Eternights est un jeu qui m’a laissé une impression plus positive que ce que je pensais au début.

Au départ, le jeu donne l’impression d’être une version allégée de Persona, avec son système de calendrier, de relations et de donjons. Les personnages ne sont pas particulièrement mémorables, l’écriture peut être un peu immature par moments, et la bande-son ne marque pas vraiment.

Cependant, le jeu se rattrape sur d’autres aspects. Les combats sont agréables, les séquences animées sont réussies, et surtout l’histoire, bien que classique (fin du monde), arrive à rester intéressante. La fin est également réussie, ce qui laisse une bonne impression globale.

Ce n’est clairement pas au niveau d’un Persona, mais pour un projet plus modeste, c’est une expérience plutôt solide et plaisante à parcourir.

Un jeu imparfait, mais sincère.

To put it simply, this game is… good and bad. When I first opened it, the menu looked pretty bad and honestly made me think the game might be a scam. But after playing for a bit, I stuck with it—it kept me interested enough to go through it twice.

Honestly, there’s a lot to that could be critisized here. The pacing feels off, the dialogue can be confusing at times (maybe due to translation issues), and the story is pretty basic. The combat is simple, but surprisingly, the voice acting is actually pretty good compared to everything else. The gameplay follows a structure similar to the Persona series, which is what drew me to it in the first place.

That said, I’d still call this game “good.” It has plenty of flaws, but considering the context of its development, there’s more good here than bad. This was made by a solo developer, and you can really feel the ambition behind it. If you judge it by standard expectations, it falls short—but if you look at it as a passion project, you start to see its strengths.

It feels like a good game that just needed more polish. That’s really what it’s missing. With more refinement, it could’ve been something much better than what it is now.

I’d still recommend it, because for what it is, it’s pretty impressive.

Narrative and aesthetic are interesting enough but the combat system is infuriating. It basically hinges on raising a super gauge based on successful dodges and combos to snowball damage but is plagued by bad dodge registrations, overwhelming enemy numbers, and un-staggerable enemies. It tries to give you some grace by giving the player character invincible frames to allow a combo to be performed after a dodge but again the window for hitting a dodge is either way too unforgiving or just doesn't register at all. Not to mention that some enemies attack "tell" is just nothing. You can't even visually see it and when you are getting dogpiled by 6 enemies its infuriating to get juggled because of a dodge that didn't register just to get sent back to a checkpoint so far back you want to cry. On top of all that theres an "assistance" gauge that doesn't reset when getting sent back to a checkpoint so you just have no heals for the same fight you keep having to retry.

Will make a concerted effort to continue suffering through this early game combat in hopes it can save itself with further upgrades but this is bad bad and it doesn't feel good the moment you start the game.

This game was way better than I thought it was going to be, I played it only to try to get 100% of the achievements but I found myself enjoying it a lot. It does feel 'smaller' than what perhaps it should be but it was very well done. I hope they continue with this franchise and come out with a second game.

The combat system which seems to be what most people complain about is by far not as bad as people seem to try to make it sound, it's an easy system to understand and not hard to master.

What happens when the world ends, you lose your arm, gain a magical new one,
and suddenly have to balance saving humanity with dating four cute strangers?
That's Eternights—a Korean action RPG/dating sim hybrid that's equal parts Persona,
post-apocalypse, and pure chaotic energy.

I played through the whole thing, romanced best girl Min (sorry, other options), and here's my honest review.

📖 The Setup: Arm-Loss, Best Friends, and the Apocalypse

The premise is simple and kind of ridiculous—in the best way. The world starts ending. Our protagonist loses his arm almost immediately. But don't worry, a magical glowing replacement shows up with built-in sword powers.
Now he has to save the world while dragging along his pervy best friend Chani, who provides... let's call it "questionable comic relief" throughout .

Along the way, you meet three girls and one guy who join your party:

Yuna – A former idol with healing powers

Sia – The enthusiastic scientist who loves explaining things

Min – The shy runner (and objectively best girl—we'll get there)

Yohan – The mysterious immortal guy who's your only male romance option.

Chani, your best friend? Not romanceable.

🗓️ The Persona Formula: White Essence, Black Essence, and Hanging Out

If you've played Persona, this structure will feel familiar. You spend your days choosing who to hang out with, building relationships, and watching the calendar tick toward your next dungeon deadline .

The relationship system ties directly to combat progression.

Each romanceable character is linked to a specific stat:

Here's the thing: it's fine. Not great, not terrible—just fine. The early game feels rough because the defensive mechanics are finicky. Dodging isn't as intuitive as it looks, and parry timing takes getting used to .

But here's my biggest gripe: the UI for R1 abilities is hard to read mid-combat. You're mashing buttons, trying to remember which character ability is mapped where, and the visual feedback just isn't clear enough. In chaotic fights, you'll often waste abilities or use the wrong one entirely. A clearer HUD would have made combat flow so much better .

That said, once you unlock more tools and upgrades, combat becomes genuinely fun. Elemental weaknesses matter, building toward big damage feels rewarding, and boss fights have actual weight .

💕 The Romance: Why Min Is Best Girl

Look, I have to address the elephant in the room. Min is the best girl.
And I'm not alone in this—most romance rankings put her at or near the top .

She's the shy, anxious runner who doesn't see her own strength.
Her romance route requires building Confidence, which fits perfectly—
you have to be the steady, reassuring presence she needs .

The other options are fine:

Yuna gets the most screentime since she joins first

Sia is fun if you like enthusiastic science girls

Yohan offers the only gay romance option.

But Min's arc hits different. She's sweet,
her awkward moments feel real, and her personal growth throughout the story is genuinely touching.

Warning: You can romance multiple people, but late-game choices have real consequences . Choose wisely.

📝 The Good, The Bad, and The Cringe

Let's break down what works and what doesn't.

What Works:

Voice acting is excellent across the board. The cast delivers, especially in emotional scenes

Character backstories are relatable. Loneliness, self-doubt,
guilt—these feel human despite the supernatural setting

The ending hits hard. Multiple reviews mention genuine emotional payoff, and I agree

Dungeon design is thoughtful. Simple layouts that reward exploration without frustrating you

Since the main protagonists are teenagers,
there would be some immature sexual innuendos that make sense story wise.

What Doesn't:

Combat starts weak. Takes too long to feel good

UI needs work. Those R1 abilities desperately need better visual clarity

Writing can be choppy. Missing connective tissue between scenes

Sound effects and companion quips get repetitive. You'll hear the same lines constantly in dungeons

🏁 Final Verdict: Who Is This For?

Eternights is a game that knows exactly what it wants to be: a shorter,
scrappier take on the Persona formula with action combat and dating sim heart.
It's rough around the edges. The writing stumbles, the combat takes time to click, and the UI will frustrate you.

But it's also genuinely endearing . The characters grow on you. The relationships feel earned.
And that ending? I wasn't expecting to get emotional, but here we are .

For $30 and about 15 hours, it's a solid pickup if you:

Love Persona's social sim structure

Want action combat instead of turn-based

Can tolerate some cringe humor for genuine heart

Need to know which romance option is best (it's Min)

Final Score: 8/10

Eternights isn't deep. But sometimes, a fun, messy, heartfelt ride through the apocalypse with your favorite shy runner is exactly what you need.

While by no means terrible, ultimately it is hard to recommend this game. The characters are very anime trope-y, but likeable enough, and the Persona-esque social sim is probably the strongest part of the game. The narrative is on the weak side, with little to no worldbuilding, background on the supernatural happenings, and seemingly aborted or unexplained plot threads (like the titular Eternights... I didn't get it at all). It all smashes into a rather unsatisfying conclusion, which tries to tug on your heartstrings but ultimately pulls it punches, betraying any lack of real vision for the story.

But the worst part, and why I don't recommend it, is the gameplay. The combat is deeply boring, revolving almost entirely around a perfect dodge-into-combo-attack mechanic. Executing these dodges and follow-ups charges a gauge that let's you do elemental attacks, which primarily break enemy barriers. It's all fine on paper, but is so miserably repetitive that the game becomes a tiresome slog. The difficulty is very uneven, with most of the game being a complete breeze, until a massive skill check at the finale that almost had me hurl my controller at the wall.

This game has some of the worst lock-on and camera systems I've seen in a modern game. Lock-on frequently targets the wrong enemy in a crowd, your character at times seems to lunge in random directions, trying and failing to attack an enemy out of reach, instead of the guy two inches away. The camera very frequently ends up inside a wall, obscuring your view as you get nailed or stuck on a piece of level geometry. As I said, the game is mostly so easy it doesn't really matter, but it's annoying and does give a lot of unfair deaths during the abruptly-Souls-like finale.

Some positive points: characters are cute and occasionally funny. Voice acting is pretty good. Visuals are not bad at all. Sound design is OK. Has some decent songs. Unfortunately it just isn't enough to make up for tedious, frustrating gameplay and an extremely "mid" story. Certainly not worth full price, and I'd shy away even on sale. But the developer might be one to watch if their next game improves on the combat and story execution.

Amazing game 8/10 the 2 lost stars are for the combat, there is times where dodges wont count. Also there needs to be a objective marker so you know where to go. I was running in circle around the map at one point. The story, plot, voice acting, animation, art and everything else is easily a 10/10 really good stuff. I loved it. As someone who watches anime and enjoys zombie games like the Resident Evil series, I absolutely love this game. The storyline is extremely well-written, along with the stunning graphics and animation. The fighting mechanics are extremely fun to use and upgrade, which can be challenging depending on the difficulty you choose. I am really hoping for a sequel, anime adaptation, or any more source material for this game. Thank you for this masterpiece.

Давно не случалось дропать игры, но смесь ужасных геймдизайнерских решений, как будто почти весь бюджет спустили на симпотичную обложку, подтолкнула к такому решению. Боевка пытается быть и слешером и соулс-лайком, и то и другое получается из рук вон плохо. Наблюдать за противниками, изучая их, почти невозможно, потому что большую часть времени вы находитесь в сражении против кучи противников. Крошить всех тоже не получается, потому что даже на нормальной сложности окно блока/уворота такое короткое, что будет наказывать за каждый тычок в цель. Сама игра при этом пытается поощрять использование долгих комбо. Только попытка их накопить в 70% случаев приводит к кончине и загрузке. Напарник может вылечить раза 3 за уровень. Его энергия не восстанавливается даже после загрузки. И бесконечные QTE. Господи. Если бы они еще были разные, нет. Мы видим абсолютно одинаковые 2 варианта QTE из раза в раз. И по сути это единственный эффективный способ раскладывать сильных оппонентов. И при этом игра вроде как старается быть сюжетно неплохой. Ключевое - старается... Иногда на экране происходит что-то, а затем экран вдруг темнеет, и ты какое-то время пытаешься понять, а что вообще произошло. И вот дальше тебе текстом разжевывают, что именно случилось. А почему бы нормально не показать? А, и этот чёртов игровой автомат с танцами. Как я его возненавидел. Он до безумия простой, но тебе вообще не объясняют, что с ним делать. И ты как дебил тычешь в кнопку, пытаясь понять, на что вообще реагировать. Короче, это одна из худших игр, в которые я играл за последние лет 10. Бывают не лучшие игры, в которые не всегда хочется играть, но это откровенная и очень дорогая халтура, которая не стоит времени даже при скидке в 90%. Искрене не понимаю таких положительных отзывов к игре.

I wish I could give this a mixed review because there are a couple things that tilted me badly enough to cause me to stop playing for a couple days, but primarily the camera angles. I don't know who thought it would be a good idea to have camera angles in tight spaces put your visibility BEHIND the terrain, but here we are.

All in all, my entire playtime except for the final boss was on Expert. The dodge / parry timing on that ended up being too rough for me to get down, but I could have gotten it with more practice. 20 hours to 100% with that in mind isn't too bad. The story had me hooked all the way up until the end, which would be the other reason I tilted.

I'm giving this a recommendation because the majority of it is good, but if I could give it mixed because the bad is THAT bad, I would.

I wish steam would give me a mixed review option. The game is not terrible at all, but is not that good either. The gameplay is repetitive but the game it's pretty short, and it also gives you new skills and mechanics to use 'till the very last dungeon, so you'll probably won't get bored. However there's a lot of jank, specially in the animation department, the animations when breaking enemies barriers are pretty bad.

Character desings are not bad, but are feel quite boring and uninspired, I understand the character should feel as day to day students, but a silent main character wearing a white shirt and jeans couldn not be more bland.

Probably the works part of the game is the story, it's all over the place. Stuff happens and nobody reacts, they just accept things as they come. Plot twists are revealed and suddendly everyone knows about it. Characters join without much fanfare and everyone becomes friend instantly. Lot of stuff happens off-camera. Chracter develpment is not bad, since you can romance 4 characters, you get lots of interactions and bonding time with them. Looks like devs spent more time on the romance development than in the story. The ending is... I don't know how to describe it, is not bad, but it fells like devs run out of time or money (or both) by the end, everything just ends suddendly after the final battle.

I don't have time to play long games, so I wanted to play a short RPG and I guess this game was good enough for that end, but I just wish the story was better.

Данный текст написан на эмоциях и реактивной тяге из пятой точки, почти что сразу после первого прохождения. Воспринимайте его через призму скепсиса, если угодно.

Эта недоигра - показательный пример того, как под конец можно слить неплохую историю и относительно сносный геймплей в помойное убожество по обоим направлениям. Два финальных боя и "ниаЖЫДанный плот-твист" с недоэлементами копро-арг в послесловии перечеркнули все то хорошее, что было до, и отбили любое желание продолжать играть в этот мусор.

Я не буду расписывать в подробностях о достоинствах и недостатках, просто знайте, что это недоразумение можно спокойно и бесплатно пройти на ютубе, если сильно свербит. А если сюжет не столь интересен, то спокойно скипайте - вот вообще ничего не потеряете, еще и сохраните себе пару лишних нейронов. Screw this, я умываю руки.

Bu oyunu ilk gördüğümde dikkatimi çeken sadece grafik tarzı idi. Ve evet dikkatimi çeken şey dışında geri kalanlar ortalamanın bile altında diyebilirim. Kısaca incelemek gerekirse;

+ Grafik ve grafik tarzı zaten beni bu oyunda kendine çeken tek şey idi. Onu da başarılı bir şekilde tüm oyuna aktarmışlar.

+ Japonca seslendirme olması ve beklediğimden daha kaliteli olması beni şaşırttı.

-+ Dövüş sistemi başlarda heyecanlandırsa da 1 saat bile geçmeden derinleşmediğini anlıyorsunuz. Oyunun dövüş kısmındaki tek marifeti, düşman saldırısını yemeden sıyrılırsanız zaman ağır çekime giriyor ve belli bir süre seri saldırı yapabiliyorsunuz.

- Hikayesi çok sığ. Oyuna başladığınız ilk 15-30 dakikada anlatılan ne ise o. Oyun bitene kadar ne detay ne de hikayeyi derinleştirecek herhangi bir durum oluyor.

- Mekan ve düşman tasarımları da kendi içlerinde birbirinin aynısı. Mekanlara zaten neon mor ışık atılmış o kadar. Hikaye ilerliyor ama mekanların hepsi aynı gözüküyor neredeyse. Düşman tasarımları da aynı şekilde çeşitlenmiyor. Oyunun başında ne ise sonunda da aynı.

- Karakterimizin ve yanımızdaki arkadaşların yetenek setinin tamamı herhangi oyunda bulunan pasif yetenekler diyebilirim. Can + saldırı + savunma yükseltme gibi... Ve bunları o kadar az veriyor ki geliştiğinizi fark etmiyorsunuz.

- Oyunda karakterler ile romantizm yaşama ve sosyalleşme var ama düzgün bir şekilde entegre edilmemiş. Karakterlerle derin bağ kurmak ilk oynanışta imkansız gibi diyebilirim.

Oyunu 7 saatte bitirdim. Denemek isteyen arkadaşlara tavsiyem %90 olmadan bulaşmayın paranıza yazık.

I want this game to be good. There are so many times that I feel like this game rug-pulls me into thinking the game is going to get good, and then it lets me go back back to playing the game. I am then reminded that I am playing Eternights, a game that is effectively a compilation of good ideas that don't entirely mesh that well.

Persona-derived schedules and main gameplay loop work just fine. There's a reason Atlus keeps reusing the formula. My main gripe is the combat systems. I genuinely dread every time this game makes me do anything tangential to the combat system. It wants to be a souls-like, with none of the systems a souls-like would have, so you just get this weird thing where you get hit a handful of times by enemies with weird windups, die, and then sprint back to wherever you were just to rush through what was a maybe 30 second combat encounter. Rinse and repeat until you reach the dungeon boss, which feels much more souls-inspired in how you are intended to fight them, paired with elemental rock-paper-scissors. Difficulty in this game is either the occasional 'hehe you died within 10 seconds' or 'Okay, cool you beat up a poor guy suffering an asthma attack caused by one of your teammate's corresponding elemental sneezes.' Bosses aren't that much of an exception. They just have bigger health bars. It just sucks, even if it really isn't that hard.

With that being said, I would say that this game is a 4.5/10 at best. Do I hate it or regret playing it? Not at all, but I would be a liar to say that this game isn't kind of a steaming pile of crap. With that being said, it is a charming abomination - akin to that of the crippled raccoon you might catch crawling around in the community dumpster. It's janky, dirty, and dysfunctional, but every now and again it gets its head stuck on a wrapper you threw out last week and reminds you that it is trying its best.

По сути, очень слабый экшен с элементами визуальной новеллы. Игра будет пытаться разнообразить свою очень скудную боевку разными элементами головоломок и небольших сегментов платформинга.
Но если уж в нее и играть, то ради забавных диалогов, что будут у нас постоянно происходить между «данжами» в моменты, когда надо будет прокачивать отношения с пассиями и дружбаном.
Сам сюжет игры в начале был неплох, но к концу понимаешь, что тут типичная ситуация от японцев, где они предлагают интересную идею, но в конце просто не знают, что с ней делать и происходит максимально безвкусная концовка.

Брать строго по скидки, благо для игры запилили русификатор, огрехи в нем есть, но дискомфорта не составляет.

Good game, fun combat (and anybody who tells you otherwise is just bad at getting their timing right... probably), but, above all, amazing characters. I was shocked at how much depth this game had, even with the semi-self-insert protagonist (who I still really liked).
The ending was great, too, even if it didn't appease much others. I really, really like how it was done in the credits (IYKYK).
Obviously, some parts weren't perfect since it was ONE dev for most of it (The studio was made AFTER this game's success), the problems being the pacing of the story, and the telegraphing for some of the combat, but otherwise, this game was VERY good. I don't even think the combat was bad. It gave me a rush when I actually focused and dodged everything. Even if the telegraphing for attacks can get jank and you don't know what the hell is going on half the time, I came to learn each enemy's attack patterns, which helped a lot.

8/10 for me. Passion from the dev was oozing out in some of the dialogue, and I felt that this game had a lot of heart to it, even if the core mechanics are (obviously) not ironed out enough yet. I look forward to the next game the dev, or, I guess now Studio Sai, puts out. I'm sure it'll be something great.

F THIS GAME. Controls are ass. Dodging lags. No way to heal aside from Yuna. You're ♥♥♥♥♥♥ if you choose her as your main love interest. Character graphics are utter trash. Everyone in this game looks like had their faces smushed in a copy machine. At least the 2D stills are nice. Dungeons are too damn dark to see. This ain't worth it, even on sale. Lo siento bros, pero seré directo, este juego me ha parecido una pesadilla. Es ese nivel de juego malo que ya te ríes porque no te crees lo que estás viviendo y te empiezas a cuestionar si vivimos en una simulación o si Netanyahu ha financiado este juego.

El doblaje, al menos el japonés (lo mejor sin duda), algunos minutos de la historia, los dibujos, el par de cinemáticas cortas que hay y... un poco los personajes supongo.

Literalmente todo lo demás.

[h3]Aspecto Visual[/h3]
Visualmente muy feo, luciendo inacabado. Con un primer plano de los personajes en los diálogos no muy llamativo especialmente, sobre todo con esas bocotas.
Las animaciones son para estar en un museo.
La iluminación saturada, como intentando ocultar lo feo que es el juego y sus escenarios con 0 carisma y sin detalles.
Toda la interfaz se siente muy genérica y tosca.

[h3]Gameplay[/h3]
El combate es muy ortopédico y abusable, tanto los enemigos contigo haciéndote stunlock de una forma exagerada, como tú con ellos. Solo te puedes curar con dos habilidades que dependen de la presencia de un personaje en concreto.
Las mejoras en estadísticas apenas se sienten.
Todos los combates se traducen en hacer parry esquivando y entonces golpear sin parar al ganar unos segundos de invulnerabilidad y tiempo bala, convirtiéndolo en un pésimo Hack & Slash y haciendo cualquier otra estrategia peor, desalentándote en golpear primero.

No es nada satisfactorio que algunos enemigos tengan un escudo cuya única manera de quitar es cargando una barra de ulti a base de palos que no les quitarán ni uno de vida para tirarles la habilidad. Y lo peor es como tengan 3 escudos, porque tendrás que repetir el proceso.

El juego tiene gestión de días, días que ocurren todos dentro de un tren de dos vagones, y cuyo total de días a gestionar es alrededor de 30. Cada día está constituido por día y noche. Por el día principalmente eliges a un personaje para pasar el tiempo que se traduce a un evento en el que te cuentan su arco de personaje, como en Persona, pero aquí de una manera más simple. Y la noche siendo usada sobre todo para ir con un personaje a coger un objeto que quiere en una de 3 posibles localizaciones (siempre son las mismas y con los mismos objetos).

[h3]Historia[/h3]
Es cortísima (sobre todo yendo sobre el fin del mundo y habiendo dioses) y muy mal dirigida: un montón de cortes a negro para no crear las escenas. Exposición por no saber cómo contar la historia. El ritmo es totalmente atropellado, cargándose cualquier la mayor parte de la narrativa.

¿Pero y la música? Eso mismo me pregunto yo.

[h3]Conclusión[/h3]
Me sorprende y mucho, que siendo un juego que bebe mucho de Persona, no haya dado ni una en las cosas que sobresale Persona (interfaz, gestión de días, banda sonora, mazmorras, estilo artístico, personajes), siendo peor en cualquier aspecto al compararlo con Persona 4 sin irnos lejos, un juego de la play 2.

Y me sorprende la cantidad de gente que defiende este juego porque casi todo el trabajo lo ha hecho una persona. Siento ser el frío como Itadori del chat, pero eso es una decisión suya y su responsabilidad saber la escala de su proyecto; los consumidores no somos almas de la caridad, más y todo cuando vale 30 eurazos. Para reforzar mi sorpresa, al mismo tiempo cuando decenas de desarrollares ponen todo su dinero y esfuerzo para hacer un juego y sale mal, como el reciente Highguard, ahí la comunidad sí que no tiene reparo en destruirlo por completo, siendo un hecho objetivo que muchas más personas van a pasarlo mal perdiendo sus empleos y dañando su prestigio. Y yo no quiero hacerme el moralista, si tal juego es una mierda se dice y ya, como consumidor no nos debe importar la cantidad de plantilla de un proyecto, hablando de cara al mercado.
Y pensad que al mismo tiempo, el ser indulgentes con los desarrolladores que no saben dónde se meten, somos injustos con todos aquellos que sí lo saben y hacen juegos más pequeños pero más redondos. Un ejemplo perfecto español es Alva Majo, y si queréis otro ejemplo con un juego más grande está el reciente Crisol. Y si no os vale, cuando el mercado se llene de juegos mediocres o malos pero hechos por una persona, quiero ver a esta gente pasando por el aro una y otra vez.

Pero dejad que tire unos factos. El desarrollador hace dos años dijo que vendió 150 mil unidades alrededor del mundo. Yo no sé dónde tributa, ni de dónde son esas ventas, ni cuántas fueron en rebajas, pero asumiendo que recibió unos 10€ netos por venta, estamos hablando que se quedó con más de un millón, el doble del costo del desarrollo de Hollow Knight por poner un ejemplo. Cuphead costó 4 millones, un juego que es una proeza a nivel de animación, jugablemente adictivo y con muy pocos peros.
Sean Murray, cuando sacó No Man's Sky y fue tremenda mierda se quedó con su equipo durante años para arreglarlo; menciono esto porque el desarrollador de este juego sacó dos hotfixes y a correr.

Para la desgracia de este juego estamos viviendo en el mejor momento de los indies y dobles A, siendo a mi parecer imposible recomendar ni defender este juego.

I really enjoyed Eternights. It was short and sweet, and most importantly, has a very high replayabillity factor. I purchased this game on a whim during a sale not knowing it was heavily marketed as a dating sim. I can assure you that it is much more than that. The characters themselves are a highlight, as well as the overall story concepts. This game had me invested despite its short runtime. It also looks rather impressive considering the fact that this is a passion indie project. However, the one aspect that frustrated me was the ungodly short dodge prompts. I hope you have insanely fast reflexes, because oh my lord the combat had me struggling more than some Souls-like games at times.
Overall, is this game perfect? No. Did I enjoy it way more than I initially thought and hope this game gets the recognition it deserves? Absolutely yes.

The combat wasn't as in depth as I expected but I found it simple and enjoyable regardless.
The game sometimes appears a bit tight on budget, but it has enough charm to make one look past that.
The story helped carry me through. It's not revolutionary but it hit emotional beats well enough that I often found myself charmed or readily anticipating what came next.
The setting details are doled out at a good pace and I found myself hooked.
The MCs powerset is very cool and if this developer ever makes another game, I wish them the best of luck.

My main complaint is the motocycle minigame. The hit detection during it felt pretty odd.

- A apresentação e a ambientação são boas. A premissa também é legal.

O que eu não gostei:
- É um port para PC de um jogo originalmente para o PlayStation, não foi feito para jogar com o teclado e mouse.
- Nas partes de luta, alguns companheiros são completamente inúteis, outros são fracos demais e uma é OP e útil pra caramba. Precisa de estratégia pra pensar em aproveitar razoavelmente cada um deles.

I'll begin with an apology because I sat on this game for quite a long time and this game did not deserve that. From the rumours I'm hearing that the team behind this game wasn't that big - it's very well done for a small team.
Don't expect hi-def graphics here but what you do get is quite possibly the most unserious RPG you'll ever play. The world's gonna end but feelings...and gigantic teddy bras...and you can fart right after Yuna pours her heart out to you.

With extremely easy to understand mechanics, a familiar system if you've played Persona or anything like it and surprising little mini games all throughout, you're not likely to get bored with this one.

What you are going to end up is somewhat emotionally wrecked at the end with a QR Code (genius)
Would I play this game again? Absolutely
Would I romance someone else? mmmm maybe but I'm kind of loyal to Yohan - it's always the soft and cosmically doomed ones that get me.

Monsters, ill-timed men jokes, a splash of toilet humour and teenagers dealing with the end of the world.

I enjoyed this game way more than I was expecting to. It's very impressive for such a small dev team.

The best part of this game is definitely the character interactions. They are well written with distinct personalities and play off of each other well. The humor and storytelling are certainly the highlights of the game.

The enemy design is very good, with a dozen or so different enemy types, not including bosses.

The combat can be somewhat repetitive, but gameplay doesn't get monotonous as the sections are fairly short and often broken up with puzzles or minigames.

I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of JRPGs. The play through is about 12 hours or so, so it won't take up a ton of your time. Well worth the experience.

I'm reading in other reviews that this was mostly made by 3 people. It feels like it.

Eternights has a number of good ideas with botched execution.

The combat? A mediocre souls-like. Death is not a part of the gameplay loop here, it's a simple game-over (which begs the question why make a souls-like if you're going to take away the defining point of the genre). And since some of the bosses clearly have not been balanced for anything other than a Dark-Souls players, you'll soon spend a lot more time fighting the same boss again and again than doing any "dating sim" activity.

The story? The overaching narrative is honestly pretty uninspired. The characters are...interesting? There is little time left to actual characterization even if you can see glimpses of good writing now and then.

The gameplay structure? It's like Persona. Which is to say dated. You go to fight during the day OR spend time with companions and you can do some training at night. Companions are pretty much like a social link. You go talk to them, you get some dialog, you try to press the correct answers and that's it, social points earned. I would have expected a more organic system in 2023.

All in all, it's yet another budget souls-like masquerading as a dating. It's not bad, and there's vision. But vision doesn't make up for the fact that it's not very good either.

난 게이든 게이 같은놈이던 관심 없다 이말이야.

이 게임은 왜 인기가 없는지 알 것 같다. 평작이나 수작은 될 줄 알았는데 기대 이하다. 컨트롤러 이식작이라는 말이 무색하게 키 설정은 플레이 한 번 안 해보고 제멋대로 만든 수준이다. 인게임 QTE에서 A키가 나오는데 플스 엣지 컨트롤러 기준으로 실제 키는 X로 되어 있는 등 세팅이 엉망이다.

길뚫는 뭔 공굴리는 미니게임이 있는데 무슨 의도로 만들었는지 모르겠음

회복 아이템도 없으면서 저스트 회피 하나에만 의존해야 하고, 가드를 깨지 않으면 어떤 공격 수단도 의미가 없다. 심지어 회피조차 6번 누르면 2~3번은 씹힐 정도로 회피 조작감이 별로다. 락온을 L/R 버튼이 아닌 오른쪽 조이스틱에 할당한 건 듣도 보도 못한 설정인데, 키 변경도 안 되니 게임을 제대로 만들었는지 의심된다. 회복수단도 솔직히 말해서 그 소모되는 양을 봤을때 후반 가서도 한두번쓰고 말 정도로 효율이 안 좋은것 같다 하다못해 패링이라도 들어가 있으면 좀 달랐을텐데 싶고

몹 정보도 없고 공격 전조조차 확실하지 않은데 난이도 조절은 의미가 없고 길막 현상까지 심하다. 좀 기분이 불쾌함 그냥 단순한 jrpg 형식에 액션이 있고 미연시를 원하는 사람은 한번 고민해보는게 좋을것 같음 약간 소울이 가미된 맛이라 거기까지 가는데 액션 할만하단 소리가 낫다는 소리가 아니였음 페르소나 시리즈에 영감을 받았다는 소리완 다르게 잘 모르겠고 만원에 싸게 사서 다행이지 내가 3만원에 구입했다 생각하면 개발자에게 메일 썼을것 같음 뭐 이 외에도 많은 문제가 있지만 고민할거면 안사는게 낫다는 생각이 듦

내가 느끼기엔 이겜은 성우들하고 고생값 빼면 딱 5천원 이상 정도가 적당하다는 개인적인 생각임 1인 개발이라는데 사실상 1인 개발도 아니고 게임 시스템 대부분이 나사가 빠져있음 그래도 일단 맛은 봤어서 긍정적으로 평가함

미연시랑 액션 소울라이크를 합쳤다는 시도는 좋았는데 스토리를 죽쒔다.
스토리를 한마디로 요약하자면 찐따가 본인이 만든 게임에 빙의하는걸 상상하면서 만든 것 같은 느낌을 준다.
스토리 중에 후회할 요소를 많이 넣어 놓고 그 요소들을 해결할 명확한 선택지를 주지 않는다.
아예 사힐f처럼 2회차를 상정하고 만든 게임이라 새게임+에서 그 요소들을 해결 할 수 있으면 갓겜이지만, 2회차에서 달라지는 점은 없는것 같기에 그냥 스토리를 잘못 만든거라고 생각한다.
추가로 문제점을 말하자면 컷씬이나 대화가 많은데 스킵을 못하는 부분이 상당 부분을 차지하고 귀찮은 미니게임이 많으며 맵의 숨겨진 아이템이나 보상을 얻는 보람이 별로 없어서 2회차를 할 의욕이 생기지 않는다. 보나마나 뻔하고 거지같은 엔딩에 캐릭터만 바뀌어서 나올 것을 생각하면 더더욱 2회차를 돌고싶어지지 않는다.
스포일러가 될 수 있지만 요한을 제물로 바쳐봤는데 엔딩 이후 연인과 다른 이벤트가 없어서 더더욱 실망했다.
그럼에도 게임을 추천하는 이유는 나만 당할 수 없어서가 아니라 세일해서 8500원 정도의 게임 치고는 스토리를 제외한 게임성은 좋기 때문이다. 비록 컨트롤러를 상정하고 만들었다고 키보드 키 세팅을 바꿀 수 없게 배째거나 좁은 공간에 들어가면 카메라가 벽에 막힌다거나 하는 사소한 문제가 있지만 제한된 리소스를 사용한 인디 게임인 것을 감안하면 충분히 이해할 수 있다.
추가로 한국어 더빙의 퀄리티가 상당히 좋고 중요 퀘스트들은 전부 더빙이 되어있기 때문에 듣는 맛도 좋다.

It's probably best to go into Eternights with little to no knowledge on this game but story wise, this game is definitely worth it. If you see this game on discount it is a no brainer to get plus Chani best girl.

The combat system can be a little Janky but it is still fun to choose what skills to upgrade and use in combat and is completely understandable after realising that excluding voice actors, the game was basically only made by 3 people. I've read some reviews saying mouse and keyboard is unplayable but it worked fine for me (maybe because I play rocket league with mouse and keyboard like a psycho) with the only real problem I've found being when the dialogue options pop up on screen, it takes a second or two before it register me pressing up or down.

The story can be a bit predictable at times (nothing wrong with that) but it is full of moments that can make you laugh (or just chuckle) and care for the characters. I would say the story is quite fun overall having elements that are there solely to just enjoy.

The real worth of this game lies in the characters and their story with you. As you rank them up, you learn more about their backstory which is typically their [spoiler] greatest regret [/spoiler] and you help them come to terms and deal with it. In my first (and currently only) playthrough, I got to max rank with 2 characters (excluding Chani) and while the game gives you the option to date both characters, I felt compelled not to as I couldn't betray the character I chose to date first. With some other games, the only reason I chose not to date multiple characters was because I feel like it is wrong, not because I am actually invested in the characters which I am with Eternights. So far, this is the only game that has made me actually cry.

The ending is brutal, of course until it gives you that little bit of hope and then if you date only one character you get a qr code giving a little bonus scene for them which made me cry again.
[spoiler] Forcing the player to stop holding the final quick time button and let go of your chosen love interest is one of the greatest and most evil gameplay aspects I have ever experienced. After the first one filling and you grabbing them only to do nothing how much you hold it down the second time broke me, it had me in a panic forgetting the pause button existed and to hold the button while I got my phone to google if there was any way to stop the inevitable. Even when I accepted there was nothing I could do, I still couldn't fully stop myself from pressing the button just in case those few extra seconds saved her. It hurt me feeling like so powerless to stop her. When you wake up a few days later, I couldn't help but think slightly "What's the point." as I was so invested with these characters. A game has never made me feel like that before and because of that, Eternights will always hold a special place in my heart. Before I got to the ending I was planning how to get every achievement and the full story and ending for every character but it will take a lot longer than I thought as I'm not strong enough to go through this feeling more than like one a week but I will definitely beat this game again. Still wish Chani was datable though. [/spoiler]

Eternights era un juego que tenía ganas de jugar desde hace mucho tiempo. Algo en él me llamaba la atención desde la primera vez que lo vi, como si me estuviera esperando. Estos días finalmente me animé a probarlo, y desde el inicio supe que tenía algo especial.
Lo primero que resalta, al menos para mí, es su apartado gráfico, que me encantó. Tiene un estilo muy marcado y expresivo, capaz de transmitir emociones incluso en los momentos de silencio. A esto se suma una música que acompaña muy bien al juego, reforzando cada escena y ayudando a que los momentos importantes se sientan todavía más intensos. Luego aparece la historia, que logra atraparte poco a poco, sin apurarse, haciendo que quieras seguir adelante para ver qué les espera a sus personajes.
Me hubiese gustado poder interactuar mucho más con ellos. Sentí que había vínculos con mucho potencial que podrían haberse profundizado todavía más, y eso me dejó con ganas de conocerlos mejor. Aun así, logran transmitirte algo, y eso no es poco.
No todo fue perfecto. Los diseños de niveles y enemigos, con el paso del tiempo, se vuelven repetitivos, y llega un punto en el que el combate empieza a sentirse más como una obligación que como algo emocionante. Esa repetición le quita un poco de fuerza a una experiencia que, narrativamente, tiene mucho para ofrecer.
Saqué el final con Yuna, y sinceramente no estaba preparado para eso. Me dejó un vacío muy grande. Fue un cierre que no esperaba para nada, que me agarró por sorpresa y terminó de cerrar el juego de una forma contundente. Ese vacío que queda al terminarlo dice mucho: significa que la historia y la forma en la que se desarrolla están bien logradas, que algo de lo que viviste se quedó con vos.
Para ser el primer juego de la desarrolladora, Eternights es una experiencia muy sólida y con identidad propia. Todavía me quedan finales por descubrir, y pienso volver a jugarlo para conocerlos todos. Sin dudas, valió completamente la pena.

1.최적화: 데스크탑을 as를 맡겨서 사용하지 못할 때, 노트북으로도 프레임 드랍 없이 원할한 플레이 환경을 제공한다
2.난이도: 전투의 난이도는 ARPG를 접하지 않은 사람들도 익숙해지면 충분히 여러 콤보를 활용 가능할 정도로 쉽다, 호감도 랭크 또한 일정만 제대로 짠다면 모두 올릴 수 있다. 나 또한 1회차 때 일편단심 엔딩 이후 2회차에 모든 캐릭터를 7랭크(차니는 5랭크)를 만들 수 있었다
3.액션: 저스트 회피의 연출 및 스킬, 엘리멘탈 공격 등 1인 개발이라고 믿기 힘들 정도의 화려한 액션을 보여준다
4.미니게임: 스토리 진행 또는 휴식 중간중간에 여러 미니게임들이 있어서 지루할 틈이 없다
5.일러스트: 캐릭터들의 일러스트가 정말 멋이고 이쁘게 잘 뽑혀서, 일러스트의 양이 적은게 너무 아쉬울 정도로 고퀄리티였다

단점
1.스토리: 1인 개발의 한계로 인한 짧은 플레이 타임으로 인하여 캐릭터들간의 감정 변화가 이해가 되지 않았으며, 고유명사가 너무 많았다. 가장 중요한 메인 스토리 또한 풀어나가는 과정이 후반부에 너무 급하게 푼 감이있다. 배경은 아포칼립스인데 짦은 플레이 타임과 미연시 요소의 도입으로 인해 상황이 심각해 보이지 않는다는 것 또한 단점이다.
2.추격전 민을 엎고 탈출하는 부분과 시아와 함께 오토바이를 타는 부분은 참신했으나 조작감이 너무 구려서 오히려 스토리 및 게임 플레이 몰입에 방해되었다
3.그래픽: 캐릭터들의 3D 모델링 및 모션은 버츄얼 챗에서 자주 보이는 양산형 십덕 모델링 느낌이 들었고 배경 또한 약각 허술해 보이는 부분이 있으나, 1인 개발이라고 생각을 한다면 넘어갈 수 있는 부분이다
4.애니매이션 영상: 중간중간에 나오는 애니매이션의 영상은 스토리의 흐름을 끊는 느낌이 있어서 오히려 일러스트를 더 많이 만들어 중간중간에 넣었으면 어땠을까라는 생각이 든다
5.남캐 공략: 왜 동성애 요소를 넣었는지 도무지 이해가 가지 않으며, 도전과제 때문에 요한 또한 랭크업 시켰는데 너무 힘들었다.
6.가격: 1인 개발이기에 낮은 퀄리티는 이해할 수 있으나, 3만원대라는 가격은 너무 비싸게 느껴진다. 나는 할인할 때 사서 만원이 안넘는 가격에 구매를 하였는데 만원대 중반이 적절한 가격이지 않나라는 생각이 든다
7.스토리 스킵 기능: 도전과제 올클리어를 위해 2회차 플레이를 하였는데 스토리 스킵이 너무 적어서 2회차 이상 유저들에게는 스킵 기능을 더 넣어준다거나 하는 편의성 패치는 있으면 좋을 것 같다

총평: 짧은 플레이 타임을 지닌 액션 알피지를 하고 싶은 이들에게 추천한다. 나는 이런 식으로 호감도를 올리는 게임은 처음 해보았는데 '유대'를 스토리에서 강조하여 캐릭터들의 호감도를 높힐 수록 본인의 전투력을 높일 수 있는 부분은 재미있었다. 액션 또한 정말 재밌게 즐겼기에 만원대 중반 이하로 할인 하는 경우에는 구매를 추천한다

推荐是因为现在史低二十多块，隔壁甚至免费送。就这游戏体量而言，二十多获得的体验还是不错的，但如果你像我一样六七十买的，那是万万不值。
剧情的问题涉及剧透，而且已经有很多人说过了，不提了。说说这游戏战斗部分的事吧。虽然很多人把魂游戏称为回合制游戏，但大家都知道这是对魂游这种残疾性能动作游戏的戏称。而这游戏，不喷不黑，说它是动作游戏就是对动作游戏的侮辱，这就纯纯一QTE游戏。这游戏战斗的唯一核心就是闪避，闪避怪物攻击可以进入时停时间猛猛输出，攒爆发、攒红条、攒大招槽。技能？路边一条。所以这游戏战斗非常简陋，好消息是你十来二十小时就能通关，sl的话不用二周目就能体验所有内容，在你玩这套无聊的系统玩到烦之前就可以删游戏了，但凡游戏时长翻个倍，评价里喷的多就不是剧情了。
然后说说怪物的设计。基础怪物打你的时候会冒红光，让你有充足反应时间闪避，这比一般的动作游戏友好很多。本来这种像机兵一样降低操作门槛的设计是能吸引来一些手残玩家的，结果后面制作组就开始作妖了，设计一堆逆天怪物。首先是红痰姐，这种怪物攻击前只有嘴里有微微的红光，还可以离着老远打远程攻击。本来这游戏画面就又昏暗又光污染看不清楚前摇，你画面外就开喷我怎么反应？后面还有能多面吐痰的超级红痰姐、多个和其它兵种混编的红痰姐小队，在你和其它精英怪激情互砍的时候，三四个红痰姐远程吐痰偷袭你一下，非常之恶心。接下来登场的是保安哥，手持盾牌，人均能99%盾反，倒地状态都可以瞬间起立盾防你攻击。虽然盾反不会伤害到你，但你也伤害不了它，而且能弹出你硬直让其它怪物补刀，还能把你攒的红条（致命攻击条）直接归零。打这种怪物要么时停输出，要么用技能（这也是这游戏技能唯一有用的地方，要不然输出还不如平A连击），要么放大招。但是技能槽放完都不一定能打死一只，大招槽更是攒半天，打一发也打不了后期盾防哥四分之一血。所以最后还是回归这游戏底层逻辑，等对方出招闪避时停时间狂暴输出……最后出场的，是护罩小精英/BOSS。不能用大招以外的任何方式打破那个破护罩，而且必须打对克制属性的大招还要打对那个无聊透顶的QTE才能破盾。说实话这个不难，但是巨烦巨无聊，打半天不扣血就为了攒大招槽，打着巨空虚。后面BOSS还有护罩刀反哥，护罩和刀反（用刀盾反）都会，把我看笑了。反正我觉得这游戏的战斗毫无激情可言，全是冷静的QTE，全靠走位和抓时机，无聊透顶。
然后说说这游戏的场景设计，也是逆天。昏暗加光污染，经常看不清敌我和东南西北。昏暗场景的游戏我也玩过不少，魂游的地窟，巫师三的巢穴，生化的回廊，但都没这游戏这样让人恶心。而且人家3A游戏能调光线，你个unity做的小游戏能调么？也这么搞？还有就是这游戏培养要素少，打怪收益其实很低，结果还设计那种纯怪物房，进来直接锁死跳出来一堆怪，费半天劲打完发现没别的路也没有什么收益，就打怪那三瓜俩枣黑色精华，打发要饭的。还有就是这游戏伙伴是无法战斗的，只能辅助。说是辅助，其实就是为你解锁能力的，剧情上是有他们在你身边你才能解锁能力，但在游戏里他们就是只会绕你身边乱跑的工具人，没任何用，你开怪的时候只会觉得烦人。他们绕来绕去怪又不攻击他们非常违和，而且怪物要被你攻击才会显示血条，所以在这种昏暗的场景设计下你经常分不清绕着你还互相挨着很近的是你的伙伴还是没显示血条的怪物，经常跑过去A半天才发现原来是自己人，气笑了。
这游戏最聪明的一点就是没有故意拖时长，节奏循序渐进把握得还算舒服，在你快要厌烦这套玩意的时候从容结束了。但凡再拖长一点时间，我对这游戏的负面情绪就要指数级上涨了。不过这也带来一个问题，那就是这游戏流程真的不长。如果你是二十块钱购入，差不多一两块钱一小时，我觉得还是可以的。但凡这游戏再贵一点，我都觉得不值。

虽然剧情上来说，有些老套了，但这游戏毕竟上架了几年了，你也不能指望它剧情一直在更新吧。
之前送的，但我没领到，然后我去搜视频，然后吸引我了，steam又打折，我就买了。
有些人在说这个游戏的画面不行，这是必然的，一看就是小成本游戏。肯定是比不过那些大厂的。这个游戏你确实需要一点魂类的功底。但也不需要那么多，正常打游戏应该都是有这点功底的。或者多的玩一会就行。
总体来说很好，大剧情是老套的，但小剧情不一样了，还是挺不错的。
再说个事儿吧，有些人猴急，他没看完最后那个。表。最后是有复活小彩蛋的
