Lost Eidolons is a turn-based tactical RPG set in a land of forgotten gods and feudal war. Join small-town mercenary Eden as he's thrust into an escalating revolution. Recruit allies, build a rebellion, and test your wits in challenging story-driven scenarios.

Storyline

Eden is a reputable mercenary in his hometown of Lonetta. When an aristocratic conspiracy causes his fall from grace, he is left with no choice but to follow the machinations of fate that will engross him into a ploy to overthrow the conquering Emperor, Ludivictus. A journey riddled with moral dilemma, bitter farewells, and emotional betrayal; Eden’s journey will force him to discover who he really is on this grand stage.

I really enjoyed this game. The combat was solid and reasonably challenging. I had to replay at least half the missions at least one each on the hardest difficulty+permadeath mode. Though I do feel like not playing with permadeath, or on a lower difficulty would probably trivialize it.

Contrary to a lot of other reviews, I actually quite enjoyed the story, and I felt that each character got a good amount of depth in their rapport conversations for how many of them there were.

The music is good, not something I'll be listening to outside of the game, but perfectly respectable. The character models feel a bit odd at first (especially their dead eyes) but I got used to it. I didn't have any particularly big technical issues that I can remember.

My only real complaints if I had to give some would be the lack of QoL and less-than-great UX for managing your characters. It's a game that encourages you to experiment with characters and change their classes, equipment, skills, and spells around, but doesn't have any sort of loadout saving, or even basic stuff like an "Unequip all" or "Remove all from formation" button. Stuff like that would have gone a long way towards smoothing out some rough edges in that area. But overall, highly recommend to any fan of the genre. I am very much looking forward to starting Veil of the Witch imminently.

The game doesn't respect the players time. The camp/base conversations between battles take longer than the battles themselves. The writing is not good, I don't like the main characters and any redeamable qualities and depth they might have is hidden in bloat that I had to start to skip for my own sanity because it was taking too long. The class leveling/progression is terrible, there isn't that much depth to begin with but the gap from mid game to end game classes is a big jump which means that you are static for a long time and don't feel a sense of progression. The battles themselves are ok at best, there isn't anything remarkable nor horrible. I'm playing on casual (no perma death) and I imagine that the tedium with perma death is really bad. If it was just the battles strung together without any of the base/camp stuff between I'd be at best neutral on this game but needing to slog through bad dialogue makes this a bad game. The stills of the battles makes it "look" good, it's in battle graphics are nice, but that is where the compliments end.

Anyone who likes TBS games this is a MUST PLAY graphics are amazing and it has a really interesting story. I would say the "romance" portion feels a little lackluster if that is something you like to aim for. Anyway once i started playing I could not put it down. I even called out of work to finish the story.

Let's get my gripes of this game out the way first.
After playing games with a medieval-like period setting like Final Fantasy Tactics, my immersion was dulled when the characters speak NORMAL English instead of Shakespearian, old style English.

Well, that's just a minor gripe for me.

All in all, a good game that CAN and SHOULD be better. Since I played similar turn based tactical games like Super Robot Wars and SD Gundam G Generation games in the past, I easily find myself at home with how familiar the gameplay flow is.

Well, this time, I'm dealing with humans instead of mechs.

What CAN and SHOULD be better is the cinematics of the attack animations, in my eyes, it lacked FLAIR like similar games that I mentioned earlier. Needs flying units since you can fight monsters in this game. It will add MORE tactical/terrain advantages and disadvantages.

Again, this is a GOOD turn based tactical game, that CAN be BETTER.
I'm willing to give this game a chance. That, and I also bought the sequel for this game hoping that I will see more improvements in the sequel AFTER I beat this game first.

I've started this game with enormous enthusiasm feeling great about the game. However after playing for 70+ hours I'm quite disappointed.

UI is only OK but I can live with it.

Too much sometimes boring conversations which are predetermined - you have no choice but to blindly accept what is given to you. Very linear - no options. Well, I guess, I can live with it too.

But what really spoils the fun for me is that the game is hugely unbalanced. I played on normal difficulty level, expecting it to be "normal", like as you and your opponent having approximately even chances in all battles. However in the beginning stages it is unbalanced in favor of the player, which they tried to "balance" by making it extremely unfavorable towards players in the final stages of the game. But two wrongs don't make it right!

For example, almost in all battles you are outnumbered like 3 to 1 and only the stupidity of AI makes these battles winnable (sometimes quite easily).

But most important: your enemy bosses have certain features (never available to you) like they always take only 50% of damage you deal to them. And on top of that they negate additional 40% of damage by just having any character within 6 squares of them. So imagine you have like 3 of such characters standing next to each other ( not even counting a couple dozens of other enemy fighters and healers nearby). You can only do 1 or 2 or 3 damage points to them from one your fighters, while they consistently kill at least one of your troops every turn! Moreover all the damage you do to one of these bosses is healed by some enemy healer standing behind him. How is it "normal"???

I like challenge but chances should be equal (at least on normal level). If they can do it why can't I?

После финальных титров могу сказать, что в целом, игра мне понравилась. Сюжетные бои достаточно продуманы и интересные, побочные бои могли бы сделать разнообразнее. Визуальная часть для 2022 года очень неплохая, приятная анимация. Основной сюжет конечно довольно банальный, но истории персонажей раскрывать интересно, они хорошо проработаны с точки зрения мотивации и индивидуальной судьбы. Осталось ощущение, что чего то не хватает в сюжете, какой то динамики в промежутках между боями. Ограничение на очки репутации можно сделать и повыше, чтобы в конце игры можно открыть диалоги всех спутников, а не доделывать их в игре плюс. Романтическую линию нужно перенести из конца игры в середину, чтобы было какое то развитие. Финальный саундтрек шикарный, учитывая что всю игру была довольно скучная однообразная музыка, а часто вообще тишина. С удовольствием поиграла бы во вторую часть с теми же персонажами в будущем.

No início parece até promissor, porém se torna enjoativo muito rápido. Combate é simples demais e entendiante. Possui o pior sistema de classe que eu já vi, tem até muitas classes mas cada uma tem mal 3 habilidades. A maioria da parte você está dando ataque básico. Você não consegue se apegar a nenhum personagem visto que eles são extremamente fracos e todos eles se parecem só mudam as vezes a roupa e o cabelo. Cara eu peguei baratinho mesmo assim não vale a pena pelo seu tempo, dropei! Ah e a história é horrível

I do enjoy the game... But my word it's way too much time doing camp BS between missions. This isn't Mass Effect, where the interactions on the Normandy between missions can be enjoyable and build the character. I enjoy the missions in this game and want to play more, but the camp set up is so absolutely awful.

玩了三十年火焰纹章，玩这个秒上手。明显是火纹迷做的致敬/模仿型作品，机制80%来自火纹系列，故事设定则是西幻加楚汉争霸的混搭。说实话它有很多不成熟的设计，系统粗糙，节奏也很拖沓，战棋迷可以拿来消磨时间，一般玩家就没必要碰了。

Jogo de batalha por turnos delícia de mais! A jogabilidade é muito boa e bem balanceada. Em questão de equipamentos, itens e customização dos personagens não tem muito a oferecer, então, pra compensar isso a estratégia vai ter que ser prioridade. Mas isso é só um detalhe e não diminui o jogo em nada. O ponto forte desse jogo é sua história, ela envolve o jogador muito rápido e te instiga a querer saber o desfecho de trama. Personagens e histórias são muito bem escritas. Eu peguei o jogo em uma promoção e, honestamente, eu pagaria facilmente o preço cheio de tão bom que o jogo é.
