A guy roasted me on the discussions by saying i lack brain cells because i find this game too hard! it's not hard! The game doesn't tell you where to go. I'm tired on wandering around. I've played for 3 hours so I can't get a refund. Who thought this was a good idea when most people have ADHD? I can't pay attention to save my life i zone out of dialog because it's boring! the combat is fun but maybe I'll give it a try later after i beat my big backlog. If you're a person that need to be guided like a normal human being then don't buy this game no wonder it didn't sell a million copies and the guy called "Hoochie DAddy" roasted me saying im slow. nah bro this game is gabbage if not it will have millions of sales. he's lucky his comments are turned off. i swear i read that comment a week ago and im still burning . I haven't showered in a week, chain smoking cigs cuz im so mad. I wish i can refund and be done with this game but i can't!

I'd tentatively recommend this game, but only with serious reservations.

Obvious effort that went into the world building and lore. THere are some haunting moments that paint a more realistic picture of war, and there are themes in the game that speak to aspects of the human condition.

The bulk of the game is unfortunately combat oriented, and while it had some nice ideas, the implementation fell flat. The fights are awkward and annoying, and usually result in easy, boring victories or quick deaths with little in between. Tying stamina to your health is probably one of the worst decisions they could have made, as it singlehandedly ruins most fights. I'm not sure how this combat system made it through testing.

The ending was also somewhat disappointing and unsatisfying, though I won't say more to avoid any spoilers.

I really hope they make another one or some kind of successor title and fix many of the mistakes they made here.

Welcome to Backtracking the Game!

I recommend this with the caveat that the recommendation is more of an A for effort type of recommendation vs. this being a really good game. There's a lot to like here from the standpoint of world building, the history of the central conflicts, and some strong early areas that drives home the horrors of this region. The world and general art direction are it's strongest points. Now this is a recommendation for the WORLD not the story. The story is a flat and lifeless experience with a wildly unrelatable and weirdly out of touch protagonist with personal motivations that are basically fulfilled by the halfway point so what more motivation does he have to actually finish...anything related to the core threat other than a relative he never knew telling him he had to, and the fact that there wouldn't be a back half of the game if he didn't mindlessly push forward?

The actual gameplay is divided into two halves. Combat; which is mediocre to sub par at best, lands somewhere in between a souls game and a hack and slash. Learning how to time your healing pulse is realistically the only thing you need to know mechanically to carry you through the entire game by just spamming the attack button. The enemy variety is also very shallow. Surprisingly so because of the types of enemies you are facing lend themselves to some weird and otherworldly designs. You would think there would be good opportunity for some really weird monstrosities by the end, but you really just face the same 5 or so enemies the entire game, save for a few oversized versions of the basic enemy in the final room.

The other half is what we will generously call "puzzles". 80 percent of the "puzzles" in this game consist of "I found something that requires a key. I don't have that key. Come back when you have it."

The rest are fairly typical environmental puzzles or clues in a note pointing you to a door code for instance. There are a few set piece ones that are a little better, but generally speaking; because they are bludgeoning you with these "puzzles" the entire game ad nauseam, the impact of even the better ones are diminished from the exhaustion of having to deal with yet another code of some kind to decipher or another key to find. The variety and creativity is really exhausted by the midpoint and the back half of the game does feel so much weaker than the first. This; and the experience of the cruelty and characters of the setting dissipating by the back half and being replaced with just notes upon notes describing things that you'd rather be taking first hand for full effect, really makes the back half of the game feel much slower and less interesting save for maybe one area specifically.

It's a good not great experience overall. Still gets a recommendation based purely on the worldbuilding and the first half of the game, but temper your expectations and get this on sale if you are interested.

Le monde de Hell is Us est absolument fantastique. Les paysages et l'atmosphère de chaque endroit que l'on visite sont extraordinaires de créativité et de photographie. L'histoire peut paraître très confuse au début mais tout sera finalement révélé, contrairement à un Dark Souls où l'on ne comprendra jamais rien.
En parlant de Dark Souls, le jeu n'a avec le jeu de From Software que peu de points communs : le combat y est parfaitement accessible et les indices pour trouver et résoudre les quêtes sont présents en profusion, si on prend la peine de les chercher.

Une excellente expérience hors des sentiers balisés de l'action-aventure. Vivement la suite !

Плюсы:
- Хороший проработанный мир, конфликты, мотивации и персонажи
- Визуал локаций, персонажей, врагов приятный глазу и имеет свои уникальные фишки
- Механики загадок хорошо вплетены в сюжет и лор
- Отсутствие карты и маркеров, также хорошо работает на атмосферу и погружение

Среднее:
-Боевая система, а точнее некоторые идеи про врагов создают иногда очень странные и сложные бои, просто потому-что система так работает. Поэтому иногда получать удовольствие тяжело, но не критично. Игра прошлась на максимальной сложности, а я не гуру экшенов от 3 лица.

Минусы:
-Боевая система сильно завязана, на нацеливании, через интерфейс, а он выполнен очень криво, из-за чего несколько раз проигрывались бои на базовом уровне.
- Концовка немного расстроила [spoiler] Босс файта нет никакого, хотя в течении игры боссы были. Глобальный сюжет оборвался на пустом месте. Последняя локация, в плане сюжета неплохая, но слишком простая, по сравнению с всей игрой, будто не успели доделать [/spoiler]

Небезынтересная и самобытная игра, но сложно её рекомендовать из-за не самого увлекательного геймплея и некоторых других проблем.

В игре симпатичная визуальная составляющая. Стильные дизайны врагов и оружия, красивое окружение. Из неудачного эффекты воды при помощи частиц, на мой взгляд вышло коряво. В катсценах анимации и постановка очень средние, но это ожидаемо для бюджета игры и катсцен тут мало.

Музыка самобытная и большая часть мне понравилось, но на некоторых конкретных композициях уши кровоточили.

С лором постарались. Сценаристы хорошенько прописали историю Хадеи, и грамотно нарезали её на части для выдачи игроку. Кроме того, фрагменты истории замешаны в пазлы, где пока разбираешься в том, что надо сделать, начинаешь в общих чертах понимать, что произошло. История же непосредственно происходящего в игре не впечатлила. Её мало, персонажей тоже мало и они не особо интересные, концовка предсказуемая и оборвана на полуслове, а основная цель у нас на протяжении половины игры - найти 3 ключа.

Атмосфера. Вот уж чего тут с избытком. На любителя, разумеется, ведь игра довольно мрачная: нас забрасывают в центр гражданской войны, вокруг разруха, ненависть, жестокость, изнасилования, убийства и так далее.

Исследование неплохое. Шариться по локациям без каких-либо маркеров довольно интересно. Это нормально работает при прохождении сюжета, несложно примерно понять, куда тебе надо двигаться. Но если ты желаешь закрывать дополнительный контент, бегай 100 раз по локациям-лабиринтам в поисках конкретного персонажа или места. Лучше бы в игре была карта, можно даже без указателя игрока (собственно, она такая есть в одной из локаций, но не слишком полезна, так как персонаж на ней не может отметить, где реально есть проходы, а где тупики). И уж точно игре не помешала бы возможность помечать места, где игрок столкнулся с чем-то, что он не может сделать (а тут таких мест просто дохрена и больше, в игре куча замков-ключей, где ключи ты порой получаешь в другой локации). Телепортации между точками сохранения тоже не хватает, без неё куча лишней беготни. Особенно всё это тупо из-за того, что дыры в истории игра заполняет при помощи статей журналистки, но чтобы она их написала, надо собрать предметы для исследования. И я не особо представляю, как разработчики представляли поиск оставшихся предметов на примерно 10 игровых локациях без какого-либо понимания, где они находятся. Видимо, я должен был ещё 10 часов тыкаться во все углы этих лабиринтообразных локаций. Или в обнимку с гайдом сделать это за час. Не звучит, как увлекательное времяпрепровождение, так что я просто прочитал эти статьи в интернете.

Пазлы средние. Не слишком изобретательные, не слишком душные, и скорее простые, чем сложные. Обычно решение проговаривается где-то в документе в стиле: посмотри на X, скомбинируй с Y, вот твой ответ.

Боевая часть посредственная и со временем надоедает. Персонаж управляется нормально, базовый мувсет простенький, но у нас ещё есть способности. И они мне не понравились: некоторые скучно применять (любые, где надо зажать кнопку), некоторые по сути дублируют другие, дальние абилки работают криво и порой не срабатывают вообще. Врагов мало видов, и у них скромные мувсеты. Сражений при этом в игре много. В игре плохо настроен баланс: враги разделены на 3 уровня, каждый переход к врагам нового уровня - резкий прыжок сложности, после которого сложность начинает убывать. Игрока заваливают всякими расходниками, но применять их толком не требуется. Драки заканчиваются быстро, от чего расходники, растянутые по времени, теряют смысл. Некоторые расходники привязаны к местным "стихиям". Но кто хочет тасовать расходники в зависимости от цвета врага? Привязка стамины к здоровью ведёт к тому, что пропустив пару ударов, ты можешь отлететь без шансов, так как блокировать не выйдет. Большинство смертей случалось так: с полного здоровья до 0 за пару секунд. Особенно странно это смотрелось в последней локации с несколькими минибоссами. Сами минибоссы ужасно простые, но при призыве третьего уровня они периодически спамили на землю без анимации какое-то AoE в виде мелких молний на земле, которое просто аннигилировало моё здоровье.

Прогрессия унылая. Система на мой взгляд одновременно банальная и переусложнённая. Например, защитные предметы: у них у всех одинаковые базовые характеристики, но дополнительно 1 эффект, которые зависит от "стихии". Почему тогда не разделить эффекты и базовую защиту? У нас есть 4 варианта оружия, для каждой единицы мы выбираем привязку к стихии, и можем использовать только общие навыки оружия или навыки выбранной стихии. Но я так и не понял, а зачем нужна вообще эта привязка к стихиям? Для стильного скинчика? Ощущается оружие ровно так же, как и без стихии. Статы вроде особо не меняются от стихии. Стихийные навыки вообще никак не связаны с оружием: это обычно разные проджектайлы или AoE, т.е. их можно применить как из меча, так и из топоров, так и из двуручного меча, и ничего не поменяется. Также нам насыпают пассивные и активные реликвии, там эффекты поинтереснее, но с учётом баланса игры можно взять первый попавшийся и отходить до конца игры. Зачем в игре есть возможность вставлять один и тот же навык разных уровней, мне тоже не понятно. Могли было просто заменять навык прошлого уровня на навык нового автоматически. Мне кажется, какой-то потенциал у этой системы был, какие-то билды немного вырисовываются, но с учётом баланса в этом всём копаться смысла не имеет и, более того, не хочется, так как тебе предлагают копошиться во множестве вариантов с минимальными различиями.

Интерфейс по большей части нормальный, но инвентарь неудобный. Хотелось бы иметь возможность сортировать по локации получения и по времени получения, что важно для документов с подсказками.

Технически проблем никаких не встретил.

Summary: Loved this game. It's not a super polished AAA game, but it has a great atmosphere going for it, really good sound design, an interesting premise, decent combat and the best puzzle design I've seen in an action game. The game draws heavily from Souls Games, including the UI, the classic "being in a menu does not mean the game is paused", a stamina system, a dodge with iframes and a parry system... But I would never call it a soulslike because the focus of the game is not on its combat, it's in the story, atmosphere and puzzles.

Some of the puzzles are tough, but it's so rewarding when you finally connect the dots. The combat is a simpler than I would have liked and once you master the recovery mechanic everything just comes down to not being hit too many times in a row.

The atmosphere is what I found most interesting about this game. It draws heavily from Eastern European conflicts and does a great job of portrays the horrors of a civil war (at least to me, who has never actually witnessed one).

I enjoyed the different weapons, but spent most of the time using the sword - I am a simple man :)

If I had to complain about a few things, it would be the fact that the game doesn't do a good job at telling you that the solution to your puzzle might be in a completely different level or that you might be hanging on to some items for the next 10h or so until you get to use them. The level design is also lacking a bit, at times just because of the sheer amount of chest-high obstacles blocking me... Seriously, Todd Howard, just jump climb over it.

A lot of the side-quests were simple, but sometimes had a strong impact, despite their simplicity, given what the characters were going through. It's the kind of game where I recommend actually reading all the notes when you get them because it's much harder later.

Great game.

If you like exploration and puzzles this is the game for you, but beware because this is not the type of game that will tell you the answers if you get stuck for a while, you always have to find the answers for yourself, the game won't help you. It also doesn't have any type of navigation helpers like a map, you only have a compass to help you navigate the zones.

The graphics are really pretty and the game runs well. The zones you explore are all a sight to behold, with tons of little nooks to explore.

The sound design is really good, everything from the rain to the steps sound crisp and clear. The "things" you fight have an otherwordly sound to them that really fits.

The combat is really simple with a few weapons to try, you pretty much only have 4 weapon types but each weapons has different affinities that give them a different look and playstyle. The normal attack set is always the same but with a different affinity you get different glyphs you can slot on your weapon that opens new skill combinations. It won't be one of those games that the combat will impede your progress, its easy once you get the hang of it.

The story and world building is stellar, even though there is a ton of story points that they don't tell you so you have to read item descriptions,computers and such to piece the world together.

Para quem gosta da mecanica de dark souls esse é um jogo que bebe de muito dessa fonte. Eu adorei o jogo, rodou liso (tudo no minimo) no steam deck. Tem tudo que eu gosto, uma história complexa, muita exploraçao e a diversao de matar monstros hahaha.

Pontos positivos:
> Puzzles vastos e complexos, onde as vezes voce precisa explorar todo o mapa e os próximos para ter pistas para voltar e conseguir resolver
> Fast-pacing action, o jogo tem uma mecanica bem legal que vc recupera vida o quanto mais bate nos bixos ja que recursos sao bem escassos.
> O sistema é de mapas (fases) fechados onde voce precisa explorar e pode voltar quando quiser. Acho que funcionou muito bem com o estilo do jogo
> Nao tem mapa - Isso junto o ponto de cima deixa voce mais focado nos detalhes dos mapas que é feito de forma excelente.
> Lore do jogo, há muitos itens dos jogos e dialogos dos personagens que constroem a narrativa do jogo e acho que foi muito bem feita. Tema é uma guerra civil ocorrendo entre naçoes e a sub-trama de criaturas que nao se sabem a origem atacando defirentes locais.
> Mecanica de registro do log dos acontecimento. Ele é em formato de mapa que você consegue ver como aquele item se relaciona com outra informaçao, isso ajuda demais depois que vc tenta entender que raios precisa ser feito ou como personagem A tem relaçao com mapa B.

> Enimigos repetitivos, acho que existem uns 4-5 tipos de criaturas, e o que muda sao as fase (1-3). Gostaria de ver mais criaturas diferentes.
> Mais estilos de arma - Elogiei acima os poderes das armas (4 estilos), porem a mecanica de duas espadas é a mesma independendo do tipo de poder que escolhe, seria legal se tivesse alguma diferença, dessa forma daria mais vontade de tentar outros poderes/armas.
> Puzzles muito dificeis( hahaha) - Eu eloguei que existem muitos puzzles, mas alguns deles nao parecem ter conexao logica (talvez é skill issue) de itens que vc pega para entregar para outros personagens (good deeds). 画面、美术、剧情顶级，就是玩法太小众了，建议玩之前先梳理好会错过的任务。喜欢黑魂箱庭探索的玩家会容易上手一些。唯一缺点就是地图怪全清那个成就太恶心了，就差一个成就就全成就了，最后找了几个小时都没找到，感觉是出bug了。经过不懈地努力终于找到最后一只怪了，看来还是不能急躁。

After beating the game, I can't really recommend it at this state.

Honestly, I was intrigued from the start with the story and characters so I ignored the clunky gameplay and small issues to go on and explore this world. However, the more I played - the more it felt like a torture.

Combat system and enemies - are completely blend and repetitive. There are literally 4 types of enemies 95% of the game. After beating a few of them in the first hours - it just feels the same till the end of the game.

Weapons and consumables system is strange as well, I ended up with full inventory of weapons (30+) and tons of consumables - not knowing what to do with them. There is no system to utilize them differently or break them into parts that you actually need or smth.

The biggest problem for me was the navigating through the game ... no map? No quest marks? Seriously? In 2026? You call it a feature? If I have to google a map from a website - your game will not get a recommend. It's not immersion - it's just a sloppy attempt to spend more time in the game getting lost or frustrated. All maps are designed in a way where there are "points of no return", where if you forgot something and want to get 20 meters back - you can't. You need to run around the whole map again to return. Maybe 60% of the time in the game I spent running around for no reason trying to figure out these tricks instead of enjoying the game.

This game has nothing to do with being Souls-like. That's a trap.

The story that got me interested in the beginning - ended up the biggest disappointment for me ... I am the person that reads all the notes, item descriptions and lore-related things in the game. I will not spoil, but all the main questions I had - were left unanswered. I think authors had this approach that it is "up to your imagination", but to me it looks like a lazy narrative. In my opinion this is just an unended and unexplained story. I even tried to search online the meaning of things described in the game - but there is actually nothing ...

Overall the game feels like someone just needed to recycle game assets quickly. Definitely not worth a full 30$+ price.

Fix your writing, finish your story. Add a Map that opens up with things you discover. I understand why you don't want to put "quest marks" since it's a puzzle game (surprisingly not mention in tags) and you want people to figure out the puzzles themselves, but it can be done in a better way for sure. Fast travel or speed travel is a must.

極力不推薦,超級不推薦，先別說他媽跟血源、隻狼、黑魂這種神作來比,就算是普通的類魂,他媽也是一坨垃圾,他媽什麼白癡的設計師想出來的垃圾設計,怪他媽要攻擊前,他媽完全看不出來他到底什麼時候要攻擊,前搖極不明顯,好不容易看懂那雞八的詭異動作就開始給你堆怪,然後他媽的一堆糞招,操你媽,4隻怪加在一起再加一個他媽的實體,然後他媽的5隻攻擊欲望都一樣強,這樣是要打三小啦,他媽的設計師有沒有自己玩過啦,那隻遠程的最雞巴,跟身體裡的實體還會打配合,如果遠程的怪一直放一堆蛋蛋or一堆針的那招,別說防禦了,閃避也閃不了,連段的次數又高到噁心,唯一可以破那兩招的方法就是極度進身的瘋狂連擊那隻怪,但問題當下還有一隻他媽的實體在旁邊噁心你,不先打實體還解決不了遠程怪,在實體冒出來之前雖然可以靠某些遠程招式連段暈眩,只要實體沒出來就不會怎樣,可問題是有些時候丟個遠程的招實體就直接冒出來了,更別說有其他多怪的場景+這隻遠程的,根本玩都不用玩,打贏這隻怪變成僅憑運氣,祈禱他沒放遠程的雞巴連擊,這什麼白癡設計,純運氣成分才能贏是他媽腦袋裝屎才會想把他塞進流程裡吧???
怪的設計極度不合理,多怪時硬把糞招保留,每個實體又有各自的糞招吃到即死的那種,讓大部分的戰鬥都搞的跟boss戰一樣,多怪的戰鬥要嘛是主角機體夠靈活,要嘛就是怪要拔掉一些一對一時會出現的糞招,什麼都不改就堆在一起,不會做遊戲可以他媽改行,不要做這種垃圾來噁心人,幹,而且要玩到這種噁心場景也要等威協程度到三的時候才會遇到,早就超過3小時不能退款了,前後難度落差太大,玩家對後面關卡難度落差就跟著擴大,再加上一堆需要運氣成分才能贏的戰鬥,他媽再說一次,不會做遊戲可以他媽改行,不要做這種垃圾來噁心人,幹
還有他媽這個路線是在設計三小,一堆沒有意義的白癡支線,他媽的走過去什麼屁都沒有,專門單純的噁心玩家而已,沒有地圖他媽有沒地圖的設計好不好,玩這遊戲真的是在浪費時間,操

Absolutely recommended game. Gameplay-wise is relatively easy, with enemies being predicable and not hitting very hard. You can ramp up difficulty or lower it on the settings with sliders.
The interesting part is the exploration, puzzles and story. The whole game is devoted to it and does it amazingly well. Simple but not easy, quick to solve but not instant. It really gives you a well-earned feeling of "power fantasy" regarding puzzles/exploration.

I know this games "Compatibility" says it doesn't work on SteamDeck. But I am currently playing on a SteamDeck and it seems to be running fine. I am only just now in the trench part and found otis' goldplated watch. The game gives me vibes of the first Darkness game mixed with Fantasy Star Universe meets The Last Remnant, only more adult and lone wolf like Solid Snake in MGS. So far I like the game and the atmosphere it has. But I am still at the beginning and also like those other games. And so, to each their own.

По мне так офигенная игра. Неспешная, медитативная. Отсутствие карты и маркеров только плюс. Единственная игра в которой я прочитала все диалоги, записки и т.д. Составляла заметки очень редко, так как большинство просто откладывается в мозгу и + остается в инвентаре или есть по близости. В итоге прошла где-то 80% своими силами. Отлично тренирует память. История очень интересная, мистическая и затягивающая. Дизайн потрясающий, залипательный. Тайминги в боевке ненапряжные, запоминающиеся. На прокачку практически не нужно отвлекаться, что считаю плюсом. Сама боевка выглядит неплохо. При первом прохождении на средней пользовалась расходниками, при втором на сложной ниразу. Думаю сложность можно было и подкрутить. Часов на игру достаточно, ни больше ни меньше, устать не успела. Духоты не ощутила. Надеюсь на ДЛС или вторую часть. Очень не хватает подобных игр.

A pesar de que es un tremendo juegazo que abarca temas muy crudos, este jueguito desafortunadamente no fue muy conocido.

La ambientación de una guerra civil es lo que más emociones te causa. Ayudar a una niña que vio como bombardearon a su familia o ayudar a un grupo de mujeres que sufrieron lo peor de la guerra es solo la punta del iceberg de la crueldad que refleja este juego.

Su sistema de juego es la de un soulslike que a pesar de que no es tan desafiante se siente bien hecho. Tiene sus capas de profundidad pero en mi caso se resumió en hacer parry y matar de 2 a 3 golpes.

La música es más ambiental que otra cosa y la historia a mi parecer es normalita, se ve muy opacada por el lore del mundo.

El juego tiene demasiados puzzles, no soy fan de tener que acordarme de una fecha para realizarlos correctamente, posiblemente lo que menos me gustó del juego.

Увидел у стримера PoleznyiBes, когда можно было попробовать только самое начало игры - в итоге понравилась, сейчас дошёл до финала сам. Что могу сказать - тем кому нравится изучать мир, который терзает и гражданская война (где нету "правильной" или "хорошей" стороны) и параллельно с этим происходит мистика - игра будет отличной находкой. Тех кого не затянут обзоры или мнения - наверное лучше не стоит начинать. Под конец немного поддушивает (но скорее всего из-за того что хотел отыскать ВСЁ и постараться получить 100% достижений).
Игра хорошая, мне однозначно понравилась, но опять таки лучше сначала посмотреть какое-то мнение или начало прохождения, чтобы определится со мнением и желанием.

Interesting world, powers, combat setups. Adjustable difficulty which I appreciated. Some of the minor sidequests are somewhat a pain, but I appreciated the old school approach of no mini map, take notes and figure out the world on your own. It's completely possible to fail sidequests if not completed on time.

Overall tone, though, t's a solid game, but set on background of about five jumbo helpings of genocide. You've been warned.

I beat this game out of spite. when i described this game to others they pointed to the devs other games and stated i was being trolled and i honestly wish that was my conclusion having played it.

First, the limited good. I like that they pointed out the main character is a sociopath, it explained why there was not reaction, commentary or thought from the MC about the bs they were seeing. This isnt a good thing but at least it explains it. I like the concept of emotional powers even if the way they worked out was alittle boring. The game did a amazing job with the sub cast and keeping both side of the conflict disgusting so that i never sided with any of them emotionally, just the victims. Thats it really, now for the bile that this game filled mw with.

This game not only lies about what type of game it is but self deceives itself in what it should have been. This game amounts to, by the end, 1 part soulslike to 2 parts sierra adventure game and its so poor at the first one that they should have just removed the combat and just made it a adventure game, solving puzzles. The combat is BORING, theres only 1 attack combo per weapons type. your "strong" attack is just a sit and charge and waste energy for a slightly stronger attack that will likely miss most of the attacks due to your character not adjusting positioning midsequence. the glyphs are... interesting but i barely touched them until the end. i liked that you could get health back using a mechanic that they stole from nioh for ki regain, but the enemies seemed to be able to see the ring too and teleport in to hit you when ever you actually needed to use it.

One of the glyphs, ecstasy, i never touched because it self damages you and its gear works only when youre at low hp...... which would be fine except the devs made it so your stamina bar goes down with your HP bar so getting to the point that they worked meant you couldnt block, dodge or attack without getting winded. the stamina system is garbage as is but those skills are awful because of it.

There are 2 boss fights in the entire game and they are the only possible entertaining fights in it. they arent difficult because by the time they happened you had fully leveled weapons and armor but atleast some effort was put into it. every single other fight is just a button mash with 2 exceptions. You can tell they had no idea how to do combat in this game because its only threatening enemy is the ranged guys, who you can tell they LOVE because while every single other enemy gets 2-3 combos, the ranged guys have 6 indiviual attcks. they can dash attack you, dashbackwards and swing at you, throw 1 blade, charge a big bomb, throw 2 tracking bombs, lob 2 sets of 4 bombs or when you get close, summon 12 blades and just rain them down on you while they fly out of range. these enemies are always put on ledges you cant reach without running way around, and there are so few ranged options in their game it feels like is was done to protect the ranged enemies. theyre protected from being pulled because they arent on the same section of floor as you so that cant be targeted and there is only like 3 glyphs split up amount them all that dont follow the ground and can thus hit them.

The puzzles are..... fine for the most part. my gripes here come from 2 different things they often did. this game should have been a adventure game, because they love making you get things from different, unrelated, unmentioned maps to resolve things. the number of times ive picked up a item, went thru the entire map and completed the area just to search for what the item is actually for and finding out it was for somewhere else entirely that there was no mention of on the item or any documents in that area is infurating. to top it off, theres a cutscene any time you entre the APC. go somewheren in the APC, and then arrive in the APC. can you skip them? yes, but its 4 seconds of waiting for the damn cutscene to skip so it can load another thats completely pointless and should have been able to turn them off from the settings.

The other puzzle type were the ones the devs seems to try their hardest to mislead you about the solution, it doesnt happen too often, most of them being optional mysteries but dear god its painful enough having to write down every aspect of this games puzzles, dont make me have to question whether your lying to me as well!

By the end i realized what this game was, it was someones book with world building that they put a bunch of effort into but couldnt get a publisher, so they slapped in some hack and slash in a game and pushed their book as game lore. I cant recommend this game, there were so few moments of enjoyment and so, so much irritation that by the end i just wanted to finish it.

This game is very much an old school RPG and it's been a long time since I've played anything like it. The core of the game is exploration, the collection of clues and lore, and a lot of detective work. The combat is there if you want to hack and slash, but you can decide the combat difficulty by adjusting the game settings. You can make the combat easy if you just want to explore your way through the beautiful and haunting environments. I'm playing the game on GeForce Now with all settings maxed so the game looks exquisite.
I have to say something about the setting and the story since it's so central to the game. No spoilers, but you should know about this. In 1980 Josep Tito the dictatorial ruler of Yugoslavia died. He had been the leader of the country since WW2 and had held it together through force. When he was gone the seven different ethnic groups went their own way and through a series of vicious wars became indepedent states. One of the most vicious of these wars was between Croatia and Serbia. The UN intervened and sent a peacekeeping force which was directly involved in the fighting. The war was often genocidal and the world learned a new term, ethnic cleansing. People who had lived side by side in peace for decades were suddenly murdering each other in the most brutal and merciless ways. The game takes place in that setting with all names and places changed and set in a fictional country of course. The game asks what would happen if acts of cruelty by humans actually spawned horrific monsters that are formed of intense human emotions. The game throws the player into the midst of this scenerio. How will you behave? Take sides, be neutral, try to help the helpless, or just pursue your own goals?
The game doesn't hold your hand and you actually need to remember a great deal about the geography of the game locations. There are a lot of puzzles and locked doors that you may not find the means to open until later in the game so you need to remember where all those places are located. You need to talk to a lot of NPCs and often more than once, as items and clues you find may open more dialogue options with them. In other words the game works like the traditional RPGs from back in the day. I'm enjoying it, and understanding the setting and why the game was made adds a great deal to it's impact. I wish there were more games like it, but the advent of the cell phone and the internet has meant that games like this don't sell well which is very sad.

It's overwhelmingly meh. I honestly walked into this game expecting it to be a souls like. This is a PUZZLE game with souls like combat at most.

It's not a Souls Like, it's a puzzle game. And it should be defined as such for the popular tags. It has *some* combat, but there's only four weapons, you've seen every enemy by the third or fourth area, and you spend more time running back and forth solving said puzzles.

The soundtrack is pretty boring and forgettable. There's nothing remarkable there. I love a good soundtrack

There's plenty of lore and story for people who love that ♥♥♥♥. The tldr is some sort of religious civil war that I feel like is supposed to be some sort of commentary on real life conflicts. Anyways, you'll find yourself hating both of them. The main character says so little I honestly forget he speaks and I don't even know his name. They clearly state he's a high functioning sociopath and you can tell the guy isn't all there in the head because he doesn't react to anything around him in a big way.

Infact that seems to just kind of be a problem with this game in general. In Jovah (one of the first areas you go to), if you kill the enemies outside infront of the soldiers, nobody acknowledges you can kill the monsters that guns don't do anything to (very minor spoilers, literally shown in one of the first cutscenes of the game). It only seems to be acknowledged once so far in Marastan. I don't know if I'll keep playing to see if that becomes a big story point, but I thought I'd mention it here.

The combat has customizable difficulty, that being how much damage and health the enemies have, and also being able to turn on the ability for them to respawn (by default they perma death), and you can also tune enemy aggression. I found the game on its basic settings to be pretty easy, and I think it's less the damage or health they have and the fact that they just aren't very hard to fight at all. I chose to not play with increased damage or health because making the enemies immortal sandbags that take a year to kill isn't challenging, just annoying.

You have glyphs which are abilities you can use in combat. In all the time I've played the only glyphs you need are the basic red/rage ranged attack that's also an AOE. It works for everything. You can genuinely mash square for every enemy in the game if they're in melee range. Early on you can get a talisman...ring---oh defensive gear thats right, so anyways you can get one of those that gives you health and stamina back on kill, on top of a glyph that heals you. Basically you have to really really suck at this games combat (which you can make easier if you need to) to struggle. You're more likely to die by falling off a ledge than to the enemies.

You also have drone abilities...they're all basically useless and I've never went 'oh ♥♥♥♥ thank god I had DEATH FROM ABOVE, I WOULD'VE GOT FOLDED IF I DIDN'T USE IT'. What I'm saying here is that the combat is slightly more complicated than Dynasty Warriors but you don't even get any nifty combos to do to make it interesting. You pair that with the lack of enemy variety and its very boring. It isn't bad. If you had more than three dudes to fight and maybe three or four more weapons I think that'd really make it decent.

I specifically hate puzzle games. I've never beaten a Zelda game and I never ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with Resident Evil. I'm playing this alongside my dad and that's the only reason I've been bothering to play it. I wish I bought it on sale but I bought it the same day my dad did and well that's 50$ right there. Anyways so knowing all of that, I will now ♥♥♥♥♥ about the puzzles.

I struggled more with not finding pieces to the puzzles that would let me solve them, than actually having to solve the puzzles. There's a lot of backtracking, and running back in forth with no fast travel or any method to make yourself move faster. So it gets irritating really quick. That's about it on that. I'm sure someone somewhere likes these.

The game has this system called good deeds. You give NPCs an item and they say thank you. You do enough of them and you meet an NPC that lets you get rewarded for doing them. With what? Don't know. I missed five of them because I progressed past Act 1 and all the NPCs I would've been able to help disappeared or died. So IF YOU PROGRESS WITHOUT DOING THE GOOD DEEDS IN THAT ACT, be prepared to miss out on those rewards.

Speaking of rewards, the exploration rewards ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ suck. They're either key items for puzzles, lore, one of the 4 weapons, a glyph you'll never use (if you ever feel useless, just remembers there's a glyph in this game that lets you turn invisible to all four enemies you'll find in this game) because they don't change how you play at all. The only other rewards either refill your FP/Mana/Dumbass Glyph Bar, or give you damage resistance to enemy types. I imagine if you crank up the damage the enemies do to you they actually become useful. They're useless otherwise.

You have to explore every nook and cranny of this game or you might miss something important. That's not that big of a deal, exploration is fine, but the exploration ranges between it being a important key item or a useless item you'll never use, and that's pretty lame.

I looked online and there only seems to be one ending to the game. No mention of a true or secret ending. So good deeds are entirely optional and unlock...♥♥♥♥ you probably won't use, from the few that I did do.

As of writing this I just got the Keystone of Terror, which is a key item you need to progress the game. Anyways holy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ this boss was ass. You run around in pitch black listening to some skin crawling ass screaming, and you're supposed to run towards it. At some point the boss actually came out to fight me after doing this enough, and I wasn't sure if its because I ran enough or if its because you had to have a terror (green) weapon equipped. Just an annoying ass fight.

However the game ran pretty well on my rig, and I've encountered no bugs so far, so I can't say the game is unoptimized garbage. However I wish my dad and I picked it out two weeks later so I could've saved 25$. Buy this on sale. If you like exploration and puzzles you'll probably like this game. I don't know if I'll play it to completion or not but I figured I'd talk about it.

The following lines are only the first impressions — as in, if it makes sense to buy it and try it out from the perspective of an avid adventure / RPG player.

Tl;dr Yes.

At first it feels like a walking simulator with an eerie soundtrack, and ocassional adventure element. After a while, the adventure elements start piling up, and they are neither overdone nor simplistic. After another while, it all starts to unfold into a combat-focused thing, adventure elements still keep piling up, getting more complex, too. Then the combat really unfolds, starts to feel a bit demanding, hinting that it eventually may become even very nice.

Colour me impressed. Progressively steady learning curve, the need to use your gray matter, no hand-holding, spot-on, nicely depressive atmosphere.

I still don't know how it's going to turn out after many hours, but I am sure that I won't refund.

El juego me está fascinando. De todos los juegos que tengan alguna inspiración souls, este es el que mas he disfrutado. La ambientación, la historia, los personajes, el sistema de combate, la música, los desafíos y puzzles. Genuinamente, hacía mucho no me entretenía tanto con un juego.
Pero he presentado algunos problemas, el más recurrente es al tener que seleccionar un objeto para poner en un desafío, el juego no me deja colocarlo, teniendo que ir a cualquier checkpoint, guardar, salir, volver a entrar e ir a ese puzzle a resolver lo que estaba haciendo. Pero el mayor error que he presentado fue cuando combatiendo a un Hollow de triple Haze, los Hazes desaparecieron, no podía hacerle daño al Hollow hasta que después de cierto tiempo, aparecieron los hazes y murieron instantaneamente, dejando al hollow a pocos golpes y arruinando esa experiencia de jefe. Con las cosas buenas y los errores presentado, si le dedico 9 de mis 10 pajas esta noche. 😎👍

Al principio te encanta, porque es poner en una licuadora un Resident Evil clásico para los puzles, un Dark Souls rebajao con mucha agua para el combate y algún ingrediente RPG más, tipo Morrowind, para la exploración basada en pistas. Solo que Morrowind tiene mapa y un diario que se va actualizando. Aquí tienes que apuntar las cosas a mano si no quieres volverte loco, porque la cantidad de puzles y de secretos es abrumadora, y precisamente a un juego así le pegaba un mapa. No pongas marcadores si no quieres, pero un maldito mapa es básico, por Dios. Así que al final acabas harto de dar vueltas sin rumbo, de apuntarlo todo y de no saber que lo que busca un NPC está en otra maldita región a no ser que lo mires en internet.

El combate termina siendo aburrido y tedioso también, y aunque le bajes la dificultad, es un coñazo tener que destruir a un titiritero de esos porque si no reviven todos los enemigos, además de que, por cierto, como se te ocurra saltar entre regiones, que sepas que TODOS los enemigos que has ido limpiando del mapa vuelven a aparecer. Ah, y desde aquí quiero apuntar un detalle que no le he visto a nadie criticar, el agua, EL AGUA es tu mayor enemigo en este juego, te caes con una facilidad pasmosa a cualquier charca o rio y estás muerto, no es lo típico de que apareces al borde de donde te has caído, sino que vuelves al último punto de guardado.

Otro motivo por el que no recomiendo este juego es su rendimiento. Es totalmente jugable pero está hecho con Unreal Engine 5 y cómo no, las caídas de FPS son constantes, en algunas zonas hasta 45, y tengo un PC bastante decente en el que acabo de pasarme Resident 9 con todo al máximo sin una sola caída de FPS.

Had an unexpectedly good time exploring. The puzzles weren't too hard as long as you pay attention and read. Some people complained about the act 3 difficulty spike. I don't see what the issue is. Act 1 and 2 you could get away with button mashing. For the end of the game they are asking you to actually use the mechanics, strategize and play smart. Great job team, curious to see if a part 2 get's made.

Genuinely becoming one of my favorite games, I've been enjoying this so much!!

I recommend this game.

What stands out the most for me is the exploration and its complex story. You really have to pay attention, read a lot, and connect the pieces yourself as you explore the map.

The atmosphere is one of its strongest points — both the environments and the background music fit perfectly, creating a very immersive experience.

It’s also worth mentioning that I’ve seen many reviews comparing this to a “souls-like,” but in my opinion, it really isn’t. The focus of the game is completely different.

Combat is not its strongest aspect. There is some variety in attacks and customization, but enemies can feel repetitive. That said, I don’t think combat is the main focus — the narrative and world-building clearly are.

From a technical standpoint, I barely encountered any bugs. I only had one crash after 30+ hours, which was probably on my end. FPS drops slightly when entering new areas, but it stabilizes quickly.

If I had to suggest an improvement, it would be more enemy variety or increased difficulty. I played on the hardest setting and only died a few times.

Also, I could easily spend several more hours to fully complete the game.

Overall, I really enjoyed it for its atmosphere, music, and the way it makes you engage with its story.

Avant toute chose, sachez que le jeu n'est PAS un souls-like contrairement à bien des rumeurs. Il en a beaucoup de codes, notamment côté gameplay, mais la difficulté est bien plus abordable. Par exemple, il y a 3 modes de difficultés disponibles, de nombreuses améliorations qui rendent le jeu plus simple, un système de regain de santé très pratique et les ennemis ne réapparaissent pas à chaque sauvegarde.

Secondement, n'étant justement pas adepte des souls-like et des jeux trop difficiles en règle générale (Je joue avant tout pour me détendre après une dure journée de taf, pour profiter d'une histoire riche, de décors intéréssants ou me défouler par exemple), j'étais assez réticent au départ à l'idée de tester Hell Is Us.

J'ai fini par me laisser tenter au vu des nombreux avis positifs de testeurs et youtubeurs que je follow... Et heureusement que la curiosité est un de mes défauts car j'ai tout simplement adoré l'aventure !

L'histoire et le lore sont très développés, avec une vraie richesse et une réelle profondeur dans l'intrigue, les dialogues, les différents conflits politiques et/ou religieux qui opposent le peuple, les boucles temporelles, les questions éthiques et les ressentiments (la haine, le chagrin, la terreur, etc). Le jeu raconte quelque chose du début à la fin.

Le gameplay se rapprochant d'un souls-like, il est assez classique aux premiers abords (parade, blocage, esquive, attaque), vous avez une jauge d'endurance pour les coups, de "mana" pour les capacités magiques, des compétences actives que vous déclenchez avec le drône qui vous suit et bien entendu, tout un attirail d'armes à une ou deux mains pour vous battre. Le jeu n'a pas la lourdeur que l'on peut ressentir sur certains souls-like, à mon sens, le gameplay se rapproche plus d'un "Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order", mais sans parcours (le personnage ne pouvant pas sauter).

Côté durée de vie, comptez 20 heures pour arriver au bout de l'aventure et faire pas mal d'annexes en même temps. Pour vraiment finir à 100%, vous pouvez facilement taper le double. Comme le jeu comporte beaucoup d'énigmes et très peu d'aides et d'indications, il pourrait être très compliqué pour beaucoup d'en venir à bout sans guide (J'avoue, j'ai usé de soluces pour beaucoup de quêtes). De même, en fonction de la difficulté, certains passages seront forcément plus coriaces (J'ai moi-même joué la majorité du jeu en facile, pour profiter sans rager, mais le jeu est sincèrement faisable en normal pour le commun des joueurs).

Mention spéciale pour l'audio, j'ai beaucoup aimé la discretion des musiques qui te laisse profiter des effets sonores franchement réussis mais surtout, de la présence d'une VF de qualité et intégrale !

Terminons par LE point qui m'a juste scotché du début à la fin, à chaque instant : Les graphismes. Techniquement déjà, c'est solide. C'est beau, fluide, l'optimisation est bonne, les réglages graphiques nombreux, beaucoup d'effets de lumières, de particules, etc... Mais là où le jeu m'a mis une gifle, c'est de loin sur la direction artistique !

La D.A est splendide, tout simplement. Chaque zone du jeu à sa propre identité, l'impression de grandeur, ou parfois de désespoir, de vide, de destruction qui ressort des environnements est incroyable. C'est chaque fois un plaisir de découvrir ce que les artistes et graphistes du jeu ont pu imaginé et crée, et bien que souvent labyrinthique, évoluer dans les niveaux est un régal !

Je fini quand même par les points négatifs que j'ai relevé :

Premièrement, j'ai fais la quasi totalité du jeu avec la même arme car je trouve que l'arsenal manque de variété, le jeu ne t'incite pas vraiment à adapté ta façon de jouer en fonction des ennemis et j'aurai aimé davantage de diversité de ce que côté.

De même, le fait de ne pas pouvoir sauter peut parfois être énervant car l'on doit faire des détours complets quand nous sommes bloqué par un mur de 50 centimètres de hauteur, c'est idiot.

J'aurai vraiment aimé la présence d'une carte par niveau, car le jeu demande un sacré sens de l'orientation et une mémoire à tout épreuve vu le nombre d'aller-retours, d'impasses et d'embranchements. Je vous préviens toute de suite : Vous allez souvent vous paumés.

L'ergonomie de l'inventaire n'est pas toujours aisée, en cause, le fait de ne pas pouvoir se débarrasser des objets inutiles (ni les vendre, ni les casser, ni les stocker, ni les jeter). Vous garderez TOUS les objets trouvés sur vous jusqu'à la fin du jeu (armes, utilisables, collectables, notes). Ceci dit, c'est sans doute mon côté maniaque qui me frustre la dessus.

Enfin, LE véritable et malheureux gros point noir, la fin du jeu. Expéditive, beaucoup trop classique et clairement largement en dessous du reste de l'intrigue côté écriture. Je ne développerai pas pour éviter le spoil mais en gros : Tu fais tout péter, un suppo et au lit. C'est vraiment la grosse douche froide tant on s'attend à un dernier mystère, une grosse révélation, des explications plus claires, mais au final, rien de tout cela...

Malgré tout, une excellente surprise et un petit coup de coeur inattendu pour ma part !

Un bon jeu, pas le jeu de l’année mais un très bon jeu pour passé le temps si t’aime te bousiller le cerveau à résoudre des énigmes, t’es servis niveau gameplay je mets un petit 6/10 les attaques son répétitifs selon les armes et t’en a que 4 ou 5, se qui rajoute du plus c’est les pouvoirs que t’as en plus des attaques au corps à corps à la base 5/10 mais j’ai rajouter un point par au port au pouvoir, les mobs t’as pas réellement de bosses et t’en a très peu de différent donc tu croise toujours les mêmes jusqu’à la fin du jeu, l’histoire est classique, la fin un peu bâclé c’est dommage, mais en tout ouais un bon petit 14/20, J’y ai pris du plaisir en vrai, les seuls moment où ça m’a saoulé c’est littéralement à cause de moi parce que mon cerveau avait du mal à creuser sur certains énigmes, mais hormis ça en vrai il était pas mal très innovant le côté débrouillard mais un peu trop, je trouve, il faudrait trouver un juste milieu, mais pour ma part pas du tout déçu du jeu, voilà voilà !

PS : Si vous êtes tenté de le faire mettais le vraiment dans la catégorie des jeux à faire mais quand tu sais vraiment plus à quoi jouer quoi !

This game is definitely more story focused than combat focused. I ended up enjoying my time playing the game and eventually strived to 100% the game. I'd give it 9/10.

Worldbuilding: Excellent. You come to quickly realize how messed up an closed off area fighting constant wars for thousands of years can be and the impact it has over time. Very Dystopian. Then the current issues come into play and their impact on already chaotic waters.

NPCs: Everyone can be talked to and you learn about different perspectives of the world you now survive in. Most I didn't really grow attached to but a few made me feel guilty enough to do a second partial playthrough to fix some mistakes I made.

Combat: Both dull and flashy. There are 9 different enemies in the game but they all pretty easy to fight. You get some flashy ability that are pretty cool but fights don't last that long. There are finishers but they're... janky. You see the interaction and click it... then click it a few more times... then finally a fully animated execution cutscene goes off. They introduced a neat post-damage healing function that felt weird to use at first but I grew to like it a lot.

Puzzles/Mysteries: There are plenty in the game and often requiring you to solve it to continue the story. They can range from Skyrim (symbolism, patterns, or pressure plate) puzzles, safe pin codes, deciphering riddles, to needing to gather multiple sources of journals, note or items to figure out a code. Most can be solved easily but some to quite a while. The internet helps if you get stuck as well.

二进宫。
第一次玩的时候被迷宫搞得晕头转向，也因为记忆力有限，很不适应这的没引导，边玩边骂骂咧咧，通关后更是痛批迷宫。
但两个月后又忍不住玩了第二次，
这一次有了些许经验，会做笔记了，也懂得找Google Gemini帮忙，迷宫总算觉得没之前难了，战斗也更轻松了，谜题也不会总在原地找答案浪费时间了。总算大部分成就都拿到了。

我的评价是：
1、好玩，但并不适合大部分人。
2、沉重，非常黑暗。故事背景、大量文本、以及写实的场景，就是无穷无尽的黑暗，让共情的我非常压抑。
所以，不建议有些暴躁或者抑郁的人玩。

das ist mein erstes soulslike spiel und ich muss sagen, ich bin beeindruckt. es hat mich von ersten minute an gefesselt das spiel. die story ist interessant mit dem krieg in dem geteilten land, diese geheime organisation dann die wache die seit jahrhunderten versucht alle zu beschützen. die grafik hat mir auch sehr gefallen von den einzelnen gebieten und die atmospäre und von den verschieden Npcs die man treffen kann. die rätsel sind anspruchsvoll und regen zum denken an (notizen helfen). die gegner sehen top aus, menschlich aber dann doch fremd, sind selbst auf normal herausfordernd, kampfsytem läuft flüssig, erlernt man schnell. Freue mich jedenfall auf einen zweiten Teil/ fortzetzung. und auf andere spiele von diesem entwickler zuhören. müsst ihr wissen

* В неё очень приятно и ненапряжно играть.
* Без карты и навигации исследовать действительно очень интересно.
* Продуманный, красивый и удобный интерфейс.
* Соундизайн и визуал очень хороши
* Логичность повествуемой истории
* Острота поднимаемых вопросов без душных механик.
* Игра акцентирует внимание та том, что действительно важно и не требует принудительно мучаться со второстепенными вещами.
* Легко следить за историей людей по механике диалогов.
* Внимание к деталям соразмерно поощряется.
* Удачно реализована смена сеттинга окружения. Тебе не успевает надоесть всё окружающее. И в локациях адекватная мотивация возвращаться по делам.
* Не так много из задуманного пришлось порезать перед релизом. Было хорошее планирование.
* Игра очень вовремя заканчивается.

Проблемы
- Тупорылая механика с квестовыми предметами.
- С одной стороны хорошо, что лишнего не отдашь, но если квест провален, то и предмет не убрать. И в итоге маленькая свалка.
- Но со всем остальным в инвентаре очень логичное разделение. Никогда такого не встречал и доволен

Это очень хороший продукт для медитативного гейминга.
Шарм трейлеров соответствует наполнению.
