A squad-based shooter centering around the uneasy alliance between ex-military mercenary Adam 'Kane' Marcus and the psychopathic James Lynch.
The game opens with a voiceover of Adam 'Kane' Marcus, reading a letter addressed to his daughter Jenny. Kane is traveling to death row after being convicted of manslaughter. Another death row inmate, James Seth Lynch, lets on there will be a breakout. Their truck is involved in a head-on collision by a group of mercenaries. The two are taken to a construction site, where they are confronted by four members of a gang of criminals called The 7, led by The Brothers and their henchmen Carlos (a close friend of Kane) and Mute. They accuse Kane of stealing money from them, and reveal that they have taken his wife and daughter hostage. Kane is given three weeks to retrieve the money or his wife and daughter will be killed.

Ah, Kane & Lynch. The once over‑hyped, “promising and unique” project I knew about back in the day but never actually played until now, 2026. And wow… this game did not age well.
The Good (well… “okay”)
The core idea behind the story is decent. You can tell the devs wanted to build something gritty, emotional, maybe even psychological.
There are glimpses of what could’ve been a genuinely interesting narrative with complex characters.
The Not‑So‑Good
Graphically and mechanically, the game feels ancient.
Shooting is rough for a good half of the campaign. The ballistic spread is absurd.
Dialogue feels like it was written by a bored 10‑year‑old.
The story has zero direction. Great concept, no execution.
AI is painfully dumb.
Level and location choices are… strange, to put it politely.
The Verdict
Kane & Lynch had a lot of potential. It could’ve been a gritty, emotional crime story with depth. Instead, it’s a blunt, repetitive shooter with an uninteresting plot and clumsy gameplay.

I love this series and still have hopium for a third entry. Feels raw and yes it is rough around the edges but the game has soul. Idc what people say these games are fun, hectic, shocking, sad, and downright insane. I play these games about every few months or so and it’s usually a blast. Still want to try it with friends one day.
I love this classic. One of my favourites and I try to revisit it every now and then.
You can get it running by downloading a dll file that bypasses the GFWL requirement though it unfortunately breaks multiplayer for obvious reasons. - not that there’s enough people playing it anymore anyway.
I will change this review to recommend if the game is ever “fixed” and relisted, no longer requiring the GFWL connectivity because it’s available on GOG without it and yet not here on Steam.
game runs great once it starts working, seems like streaming on discord or really closing the game. 0 saves. so this is a play and finish game cause I wont bother myself fixing files to make it work. g2a sells copies of this. but if you do decide to play it, finish it. Heard it was 4-6 hours depending on how you play.

The Kane and Lynch series is one of the most misunderstood in all of gaming. A gritty tale of two terrible and brutal criminals fight for a chance at redemption after being forced to face the many consequences to their past actions. Not many games, especially from this era, can instill so much dread in the player. Every mission ends in a trail of bodies, and you're left looking around wondering what it was all really for. You feel like you are perpetually digging yourself into a deeper hole until the very end. Visually, the game still holds up in many respects! The gameplay is just some generic third person shooter, but it feels quite good. The set pieces are pretty epic. There's way more to love here than most people give credit. 10/10

Игра запомнилась неплохой, но очень короткой. Так оно по сути и есть: в игре не хватило нормальной полировки сюжетной линии и персонажей. Также хочу отдельно отметить отвратительную русскую озвучку, которая руинит и так слабый сюжет. По факту имеем боевик категории Б, которых в свое время в кино было полно. Советую только тем, кто когда-то давно её проходил и захотел вернуться ради ностальгии. Всем остальным не советую вообще трогать эту игру. Игра с потенциалом, который, к сожалению, уже никогда не будет раскрыт.

At least the first game felt better than the sequel. I played it before and enjoyed it quite a lot. The second time I decided to complete it, I accidentally picked the hardest difficulty and somehow still made it to the end. But damn are the military sections redundant and out of place.

Прошел когда-то демку запоем на PS3. Разрушаемость интерьеров просто сносила крышу, жестокие перестрелки, недурственная графика... На диск жаба задушила раскошелиться, позже на распродаже за копье взял в коллекцию. Чтоб не играть. Да.
"Пора закрыть гештальт" - сказал я себе. И скачал.
Игра начинается со стильного ролика и переходит в бодрое начало. Конец первой мисии выдался несколько сумбурным. Далее миссии пролетели со скоростью света и внезапно закончились титрами 0_0
Разрушаемость впечатляет и сегодня, более всего она заметна на богато оформленном уровне из демки - офисе японской компании в небоскребе - прямо как смачном боевике после конкретного замеса. И еще в игре можно разбивать лампы и светильники. Хотя это ни как не влияет на геймплей, но как же круто.
В игре я ожидал, что между наемниками будет больше противоречий, разборок как у Гая Ричи... Увы, напарник чаще сам с собой беседует, чем с нами(у него есть уважительная причина, но все же).

this is the best tragic narrative in a videogame and far surpasses any other 7th gen crime shooter, kane and lynch are both brilliantly written and acted, the way they show with each level how kane gets more impulsive and reckless and goes as far as willing to betray everyone just to save his daughter is great and sets itself apart from any other protagonist of its genre, the final scene where he can't cope with his daughter's death is 10/10

I'm a huge fan of the second game, but this wasn't it. This plays like a early clunky 360 piece of ♥♥♥♥, it tries too hard to reimagine Heat whilst having no passion and just pure pleasure out of nostalgia, but aesthetically it might be one of the most compelling games made.

Pretty good classic, but man what a depressing story. Reminds me of Manhunt. Pretty good for it's time though.
One of my favorites! A shame its dead. However there is an active discord and people still want to play sometimes. I've played a few games of cops and robbers with some people. Wish they would update it and make it easier for casual pc gamers to launch and play it. Unfortunately the game has been review bombed by frustrated people that either think the game is broken or they just cant figure out how to get it to work. I believe a community can grow again. Так или иначе, я не ожидал такого сюжета и подачи от казалось бы посредственного проекта. Кинематографичность на высшем уровне, постоянные перестрелки и взаимодействие с напарниками.
Однако, без минусов не обошлось. Проблему с GFWL в счёт не беру, так как исправляется она очень просто, а именно добавлением пару файлов в папку с игрой. А вот что неприятно : интеллект этих самых напарников, стрельба, случались периодические зависания. Продолжительность игры небольшая, мне пришлось по душе, ибо не успела надоесть.
В целом, достаточно бодрый и уникальный проект тех лет

Об этой игре я знаю очень давно, и знаю я её как легендарный шутер от третьего лица. И, проходя игру, я понимал, почему её таковой считают. Из того, что на поверхности, так это графика: для 2007 года её можно назвать эталонной, ну или как минимум близкой к этому. Даже сейчас, в 2025 году, её не назовёшь какой-то вырвиглазной или супер устаревшей — она вполне смотрится наравне с играми вплоть до 2010–2011 года, а это уже о многом говорит. Можно сказать, она опередила своё время.
Второй момент — это режиссура и постановка. Игра выглядит очень стильно и профессионально, так, как будто бы ты играешь в дорогой голливудский боевик.
На протяжении всей игры у меня было ощущение, что я где-то это уже видел. Не буду делать каких-то заявлений, но мне кажется, что многие разработчики вдохновлялись данной игрой — от каких-то уровней до самих персонажей. Брать тех же главных героев, Кейна и Линча: на протяжении всей игры я видел в них Майкла и Тревора из GTA 5. Кейн — гений преступного мира, для которого ограбление банка — это достаточно повседневное дело, и Линч — псих, убивший свою жену, который без таблеток не может протянуть и дня и каждый раз норовит убить важного заложника. Да и сцена с ограблением небоскрёба очень похожа на ограбление ФСБ в той же GTA 5. Атмосфера и эстетика мне очень напомнили Max Payne 3.
А, проходя эпизод с ночным клубом, я не мог отделаться от ощущения, что играю в Джон Уик: толпы людей, синие лазеры, которые едва освещают большое помещение, и редкие враги с фонарями, которые пытаются выцелить тебя из толпы. Пожалуй, это лучший эпизод в игре, очень интересный с точки зрения постановки, так как данную локацию мы проходим 3 раза в разных условиях. Первый раз — просто идём до офиса директора сквозь толпу, выслушивая бредни Линча. Второй раз — похитив директора, мы идём назад и перестреливаемся с малочисленными врагами, пытаясь увидеть их в толпе паникующих людей. И третий раз — мы возвращаемся через шорткат обратно в кабинет и вынуждены снова идти по этому коридору, но в этот раз все посетители разбежались, и нам предстоит сразиться уже с большим количеством хорошо вооружённых бойцов. Крайне интересный эпизод, который, наверное, и ассоциируется у меня с этой игрой.
И всё это звучит как вполне себе отличная игра. В принципе, первая её половина и вправду отличная, но чем дальше в лес — тем больше дров.
Сюжет, пожалуй, самая слабая часть игры. Он переполнен огромным количеством дыр и несостыковок, а порой и откровенного бреда. Буквально в начале игры главные герои грабят банк, чтобы Кейн вскрыл свою же ячейку, потому что он сбежал из тюрьмы и у него не было документов. Зато на следующий день персонажи уже находятся в Японии (да, документы им уже были не нужны для этого), устроили хаос в ночном клубе, похитили человека — и назад в Америку, делов-то. А потом вообще нас закидывает в Венесуэлу, где идёт гражданская война… (да, вот такой вот резкий и непонятно чем обоснованный переход от ограбления небоскрёба в джунгли Венесуэлы). И босс-вертолёт в наличии — куда уж игре начала 2000-х без босса-вертолёта. И уровень в джунглях в стиле Рэмбо имеется — куда уж игре начала 2000-х без уровня в джунглях.
И резкость не только в странном повороте сюжета, но и в смене качества игры: первая половина игры кажется новаторской, интересной и стильной… Вторая половина — посредственной, вторичной и скучной.
Как вишенка на торте — стрельба, в шутере от третьего лица, — и в неё неприятно стрелять. По мне, такого вообще быть не должно. При том что в игре достаточно неплохие модели оружия, неплохой арсенал, отличные звуки, даже присутствует достаточно приятная отдача, стрельба не ощущается дубовой… и может даже показаться, что я её пытаюсь сейчас похвалить… так бы и было, если бы не разброс, который сделали настолько большим, что единственный способ попадать — это всегда сближать дистанцию до минимально возможного расстояния. Ты буквально дальше 5–10 метров ни во что не попадёшь. И так и выходит, что в игре есть один ствол, у которого более-менее всё норм, и ты только с ним и ходишь, всё остальное — просто мусор. Этот небольшой, казалось бы, момент, который к тому же очень легко отрегулировать, перечёркивает вообще всё удовольствие от стрельбы. На протяжении всего прохождения я не понимал: неужели это не тестировали? Неужели до выхода игры никто не заметил слона в посудной лавке? Как это дошло до релиза — я просто не понимаю!
За всё время я около 5 раз начинал проходить эту игру, и каждый раз я её забрасывал на миссии в Венесуэле. В моей памяти она всегда была великой игрой, каждый уровень в ней мне запомнился. Режиссура и стиль игры действительно заслужили, чтобы как можно большее количество людей с этим ознакомилось. Но то количество минусов всегда перевешивало и не давало мне дойти до конца. Можно простить игре, если в неё скучно играть, но интересно следить за сюжетом. Можно простить игре унылый сюжет, если в неё интересно играть. Но тут как раз тот случай, когда в игру неприятно играть, в этот сюжет ты просто не веришь — настолько бреда налепили.
Сегодня я всё-таки её прошёл. Поставил цель — закрыть гештальт. Прошёл игру за 3.5 часа (в среднем прохождение занимает 4–5; я же прошёл быстрее, так как неплохо знаю локации и можно сказать, спидранил), и, конечно, я не жалею о потраченном времени. Оно точно стоило того, чтобы поставить себе эту галочку, тем более что, в принципе, первые 1.5–2 часа прошли больше с удовольствием, чем с негативом.

I can see why both of them started losing their hair. The stress alone from the gun fights makes you feel like you are actually being shot at. An absolute classic and in need of a remaster, same with Dog Days
The last level is a bit annoying, but it's fine. After adding mods to fix the game of course. A bit short tough.

Оглядываясь в прошлое, когда впервые опробовал этот экшен с мрачным сюжетом и убойными перестрелками, я был в восторге. Казалось, что лучше уже не будет, ведь не было никакой тягомотины, никаких двойных подтекстов в сюжете и тем более прокачки - в общем ничего лишнего.
Игра проходилась примерно часов за 5-6, не надоедала и этого хватало. Из инновационного мне казалось интересным система с напарниками, которым, вроде бы (не уверен по старой памяти), можно было давать указания и была удобная система укрытий, благодаря которой можно в лёгкую было пройти игру на сложном уровне. Графика также была для своего времени хороша.
Сейчас же игра уже не кажется какой-то выдающейся, но все же хотел бы увидеть ремастер и вспомнить молодость. Проходить сейчас в стиме невозможно без фиксов из-за удалённого ныне сервиса Games for Windows Live.

The imperfections of the characters like the balding hair and the scars gives the characters a unique look. Which is nice.

Как то оно получше в моей памяти выглядело.
Состарилась игра так себе. Стрельба ужасная. (Сразу видно авторы Хитмена делали).
Технические проблемы. Дурацкий Геймс фор виндоус лайф.
Зато сюжет, атмосфера и персонажи все ещё тащат. Действительно жесткая, бескомпромиссная история где положительных персонажей нет совсем. Даже условно положительных.
А обе концовки являются плохими.
Такого сейчас пожалуй не встретить.
Первая половина игры супер бодрая. Постоянно меняются локации и ситуации, ну а вторая, начинающаяся в Гаване, все такая же унылая и душная как и 18 лет назад.
Я бы порекомендовал попробовать игру ради сюжета, даже не смотря на недостатки, но как можно увидеть на её странице, издатель "временно" приостановил продажу этой игры, чтобы "внести важные изменения".
Думаю тут как раз речь о том чтобы вырезать наxер Геймс фор видоус лайф, что было бы хорошей новостью, если бы эта плашка не висела на этой странице уже лет 5, если не больше.

Плюсы: неплохая графика, мрачный сюжет, нормальная сложность, много интересных локаций
Минусы: хитбоксы персонажей не всегда совпадают с текстурами, не самый лучший звук (особенно оружия)

really good game, it feels like your playing in a movie, but its a game. Although there are some balance issues with the weapons, with the M4A1 clearly the best gun at the end of the game, just because all the enemys drop it.

Требует установку и работу с Games for Windows Live ( GFWL ), без него не запустится. Как только Вы зарегистрировали и установили GFWL, всё заработет. По умолчанию GFWL устанавливается из своего пакета игры, затем Вы его не найдёте, не пугайтесь. :D: Советую обновиться из списка программ в магазине приложений Windows, даже если там не будет обозначено как установленное. Заново устанавливаем GFWL уже стандартно, это чтобы система зацепила старую версию и обновила её записи в реестре системы. Ну и чтобы потом комфортно удалять её из системы если появятся тормоза или конфликты игры, системы, прочего. У меня никаких конфликтов не наблюдалось. Я удалил игру после долгого привыкания к управлению, тормозов системы, и главное Отсутствия точности стрельбы, так как играю с ноута. Так решил, чтобы не слышать шум системника большого корпуса, это просто личное.
Игра крутая и по сей день. Наравне с играми: Варфэйс, Пэйдэй. Только сделана очень давно с не особо хорошей графикой. Но мне понравилось. Мне нужен был драйв в играх, а не красивости, на момент настроения. Сюжет игры сделан добротно. Купил на распродаже по большой скидке. Полная стоимость не рекомендуется, так как много косяков в игре, так например персонажи постоянно стреляют мимо цели словно у них не нарезное боевое оружие а гладкоствольное... :D: Это кстати сильно может повеселить Вашу компанию, если Вы будете играть толпой. Ну и соответственно словить внезапный позор и подгорание очка. :D:
Оценка игры: 9 из 10, в совокупности.
Категория игры: Взрослая, так как сплошная тюремная и уголовная практика, атмосфера.

Просьба к разработчикам: Пожалуйста доработайте уже вышедшую версию игры, устранив все ошибки и улучшите оптимизацию. Добавте новые скины и разрешения картинок. Та же просьба к модостроителям. Это хитовая игра, у неё огромное будущее если Вы постараетесь.
В 2000х мы были настолько избалованы высококачественными релизами, что что-то подобное воспринималось как «посредственное». Однако сейчас, в условиях плачевного состояния индустрии, эти игры, которые раньше считались посредственными, стали отличными, если смотреть на них через призму 2025 года. Хорошая ли эта игра? Да. В ней много уникальных и интересных моментов, отличные персонажи, неплохая стрельба со скидкой на дату выхода а еще очень.. очень много вещей которые, вероятно, больше никогда не будут показывать в ААА сегменте. Избиение, убийства и пренебрежительное обращение с женщинами, расстрел заложников, гражданского населения. Всё это оправдано, как ни странно, ведь главные герои это буквально бывший наемник и психопат. Игра показывает подобные вещи без лишней инфантилизации и романтизации подобных образов. Всё по взрослому, короче.

лучше бы не играл.. Если игра на максимальной сложности проходится за 5 часов - для меня это многое говорит. И это при том, что основная сложность туда в кривости геймплея.
Прилипания к укрытиям - автоматические. Перезарядка - автоматическая. Бесполезные напарники которые падают на открытом поле, и их надо самому бегать поднимать. ХОТЯ У ТЕБЯ В КОМАНДЕ ЕЩЁ ДВА ЧЕЛИКА МИНИМУМ. (ну может в одном разе из 42 они и поднимут сами)
Разницы между видами оружия - тоже нет. Там есть уровень, где дают пистолет и снайперскую винтовку. Ну и они буквально одинаковые, только у одного есть прицел....
Ну из плюсов - история в целом неплохая. Ну, 2/3. Потом она жестко сворачивает не туда. Ну и герои харизматичные. Слушать их пререкания и то, как они матерятся - кайфово!
Но в остальном, такое мех конечно..
Unfortunately I didn't really like my time with Kane & Lynch. I don't think it's the worst game but it really doesn't stand out as memorable. But despite the decent story the game has elements that simply doesn't feel like a great experience to me.

Crudo, frenetico e breve. Della saga di Kane & Lynch ci sarebbe da parlare per ore.
Il background carismatico e profondamente umano dei protagonisti sporca l'atmosfera del titolo in maniera impareggiabile: Kane e Lynch sono un duo costretto a collaborare, dove il primo deve riscattarsi per le sue azioni passate e il secondo viene usato come cane da guardia data la sua condizione mentale.
Entrambi dovranno farsi strada tra azioni violente e piombo, cooperando in situazioni adrenaliniche in un sistema di gioco TPS e dal game design unico ed estremamente avanti con i tempi.
Vorrei citare l'esperienza in discoteca dove ci nasconderemo dalle guardie in mezzo alla folla per poi usare la calca di gente come scudo, o ancora i cecchini che ci inchioderanno a terra in un solo colpo se non li staneremo velocemente grazie all'interfaccia che ci mostrerà il loro punto di vista.
Come dicevo ci vorrebbero ore per descrivere questo gioco, ma vi garantisco che per quanto breve, Kane & Lynch: Dead Men vi regalerà una delle esperienze ludiche più belle della vostra vita. L'unico aspetto negativo è che gli sviluppatori hanno deciso di interrompere la saga al secondo capitolo.

This is a mixed review game for me. The game has both good and bad to it... most annoyingly very much crashing and bugs that can prevent a player from enjoying a game or even starting it. But if you get it working, this is a pretty fun third-person shooter with very clunky movement and cover mechanics. It wasn't groundbreaking even at the time but there is some dark entertainment owing to the two bastards of men Kane and Lynch. It's very much a game that divides players... personally I found the game mostly a positive experience... my main problem being the very inconsistent cover system. But more of a problem nowadays is getting the game to work at all.
In short, it's a pretty good game if you are lucky enough to get it working. I recommend it on the basis that it works, which is sadly not guaranteed.

Kane paralı bir askerdir, hayatında yemediği halt kalmamış , İdam günü geldiğinde, insanın, ölümün nefesini ensesinde hissetmesi gerekir ancak Kane'in ödü bokuna karışmamıştır. Onu endişelendiren tek şey şey kızının yanında bulunamamaktı ve ona hiçbir zaman iyi bir baba olamamıştı. İşte bu düşünce onu yiyip bitiriyordu. Kusura bakmayın da buraya ördek avlamaya gelmedik beyler, adam vurmaya geldik.
I liked the character dialogue between these two as they attempted to cooperate on their orchestrated violence.

it was nice to play it even as single and maybe as coop its better
if you didnt play this in past i guess no need to try now or regret it
plus i cant make the game work anymore because of GFWL but maybe there is some fix
there is second part of the game so i hope i enjoy it as much as i did with this .
É um bom jogo, com uma história interessante, mas pra um jogo lançado em 2007 é bem fraquinho, se vc já jogou o primeiro Hitman vc pode perceber muitas semelhanças na gameplay (ainda mais se vc jogou Hitman como um jogo de ação e não de Stealth) pois são da mesma desenvolvedora, estou jogando em 2025, mas achei o jogo muito curto, eu virei ele em pouco mais de 4 horas na dificuldade mais difícil (Morphine senão me engano) os gráficos eram bons na época, infelizmente não pude jogar o modo co-op, mas acredito q deixe o jogo mais interessante, os personagens são legais e vc consegue ter a imersão de um cara que está disposto a tudo pra salvar a família e se vingar, vi alguns comentários aqui falando que é um dos melhores jogos já feitos, mas discordo totalmente, e sei q muito disso é por conta da nostalgia, Kane & Lynch é um bom jogo, mas está longe de ser um dos melhores jogos já feitos, vale a pena seu tempo, mas talvez não o seu dinheiro.
I know this game is old but still I have played older games which are far better than this one. It is just chaos. Shooting feels bad, movement is also bad. I really think that this game should be made free because it is not worth even a penny right now.

Нормальный такой боевичок своего времени на пару вечеров зайдет, жаль что мультилеер не рабочий. Сейчас не хватает таких игр про двух антагонистов, в плане запуска на win 10 нету не каких проблем. Миссия в Токио в ночном клубе очень эпичная.

因为一直在库存中，我又玩过二代，因此一直想补上初代。现在终于找到时间通关，补完了这个短暂的系列。这部作品十分矛盾，一方面包含了很多超出一般TPS的丰富特性，配音和演出出色，关卡丰富，西装暴徒看起来很酷；另一方面又有着掩体、枪械射击、手感、声音等方面的缺陷，游玩重复度高，故事跳脱、暴力、压抑，且前后割裂。单看其中一个方面都会得到两极化的评价，不过，本游戏的很多特色似乎被多年后的GTAV所借鉴。比如抢银行等城市关卡，把麻醉气体扔通风口，还有崔佛和林奇之间在精神失控、战斗力惊人多方面的相似性。我两种难度通篇打下来的感觉还是不错的，略显平庸，但并不是烂作，依旧是水准之上的作品，值得一玩。

本作虽然是个TPS犯罪射击游戏，但特性十分丰富。可单人游玩，可双人分屏合作，还有多人抢劫模式（早就找不到人了）。射击时有当时流行的掩体系统，武器数目不算少。有队友指挥系统，最多能带四位队友一起行动，还有更多的援兵，有时能领着一大批队伍行动。游戏中可以给队友提供或交换武器，能从队友那里拿子弹，倒地后，还可以互相打药营救。
游戏的物理效果还算不错，破坏效果在当时算得上惊艳。掩体、墙壁等的表面都能破坏，墙皮掉的就像《黑客帝国》大厦入口的那场战斗一样，此外雕塑、展示柜、瞭望塔也能被完全破坏。有一关里我们要通过玻璃屋顶，可以打碎敌人脚下的玻璃让他们摔死。打中敌人的时候身上的对应部位有枪眼，《马克思佩恩3》中的这个系统曾给我留下过很深的印象。到后期游戏画风突变，古巴那部分看起来像是《使命召唤7：黑色行动》，开始跟军队作战，可以用固定机枪和RPG打BTR、直升机、瞭望塔和大飞机。
游戏内关卡丰富度高，前面像城市犯罪，后面像战争游戏，过程中有好几场追逐射击，还有BOSS战。可在高处索降，日本大厦顶的那段的远景相当不错。敌军中有狙击手时，会出现敌人视角，同时还能显示队友倒地。有潜行关卡，可以近战处决。游戏内同屏角色数量惊人，日本夜总会那关能同时显示几百个NPC，这在育碧可是会被宣传为游戏巨大特色的。
游戏的部分过场动画精心设计过，特别是光影，很有电影感。有些关卡让人一看就想起迈克尔·曼导演的电影，特别是《盗火线》和《借刀杀人》，十分还原。配音也很棒，特别是凯恩和林奇两位主角，配音真的抓住了两人性格的精髓，听他俩互相骂来骂去的竟然也很有意思。有时候游戏台词会出现在屏幕正中，氛围营造的不错。关卡内的文戏相对很少，关卡之间常缺乏过渡，常常一上来就把你直接扔进一个最激烈的场景中，5小时左右的流程十分紧凑，几乎是从头杀到尾。
[h2]问题多多[/h2]
游戏最大的问题来自于掩体和射击部分。掩体采用自动吸附设计，无法手动控制，但实际玩起来根本不好用。要不进不了掩体，要不在掩体中子弹被挡住，而且掩体内无法保证安全，可能会被压制直至打死。枪械子弹弥散很大，无法指哪打哪，难以精确射击。在掩体中对抗另一个掩体中敌人时，敌人露头，即使瞄准敌人，打光一个弹夹也可能打不中敌人一枪，让人恼火。我之所以能顺利通关，在于游戏内糟糕的AI，他们不善利用掩体，给了我轻易杀死他们的机会。
小队虽然可以指挥，但只能一个个下命令。为了防止到了关卡末尾因为少个人无法继续，让所有人待在身边才是玩家的最佳选择。游戏内按下空格能冲刺，但是速度几乎没什么变化，而且持续时间很短。只能携带一把手枪和一把长武器，由于手枪使用频率很低，也就意味着只能拿一把枪，想换枪就只能拣地上或者换队友的，很不方便，枪声也很枯燥。关卡之间的过场没有任何画面，仅有语音。每个关卡的文戏都不多，战斗十分密集，但相应的重复性也挺高，打到后期只盼着早点结束。整体感觉还需要几个月的打磨，仍然还有粗糙之感。
游戏的暴力程度很高，不仅在于对抗敌人中有很多警察，而且警察里有女性。常常看到倒地的女警尸体，感到自己是个畜生。更严重的是，本作里能够随意射杀平民，而且没有任何后果，甚至感觉有些时候游戏鼓励你杀死普通人。因为他们常常挡在你和目标之间，甚至穿着都和敌人差不多，难以分清，这在日本关卡尤为突出。敌人倒地后有时会在原地呻吟，你可以再补一枪。
[h2]血与泪：两位亡命之徒的炼狱之旅[/h2]
两位主角的塑造十分鲜明，他们不是英雄，是彻头彻尾的罪犯，手下人命无数。俩人之间没有什么兄弟感情，纯粹是利用关系，互相大喊大叫，不是飙脏话，就是埋怨和咒骂。整个流程中难说有什么轻松时刻，氛围压抑、折磨，充满残忍和痛苦。
凯恩是个佣兵，跟家人分离14年，直到入狱被判死刑时，才终于悔恨不已。他为自己没能照顾家庭而痛苦，本打算在执行死刑前给女儿留封信表达歉意。凯恩曾是犯罪团伙的某小队唯一活下来的人，因此被组织认为是杀掉队友，独自带走钱的叛徒。因此不惜一切将其救出后，用家人逼其交出公文包。凯恩知道东西在哪里，知道密码，少了一半也知道该去找谁，显然也不是全然无辜。他相对来说很不讲义气，开头雇的俩队友冲进地铁站后连检查都不检查，直接抛弃逃跑。去日本绑架时，不告诉队友要绑的是黑老大的闺女。在古巴也可以选择抛弃包括林奇在内的所有队友，即使前去营救，也会被所营救的人抛弃。
林奇初看起来是个喜欢大喊大叫、直来直去的暴躁之徒，同时又带一点逗逼。不过，他有双重人格，有时会突然失控，然后断片。他曾杀死自己的老婆，在银行关卡干掉所有人质，事后忘了发生什么。让他看住绑架来的黑老大女儿，他把人给打死了，直接导致谈判失败。他跟组织之间有交易，负责看住凯恩，保证他完成任务后，可以取代其位置。在二代中，我印象最深的一句台词就是林奇说的：I'm tried of this sh*t. 本作中也有差不多的两句：I can't take more of this sh*t. Will this sh*t ever ends?
确实，整个故事就像一场醒不了的噩梦，亲人被绑架威胁，任务总是出岔子，被迫绑架别人的女儿，又意外把人杀死。任务失败后，妻子被爆头，女儿吓傻，敌人追杀，一切都变得越来越糟。主角面对这种烂到极点的局面，解决办法则是杀掉一切仇人。闯监狱招人，炸死日本黑老大，用抢来的另一半钱带着雇佣兵追到哈瓦那参与战争，逼死组织成员。深入丛林，瓦解组织军队，即使整个队伍全死光，也要杀至仇人的最后一个。游戏有两种结局：如果抛下林奇和其他队友，直接带女儿逃走，本就痛恨父亲的珍妮会大骂父亲是个胆小鬼和叛徒；如果前去营救队友，会多出一个关卡，救出Shelly后，他会抛下我们直接逃跑。珍妮中枪，似乎凶多吉少，凯恩与林奇坐船逃跑，生死未卜。从二代的故事看，官方选的是第二种结局，凯恩和林奇，包括看似死了的珍妮都活了下来，过了些年平静日子。
[h2]最后的话[/h2]
很多人玩不了本作，原因在于微软曾经的GFWL，在另一个启动选项中安装一下就行。不用非得登录账号，出现时关闭就能正常游玩并存档。游戏分为十六个关卡，最好每次打完一个关卡再退出，重进的话得从关卡开头开始，无法中途继续。本作没有中文，不过文本少而简单，没有太大影响。游戏有三种难度，阿司匹林、可卡因和吗啡，我只建议大家玩前两个，可卡因难度从古巴关卡开始变得十分困难。
该系列是以《杀手》系列成名的IO Interactive制作组为数不多的其他作品，除此之外就是《自由战士》和《迷你忍者》了，后两者还不成系列。该制作组看起来很喜欢亚洲，特别是中日两国。日本就不用说了，《凯恩与林奇2》发生在上海，《杀手》中还有个重庆关卡。另外，还想说一下，游戏内日本地区的黑老大叫RetoMoto，这个名字正是IO Interactive成立时的创始团队名。当时该团队有7个人，也正是幕后组织The7的名字由来。今年他们终于公布了制作许久的《007》系列新作，类型和本系列差不多，希望能一改本作的所有问题，再成就一个大火的系列。
Gentelmen, welcome to Havana! Surprisingly good, despite some jank in gameplay, story is interesting and characters are very well written – I loved how it starts with Lynch seeming more psycho, but ending with Kane being the crazier of the two. Get it on sale (it goes super cheap) if you like team based third person shooters, especially story-heavy ones (Spec Ops, Max Payne, Mass Effect or Binary Domain).
Kane & Lynch is made by Hitman devs IO Interactive, who also made Freedom Fighters, which is kinda similar to this game, but even more retro... I finished this on normal difficulty casually under 10 hours while having to restart some stages a few times but for under a dollar price, the campaign doesn't outstay its welcome... I have not touched the multiplayer, so no review on that.
Dead Men honestly reminds me of Spec Ops: the Line the most, a big-budget, linear, single-player cover shooter with team controls, great setpieces, interactive environment that reacts to your shots... and absolutely unhinged protagonist who till the end stays delusional that he's some kind of hero. EVERYTHING GOES WRONG. Always. It sometimes feels that main characters are surviving despite the odds only because they're cursed to live through more trauma. All of their own doing, mind you!
The only major flaws are the game forcing you into a specific weapon loadout at the start of each mission, bullets hitting poorly, and kind of dumb AI (both enemy and ally). It also has the opposite problem of Mass Effect where instead of your character leaning on cover when you don't want it, here they eften stubbornly refuse to do it when you do. Crouching is very helpful. Thankfully, enemies aren't spongy.
Oh and the last thing, GFWL actually fully works in Windows 10/11 through X-Box app (saves and in-game achievements), warning if you're tryign to play it on retro machine still on Windows 8.1 or 7.

After playing it i can understand the lackluster reviews when this came out. this game makes me kinda sad because of the wasted potential here. The story was the best part of this game and for the first 2/3 of the game its really good, I loved that these characters are terrible people and there is no "hero" in this situation, and the horrible things Kane and Lynch do, the double crossing, the kidnapping of Kane's family, the schizophrenia Lynch has blacking out in a murderous rage. The voice acting and motion capture is incredible making these characters come to life in a convincing way for the tone. The bank heist, the shooting at a night club the bombing of a skyscraper, running through the big open and detailed streets of japan gunning down swat as you get away with the money you robbed. It's such a unique experience of a game. UNTIL in the 3rd act of the game it completely falls apart, out of no where you are in vietnam in war. None of it makes sense, it feel like a fanfiction and worst of all everything you did previously means nothing in the end. They try to reel you back in with Kane's daughter and it was well done, but at that point you are still confused how and why we ended up in a vietnam jungle in the first place, and that ending ruined all the previous excellent narrative writing before it. The gameplay is odd to say the least accuracy is non-existent with any gun in the game, sometimes you will unload a full magazine into a enemy and miss every shot or, you will get a headshot when aiming for the body. There is a squad mechanic that is ok, they do kill enemies sometimes to help you, but unless you command them to follow you they will often run out in the open and get downed constantly and you have to run to revive them. Audio has some issues, sometimes music will not play when its supposed to so you will hear nothing but gunfire and ambient noise sometimes. Its also a growing pain for IO as this game was developed in 18 months, and that's a short amount of time considering, new IP, updating the engine from ps2 to ps3 level and having bigger sized levels than hitman blood money. You can get this game via steam keys pretty easily using gg.deals and overall i'd recommend it. The first 2/3 of the game, if you overlook some gameplay flaws, is an amazing Heat movie experience. Hoping the 2nd game keeps what works and expands apon it

This is a very fun game but it is hard to recommend because it requires a lot of effort on win11 to get working. You will need to search for whatever issue you have. For me it was a weird stutter that required me to download multiple DLLs that eventually fixed it. It stinks! It's such a great game and it should not require this.
If you can make it work without issues then it's a great game to play. But it's hard for me to recommend because of the extra work that you must put in.

Nie wiem, co mnie podkusiło, żeby odpalić Kane & Lynch: Dead Men w 2025 roku. Może to był impuls, może nostalgia, może fakt, że patrząc na dzisiejsze gry, tęsknię za czasami, kiedy bohaterowie gier byli naprawdę popsuci psychicznie, a nie tylko mieli depresję zapisaną w dzienniku postaci.
Graficznie? Prawda jest taka, że gra wygląda jakby ktoś przefiltrował GTA 4 przez ziemniaka i oblał go rozgotowanym sosem z 2007 roku. Ale nie daj się zwieść! W tym pixelowym chaosie kryje się perełka. Trochę jak obdrapany bar z zewnątrz, ale w środku serwują krwawego steka i whisky bez pytań o wiek.
Kane i Lynch psychopatyczne "buddy cop" bez cop
To nie jest historia o bohaterach. Kane to typ, który zgubił gdzieś moralność między jednym skokiem a drugim rozwodem. Facet z przeszłością tak mroczną, że mógłby nią obdzielić całą ekipę "True Detective". Lynch? To nie jest człowiek. To granat z wyciągniętą zawleczką, który nie wie, że już wybuchł. Ma halucynacje, zrywy psychotyczne i morduje ludzi, bo coś mu się ubzdurało. A ty? Ty jesteś zmuszony grać u ich boku i się z tym pogodzić.
Razem tworzą duet, który potrafi zamienić każde miasto w ukraińskie pole walki (bez polityki, bez kontekstu — po prostu chaos, ogień i echo strzałów z każdej strony). Tam, gdzie się pojawią, zostają tylko krzyki, huk i pytanie: "co tu się właśnie wydarzyło?"
Gameplay strzelanie, krzyki i "ja pier... znowu on zabił zakładnika!"
Mechanika strzelania? Cóż… jest. Czasem działa. Czasem przeciwnik dostaje headshota i dalej biegnie, jakby mu muszka spadła z nosa. System osłon jest jak Lynch: raz cię ochroni, raz rzuci na otwartą przestrzeń z miną "co się może stać?". Ale właśnie to daje tej grze smak.
Sytuacje z gatunku: "Zakładnicy? Jak to zastrzeliłeś ich wszystkich, przecież mieliśmy ich wymienić!" albo "Kane, nie mamy już amunicji, ale mam granat i brak skrupułów".
To wszystko sprawia, że czujesz się jak w środku filmu Tarantino, tylko bez montażu i bez ograniczeń wiekowych. Mrocznie, brutalnie, śmiesznie jakby świat gry był jednym wielkim memem o zaburzeniach osobowości i moralności zdegenerowanej do poziomu kałuży po festiwalu zombie.
Fabuła ojciec, bandyta i apokalipsa moralna
Gra udaje, że ma serce. Kane ma córkę. Chce się z nią zobaczyć. Ale wszystko, co robi, wskazuje, że jest raczej bardziej złym ojcem niż złym człowiekiem. A Lynch? On w ogóle nie powinien mieć kontaktu z cywilizacją.
To wszystko prowadzi nas przez Japonię, Amerykę, Amerykę Południową i każdą inną lokację, gdzie jeszcze można coś spieprzyć. A zakończenie? Jest jak ostatni kieliszek po melanżu: gorzkie, krzywe i zostawia cię z pustką i kacem moralnym.
Podsumowanie – "Kane & Lynch: Dead Men" to jak trip po tanim dopalaczu w opuszczonym kinie
Nie jest to gra dla każdego. Nie jest to gra dobra. Ale jest to gra, która ma duszę, nawet jeśli ta dusza śmierdzi tanim whiskey, potem i prochem strzelniczym.
To coś więcej niż shooter. To symulator toksycznej męskości, brudnej zemsty i głupich decyzji, które prowadzą tylko do gorszych decyzji.

Za to, że mimo wszystkich wad, nie da się o niej zapomnieć. Kane i Lynch to jak dwie kleszcze przyczepione do mózgu nie chcesz ich, ale czujesz, że czegoś ci brakuje, jak ich nie ma.

game is very mid in terms of story/campaign. the weapon accuracy is atrocious. super short, took me 3 hours to complete and I died like 20 times (medium difficulty). AI teammates are dumb as hell and run ahead of you just to get downed. If I went back in time to 2007(?) and bought this game, especially at full price... Id be so insulted
This game that raw and gritty feel of the mid-late 00s games. its just a good ole fashion game. nothing more nothing less. i remember going to Hollywood Video and renting this game and playing the hell out of it when it came out. ive always loved this game. the controls suck lol, but the game is still fun. after beating it on console many times. i can re live it again on pc lol. game fun. 2nd game also fun.
I recommend it because it's a pretty unique experience story wise but game play it's pretty cookie cutter. It's half broken and will absolutely frustrate you but I'd also be lying if I said it didn't kind of captivate me.
Kane is a down on his luck father, who just can't seem to get a break! It doesn't help that he owes some old chums a bit of money, but the best part yet: he can't let them know that he has to rob from himself, in order to pay them back. As if things were not bad enough, Kane's watchdog is a medicated psychopath named Lynch. And of course, it would not be a globe-trotting comedy romp without an awkward visit with an ex! Uh oh, let's hope Kane's wife and daughter don't find out! Good thing they are already too busy hanging with Kane's old friends at the nearby construction site.
Kane and Lynch: Dead Men! The promotional material and trailers were top notch, having the presentation and mood of an early Rammstein music video (promotional art of Kane reminds me a lot of Till Lindemann) and the writing of an early Guy Ritchie film, with the flare of HEAT and shooting mechanics about as functional as the helicopter controls from Vice City.
I absolutely adore this game, it is terrible! It has aged horribly in almost every regard. Even when it came out, many of its aspects were subpar, even for Northern Eurojank. It was routinely slapped around by critics, but I knew a lot of people who loved it. In fact, this is the FIRST genuine physical copy of a PC game that I personally bought with my own money. I remember being upset that my rig at the time actually had trouble playing it consistently, which lead to me upgrading into the true 'next gen' experience of the time. It did not help that the PC port of this game is straight up busted.
As of writing this, Square Enix has temporarily delisted the game from sale to make some quality of life improvements. Very likely, this means they are removing the cancerous Games For Windows Live. In order to play this, I used a community guide to download a spoofed xlive file to drop into my director. Luckily, it worked like a charm! However, to counter some weird, periodic stuttering, another guide helped me with disabling certain things via device manager, it worked! Kudos to the oldhead fans that wanted to ensure others got to play this game in complete nostalgia.
This game is rough, in so many ways. A very experimental game from IO Interactive, the Danish developers behind the beloved Hitman: Blood Money and others in the series, it takes places not only in the same universe, but even reuses the same assets, specifically the guns. Several of the levels were patched together from unused Blood Money maps and also a cancelled Freedom Fighters sequel. Another interesting little tidbit is that this was Jesper Kyd's last work with IO Interactive, before he went onto better and greater things, such as the Assassin's Creed II soundtrack and now, the masterful Warhammer 40k Darktide.
But I got to say, the few tracks Jesper Kyd did make for this game are absolutely iconic and his best work by far, the most unique and distinct industrial sound of his era. It helps that some of the tracks build off of stems and beta-songs that were originally composed for Hitman Contracts, that actually might be Jesper Kyd's second best work ever under IO Interactive. In fact, the SWAT encounter song from Contracts is completely remixed and remastered and heavily altered for two scenes in Kane and Lynch. Absolutely love some of the tracks near the end, I hum them to myself on occasion and have used them as soundtracks in early video editing projects in my youth.
Kane and Lynch was also the first 'next gen' multiplayer experience for me, marking the first time I ever bought a microphone. I normally never spoke on other games, but communication was fairly necessary in the innovative multiplayer of Kane and Lynch, with its Cops and Robbers type gameplay and its own traitor system. I still distinctively remember the first time I ever played it, playing on the Havana mission and a guy named "SploodgeCumsAgain" kept betraying us at the end by rolling grenades at our feet just as we were about to get into the van, allowing him to take sizable cuts of dosh for himself.
But the story... the story is honestly fairly underrated. This game, its characters and its dialogue, despite its shortness (as it is a co-op minded game after all) has stuck with me for literally nearly two decades. This was a game I played co-op with religiously with friends and my cousins, we would qoute the characters and adopt their mannerisms and voices. It is weird to think that one of the friends I shared so many core memories with, with this game, is no longer a friend of mine and my oldest cousin, who I co-oped this with many times through, is deceased. Time comes for us all in more than one way. Nothing truly is permanent.
I just love the grit of the characters. The co-op actually alters the game a bit and has mechanics exclusive to Lynch, even though some of them are a bit dissonance to how realistically he is written as a medicated psychopath. But of course, the visual hallucinations for Lynch were given to primarily be fun and interesting, giving player's an incentive to take turns playing as Lynch. Interestingly, the co-op mode has less dialogue and bickering between the two in game (as we are expected to be communicating their dynamic more... dynamically, via voice chat) but Lynch is far more of a peer and almost jolly in mood in co-op, compared to his more aloof and apathetic demeanor in solo. However, this is likely because the co-op, ironically, has developed independently from a different, previous version of the finished game. As a result, the co-op has more jank and some of the issues persisted in the multiplayer. Weirdly enough, single player has some of its own unique little oddities specific to itself.
Having lived in Denmark for three years awhile ago, I was surprised that few Danes knew of the game or even cared, compared to the fame and prestige of the HItman games. Kane and Lynch is interesting in that it is niche, fairly disliked and yet, it really was innovative in its story and its unique engine. Despite not looking, or playing the best, many animations being blatantly done by hand and mouse and keyboard and not mocapped, it still could have an insane amount of NPCs on screen at a time (and with the right lighting effects, can almost convince you briefly that it still holds up to today as a spectacle) as Blood Money did as well. Also, the fact that there is dynamic damage and blood stains, pools and corpses stay almost permanently can really add gravity to large gunfights.
But above all, an anti-action game with plenty of action, based around two retirement-aged boomers well past their prime and peak health, actually works very well for being subversive but still good. These two angry bastards, full of self loathing and hatred and complete apathy for human life except those they selfishly hold close via blood ties or some misguided criminal loyalty, really is spectacular. There is an entire story behind this game we will never get in a prequel, but Kane's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ actions tell us more than enough how much he really deserves half of the bad things that have happened to him. I can also appreciate that almost everything goes insanely wrong for everyone, in every mission, with few exceptions.
Some set pieces and scenarios are straight out of lore, fiction and non-fiction of the pre-GWOT era. Kane and Lynch/Hitman live in a perpetually cursed version of the world where H&K firearms has exclusive contracts with the entire planet as the #1 distributor of guns, but the cops rock soft armour and stab vests half the time. Remarkably, some of the best researched details actually goes into the SWAT units, the variety of cops and corrections officers you kill, as well as surprisingly accurate Tokyo Police. Late game has interesting 90s-core kits and conventional woodland camo/drag loadouts. Kane and friends duke it out in Cuba looking like they just marched out of Bosnia as NATO peacekeepers and fight dudes straight from Richard Marcinko's dreams.

感觉主创或者创意总监应该看了不少诸如落水狗，盗火线，低俗小说之类的黑色幽默+冷酷暴力+西装枪战片
这游戏整体？挺拉的，相当拉，过时的画面，加上屎到稀烂的第三人称枪战体验，加上几乎不带脑子直来直去的剧情发展，放在07年都是卖相屌差的一坨。
但是这游戏有股邪典cult片的劲儿，没有任何温情或者轻松戏份，一直充斥满了两个大男人的互相痛骂和钢铁般冰冷的枪声子弹声，再加上整个游戏调色完全往冷色调靠，莫名其妙就有种两个中年烂人杀出重围的混乱浪漫感。我也是因为这一股调调玩下去的————这游戏让我想到了我非常喜欢的马克思佩恩3.
这个1代只能说，其实日本那一段是我觉得这游戏的高光时刻。虽然射击手感真的很蛋疼，随机弹道真的很司马，但是在东京大街上，几个西装匪徒在车流间跟警视厅对干，很符合我脑子里一直就有的一些现代都市犯罪幻想。
但这段过后只能说确实有点莫名奇妙..........变成雨林和古巴打仗一样，这剧本压根没啥合理性可言么不是.....
要是前后都保持现代城市背景就好了。
这游戏仍然很烂，非常烂，不适合绝大部分人回忆经典。
Havent been able to get this game to launch for over 10 years & still can't. Main characters are similar to Trevor & Michael from GTA, seeing as this came out first I wonder if this is where they got there inspiration
The game plays like a Micheal Bay/Mann action movie. The story is what shines here and game play isn't that bad for 3rd person shooter. 7/10
Среднего уровня боевик на пару вечеров. Уровень графики что-то вроде первого ассасина. Сюжет не вызывает какого-то трепета. Плюс русская озвучка бедная и с неправильными интонациями портит общее впечатление. Как игра от которой ничего особо не ждешь, для пострелять — вполне нормально. Хотя проходить такое в 2025, наверное, не стоит.
