juego pero por algo abandonaron el género no mucho después.
Comprar solo en super oferta.

The first game was great, real fun, had heart and humor. But this one is just a major disappointment. That unnecessary unskippable motorcycle chase mini game with those crappy, sluggish controls, omg. Gave up after trying 5 times, it was ridiculously annoying.
This game has nothing in common with its predecessor except that Paddock is involved. The charm of LH1 could not be captured. The new 3D backgrounds are not atmospheric and the character models are hideous. Paddock's daughter is half-Chinese but in the game the kid looks Eurpoean lol. In LH1 you had to laugh sometimes, not out loud but smirking. The humor was completely missing in the game, unfortunately.
The puzzles are mostly jumbled number combinations and spinning puzzles. Every now and then there are 3-part puzzles where you make a tea for example. Why this had to be in the game? I don't know.
I liked the very detailed overlays of objects on which you could operate switches and levers. For example, to send a morse code.
Unfortunately, the game has some bugs that in combination with the low density of information about the puzzles, how to proceed to at least rudimentary, led to confusion.
I can highly recommend Lost Horizon 1, but give the second part a wide berth.
Merely a shadow of the first game.
On a technical level there are a lot of poor design choices like opting for 3-D character models and animations, something which developers obviously didn't have time, budget or talent for. This is mostly apparent in cutscenes which look like they belong in a game from the late 90s. Frustratingly, they feel very shoe-horned in, triggering in places where character has to do some simple action which could've easily been animated in game. Frustratingly background scenes are mostly beautiful with obvious talent and attention to detail on display, making these transitions all the more jarring.
Other than that it's a standard point & click experience. Puzzles vary from satisfying to needlesly obtuse towards end-game, when you need to hang onto that unique thread of designer logic to figure out one solution. There's a heavy emphasis on examining and combining inventory items and an interesting system where you combine certain objects to craft a new one. It is however under-utilized and left me wishing it was a bit more complex than clicking on listed items in proper order. At certain points in the story you control two characters, but again it's very basic, with interactions limited to exchaning items through conveniently placed hole in a wall.
Story is generic and straightforward until the very end when it throws a curveball of metaphysical nonsense which quickly resloves itself in an unsatisfying ending through a cutscene whose music bears lawsuit level similarities to TES: Morrowind theme.
To summarize, it's apparent that devs took a lot of shortcuts. I don't know if it was budget or time constraints but game is very short. What good ideas there are have been over-simplified to the point of redundancy. Animatons and cutscenes are laughably outdated and just serve to take you out of the experience. If you can get it on a steep sale, it might scratch your adventure game itch, otherwise just replay the first one.
The graphics and graphic movements were not always as smooth and the challenges were not always as difficult or as well developed as the first Lost Horizon, but I still enjoyed this game. Beautiful soundtrack, interesting plot and a good ending to the series.
