I think if you liked the first game, you should definitely play this one. But if this one doesn't grab you, then it's probably best to steer clear of the third game.

In terms of gameplay, it's still the same Fuga. It's got the usual mechanics, but with some new features added. There are airships for getting around and going back to paths you skipped. The expeditions are improved. The enemies have an interesting design, as both ghosts and biomechanical abominations.

The plot is the part that will determine whether you want to see the third instalment or not. I won't spoil anything here, but if you were drawn to the fairy-tale vibe of the first game, the second one has much less of that, offering instead epicness and deeper drama.

I liked this game, so I'll definitely get to the third part. As for criticism, I can only mention that the Path of Resolve clearly loses out in terms of development compared to the Path of Empathy. I didn't get enough of ‘sometimes life forces cruel choices’ from both a gameplay and character interaction perspective.

If you liked the first game, you will almost definitely like this too. The battle system is really similar but some minor changes manage to keep things interesting. Make sure you take a safe route at least once, the safe route song is fantastic but you'll never hear it if you only take the hard routes. I'd recommend taking a break either before or after this one if you play all 3 games, since the battle system might start to feel repetitive if you play all 3 back to back. This was really good, but if you only plan on getting one of the trilogy, you probably want to get the third one.

Compared to the first game, both gameplay and writing have improved. It feels much more tactical and punishing if the player does not think ahead, which is a good thing.

Story wise, while it keeps a strong angst driven tone, it does not feel as dark as the first game. This second entry feels more like an OVA that expands the lore and characters, or even the setup for the third game.

I am not really complaining, but I do wish they had kept more of the darker subtext.

Another wonderful game! I think the characters and interactions were better in this than the first; however, I think the plot in the original was better. Fights felt harder and the overall animations and design were much improved. I do wish the battles and the tank differentiated themselves a bit more between games, I know they introduce a few new mechanics and change up some existing ones but overall it's a bit too similar. That being said, if you enjoyed the gameplay of the first game you'll love this one just as much.

For months after finally getting around to the original Fuga (and enjoying it quite a bit) I waited for this and Fuga 3 to go on sale again- and it was worth that wait (and frankly, would have been worth the original release's as well, but I'm glad I got the fast tracked version).

When I played the first I mostly enjoyed it, and only had a few gripes with certain mechanics and some of the writing- being that I could gush for hours about the most minute of things in this title, which has immediately skyrocketed to becoming one of my all time favourite RPGs after just a first run, it's better that I just go over the tune ups, as everything great I mentioned about the first still applies.

Immediately, we get a deeper story, one more intimately involved with the setting. We get more fleshed out character dynamics, more meaningful link events, more time spent with characters both on the Taranis and elsewhere, and everything is so much the better for this. Where the first game sometimes failed to draw me into the fray, I was hooked from the beginning here and found it genuinely hard to stop playing- looking back, surprising even myself with finishing this in only 4 days.

While the story itself is still not anything revolutionary, the game picks its battles much better, and keeps the player strung along by focusing more on the internal struggles of the children, their reactions to the conflict presented, and how they mesh with each other as a unit- rather than relying entirely on the larger strokes of the plot, which may have left it feeling rather expected or flat in some instances.

You're so engrossed in the characters themselves that you hardly have time to notice that yeah, maybe you've seen some of these themes and archetypal characters before, maybe there's some similarity to the first game regarding some of the story beats. You barely have time to think about what might be the only conceivable "flaw" I could level on this one. The game had its hooks into me so effectively that by the end, I found it was one of the few times in my life that an RPG actually managed to make me cry.

Perhaps the greatest change when it comes to comparing Fuga 1 and 2 and how they manage the horror of war and loss, and present this threat to the player, is that the Soul Cannon mechanic is now completely out of your hands- instead of being a "I admit that I lost the game" button, its now a crisis mode: take too much damage, let things become too dire, and your tank will select a random child and load them into the cannon for you, giving you a small window of turns before they're killed.

Given the increased focus on the children and better development in this installment, it becomes an extremely effective threat- rather than feel like resetting the few times it happened to me, I was instead steeled to do everything I could to finish the fight in time. Not many games can claim to have made me so desperate to avoid a character death. While it is true that no game can escape the problem of "just reset if you screw up", this struck a much better balance than the first game, as now you couldn't just decide to avoid ever considering the option.

Other than this "selling point" mechanic, the rest of the combat has also been more finely tuned from the original. Enemy formations are now much more intelligently designed, often times leaving you without "golden options" to effortlessly deal with them under the proper strategy. Character skills and roles are now refined and more strongly defined, making each child feel like they have a proper use instead of just being "S Tier Cannoneer, A Tier Cannoneer", etc. This combined with a tighter balance overall- fewer resources to be had, stronger opponents, and what felt like a more fragile Taranis- made for truly engaging and challenging combat at every turn, without ever feeling like things had gone overboard or gotten frustrating.

Overall it is shockingly good- not just the best game I've played this year, but one of the best RPGs I've ever played, period. The love that the people at Cyberconnect2 have for the characters and the world they've created practically oozes out of it at every turn, as does their beautiful art, fantastic music, and skill at creating engaging and strategic gameplay. I said last time that I felt proud about CC2 wanting to be ambassadors for furries in the gaming space- now that feeling is multiplied, not only am I proud, I'm filled with hope that we don't have to be held back by biases or anything else- we can clearly stand toe to toe with the best of them- and do better.

I bought and played through this straight after finishing FUGA 1, I liked the game so much. The second game is very similar, but in my opinion a little more difficult, the story a little darker, some of the enemies actually creepy. The soul cannon countdown at low HP had me scrabbling to finish the fight a few times!

I like Vanilla, she's a kick-ass character with a pretty design.

(For people unfamiliar with FUGA, you play as small cat and dog anthro children, each operating one barrel of an enormous tank you found. Its very cute but also sometimes traumatising things happen to them and you have to bail them out.)

스피드모드로 트루 엔딩을 보는데 8.5시간 정도 걸렸습니다.

전투 시스템이 1편과 비교해서 마나가름이라는 비상용 스킬이 하나 추가된 것 말고는 바뀐게 없긴 하지만 기본적인 턴제 전투가 잘 짜여져 있는 느낌이기 때문에 이러한 장르를 좋아하시는 분 에게는 맞을 것 같습니다.

1편 도전과제 모두 달성하는데 20시간 넘게 걸렸는데 2편도 만약 도전과제를 다 달성하려면 그정도 걸릴 것으로 예상됩니다.
그리고 스피드모드에서는 일부 도전과제들을 달성하지 못하기 때문에 처음에는 일반으로 하고 2회차부터 스피드모드로 플레이하는 것을 추천합니다.

또 특징이라면 캐릭터들이 퍼리라는 점 이겠네요. 동물 캐릭터 외형에 거부감이 있으신 분은 힘들 것 같습니다.

애들 나이도 적은데 탱크타고 명중률도 높은거 진짜 리스펙 합니다.

Melhora tudo do primeiro jogo que já é um game bem marcante.

Posso destacar a maioria das melhoras:

-A arte do jogo evoluiu, da capa até o design dos personagens e painéis, mesmo que reciclem algumas coisas, funciona muito bem!

-A narrativa está ainda melhor, temos um sentimento de urgência ligeiramente maior, o jogo traz as crianças mais desenvolvidas do game anterior, continuando até algumas conversas.

-O protagonista é o personagem que mais mudou e teve o maior desenvolvimento na história, tendo os sentimentos mais explorados e amadurecimento até o fim da história (Fora que os devs começaram aqui a fazer ele sofrer com frequência)

-A trilha sonora é mais de opinião, o primeiro jogo é perfeito, aqui temos uma OST bem mais emocional apesar de muitas trilhas épicas também, adoro.

-A gameplay ficou ainda mais satisfatória, temos algumas novidades sutis que aprimoram a experiência, ainda mais que a dificuldade de Fuga 2 é mais elevada que a do primeiro, mas também tem outra adição que deixam as batalhas mais perigosas e forçam o jogador a pensar melhor as estratégias.

-Alguns outros detalhes simples como ícones de itens que você tem da fazenda ajudam pra caramba na sua produção.

-Tivemos bons personagens novos entrando na história.

E é mais ou menos isso!

O primeiro jogo tem sim momentos que você fica chocado e dá mais vontade de continuar, mas Fuga 2 tem bem mais, ele é mais tenso e profundo.

É um jogo muito divertido que supera o anterior, foi por causa dele que me apaixonei de vez pela franquia e me fez revisitar algumas vezes.

This might actually be a little harder than the last game. Still not hard enough where losing a kid is likely. Nor will you feel the need to use the Managarm either. Not too many big changes from the first game. The Judgement system is mildly impactful and the skills that come with it can be somewhat helpful.

The story starts off intriguing, takes a turn, then becomes somewhat predictable, though it's still a fun journey. Seeing how the story events impact Malt as a kid and as a leader is a big chunk of the game. It does cause some annoyances if you actually want to use Malt in battle, but having story events cause a major disruption in how you plan to play the game....kinda makes sense. So much so that i cant really fault the game for it.

The Judgement system sounds cool, impactful and ominous, but in reality it's a set of skills that can trigger in battle, some different dialogue in empathy/resolution events, and different dialogue in the epilogue.

I know im missing a chunk of the game, lots of events and conversations, when not going for the true ending, but i refuse to let these kids die cuz i'd probably cry.

Lastly, Malt is still the oldest and will not let you forget it!

The writers played Metal Gear Solid V, then learned the wrong lessons when it came to writing a story about revenge and loss.
And MGSV is a game with its third act missing.
I consider that a damning indictment, when the series' tagline is "War / Vengeance / Kemono[mimi]".
(Seriously, it's like they missed the whole point of the Medical Bay side-story.)

There isn't even a Skull Face equivalent for me to laugh at.

The gameplay's fine, but seriously, who's here for the gameplay? It's Fuga 1 with a bit more polish. (Needed polish, but still.) If you liked Fuga 1's gameplay, more power to you, knock yourself out with this.

But if you liked Fuga 1 for its story, pass this one up. Or get it on a sale and stick it on Fast Mode.

Изначально хотел купить по скидке, но решил потратиться чтобы не ждать и не пожалел. Игра очень годная как в плане боёв, так и сюжета. При первом прохождении потерял ребёнка и не мог этого так оставить, в итоге перепрошёл всё заново и не жалею, персонажи очень цепляют и желание получить идеальную концовку было очень велико. Я тот человек который 4 года играл в 2-3 игры и не хотел пробовать что-то новое, но узнав о фуге я очень рад что прошёл её, своих денег она стоит на все 100%. Спасибо тем замечательным людям кто делал этот шедевр

After picking up the series on a whim and finishing Fuga 1. I let the game settle for a few days before loading up this sequel, now armed with a better understanding of what CyberConnect2 had up their sleeves for me.

Somewhat fresh from my experience with the first game, I was quite happy to see how the battle system was similar but had some fresh new moving parts for me to add into my existing knowledge. Seeing these characters, my children, once again did bring a smile to my face… Which was then quickly replaced with the sinking dread for what horrors they’d experience this time.

As I said in my review of the first game, the battles in Fuga were the main source of friction but this time things felt a little more smooth in the moment to moment. I’m unsure if it’s just the 30some hours of experience under my belt by the time I loaded up Fuga 2 or if this was an intentional design point. I say this because while battles felt a little easier, I was stunned into silence once the infamous Soul Cannon once again came online. I never used it in Fuga 1, I never chose to use it in Fuga 2… Alas for me, I never had the choice, the new Taranis will have its sacrifice if it tastes enough of its own blood and it became a mad dash to finish the fight before the battle was won, and the life was lost.

The new Judgement mechanic was interesting, but I felt like it pulled away from the rest of the cast as all equally important characters. Malt growing into a leader would have better served in his skill set evolving but these new extra buffs/debuffs are nice, although they triggered rarely in my first playthrough.

For the most part, the cast is as loveable as ever. New child Vanilla was a fun addition to the roster and added some of the refinement of culture that I think Kyle was supposed to but was lost to his complaining about how bad the countryside is compared. Shout out to returning character Wappa however, she absolutely shone bright this entry and the levity she brought with her was a reprieve for not just the children, but for me.

With that, it’s time to load up the last of this trilogy and see where the grand finale takes us.

Fuga 2 - 8/10 - Fuga 2 is just as good as the first game. In fact, it's somehow a little bit darker. The kids are finally trying to live a normal life after saving so many people, and of course, you know that's never going to just settle that way. Things are going to get messy, and they do when another tank shows up, and it's a villainous one.

The one running this tank is a new character named Jihl. This kid is about the same age as Malt, but he obviously has a lot of issues. Early on, you can tell he's filled with anger, and he's been feeding some type of lies into his mind. Unfortunately, one of the main characters leaves our party in a quite dramatic and sad way. That really sets the tone for the rest of the story. This feels a lot more like a dark, revenge-driven rescue mission.

One big new feature of the game is adding both a positive and negative outlook. So you can actually respond to characters in a very angry or determined way, or more of a passive, hopeful way. It's a subtle feature, and it doesn't change the story dramatically, except for the ending, but I did like that they added that in here.

Gameplay and Difficulty:

The core gameplay stays relatively the same. You have this big tank and use three characters at once, along with a side character to help them in battle. Just like before, each of the class types gives you an advantage. There's the Cannon, which is very strong; the Machine Gun, which is quick and usually used for aerial enemies; and then you have the in-between weapon that kind of just helps you balance everything out. Of course, each of these kids has special abilities that take up SP, and that's something you'll have to use sparingly, otherwise you'll run out of it, and then these enemies will ♥♥♥♥ you up.

Talking about the difficulty, I actually felt this game was a little more balanced. It still provides a good challenge in battles, but you can now buy items to help build up your tank and become stronger instead of hoping to get them when you're exploring dungeons or fishing. So in a way, it does make it a bit easier, but at the same time, they definitely make some bosses harder. But overall, I think it has a good mix of challenge, and I never felt overwhelmed, but I also never felt like it was too easy.

Dungeons and Overall Experience:

Again, the weakest part of the game is definitely exploring these temples and dungeons. They never really do anything special with them, and most of them are pretty boring. In fact, I'd say they're more annoying in this game than the first one because a lot of times you just have to kind of guess what to shoot and not waste a bullet, and a lot of times I guessed wrong on my first visit once you got to level two or three for the dungeons.

However, this gameplay remains fun as ♥♥♥♥ for me. It's just so fun to jump in and use your awesome abilities to take down multiple enemies, and I also just really like how the bosses provide a good challenge that mixes things up. The story is great once again. I felt emotions; I wanted to protect these kids, but I also wanted to stop the villains, but also save one of the villains because of what he was going through.

So, if you're into atmosphere and having this war backdrop on top of having excellent characters and a fun gameplay mechanic of building up a tank and using different types of weapons and skills, just like the first one, this is definitely worth playing. It keeps a great pace throughout, with 12 chapters giving you about 12 to 15 hours. Just like the first one, I can't recommend it enough. It's an 8 out of 10.

I really wish steam had more complex rating options than "recommended" and "not recommended" cause my thoughts on this game land in a middle area between the two. But let’s get into the review proper.

[h2] The Gameplay [/h2]
This game has a pretty decent jrpg turn based system. The additions made to the system by this game are [b] very [/b] welcomed, but if you’ve played a couple of turn based rpgs already, this game unfortunately does not have any particularly interesting mechanics to set it apart from the norm.
It also has some serious balancing issues due to the fact that some of the kids in this game are straight up better than others in combat, paired with the presence some notably broken combos ( mainly Britz + Socks ). This means that in most cases, even though I was going out of my way to do Elite battles I had to purposefully nerf myself by not allowing myself to use bonds I had already maxed and only using items when strictly necessary to make fights difficult. This was made even worse by the fact that, like the first game, this game mysteriously has exactly one (1) actually hard boss fight, which just makes me wonder why they didn't add more stuff that was actually hard in the game.
So by the time you crack the code on the system ( which did not take me long ) you just throw Vanilla and Wappa at every problem because they both hit like trucks and can ignore the enemy's shield. If you find the odd enemy that doesn't go down in 2 MAYBE 3 full turn rotations doing this, you just stun them beforehand using Britz or Socks and repeat the process. The New game+ only battles also prove to be a disappointment because instead of making them hard by using clever enemy combinations, they instead decided to give the enemies absolutely absurd health amounts, meaning that the only efficient way to deal with them is just to use Sheena's distortion and then pick them off, while stunning them to keep them busy. The easiness of the combat also makes the final fight really funny since [spoiler] after you deplete his health once he fully regenerates it and everybody treats it like it's such a big deal when realistically you only took 2 or 3 full turn rotations depleting it. [/spoiler]
This same lack of difficulty also makes the soul cannon more of an interesting story point more than anything you ever actually feel compelled to use. I like that they removed the player agency regarding when it starts to get fired or who it picks as ammunition, but the 20 turn timer is hilarious on a gameplay perspective. 20 turns is an absurdly high amount to be "useful" and realistically, unless you specifically messed up big time early in the fight, you will kill any threats long before you ever see it get even close to 0. Which also removes some of the cool story part to it. The soul cannon timer starts around when you hit below 50% hp, but it takes 20 turns to fire? The only two outcomes that come of this is either you kill the boss before the timer runs out or the boss kills you since relatively speaking you were on low health. How is the soul cannon gonna help in any way win the fight if the countdown is so damn high? You have to go out of your way to see it fired, which makes the whole "free win on the boss at a cost..." premise completely null. I wish the game had much harder boss fights so the soul cannon was made a more viable option for the player.

[h2] The Story [/h2]
Well, Ok. The gameplay could stand to be better, but how's the story? Well it has some good parts and some bad parts. The bad part is that it retcons a bunch of stuff in fuga 1 and unfortunately, starts the trend in this series of [spoiler] characters that died in the previous game(s) turn out to magically be alive!! Wow!!! [/spoiler] Which inevitably hurts Fuga 1's story for the worse, as messages it had now fall flat thanks to the new information given in this title. But if you are willing to look past that I do believe this game offers a really nice story on the endless cycle of revenge and letting go and moving on. Unfortunately [spoiler] It does make it more than a bit goofy when you are using it to redeem literal fascists that have killed a ton of people. This is most apparent with Baum and Stollen obviously, since this game turns them into “Haha funny comedy duo grandpas” like they aren't described in the first game as men that only see people's lives as a plaything in the game of war. Yikes. Another thing I do not particularly like is Cayenne turning comically evil the moment he gets his hands on the Belenos. He was SIGNIFICANTLY more compelling when he was mad at the ease with which the government of Gasco forgave the Berman when his whole family was taken from him by them, and as such his anger at wanting to kill the Berman and the Gasco officials that made the choice is somewhat understandable. But then when he gets his paws on the Belenos, suddenly his end goal becomes "EVERYONE MUST DIE. Even the innocent civilians in Gasco that did nothing wrong.” the velocity at which this dude goes from "taking it a little far, but somewhat justified anger at the system" to "War criminal" is insane. His controlling of Vanilla across the story is quite well executed, even if her literally blowing herself up but not dying if you're friends enough with her is kind of nonsensical but. whatever, I'll take it. [/spoiler]
Other than that, I think it is overall quite a nice story, you know not the best thing I've ever read, not even close, but definitely good!. However I will say I find it quite baffling the amount of events locked behind using the soul cannon when most people will never even use it. I want to say it was a bit of a waste to use development time like that, but oh well.

[h2] Replayability [/h2]
And now we go to another thing that this game tries to push: Replayability. I don’t understand why the devs decided that a plat forcibly required replaying the game through it's majority at least once and also locking some extra story material behind it. Did nobody playtest this? Replaying this game is a SLOG. It is SO slow, and the only thing in it is the plat and some extra cute tidbits of lore, that don't even have the decency to be as good as the ones in Fuga 1. The link convos in this game that actually add anything meaningful to the kid’s characters can be counted on the fingers of your hand, so it makes wanting to dig through the dozens of bond convos to look for any of the actually good stuff a waste of time. Out of the approximately 132 interactions in this game, like 90% consist of the kids exchanging harmless platitudes at one another that you forget 5 minutes after you read them because they lack any substance. I would have much preferred it if that number would have been cut in half or even to a third of it's current number if it meant all the bond convos that were left actually had something to say about the characters, ESPECIALLY when a ton of the link convos that ARE in the game are just retreading territory other convos go into! Ultimately they are another bandage that is put on the New game+ experience in an attempt to make it feel less repetitive by adding new content ( like the extra battles ) but it just makes you see how shallow the content is.

[h2] Closing thoughts [/h2]
I do believe this game is good. I think I do at least? There are just so many things about it I wish were better and / or were thought about more that make this game leave me with a big feeling of dissatisfaction. I wish I could say "I love this game!" and not "I accept it for what it is".
If you like turn based jrpgs and furries / kemonos, I recommend it, it is a very flawed but good experience. But unless you're someone that [b] really [/b] wants to get a plat on every game they play / you get super invested in the story, don't replay it to unlock the rest of the stuff. It's really not worth it, and will leave a sour taste in your mouth.

I have made a review singing praises about Fuga 1. Fuga 2 follows in the footsteps of its predecessor and improves upon the original tenfold. With an even better story, and improved gameplay to its original, its proof that Fuga has nowhere to go but up. The turn based gameplay is further improved and the difficulty has gone up while maintaining that degree of bite back, yet still fair. I would fully recommend playing Fuga 1 before moving onto Fuga 2, however.

Second verse, same as the first. Alternatively, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

For the most part it's very similar to the first game, which is not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, aside from a lot of the enemies being reused with some minor changes. It is however sporting some small but very welcome improvements to the gameplay. Most notably:
- The kids have fewer skills now, but the skills can now level up, improving damage, number of attacks or other effects. It feels like their kits are more distinct and specialized now, too.
- Malt is now recognized as the de facto protagonist and can randomly activate leader skills that are unlocked by the new paragon/renegade dialogue choices.
- The routes now have airship nodes, allowing you to use the shop mid-chapter, fly back to a previous node to clear up routes you have missed, drop some supplies or bomb an upcoming battle node. All for a certain price, of course.
- The barter system from the first game is gone, now you sell and buy items and materials for money, meaning that you finally have a use for old materials after upgrading something fully.
- The random chance of failing a task during an intermission is now replaced by a random chance of improved success (using less materials on upgrades/cooking or getting more loot from fishing).
- The expeditions are now a teeny tiny bit more involved, sometimes requiring you to charge the toy gun with an elemental crystal to proceed. It... does not help.
- The kids now have actual running animations, and I think there's more idle animations too.
- The Soul Cannon is no longer optional and can't just be ignored for the entirety of the game... kinda.

Gameplay aside, I'm a little torn when it comes to the story. For better or for worse, they gave the kids (and especially Malt, the protagonist) a little more characterization this time around. And the story itself is a little more involved than the simple "we must save our families" of the first game. However, in some places the actions and reactions of the characters were a little hard to buy, even if they are kids, or felt like they could only be justified with some intense mental gymnastics. Doubly so when it comes to certain very familiar characters showing up again. I would say the Soul Cannon continues being a detriment to the narrative too, even though it was almost fixed here. Still, I wouldn't necessarily call it terrible either, questionable at worst, and I am still excited to see where it goes in the third installment of the series.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 is a great sequel. The first one was a great struggle, this one was an emotional adventure. Let's explore the ups and downs of the game (+, +/-, -, ?):

+The story is way different from the first one, and I think this was a great choice. The twists and turns here are so much better than in the first one.
+The Soul Cannon is still here, and it's even creepier than before. There's a random element to it now, and it's a good source of panic. Fun times!
+The kids are still awesome, but I feel they've grown up a bit, which is more than welcome. Vanilla is the only new character in your party and she fits in really well*. The new baddies were also well-written and good for the game.
+Malt's arc was so emotional. One of the highlights of this awesome game. Made me cry a couple of times. Initially, I was sad that Hanna [spoiler] wasn't a playable character [/spoiler] here, but her part in the story was more than important.
+I loved that they did with the Berman characters. All of them!
+There's a rare element of mystery surrounding this game's storytelling; It's very smart with the things it doesn't explain to the player.
+The gameplay is almost the same as before, but the skills and characters are better balanced. All the new elements, like the aircraft support, are just great. It's weird how well everything's been improved since the previous title.
+Free time rules and now the 20 AP limit doesn't feel that limiting anymore.
+THE OST is again a great one. Just give it a go.
+The art style is as adorable as ever. I need some of these pics as my wallpaper.
+/- The ruins are still here, but they are easier than before. I wish they were expanded further, but they are still mostly fine, but the 5 AP cost is a bit too much for my liking.
+/- I'm not sure if I got better at the game or if this is overall just an easier title. It's still super fun, but the final fights felt very easy.
+/- There's a lot to unlock, but the conditions are a bit annoying. But then again...
-...The game's surprisingly short.
-*Wappa is still the most useless character. Not only does she bring almost nothing to the game, her skills are mostly poor at best.

Having played the first game and absolutely enjoyed it, this (in my opinion) is how a sequel should be made, it expanded on the good stuff, added more quality of life, and changed the things that wasn't impactful in the first game into something better.
Overall, this is an amazing game and I highly recommend playing the first one first (for the story, and getting to know the characters), the gameplay loop is mostly the same.

·增加了飞空艇模式，在飞空艇支援点可以实施空袭、补给或者运输
·灵魂加农炮改为血量低于一定比例时自动发动（休息期间安抚加农炮可以降低触发阈值），而且灵魂加农炮献祭的人不再是由玩家选择，而是随机自动选取
·除了灵魂加农炮外，还有另一门威力稍弱一点的超级大炮，玩家可主动发射，需要手动选择操作员，发动后操作员会变成“受伤”状态

本作的触电debuff好用到爆，因此具有单体触电和群体触电技能的狗哥和小眼镜可以说是本作的版本T0。

本作全成就很好拿，但是除了全成就以外，还有个全齿轮，达成后可以解锁秘密影片。全齿轮的达成条件网上众说纷纭，但我个人感觉好像是跟两两好感度有关，我后面把好感度都提到快全满了，好像就突然全齿轮了……

全齿轮达成后，解锁的秘密影片其实是下一作——也就是本系列最终作的预告片。从片中可以看出，下一作的世界观将会有极其重大的扩展（类似于进击的巨人从第三季到第四季的那种跨越），值得期待~

Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 – it’s a continuation that doesn’t disappoint, but it doesn’t really bring anything super new either.

Story:
The story picks up where the first one left off, with the characters back in battle. If you played the first one, it’s pretty much the same, but this time there’s more focus on the characters’ inner struggles and emotions. It’s not just about surviving anymore, it’s about dealing with the aftermath of the war. It adds more emotional depth, though you still care more about winning battles than the characters themselves.

Gameplay:
The combat is the same turn-based tactical battles as the first game. There are a few new mechanics: improved character progression and more strategy options. But overall, nothing groundbreaking. The new *Soul Cannon* is still super powerful, but now using it comes with an even higher cost, which makes you think twice before firing it.

Visuals and Music:
It looks pretty much the same as before – nice, stylish anime visuals, nothing groundbreaking, but still pleasant to look at. The soundtrack is solid again, setting the right atmosphere when needed.

Conclusion:
Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 is basically more of the same, just with some improvements. If you liked the first game, it’s definitely worth playing. But if you haven’t played the first one, give it a try, just don’t expect any massive changes.

My original negative review is at the bottom. I have since not only finished the game, I have written an ongoing fan fiction series about it. This game as a whole package is on the same level as the first game, in some ways exceeding it. It is rare for a video game series to be so inspiring that it drives me to be creative, so that should give you an idea about how highly I regard this series. I can only imagine how Fuga 3 will continue to inspire me when it comes out in a couple months.

Y’all are monsters, CyberConnect2. You don’t give the option to disable autosave and/or allow me to reload a save mid-battle. You made the Managarm underpowered and only usable once per battle. You made bosses so tanky that I had to look up a guide - after the game fired the Soul Cannon WITHOUT MY CONSENT- so I can figure out how to do more than chip damage to them.

Now Mei’s dead, my antidepressants stopped working and I have to restart the game from the beginning to get my perfect ending. Thanks. Please fix or get rid of these garbage mechanics for Fuga 3.

对福瑞与剧情无感，冲着游戏性买的，玩下来非常平庸的作品，能玩，但也没有好玩的氛围。好评实在太多，打个差评对冲一下。
敌人来回倒腾就那几个，主角的攻击方式也很单一，就是来回变炮管。本来应该让人爽快的技能，又是伤害不写清楚难以抉择，又有限制度很大的SP来抑制玩家频繁使用技能。更加难受的是恢复SP的道具还一定要在战场上使用，战斗外不让用。
就算加上一些六岁儿童都能玩明白的解谜，游戏本身没有给我带来多少意料之外的乐趣，每关打完boss无论是战斗本身还是结算奖励都没有让我惊喜兴奋的地方，麻木在重复木棍敲龙虾的动作。甚至战斗中各种miss还非常影响战斗评价与玩家心情。

I know what some of you are saying, "The game itself is great, but the price isn't reasonable, 1 game is 35$, and buying both is 70$, that's equivalent to the newest call of duty" put your complaints away, and be patience until steam is doing a big sale, it's more worth it to wait than buying the full price. there's also a demo version for a reason.

買ってからしばらく経つが、コミカライズやPRなどの通知が頻繁にあり、製作陣のやる気を強く感じる。
ゲーム面は前作が好きなら買って損はしないだろう。
2人ペアをどんな組み合わせで配置するか考えるのが楽しい。

After finishing the first game, i just finished the second.

This is the first game with satisfying developpment on the story of a lot of beloved characters.
The gameplay didn't change much from the first game, but is still satisfying as hell. With some very cruel addition in the difficulty that kept me on my toes.

I'll have you know i only cried twice throughout the game.

If there is a heaven and I need to explain myself before getting in, I will use getting the true ending on both Fuga games as exhibit A.

If you haven't played Fuga 1, I recommend playing the demo of that game and you'll know by the end of the tutorial chapter whether it has its claws in you or not. The store page here says you don't need to have played it, but you do.

If you have played Fuga 1, this is an unequivocal recommendation. Mechanically this is very similar, but all the tweaks and changes are positive, the story is more personal and affecting (with real character development from the first game), and the Soul Cannon is now genuinely ominous rather than a background feature.

The sequel to the first Fuga game, it's an enhanced version of the first game generally with a few new mechanics, and a slightly more involved system of choice and consequence.

Visually it looks about the same, UI, character design, world setting; it's all very similar to the first. Music and sound is also much the same, even down to Japanese and French as the only voice options.

The characters are a year older, and since they were (sometimes very young) children in the first game, there's a fair bit of growth and change between them. This includes how they generally look, their personalities and mindsets, and changes in how they interact with each other and how they play as game characters. Several characters have different skills, roles, or even weapons which can throw you off a bit from the first game. Only Malt, Boron, and Mei are relatively unchanged, other characters are slightly to extremely different from their role in the first. Some changes represent their character growth (especially Sheena), others reflect upon the needs of the group (such as Chick).

Combat is basically the same, except that you now have additional leader skills Malt can do randomly, which are based around a new choice and consequence system. Difficulty is close to the same, with some spikes and valleys just like the first game. Chapter 9 and 10 are pretty spikey, with a lot of long, dangerous, and drawn out resource draining fights while a few other chapters are less so.

Storywise it's a bit more mixed. I like some of the story aspects, but also felt some fell flat a bit. It's not as cohesive as the first game's war story. Overall it's a little darker, with a few more twists. You do find out the reason the Taranis was built to be operated by children if you read the lore notes which was a bit of a mystery in the first.

A few new features are:
* The Soul Cannon is a bigger threat, and not a last resort thing you never want to use. When you reach a certain HP threshold chapter 3 and on, you will have a character randomly chosen (a small number of story significant characters can never be chosen until the resolution of their story) and you have 20 turns (remember each action is considered a turn) to kill your foe or the Soul Cannon will fire, killing that character.
* There's a Managarm cannon as a new addition. This can be used in any battle to do massive damage but will cost you the XP and knock out a character you choose to power it. The character is not lost, but cannot be used until the next intermission when you spend 5 AP to have them sleep.
* There's a morality system, several decisions will give you an option for Empathy or Resolution. Empathy emphasizes supporting your teammates, helping out citizens, and provides more defensive leadership skills. Resolution emphasizes working toward a goal, and provide more offensive leadership skills. Endings are determined by your placement on this morality meter.

Overall, it's more of the same, but better gameplay wise. Story is more mixed but it does explain some of the lore and mysteries from the first game.

可能很多人会觉得主角或者汉娜圣母，但反复琢磨，并非如此。剧情从1代到本代形成了完美的闭环，一饮一啄，莫非前定。开启祸端的人受到了惩罚，然后自己弥补了曾经的错误，拯救了世界；满受恶意而生的人，自然也会报复社会，但是接触了真善美的情况下，恶人也能放下屠刀，救人一命；主角学会放弃憎恨，原谅与拯救的人，也会在冥冥之中回报自己。多么完美的剧情设计。
战斗回合制策略，和玩的P5和星轨有相似之处，哈哈哈，如果喜欢类似的回合策略战斗游戏，绝对能体会到极佳的游戏性；打击感也很好，击溃敌方的爆炸效果确实有爽到。
养成正反馈也很不错，建设坦克内部家园，培养羁绊，迷宫设计比一代更加复杂，也算有趣。
美术插画特别好看，音乐极佳。
PS: XP感觉被改变了,玩之前还不懂什么福瑞，玩之后只能说真可爱，哈哈哈，尤其是琪克在坦克里跟着音乐跳舞扭屁股，弟弟都有蜘蛛感应了

The Fuga games get an easy thumbs up recommendation from me

The gameplay is pretty simple conceptually, but it's got just the right amount of variety to make it fun and challenging without feeling unfair. You've got your weapons that each correspond to 1 of 3 colors, and you have to figure out how to use those the right way to exploit your enemies weaknesses. The different abilities and support effects that your party members have add another layer on top, and can really give you an edge in tough battles.

And then there's the soul cannon. From what I've seen it seems that people are hesitant to play because of this feature. Yes, you can sacrifice one of your party members (all of whom are young children) to obliterate your enemy if you're in a pinch. In part 2, they doubled down and made it mandatory if your health drops too low. That said, I've never had to use it once in either game. As long as you're careful about healing and take a defensive approach, especially in boss battles, it's entirely avoidable. I wasn't a fan of the "pray to the soul cannon feature" that they added tbh, but you can use it to greatly lower the hp threshold at which the soul cannon activates.

In terms of the story, I thought it was very well crafted and interesting. Technically you don't HAVE to play part 1 first, there are some features that will help you catch up if you take that route. BUT, I really would highly recommend playing part 1 first. The maturation of the children from part 1 to part 2 is one of the best parts of the story, and the main "plot twist" that sets up the climax is 100x more impactful if you've played part 1. They're both fairly recent games, and there's not really a downgrade of any sort between part 1 and 2 so you might as well start from the beginning in my opinion.

I love both Fuga's, they are excellent from both a gameplay and story perspective and I would highly recommend this series if it sounds at all interesting to you.

This instalment of Fuga builds fantastically on the development of characters and setting from the first game. However, unlike the first game, this sequel forces you to actually experience the consequences of tough decisions for a longer period of time. There are also new mechanics to make the combat and recess stages more thought provoking.

Overall, the story is excellent, with intriguing plot points tied together by hints set up in the first game. The combat is simple yet exciting.

This game series is quite solid. You didn't disappoint me with the first one, which was a pleasant surprise, and this sequel is also great. It was fun. Yes. Perfect? Not for everyone. Was it worth it? Yeah, although I think they should have sold it for $30 at release, because the game, while great, is a budget game that should be treated as a budget game. Fuga 2 has a ton of competition in the $40+ bracket. I honestly think it has difficulty competing because much cheaper games are out there.

Fuga, and games like it, only are loved because their story exists. They often take away, leaving us begging for the completion of the story, and the fulfillment must pay off. This one does. However, upon completion, such games lose value for a time. This might seem like a bad thing, but it isn't because this game fulfilled its obligation to pay off the story. Did they sequel bait? Sure, but Fuga 2 is fulfilling, and that's what matters. In a world where I recently suffered the plotholes and unfinished ideas of Visions of Mana, and the terrible payoff of some platformer games, I am thankful that Fuga put in some serious effort.

It's an RPG where your tank kids each have a gun but share a health and energy pool. Save the world from the evil ancient human boy with bad tank that and save your friends.

Here are my only gripes:
Your game needs English dubs, because I do believe it could catch a bigger audience with them.
You need to release Tail Concerto and Solotolobo for Steam.
You have some strong difficulty jumps at moments. although they are manageable.
You also deserve bigger recognition for your games.
You should have sold it for $10 less, although that's just my personal theory on marketing your game.
