I understand the appeal but there is no risk and the reward is just an "oh, neat looking area." Which is FINE if you could actually save the game. Unfortunately, Jusant does not respect your time. At all.

The biggest risk in the game is wondering whether or not it saved recently when you have to exit out and get dinner. It just warns you that recent progress will be lost. But it does not tell you how recent. The game NEVER tells you when it's saving (hint: It isn't the white icon in the corner like some claim). Then you have to retrace all of those "Oh, neat looking area" places that aren't neat anymore.

A save system would have brought this game to a 7/10 for me. But i'd give it a 4.5/10, that is how much of a detriment that omitting an expected feature can have.

I finished the game and I usually don't get to finish games. A calm, chill game of climbing without too much difficulty, the last chapter of the game was a bit incomprehensible and felt stuck which is a bit annoying but overall a game worth playing even if it is short. Great graphics and music that I would expect to have in the whole game and not just in parts of it. I didn't focus too much on the plot but I think the story is nice and nothing more.

Esse jogo é definitivamente seguro para qualquer mente humana. Relaxante, contemplativo e muito, mais muito bonito!

O jogo é bem fácil (poderia até ser um pouco mais complexo, mas isso não é um defeito), o sistema de escalada funciona bem, é tudo bem responsivo. O tempo de jogatina é curto, e a história se explica com cartas e outros elementos (inclusive tem bastaaaante coisa pra ler), e no final, você reflete sua aventura e qual foi o real motivo dela, eu achei muito bom.

Se você esta procurando um jogo pra relaxar, limpar a alma e ficar de boas, pode ter certeza que Jusant é uma ótima pedida.

This is a "meh" review. So, I also have Cairn and here are the differences between the two (especially if you are like me and are deciding which to play).

What I found in playing Jusant
- Relaxing
- Only one difficulty and it's very easy (think Uncharted but the climbing is a tad bit more deeper as you're tapping trigger buttons that controls left and right hand, and you have stamina)
- You cannot die
- Climbing is a bit dynamic since you can climb and also swing with your rope (again, a la Uncharted)
- Fantastical gameplay elements (helps in challenging the player and shakes things up from being redundant)
- Story is told via lore found in documents (I haven't finished the game yet but no voiced dialogue as protagonist is silent)
- You want to explore and soak in the atmosphere
- You can pretty much imagine yourself as a detective in what happened in the world of Jusant and the Tower
- Linear route to climb
- Invisible walls if you are not tethered
- A HUGE minus is that autosave checkpoints are rather spaced apart and you cannot manually save anywhere. There have been moments where I load into a new area, explore, find where/how to climb, climb, and read (some times very long) documents, and climb again which add up to 30ish minutes. I quit the game thinking I'd start where left off but nope, I load where the game was autosaved which was when I first arrived in the new area. It isn't too bad if you just rush but if you want to explore and take your time, it can be something you think about when you quit the game.

What I found in playing Cairn
- Very difficult/can be fustrating
- You can die (you can choose the difficulty level, even permadeath)
- Multiple routes to climb that differ in difficulty grades
- Survival (you have to manage inventory, hunger, water)
- Grip management (taping and chalk)
- Story is told via voiced cutscenes and recording from your companion bot
- No dedicated jump button, so no dynos aka jumping from one point to another
- You control your 4 limbs, one by one.
- Much less stamina than in Jusant
- Static mountain climbing, no jumping
- Much better save system than Jusant as typically when you finish climbing an area, there's usually a place where you can set up your tent and save the game.
- Main character talks to herself a lot and can get annoying at times, especially when she falls.

Personally, I found that Cairn scratched my itch for a mountain climbing game. Jusant is very beautiful but its world and lore takes center stage while climbing comes in at a close second. 7/10 game.

游戏营造了一种极致的“孤独感”与“禅意”。整座巨塔山上没有活人NPC，只有风声、海浪的回响和自然的白噪音。剧情得自己探索推测，比较花费精力，但很有意思。游戏的故事发生在一个海洋和巨塔山的世界。人类都住在巨塔山上，因为这是唯一的陆地。但有一天海洋消失了。海洋与巨塔山的世界变成了荒漠和巨塔山的世界。人类需要寻找水源，一部分认为要下山深入荒漠找水，一部分人认为水在山顶。但无论在哪，都很难到达。一边是一望无际的荒漠，一边是高耸入云的的巨塔山。从古人类在山中留下的壁画来看，海洋不是第一次消失，而且水在山顶的可能性更大。传说，会有一个吹笛人吹响笛子，让山顶的水化作雨水再次降下，汇成海洋，也有人说其实是吹笛人在下雨时吹笛，表达喜悦而已。玩家将作为吹笛人亲自解开谜题。[spoiler]原来，每当星系中恒星与行星连成一线，会产生巨大的引力，将高空的水蒸气吸附到巨塔山顶，同时太阳直射，海洋蒸发加剧，以此恶性循环，终至所有的水化作山顶的一个巨大水球。这就是这颗行星独特的，有着极大时间尺度的，退潮事件。古人类弄懂了这种现象，并制造了一系列器械，催发巨大水球降下水滴。并将教程刻在山中的壁画上。而启动装置的钥匙，就是笛子。主角再次启动了装置，也会是最后一次。因为这一次装置的启动太晚了......[/spoiler]

Beautiful game worth playing through for the atmosphere alone. Amazing soundtrack, very nice art style, and just-deep-enough writing that gives you the gist without getting lost in its own weeds. Not particularly difficult, but occasionally can be frustrating when the movement gets a bit buggy/inconsistent- sometimes the character feels drunk and you can't quite grab where you're trying to for no reason.

I came in to this on the back of playing Cairn and wanting to scratch that climbing itch some more. So comparison is kind of inevitable.

Jusant is not Cairn. It's a very different style of game. You won't find survival mechanics and the moment-to-moment climbing is much easier here. Jusant is closer to 'landscape exploration' than Cairn's 'challenge climbing'. With that out of the way...

Where I think Jusant falls down is on the sense of progression. You're climbing this fantastic tower, but at any given time you're not sure how far up you are. The game starts with you some way up already, but you don't have a sense of scale to judge how far or long the protagonist has been going before the player took control. Each Chapter is very isolated so you can't look down and see where you were before, and you can't look up and see where you'll be. This often happens even within a level. The first chapter does a good job of showing you the lighthouse you climb at its end, but only the first chapter does this. People playing this sort of game don't need much motivation beyond 'I want to climb the mountain' but without the feeling of 'I've climbed X% of the mountain' that can drain fairly quickly.

So why have I rated this positive given I clearly care quite a bit about that above negative? Because it's hecking beautiful. The cutscenes are great, and while I still only have a vague grasp of what was going on that's fine. The scenery is varied and cool to move through. The climbing mechanics, while simple and unchallenging, are good enough to get around. I don't regret the money & time I spent on it.

Just as a note - at time of writing I just completed the game. I got a fair few collectables but not all by any means. So if you're thinking in terms of 'value per hour' that's a rough metric for you.

Jusant is a beautiful game where you climb a mountain. The visuals and audio are wonderfully satisfying - enough for it to be a mistake to play on a Steamdeck. However, with a proper set up, you are entranced to explore a wonderful death of a society. The game does a really good job in pushing you to be empathetic towards a community you have no relation to. There are notes between members that tell individual stories, but the map also showcases where the struggles were and how people were able to circumvent said issues. It was a wonderfully deep and thoughtful climb up.

I had an idea to make a climbing game, but then I saw Jusant, and I abandoned my climbing programming and mechanics b/c a team could do better than I could.

So anyways, here I am after having the game sit unplayed on my PC for a year or so. I have to say I am glad I didn't pursue making the game b/c one of my concerns was how tiring just climbing can be for the player. I was done with the game about 66-75% (3-4hrs) of the way thru it.

I'd say the mechanics are great and wonderful, but the challenge is lacking. Also, in typical indie fashion, collectible letters and notes dot the jumble mumbled villas and cliffs. The letters are cliche and vague, and the journal entries hint at what's going on in the world and what happened to the world, but they are slow burn reveals that are boring and don't push the story forward, in fact, they basically, just say the same thing over and over with slight variations for 50 or 60 letters. So I won't be going back to 100% the game.

The village environments don't make much sense. There is just a lot of scattered assets placed randomly everywhere with no sense of orginization or common sense of why there are like a hundred desks perched on the edge of cliffs that just happens to have a letter on it.

Well, the game is okay for uber cheap, but as someone else pointed out:
Jusant is a walking simulator.
Lacks a compelling story.
Falls back on indie vibes like Sable, but it isn't compelling or cute or whatnot.

Did I enjoy it? Sure. Do I want to 100% it to dig into the environment or characters more? No.

+ 沉浸的攀爬机制和流畅的动作设计
+ 身临其境的音画表现
+ 场景丰富，无声故事给人更足的感染力
+ 碎片化叙事、场景叙事构建出的对失落文明的探索

- 玩法单一，中期节奏比较拖沓
- 流程较短（3-5h），重玩价值有限
- 叙事过于依赖收集要素
- 部分交互判定糟糕
- 部分路线指向不够直观

顺带一提玩的时候出现了部分场景提示丢失的bug，这里说一下，一个是在墙壁上跳的时候有二段跳，另一个是壁画需要用回音触发，不然不会在图鉴记录。

Jusant，一个以禅意和攀登闻名的游戏，成功以其操作简单的核心玩法（左右扳机模拟左右手攀爬）构建，或者说试图构建一次令人印象深刻的登山之旅。我只能说，它成功了一半，但可能一半都不到。

对一名在高原长大、上下学都要上下坡、爬上过黄山天都峰、转过冈仁波齐的山民来说，Jusant做得远远不够，not enough。向上爬，是在对抗重力，对抗虚无，要的是一步一脚印的真实，以及登顶后的惊叹与满足。

Jusant是什么？在一个视角可以说是生命的活动里，它卡视角。在跳跃方向就是命悬一线时，它卡手感。在振奋地往前跑时，它突然黑屏来加载地图（以及我每次都要启动三遍才能进入游戏主界面的奇怪报错）。在登山扣上悬吊着努力前后摇摆以滑向目标时，视野突然变小，以至于感觉被主角那厚重的鞋子蹬了一下脸。在BGM铺垫情绪的时候，它音乐也卡。更不用说那时不时就出现的穿模，卡脚、悬空而立👍在一个试图以氛围取胜的游戏中，连基本的稳定都做不到，谈什么沉浸？

至于叙事，Jusant以环境叙事的手法来呈现背景，但环境叙事的碎片性注定了你必须给玩家足够的驱动力，换言之，足够的吸引力，这些碎片才有其意义。否则，就只是廉价的堆砌。

要论荒芜和孤独，我想孤帆远航（FAR: Lone Sails）或许是个不错的对比，我愿意为那辆小车跑上跑下，到处捡燃料，组装零件，心急火燎地灭火，休息的时候看看沿途的风景，抵达终点时心怀怅然。而Jusant，我不觉得这座山非爬不可，那座塔非爬不可，空洞乏力的叙事手法，缺乏打磨的技术细节，都让这场旅途从[b]心向往之[/b]变成了[b]不得不爬[/b]。

在游戏世界里，单纯的美术、音乐、氛围，是不足以打动人的。如果想要叙事的深刻，逻辑就必须自洽。如果想要沉浸的玩法，技术就必须过硬。而Jusant，很遗憾，做得太浅了。

﹒Le lore du jeu est sympathique, à condition de lire les notes que vous ramasserez ça et là.

﹒La direction artistique est géniale : le style visuel est agréable a l'oeil, les couleurs chaudes, les jeux de lumières éclatants… L'atmosphère générale est vraiment calme et relaxante.

﹒Les musiques qui nous accompagnent au fil de l'aventure sont franchement excellentes. Certaines séquences du jeu m'ont énormément marqué, simplement par l'intensité et la beauté de la musique qui se jouait en fond.

﹒Le sound design est un gros point fort du jeu. Vous aurez souvent des périodes de silence où vous pourrez profiter de l'ambiance sonore. De temps à autre, vous aurez également la possibilité de ramasser des coquillages vous permettant d'écouter des échos du passé, tels que le bruit des vagues, les cloches, les enfants qui jouent… C'est très relaxant.

﹒Les cinématiques, bien que muettes (votre personnage ne parle pas), sont pourtant très parlantes. La DA, les musiques et le sound design suffisent à retranscrire l'ambiance souhaitée, ainsi que la beauté du jeu.

-- Points négatifs -----------------------------------------------------

﹒Le level design est vraiment caca mou par moments, certains cheminements du jeu sont peu intuitifs et parfois trop difficiles d'accès à mon goût.

﹒Par moments, le personnage a du mal à détecter les prises.

﹒Il m'est arrivé quelques fois de glitcher dans les textures. En général, c'était en essayant de passer par d'autres voies pour aller plus vite, mais bon, quand même, ce n'est pas dingue pour l'expérience.

﹒Durant certaines séquences, vous ne pouvez pas déplacer votre caméra efficacement car elle se bloque dans des textures ou des obstacles. C'est très chiant puisque ça vous empêche de voir les différentes prises et chemins disponibles autour de vous.

﹒Le balancement avec la corde est vraiment frustrant par moments. En effet, votre personnage a tendance à faire un petit peu comme bon lui chante. Ainsi, il refusera parfois de prendre de l'élan pour se balancer ; parfois, il s'agrippera automatiquement au mur alors que vous insistez pour qu'il se balance, etc. C'est extrêmement rageant.

﹒Aussi cool soient-elles, on ne peut pas skip les cinématiques. C'est quand même le B.A.-BA du jeu vidéo de proposer une touche pour passer les cinématiques.

﹒Je n'ai pas compris l'intérêt des raccourcis dans ce jeu, puisque vous n'avez généralement aucune raison de revenir en arrière, le but étant de monter, pas de descendre. De plus, Jusant n'est pas Getting Over It, il est impossible de retomber tout en bas en escaladant.
Certes, vous pouvez rejouer les chapitres une fois le jeu terminé, sauf que les raccourcis se désactivent, donc aucun gain de temps si vous lancez une deuxième run.

-- Conclusion -----------------------------------------------------

Jusant est une véritable expérience. Le jeu ne dure que quelques heures, mais pourtant il arrive à vous faire vibrer par ses choix artistiques et son ambiance sonore. L'expérience est courte, certes, mais paisible et relaxante. Prenez votre temps, laissez-vous porter par le jeu, profitez des panoramas, des musiques, des sons…

Néanmoins, le level design peut parfois laisser à désirer, et le gameplay du jeu est quelque peu chaotique. Même si le jeu se veut paisible et relaxant, la complexité de certaines phases de l'ascension et les mécaniques bordéliques du jeu finissent indéniablement par générer de la frustration. Je pense que le jeu aurait gagné à simplifier certaines phases de l'ascension, afin de rendre le parcours plus fluide et donc plus agréable pour le joueur.

Cela dit, le jeu dans son ensemble reste quand même très cool. Malgré quelques phases chiantes, c'était une expérience fantastique.

Je recommande ce jeu, foncez !!

Je n'ai fait que très peu d'évaluations, mais ce jeu en mérite une.
C'est un chef-d'oeuvre, une des plus belles expérience de jeu vidéo que j'ai eu l'occasion de faire. Il est toujours juste, autant dans son ambiance immersive que dans son gameplay et son gamefeel.
J'ai déjà envie de le refaire.

Это невероятно эстетичная игра! Каждую локацию хочется буквально разбирать на скриншоты, и это первый раз, когда я всерьез расстроился из-за отсутствия фоторежима. Если вы жаждете хардкора — проходите мимо. Jusant — это чистая медитация, неспешный подъем к облакам и уютное чтение записок.
Это идеальный выбор для тех, кто хочет выдохнуть и сменить суету на спокойный подъем.
Главное — преодолеть чуть медлительное начало, и мир игры раскроется во всей красе.

Jusant é um jogo muito bonito e, para quem curte games de escalada, é um prato cheio.

Por ser um jogo indie e relativamente curto — podendo ser zerado em cerca de 4 horas ou até menos — já é o suficiente para apreciar toda a arte e a fotografia que o jogo proporciona.

Como não há diálogos, conseguimos ouvir melhor os sons da natureza, dos animais e do ambiente ao redor. No começo, a dificuldade está em fazer as subidas segurando o tempo todo o LT e o RT; se soltar, você cai feio haha.

Enfim, é um baita jogo que recomendo que joguem!

O jogo é muito bonito e tem uma história legal. No entanto, a história é mal contada e o sistema de salvamento da progressão é um pouco frustrante, por exemplo, você voltou no capítulo somente para pegar/escutar uma concha, pois busca a conquista. Ao pegar/escutar, o menu de capítulos identifica, mas se você não concluir o capítulo, você perde, precisando refazer tudo novamente. A principio pode parecer bobeira, mas dependendo do capítulo, é preciso dar muitas voltas, com tempo se perde a vontade de jogar. Pelo tipo do jogo, deveria haver um fluxo mais amigável e uma história melhor explicada.

Great game. Fun to climb. Excellent backstory if you want to read the papers you pick up. Fun even if you don't, and you don't need to. It's about a 6 hour game if you take your time, but don't try to get everything.

Не хочется называть игру плохой, более того прекрасно могу понять тех кому она понравилась...
Но тут такое дело... я совсем недавно прошел Cairn и на ее фоне Jusant просто ужасна. Невероятно скучная, однообразная, невразумительная игра. Да местами красивая, да, наверное, под настроение может и зайти, но лично для меня совершенно неинтересная, максимально казуальная - даже погибнуть нельзя. Нет челенджа, нет истории, которая бы цепляла хоть немножко.
Пожалуй единственный для меня плюс этой игры - ее скоротечность. Именно это, в общем-то, и позволило мне завершить эту невзрачную, унылую историю и с чистой совестью выдать ей заслуженный вердикт.

Kafası dolu olup oyun oynamak ve rougelike batağından çıkmak isteyenlere göre bence en iyi oyunlardan biri. Küçük bir indie oyunu bile bu kadar güzel ortam sunuyorsa ciddi oyunları daha neler sunar.

Fun gameplay, great atmosphere, charming graphics and audio. And I loved the story that slowly emerges from the collectable journal entries.
My only minor complaint would be the pacing. The game advertises itself as climbing an unbelievably tall mountain, but the chapters feel too disconnected. It felt more like 5 self-contained climbing challenges, rather than a single continuous adventure.

A climbing game with a rather cute art style and some fairly nice landscapes overall.

The game is divided into several chapters and offers areas with slightly different atmospheres, even though the gameplay itself doesn’t change much. It is almost entirely focused on climbing, and the system works quite well, feeling smooth and rarely frustrating. The overall difficulty remains fairly low, although a few sections may require a bit more precision.

The adventure is occasionally broken up by small cave areas that offer some light exploration, where you can find collectibles and scattered texts.
The story is mostly told through these writings and through environmental storytelling. Personally, I didn’t pay much attention to it.

In the end, it’s a very cozy and contemplative game. I didn’t have a bad time with it, but it’s not an experience that particularly stood out to me either.

Jusant is a fun climbing puzzle game. It is not always clear which path to take to progress and the saving scheme is a bit confusing as you don't know how much progress you will lose if you quit at the wrong check point. Just because the saving icon appears does not mean you will continue at that location next time. If you like Jusant, you may enjoy Cairn as well, which is also fun in its own way.

Sweet and short, I enjoyed it in 3 separate sessions and 10 hours overall which is a bit high but it was done in my type of pacing. It has a very appealing art style that was lovely, the storytelling isn't the definitive point of this game and as some reviews have said it's a bit of "Tell, don't show" but after finishing it I was satisfied and happy with my purchase.

Es un juego muy lindo, divertido si te gusta esta mecanica de escalar, y relajante en general, diria que nunca me senti frustrado durante el juego.
Sere honesto y dire que despues de unos cuantos, deje de leer los diaros y periodicos, por lo que como historia solo tengo el contexto visual, lo cual creo que se entiende bien, un mundo que poco a poco perdio el agua hasta solo ser este risco gigante.
A nivel mecanico creo que los controles son bastante satisfactorios, especialmente con la escalada que es lo mas importante.
El nivel grafico tambien es muy bonito, me gusta este mundo fantastico con un estilo simple pero eficaz, destacando bastante los escenarios, sin dejar de lado su protagonista, esta niña roja que a pesar de que nunca habla me parece lo suficiente curiosa y carismatica.
El diseño de niveles no es muy resaltante, digo, casi siempre es solo ir hacia arriba y los caminos en general esta bien marcados, quizas lo que no me gusto mucho son estos bichos piedra de los que te puedes tomar y que se cansan despues de un rato, hace un poco mas lenta la escalada de una manera innecesaria a mi parecer, pero en general se nota el cambio entre lugares y como cada vez mas te acercas a la sima.

Empecé a jugarlo en alerta, con mentalidad de (mal) jugador que escudriña cada rincón en busca de coleccionables. Consejo: NO LO HAGÁIS. No fue hasta que no me dejé llevar por la experiencia más “chill”, por vivir la aventura como me apetecía, explorando solo los caminos que realmente despertaban mi curiosidad y siguiendo las rutas que creía más lógicas, que el juego comenzó a entrarme… y de qué manera. Con sus momentos de desesperación, otros de alivio al llegar a un sitio seguro y otros de puro asombro por determinadas estampas como, supongo, debe ocurrir en la propia escalada.
Por lo demás, un juego bastante menos guiado de lo que creía, visualmente bellísimo y por momentos más tocho de lo que me esperaba, una banda sonora de las de ponerte en casa, y una vueltita de tuerca en el control que, sin abandonar el espíritu más arcade, le da un toque de profundidad muy gustoso.

Where did the reviews see a "Show, don't tell" game? This is clearly a "Tell, don't show" game.

Climbing controls are just a clever gimmick. This is all there is to this game. Left-click, right-click. Grab rocks to go up.

No events, no environmental storytelling, no story at all except the worn-out trope of 'notes' left out in the open for years. I kept expecting SOMETHING to happen after 3 hours, but the environment or gameplay changes are next to nothing. Here it's sunny sky, and then it's in a cave. This is all.

Are we supposed to care about people and events mentioned in 'notes' only?
Is this abandoned barbershop scenery with a sad violin soundtrack 'environmental storytelling'?

"Show, don't tell"? It's rather "No, Don't Nod".

Me he acabado el juego ahora mismo y estoy llorando (porque soy demasiado sentimental). Este juego es muy tranquilo, cozy, con escenarios preciosos. La música también es preciosa y, sin duda, hace que el ambiente del juego sea acogedor.

En cuanto al juego, lo principal es escalar una montaña. No te cuenta una historia explícitamente, con cinemáticas y todo eso, sino que se cuenta a través de cartas y mensajes que vas encontrando a través del juego. Es un juego entretenido, con sus momentos más y menos difíciles, y perfecto para cuando quieras jugar a algo que te pueda suponer un reto sin necesidad de muchos estímulos.

非常好玩的一款游戏！我是23年的时候看散人的实况云玩的这个游戏，但是自己有电脑之后还是再买来玩了两遍，一遍自己探索，一遍跟攻略解锁成就同时拍照，体验非常好！
首先是游戏玩法，退潮选择的题材是攀岩，我本来就对攀岩比较感兴趣，所以游戏玩法非常吸引我。但是为了方便操作，游戏简化了攀岩的流程，还设置了防跌落，因此在体会到攀岩乐趣的同时又不会因为太难而卡住，产生太多挫败感。每一章节又新增了一些机制，比如阳光、会动的石头虫、风，让人玩下来新奇满满，不会因为重复操作而疲劳。中途有些地方找路比较困难，需要多绕几圈或者观察一下。游戏流程不算太长，但是如果愿意，还是可以慢慢玩很久。
游戏剧情我其实没怎么看懂，由于剧情是由碎片化的收集物和纯哑剧动画来呈现的，所以第一遍自己探索没有全收集，再加上文本与文本之间忙着操作、看风景，所以剧情体验不太连贯。倒是也找了一些解析视频来看，但是其实还是每太弄明白。不过，我个人看来，这个游戏看不懂剧情也不影响游戏体验，游戏本身就很好玩了。
美术和音乐绝对是神！游戏画风非常有特色，非常美！无论走到哪像是一幅画一样，而且每一个章节都有不同的美术风格，完全是一场视觉盛宴！我用截图功能拍了好多照片，可惜游戏没有内置相机，不能自己调整镜头，人物也基本只能居中，所以找起角度来比较困难，构图也比较局限，有些遗憾。音乐非常好听并且契合场景，能够调动人的情绪。不过有些地方本来光线就比较暗，配上神秘感拉满的音乐，玩的时候莫名有一点令人害怕。
以及一个温馨提示留给有缘人：手柄上的L2和R2对应鼠标的左右键。我苦苦找了好久才找到，当你遇到这个问题的时候就会知道我为什么会放这个温馨提示了……

This is a super fun game! I first watched someone else play it through live streams by content creators back in 2023, but after getting my own computer, I bought it and played it twice—once exploring on my own, and once following a guide to unlock achievements while taking screenshots. The experience was fantastic!

First, let's talk about the gameplay. The theme chosen for Ebb is rock climbing, which I’ve always been interested in, so the gameplay immediately appealed to me. To make it easier to play, the game simplifies the climbing process and includes fall damage protection, allowing players to enjoy the fun of climbing without getting stuck due to difficulty or feeling too frustrated. Each chapter introduces new mechanics, such as sunlight, moving rock creatures, and wind, keeping the experience fresh and preventing fatigue from repetitive actions. Some parts are a bit tricky to navigate, requiring you to take a few extra laps or observe carefully. The game isn’t too long, but if you want, you can take your time and enjoy it for a while.

As for the story, I didn’t fully understand it. Since the narrative is delivered through fragmented collectibles and purely silent animations, I didn’t manage to collect everything during my first playthrough. Combined with the need to focus on gameplay and take in the scenery, the story felt a bit disjointed. I did watch some analysis videos to piece things together, but honestly, I still didn’t fully grasp it. That said, in my opinion, not fully understanding the story doesn’t detract from the game experience—the game itself is enjoyable enough on its own.

The art and music are absolutely divine! The art style is incredibly unique and beautiful. Everywhere you go looks like a painting, and each chapter has its own distinct artistic style, making it a true visual feast! I took so many screenshots using the screenshot feature, but it’s a shame the game doesn’t have a built-in camera mode to adjust the lens, and the character is mostly centered, which makes finding good angles a bit difficult and limits composition. That’s a bit disappointing. The music is wonderful and fits the scenes perfectly, evoking strong emotions. However, some areas are quite dimly lit, and when paired with the mysterious music, it can feel a little eerie while playing.

And a little tip for anyone who might need it: the L2 and R2 buttons on the controller correspond to the left and right mouse buttons. I struggled to figure this out for a long time, so when you encounter this issue, you’ll understand why I’m leaving this tip here...

One of the most visually stunning and eye-catching games I have ever played. Every area, room, and corner is packed with detail and interesting objects. The gameplay is quite simple and the story is too, but these aren't drawbacks since they are secondary to the overall captivating journey.

It’s important to clarify that, unlike many other games where you have to climb higher and higher, hardship and loss are not the objectives here. A clear example is the lack of fall damage, which alone changes your approach significantly.
To be fair, even if the gameplay is easy after you learn the basics, it provides just enough tension to keep you alert and sometimes also a refreshing freedom to explore some unintended areas, a rarity in titles like this.
In practice, the climbing system is particularly well-implemented; from the freedom to choose the next hold to the physical tension of holding down the buttons to maintain your grip during long, precarious stretches, these mechanics are commendable.

The story, told through abandoned notes, diaries and artifacts, guides you toward the summit, maintaining just enough mystery to keep you intrigued, this becomes a subtle but effective motivation to uncover more.
The last thing I want to highlight is the soundtrack, which is always fitting, but especially in the final act, becomes surprisingly good.

Overall, this is a game I wouldn’t give less than a 9/10, thanks to the high quality of craftsmanship in every part of it and the simple fact that I loved moving in that world.

A beautiful game. The gameplay is simple enough - enough to challenge but not to frustrate. There is very little action or puzzle in this game, however; its mostly just exploration. Overall I greatly enjoyed it, and felt fairly fulfilled upon completion.

The graphics, soundtrack, and mechanics were decent. Worldbuilding was lackluster, which was disappointing, but what is provided is decent as well. I do wish there was more lore provided regarding the piper, the ballast, and the whole issue at hand - as I reached the ending I was asking what was happening and why. Or maybe the few letters I missed held the key to the premise of the game, I don't know.

It's a nice game. Not worth playing more than once if you like to explore and find everything, but I've completed the game and I have very little desire to go back and find what I missed honestly. Choosing to look at the positives - its a good game, but it could have been better. I enjoyed it.

Őszintén szólva a Jusant egy kellemes meglepetés volt számomra. Elsőre egy egyszerű mászós játéknak tűnik, de ahogy haladsz előre, egyre jobban beszippant a hangulata. A játék egyik legerősebb része a nyugodt, relaxáló atmoszféra. Nincs harc, nincs kapkodás, csak te, a falak, és a felfedezés. Nagyon jó érzés volt lassan haladni felfelé, közben pedig apró történetdarabkákat találni a világról.

A mászás mechanikája meglepően jól működik. Mindkét kéz külön irányítása miatt tényleg úgy érzed, mintha tényleg kapaszkodnál és keresnéd a következő fogást. Ez sokkal interaktívabbá teszi az egészet, mint egy sima “nyomd a gombot és felmászol” rendszer. Néha kicsit gondolkodni is kell, merre érdemes tovább menni vagy hol találsz jobb útvonalat.

A látványvilág szerintem gyönyörű. A különböző területek mind saját hangulattal rendelkeznek, és nagyon jól működik a minimalista történetmesélés is. A játék nem mond el mindent direktben, inkább hagyja, hogy a környezetből és a talált jegyzetekből rakd össze a történetet.

A zene és a hangulat szintén nagyon jól passzol a játékhoz. Sokszor csak másztam, néztem a tájat, és élveztem a csendet meg a zenét. Ritka az ilyen nyugodt játékélmény.

Összességében a Jusant nem egy hosszú játék, de szerintem nagyon emlékezetes. Ha szereted a chilles, atmoszférikus játékokat, a felfedezést, és valami kicsit mást keresel a megszokott akciójátékok helyett, akkor mindenképpen érdemes kipróbálni.

Je suis presque certains de n'avoir jamais rédigé d'avis avant celui-ci mais je me suis dit que ça valait le cout. Si vous hésitez, n'hésitez plus et prenez ce jeu. Il est très beau et calme à faire de son côté sans distraction pour profiter de l'univers et de l'histoire que l'on comprends petit à petit. Vraiment un très bon jeu!

Mit seinem tollen Art Design, kurzer und spaßiger Laufzeit, wundervollem Gameplay und interessanter Prämisse hat Jusant esc geschafft mich zu fesseln. Eher als Cozy Game abgestempelt habe ich meinen Backlog durchgeflöht und bin hierdrauf gestoßen.

Das Klettern ist fantastisch umgesetzt und das Enviromental Storytelling schafft es, Geschichten zu erzählen ohne auch nur ein Wort zu sagen.

Das Ende konnte mir sogar eine Träne entlocken!

Zu guter Letzt eine Moral an uns Menschen und wie die Welt aussehen kann.
Jedoch wie auch in Jusant ist und bleibt die Hoffnung, als letzter Funke des Geistes...
