Un juego con una ambientación perfecta que te oprime constantemente.
Un sistema simple de combate pero divertido que te lleva a que cualquier malparido te puede dejar entre la espada y la pared.
Terror en cada esquina que te dara algun que otro susto y hara que desconfies hasta de tus propios pasos.
variedad de armas y enemigos que sufren mas o menos daños dependiendo de que tipo de ataque uses, una Historia sobre demonios y el mismisimo infierno.
Solo Critico el "backtracking" en la zona de los baños que se me hizo un poco aburrido e innecesario(tendria que haber permitido al jugador vaciar todos los baños a la vez en lugar de uno por uno)
Un muy buen juego de terror que cumple y de no muy larga duracion(yo jugue el new game+ al momento de esta reseña)

Labyrinth of the Demon King is a gem of a game. It is a return to formula to the early 2000s and harnesses it in full force. The raw atmosphere of this game is incredible. Honestly, the only reason this game isn't rated a 10/10. or even a 9/10 is a series of slightly boring bosses and strange map design choices.

I find myself struggling to find paths forward and ways to progress despite finishing entire areas. It could just be me, but I play LOTS of old games and often don't struggle at all to find progression paths. Recently, I've been playing a lot of King's Field and have had little struggle; but for some reason, the mapping of this game continues to puzzle me and lead me in circles.

Много секретов, загадок и прочей бижутерии, которую то и дело мы будем находить. НГ+ продолжает сюжет и открывает для игрока еще больше контента, особенно по меркам инди проекта.

What a f masterpiece... It's my favorite horror game now (Real horror not re4 likes).
For what people was saying I thought that this game would be really hard, but that was not the case.
The most hard this game gets is just the beginning of the game, when u get how to play it, the game get's really easy... And they shower you with healing items.

Just focus more your upgrades in 1 or, at most, 2 things.

Highly deserving game. I had some doubts in the beginning due to the not-so-good reviews, but I can now definitely concur that the general level of the average player has decreased.

This game is a very intense horror cultural experience, in the same vein as King’s Field, Lunacid, Cry of Fear, and System Shock. It depicts elements of Japanese folklore very accurately and can provide a dark, fast-paced survival horror experience that you cannot easily find elsewhere.

There are not many titles as good as this around, but understand that this is a game developed with the scope of old-school products; therefore, there is no handholding.

Despite the endless comparisons to King's Field I would say I found this game to be much more at home alongside the sixth-gen survival horror bracket-- especially with the obvious reference points such as Condemned: Criminal Origin for the gut-wrench first person combat and dirty-film decaying-Edo-period PS2 titles like the Siren & Fatal Frame series for a lot of the visual design. And it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ delivers on them!! Great little title, great little worldbuilding, banger ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ soundtrack, can't wait to explore the NG+ bonus secrets...

Ok i love the games aesthetic so much, but the pacing is just so wrong. The beginning eases you in nice and slow with plenty of creepiness and disturbing imagery as well as a pretty okay combat system for a ps1 style game. The bosses are jokes though. Every single one can just be filled with arrows till they drop, and later the musket as well (this includes the final boss). The last "tower" is also a slap in the face since its just running up stairs for 3 minutes, c'mon! For what it is it's pretty good but i can't in any good faith recommend someone buy this game until the price gets lowered to around 10$. That being said this was made buy a literal handful of people as a first project and the art direction and music is top notch so the team definitely deserves some praise.

Just beat it and i thought it was fiiiiiine. The game is divided into 3 dungeons which are all self contained, each with a gimmick, jammed doors are everywhere and no you cant open most of them, but check anyway, some become shortcuts later. Right off the bat I will say ignore everyone complaining that theres no ending, there is an ending, its not a bait and switch, youre explicitly told whats happening, but after that is open to interpretation.

Bosses are easy, cartoonishly so, youre not here for them anyway, its fine. Level design is okay for the most part, too many jammed doors, and several you cant clear, ever, despite the fact alot of them act like shortcuts that would just make things more convenient for you. Looking at you prison area. You're not gonna believe this, the map....is labyrinthine in its design, maybe a little too much so, theres dead ends everywhere and its kind of annoying to navigate alot of the time. half the areas dont have maps either, getting lost is definitely part of the point here. Its got resident evil doors, and ill say right now, i dont like them. They slow down the game severly, and hey, looking at you once more prison, but also the bathouse where two RESI doors are NEXT TO EACH OTHER, which means two loading screens back to back. not nearly as bad as climbing the tower where theres 4 OF THEM AS YOU CLIMB. or the resi door that opens to ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. A loading screen to check and a loading screen to get back, oh boy!

Well besides wandering around dark corridors telling yourself you swear there was an item you need here, theres also combat which is....fine. Easy to cheese, just heavy attack everything and backstep. Theres a combo system....Its a funny joke, but I wouldnt recommend trying any of them. Enemies can only be hit once before they recover from stun, then you just get parried. Combat as trading single blows is....serviceable. its not bad, I liked the combat encounters, even if afew enemies are BS like the shorty with a butthole for a face.

Over all the game is fine, but I wanted to give up afew times because i just got bored. Still saw it through to the end though. pretty alright 6/10. I wish steam gave "Is aight" as a rating, but ill say recommend, just because theres stuff to like here despite the flaws.

Great atmosphere and music. It's overall a good time if you like slow burn games. Didn't do NG+, but happy it's an option.

The combat isn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be. It's only an issue on a couple of enemies like the lickers. Everything else is just positioning, timing your hits, and stay moving. My only death was after beating the jailer. I got gangbanged post cutscene by his skeletons before I could move.

Surprised this game isn't more popular.

As of the review, I only have 1 hour on this game, but I already recommend it. It's a cross of classic Resident Evil and Dark Souls. I got greedy in some parts, and in doing so, got me killed and lost progress, which is the punishing part of the game. Fake loading screens of going upstairs/downstairs or opening doors like the RE games made it feel nostalgic yet creepy at the same time.

I do wish that the menus didn't close out the game. If you want to practice in the training room, and you are mid-game, you have to exit the game and then relaunch to get into the training room. The inverse is also true. I know it is supposed to emulate the classic games, but its a QoL improvement that I feel can be compromised on.

Отличная атмосферная игра. Не часто вижу данный сеттинг + геймплей был занятным, смесь сайлентхила и ДС (даже катаны на яд и кровоток есть). Хотя конечно не хватает альтернативных концовок, но сам сюжет и персонажи прикольные. Можно даже лишний часик другой на НГ+ устроить мочилово.

Atmosphere and aesthetic feels awesome. Fighting is not really that bad as other reviewers saying, but there is a couple times when enemy just dont give time to react and just hitting instantly without prepare animation which is feels unfair. Negative because its all feels pointless. Because of this i expirienced that rare moment that im glad i got spoiler and i know that there is no proper ending just in time so i can return money lol

Let me begin this positive review by pointing out a negative: The combat is bad. Is not good at all. And that might make you hate this game, and refund.

That being said, after you get some better weapons and upgrades, it get a lot better. But it's still the weakest part of the game.

Now for the good things, the art, sound and atmosphere were great. The lore was pretty interesting, and the puzzles were fun. I really enjoyed that the game truly rewards exploration. You always get something worthwhile while exploring. From upgrade materials, to new equipment. And the equipment is horizontal. Some weapons have specific advantages against certain types of enemies. I also liked that you can only carry a maximum x amount of items, incentivizing you to use the items instead of hoarding.

The game felt a bit rushed on the final act, but overall it was a good experience. At least the pros outweighed the cons.

If you are unsure after reading this, I recommend getting the game on sale.

the ending stairs all the way to the boss even the boss fight was a big F you it felt like... the ending is insane as well (not in a good way) like you gotta be kidding me all this time for this massive drop off in work you put in. When you play something, read something, DO! something, you need a reward at the end and this DEFINITELY without a doubt did not deliver on the reward at the end. Fun in the early stages of the game but in later stages it falls off massively and leaves you with nothing!!....

There was a PS1 game a long time ago called "Thrill Kill". It was so brutal that the publishers decided not to release it, and later a leaked version appeared online.

That exact feeling of playing something disturbing, dirty, disgusting and forbidden is what Labyrinth of the Demon King brought back for me. In a strange way, it even felt cozy, because I was still really young (too young you could say) during the Thrill Kill days.

Gameplay-wise, Labyrinth of the Demon King feels like a mix of Resident Evil with its puzzles, a dungeon crawler with tight labyrinth corridors, and a Souls-like with stamina management in combat.

The combat system feels heavy and sluggish, especially early on when you are still low level. Once you find the Naginata, things become noticeably easier.

This game lives and breathes atmosphere. It feels like a surreal nightmare in the best possible way. I do not want to go into too much detail, but the final staircase was so weird that my wife, who was watching, thought it was a bug. I absolutely loved that moment.

- Interesting gameplay, very tank style and old playstation feel
- The mechanics work well for the game
- Very souls like upgrade and cycle style of game for the NG+
- ancient PS graphics which can be nostalgic
-Enemy type are nice variety
- Story presented with nuance and does make you think about the characters

Dislikes:
- one certain enemy type feels like lazy "spooky" role only not much to contribute to the game lorewise or combat wise
- Certain aspects of character inventory cant be upgraded which seems like a big miss
- one specific tower very much feels like a fetch quest and very repetitive
- game can feel too long on first playthrough due to certain enemy mechanic when you don't know about it, the same enemy mentioned on the first part

Love the story
I really love the story telling how your character is related to the other hell wardens and the explanation of the cycle in NG+. The kappa and bakeneko characters are lovable and interesting. The game does a great job with working on their theme of karma and depicting the types of hell. In a way, it makes sense how the MC revives on the "REVIVE, REVIVE" call which they point out when you get to the top of the Tower of No Interval. The scrolls describing the Hells are interesting, makes sense with what I understand the interpretation of Buddhist hells which is brutal and well presented. The grimey PS graphics helps put an image of everything is dirty, hellish and corrupted which suits it well.

NG+ replayability
However, I will say that after finishing NG+ twice, I will say the game is only has story replayability for only those two. The third is purely gameplay. My interpretation of the story is, our MC is actually the fourth warden or has taken over the role of the fourth warden after killing our general (which explains why we have the blue coin when spawn). And the placement of the Hell of Repetition note at the end was chefs kiss. The small details including the revive, revive part is so beautifully done I like it. Truly enjoyed the game.

Major dislike point
The thing I HATE the most is the nobotoke (I hope spelled right). I feel like it's only there as an annoyance mechanic. Story wise yeah it makes sense why he's there but he ruins the opportunities to absorb the atmosphere of the other towers because I sealed him all the way at the end right before facing the demon king.

Labyrinth Of The Demon King foi uma das melhores experiencias que já tive com um jogo, por mais de ser um jogo relativamente curto, entregou mais doque eu esperava, a gameplay e extremamente boa, e até um pouco confusa (mas de um jeito bom), me lembrando minhas primeiras impressões com Dark Souls 3, que hoje e meu jogo favorito, e de tanto que eu gostei desse jogo vou fazer uma pequena avaliação de alguns tópicos do jogo (Alguns spoilers)

Historia: 10/10 Ela e contada por meio de cartas, npc, ou com o próprio cenário e vc vai descobrindo mais sobre esse mundo bizarro enquanto explora, oque e ótimo, pois recompensa jogadores curiosos

Ambientação: 10/10 O Dev desse jogo mandou bem pra caramba com o clima do jogo, um mundo distorcido, mas que ainda sim mantem partes de seu passado, fora as referencias a cultura e mitologia que me deixaram encantado, o clima de suspense e medo no ar me prenderam no jogo, e eu não paro de pensar re-jogar para ver se perdi algum segredo ou algo assim

Exploração: 9/10 Ela e meio confusa de começo mas com o tempo certo vc aprende, e o backtrack e meio chato as vezes, esse vai e volta faz parecer que eu estava em um Metroidvania, mas de resto a exploração e divertida

Combate: 10/10 É o clássico feijão com arroz, bate, desvia e bloqueia, mas mesmo com algo Básico o jogo acerta, muitas vezes eu ficava surpreso com o quão fluido o combate é, e como cada inimigo tinha seu jeito de ser derrotado

IA: 7/10 Os inimigos são um pouco burrinhos, tipo no meio do combate, eles vão até um canto e se esconde pra tentar te pegar de surpresa, o foda e que se viu ele indo todo pimposo pro lugar, oque me tirou algumas risadinhas, a e algo que você vai ver bastante e eles ficando presos em alguns lugares

Armas: 11/10 Essa é com certeza, a minha parte favorita, cada arma tem sua identidade, e seu estilo de gameplay, eu por exemplo, sempre fui de usar armas pesadas, e fui atendido com armas muito fodas, as armas tem tipos de dano, status, combos e estratégia que devem ser analisadas com calma para se encaixar no ritmo de cada inimigo, além de existirem algumas armas a longa distancia, que são fortes pra caralho

Bosses: 8/10 Eles não são tão complexos, tipo da pra solar todos com facilidade com um arco e uns tapas, ou se você usar o rifle ai eles são deletados, eu só joguei com armas de corpo a corpo e tive um pouco de dificuldade, mas nada demais, pois os padrões não são complexos. Resumindo: eles não são ruins, mais também poderia ser melhores

Resumindo, jogue e muito bom, por mais de ser "curto", ele entrega muito conteúdo, e ainda está recebendo atualizações, então coisas novas podem chegar <3

(spoiler daqui pra frente): então se não jogou não veja, ou veja, não posso fazer muita coisa (-_-)

Rejogabilidade: 9/10 Quando você zera o jogo pela primeira vez você libera um Ng+, que te da novas armas (incluindo um Katana do luar azul, que faz referencia a Moonlight da série souls, que como um grande fã de Dark souls devo admitir que fiquei muito feliz), novos inimigos e até diálogo novos, além de ter descoberto que no "New game plus" tem como liberar um boss secreto, que caso derrotado te da uma armadura muito foda e um ESPINGARDA que eu acho que não preciso dizer que é forte pra caralho

Several times, when I didn't feel like playing anything, I booted this up anyways and the atmosphere drew me in so much, i ended up playing several hours, every time.

The game looks like an old game and it plays like an old game, in the best way.
It's not difficult, and when you do die, it's not very punishing.
But exploration is rewarding, even if the levels are a bit samey.
It's not very long, it took me 9 hours for one run, but I'll be finishing it several times, and It looks like the game rewards players who go through NG+ with all new content.

An interesting mix of 3D dungeon crawling and horror much in the vein of King's Field and Silent Hill. While the dungeon crawling part is a bit half baked, the horror is top-notch. The game plays quick enough that the underwhelming level design never has time to overstay its welcome. Instead, I'm left with some very weird memories of wet chicken slapping together while I watch a grainy cutscene.

This is the kind of game every true horror fan is looking for.

Everything feels horrible, gives you a dreadful feeling, and makes you turn around at every corner.
The PS1-style graphics further the impression of death and decay surrounding you.
The ambiance and "music" make it so that every save point is a benediction and the tea room a peaceful heaven that you wish you never had to quit...

I have nothing bad to say about this game except maybe that it's a bit too short and the last tower was disappointing in my opinion, but other than that, this was masterfully well executed. And on top of that, there is replayability thanks to an interesting NG+.

If you're rebutted by the graphics, you are a dumbass! Try this for crying out loud, and feel a true horror for once instead of launching your RE8 garbage.

Not nearly as difficult or scary as I was told (I only died once on my first playthrough and it was to the first boss) but truly a wonderful experience. If you see anyone complaining about mobs respawning you can safely ignore them as they clearly did not reach the end of the game where this is not only explained in game but justified. There are more than enough healing items and this game rewards pattern recognition and exploration greatly. An excellent homage to King's Field, especially when you play NG+. For the full experience you should at least play NG+2 for a total of three playthroughs. I will say there was one moment that legit made me jump and of course it was related to a very unexpected Nuribotoke. All I'll say is just because he didn't spawn somewhere, especially for a long time, does not mean he can't. The game gives you everything you need and some of the puzzles appear to be much more cryptic than they really are. Remember to pay attention to any texts you find and check the notes if you're stuck, as often times this is enough to help you keep moving forward.

Immersive horror experience.

Atmosphere, sound design, music and art style really amplify the terror they are trying to convey.
The game prefers those moments rather than jumpscares. Combat is slow, yet satisfying once you understand of how it works. It has a small yet gripping lore shown through the scrolls you find through the labyrinth which i got invested in.

This game may not be for everyone due to sometimes annoying enemy placement and slow combat, but I believe once you overcome those moments, you'll get a short but fantastic experience with a well-made horror game.

The game has a wonderful atmosphere. The gameplay loop is engaging; combat is enhanced by the plethora of weapons puzzles are not braindead easy nor impossible to solve if you pay attention the layout of the castle is very manageable. The whole thing left me wanting more.

Amazing horror.
Always keeps you on your toes terrified of what might lurk within the defiled interiors. Relief and calm after arriving at the tea house. Good meaningful and symbolic story. Just wish there was a little more of it.

The main problem I have with this game is the combat. It is so awful at the start that I almost quit on floor 1 because of the broken katana. I don't mind the concept, but it taking 10 hits to kill an enemy is crazy.

Became much more bearable when I started just avoiding everything, but when you have to fight it just plan sucks.

Unfortunately the tons of gank and rng enemy spawns made me just give up. The game wants you to mostly run from things, but that's not happening in a small corridor or when you're flanked.

Great game! Went through 3 playthroughs just trying to get everything done and use different weapons. I will say once you get to the 3 playthrough runnnig through punching the ♥♥♥♥ out of everything with the knuckles is really fun. Solid level design, good puzzles, cool cinematics for each boss. Worth a try for anyone interested

I just finished the game, i think overall it is a pretty interesting game and the horror ambient strikes really good here, but i am being generous when i tell you the combat is half assed, its boring, slow and too repetitive, basically its all about parry-hit-parry-hit-parry several times and can take a lot of time to kill a single enemy, the combat is just so bad it looks like the dev just wanted to copy it from an old game and make it a retro slop niche feature to attract more players or something.

The story and lore is pretty good tho, the exploration and the map design is really good as well, nevertheless i wouldnt spend 10 bucks on this game.

If you enjoy Kings Field style games, Soulslikes, Resident Evil, or any combination of the above this is a must play. The atmosphere of the game is sublime with a bunch of lore and build up to big moments. It's not an RPG but there's a lot of variety in builds to play how you want. The combat can be a little janky at times but does well at striking that balance of feeling vulnerable but not so much so that you feel like you have no control over the game. There's also some jank in enemy AI which takes you out of the atmosphere a little bit but otherwise this game is incredible.

Orta çağ Japonyasındayız (muhtemelen sengoku dönemi olduğunu tahmin ediyorum) Lordumuza ihanet ederek ölümüne neden olan bir şeytanın (oni maskeli bir savaş lordu) intikam için peşine düşüyoruz. İsminden de anladığımız üzere bu şeytan lordunun labirentindeyiz. Hayatta kalarak ona ulaşmamız lazım. Bölüm dizaynı inanılmaz iyi olan bu labirentte kısıtlı can ve stamina kaynaklarıyla ilerlemeye çalışıyoruz. Başta karışık gelmese bile ilerledikçe yolumuzu bulmak zorlaşıyor, kaç defa aynı yollardan geçtim saymadım bile. Eğer zamanında King's Field deneyimlemiş biriyseniz ne demek istediğimi daha iyi anlayacaksınız, oyun size şunu yapıcaksınız demiyor (birkaç yer hariç) çoğu şeyi sizin deneyerek arıştırarak bulmanız lazım. Zindanlarda çokça zorlu moblarla uğraşacaksınız bazen neden veya nasıl öldüğünüzü bile anlamayacaksınız. Japonya konsepti ile süslenmiş bu harika atmosferi bir de PSX grafikleri ile birlikte gerilerek oynayacaksınız (birçok yerde yerimden sıçradım diyebilirim). Özellikle günümüzde her oyunun soulsvari olması canımı sıksa da bu oyundaki souls mantığı (boss öldürerek oyuna devam etme olayı) çok canımı sıkmadı. Boss savaşları kısa sürese de zevkli, silah kullanmak kombat zevkli ve silah çeşitliliği de oldukça tatmin edici. Oyun ilerledikçe gelişme mantığını da sevdim sizi çok güçsüz hissettirmiyor. Bitirmek için uğraşsam da bittiğinde üzüldüm biraz daha uzun olmasını isterdim. Eğer indie fps dungeon crawler seviyorsanız, hayatta kalma hayranıysanız ve King's Field, Souls seviyorsanız bu retro deneyimi asla kaçırmayın.

If you like games dripping with a thick dark atmosphere that feel mysterious and confusing and have slow paced high tension gameplay this is worth it.

Labyrinth Of The Demon King has a very thick, gritty, grotesque atmosphere, muddy visuals, visceral sound design all sell how bad things are in this realm. The world feels soaked in anguish, mindless violence and yet still moments of quite comfort. Warped in PS1 style retro graphics, along with a lot of "retro" game design choices, it fully embraces the retro feel, maybe a bit much at times leaving it feeling a tad clunky, but in an acquired taste sort of way.
It has a handful of interesting puzzles for you to solve while getting lost in the aptly named labyrinthine world design, lots of locked and stuck doors, blocked paths to mentally note and try to find your way around and items just out of reach. You'll be slowly creeping through the dilapidated structure gating healing supplies, weapons and currency to trade with some shady merchants.
Labyrinth Of The Demon King is however a fairly short experience, I thought I was only maybe 2/3rds of the way through the game when I got to the final boss, I do wish there was a little more to explore, a few more puzzles to solve maybe just one more zone to go through would have been nice, I wanted to open a few more of those doors, satisfy my curiosity a little more. There's a NG+ and an interesting sword upgrade system, and some item use choice that makes me want to do some additional playthroughs, so it's not necessarily a one and done game either.

Gone through this game up till New Game+3.

This is a difficult game. Its clunky, its combat is hit or miss and doesn't give the best first impressions. Trying to stomp bugs can be annoying due to the context sensitive attack button, same with jumping (which is tied to your dodging too). Some puzzles can be way too tedious and time consuming, and though New Game+ lets you go around a lot of it, it will still take a notable amount of time. Navigation and backtracking the first time will easily have you spinning in the head. Its first impressions is rough and clunky.

But if you can come to terms with its rules, and get over the difficulty curves and the clunky combat, you can get a pretty good atmospheric dungeon crawler. Once you get the hang of combat, it can feel clunky but it has a flow to it that once mastered can feel incredibly satisfying. There is ample amount of healing items and what not available, especially once you get past the first tower. The atmosphere and ambience of this game is well done, and carefully wading through the ruined castle corridors as you hear the ambience around you, waiting for a potential danger, is a really fun experience.

This game may not be the most fun time, but it is a rewarding feeling to get through its challenges every time.

Side note: The skeleton enemies are too damn loud, watch your audio settings. I have no idea what the Blessing Talisman that "quells angry spirits" actually does.

A very fun and atmospheric Kings-Field-like with about 5-10hrs of gameplay (not including bonus stuff in NG+). Suffers a tiny bit from backtracking but it's nothing too egregious. Highly recommend for anybody into all that Souls/Metroidvania stuff, really only wish it were longer.

Labyrinth Of The Demon King is a very strong starting dungeon crawler with a very lackluster end. regardless of that it's over all a very decent game. The sheer variety of weapons, enemies, mechanics, and environments, all shoved into one compact 8 hour experience is expertly crafted. I wouldn't describe it as a particularly scary game, but there are moments you will feel tense at the start getting used to the combat controls. Managing resources feels very rewarding, but I don't recommend thinking too deeply about the crafting mechanic in the menu. From what I can tell you can only actually craft better bandages and those aren't used till late game in one area. As I stated prior there is a massive amount of weapons in the game, my big complaint on that front is that there is only enough upgrading material for you to max out ONE weapon. This wouldn't be an issue if not for the fact that some weapons can't hurt some enemies. Having enough materials to fully upgrade at least two weapons in the base game should have been a given. There are five bosses in the game, all of them are incredibly easy. Most basic enemies will give you a harder time than the story progressing boss encounters. The story also seems to fall off the deep end the closer you get to the conclusion. Regardless of all these points it's still a fun atmospheric dungeon crawler. Would I pay 25.99 CAD for it again? Absolutely not. Would I recommend you pick it up on sale? Absolutely.

Very good dungeon crawler with interesting combat.
Played it through twice and a through the extra stuff at the start of ng++ and it's really awesome how ng+ is incorporated not only into the story but the gameplay experience.
I've noticed a lot of people have trouble with the combat and I think there's 3 important things to learn that you might not catch on to in the tutorial.
1, Parrying is free and doesn't cost stamina 2, kicking staggers enemies and can interrupt attacks 3, how aggressive you play should be determined by how much reach your weapon has

I wasn't expecting this game to intrigue me and immerse me in its thick, dense atmosphere of doom and despair. A great, unique experience influenced by works like Kuon, Forbidden Siren, and SH, of course. The gameplay mimics King's Field and Lunacid, but manages to feel self-sufficient (a tip: the kick is your best friend). As soon as you realize your death has no real penalty, the game starts to open up even further and deliver a great survival horror experience. And to top the experience, the breathtaking soundtrack. Also, great work with noise filters, not everyone can implement them properly. Highly recommend this game if you are a fan of the genre or a genre enjoyer.

This game is truly an indie masterpiece. The aesthetic and atmosphere is amazing, the cutscenes are well done, and I happily read all the lore pieces and notes. I enjoyed the souls like combat and the resident evil style menu. I cannot reccomend this game enough for someone who wants to binge a cool game for a couple days.

Se inspirando na saga King's Field e nos primeiros jogos de Silent Hill Labyrinth Of The Demon king (ou labirinto do rei demónio) e um dos jogos mais atmosféricos e assustadores que já joguei, não costumo jogar muitos jogos de terror porem este me surpreendeu muito, pois não usa jumpscares baratos para causar medo, ao invés disso usando sons, musica e monstros perigosos diversos para causar tensão, a caraterização e uso do folclore japanês são ótimos, sem falar de uma historia muito bem escrita que consegue trazer um terror psicológico e existencial.

Oppressive atmosphere combined with an absolutely hostile OST. The combat is weighty, and fairly satisfying when you get the rhythm right. The game is intentionally labrynthian (who wouldve guessed) and I only found that to be a downside in the bath house, where the backtracking can feel like its just padding game time.

The game is not difficult, death is not punished with loss of progress or items. I only died twice, once from a boss and once from the humble skeleton.

The notes and interpretations on Yokai and eastern folklore/religion are interesting, and if you pay attention really add to the story of the game.

If you care about intentional, passionately made games, this is easily worth your time.

Atmosphere. Atmosphere is everything in this game: its clunky combat, its art direction, its influences (Silent Hill, King's Field): everything aims to enhance that. It either "clicks" you or not. And, at least in my case, it works so well that it's become one of my essential indie games.

This is a magnificent experience to be had. The sort of corrupt Silent Hill vibes in feudal Japan. I had immense fun solving puzzles and learning the combat system. The storytelling can be a little subtle at times, but if you are paying attention to the lore pickups you should be able to tell what is happening.

This was a solid way to spend my evenings. All together it took me 4 nights to be satisfied, including NG+. I can't wait to see more from Hudepohl!

Это игра смешение нескольких игр.

Геймплейно это kings field(первая игра fromsoftware) данжэн кроулер от первого лица, хардкорный, хп и стамина в наличии, хилки ограничены (не восстанавливаются на сейвах) враги ресуются.
Но также стоит добавить что это и своего рода сурвайвл хоррор, есть преследователь, ресурсы ограничены, видимость тоже, хорошая работа со звуком, очео жим жим случается.
Визуально это сайлент хилл в феодальной европе, японские домишки и их убранства украшенные плесенью, кровью и прочей мрачнухой. Графически игра использует графику с PS 1(сравнение с тем же kings field и silent hill еще больше уместно)

Подитожив игру рекомендую как фанатам хорроров так и данжэн кроулеров, либо тем, кто ищет необычный опыт.

very good survival horror, like resident evil 4 and silent hill had a baby behind a buddhist temple. atmosphere is very good and the graphics are superbly styled, the combat is a little hard to get used to but once you get the knack for it the game becomes a piece of cake. the soundtrack is very good as well easily making me uncomfortable but i have a soft spot for horror ambience. oh and one more thing, the fact that some enemies hide around corners to suckerpunch you when you get close is very cool to me.

Határozottan ajánlom mindenkinek aki szereti a nyomasztó atmoszférát egy kicsit Resident Evilre és Silent Hillre hajazó játékelemekkel fűszerezve. A storytól nem kell nagy dolgot várni de bőven elég érdekes ahoz hogy vigyen előre egy kis konkrétan ki nem mondott de ha figyelsz érthető csavarral a vége felé. A játékmenet/combat az viszont zseniális az elején kicsit nehéz és idegesítő de ha kicsit megszokod és fejlődsz a staminára akkor már nagyon élvezhető. A játék a végéig fentudja tartani a nyomasztó kicsit már már paranoiás atmoszféráját úgy hogy sosem fogod biztonságban érezni magad. Plusz pozitívum hogy a new game+ tól jönnek be újdonságok szóval nem teljesen ugyan azt csinálod mint első végigjátszáskor, valamint a storyba is beépül, ezért hatalmas pacsi a készítőknek! Egy zavaró dolgot találtam de az is ilyen apróság hogy lehetne egy picit magasabb a nálad lévő cuccok száma ezen kívül minden rendben volt.
