I'm very worried that Hardspace: Shipbreaker is the best simulation game I'll ever play. It's a perfect synthesis of hard sci-fi hypercapitalism and creative game design. Shipbreaking in this game is as immensely satisfying to pull off correctly as it is visceral when you fat-finger a piece of metal through your helmet. The visuals are excellent and the soundtrack is a great example of the ever-elusive genre of interstellar bluegrass.

My favourite part of this game is how right wing chuds get triggered by a lesbian woman having voice lines in a game and the fact that it's an anti capitalist narrative.

Obviously it's exaggerated, it's a story set in the future about how corporations have gone too far and basically own people through massive amounts of essentially unpayable debt. For some reason, some people haven't actually realised that it's exaggerated to the point of comedy, they just see it as "omg leftist slop that thinks communism should be real". Let me tell you that left and right wing governments would have the same outcome, they would both push people into eternal slavery in an attempt to farm people for labour in perpetuity.

Play the game, cut some ships. If you don't like the narration, play one of the other modes. If you just want to cut ships there are 2 other modes where you can do that. Illiterate gamers will just rage about anything because they are chuds who got brainwashed by the internet instead of actually thinking for themselves.

As far as the actual game goes, I really enjoyed it. The movement and mechanics are very satisfying, it feels like you're moving around in space. The sound design is perfect, The physics feel very satisfying but also slightly frustrating, in a "frictional gameplay" manner. As you progress you will unlock tool upgrades and more tool abilities that will make your cutting job easier. The ships get more complex with systems that can cause death very easily, so you have to plan out your cutting so you dont accidentally explode yourself.

Very chill game, I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys physics based "puzzle" games. Looking forward to Shipbreaker 2.

Сюжет поначалу больше отвлекает. Хочется больше погрузится в работу, а тут какие то терки с компанией и профсоюзами. Хочется просто поработать и прочувствовать игру. А то так не успеваешь проникнутся идеями остальных работников. Тк мы тут новые и что и как тут с несправедливой корпорацией еще не прочувствовали. Но под конец сюжет разгоняется и заканчивается как раз тогда когда монотонный геймплей уже начинает надоедать и корабли разбираются на раз-два. Так что продолжительность игры - идеальная

Платина не сложная, главное во время общей забастовки выполнить цели оджной стороны, а потом не сохраняясь выйти и выполнить цели второй. Чтобы не проходить игру дважды.

Если любите собирать и строить. То уверен вам понравится и разбирать корабли

Hardspace Shipbreaker is one of those rare games that could be outstanding on the quality of its gameplay loop alone. The disassembly of the in-game spacecraft is challenging and feels dangerous, yet also manages to be incredibly satisfying when you figure out how to do it correctly. However, the finished version of the game has not only satisfying gameplay, but also a good plot that meshes perfectly with the themes inherent in taking apart huge, dangerous spacecraft. It's one of those rare games that knows exactly what it's doing, and does it well, without forcing the gameplay loop to significantly change to serve a solid plot with a good message.

The other reviews make too much of the dialogue. It is annoying that they made it un-skippable, but you only end up waiting for it to end a few times, and never for all that long. I think literally two minutes is the worst case. A shame if you're replaying, but pretty easy to shrug off if you're going through for the first time.
As for the gameplay itself, breaking down ships is a pretty interesting puzzle. Managing fuel, oxygen, and tethers is a little tedious at the start when they run out fast, but that does make upgrading your supplies a little more satisfying.
There are some moments of frustration, especially managing depressurization (the panel you need is always broken) and safely removing reactors. But not too much to live with.
Overall I do recommend this game, and I hope the developer uses these mechanics in a different concept later on.

Core gameplay is addictive and entertaining. Stripping stuff from spaceships and sorting parts into correct categories, while navigating zero-g environment and avoiding the many hazards involved comes with a sense of satisfaction and job well done. The gameplay doesn't get boring too quickly, even though there are technically only [spoiler]4[/spoiler] base ship models, because of numerous ship variants and also tool upgrades. After everything is unlocked though, the game doesn't have much more to offer and the engagement level quickly drops. Mods have some potential to extend playtime but there's not too many of them.

Shift timer is one of the more annoying aspects. Like having your work interrupted every 15 minutes and be forced to sit through 2 loading screens? This is this game's default difficulty level. Technically there's a ~500M fee for each day, but money doesn't really do anything. It feels like a clumsy way of triggering story monologues more frequently than the player would like to. All in all, a pretty pointless mechanic and I would recommend anyone to start the campaign on "easy mode", since the timer cannot be disabled mid-campaign.

Another annoying thing is moving superheavy structures that cannot be moved with regular tools. The game has a tool for that - tethers - but unfortunately they are very weak and can't actually move heavy parts at all, even if you spam multiple ones, so they are useless. Fortunately, the physics engine can be exploited in this case - just grab any physics object and gently push against the large part. Slow, but gets the job done.

Plot exists, but the player is not really a part of it, just passively listening to monologue after monologue, wordlessly doing their job like a good worker, while the NPCs are getting excited about worker rights and other such nonsense. It's worth noting that some monologues are unskippable and must be listened to while outside of main gameplay. This sucks.

A pretty unique title, has some annoying issues, but the core gameplay is solid.

a weird interesting game. It's a pretty straightforward concept, you cut up ships and put the parts in the right bin while trying not to destroy valuable parts. It's just satisfying and chill, it's a repetitive loop but it's not mindless clicking it's like a methodical puzzle that wants to explode in your face if you cut the wrong thing.

I started on regular mode with the shift timer and O2 drain, I ended up restarting on open shift though. I've never been a big survival-mechanics fan, survival busywork is more annoying than anything imo, so not having to deal with refilling my oxygen and not being forced to waste a few minutes heading to my bunk then back out to the ship again just makes the whole game more enjoyable for me (and easier to lose track of time). Other consumables still need to be refilled and tools still lose durability over time.

gotta say, though, new player onboarding is really rough. The opening narrative(?) that you have to sit through is basically a slideshow. Then you just sort of look at the UI for a while. The UI is, like, fine, but it's not great and it lacks nice touches of animation and sound. Then you finally get to start, and the first tutorial ship is so barebones I was actually thinking "what? this is it?" and just forced myself to get through it. It's worth getting past the first ~hour, once more mechanics get introduced and the training wheels come off it's really cool.

The gameplay loop is great, just wish it wasn't interspersed with such a bleeding heart leftoid storyline. It just has to shove its little whiny points in all the time and breaks up the game by forcing you to listen to why modern day earth is bad and blah blah blah. Lemme cut ships.

I love a story, but it has to be a good story, yknow? Telling me why I hate playing the game is just blatantly a stupid choice, but if you can get past the unlikable characters who refuse to shut up and the devs who apparently didn't know how to play to their audience, everything about the gameplay itself is superb.

Edit: 3 more hours in and I want to shove every character into the furnace.

The gameplay and the ship teardown are very fun and I can do it for hours.
The forced, unskipable, painfully slow dialog and plot dump that work like unscipable cut sceans are a huge down side to the game. They very much drag the gameplay to a screatching halt every time they happen. The plot makes the deep seeded hate I have for every corporate job every come back full force, so skipping the painfully slow dialog in the cut sceans would be great, but the actual gameplay is very enjoyable.

I'm not ragging on the game itself. It looks very interesting conceptually and like it has a rich set of mechanics. What I'm trying to contribute is a warning to anyone who might perhaps read my review before considering the game so that you might not make the same mistake I did. This game incorporates very realistic Newtonian physics and full 6-DoF environmental interaction, and I admit I didn't realize the interactive environment would be *that* in-depth as a simulation. If you're not comfortable with that kind of environment, this isn't the game for you (or me, as it turns out). It also admittedly doesn't teach you a great deal about how to do things even if you take the tutorial. Or maybe it'd be more obvious to someone who wasn't as disoriented simply trying to move around and take up correct positioning as I am (as a guess). If you can handle it, happy salvaging to you, and good luck dealing with LYNX Corporation. They're definitely up to no good.

Брал по скидке. Очень чиловая и приятная игрушка. Когда проходил компанию почти каждый корабль разбирал на 95%, не сильно сложно грубо говоря. Можно немного потерятся в пространстве т.к. к управлению придется привыкать. У меня самый большой затуп по итогу был с герметичностью, но решилось это просто отрыванием датчиков и постепенным вскрытием перегородок. А так, интересно разбираться в системах, их тут не то чтобы сильно много поэтому один из минусов. Приятный визуал, не режет глаз, художники прям постарались. Музло на любителя, я бы своей музыки в радио накидал, но тут такого не завезли. Сюжет в виде диалогов и строки внизу экрана (ну и куча записок в хабе) не то чтобы минус но на таймере приходится отвлекаться. Я бы рекомендовал на распродаже

This game is very much the "Job Simulator" you play after work. But it arrived a few hundred years too early. I play this to wind down at the end of the day and slowly pace out a large demolition project. The controls are pretty intuitive. The narrative is thin but, it is reasonably well voice acted. Worth a pickup on sale for sure.

The factor that time is money and you don't always have the right tools for the job sometimes puts some pressure into it, but nothing you can't handle. Este juego me da bastante tranquilidad. Me lo estoy pasando por segunda vez y mi única pena es no haber desactivado el tiempo antes de elegir la dificultad. Es de esos a los que les gustan juegos relajados pero a la vez tienes que estar atento a varias cosas.
Si fallas la muerte no es frustrante, la pérdida es el orgullo que no es poco, pero coges otra nave de las infinitas que hay y listo.

Recomendado para jugar mientras escuchas potcast o similares.

Great game with an endlessly enjoyable gameplay loop, 100% reccomendation if you can get it on sale. Biggest Issue: Not enough ship types! In a future sequel, I'd love more ship types with more differentiation between them; salvaging different cargo from freighters or liquids from tanker ships, maybe acquiring some grey-market arms from old military vessels. Otherwise, the story, though hammy at times, is fairly entertaining, and the soundtrack is unique for games with this aesthetic while still fitting the experience. Hope to see a sequel to this soon!

I've got almost 200 hours on this game. I enjoyed it a quite a bit.

As another reviewer said, it IS annoying that the cutscenes are unskippable, which definitely puts a dampener on subsequent playthroughs. With that said, however, I find the gameplay enjoyable enough that it's not a deal breaker for me.

I only wish they had a greater variety of ships to tear down. I got a lot of mileage out of what they have, but it did eventually just get old. For most games, I have little interest in DLC, but this is a game where I would love a DLC that adds in like 5-10 new ship types.

Loved this game! Feels great to play with a controller, and is similar to Outer Wilds in that way. The music and audio in general is pleasant. The storyline is straightforward--no real mystery--because the draw of this game is the gameplay loop, which I found to be immensely satisfying: break down decommissioned ships to earn money and earn your freedom.

I hope there's a sequel!

But the reason for the negative review is it appears the original devs sold the game to another company, and there has been nothing since then in the way of new content or gameplay. With the price remaining sort of high, I would only recommend this if it goes on sale, or if the new owners of the game actually plan on putting out new content/gameplay.

The game is much a puzzle game, taking apart spaceships without gravity is fun (even if it can trigger my motion sickness if I move too fast), the added obstacles as you rank up also keeps things interesting.

There is a story in the game but to be honest I just want to take apart spaceships, so I'm pretty neutral about that

If I had to say what parts of the game I found irritating, it would mostly be largely about some of the settings.
I would have greatly appreciated a setting that could toggle or have a slider for flashing lights. I have undergone some surgical procedures for my eyes, this means I have trouble seeing with the glare from bright lights but I also have terrible night vision and cannot see well with dim settings.
so I wish there was a setting that could deal with the brightness of the tool effects (e.g. the cutter tool) without targeting the overall brightness of the game.

I played with easier options like o2 slow drain and unlimited time mode and I can't recommend this game enough. I get why people complain about the un-skippable talking when you star breaking down a ship but I enjoyed the story enough that it didn't really bother me. All I want is more of this game but with bigger and complex ships in a DLC or a sequel.

I really want to like this game, but especially one thing stands in the way - the NPC characters I am constantly FORCED to listen to with no option to skip or not interact with.

They keep talking and I don't care. They talk sloooooowly about things I don't give a crap about. They force themselves into my ears and onto my screen and I have to just pause my game and sit there and do nothing, because I can't continue doing anything until they are done.

All I want to do is be a cool space salvager and not care about boring office drama and people's interpersonal problem. Let me be without it. And some of the "story" takes ages. Just incessant yapping.

Secondly, the endless tutorial is a problem.

I am currently on my 5th salvage ship, and I am still being tutorialised at because of some new gadget, that I would rather play around with myself. I want to fail or succeed at it myself and only see a tutorial if I feel like I need it. Ever.

If I finish the game it will stop me from ever playing a new save, because I just don't want to be forced through the endless tutorials and the NPC snorefest again.

Update after 2 more hours:
Still tutorials and even more loooooong unskippable exposition dumps that are more boring than watching paint dry - reminder, that you cannot do anything while the npcs talk.

Best solution for this is turning off voices and just leaving the game running while you do something else.

Итак, если вы хотите реально честный обзор - пожалуйста, тут вы можете попробвать поиграть в игру, которая является ярким примером того, что на геймдев в наше время сгнил напал. И похоже что сгнил полностью.
И эта игра является тому очень ярким примером, и это очень печально. Как бы я не хотел поставить палец вверх, но наплевательское отношение разраВРОТчиков к данному поделию мне не позволяет этого сделать. И это действительно крик души.
Тут вы можете лицезреть яркий пример, где в игру ввалили тонну бабла, но ввалили ради того чтобы просто ее продать. У разрабов была шикарная идея, они ее воплотили, студия вложилась в рекламу, бетка начала продаваться... И на этой стадии и студия, и разрабы забили на нее огромный БОЛТ и для них она стала просто продуктом, который продается - и так сойдет.
По факту - купив это ты получаешь игру в которой нужно утилизировать космические корабли, НО! Реально - всего 4.
1 -Их реально МАЛО! По факту - есть всего - то 4 типа, (первый, с которого мы начинаем)
1.1 (mackerel) - самый маленький, схема его разбора не любой сложности не меняется особо, сложности в нем нет никакой.
1.2. (atlas) маленький кораблик, у которого движки снять немного сложнее - как только ты поймешь как это делать - разберешь на любой сложности.
1.3. (javellin) - это геморрой, который не имеет смысла брать. длинная колбаса, которая имеет кучу тяжелых колец, которые довольно таки неудобно отковыривать. хороший повод скипнуть. Это разебрать неприятно даже проофессионалу.
1.4. (Gecko) - золотая середина. Здоровенная Е*анина, которую всегда разобрать проще всего. Но веселее от этого со временем не станет. Все узлы всегда на том же месте, алгоритм разбора всегда одинаковый.
А вот всё. по факту, в игре всего 4 корабля. они немного отличаются, но изменения минимальны.
1.5. (ии на этих корытах) - а это вы просто будете пропусакать, так, как брать корабли с ии не имеет никакого смысла. придется осматривать каждую часть, чтобы найтии узлы ии, за уничтожение каждого получаем 100к, но это просто копейки.
По факту мы имеем в игре 4 корабля в разных вариациях. с задачей их разобрать. Всё.
А теперь разнос по реальным минусам.
2.1. Сюжет. Да лучше бы его тут не было. !!!СПОЙЛЕРЫ!!! Профсоюзы? одной сменой навернули всю огромную корпорацию, (которая держит всю солнечную систему) и заставили ее начать выплачивать нормальные бабки и снять долги с работяг? Учитывая тот фактор, что эта корпорация может по щелчку пальцев убить всех клонов сотрудников, и нанять новых? бред полный.
Сюжет тут реально для галочки и запорот чуть более, чем полностью.
2.2 Всего 4 корбля. в разных варииациях, в завиисиимости от сложности.
Вы что, угараете? Да дайте мне sdk, и я лично вам сделаю два десятка разных кораблей за неделю! просто потому, что я боожаю эту игру и ненавижу разработчиков за такое маленькое кол0ичество контента.
2.3. потенциал. Реально - он тут чудовищный. можно добавить больше кораблей для разбора, можно добавить кооп, можно добавить новые механики, можно добавить НОРМАЛНЫЙ сюжет...
Да черт возьми, хотя бы ивенты добавить, ну? Но разработчики с релиза добавили только сочное ни*Yя. раскрытие потенциала - 1 из 10. дайте мне в руки это дело, и даже учитывая тот фактор, что я работаю за заводе по 11 часов в день - я бы и то больше контента сделал.
2.4 - обещали sdk, обещали что игроки смогут сами корабли делать, выкладывать в мастерскую, и всё такое. И не сделали его. нет никакой нормальной поддержки модов. Вопрос к разрабам - вы шо, ебобо? Ну если вам лень клепать для своей игры контент, ну дайте блин возможность игрокам доделать ВАШУ игру за ВАС. Дайте им нормальный SDK и они доделают вашу игру, чтобы этот кусок собачьего кала с огромным потанцевалом на шедевральную игру смог развиваться! за счет игроков и мододелов!
но нет, к сожалению - sdk спустя очень много времени так и не вышел.
5 - статистика. Разрабы ввели в игру таблицу лидеров. но только есть одна проблема - она вообще не обновляется. Как бы ты не усерался, сколько бы ты не разобрал корабликов - толку ноль.И зачем было вводить таблицу лидеров вообще?
!!! Напутствие разработчикам - Вопервых - введите кооп! Покупок вашей "игры" станет гораздо больше.
Во вторых - Или добавьте больше четырех кораблей и их вариаций, или ( что будет оптимальнее) - дайте народу sdk, чтобы он допилил вашу же игру за вас! та же bethesda постоянно так делает, и это действительно работает! а потом можно добавить лучшие работы в основную игру, развивать всё это и срубить на этом еще больше бабла. Да я блин еще сверху доплачу за пяток лишних типов кораблей!
2.5. Вы сделали в сюжете, что мы можем собрать собственный корабль?
Какого же полового органа не выпустить длс, где мы утилизируем всякий хлам на кладбищах кораблей и не зарабатываем бабки самостоятельно на улучшения своего утилизационного флота, и всё такое? Да практически все, кто взял это поделие за 2к рублей еще сверху бы отдали немного бабла за возможность развиваться дальше!
Эпилог!
1.В этой игре 4 корабля. Всё остальное - их вариации.
2.Вариативность.3 из 10.Изучив основные и простейшие механики можно будет разобрать вообще всё.
3. Сюжет - лучше бы его и не было.
4. sdk (моды) - модификаций практически нет.
5. Разработчики - после релиза на игру положен болт размером с Австралию. Никакой поддержки, никакого нового контента, вообще ничео.
Вывод: Прекрасный пример очень хорошей игры с огромным, ну прям чудовищным потенциалом, НО - по по факту объем контента гораздо меньше,, чем в среднестатистической инди - игре, качество сюжета отрицательное, поддержка и новый контент от разрабов - нулевой, и даже внутреигровая статистика не работает (чтоу бивает весь эндгеймовый потенциал.)
Геймплей - 8 из 10 (я не знаю почему, но меня прет разберать кораблики)
Сюжет - 1 из 10 - ну и бредятина
Графика - 6\10 - сойдет, но шедевров не нужно ждать
Эндгейм - 0\0 ну молодцы, добавили статистику, но она же н обновляется... Какой в этом смысл?
Эпилог - Прекрасная игра, с огромным потенциалом.... которую угробили чуть более, чем полностью.
Контента очень мало, ничего нового от разрабов ждать не имеет смысла, уже большее года ничего не добавили.
Уровень - ниже чем обычная инди - игра, не стоит и четверти от того, что за нее просят.
Не покупайте это, не спонсируйте ленивых разработчиков, которые кормят вас шиирпотребом
и обещаниями, оно того не стоит. Контента на 200 рублей не наберется, а просят за нее 2к.
P.s. Вся эта игра сделанна так,чтобы если ты это купил, то понял что ты купил максимально поздно, чтобы вернуть уже не получилось. Не повторяйте моих ошибок, оно и 10% не стоит то того, что за нее просят, мне стыдно за то, что я это купил.

A nice game with well programmed physiks and an overall nicely iplemented storyline.
But be aware... if you are looking for a more space exploring related game this isnt realy it, as you mostly spend your time in the same bay cutting up ships. Not that that is bad but its not like you might expect.

I got almost 35 hours and these are the moments you wish steam gave you a 3rd option other than recommended and not recommended. I guess I'll go with recommended but buy it during a sale. It's not a bad game and it's somewhat relaxing but after a while it gets repetitive. I was expecting to go to places, but you're always at the same place deconstructing ship after ship.

Goods: It does what it promises pretty well. It's fun to have a 6 DOF flight and the tools work nice. It's great that they added options to play it on your own pace too. The story is ok'ish but I don't think it adds much as it's basically the same big corporation in the future narrative. It adds levels of complexity as you go and that's nice as well. There are small touches, like the found messages or fixing the ship some char gave you. It's relaxing to play...for a while.

Bads: It does get repetetive. There are different ships and you need to take into consideration of doing certain things in a certain order so apart from those little differences, it's the same thing over and over again. I think it's kind of relaxing as well but accidents happen and sometimes there is nothing you can do about them. I just died because there was no way to decompress air on half of a big ship. I took 80 minutes to clear the first part. Taking my time, relaxed...Then this second part I just had to pick a spot and basically put a hole in the hull. So the ship yeets itself almost out of the game area - I didn't even know this was even a thing. So I went all the way there because I just spend almost 1.5 hours on this ship. And it started to give me the you're getting out of working area alarm...then I died. Huh. This makes the player feel unfair. I hate this feeling when playing a game. The other types of accidents are often like that as well. When a new danger is introduced you get a basic idea but doing it is a different story. Often you think I should be cutting here and bang you're dead. This kills the relaxing mood fast as you can imagine.

Overall if you're a space nerd, I recommend it but you might want to wait for a sale.

Я бы поставил среднюю оценку, была бы она. Это почти отличная песочница, которой безумно не хватает разнообразия.

Инструменты на протяжении всей игры никак не меняются, апгрейды наискучнейшие. Всё что можно улучшить - цифры дальности, мощности и количества. Механически инструменты остаются при прокачке такими же, какими вы их получаете по ходу сюжета.

Кораблей всего 4 типа и у каждого типа по 2-3 модели. Игровой цикл от корабля к кораблю никак не меняется после 4-5 часа игры: разгерметизировал все отсеки, отключил и утилизировал реактор, отключил и утилизировал генератор, расплавил все соединительные блоки, а потом несколько смен по 15 минут просто крутишься вокруг остова корабля и раскидываешь его составляющие по нужным зонам приёмки. К середине второго акта эта одна и та же последовательность действий безумно утомляет.

После 4-5 часа игра перестаёт давать новые испытания игроку. Окружение при этом в целом в игре никак не меняется. История абсолютно посредственная, никаких эмоций особо не оставляет. Но должен сказать, что к Уиверу всё таки прикипел за прохождение, и его финальный монолог слегка задел.

Крч хз. Исполнение очень добротное для инди-песочницы. Но слишком мало, и одновременно с этим растянуто.

If you're looking for something to occupy your while you watch a show or listen to a podcast this is the perfect game - it is perfectly satisfying taking these ships apart and work your way up the numbers (or down the debt number) getting ever bigger ships with more difficult to handle subsystems.

Just be prepared to pause that podcast quite a bit as there is quite the story unfolding via "chating with your foreman and colleagues via comms" brought to life so lovingly that you can't help be drawn into this universe and feel with your colleagues.
It also has what feels like a very (and always) revelant view on "the company is not your friend" and needing to fight for your rights lest you want to become a total slave.

I don't get why this game does not have an overwhelmingly positive, it is art, it is everything masterful game design is about:

If you love GUNPLA assembly as a hobby, GET THIS GAME and after about 4 hours in you will be like OH MY F**KING GOD WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?

When you get to the 3rd and 4th ship in the campaign, you will really begin to realize the absolute beauty of this game and the experience it provides, even if you make mistakes this game knows how to make your mistake cinematically beautiful and worthy of remembrance.

This is a game that deserve to be on a "games you must play before you die" list and it deserves many awards.
