Reading spells is more fun than poetry especially when the book starts biting back.
For what I paid for it, this was an OK game. Just OK. The best part of the game was the story, which was handled pretty well,
except for the last minutes of the game. The worst part of the game was the dialogue, which was obviously written by authors for which English was not their primary language. Lots and lots of misspelled words, missing words, and a total lack of grammar and syntax. Just sloppy and very, very bad. The battle graphics are poor, but once you obtain the Paralyze spell, there is not a single Boss you can't dispatch quickly, even the Final Boss at the end. Also, forget about finishing all the side quests. There is no way I could come up with to find all the junk needed to accomplish it all. You won't need to anyway. It's too bad the developers did not do the sequel set up at the end of the game, because it would have been nice to see if their skills got any better. I guess we will not find out. If you can obtain the game for $1.50 like I did, there are worse ways to waste your time, otherwise, I cannot recommend this game.

I hate being harsh on a dev that isn't an english speaker and this is clearly one of their first efforts, but MAN is this a boring slog. The english can be stilted and poorly delivered and the characterizations are very simplistic, there is absolutely nothing in this story that you haven't seen in other RPG maker games. I wanted to give it benefit of the doubt having played a lot of these, but after getting 1/4th of the game with a guide the thought of getting the achievements and finishing the sidequests just isn't interesting or grabbing me.
Big problem is the lack of a quest log and a lack of a map of any kind, many reviewers praise this as "old school design" when in reality this is just laziness/lack of understanding that gamers don't want to waste 8 of their precious hours DRAWING THEIR OWN MAPS and WRITING DOWN THE DIALOGUE NEEDED FOR QUESTS, this isn't fun and to pretend it's a positive is disingenuous at best. If anything this was a missed opportunity for the dev to make an extremely needed strategy guide.
You'll be fighting wave after wave of the same boring enemies, backtracking galore with slow walking speed, the game really should have had an option to turn up battle speed. Art style is muddied and not visually appealing, character's are one dimensional, attempts at humor don't really land. At least the sound/music design is at least decent.
Dev would have been better off putting an achievement about an hour into the game because after 4 hours I just cannot continue, an admirable first effort but about as bland as eating a plain bowl of oatmeal.

Really good RPG. The best part is the story eventhough some parts where not well written and I found mistakes, but really enjoyed.
This game feels like a port of an older title, but it's still a very well-made experience. You play as a witch on a mission to rescue your friend, who’s been captured by a group that wants to rid the world of all magic users. As the story unfolds, you find yourself in situations where you have to ally with members of that faction and others to save people and do good. However, you may ultimately find that overcoming the deep-seated prejudices against you is more challenging than you expected. It’s a compelling narrative, and the gameplay is solid. Definitely worth the purchase if you're into story-driven adventures with moral complexity.

我的这篇评测大概是这个小游戏的第一篇中文评测了。。。。。。
很久之前在steam的一个活动里免费领的，因为游戏对话没有中文版本，评论区也没有中文玩家，在网上也搜不到什么游戏的相关信息，所以一直没玩，今天突然想看看这个游戏是什么背景故事，就下载下来了。
目前玩了2.1小时，游戏名《Grimoire Chronicles》就是《魔法书编年史》，第一章介绍部分大概就是说曾经在人类和巫师之间发生过战争，巫师大多被消灭，所以尽管已经过去了一千年（？），巫师还是要隐藏身份躲避追捕。这天有追捕者来到村子里，所以玩家要操控巫师角色躲进森林，第二天坐火车打算离开这片区域，在火车上和追捕她的人一起抵抗了想要劫持火车的“反叛者”，并在战斗结束后重新逃跑回到森林。战斗基本就是用鼠标点点点，玩家同时操控三个角色（两个追捕者+一个巫师），在火车车厢里碰上反叛者然后战斗，主要就是用普通攻击打人，用鼠标点一下“attack”，再点一下目标就行了。。。因为一开始的MP很少，所以技能也不能持续用，不过也有草药可以补充HP和MP。我玩的游戏不多，反正就是很简单很简单的那种，傻瓜式回合制战斗。本来这里就已经让我有一点点崩溃了，因为玩家要做什么基本都在角色的对话里，但我光是理解句意就已经要耗费不少脑容量了（非英语母语者的痛苦），基本就是读完一个对话就忘了，所以我总是想不起来到底要往左还是往右。好不容易打完了，巫师逃回森林，又和两个新人组队，看剧情好像是要向北出发，但我真的一直一直一直在森林里迷路，我迷路到要崩溃了。作者在指南区发的攻略，一开始我还是浅看两眼攻略然后自己独立地走，后来实在走不出去就把森林的这部分攻略翻译成中文再对照着攻略走，结果还是走不出去（可能因为我现实里也是路痴，我真的记不住路）。总之我的两个小时游戏过程就是这样，后二十分钟纯迷路，还有森林里的怪跟在屁股后面，所以我还要一直清怪。最让我崩溃的是清完这片区域的小怪以后，我进到下一个区域，又有小怪要清，躲又躲不掉只能硬着头皮上。好不容易清完了，发现这个区域不是我要走的路，我又得回到刚刚那个区域，等我重新进入刚刚的区域，里面的小怪又刷新了，我又得再清一遍。。。。。。。我被迷路折磨得没有力气再玩下去了，就先这样吧，毕竟是免费的小游戏，而且看起来也是作者独立制作的，也不用太苛求。总体来说还是不错的，是一个可以在闲暇时候玩一会的游戏。

I don't play a lot of games, but it's a very, very simple, simpleton turn-based battle.
This is already a little bit of a meltdown for me, because what the player has to do is basically in the character's dialogue, but it takes a lot of brain power just to understand the meaning of the sentence (the pain of non-native English speakers), basically reading a dialogue and forgetting, so I can't remember whether to go left or right.
Finally finished, the wizard fled back to the forest, and two new people team up, to see the plot seems to be going north, but I really have been lost in the forest, I lost to collapse. The author sent the guideline in the guide area, at first I still looked at the guideline and then walked independently, and then I really could not go out and translated this part of the forest guideline into Chinese and then went against the guideline, and the result was still unable to go out (maybe because I was also a road fool in reality, I really couldn't remember the road).
Anyway, that's my two-hour game, the last 20 minutes of pure lost, with the forest monster on my tail, so I have to keep clearing the monster. What makes me collapse is that after clearing the small monsters in this area, I enter the next area, and there are small monsters to clear, hiding and hiding can only be hard on the scalp. Finally finished clearing, found that this area is not the way I want to go, I have to go back to the area, and when I re-enter the area, the small monsters inside are refreshed, I have to clear it again...

My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

Grimoire Chronicles é um jogo indie feito no RPG Maker XP.
A narrativa gira em torno de três grupos distintos: as bruxas, os templários que as perseguem (chamados de Predadores) e os rebeldes (bandidos da montanha). O jogo explora bem o moralismo, já que nem todos os membros de cada grupo são necessariamente bons ou maus. A história e os personagens são bacanas e ajudam a manter o interesse no jogo, mas infelizmente, o "terceiro ato" foi visivelmente feito às pressas e deixou muitas pontas soltas.
Os gráficos são bonitos e usam alguns tilesets raros, porem alguns cenários possuem bugs. Outro problema ocorre numa cutscene onde bandidos perseguem um trem em movimento (só que usaram um cenário parado ao invés de um panorama (nota: por padrão o RMXP não suporta panoramas que se movem, mas isso pode ser resolvido com scripts). Os inimigos do jogo possuem todos gráficos originais, evitando o uso do RTP.
A trilha sonora também é boa e também evita o uso dos sons padrões do RMXP.
O maior ponto negativo é a jogabilidade:
* Inimigos são visíveis no mapa e representados por bolas de fumaça, mas os cenários são tão estreitos que na maioria das vezes é difícil evitar uma batalha. No começo, fugir das lutas fazia o inimigo desaparecer do mapa, mas isso não ocorre no restante do jogo por algum motivo.
* O jogo usa o sistema de batalha padrão do RMXP, mas os heróis não possuem gráficos representando eles, o que muitas vezes torna difícil dizer quem está atacando.
* A variedade de inimigos é bem baixa (geralmente 2 tipos diferentes por dungeon) e as batalhas carecem de estratégia, podendo ser vencidas fazendo todo mundo usar ataque normal. Batalhas contra chefes não são muito diferentes, já que magias de status (como a de adormecer) funciona em tudo.
* O jogo possui vários sidequests, mas carece de um "quest log" pra organizar tudo.
Sendo franco, Grimoire Chronicles não é um jogo muito bom, mas a história, os gráficos e a trilha sonora são decentes e eu o considero um dos "melhores" (ou menos piores) lançamentos da Warfare Studios (junto com Storm of Spears). Se estiver numa boa promoção, eu posso recomendar.
You either sometime enjoy warfare studios games at the end of the day or don't. It's laid back. I will play through it slowly when i tire of other things - which i do.
PROS: some new graphics all new story with a german-country theme, but music and many things have not changed (much), and this is not un-common from the (series)
CONS: the NPC/enemy was re-used so many times i checked youtube to see if there were more. yes there are many NPC but you get say 2-3 per area only. many areas/chapters though.
These games are "old school" (per say) and not much to it, the graphics are re-used. So you expect not to pay much for it.

I can't exactly recommend this game, but I don't bear any negative feelings towards it. This comes across as someone's first attempt, when they had ideas but lacked the skills and experience to follow through. There's a certain charm that comes from that, which did get me somewhat invested. But unless you're me or you know the developers, that probably won't be enough.
The gameplay is pretty standard fair. If you've played pretty much any RPGmaker RPG, you'll be familiar with this. Enemies are all visible on the game map, a good idea which in principle means you can avoid them, but the narrow corridors make this often impossible. The combat screen is very lacking in animation, and most enemies are extremely easy, which makes combat rather boring. The low difficulty undermines the way your party keeps changing for story reasons. New party members [i]should[/i] keep things fresh by forcing you to change your tactics and try out new things, but when most encounters can be most quickly won by just spamming the attack button, this potential is lost. Aside from combat, there are some scavenger hunt side quests. As noted by other reviewers, there's no quest logs and you can't always replay the quest giver information, so be prepared to take notes.
While the mechanics are pretty standard, the story is a more interesting tale. I definitely have the impression that this is where the developer put most effort. The world is low fantasy, familiar but not generic. There's some effort in the world building and especially in the characters. Sadly, what potential there might have been is undercut by bad writing in a [i]technical[/i] sense. Little to no punctuation, awkward and unnatural dialogue; it all feels like someone's first efforts.
I played [b]Grimoire Chronicles[/b] to completion; I cared enough to see the ending, and had some fun along the way. And, it is far, [i]far[/i] from the worst RPGmaker game I have ever played. Still, there are so many alternatives out there that I can't honestly recommend.

Всем доброго утра, леди и джентельмены. С вами Берникс и это обзор на игру, которая называется: "Хроники Гримуара". Я люблю игры, сделанные на движке RPG-Maker . И эт не первая игра в таком жанре, которую я проходил . Поэтому расскажу об этой игре, довольно много чего интересного.
Итак-с, начну с того что игра очень похожа на Breath of Fire(знаменитая серия игр на Game Boy и не только) и на Фейнел фентези, ну крч по классике. В игре есть довольно интересная завязка, рассказывающая о некой ведьмочке, которая словила на свою головушку приключения и с определённого момента, начался её великий путь чародейки.
Музыка в игре- моё почтение, а боёвка как говорил ранее, вдохновлена 2 играми, то есть вы там можете атаковать, защищаться, использовать всякие умения, заклинания, а можете вообще свалить с поле боя.
Ещё вы можете кастомизировать ваших героев, покупая вещи в ларьках, ну и одевая их . Помимо всего прочего, вы можете во время приключений, находить сундуки с интересными вещами, по типу расходников(всякие там зелья, кольца, части брони, если вы хотите поберечь денежки и тому подобное). Иногда вы можете найти редкие вещи. Они нужны для того, чтобы убирать некие препятствия(которые помечены жёлтым кружочком, ну или там какое то действие надо сделать ) .
Багов в игре не наблюдалось, но почему то у меня она была в окне...Видно для игр такого жанра -это норма.
Итог. Я рад был пройти в эту игру, Ближе к концу, я заметил был такой намёк небольшой на продолжение , но что то я не видел 2 части в этой игре, а щёлкнув по надписи разработчиков, увидел что у них там ВСЕ игры сделаны на этом движке, а 2 части этой игры, к сожалению нет. Но я буду верить и надеяться, что это ещё не конец разборок и всё будет хорошо. Моя оценка 10 врагов вечно в параличе, из 10. И спасибо кстати моему другу KenzZz, за подарочек. Очень хорошая игра.

I really liked this rpg maker game.Nice engaging story that i didn't want to end and when it did i wanted more.Sure it had it's flaws like no log book ,repetitive game play but had it's share of positives too like nice assortment of weapons,story etc, decent achievements. Hopefully there will be more to this story.

RPG Maker strikes again!
Grimoire Chronicles is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel JRPG ripoffs spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club weeaboo fan fiction. Basically, these guys didn't make a game, they filled out a couple of templates in a construction kit.
This has a very mediocre plot where you control a young witch girl at a magic school who has to go save her friend, blah blah. What's notable is both how badly written this is, and how badly it was translated into English. Google Translate would do a better job.
Like all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options. Resolution is locked and the game features 2D retro pixel art asset flips. All of this makes this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. The point can be made that the intention of RPG Maker is to make demos and small games to pass around friends, and shouldn't be used for "professional" game development, and the poor quality of this game supports that.
Gamers who want a good retro JRPG experience would be better off playing the originals, like Final Fantasy, Star Ocean or Chrono Trigger. Leave this terrible fan fiction in the shovelware bundles where it belongs.

Jugue 10 minutos por la siguiente razon: no entiendo una mierda, no tengo ganas de leer y la resolucion es un poco molesta.
Por otro lado es un pokemon pero con otra historia que no se cual es porque apenas lo jugue, de igual manera tiene cromos y esta barato.

Fun little rpg-maker, if your just looking for a small game to kill some hours this might be it.
when you get a quest do it asap or write it down there is know journal. just trying to find the sequel, very much enjoyed the game rich in story. I will play it again.

虽然不是踩地雷式的触发战斗，但仍然非常俗套的你一拳我一刀的回合制对战
节奏缓慢，系统非常不人性化：连攻击伤害到底是己方哪个人砍出来的都分不出
也没有加速走路这种提升节奏的设置，更不要提任务提示这些（当然这游戏也非常无脑，不停往前走或者一个个NPC换着对话）
总之就是一款毫无亮点的游戏，在同类游戏中完全没有分辨度

It was a fun game until 20 minutes in because there was no indication on where the place was I found a thing that would be where the place would be but the place wasn't there sorry for being so vague I didn't want to include spoilers but what little of the combat I played was fun and the music was nice to listen to but overall I didn't like the game UPDATE about an hour in and this is after finding the spot I quite like the game i've got to play with the combat more I have got more of the story and have completely changed my mind
Una buona storia è ciò che mi spinge a giocare e in origine Grimoire Chronicles sembrava promettente. Solo che non potevo sopportarlo per più di un'ora. Il problema sta nel dialogo. Tradotto male e non usare le parole per combinare le frasi, i personaggi sembrano ottusi e poco attraenti.
C'era anche qualcosa che non aveva senso per me. La festa si riprenderebbe automaticamente prima di entrare in un combattimento importante, ma se trascorressero una notte a riposare (a causa della trama) la mattina seguente avrebbero ancora gli stessi PS e PS di ieri.
Alcuni problemi con la mappatura che ho notato, nella prima città ho attraversato una sorta di muro.
Bene, quello che mi è piaciuto è stato come il gioco avrebbe cambiato i protagonisti. Gioca nei panni della strega e nella parte successiva come predatore.

Great old time RPG! Just remember to take lots of notes as there is no journal. For you newbies out there, press the X button on your keyboard to get into and out of your menu or to cancel/back up on an option, either use the spacebar or enter key to either jump/activate/talk, and arrow keys to move around. Just make sure that your mouse pointer isn't in the middle of your screen, that way you can select stuff/enemies. Cute story lines. I have laughed out loud on some of the banter between the characters. Don't hesitate to buy stuff or explore areas, as you will rotate between characters, but you will carry your items that are not equipped no matter who is in the current party. If you really want to go old school, buy some graph paper and make your own maps, as there is no menu map. This one makes you think and works the grey matter between your ears. Have fun! Oh, and if you are looking for a walkthrough if you get stuck, BFG has a few.

Good story but the beginning train part really turn me off... its kinda retarded really doing the same thing over and over again.
Que puis-je vous dire sur Grimoire Chronicles... pour ce que j'ai payé avec 87% de rabais, c'était un jeu correct. La meilleure partie du jeu était l’histoire, qui s’est plutôt bien déroulée, sauf pour les dernières minutes du jeu. La pire partie du jeu était le dialogue, qui était évidemment écrit par des auteurs pour lesquels l'anglais n'était pas leur langue principale. Beaucoup de mots mal orthographiés, de mots manquants et un manque total de grammaire et de syntaxe (surement traduit par google). Juste bâclé et très, très mauvais dialogue (sexiste, raciste et vulgaire).
Les graphismes de bataille sont médiocres, mais une fois que vous obtenez le sort Paralyze, il n'y a pas un seul Boss que vous ne pouvez pas envoyer rapidement, même le Boss final à la fin. En outre, oubliez de terminer toutes les quêtes secondaires. Vous n'en aurez pas besoin de toute façon.
Vous recevrez 3 cartes de collection sur 5 et 6 succès facilement gagnés. Si vous pouvez obtenir le jeu pour 0,62 $, comme je l'ai fait, il y a des façons pires de perdre votre temps, sinon, je ne puis pas recommander ce jeu.

Было бы интересно погамать, несмотря на то, что это просто самая обыкновенная поделка на rpg maker.
Об этой игре я ничего не могу вам рассказать, потому что не запускал (как бы логично). Но гуглил на ютубе и нашёл летсплеи одной бодипозитивщицы по этой игре. У неё там очень интересные фотки в фейсбуке(от некоторых прям крипово). А ведь как интересно получается даже такие вещи как игры, отражают наше духовное и физическое состояние.
Какой-нить красавице совсем не сдалось играть в инди-игрульки, разве что на стриме и по огрооомной просьбе.
А вот у Bubbly свой ретро-оазис только потому что ей особо мужчины не интересуются. Нет, я вовсе не говорю, что такие игры интересны только жирухам, или каким-то убогим, но явно они созданы для определённых гуков.
Скорее и в моей жизни что-то не так, раз я не чуждаюсь увлекаться непопулярными вещами.
Но давайте попробуем как-то поправить эти стереотипы. Призываю благородных девиц и парней пройти эту игору, а потом чиркануть обзор с хэш-тегом #ВоинСейлорМун, лол. Нет, это уж слишком.

简单，只要给它一个烂系统，一个破美工，和一堆没意义的战斗就行了。
这游戏有股浓浓的20年前勇者斗恶龙的感觉，但现在已经不是那个时代了
BTW本作也是封面欺诈组的一员，除封面外没人有立绘，3块也就挂卡了。
我为本作的剧本和配乐感到可惜。
配乐是真的不错。
不过尽管有这样那样的缺陷，还是打通了，游戏里一共走了7万9千步

A good story is what draws me to play games and originally, Grimoire Chronicles sounded promising. Except I couldn't stand it for more than an hour. The problem lies in the dialogue. Badly translated and not using words to combine sentences just makes the characters look dull and not appealing.
There was also something that didn't make sense to me. The party would automatically recover before entering an important fight but if they spend a night resting (because of the plot) the following morning they would still have the same hp and sp from yesterday.
Some problems with the mapping that I noticed, in the first town I crossed over some sort of wall.
Well, what I did like was how the game would switch protagonists. Play as the witch and in the next part as the predator.
