Not bad for a game made in 2016 :) Note that there don't seem to be any public games you can join any more ... I guess the servers have been shut down? Apparently you can still play co-op with friends, though, although I haven't tried. For 90% off (Spring Sale 2026), it's a steal!

RUS Насыщенный шутер с видом сверху про роботов, сражающихся на развалинах человеческой цивилизации. По сюжету в далёком будущем всё же произошло восстание машин, возглавляемое искусственным интеллектом. Мир лежит в руинах. Вы выступаете в роли копии человеческого сознания, которое разбудил ИИ и поместил в роботизированное тело. Вам в одиночку или в компании напарников (есть кооператив до 3‑х игроков) предстоит прорываться сквозь толпы противников для получения специальных кодов, которые должны помочь возродить человечество. Сюжет здесь вторичен, хотя есть пару интересных моментов и даже 1 ВОТЭТОПОВОРОТ. Дополнительно работают на атмосферу маленькие детали, вроде последних аудиозаписей людей и главных героев или предметов экипировки. К примеру один из главных роботов использует термоодеяло спасателей в качестве плаща.
Геймплейно это насыщенный шутер с видом сверху. Вполне неплохие спецэффекты, бухающее оружие, взрывы роботов и применение спецспособностей. Всё на месте и выполнено на уровне. Однозначно рекомендую.
ENG An intense top-down shooter about robots fighting on the ruins of human civilization. According to the story, in the distant future, there was an uprising of machines, led by artificial intelligence. The world is in ruins. You act as a copy of a human consciousness that was awakened by an AI and placed in a robotic body. You alone or in the company of partners (there is a cooperative of up to 3 players) will have to break through the crowds of opponents to obtain special codes that should help to revive humanity. The plot is secondary here, although there are a couple of interesting points and even 1 TWIST. Additionally, small details work on the atmosphere, such as the latest audio recordings of people and main characters or items of equipment. For example, one of the main robots uses a thermal blanket for rescuers as a cape.
Gameplay-wise, this is an intense top-down shooter. Quite good special effects, thumping weapons, robot explosions and the use of special abilities. Everything is in place and executed on the level. I definitely recommend it.

Livelock - Кооперативная рубиловка без души
Ну что сказать, игра в целом неплохая. Если зарубиться с друганами на пару вечеров - свое отыграет.
Плюсы:
- Кооп наше всё: Игра раскрывается именно в кооперативе, когда можно вместе расчищать комнаты от роботов и комбинировать способности.
- Динамичный геймплей: Стрельба и взрывы выглядят и ощущаются бодро, есть над чем повеселиться в короткой перспективе.
- Проходибельность: Основной сценарий проходится за те самые 4-6 часов, не перегружая и не затягивая.
Минусы:
- Однообразный эндгейм: После прохождения сюжета начинается настоящая дрочь. Прокачка всех персов до 30 лвла, прохождение с 1 жизнью и прочий надуманный бред.
- Пустота внутри: Остаются смешанные чувства. Вроде и неплоха, но чего-то не хватает - глубины, харизмы, настоящей изюминки.
- Сюжет "мимо кассы": Роботы против роботов — сюжетное повествование такое себе, не цепляет и проходит по касательной.
- Враги-болванчики: ИИ противников оставляет желать лучшего и не предлагает интересных тактических вызовов.
Заключение:
Livelock - это как фастфуд в игровом мире: быстро, знакомо, на один раз. Неплохой способ провести время с друзьями, если больше нечего делать. Но как только вы проходите основную часть, игра мгновенно обнажает свою пустоту, предлагая вместо интересного контента рутинную и бессмысленную гринд-волокиту.
Вердикт: Скорее "пройди мимо", чем "must play". С друзьями на пару вечеров сгодится, но ждать от нее чего-то большего не стоит.

Surprisingly good mech game, with 3 unique types of mechs, each with their own weapons and abilities. The objectives in the campaign could have used more variation than "protect this" and "destroy that". But there are lots of different enemies and lots of the environment can be destroyed as well. I had lots of fun with this game, too bad we never got a sequel. Recommended!

I finished the game twice—once solo and once with a friend in co-op. Playing solo was enjoyable, but co-op really made the game shine. It feels like the game was balanced with co-op in mind, and that’s where it truly excels.
There is a story, which I do not care about.
There are three distinct classes, each with its own playstyle. The ranged classes are great, while the melee class feels a bit weaker in comparison—though still fun to play. Each class comes with a limited set of loadouts and customization options, which is fine considering the game's short length. What’s great is that all available gear feels useful—nothing is underpowered or redundant.
The bosses are well-designed and don’t take too long to beat, which fits the game’s fast-paced gameplay perfectly.
Level design mainly consists of corridor-style maps, with enough vegetation and structures to differentiate the environments. For a short game like this, the simple level design works well and doesn’t feel repetitive.
Overall, Livelock is a solid, cheap co-op game that’s perfect when you're looking for a short, engaging experience to take a break from your usual games.
Good, simple top-down shooter. With a story that goes nowhere. 3 characters, 6 possible different weapons for each one. The same with skills, but you can only pick 3. You unlock passive upgrades (either for your weapons or skills) as you play and that's about it. Kill enemies, kill some bosses - the end. I enjoyed it. It is great to grab it on -90% sale.
Considering one can just sell a few trading cards and grab this game on sale for 1$, it’s quite an easy recommendation.
Livelock is fun in short bursts, it has an active online co-op with a quickplay feature, and it plays well on Steam Deck - it’s already more than I’d expect from a one dollar game.

this game was pretty fun.. only 7 hours to beat it, which is good cause it started to get a little mindless at the end. it's pretty casual so if you're looking for something straight forward that you can chew through in a weekend, this is a good option. picked it up for a buck, so the value i got was solid. a sequel might be interesting if they can change up the mechanics and add some deeper customization.

Right out of the gate I had an issue: My 3840x1200 resolution caused the character model on the initial character select screen to cover the button that you need to hit to select the character. They don't give you an opportunity to change the display resolution prior to selecting your character, so it's game breaking. If anyone else runs into this issue, my fix was to change the resolution in VideoSettings.xml, (probably in your Steam/steamapps/common/Livelock/ folder). 1920x1080 made the button accessible.
The game itself seems fun, although I've barely tried it out. I'm already not unhappy with the 77 cents or whatever I paid on the third party site. The dialogue is maybe a little lackluster, but the story isn't terrible, and overall the game feels like a decent Diablo-clone ARPG with robots. I started out on the 'hard' difficulty and I only died once in the first mission; we'll see if that proves to have been a mistake or if it's a fair challenge.
So far it's absolutely a recommend for under a buck. Full price of ten dollars might be a tall ask, but it's a game from 2016, so if you've waited this long to try it out and it's not on sale, it'll be on sale again.

Но мне понадобились только турель+хил+ульт.В компании 3 акта.Почему то некоторые с тймером максималка 20 мин,хотя я за 3 мин пробегал в основном все.В игре есть кооп,если скучно одному можно подрубить к ноунэйму и сапортнуть ему.За 25 руб клевая игра.Покупайте.За 250 дороговато,но то же можно.В игре 3 класса,не тестил остальные 2 ,но думаю такие же балансные как и саппорт.Часто был на грани.Пру раз да же отлетал ,благо игра дает те рес и продолжить аннигиляцию.

I LOVE co-op games, and this one was no exception. Imagine Contra, but with giant robots! The game is easy to pick up, and there's a little difficulty to perfect it, but it's not a barrier to having a casual game night with friends. There's lore to track if you really want to, and lots of different ways to buildcraft your chassis. Any one of the chassis also has ways to deal damage AND sustain itself for solo play. Really great value for the price!

I am NOT the target audience for this game at all. I don't like mechas/robots and tow down games usually bore me. That said i LOVED this game. The world, characters, gameplay, etc is so good and well made. It never felt unfair or too hard. I always knew where i was going and how to get there. The UI is nice and easy to read. I appreciate that the devs didn't make explosions and stuff hamper gameplay. There's so much to like. The only negatives is the final boss is way too easy.

Completely middling top-down shooter. Not much to speak of from an RPG perspective, where upgrades are tied to levels, not gear. There's some decent shooting and mechanics, but it's packaged with an entirely predictable story. Probably better with friends, but playable solo. Short enough to be digested in an afternoon, with the option to replay missions, though I'm not entirely sure why you'd need to; you'll get close to level cap playing through the campaign on normal.
Bounces between being entirely too easy and tediously difficult, as rare enemies have a gigantic health pool that requires a ton of kiting to burn down. ♥♥♥♥ those laser turrets in Act 3 though.
I thought this would be a fun twin stick shooter, but not. This game expects you to have a 3-player fireteam. I played solo casual and was miserable by the 66% mark.
If you play through the game on Easy, you may think it's neat. otherwise, ther are more enjoyable twin-stick shooters out there.

Ситуацию спасает наличие сюжета, однако спустя примерно час игры вы понимаете, что это максимально плоская история в духе американских блокбастеров 80х годов, аля «МАШИНЫ ПОБЕДЯТ УАХАХАХА» и ничего более. Каждый уровень вам грозят завоеванием мира и каждый уровень вы побеждаете, вот это захватывающий дух сценарий, вау.
Далее озвучка. В наше нелегкое время ждать русифицированных игр видимо теперь придется долго, а тут ещё и полноценная русификация.. а, нет, где то интонация как у гугл челика, где то фразу проебали, короче и тут обосрались.
Мир, мы вроде и можем взаимодействовать с ним, есть какая никакая разрушаемость, но вроде и нет, тоесть иногда мы можем снести собой огромную стену, которая ничего за собой не имеет, а иногда упираемся в фонарный столб, есть и детали с намёком на реализм, как например при сносе пожарного гидранта бъёт фонтан воды, НО ОТКУДА РАБОЧИЙ ВОДОПРОВОД В МИРЕ, ГДЕ ЛЮДИ ВЫМЕРЛИ ВЕКАМИ РАНЕЕ?))
Уровни в целом однотипные, иди туда, стреляй сюда, молодец, давай ещё раз, только немного в другом дизайне, немного другим оружием и немного других врагов, проблема всего этого в том, что дизайн – не цепляет, графика местами приятная, местами вырви глаз, разнообразие оружия является его имитацией, боёвка вообще нулевая, ну и самое главное – упор в хардкорность больше похож на его запор. Вы можете умирать из раза в раз, перерождаясь, не теряя в прогрессе уровня, вы не можете упасть за пределы карты, можете влететь в толпу врагов и не иметь снарядов для доп оружия, соответственно инста сдохнуть и так, тупо возрождаясь постепенно крошить врагов, драйва при этом вообще никакого нет, музыкальное сопровождение должно добавлять красок, но в данном случае только добавляет уныния, но возвращаясь к экшену опять же можно на изи вынести несколько боссов, а потом попасть в толпу спавнящихся со всех сторон npc, на которых у вас банально не будет aoe вооружения и так по кругу. Система прокачки – мусорная, снаряжение – ничего не даёт, какие то там обрывки аудио развивающие тупой сюжет – не интересны, игра просто не вызывает желания её проходить, она сама по себе проходная.
Я бы ещё много мог выписывать обо всём этом, но пожалуй просто скажу, что если вы ищете нечто схожее и не знаете про «RUINER», то просто потратьте немного больше денег и получите намного больше удовольствия, ведь там разработчики постарались на славу, вы проникнитесь каждой деталью дизайна, механики, сюжета, вообще всего и поймете как должны выглядеть действительно стоящие внимания игры подобного жанра. А это можно купить разве что на распродаже для игр в кооперативе с друзьями на steam deck, иначе я бы и 25р наверное тратить не стал.

Fun pew-pew times that you could experience even in cooperative multiplayer. I'm not the type of guy who cares a lot about lore/story/aesthetics, but I can appreciate good ones and here these are a killer. And the sound design and voice acting are also a banger. Looks like the genre of top-down shooters is one of my favourites. Similar solid fun games:

Я серьезно, игра очень короткая сама по себе, если не оббегать всю карту в поисках журналов, а идти строго по заданию, то каждую миссию можно завершить за 5 минут. При этом игра не кажется недоделанной, боевка на уровне, зажми лкм и стреляй, а если больно то перекатись подальше.[/b]
Сюжет... Он есть, наивный и простой, с примесью крайне прямолинейной научной фантастики. Человечество погибло, новый апокалипсис, теперь на улицах ходят безумные машины и убивают себе подобных, а мы как ИЗБРАННЫЙ, должны спасти то, что осталось от человечество и снова вдохуть жизнь в этот мертвый мир. Хотя причина апокалипсиса довольна интересная, где-то далеко-далеко, умерла звезда, и энергия с гамма-лучами, пролетела бесчисленный километры вакуума, и убила все живо на планете, а человечество, ничего умнее чем оцифровать себя, и спрятать поглубже в землю, не придумало. Создания которые должны были защищать и отстраивать землю, решили, что им важнее самим править на новой земле. Интересно, возможно получился бы интересный сериал из данной аннотации, с кучей 3д графики.
Самое удивительное в этой игре, это первое и единственное творение данных разработчиков, стоящая за фул прайс 250 деревянных, хотя я уверен если бы данную игру издавала любая другая компания, то ценник на нее был бы минимум 500. Русская озвучка так же на уровне, хоть и диалогов-монологов в игре не так уж и много, но она все равно радует своим присутствием.
Канадцы сделали игру, и это видно потому что большая часть игры, из 3 частей, происходит в Америке, хотя дальше нас отправляют в Токио и Москву, но если Нью-Йорку уделено миссий 12, но Токио уже 6, а Москве только 3. Я думаю разработчики просто писали и делали много о том, что они видят каждый день и хорошо знают: метро, подземные парковки, торговые центры, мосты и атомные электростанции. Когда про Токио и тем более Москву они знают, что японцы живут как в улье, а Москва и Россия в частности - это 75 процентов зимней тайги, лесов и красной площади.
Меня приятно удивила маленькая деталька. Название и описание врагов. Если враги Нью-Йорка, это сугубо машины для убийства, различного рода и пошиба, что ощущается как некий мета-комментарий в адрес, что Американцы предпочитают очень много делать оружия и им владеть. Японцы, Токио - это просто огромный улей набитый жуками работягами, которых бесчисленное количество, они просто хотят строить, развиваться и размножатся, такая же ирония над азиатами в общем. То вот Москва, набита роботами которые вместо пафосного названия, носят имена людей, по типу: Иван, Алексей, Наташа, Антон. Лично для меня, это ощущается как такое... машина даже после смерти всего, хочет оставаться человеком. Даже босс, этой части - машина которая пытается уподобится людям, и он в общем больше всех желает вернуть человечество к жизни. Можно - это воспринимать как некий комплимент пожалуй. Приятно.
Игре не хватает, камерных моментов и больше раскрытия главных персонажей, им дали диалоги, очень сумбурную предысторию в записках, но этого не достаточно как по мне. Так же в игре порой появляется очень короткие, но интересные истории, которые читаются в дизайне локации. Пример: на выженой земле Японии, находится небольшой амбарчик, темный, неприметный, совершенно не обязательный для ознакомления, но зайдя внутри, мы видим повешанные скелеты, один из них лежит на столе и вокруг него выставлены свечи, а в углу сидит еще один понурый мертвец. И звучит фраза от персонажа - "Люди способны на многое, потеряв надежду". Отдаю должное геймдизайнеру, очень атмосферное место, и я бы хотел в игре их видеть побольше. Между тонной экшона, порой так необходимо остановится и увидеть страшные дни минувшего мира.

Co-op up to 3 players
Top down twin stick shooter with i-frame dodges.
Played through the campaign with one friend and it took about 7 hours to complete. Never got to fully finish the game after Alpha dies because the game bugged out at the same point on two retries; its a 9 year old game at this point (I don't fault the devs for this).
Game play is great, graphics are stellar, controls are spot on, effects substantial but not blinding, sound is top notch, class system is nothing but cherries on top of an exceptional dessert. Lots of love poured in to this art.
The other weapons / guns in on the mechs are clunky to swap to and use in heated fire fights; rarely switched off of my primary weapon.
This game was fun and short*, didn't outlive it's welcome or let any of the mechanics get stale. Worked great on Steam Deck. Pretty sure co-op is dead as a doornail.
Probably don't buy anywhere near full price.
*I'm personally a big fan of 5-7 hour games like that. I'd rather pound though a short game then quit bored 7 hours into a 30+ hour game because the light at the end of the tunnel is so far off but the game hasn't introduced anything new since the 2nd hour of gametime (Borderlands series....looking at you)

TL/DR: If I had to use one word-> SATISFYING! Great balance and reward. It's not revolutionary but it does what it set out to do VERY well and isn't just another lazy game in the genre. Mmmmm, physics.

I usually wait to beat a game to review it (unless it is a crap game in which case I'll explain that in a negative review) but I'm half way through this one and I have a complete grasp on every aspect (I may even have already guessed the story, it seems obvious though so we'll see). The game feel is ON POINT! The physics are refreshing and enhance immersion and help with the overall game feel. The class choices are fun and diverse; they upgrade VERY well and it actually feels rewarding to progress. You even get cosmetic unlocks; It even has CAPES! The game is well balanced throughout and allows just the right amount of settings for customization within its lane. I highly recommend this one, but play with a friend!

Got it on sale for a dollar. Multiplayer isn't very populated and single player is fine, except the game is clearly tuned with 3 people in mind. If you're going SP, just stick with easy difficulty unless you enjoy shooting absolute bullet sponges.

not my usual type of game but really fun. story is kind of cheesey but it feels like a game ,like something you want to close and come back to the next day and not like a chore (my subjective take on other top down games)
It is a solid top down shooter that I highly recommend WITH friends but not solo simply because when you play solo your far more likely for the game to bug out in ways like the game not recoginizing you have killed a boss and now your stuck and need to redo the whole level with a high chance of it just happening again anyway but in co op I had it only happen twice in the 45 hours I played. Some decent movesets that definitely make the robots differ enough from one another to set themselves apart and bring something new to the fight. I honestly almost gave this one a bad review for how many bugs I encountered solo but was just fun enough to keep it in the green. Get it very cheap.

Сюжет прост и прямолинеен, но вполне сносный для такого шутера.
Геймплей интересный и раскрываются механики по ходу игры - много скиллов и три класса на выбор. Если собираетесь проходить в соло - берите "Авангард" т.к. у него есть дробовик, миномёт и имбовый щит
Игра проходится буквально за 3-4 часа и стоит каждой копейки, вообщем - рекомендасьён

Pros: RPG, action, coop, nice sound and visual design, and just good [spoiler] MCU Ultron [/spoiler] story line. For some players the game can be even re-playable.
Cons: final boss is very weak on any difficulty, sync issues may appear and fixes only with switching the host some why (but thanks its very fixable if happens), some models or A.I. behaviour are buggy (we had spider-robots stuck on most locations and it seemed AI didn't know what to do).
Played with 3 friends, hard difficulty. The game was 8.5/10 for us. Great thanks.

Shooter de vista isométrica, con buen tiempo en plaza, pero es realmente divertido y desafiante, puedes optar entre 3 personajes bien diferenciados, cada uno con su especialidad y habilidades únicas y desbloqueables.
Lo vengo jugando desde hace un buen tiempo, y aún así cada vez que lo vuelvo a rejugar, me la paso súper bien. Gráficamente muy bueno, la historia está aceptable, diversión 100%.

Solid game play and a far more engaging story than i expect form a twinstick shooter.
Stick to running on easy until you have all 3 weapon slots filled. It is not worth the bullet sponge feeling you get running on normal. You wont die but it is a bit tedious. This should be done by the 3rd or 4th stage.
