Ein ruhiges, Aufmerksamkeit forderndes Spiel, das seine Zeit beansprucht. Wer gerne mit Geduld spielt, wird hier durchaus fündig. Für Spieler mit einem Faible für Action ist das hier eher nichts. Insgesamt ein sehr schönes, aber etwas langatmiges Spiel mit wundervoller Grafik.

Otro 4x más donde la sensación general es que estoy trabajando en una hoja de excel, tratando de engordar números que no acabo de entender qué me aportan, como por ejemplo la fabricación. Cuanta mayor es la fabricación, más rápido se construyen los edificios, pero realmente nunca sé cuánta fabricación es necesaria. Cuanta más mejor, así que me limito a construir edificios que aportan fabricación en los hexágonos que mejor modificador tienen, y esto con todo. Pongo economía donde me da más riqueza, más vivienda donde me da más población... y el único problema real es si mis números son lo bastante gordos.
No hay sensación de estar creando una civilización, ni de estar tratando con otras razas, ni de estar tratando con ciudadanos. No hay sensación de estar tratando problemas de las personas que viven en mi mundo, no sé nada de ellas, excepto que algunos números como colectivismo o pacifismo crecen sin parar. En general creo que Stellaris es mejor que este juego, sin ser tampoco la gran cosa, ya que Stellaris también me deja frío en muchos aspectos, impidiéndome llegar a esa sensación de que estoy creando una civilización galáctica 4.
Ejemplo de partida: creo una civilización pacifista y científica. Sobre el turno 200 y de la nada, la civilización Altoriana (igualitarismo, empatía, espiritual y tranquila) me declara la guerra. No he creado naves militares, ¿con qué me defiendo?. Pues con números, supongo. Porque ni siquiera puedo hablar con ellos. ¿Por qué el hecho de estar en guerra implica que no haya canales diplomáticos?.

great strategy game.
simple yet deep and offer alot of customisation.
Maybe they should make campaign more engaging, like a multipe story branch story.
And maybe in the long run, in galatic civ6, have controled tactical battle.

The game mechanics are put together well but even on Beginner Level, the amount of options was overwhelming and made me lose interest. It felt like there was TOO much that I had to accomplish in order to progress and the storyline did not grab my attention. For a turn-base D&D style game, it was interesting but it's not one that I would continue to play.

I only play multiplayer, and this game is hamstringed for multiplayer. 3 is a better game. If single player is your jam, skip this review. The multiplayer maps are limited to very small maps (small, medium, binary sectors) in a game whose selling point to me was that there would be huge map with a bunch of sectors to explore and exploit. I figured this would give me a couple battle phases where in 3 I only really got one. Well if you want less than half the map with less opponents maybe that's fine. This patch they fixed some desync issues which is great, maybe in the future they will let you play the whole game in multiplayer instead of what feels like the trial version.

Memorable alien races, interlocking mechanics, fun diplomatic interactions and events, an excellent custom ship builder that adds a layer of personalization, and a great unit-based exploration/research system that adds a layer of 'sci-fi adventure' to the game. My first time with a Galactic Civilizations game, and it's a good 4X game and a good time!

Only a few hours in, but so far I’m having a good time with the game. It feels like it has a lot of depth once you really get into it, and I like the customization and overall scale. It has that classic strategy pull where I find myself saying “one more turn” and suddenly a lot more time has passed.

That said, it also feels a little overwhelming at first, and some of the UI and pacing haven’t fully clicked for me yet. There seems to be a lot to learn, which is great if you like deeper strategy games, but it does make the early experience feel a little clunky. Still, first impression is positive, and I can already tell there’s a lot here to dig into.

Not good at this. Better than GCIII, and I have had a ball just playing, without worrying about results. This has Civ's age old issue of late-game boredom. I think better up-grades and terraforming new hexes would help. I enjoy this game because I can just play... and not get overwhelmed...
I do need to understand the tech tree better. Seems it could be presented better, but... it's complex.

So glad a friend recommended this game to me. Just watching it load up to play showed me the details he was talking about. The characters and all their attributes make it easy to decide which one to choose. This seems to be a much more involved game than others I have recently played and left shortly after. The idea of creating civilizations is PURE GENIUS! I will definitely be playing this game this weekend!

Played this for the first time and seems to be a game I will continue to enjoy playing. My kind of game, loved the art and the feel of the universe. Went down a rabbitt hole of making my own race to do battle. The battles feel good and meaningful, intersting skill trees, for sure recommend buying this.

Game seems very fun so far. Lot of stuff to sink your teeth into here. Many civs to play as. The workshop support looks great too. Can't wait to dive more into that. Not sure I would play the multiplayer but I like that it is there. Game has serious one more turn action.

Galactic Civilizations 2 was my start. GalCiv III was a staple and played forever. So what could be better?

Galactic Civilizations IV!!! More, better, prettier and almost the same. Everything a sequel should be. No changing of mechanics you knew. No altogether different way of doing things. We all hate that in a sequel (looking at you Final Fantasy 1-26).

Recommended buy if you liked Galactic Civilizations III. :D

IMHO, GC II is better. Optimized interface, more simple way to create own design starship, etc.
So many years between GCII and GC IV, but so tiny gameplay progress. It's even few steps back ;( Some management is not comfy at all.
They should have options for old gameplay like GSII in gameplay menu of GS IV.

The combat is the best it has ever been in a GalCiv game.
The races are varied and I like a lot of them, the look and backstory are great, a lot of variation.

The game is just boring. Especially the empire building part. Everything takes 50+ turns to create so you build a lot of industrial tiles and now there is no room for anything else and even if there was room, there is nothing interesting to build. Starbases barely do anything, there just isn't much you can do to grow your empire.

Maybe in 2 years and $200+ worth of DLC the game will be better but Stellaris clears this game by a large margin and Stellaris was made 3000 years ago.

A great game, built on the bones of Gal Civ 3, which owes me about 8500 hours of my life. Skip the tutorial and jump into a new game - then figure out the ins and outs. It looks good so far, the graphics are much better then Gal Civ 3, and there's only the occasional freeze. Five thumbs, I would say (out of 5). Be warned. It's very addictive.

For the massive price of the base game and it's DLCs, together with YouTube reviews I have seen, the actual game was astonishingly underwhelming. I expected more player freedom going into the ship builder. And above it all, to be actually able to SAVE the ship designs. I looked for the so-called "fighter modems" or modules for 2 hours, almost tearing up that after going through the difficult hazzle of trying to make sense of the advanced ship designer from the main menu - where I could not even paint my designs freely but were forced to choose pre-existing textures that almost never were a fit - that even after still being able to manage to make 2 designs that I had to leave the ship designer without the ability to save my design each time.

The ingame events are repetitive even at the beginning of your first playthrough. The space ships look more like weird space monsters than inventions of actual civilizations. Nothing is really going on in the game apart from advancing time. And I am never really introduced to the game's economy. I see numbers rise and fall without explanation what is even going on or how I can interact with the economy.

Overall, I can not justify my purchase.
I was ready for a game that would let me design civilizations and influence their technologies like ships in the ship designer. I was ready for it being complex and intuitive. But I only found a mess of a game that is expensive, shallow in content, uncomfortable to play as it does not fit the vibes I would expect a game like this to have, and that is overall just messy, constrictive and wonky.

It's probably my fault for making the hugest galaxy when I don't have the ram for it. I prefer the previous versions.
If you're unsure of which GalCiv to get, get them all, because each one has slightly different gameplay, and that's what I like about this franchise. Don't like 4? Get 3. Don't like the hex tiles? Play 2. Even 2 changes a lot of the interface and some of the tech tree between the regular edition, the DLC, and the Ultimate Edition, and there was one in between, it may have just been a patch I don't know it was 20 years ago okay?

4х Стратегия , да - куча механик, да - много нюансов, есть просадки в начале игры(когда толком нефиг делать) и в конце(когда один ход занимает кучу времени из которых 90% одни и те же действия) , но в целом интересно , глобально, вариативно, нужно посидеть , разобраться в тонкостях и игра заиграет. С другой стороны , а что вы хотите от 4х ? с допами - контента очень и очень много. Любите сложные игры где одна сессия занимает 30+ часов - вам сюда.
