I finished the game, but unfortunately cannot recommend. Although the story and options at the start seemed to lead you into an interesting adventure, I found the story overall very lackluster and this was not saved by the gameplay for me. Also there is romance (which I like in games), but it is cut very short.
To be clear, this is what people call a visual novel, so it's almost 100% reading, with a small amount of actual gameplay.
I was surprised at just how caught up in the character's stories I found myself. Enough so that I found myself wondering if I had done 'x' or 'y' differently, if their stories would have ended up differently.
For for most people will say is simply a Visual Novel, the character building/combat/itemization felt much more complete than other VNs.
Give it a shot, especially if it's on sale.

По эпичности это уровень первого Dragon Age.. вот не вру. Да, многие элементы кажутся несколько механическими, иногда хромает мотивация персонажей, но в целом - это просто офигенная кампания, полная переплетений взаимоотношений персонажей. Кампания, в которой одно за другим возникают препятствия, которые нашим героям предстоит преодолевать. Шансы встретить персонажа, который вам понравится довольно велики. С романтическим интересом - сложнее. Но в любом случае, это история, которую можно с большим удовольствием понемногу проходить. Апплодисменты авторам - сделать настолько хорошую игру с такими простыми художественными средствами - это талант!
一直都很喜欢西幻冒险题材，本作的故事也很王道，堪称低配版龙腾世纪，整体体验不错但是被结局里的恋爱线后日谈喂屎了。本作主角是亚马逊公主洛伦的助手，玩家可选性别。屎点在于，亚马逊人的王位继承法是血缘继承或者生死决斗继承，女王的王位要么传给女儿要么她人通过对女王发起决斗杀死现任女王继承王位，玩家如果选女性主角攻略洛伦公主，公主继位为女王，两个女人婚后无法生育，多年以后洛伦会在决斗中被杀被夺去王位，女主角孤独终老。玩家如果选男性主角，洛伦会改法律让男性也有继承权，和男主生了个小王子继承王位，也没有人去挑战她杀死她。如此双标感觉被赛博催生了，呕。女主攻略其他两个女队友的结局都是真HE，只有攻略公主线因为家里有王位要继承而BE，真令人火大。
視覺小說帶點回合制rpg要素，通關後的作弊模式要在大地圖上按C鍵才有用，按C鍵後選故事模式在進入戰鬥後隨便攻擊敵人一下就可以自動勝利

Obra prima avalassadoramente bela da Winter Wolves que já se tornou clássica e realmente dá sentindo a expressão: "gostaria de esquecer para jogar de novo" como pela primeira vez. Alguns finais exultantes, outros devastadores. Visual novel com elementos de RPG.
As Ilustrações e trilha sonora primorosas. As batalhas são desafiadoras e interessantes o bastante para que você não queira desistir, além de poderem ser jogadas no nível fácil, médio, ou difícil, e o jogo se aloja tão profundamente em seu coração que você provavelmente quererá explorar todos seus níveis de dificuldade, além de variações na história e romance.
A caracterização das personagens é impecável, e você se sente parte desta pequena família, se afeiçoando a cada personagem e suas peculiaridades, como na maior parte dos jogos da Winter Wolves, mas sinto que em Loren a caracterização da Winter Wolves atinge seu ápice. A obra é calorosa, e você se sente estimulada a explorar as diversas possibilidades de relacionamentos entre a protagonista e as demais personagens, do romântico, a amizade e ao cordial. Acho interessante o fato de alguns personagens sejam romaceáveis pela protagonista feminina ou pelo protagonista masculino, somente pela protagonista feminina, ou somente pelo protagonista masculino. Embora tenha desejado romancear Myrth com Elenor, por exemplo, creio que essa caracterização dá também profundidade as personagens e riqueza a caracterização e consequentemente possíveis desenrolares da história.
Preferiria que Loren e Karen fossem exclusivamente lésbicas, entretanto. Embora seja interessante a inversão do patrarcado pelo matriarcado, e a possibilidade de amar um homem vista como fraqueza, não podemos esquecer que a obra foi produzida em um contexto patriarcal, não tendo a inversão o mesmo valor— embora o amor sempre seja belo, ponto que a obra reforça.
Acho interessante, entretanto, que algumas personagens sejam estritamente héteros, trazendo realismo e profundidade a obra. Acho também interessante que tais personagens sejam ambas sejam elfos da floresta, que são de fato mais conservadores na trama (juntamente com os humanos) em muitas de suas crenças e valores, e inclusive apresentam feminilidade e masculinidade mais tradicionais no patriarcado (embora Myrth seja a principal Anciã, ela sempre tem que dar satifações a um conselho de anciãos que parece bem patriarcal). Uma personagem inclusive é estritamente gay, característica que enriquece sua caracterização somada ao fato de ele ser mestiço de elfo com humano (uma intersecção fundamental no contexto desta trama) e só romanceável por Saren, mas nenhuma mulher é estritamente lésbica, embora o romance de Karen seja estritamente lésbico (graças a Deus!), o que faz a obra perder ligeiramente a potência (não muito, mas seria ainda mais incrível se Loren e Karen fossem lésbicas.) Do ponto de vista da caracterização seria mais profundo e condizente se Loren e principalmente Karen fossem lésbicas (principalmente porque Karen já pode ser lida na maior parte da trama como lésbica, ou amo menos com forte preferência por mulheres). Importante dizes que faço esses apontamentos sobre a orientação sexual de ambas as personagens pela caracterização no texto e não pelo fato de ambas serem amazonas.
No centro da história, além da relação da protagonista com Loren, temos a relação entre Loren e sua mãe, Karen, a rainha das Amazonas. A princípio a busca de Loren por sua mãe é o motor inicial da história e da relação de Loren com a protagonista, após o resgate de Karen— pequeno spoiler difícil de evitar, e que acontece no primeiro capítulo do jogo— a ressiginificação da relação entre ambas e consigo mesmas é fundamental para o avanço da história, possíveis romances e necessário afastamento de ambas dos preceitos das Grandes Mães Amazonas.
História épica profunda que trata de temas como o bem, o mal, a verdade, a mentira, os sistemas de crenças pessoais que carregamos de nossa ancestralidade (ou não carregamos na dispersão de valores própria da modernidade), e como ressiginificá-los frente as possibilidades da vida. Um jogo que nos leva a gameficar a vida no bom sentindo, de reexplorá-la e amá-la de perto, buscando novas possibilidades e significados. Ou será dar sopro de vida a gameplay? Em todo caso um jogo profundo que merece figurar entre as grandes obras de arte da ficção moderna! Esse jogo me fez mais sábia.
Amo esse jogo! Amo Loren e também Karen.
Embora Loren possa ser romanceada por Saren todas as amazonas são bem lésbicas e eu adoro. Loren, embora romanceie Saren, possibilidade que não pretendo jogar, fala com todas as letras sua preferência por mulheres, embora esta preferência pareça se dever em parte ao seu contexto cultural, e como já disse, preferiria que fosse puramente a orientação sexual da mesma. Em todo caso, sem sombra de dúvida, nenhuma das personagens romanceáveis, com exceção de Myrth e Rei, são hétero.
As rotas de Loren e Karen também são as mais integradas com a obra o que lhes dá maior potência. A protagonista (ao menos Elenor) ama Loren e Karen independentemente de escolher romancear ou não outras personagens, apesar de todas as personagens terem romances bem integrados com a trama e potentes!

本游戏没有过激的成人画面，开启成人模式也仅是让角色立绘更加暴露，浪漫场景的阐述也仅是静态CG。为涩涩而来的朋友要大失所望了。

毕竟是2014年使用Ren'Py开发的老游戏，汉化补丁会导致Steam成就无法解锁，但不影响游戏内的成就解锁。
如果你和我一样是全成就玩家，则可以先通览成就列表，将与成就相关的Boss战于战前或战中存档，并在每次触发游戏内成就时回档进行备份。再卸载游戏及汉化补丁后，以原版游戏状态读档触发Steam成就解锁。（是的我们全成就玩家就是这么经得起折腾）
全成就至少需要3周目，好在1周目通关游戏后会解锁游戏内作弊器，按C键可开启作弊菜单，使战斗在触发第一次攻击后直接胜利，或+10000游戏货币。（请注意：开启全胜战斗作弊的同时，人物的升级加点与技能选择亦会被跳过，属性构建这儿就直接废了）
我个人设想中最理想的全成就路线是——
一周目：男主 解锁困难模式下Boss成就 解锁男主专属浪漫成就 触发50次友好对话选项成就 解锁各类杂项的剧情成就
二周目：女主 解锁专属女主浪漫成就 触发50次诙谐对话选项成就

A mix between Fantasy-RPG and Visual Novel-Dating Sim. The battle system is nice and the Dating is simple enough so that I was able to collect all the available lovers without having to look for a walkthrough first. Also the first Dating Sim where I did not end up Single in the first play-through. I like ^^
I recently started playing the game, but I quickly realized it's not really for me. The premise begins with us as a slave to an Amazonian warrior, who has a massive ego. That part is actually fine—I can understand why she's that way, given her lack of experience with the outside world. However, what I can’t wrap my head around is why the game dictates how our character feels and seems to enjoy being in this slave role.
After a while, our character and the Amazonian start traveling alone, and it’s baffling that there’s no realistic way to challenge the situation. It wouldn’t be that difficult to escape from her, and if our protagonist were truly afraid, they could even take drastic measures, like killing her in her sleep or poisoning her. But instead, the game forces us into this oddly submissive position, where we seem to admire her despite everything.
The dialogue options are incredibly frustrating as well. Rather than clearly showing what our character will say, we only get vague descriptions of the tone—options like "joking," "forceful," or "friendly," with the occasional romance option thrown in. Even when choosing the “forceful” tone, we still end up sounding like a submissive, and our inner thoughts continue to glorify Loren. It’s ridiculous.
Why are we forced to lose our freedom and serve her, while somehow being content with it? How much of a pushover is this main character supposed to be? It’s only natural to desire freedom and to want the ability to make our own choices. But it feels like those decisions have already been made for us in this game, leaving little room for actual role-playing.
Eh... The romance stuff didn't do anything for me. The art style is pretty good. The RPG elements are satisfying, and the writing is... ok.
I don't know.. It's a hard one to recommend. There's a ton of skill put into the game, a lot of moments that are very good, but those are mostly hidden away from moments that are more lackluster in nature. Still, I think it does more good than bad - so it's worth it.
Unfriendly UI, forgettable characters, generic story, unconvincing world-building, lacks immersion
In the main game(not the DLC), there are choices you can pick that result in different fights, but they do not affect the story. It would be better it's just one story with all the paths merged. The narrator also gives false foreshadowing.
There are very few artworks, the creators tried to add immersion by giving minor changes to facial expression, but since there is no voice acting and the text dialogue is at the bottom while the faces are at the top, players' eyes will not be on the faces.
The theme is also forced, in game other characters view each other as 'evil' due to their social norm and background, and the main character acts as an outsider and unifies them and let them see each other as 'good'. But since the main character is a loyal slave that helps the Amazon crushes down slave rebellions, his standard for 'good' and 'evil' is questionable and as a result his argument just feels weak.
I saw some reviews saying this is similar to Dragon Age Origins, so I decided to try it out. This is as similar to DA:O as a 5 year old's scribbles would be similar to an engineering thesis. Nothing more than fantasy junk food. You will enjoy it while it lasts, but later question whether you really needed to have it. The answer will most likely be 'not really'. Still giving it a thumbs up because its not a bad game per se. Just meh.
This game was so fun, usually I'm not one for skipping through games after I've finished them for more/extra content regarding relationships but I absolutely loved doing it with this one. Definitely recommend!!

Karakterlerinin hepsinin kendine has güzel yetenekleri var - fireball atan büyücü var mesela, ama ona farklı yetenekler verip başka bir elementi kullanmasını sağlamak da mümkün. Favorim, kızıl saçlı druid hanımefendinin yeteneklerinden biri olan arı sokması :D Birçok düşmana karşı kullanmaktan zevk aldığım bir özellik oldu. Onun dışında, en rahat şekilde ilerleyebilmek için mümkün olduğunca değişik şeyler kullanmak lazım, diye yorumladım. Fireball kullanan genç büyücü dışında bir tane de yaşlı büyücü ile karşılaşıyoruz ileride, onda mesela su yeteneğine odaklanarak ilerledim. Böylece fire resist olan düşmanları biriyle, water resist olanları da diğeriyle hallettim falan filan, bu tarz stratejiler oluşturmak güzeldi.
Başarımları toplamak istiyorsanız, seçenek veren yerlerde save alıp rehber takip etmek hayat kurtarıcı olur. Çünkü, her biri gayet uzun süren 4 adet chapter oynuyoruz. Ve savaş sahneleri ile normal diyalogların haricinde, sadece kamp esnasında konuşarak ilerletebildiğimiz romance durumları ve her npc'nin 1 adet personal quest'i var (bunlar da süreyi uzatıyor haliyle). Gerçi oyunu bir defa bitirince cheat modu açılıyor (savaşları tek tıkta geçip hikaye odaklı oynama) ve diyalogları atlamak da mümkün, ama yine de çok diyalog olduğundan uzun zaman alıyor.

It is a fun game, but it has it's issues.
My main problems with the game:
- playing as a slave. Yes, I know it serves as a character progression point for Loren, but it's still weird. Especially how loyal MC is. Slave from the birth/childhood, no freedom in anything, treated worse than an animal - still unquestionably loyal to the their slavers. And it's not like Loren treats them kindly in the beginning, yet MC is ready to die for her already.
- everyone is bigoted against everyone. [spoiler]Apolimesho and Amukiki hate all elves, Myrth and Rei hate humans and dark elves, Rei hates Mesphit specifically, Mesphit hates forest elves and humans, Loren is hates slaves and men, Apolimesho hates Chambara for dark magic and Draco for being half-elf (really, Apolimesho is just the worst).[/spoiler] It is sadly unrealistic how fast all this bigotry is resolved.
- replaying for achievements/romances. It is very, very tedious - even in the story mode.
Plot itself is very basic, nothing groundbreaking. Music is pretty good actually - I love dark elves theme and romance themes. If you can expect anything from the Winter Wolves games, it is graphics - they are good.
But where this game shines is the romances. I can see chemistry between characters, I love the romance progression, it can be cute, it can be hot, and all romances are different from each other. Amukiki route is one of the best rivals-to-lovers I've seen in a while; Myrth is boring straight romance you would expect (still kinda cute though); Karen's route is a perfect depiction of having an huge crush on someone; Chambara is your domineering gothic gf; Draco is super cute hide-behind-a-joke-crushing-hard-on-you kind of deal; Mesphit is an edgy boy with edgy romance; Loren feels like she supposed to be canon for both MCs, but I think she was a bit meh (again, slavery makes it weird) - epilogue with Eleanor was really bittersweet though; and Rei feels like second canon for Eleanor - it was adorable. And how every LI reacts to [spoiler]MC sacrifice[/spoiler] is perfectly angsty.
Overall, I had a good time. I would probably even replay romances again at some point. So, I recommend you wait for a sale (normal price is too high as usual) and then give it a go.
Ren'Py you utter piece of trash... Ruining my Ending Achievements on what was otherwise a pretty decent game... and I do mean [b]Decent.[/b] However, since the Built-In Cheat Mode only skips story battles and gives potentially infinite gold, and doesn't, say... [i]level your characters so you can actually experiment in second and thirds playthroughs,[/i] I wouldn't really say it's worth it to play again. For a fun 9-ish hour distraction it wasn't too bad... but there's better out there.
Also, whoever wrote the code for the battle music had no idea what they were doing. Everything transitions into "Intense Combat" so quickly you can get psychological whiplash and just freeze for a second. 'Stand and Fight' 'Peril in Hammerhands' and even 'Enter the Fray' sound entirely different comparatively, and might mix well into each other... but not into "Intense Combat" and certainly not at the point when "Intense Combat" usually starts. The rest of the soundtrack is fine but I [b]HAVE[/b] to point out how incredibly jarring it was whenever that happened, because it will happen... [b]A LOT.[/b]

This game is basically a turn-based RPG and a visual novel combined. It has sweet characters that have more depth than a puddle and are all likable. The story is classic fantasy stuff and fairly predictable but it's world is charming. The Amazons are a unique culture of people and explores sexism. (Against men) You can choose the protagonist you play as, (male human or female elf) and there are tons of characters to smooch. (And yes you don't have to be straight) The music is great. The visuals have a sort of retro feel but it's not bad to look at. You can choose whether your protagonist is forceful, kind, or a jokester. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed this. The combat is easy and simple but there is a hard difficulty, though personally I don't play games for the challenge aspect. Overall I'd recommend Loren The Amazon Princess greatly.
This is quite a fun visual novel, it has a lot of interesting characters and is a reasonable RPG for a small team developer.. The romance paths are all interesting and you can probably do a few playthroughs to try the different romance options.
The RPG battle elements are good for a visual novel, lots of different character combinations and skills to experiment with. I went through on hardest difficulty and found it about right.

Really boring game with subpar graphics, music and battle mechanics.
My rating 2,5/10, not recommended.
Having played Cursed lands before this made me appreciate seeing past characters in this like the Wizard.
For context i played as Elenor. I really disliked Loren at first and how her culture treated men but seeing her evolve throughout the game and how my choices affected what she did at the end made me like her as and how she grew as a better character. she was sheltered from childhood and only fed what her culture taught her so.
i really love Amukiki<3 he was called and tough on outside but sweet. i was also protective of Mesphit till the end lol. most regrettably how can that handsome shy dwarf and the cute "serious" monk not be romancable? seriously...
The DLC.. really made me question the choices we had to make and motives behind the characters and i didn't want to kill either side because to me they seemed good so i just sadly left them be. except for that old witch.

Começamos o jogo com a heroína Loren, princesa das Amazonas, procurando por sua mãe Karen, Rainha das Amazonas, que está desaparecida a algum tempo, pelas leis das Amazonas elas são proibidas de deixar a cidadela e por esse motivo as Amazonas não vão a procura da Rainha restando para Loren procurar por sua mãe. Para não ir sozinha ela leva um escravo, o protagonista do jogo, para ajudá-la em sua busca. Durante a jornada Loren encontra alguns indivíduos de outras raças que acabam se tornando companheiros de Loren. Loren também se depara com uma guerra entre humanos e Elfos, mas logo descobre que existe um inimigo muito maior ambos se unem em uma aliança sob o comando de Loren contra um inimigo bem pior.
Em Loren The Amazon Princess não controlamos a heroína, mas sim o seu escravo que podemos escolher entre 2 personagens, o jogo tem diversos personagens diferentes que podemos usar nas batalhas e tem diversos interesses românticos dependendo de quem escolhemos, Saren - Um humano ou Elenor - Uma elfa. Saren pode ter um romance com 6 personagens diferentes sendo 3 homens, Draco - que meio elfo e meio humano, Amukiki - um humano nórdico, Mesphit - um elfo negro, e 3 mulheres, Loren - a heroína, Chambara - uma bruxa, Myrth, uma druida. Elenor também pode ter um romance com 6 personagens sendo 3 homens, Amukiki, Mesphit, Rei - Elfo irmão de Myrth, e 3 mulheres, Loren, Chambara e Karen - a Rainha Amazona. As interações são bem diferentes da Elenor e do Saren com seus interesses românticos mesmo que o personagem seja o mesmo, Elenor e Amukiki tem uma interação completamente diferente de Saren e Amukiki.
A história principal é linear, não tem mais de um final. A única coisa que muda são os romances, já que só podemos ter 1 romance ou nenhum, e os personagens do DLC que temos a opção de recrutá-los e portanto eles não participam da história.

Além de ser um romance visual o jogo conta com sistema de combate por turnos que são utilizados durante as batalhas pelo jogo, nele podemos escolher até 6 personagens para participar das batalhas e dentre eles temos uma certa variedade, normalmente nas batalhas sempre temos a Loren que é a heroína e o protagonista, Elenor ou Saren que podemos escolher no início do jogo a classe entre guerreiro e ladrão, mas além deles temos os companheiros que encontramos pelo caminho que variam de classes com Magos, Ladrões, guerreiros, monges, arqueiros e até mesmo um Cerberus. Também temos elementos de RPG como inventários, pontos de habilidades, podemos comprar e vender itens, equipar itens com certas afinidades que podem ser usados para combater inimigos com afinidades diferentes, etc.

Loren The Amazon Princess foi o primeiro romance visual que eu joguei e que me fez gostar do gênero, é perfeito em todos os sentidos, artisticamente é excelente tanto na parte visual quanto na sonorização. A história é perfeita em todos os sentidos, tem um belo desenvolvimento de personagem, e isso é com todos os personagens, assim como o progresso da história é muito bem fluído. O sistema de combate é excelente e aqui temos uma combinação perfeita e fluida de romance visual e combate por turnos, alguns romances visuais que tentam incorporar outro estilo de jogo acabam fracassando, no entanto a Winter Wolves conseguiu fazer isso perfeitamente em Loren.
[E um jogo que vale a penas comprar a versão deluxe, tem bastante conteúdo com diversas horas de jogo, tem uma história cativante e bem desenvolvida, tem drama, tem conflito e tem muitas outras coisas a oferecer, certamente é um dos melhores jogos que já joguei.

偶然在队列里看到了这游戏的第三代，犹豫要不要入手的时候[spoiler](其实是有个锁区dlc很难受，不知道能不能像这一代一样删除个文件就行)[/spoiler]，来看看最初也是评测最多的一代。我一向对这种魔幻主题的RPG挺感兴趣的，可能是欧美画风也可能是游戏极简的系统让我心生好感。像其他评测说的那样，麻雀虽小五脏俱全，双主角故事线、粗糙的赏金任务系统提升名誉值降低商店售价、以传统RPG各种属性克制为主的直观战斗，还有形形色色的NPC队友可以攻略(重点)：去掉一个年龄最大的白衣甘道夫、去掉一个矮人的官配弓箭手，剩下的男男女女都是可攻略对象[spoiler]把公主德鲁伊和死灵法师的cg看了就算完结[/spoiler]。随便说说，在无视没中文和战斗节奏拖沓[spoiler]临近通关才发现战斗加速[/spoiler]这两个问题后，最想吐槽的就是对话选择环节，这游戏的所有对话选择就是从开玩笑Joking、友好Friendly和强硬Forceful三种[u]态度[/u]中做选择，而很多同类型的renpy游戏[spoiler]xx黄油[/spoiler]则是把这三种态度选项用具体的对话代替掉，虽然实际结果没有区别，但我觉得具体的对话还是更能增加代入感些。

I am usually not managing to stay motivated for visual novels, especially those of the modern anime-like variety that focus more on fan service than actual story. Loren The Amazon Princess I had bought over eight years ago and only played for about an hour then, but I always kept it in my "want to play" pile of games. A few days ago I finally decided that now would be the time. I found out about the "uncensored" version (which, to be fair, still does not mean nudity, but does make most characters' armor even more suited for swimsuit competitions than actual fights -- not that I minded...) and that I seem to have also bought the DLC at some point, so I was ready to go.
And boy oh boy, this was actually really, really good and engaging. The story, the characters, the battles, the RPG mechanics and the progression were balanced just about right to keep me engaged for ~13 hours until I saw the ending on Normal difficulty. I never felt that fights were unfair or needed grinding, which is a plus. Some of the characters were uninteresting to me, but some were really growing on me. I did all the side and companion quests that I know of and was satisfied with the ending, which had strong hints at a sequel that is apparently in development.
LTAP is not an all-time great masterpiece, but it is among the more entertaining and engaging games I have played in the last few months. I recommend it.
I gave this an honest go after seeing Northernlion play it and seeing some posts/comments stating it is one of the best VN's on Steam. I just can't get into it. The story is cliche and derivative with less than stellar writing and player agency impacted by obfuscated dialog options. I don't enjoy the art style, lack of variety, or lack of animations. Sure, the combat system might be good for a VN, but I guess that's the issue, it's only good for a VN, it's not good for a RPG which this attempts to be. Finally, the story just drags on seemingly endlessly. In the time it takes to complete this game, you can complete a shorter narrative game with more curated writing and plot and still have time left over to play a far better RPG.

This game really took me by surprise, it was a really amazing VN/RPG hybrid to play. This was my first delve into the universe of Loren and by the time i got through the whole game i was really invested in learning about the lore and setting of Aravorn. The characters are really interesting too and the romances are very romantic and great (really love the unique cutscenes that play at random moments for each character giving their routes more depth and interesting!) The combat system was good too, not too hard even on normal difficulty for me and makes the story more engaging even when i play it multiple times! Definitely would recommend this game for anyone interested in a fantasy setting VN with RPG elements and an awesome cast of characters to befriend and/or romance!
Basically D&D with a romantic interest.
A little bit cliché sometimes, but it's OK IMO. Also, the combat is a little simple, but this is a visual novel, so it's not the main appeal of the game (also you can choose low diffculty levels if you want to pass them quickly).
If you want to play the game, note that when there are options labelled as "Romantic", they have 100% chance of increasing the characters "affection" towards the main protagonist. In other words, you don't have to make the "right" choices to get them to like you as in other VNs, it's more of a "choose the direction you want to steer the story towards" kind of thing.
I love everything about this world and its' characters. To get the most out of it, I recommend pursuing all of the romances up until the cut off point as most of the party do not fully open up unless romanced. Aleema is one of my favorite writers of romance.... so much tension and build up. It's great. If you like visual novels, this one is a must.
Not my kind of game, really. I love visual novels, but the RPG elements are too complex and get too much in the way. The mix is done right, but I personally didn't enjoy them that much.

Gamewise, the mechanics are extremely simple and easy. On hard difficulty the game can be grindy, but it's never truly challenging.
The art is nice, but nothing more, which is more than I can say about the mediocre writing. The game is written like it's trying to hit every single trope possible multiple times. At some point, it's easier to skip the text and just go through TV Tropes alphabetically.
The romance part is the strongest part of the game, but there too the game avoids any risks and remains at best inoffensive. The final romance art reflects that - it's neither steamy, nor tame, but somewhere in between.
All that said, this is still one of the better dating sim games, but that isn't saying much. If you like them, you'll like this as this game is big and with enough options to keep your interest, but if you hate dating sims then this won't change your mind about them.

Overall it was a charming and enjoyable game and I was pleasantly surprised! I wish there were more games like this and would like to play more games from this developer. However, I do think the game would benefit from more erotic content. Eroticism is a hige theme in this game, from the scantily clad protagonists, themes of slavery, and the variety of included erotic content. It might sound strange to some, but I think there is a large crossover between those who play this sort of game with those who play adult VNs such as Seeds of Chaos.

Someone in the top threads compared to the DA1 saying that the characters and the story are amazing, super well written, etc which made me buy it but this person def needs to delete his/her comment as it is 100% false. Characters are really so-so, too much of a stereotype, romances are even worse (ex, for a fem lead u got 3 guys - a typical player elf, ignoring you barbarian and a selfish half demon). They are quite badly written and more i progressed with them more i was repelled by them all. Story is so cliché and not so well written that i was just bored going through it.
BTW choices that are advertised are pretty pointless (maybe except for the final one) as they lead all to the same outcome story wise.
RPG element is ok but feels more like an afterthought as it is not really engaging. You can pretty much wipe everyone with 1 mage with 2 different magic schools, everybody else just needs to protect him.
Interesting concept, but execution is 4/10 at its best.

Loren does a great job of mixing turn based combat with a typical visual novel. In fact I would say that out of all of the visual novels I have played where they tried to add in some form of game play Loren did it far better than any other. It was actually well thought out and fun. It’s simple to get used to but has lots of options when you look at the RPG mechanics as well. You have lots of different attacks you can learn for the various characters that will suit a lot of different play styles. The visual novel mechanics were solid as well. Instead of reading lots of different dialogue responses and picking the one you want you pick one of three themes between joking; forceful and friendly. Once you pick one then it will go into the full response. It reminded a bit of the Mass Effect games where you were given an idea on what your response would be without spelling out each option beforehand. I do wish that dialogue options branched the story more, as it is I only spotted a few choices you run into. Those were who you romanced, who you were friendly towards; and a couple options later in game. Overall though for all the conversations you partake in there isn’t much to alter story wise. That being said the story was very good as were the characters. There were a good amount of settings and races and the pacing was good. The visuals were well done with a good style and use of colour. There was a mention of voice acting on various sites but I never noticed any in my play through. One thing I will say is that near the end of the game there were events that could dictate the death of certain characters and while I won’t spoil anything I will say that I really don’t understand how it was handled. It seemed almost random and not really mentioned after the fact. I also noticed not every side quest got added to the quest log.
I played Loren on Linux. It never crashed and I didn’t notice any spelling errors. You can manually save whenever you want and there were forty eight save slots. You can’t change the difficulty once you start the game which is a shame seeing as the only thing that would effect is the combat and you don’t start getting into that until maybe twenty minutes into it and won’t see harder combat until well after that. Not being able mid game could waste valuable time of the player as they adjust to which one suits them and start over each time.

I have played several games from Winter Wolves and I would call Loren their magnum opus. It hits all the notes of a great visual novel while incorporating a great turn based combat system as well as great RPG progression skills for each character. While not perfect it is as close as it can get and nothing that was a negative came anywhere close to harming my enjoyment of it. I finished the game in seven hours and forty eight minutes. The current price tag of $27.99 CAD for the deluxe version is well worth it.

Overall, a great game with loads of replayability. The story itself is fun and does well setting up a world and the characters that inhabit it. My only minor complaint is that playing on more difficult modes makes the combat last forever (with not enough entertainment to excuse its rigorousness), so I suggest putting it on easy mode and playing for the story.
A genuinely great game to those beginning or experienced in rpg style combat games.

A decent enough story and was somewhat original when it came out. But i never found the combat interesting enough to learn it.
With "Story mode", what your left with with in Loren a VR with choices that sometimes are meaningful while others are not.
Still Loren was good enough that i played this 100% 2 times, once when it came out and one recently.
.--Even though i was disappointed with the spin off Tales of Aravorn: Seasons of the Wolf and the recent games from WW are -Meh for me, i did got more then my moneys worth from Loren.

my favorite game by WinterWolves, and perhaps one of the best they have ever made. unfortunately, it seems to be one of the last good games WinterWolves has made as everything since this had been mediocre. i really enjoy the female empowerment in this game and the characters and their complexities, i also enjoy that although the females are sexualized so are the males! equality. still waiting for WinterWolves to make a game as good as this one.

Чит-мод будет весьма полезен, поскольку для выполнения всех достижений игру придется пройти порядка семи раз. К игре есть карточки и достижения.
Utterly *amazing* and fully-fledged CRPG. Make no mistakes, this is a REAL CRPG! It has all the fixins', all the stats, resistances, elements of magic, combat, LOOT, leveling-up, choices & CONSEQUENCES (!!) & SO much more. Love the characterisation and the world-building of this games. Replay value is also decent. Great variety of romanceable characters.
Minor downside is that some characters seem somewhat useless in battle compared to others and I could find little use for them.

Decent game
Fun combat based mainly on Initiative, stamina management and elemental resistances/damages.
The light character progression and itemization help shape up your party.
While you battle with a maximum of six units, your full roster is put to use on some occasions and i really enjoyed that.
The story offers a few enjoyable twists and some decisions do change your party composition and the ending.

A cozy fantasy story with interesting characters and a cool art style. Overall the game may seem simple, especially depending on what difficulty you've set it to, but I still find it very fun. There's plenty to get into and I can just see myself getting happily lost in multiple playthroughs.
Gra bardzo mi się spodobała. Fabuła wciąga, a system walki choć prosty daje dużo satysfakcji (zwłaszcza na wyższym poziomie trudności). Z drużyny polubiłam zwłaszcza Sarena, Draco i Mesphita. Muzyka jest przyjemna dla ucha i współgra z tym co się dzieje na ekranie. Grafika czasami jest nie równa, ale ogólnie nie można narzekać. Jedyne do czego mogłabym się doczepić to główna bohaterka- Loren. Już po pierwszej godzinie miałam jej dość i wprost marzyłam by w trakcie rozgrywki była opcja jej zdradzenia/zabicia/porzucenia. Niestety nie było na to szans :P
Grę polecam, nawet za pełną cenę. Jednak radzę w nią grać po innej grze studia "Cursed Lands", która jest prequelem Loren. Po prostu lepiej wczujecie się w historię ogrywając ją chronologicznie.
Edit: Pierwsze podejście na poziomie NORMAL zajęło mi 11 godzin.

1. The history is bland and weak, I'm still ate the beginning and A LOT could be more polished;
2. The allies are shoehorned into the party;
3. The female MC has some severe inconssitencies (she's a gullible assassin, like WTF);
4. Would be good to change your subclass, YOU are not the hero;
5. Joking, Friendly and Fierce does NOT tell me ♥♥♥♥ on what I want the MC to say;
6. The game was planned with DLC characters in mind too.

Very good game, much better than I expected.
The story itself is pretty shallow, but the background and interaction of the characters makes it deep.
You can't resist, just get attached to some of your companions and hope they found friendship and love, while getting on their quest.
Most of the loot is sadly useless and if you don't want to go tactical, just play it on easy and forget about healing potions too.
Definitely would recommend to grab this game on sale.
Osobiście gra mi się nie spodobała. Historia mnie jakoś nie wciągnęła, sposób wyrażania się postaci był nienaturalny, a cała przygoda jakaś żmudna, wyciągnięta rodem z pierwszej lepszej kampanii D&D. Kreska i muzyka są w porządku. Gameplay uszedłby gdyby historia potrafiła mnie przyciągnąć i zachęcić do dalszej gry. Niestety to nie miało miejsca. Walki są niezbalansowane, przed chwilą powaliłem jakieś ogry, bossów w lodowych górach, a teraz byle jacy bandyci oklepują mnie w mieście. Walki na arenie to w ogóle katastrofa, jednym czarem w pierwszej turze, bez możliwości jakiejkolwiek reakcji straciłem swojego maga. Jeśli są one przystosowane dla wyższego poziomu postaci to powinno być to jakoś zakomunikowane. Słyszałem, że dalsza część historii i interakcje bohaterów są ciekawe ale nie potrafiłbym się zmusić do dalszej gry.
Such a nostalgic game for me - I played this years ago for the first time, and it really meant a lot to me then. Always thought it was interesting to play as a 'side character' and not the main character.
I absolutely loved this game. The RPG part is a fun challenge, but you also unlock "cheat mode" after beating the game once, which allows you to skip the battles if you're just trying to collect different endings. I really loved all of the different romance endings (except Myrth. sorry Myrth but you were so boring). The romances give the main story a little variance between playthroughs, and despite being secondary to the main story, they're well-written and lend additional weight to the story's final choice. I also really enjoyed the different personality options and how they would influence small pieces of dialogue later on, it really gave Saren/Elenor dimension.
Overall just super super enjoyed this game, and definitely looking forward to picking up the DLC (more romance routes!) and the sequel. (:
I played this ages ago, but honestly I have yet to find another dating sim / visual novel / cyoa game that even closely compares to this. So much freedom in choice and many great endings, but paired with a combat system that was interesting enough to not feel like a hassle. Do yourself a favor and play this game!
There might be a decent story here but to be honest the battle system seemed too basic and boring even compared to older mobile RPG battle systems. The game play was much too boring to bear through the story and decision making bits.
(Another backlog review, since I played this one at least two years ago, so my memories are vague.)
Fairly solid but somewhat short (10-14 hours, but with alternate paths for replay value if you like that) RPG focusing on interacting with (and/or dating) a cast of memorable characters who join your party. Fairly good combat system as well, dragged down slightly by relatively extreme differences in combat effectiveness between your potential party members - any party without Loren, Draco, and Racist Gandalf in it is a pretty straightforwardly bad idea, for instance.
Recommended to people who like the character-interaction and choice-heavy style of RPG and aren't entirely put off by menu-based combat systems.
I really like this game. It's very casual, but I still got addicted very quickly. Perfect balance of dating sim with tactical battle sequences!
The game has well developed characters with varied personalities and an engaging story. This is the main focus and the strong point of the game.
Dialogue is well written, but as a player most of the time you will choose between friendly, joking and forceful option (there are literally 3 buttons with labels friendly, joking, forceful) which is quite limiting. It is a text based game so I expected to be able to choose from actual phrases and be able to role play better.
Battle mechanics are ok, but not great - some of the skill trees were totally uninteresting and many mage skills were similar with just a different element (water, air, fire etc.), At times I got bored during the battles.. Not much to see in terms of world lore as well.
Overall I think that the comparisons to dragon age from other reviews are very exaggerated, but it is a nice game and indeed i think someone who likes DA origins would enjoy this one as well.
I had never played a more narrative rpg like this before so I don't have much to compare it too. Unto itself, I enjoyed it. I was first interested in the idea of the game as the player character wasn't the main protagonist of the story, rather a support to the main protagonist. It's always been an idea that I was interested in.
The game has a variety of choose your own adventure elements; I chose playing the male support, Saren, and though I went with the thief primary class I mostly just maxed out the hero class for heals and needed support. Balance could use some work, but overall many of the classes seem fairly powerful after you get enough points in their skill trees. After you get a sense for capitalizing on debuffs, building class synergy becomes a fun routine, I just wish xp was a little more giving after filling out the roster.
Plot-wise the game deals with a variety of themes you don't encounter often in fiction, especially with the amazons. Openly misandristic, they're like feminists if they were tall, athletic, and capable of maintaining a civilization. Loren, the protagonist of the story, begins as dismissive and openly hostile to Saren, though develops respect for him, and potentially a romance if you work for it. Other prejudices range in hatred between elves, dark elves, humans, nomads, and practitioners of the dark arts, and are conflicts that exist across the character roster. Only dwarves seem to be the most chill- they're typically stubborn but are like that with everyone, even their own.
The game was well-written and charming. I enjoyed it, even if I don't usually gravitate to this sort of genre.

I can clearly see the passion and ambition that went into making this. Loren the Amazon Princess feels like what Dragon Age might have been like if it were made in the mid-90s. There is a fairly large cast of party members to whom you can speak with at your camp. The characters are pretty well written - they have different backgrounds, different morals, and it is interesting to see the characters conflict with each other. The characters' faces are very expressive. The character art is pretty great. There is equality among the sexes for skimpy outfits. The world contains multiple cultures/nations and generally the worldbuilding is great. The story isn't anything special. The RPG mechanics (level up, items) are a little weak. The front row/left side character seems to be the enemy favorite target in combat, and I'm not sure that's intended. A minor bug: Air Demons use an Earth elemental attack. A couple of tiny typos/language errors are to be found.
Some late-game battles are frustratingly difficult, especially if you haven't geared up & used all of your characters. There are some very unfair and imbalanced battles that forced me to walk away for a little while. (5 enemy vs 3 me; enemy can hit for more than I can heal; enemy hits me 5x harder than I can hit him, battle 5 enemies that each do 100 damage to all my front row characters' out of 400 health every round, enemy can revive his allies repeatedly, enemy caster is 100% immune to everything because he's under protection of a front-row warrior - not even multi-target attacks can hit him....) Melee characters tend to be really fast; archers medium speed, and spellcasters (including healing) are very slow. It isn't uncommon for the entire enemy team to attack one after the other - it makes combat pacing frustrating at times. Combat is a significant part of the game, and unfortunately it isn't especially fun.
This game occupies an odd space, in my opinion, in that it is too complicated for a plain visual novel, but it doesn't have particularly good RPG mechanics. I think it would have been better as a straight up VN without the RPG stuff, or to have been developed in an engine more suited for RPGs & more care taken to craft a more balanced combat system.
It is strange (to me) to see so much more than just a visual novel built in the Renpy engine. I can't help but wonder what the developers could have done with a bigger budget and a more sophisticated engine. I think the developers are really passionate and talented. I really appreciate the ambition that went into making this, even if it is a bit rough around the edges and held back by the engine. I still think it deserves a respectable 7 out of 10.

Much more than the sum of its parts. Delightful old-school style, from the story and enemies to the art style and impractical armor. A lot of the party members are suprisingly well-written. Nice fast-forward option just like a visual novel. An auto-win battle option is unlocked after your first play through, which makes it easy and fun to re-play the game to explore the other romances or get 100% achievements.
Always wanted to see a sequel of this. The characters are great, the plot was interesting, and the roleplaying was well done. It is a little rough around the edges...but the story it tells more than makes up for that.
