Friki is an online co-op investigative horror. Solve the reasons why these ghosts have died, determine a ghost type, and if you are brave enough, exorcise the ghost.
The world is in pandemonium, it’s up to you and your team to either investigate or exorcise the ghost. You will be tasked with solving how the ghost passed away and determining which ghost you are dealing with. Once you have solved the ghost's death and know which ghost it is, you can attempt to exorcise the ghost. Experience horror like never before as every aspect of the game focuses on terrifying players and keeping players on edge. Play with your friends or find others to try investigating these horror cases the world needs you to solve. At least 5 different ghost models exist to provide their own unique horror, so enjoy solving unique stories when experiencing ghosts across different levels. You must solve the mystery of how the ghost died in order to banish the ghost.

Almost no tutorial,
absolutely abysmal direction.
you have no idea what you are supposed to do once you enter the game.
For me the EMF and UV light were both bugged the entire time I played and could not turn on either one of them.
The game has no direction or difficulty settings far as I can tell.
There is nothing to tell you how big a map is .
The new zone you enter when being killed is 100% trash. it expects you to do awkward first person platforming that is just hot garbage.
There are no hiding spots once the hunt starts expect to die.

The game needs a ton of work before it is any where close to ready.

The difficulty is quite high so you're scared to death if you play alone, but it's twice as fun playing with friends. The dancing and music are fun!

Bugs galore.
- The textures are blurry regardless of specs or settings,
- Items glitch and disappear.
- Sometimes, your game will stop registering right click, which means you can no longer use anything you're holding.
There are more, little things that I wouldn't mind honestly, but those 3 are enough to ruin the game.
Its a great idea but there's several things id like to mention that just didn't feel right trying to get into this game again
-You can Die in the tutorial (training) session
-Due to the above mention this makes it not new player friendly i understand some games aren't hand holdy in their tutorial but between the above note and the following note its a little bit rough.
-You can almost immediately get sent to the death maze on entering the house. (I've had this happen twice in a row being sent to the maze the first time was about 1 minute and 30 seconds in the second time was about 1 minute in)
These are just a few I've seen so far on the negative side this game has good ideas its just rough around all the edges.
Ill be hanging around to see how this game evolves over the updates (and will probably be back to this comment)

Buggy, very buggy, yet fun. It is gradually improving with time, and the mysteries are fun. I wish there was a graphics improvement since the odd wonkiness just throws me off. Also don't like the execution of the Bitcoins. Concept is great, but the execution needs help.
Definitely has a really good presence in the ghost hunting genre. Yes it is in early access, Yes it has bugs, needs polishing, but the game makes up for through shear investigation. I love how the developers have made the game so far by keeping you looking for clues, finding the ghost and extra equipment hiding in the map. I love that they have made a background for all
the ghosts and it's up to you to find out how they died and who did. I love the mystery behind it all it is very interesting and I
can't wait to see what the developers do next.

The game has a lot of potentials, they re still room to improve the game, but especially after the last big updates the devs have fixed most of the bugs and you can really enjoy a good Ghost Hunting investigation game.

I only have 3 hrs of playtime on this game. We are trying our best to like this game but the multiplayer game play was so bad that we just Alt 4 and exited. the server was so laggy, When two players were near each other and by a door, we couldn't open the door or the door would open and close by itself. I noticed that my saved keybindings have been returned to default.
The E button and or the flashlight button wouldn't work sometimes.
I think we are gonna take a little break from this game.

this game is way better then phasmophobia it is ez to survive hunts u can loop ghost and loot item s but i want the developer s to fix inventory and head camera when u get hit by the ghost couse its inverted when u get hit but other wise this game is a 10 /10 hope we get more maps and more ghost name pls add my name butcher christoffer xD
having some glitching issues and for some reason i can't get the game to go full screen but besides that I'm loving the it. The only other issue is the ritual. having trouble jumping to some of the rocks. don't know if there is a certain path that needs to be taken or not.

A lot of fun with friends, i'm excited to see how this game progresses. The are a few glitches and bugs but for such an early access game that is to be expected.

Ich gab dem Spiel eine Chance und sah das Potential und Konzept dahinter. Es ist aber zu diesem Zeitpunkt nicht ganz ausgereift. Ja es mag sein, daß nur zwei Personen dahinter stehen und Updates immer Dienstags kommen, aber trotzdem kann man schon ein halbwegs gutes Spiel erwarten. Probleme wurden den beiden Entwicklern via Discord übermittelt, Sie brauchen schließlich auch irgendwie Feedback von den Kunden, bei Problemen, die Sie vielleicht nicht entdeckt haben. Ich verfolge mal die Entwicklung des Spiels und vielleicht, wenn es spielbar ist, sieht man mich hier wieder und die Rezension verwandelt sich von einem Daumen runter zu einem Daumen nach oben.
Es macht zwar echt schon Spaß wegen den verbuggten Türen und ist auch eine Abwechslung zu Phasmophobia, aber die Buggs steigern und steigern sich. Ich und ein Kumpel wären fast fertig gewesen, da ist dann einfach unser Ziel weggebuggt.
Fazit:
Aktuell viel zu verbuggt (20.02.2022; 18:57 Uhr). Man könnte es später eventuell noch eine Chance geben, aber so nicht. FPS droppen auch extrem.
Updated: While this game has been in early access, the updates just keep improving the game play. There are still a few bugs that i've run into but the game is getting soooo much better. Keep up the good work, guys!!
The idea behind this game seemed so fun, but there is no way to actually play this game. It doesn't tell you how to use items, what can be used as evidence, and the clues are much to vague to actually help you at all. On top of this, there are a couple mechanics that just don't make any sense. For example, the door disappearing when hunts happen. There was also issues with getting friends to join your lobby, displaying incorrect character information with health and psychosis. The idea is great, but the kinks really need to be ironed out for this to be a playable game.

Game is good. Still glitchy when playing with friends. Sometimes the items host brings doesnt work properly for others. But i would give it a 7.5-8 out of 10. Cant wait for more updates.

Doesnt work properly even on the best computer. You can't do anything in this game. It looked fun but it isnt playable. Play devour or phasmo instead :(. If the game was 0.99$ then maybe id change this review.

I love this game. By far my most favorite. Scares me every time. I love that the developer is constantly updating. Thank you. We have tons of fun and play for hours. It is early access so why not give it a chance. It's worth it.

It's early access, but the story line is so much fun. I can't wait for the bugs to be patched and see this game continue to get better and better!
Definitely worth a play, especially for the cost. I'm looking forward to playing this game with my friends and listening to them actually get scared. I especially really love the tablet feature that allows you to be mobile with your objectives, that was one thing I had a difficult time with in Phasmo. I also really enjoy the looting to encourage all users to run around and get objects they might not be able to afford in game!

Def needs a bit of work, cant wait to see what this becomes great potential. i would recommend it for having its own game type, ive played many games of this genre and this one is different.
I love this game so far. Dont mind these noobs that expect games to be perfect. This game is nothing like any of the other ghost hunting games. It just came out and has it's flaws but no reason to flat out give it a bad review because it isn't a completely finished AAA game.

Game looks interesting. But at this current state is literally unplayable. Too laggy not optimized etc. I understand that its in early access and it just got released today but still. Anyways with the right bug fixes , optimizations and content updates I can see this game taking the crown in it's category.

I would not recommend this game in its current state (released today at the time of writing this). I understand the game is early access but the game is not smooth to play, glitchy, and it needs a lot of improvement. The controls are janky as hell. Teaming up with others is not straight forward and made harder than it need be. There is no indication of difficulty level when selecting a house to investigate. Menus often glitch out. I could not back out of the lobby board to get my equipment when playing with a friend, and when an investigation was completed, I could not use the lockers whilst in my friends lobby. This needs to change as it is annoying to unteam so you can use the locker to then have to go through the hassle of re-teaming up afterwards. If these things are changed and improvements made then this could be a good alternative to other "ghost hunting" type games. The gameplay itself is interesting and different to other games of its type, as you have to investigate how the person died rather than what kind of ghost they are.
Hopefully there will be some updates to improve the game, and when that happens I will update my review.
UPDATE: I have come back to the game today, 02/02/2023, almost a year later, and not much has improved. The game is still riddled with bugs and it is barely playable because of them. I joined my wife in a game, and I could not use any items, they just refused to work. I could not hear all of the in game sounds, only some of them. If I could refund this, i would, but I stupidly kept the game too long in the hope that it would improve.

Friki as a game has mostly been fun. Instead of gathering information to identify a ghost, you gather clues to solve a murder before the ghost can kill you.
I purchased the game day 1, and seen many updates since. One of the major updates, the Ghost Realm, took away from the game. Once you find out how the person died, you have can enter the ghost realm itself to purge the ghost forever, or something like that. The ghost real consists of platforming while some sort of ghost turret shoots you. Additionally, recently a they added ectoplasm to the houses that can be sucked up via handheld vacuum. This game is crap for platforming which leads to falling down into a void and dying (if you want the full payout. I just over look this entirely) and walking around with a vacuum is silly.
Also there's no consestancey with the ghosts, items don't work half the time, and you cannot hide
Honestly, I don't know exactly what these are supposed to add to the game. It would be better off if these two mechanics were removed.

This review is written on the second day of release and after 3 hours of gameplay.
I really enjoy this game.
The game goes in a unique direction; unlike the other ghost-hunting games before this, there's no need in identifying (and in some cases exorcising) the ghost. Instead, the game asks you to solve a murder mystery by finding clues throughout the house while at the same time surviving the ghost attack.
While it may be easy for this game to be written off as a Phasmo/GHC/Obsideo clone, it plays its own game by not having to identify a ghost. While there are paranormal evidences that can be collected for extra money, the primary goal is to discover what happened to the victim, staying in the house longer and longer as you try and find the clue spread across the house. In my first successful play-through the clues I found were a kinfe, a camera, a puzzle, and another knife. The first knife was located in a bedroom, the camera in a laundry room, and the puzzle in a family room on the second floor. After finding each of the clues I had to bring the murder weapon (another knife) to a bedroom. It was a fun easter-egg hunt.
Another thing this game does differently are minigames. Things that are broken need to be repaired and are done so with pressing buttons at the right time, puzzles need to be actually put together, and you need to lock pick safes as well. All of this is done with the possibility of a Ghost attack, so it really dials up the pressure.
The game also separates itself from the above mentioned games by introducing health in addition to sanity. The ghost will throw stuff at you; I was hit in the face by a vase, so it's important to make sure you have medical supplies handy.
AND, in the even you lose everything in the game, items are scattered around the house which encourages looting. In the above mentioned game I walked in with a flashlight, an EMF, and a candle. At the end of it I had 3 sets of pills (for psychosis [this game's sanity]), 2 bandages, and 2 cameras. Looting will also allow you to find keys which allow you to access locked doors.
Does the game have issues? Yes, but it's in early access and nothing I've found has been debilitating to my game play. Regardless of the quirks I really enjoy this game, and I'm stoked to see it evolve.
