This game is definetly beginner player friendly. The game is very straightforward and you just point and click to decorate your little areas.

This game is more decorative based, there is nothing more to do then create your own worlds with loads of customizable options and even though this game is an older one it definetly has a lot of different ways you can design you lands. Compared to some other decoration games this game doesn't have as many options for your buildings and such, however, do not let that sway your choice for if you are interested in trying this game.

This was interesting for about the first 30 minutes, but after that it just felt limited and frustrating. I guess if you've never used a fully-featured 3D scene editor it feels okay for plopping assets onto a scene, but ultimately it's less stressful and probably faster to create a scene by just using something like the Unity scene editor itself.
I guess having a built-in library of 3D assets out of the box is kind of nice, but that's it.
Performance is also not great (Ryzen 9 9950X and Intel Arc B570).
It is what it is. I've made some really cool scenes with it. Google "flickr flowscape gallery" to see what people have made, either alone or in combination with gimp and other art tools. Some of it is very impressive.
It is more than a little janky. And the detractors are correct that the UI has a lot of friction and you must rely on YouTube to learn how to use it. For instance, it supports importing outside 3d models but you will only learn that from community tutorials. I've made everything from a rusty Mars sunrise to two frogs on a log under a moon in a cattail swamp. Though never in less than four hours.
The biggest problem is that it is both unpolished and undeniably abandoned. But still full price. At a minimum the dev should update the page and own the fact that development is over. He should also establish a new lower price to reflect that.
I wish I could recommend an alternative, but I haven't found one. It occupies a unique niche between professional tools like Blender that demand huge investment, and novelty apps that are little more than toys. I've never used anything that lets amateurs like me create such impressive scenes. I'm more than a little sad to see it so neglected. The unreached potential of this app is a loss.
If you're the creative type who is willing to spend a whole evening making just one cool picture, then I wholly recommend this on sale. You can and will make something beautiful with this if you try. If you're not willing to bleed a little for your art and just want something easy and shiny right now, then mage.space misses you. Either way, it is what it is.
This game has meant a lot to me over the years. Nothing quite like it.
Great Tool for Artist to create custom references and scenes with the addition of different lighting and shading as well. Easy to use and navigate. Has helped me with some more complex fantasy background settings :)

Am Anfang ist ein kleines Tutorial, was einem ein bisschen was erklärt und ein paar Grundlagen der Steuerung nennt. Allerdings muss ich sagen, dass ich hier selber viel Zeit mit rumprobieren investiert habe, bis ich wirklich alles verstanden habe. (Um ehrlich zu sein, bin ich mir immer noch nicht sicher, ob es nicht noch mehr gibt, was man alles einstellen kann).
Am Anfang ist das alles sehr überfordernd. Aber gebt hier wirklich nicht gleich auf.
Es lohnt sich am Ende wirklich sehr =)
Von Baumhöhe, über Breite, wehende Blätter, Wetterveränderungen, Hintergründe, verschiedene Bauelemente bis hin zu Lichtverhältnissen, hier gibt es wirklich immens viele Möglichkeiten, Einstellungen zu treffen, zu ändern und genau anzupassen.
Von jedem Schmetterling, bis hin zur Wasserquelle und jedem einzelnen Lichtstrahl, ist hier alles änderbar. Selbst das Terrain, die Farben, Steine und jedes kleine Detail. Dies macht es für mich unheimlich spannend und es ist toll, am Ende zu sehen, was man selber "erschaffen" hat =)
Man kann viel probieren, testen und auch im Nachhinein noch verändern oder gar entfernen.
Jede Szene ist dabei absolut einzigartig und besonders.
Hier steckt die Liebe im Detail: Jeder Lichtpunkt, jedes Wasser, jedes Wetter und deren Auswirkungen, wie z.B. Schnee und Regen, verändern die Szenerie immens. Man kann sogar bestimmen, wie viel Schnee auf dem Boden oder den Bäumen ist. Auch Leuchtkäfer oder Blickpunkte mit Hilfe von Lichtverhältnissen sind hier machbar und ändern das ganze Artwork ab =)
Auch Bauelemente, wie Häuser, Tiere und mehrere Dekoelemente sind hier nutzbar, die man nach Lust und Laune, in Größe, Breite, Dicke etc. anpassen kann =)
Was am Anfang immer schön ist, ist das man ein Stück Erde sieht, was bebaut wird und man darf festlegen, ob man eine neue Szene möchte, die Pflanzen nur entfernen will oder man passt von vorne herein das Terrain mit seinen Höhen, Tiefen und Wasser, Lava oder sonstigem selber an.
Da ich große Natur- und Szenen - Liebhaberin bin, ist für mich dieses Programm einfach perfekt.
Ob als Artwork, Hintergrund, Fotogeschenk oder auf Papier oder Wandbild gebracht, man hat unendliche Kreative Möglichkeiten mit dem Endergebnis.
Vor allem ist man stolz und freut sich, selber "Erschaffer seiner eigenen, kleinen Landschaft" zu sein =D
Von mir gibt es hier eine absolute, klare Herzensempfehlung für alle, die sich kreativ und Naturtechnisch ausprobieren möchten =)
This was not at all "effortless" as described. The UI is so clogged and hard to read, and I was left unimpressed by the graphics. the game also crashes sometimes and the camera controls are unpredictable t say the least.
There was also no tutorial to speak of- and, sure, I could find one on YouTube but why would it not just come with a PAID game ??- so that was incredibly frustrating.
This was not worth the price point of $17 and I would absolutely love a refund for this, as (for me) it was unplayable and thus unenjoyable.

The game is alright, but honestly its just not enough. It feels a little limiting and for the price? You're better off spending it on something else. It doesn't get updated anymore either, so dont come back to check on it. Remove it from the wishlist, leave it alone. Glad I got it on sale, yikes.
A landscape software... WITHOUT MEASURING TOOLS?!
Flowscape has the same damnable issue as Zoo Planet - and the more you play, the more it becomes apparent in the loading screens... You can't do 'crafts 1.0.1' and take measures first to plan your build (unless you're willing to stack zebras on top of each other to gauge height...)
I mean, how is anyone supposed to check actual line-of-sight and field-of-view if there is no way of making sure your subject is at the intended distance and elevation, in relation to your location??? How can anyone figure the right scale for each object in the composition? Trial and error? Considering there is no 'undo' button and that the eraser is rather 'all or nothing', that's self-flagellation.
This alone makes Flowscape futile for both artistic reference and RPG-mapping (not to mention world-building...)
But then, to add insult to injury, the 3D objects' scales are randomly incompatible too, forcing you to scrap an entire project when you realize that, oops, these houses cannot be scaled any smaller, which will make that cathedral look like a shed... And, oops, the only palissade dwarves all the motte towers on a large map... And of course, by default, there is no cow, no goat, no pig, no wheat, no ploughed field, no herb garden models, even though the software is labelled 'medieval'... Could Steam take down that tag, please? Please.
Now, I get that not everyone wants to keep at least one foot on the ground when reaching for the stars... Their funeral.
I still wish there was a warning like 'NOT FOR PEOPLE LOOKING TO CULTIVATE THEIR CONNECTION TO REALITY THROUGH ARTISTIC ESCAPISM"
Well, I haven't been using Flow Scape for that long, so it might still be a bit early for a review. However, I feel like I've understood everything well and if I notice anything else later, I can always revise it. And one thing I want to mention right away: Before I bought it, I read something in the reviews, but so far I haven’t once experienced the issue where placed elements suddenly go missing despite saving. If that happened more often, we’d be having a very different conversation. The toolbar/inventory menu and the save menu could use some slight improvements, I often press save twice because I’m unsure if it actually saved.
To quickly add to that, yes the controls aren't always precise and could use a bit more fine-tuning. Some details and animations could also be more refined but as it stands, it's definitely sufficient and good enough.
There is a discussion on Steam, with claims that the developer made false promises and that Flow Scape is an abandoned one with no updates in the past years or any planned for the future. Allegedly, the developer is only interested in working on their next game, which is quite similar and called OceanScape. I can't really assess the situation at this point, for me personally the software is functional enough to work with, but I do understand how it creates a strange impression when no updates have been released for many years.
Apparently you can't export your creations to edit them in another software, but I haven't found anything claiming that this was ever supposed to be possible. However, I have read multiple times that you are allowed to use screenshots and videos for your projects without needing a license and that's exactly what I'm using it for, mainly for short stories.
It also allows you to run an automatic camera sequence, making it a good tool for creative minds who want to craft their own landscapes for a presentation, event visuals or cover artwork. With a wide range of design options, it's ideal for artists, storytellers and hobbyist world-builders.

Very fun for if you're in the mood to just create something of your own. I do wish there was more variety of animals and that they all had multiple different poses but it's not anything big. I enjoy making different scenes and more.
There is no option to adjust the sound. Game is always loud. Always need to adjust sound in my pc settings.

This is an interesting game but it doesn't feel like its for me. It feels more like a demo than anything else but that.s just me. Maybe it's because they never finished updating it. I think the last update was in October of 2021. But hey if you like to create random landscapes be my guest, this game is cheap enough to get.
It's okay, especially if you're looking for something casual to build nice landscapes. Apparently, my pc can't run it as well even though it runs Hogwarts Legacy fine, so that's something to consider. There are a ton of micro freezes that just sucks the fun out of it as well. If you're fine with it stuttering in small slices and the janky camera, I'd say give it a go.
I did expect a bit more for the money I paid. This plays like a janky engine demo. Don't know what people are talking about, to me the graphics of the native objects and landscapes look rough and pixelly even on "high" resolution. So far it doesn't live up to the trailer videos. Maybe I'll give it another chance in a couple days...
Can't stand the music in game.
It's an interesting concept, but a pain to work with in reality. All kinds of bugs with models. I save a file only to open it up back later to find deleted objects that reappear and cannot be deleted. Was hoping to use this to model a park for a work project and it is not working very well at all unfortunately.
For someone that doesn't have time to learn Unreal, Flowscape is amazing! There are tons of features and options for creating any kind of would imaginable!
This game is amazing!!! It has the flexibility to modify the scene to perfection without the complexity of a 3D design tool. I love it.
Someone compared it with Tiny Glade. Both produce aesthetically appealing scenes. Though their purpose is very different. Tiny Glade is focused on relaxation and simplicity. Flow Scape is focused on details and precision.
The UI is intuitive with plenty of useful tools. It also has a help popup screen to briefly explain the keyboard and mouse functions with a graphical diagram. I was able to select and modify an initial landscape. I then added a house, some trees, and moose. After that I explored the tools and had breakfast.
This is the type of game for those who enjoy creating with precision, flexibility, and a human friendly UI.

A real shame, game has been abandoned after so many dazzling promises. Loved it, but its been abandoned with all the promises by the dev broken. This game is dead, I wouldn't recommend buying it.

Endless possibilities and the graphics are great!
FlowScape was a diamond in the rough. It had so much potential but, unfortunately it seems to have been abandoned by the developer years ago because of family problems. This is a hobby level app that you can use to quickly and easily create simple outdoor scenes. This is NOT a professional level app but if your are a hobbyist you fill be surprised at the caliber of content that can be created. If you ever used Bryce or Vue Studio, it is reminiscent of Bryce's simplicity, but technologically more advanced.
Here are the pros:
-Very easy to learn and use with a very shallow learning curve. You don't need to read a ton of manuals or view endless You Tube videos to understand how it works.
- The controls are very intuitive and overall the app is very friendly to operate and create truly satisfying scenes. If you have ever used a 3D program you fill feel at home in no time at all.
- Ability to create really beautiful scenes. This DOESN'T feel like a cheap 3D program with lots of low res objects. On the contrary I am always pleasantly surprised how beautiful is the interface and how good the results look. This really is a niche program. It is limited in what it does, but what it does it does really well.
- Ability to insert some animated animals and effects (like butterflies, flying leaves, horses, fish, etc) is a really nice touch
- You can import your own assets via OBJ format, but (as I mention below) that process is hit and miss
The cons:
- Like I said earlier, this project has been abandoned and we may never see updates
- This game has many glitches and you need to be prepared to deal with crashes and strange behaviors. Save your work frequently
- This game DOES NOT have an undo button, so if you make a mistake for instance by deleting or adding something accidentally, you have no recourse but to manually repeat your last step.
- Very limited range of assets mostly limited to medieval type furnishings and structures, which might be ok if you like that genre.
- There are no human beings in the assets library (unless you import your own assets via the OBJ format, which is sometimes hit and miss)
- Inability to export scenes to other programs to continue working. Like I said at the beginning this IS NOT a professional level app and if you are a professional considering this program, you may need to look elsewhere.
Conclusion:
-In spite of its many limitations and probable short shelf life (because it will never be updated to keep up with operating system changes) this program is a really nice and easy way to create some beautiful but simple outdoor scenes. My recommendation is that if you are the creative type or hobbyist and would like to create 3D scenes with not a ton of work, go ahead and give it a try. Steam occassionally put this on sale, so you might be able to pick it up for under $5. This app is very easy to use and the results are very rewarding, so enjoy it while it lasts.
I will leave the cat here, so that everybody who passes by can pet it and give it a thumbs up and awards.

It would be a great design tool if it didn't lag like hell and have constant 3-6 fps.
Good to make screenshot if you have the patience to deal with how slow and laggy it is.

Fun and relaxing.
I enjoy painting but I can get no where near as realistic as this.
it looks great visually, until you realize that there is no actual tutorial built into the game and the devs are so lazy they uploaded a "tutorial" on YT. unreal. it's also been abandoned by the devs and instead of allowing workshop content they pretty much screwed ppl out of being able to modify the "game"[app] to improve it.
とても綺麗な景色が作れるシミュレーター。自動生成でもりもり生えてくる植物を眺めてヨシ、クロースアップして世界観に浸るのもヨシ、もちろん自分で好みの景色を作ってヨシのゲーム(ゲーム？)です。特に課題はなく最初から全アイテムアンロック、空から太陽の位置まで調節可。かなり細部まで作りこまれてるので、かなりの至近距離から見ても綺麗です。風景だけでなく街並みも作れるので、ファンタジーな街とかも作れそう。ＢＧＭも環境音が選べるので、作りたい景色に合わせてセレクトするのがまた楽しいです。困ったところは何しろ綺麗なので、排熱処理がえぐいこと・・・ｗあとは追加アイテムみたいなものがない(専用モッドがどこかで配布されてるかも？)ので、今あるアイテムに満足してしまったら物足りなさを感じるかもしれない。いや今の時点でそれなりのアイテム数なんだけど。お花の追加もっとあったらいいな～～。お手入れやお世話をしなくていい盆栽ゲーが好きな人にはおすすめだし、風景写真撮るのが好きな人とかにもおすすめです。これはあんまり大きな声では言えないんですけど、もちろんプレイしたい時に買うのが一番ですがセール時の値段がとてもお得なので、そのお値段で買うと満足度が三割増しになるかもしれません。
Developer left the game! they promised much and barerly updated the game and then left.
As a long time GM, this tool finally allows me to quickly map out scenes with real flavor. I'm going to use it in conjunction with Dungeon Alchemist for future Foundry VTT games. I really hope additional content will come available over time.
Does not work with AMD GPUs.
Kind of useless with no export to STL or OBJ feature. Would love to 3d print my creations in here or even do some things in blender with it. But What you make in here stays in here, unfortunately.

I personally struggle with the controls/navigation and the general UI. Would love to have the option to adjust the navigation settings to other 3D software such as Maya (as I am used to that one). Would also be really nice to have the name of the plants available when hovering over them to make it easier to decide where to put them. Sometimes it's really hard to see what that plant is and I have to zoom in and out constantly (with the controls I am struggling with :-P) to to actually see what plant it is.
Aside from that, the assets look really beautiful. I absolutely love that you can add animals and insects, too! It's a really nice, chill game to escape reality :) Thank you for this game!
Шикарная задумка, НО... Игра просто не работает, после очередного раза, когда комп безвозвратно завис, игра просто перестала загружаться. Что касается самого геймплея, то за 10 минут игры из часа, то тут вам дают маленький квадратик на котором можно сделать три дерева и два зайца, дальше видимо надо выбрать фон и сфоткать это. Никаких масштабных городов и локаций сделать не выйдет, максимум деревню в три дома, если успеете до вылета.
It does what it does and it does it relatively well.
But keep in mind that updates are dead, so you get what you get!
It's a pretty impressive tool. It's not a finished product, but it could be used to do some pretty cool D&D stuff in the hands of someone who is very patient. :)

箱庭で自分の好きなオブジェクトを配置してじっくり楽しむゲーム。
難しい事もないので写真を撮る事が好きな方などにおすすめ。
じっくり空間作りして自分だけの息抜きの場を構築するのもいいリラックスになるのかも。
拡張性は薄いので割り切ってセールで手に入れるが吉。
With the online and youtube video tutorials, this software should be in every DM's tool kit. i can make animated maps that are simply amazing with Flowscape.
挺好的编辑器，操作的话个人感觉用过zbrush，3dmax，maya之类的人很好上手，主要区域只有一个方块，但是这个方块可以放大缩小，而且物品也可以放大缩小，如果觉得还不够，现在可以拓展外景，而且外景上也可以放植物动物那些，基本等于无限放大地图了，挺完善的。只有一个问题，我导入obj模型，贴图怎么导入呢？我只能导入一个黑模，没有贴图啊

The program is great for what I paid for. The community on discord is great and helps with any questions. At this point though it is a dead program, no progression after more than 2 years, promised updates shown on youtube never happened. The creator even came back this year and gave us hope and promised the update would be completed in a couple weeks. He asked for some money to be able to finish and promptly vanished.
Really disappointing application. Fun to toy around with, but lack of assets, absence of steam workshop, and poor optimization makes this fairly dated. Avoid this one.

Fazit:
Als erstes muss man hier erwähnen: Flowscape ist kein Spiel. Eher ein Programm, welches dazu dient Umgebungen zu gestalten.
Die Grafik ist dabei schön, aber das ist auch das einzig gute daran.
Durch die Steuerung macht sich die Bedienung schwer. Darüber könnte man noch hinwegsehen, wenn da nicht der begrenzte Platz wäre. Wer sich eine größere Welt erschaffen möchte, ist hier ein bisschen fehl am Platz. Man sucht sich eins der wenigen Terrains aus und platziert die wenigen Inhalte dann darauf. Leider kann man die bestimmten Inhalte nur sehr wenig bis gar nicht ändern. Wiederholende Muster kann man damit nicht vermeiden. Am Ende kann man ein Screenshot machen und das war es auch dann schon. Für mehr ist es wahrscheinlich auch nicht gedacht gewesen. Wer auf so etwas aus ist: Holt es euch! Dem Rest sage ich nur das es nicht Empfehlenswert ist!!!!
Useful tool for creating D&D maps. Especially if you are going to make 3D or flyover components for it.

Technically it is not too bad, but you can get roughly the same pictures/vibes when you install something like UE5 and place assets and build environments there
For some this application is great. I read a review about an elderly artistic lady using this because she can't do other things because of her old age and that is amazing. But for me it looks like a plain sandbox that has Unity lightning. The trailer lightning makes this game look amazing and then when you go in it just looks bad. I guess this just isn't for me.
Music is fantastic and really relaxing, and the environments are pretty awesome, though like most people say, there isn't really support for the game anymore on their Steam pages(I'm not joining their discord), and the amount of built-in objects is super lacking, so you need to import most things yourself unfortunately.
